So I've been teasing this character in my tags/posts for a while, and she's finally hereeee. Anyways WHOOPS, another self indulgent Lethal Company character who is basically the Wario version of [Cap'n]!

Meet Echo and her crewmates: Orion (goggle'd circle-shaped one), Spade (short one with big arms), and Guy (shapely GNC one). Being the opposite of Cap'n's crew, they're all men EXCEPT for Echo!

At first, she started out as a grown woman having a one-sided, very pathetic beef with Cap'n, but she evolved into an angry teenager who projects all of her issues onto someone who literally doesn't know she exists (and subsequently does something horrible to herself to rectify this weird beef). Did it work? Well no, come on, look at her, now she's even worse GOKJDFMKDF

And when I say "one-sided", I mean it. Genuinely Cap'n doesn't know who she is, like, at all. I think the first time they meet will be the inevitable werewolf fight between the two of them when things get out of hand.

Anyways I love the kidnapper fox, but alas, she was too swag for this world, RIP to a real one that lasted a month and a half. u_u)!!

mini comic for Lose Clarity - a gift for Eclipse!! Puzzle made him a friendship bracelet :D

they accidentally spelled it as “EclipzƎ” with the letter beads, but Eclipse doesn’t seem to mind :)

extra :3 - Eclipse secretly keeps the bracelet, hiding underneath his wrist ribbons securely so it doesn’t slip out and off his hand (and to make sure no one else sees it)

explanation for Eclipse and Puzzle’s relationship below:

with Puzzle technically being Ruin’s child, Eclipse (and Nexus, even previously as Moon) has never been fond of Puzzle. Eclipse hates Ruin, and he saw Puzzle just as a smaller version of Ruin when he first learned about them.

These two’s relationship started to grow more whenever Puzzle started coming around more often, usually out of boredom or just for fun if Ruin was off doing something and/or was occupied. (In the mini comic above, Puzzle decided to make friendship bracelets in their free time; one being for Eclipse as seen here). Eclipse never wanted to, and probably never will, admit that he started to like Puzzle’s company, sorta like Earth as well - and tbh, Eclipse and Puzzle’s relationship could end up being explained with this meme (<- i thought it could fit)

Eventually, Eclipse (sorta similar how he did Earth) grew a small soft spot for the kid. Eclipse ends up being one of the people who tends to Puzzle, whenever (Ruin is missing.) others are occupied. Eclipse has also taught Puzzle a few things here and there that Ruin may or may not know about :) Eclipse is also the person who Puzzle is comfortable with later in the timeline. Eclipse keeps them safe in the future.. (for certain reasons…)

tbh, part of the reason Eclipse hangs out with Puzzle is to spite Ruin-

spoilers for link click bridon arc ep 1

ive seen some people criticizing the new link click episode for being confusing or sidetracking the main plot, and i think they are missing a lot of what The Point of this episode is.

so first i wanna talk about WHY i think this episode is structured the way it is and then i wanna talk about the new information we've received in terms of the lore and timeline shenanigans and generally ramble about how great of a set up episode this!

SO first: the structure of the episode. ive seen quite a few people confused or unhappy with the plot lines this episode, and i think first its important to understand that that was two episodes mushed into one.

1st episode - anime con

2nd- scammer girl

soooo lets talk about what these two episodes do for the overall narrative AND our understanding of the characters.

in episode 1, we see cxs die - and there is a LOT of mystery still surrounding this event but i think what we're supposed to gather is that there are two main timelines. timeline a (the original where we see cxs die) and timeline b (the timeline were following for the rest of the season and in s1 and s2). we've been shown no reason to believe lu guang has traveled back more than once. this is the first time that we see lu guang travel - evident by his emotional reaction to seeing cxs die. its not resignation, its shock. he didnt expect him to die at all. and his reaction to seeing cxs again in their first meeting in timeline b.

so what is the anime con sideplot doing there? firstly i think its evident by the way lu guang turns away near the end that he is planning to stay away from cxs. but he chooses not to BECAUSE of the way we get that classic feel good adventure with a problem and resolution- cxs LIKES being helpful and kind, it makes him happy. and seeing cxs happy makes lu guang happy and so he decides to abandon the idea of leaving. in a meta sense the episode returns us to a sense of normalcy not just to the audience but to lu guang too. secondly, this episode shows us how lu guang introduces his powers to cxs and qiao ling. he tells them its divination, and while he eventually tells cxs that thats not true, it does show us how qiao ling would know to get them jobs in s1 while not knowing about their powers.. she thinks lu guang is psychic lol! also in this timeline (timeline b) this is the shiguang meetcute!! this is how they became friends! this is re-contextualizing all of season 1! super cool and exciting!

so for episode 2- what the purpose here? mainly its too show us a rudimentary form of what shiguang's missions are like! think about it! this episode is the first ever time cxs goes on a mission with lu guang in his ear telling him what to do! this is SO IMPORTANT for contextualizing their relationship with each other! also cxs being accidentally put in danger and lu guang being able to save him this time? this is cathartic for lu guang as well, to trust he can keep cxs safe, this is why he asks to live w cxs at the end of the episode!

tldr: this episode's structure might feel kinda all over the place but thats kind of the point! lu guang as well as the audience are having to resettle in a new timeline, and the stories her serve as the avanues to understanding the characters and timeline better!

so what did we learn about the LOREEE?

