So, on a scale of 1-100 how bad are Lazards crashouts?
( @izunias-meme-hole )
There is, in fact, a Lazard Crashout Severity Scale (LCSS), and every SOLDIER knows it by heart. It's initially created as a joke by some Thirds who were tired of their vacation requests being denied, it has since evolved into a critical survival tool.
Level 1 - The "This is fine" Crashout
Lazard is as pristine as ever—glasses polished, hair combed, tie perfectly aligned. He just lets out one of those long-suffering sighs and can't believe what he's being subjected to. Perhaps he'll make a comment about how he should've gone to medical school. Nothing that can't be fixed with some whiskey and fantasizing about feeding President Shinra to a Zolom.
Level 2 - The "Why Are You Looking at Me Like That?" Crashout
There's a single button undone on his vest. His tie is slightly crooked. His eye twitches when he's speaking. He's very quick to snap at people and enforce workplace professionalism but still remains as cool as ever.
Level 3 - The "I Don't Get Paid Enough for This" Crashout
The glasses are slightly smudged. The pen taps against the desk a little too aggressively. Lazard has started responding to emails with one-word answers, and his punctuation is aggressive. At this level, SOLDIERs are no longer being reprimanded for "unnecessary destruction of property," which means Zack is now at maximum power. He's snarky. He's sarcastic. He responds to Sephiroth's, "Where is the mission report?" with "In my inbox, Sephiroth, where else would it be?" Emails have evolved from "Please ensure your reports are submitted on time. Thank you." to "Reports. Now." and now "Subject: :) — Wow, another late report. Shocking."
Level 4 - The "SOLDIER Morale Is a Lost Cause" Crashout
Lazard has given up. This is a slow, simmering descent into corporate nihilism. He no longer believes in competence as a concept. Least of all in his three First Class disasters, who, despite being Shinra's most powerful warriors, somehow remain the pinnacle of incompetence. He is running on pure bitterness and unfiltered caffeine. Thirty minutes of a forty-minute meeting are dedicated to a detailed, impassioned speech about how everyone under his command is an utter disappointment. Meanwhile, Zack, eternal optimist, never one to read a room, leaves a motivational note on Lazard's desk. It is promptly, violently shredded.
Level 5 - The "No One Is Safe" Crashout
The tie is gone. The vest is gone. The light is gone from his eyes. When Lazard enters a room, nobody speaks. Not out of respect, but out of primal fear. Genesis swears he watched him pour an entire mini bottle of liquor into his morning coffee. At 7 AM. No hesitation. No eye contact. Just tip, tip, glug. Sephiroth, who has stared into the abyss and made it flinch, stands next to him looking visibly uneasy. Zack, who refuses to learn lessons, asks "Hey, you good?" Lazard takes a long, slow drag from a cigarette, exhales directly at Zack's face and says: "I once believed in things. What a fool I was."
He no longer cares. This is the perfect time to ask for a raise. Or, alternatively, to deliver catastrophic news. Which is why Zack immediately seizes the moment to tell him he blew up the training room. Lazard does not blink. Does not react. He just takes another drag, exhales, and in the most monotone, dead-eyed voice imaginable, responds: "Tell it I envy its escape."
Level 6 - The "Sephiroth, You're in Charge" Crashout
It happens when he sees something heart-attack inducing and immediately yells "I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. SEPHIROTH, YOU'RE IN CHARGE. IF ANY OF YOU CLOWNS TRY TO CONTACT ME, I'LL BREAK YOUR KNEE CAPS" and leaves.
Level 7 - The "I quit!" Crashout
Lazard has done this so many times, it's ritual at this point. When he slams his hands on the table, and announces "That's it! I quit! If you're all so inclined to disobey my orders, I'll just step down as Director! Have fun with Heidegger!" Everyone knows he's bluffing. But Lazard, never one to break tradition, starts packing up his desk. This is when Zack—bless his heart—knows it's his time to shine. He rushes over, grabs Lazard's legs, and starts sobbing "NO! YOU CAN'T LEAVE US, WE LOVE YOU!"
Level 8 - The "Fuck everyone" Crashout
They don't know what leads to this, but they do know that at this level, he throws office supplies at people who enter his office and was once seen running after Sephiroth wielding his shoe as a weapon.
Level 9 - The "Corporate Collapse" Crashout
He's not even at SOLDIER anymore. He left. The Turks locate him sipping a cocktail on a beach at Costa del Sol. When asked to return, he simply replies "No." They have to sedate him and drag him back.
Level 10 - "AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH"
Will attempt to assassinate President Shinra if they don't hold him down.