1st: timeline a shiguang were messing with the past which is why vein comes to kill them - what they were messing with and why is still yet to be revealed, but it wasnt due to lu guang traveling to save cxs cuz cxs hadnt died yet

2nd: the 12 hour limit is there because if you stay for longer than 12 hours in the photograph you stay there forever - you become part of the photograph, which is why lu guang's eyes return to normal from the yellow. we do not yet know if this means that lu guang no longer has cxs's power or if he still has it.

3: there is likely only two timelines - timeline a where cxs dies and timeline b- the current one were in and the one that takes place in s1 and 2.

4: cxs probably gets his powers from someone in london dying in his arms

5: Powers are passed down through death, which means in s3 qiao ling will have li tianxi's powers!!!!

6: lu guang is absolutely weak to cxs puppy eyes! that man folded immediately

thats all ive gotten from just this episode! in conclusion, this episode does a great job of confirming SO MANY theories, giving us an insight into the characters (especially lu guang) and setting up the adventure going forward that leads them to london! really excited to see how the next episodes play out!!!

notes on veifei and reciprocation of the gaze

(or, rethinking the PVS as taking place After yingdu, and thinking about vein and xf looking at each other, basically. is this even anything)

- xia fei's PV — in a post Yingdu context we see 'influencer' xf, the news report at YE6 refers to him as such, prior to that he's just a part time model:

- liu xiao's appearance in XF PV is transactional; conversely vein's appearance doesn't have that implication — its one sided; vein gazes upon XF with a smirk/smile, a look of (personal) interest

- what's the point of showing this scene?

- POST yingdu context/interpretation — vein is overseeing/watching over (an unaware) XF? Amusement? (endearment?) (veifei stonks are UP because xf would have to have really captured vein's attention for him to still be looking at him 'beyond the grave'/from the shadows)

- other instances of the (un)reciprocated gaze? the ED; vein looking towards the light, XF looking out towards the rain; the first meeting in which there is a reciprocal gaze (tho really the focus/framing is on vein looking down at XF); XF 'looking up to vein' in the metaphorical sense (what he says to shiguang in bahati), gazing up at the clocktower (which vein is atop of in the OP)

- XF is Unaware of vein's gaze, but looks at him/up to him regardless; vein is Aware of XF's gaze, and does seem to gaze back (reciprocation of the gaze)

- the role of surveillance -- suggesting control/dominance (vein's PV, and his appearance in XF's) - but we see XF's 'self surveillance' in his PV too - submission/acceptance/...reciprocation? A 'please watch me' - XF is looking For vein/looking AT vein -> what he does ("i got nothing left to lose / all i do is pursue") is for vein's return(ed gaze)

btw hey happy almost halloween. anybody here to listen if i say this mirror world in canto 6 was them being jonathan and mina harker. the fascinator of mina's green dress is decorated to resemble a feather, too. as of wild hunt's acquisition scene, in this world catherine dies by being beheaded, as if befitting of a vampire, which mina nearly becomes in the course of the book.

Hell yeah!!!! I have my beautiful Phainon, and while I lost at 50/50 at first, I still managed to get him. I was a bit sad at first but this is Blade I lost to and I didn’t have him before so it’s okay :3 My luck could have been better like on Sunday’s banner but we’re here.

I only hope to also obtain Phainon’ lc before the end of his banner because this one I didn’t manage to get. I hoped to get it today but it’s still better than not having Phainon at all. I still have some chests to catch, too.

xia fei is (was?) on scholarship for an applied physics course which means he must be fairly smart/hardworking — i wonder if he genuinely had passion for his degree but then reality sunk in (no money, trying to fend for himself alone in yingdu). or was he just going through the motions because he had a knack for the subject and thought it would lead to a good, well paying job.

other people only seem to fixate on his looks though, without recognising his talents. and he himself doesn't seem to like people pointing out his appearance. maybe after years of trying to prove he's more than a pretty face, he grows tired and concludes maybe his beauty really is the only thing that will get him anywhere in life