So you want to preorder the NEW Batgirl #1 coming to a comic shop near you on November 6?
Well, hopefully, this can help you attain that preorder. So you're doing your part to make sure this series lasts.
The first step is to find your local comic shop. Use a search engine for that most heavenly of place that has comics.
Or if you already know search them online (they might have an online shop), an app, call the store, or visit it in person.
Now I'm using my experience from the shops I visit in the midwestern area. So this could be different in the region you're in the US (or Canada). I have no idea on the best way to attain this book outside the country save Canada. So anyone who can answer that pls chim in here.
I mean, possibly, you could buy it on their website (or their eBay shop) and MAYBE they have international shipping. Then again, if you have a US friend maybe they can do this all for you?
Preorders will begin next month. If you go in person you could put your order in. If you know those who work at the LCS they might think of you and put that in your pull list.
I know one LCS in my area, he is thoughtful enough to sometimes keep a variant that has Cass for me knowing that Wed I pull up I'll nab it. Cause he knows my weakness. That, and Rian Gonzales variants.
Likewise, the other LCS I went too. There was a clerk there who'd put stuff in my pull that she knew I'd like.
But there's always that chance they might not do any of this. So it's best to just do this person next month to guarantee your preorder.
Tumblr media
Now let's talk about variants. Some shops if they sense there's "blood in the water" when preordering will order more comics. More comics mean more chances to get the variants (i.e. the Artgerm or Jeff Dekal ones).
There are only two variants that might be problematic to attain that I can foresee.
The holo variant from Artgerm one. Unless there's a comic convention near you that same weekend there's a good chance these might sell pretty fast. It is Artgerm after all.
Unless, your LCS is part of a "larger" chain. So one of my LCSs is a Graham Crackers which is a HUGE midwestern comic shop. So there's a really good chance I'll be able to attain all my variants.
HOWEVER....
The other LCS I go to, while they are my primary pull list really don't dabble much too much in variant covers.
This is because they're trying to make a profit and they don't see being able to make one. At least that's what I was told back when I had Batgirls on my pull.
If they do. It would be two or three copies. Like the last AAPI Batgirls variant. Said my shop owner did secure me a copy even without me asking them because they knew of my interest in Cass.
I've noticed since they "enacted" that policy they do order more of the "hotter" comics. Like I noticed a few Birds of Prey, Batman, and X-Men variants in one visit not too long ago.
Still, I know attaining the 1:25 Skylar Patridge will be next to impossible from them. They don't order 25 copies of a comic (unless it's Batman or Spider-Man).
Tumblr media
For that, I'd recommend a larger comic shop chain (or if you know your LCS. They might order enough and you can reserve said copy via them next month).
If not...
Again, I'd recommend a larger chain with their web shop or if they have one via eBay. I've nabbed all the variants I want because Graham Crackers is HUGE in the Midwest.
If you know your shop will have more than 25 copies of Batgirl #1 please preorder the 1:25 by Patridge next month if possible.
Or wait until their website opens orders (usually a week prior to release on a Thursday.
If not... There's always a chance if there's a comic around that period (or a bit after) they might have it to purchase. However, you so won't be paying the original cost of it. 😬
Now here's my overall impression of the release. DC itself doesn't think this comic might sell. I mean they're only doing a 1:25 only for this series. That's it.
That already is 🚨 because we aren't getting a 1:50 like we did with Batgirls #1.
Tumblr media
That is why I HIGHLY stress PLEASE PREORDER THIS COMIC! DO NOT WAIT UNTIL NOVEMBER 6th! Show your love for this character by preordering the heck out of it! Add this to your pull list!
Please do your part!
That said, please go crazy and nab these covers and variants. They ain't kidding when the last Cass solo was over 14 years ago (I'm counting Batgirl Vo1. 2). You've voiced your want. DC heard it. This is you honoring that want.
Cause if not...
Well, I can't say cause in all honesty? The old DC regime is gone. They ain't side scheming or pushing something else behind the scenes. Just this might be it for Cass when it comes to an ongoing solo.
Why I say please do your part. Hopefully, this helps and if not someone better than me can advise you better (and they reply via this post). But this is me doing my best with the knowledge I know.

"True," Cat says. "Though I'd like to add some flowers so maybe some buttercups..." "This is a lot of effort for people we hate," Inno says. "Does this really deserve all of our time thinking about?"
The irony is not lost on her, but she is wondering.
Eyepatch gathers some bouquets to give to the other Amanes. This is trickier than with other people. How is she supposed to give a gift to herself?
At least she should avoid roses with Cat.
"Clematis, for safety. Daffodils for rebirth, new beginnings, and hope. Blue irises for faith, hope, wisdom, and health. Milkweed for hope in misery. ...Am I doing this right?"
"That's a lot of hope..." Pigtails (?) tells her from behind.
( @amane-order-of-attack )
(Pretend this was sent on Valentine's Day)
Inno approaches from her other side. “Flowers…? Is there something special today Eyepatch?”

Left Coast Sherlock Symposium: At Home 2020
Originally posted 10/13/2020
2020 has been a crap year for a lot of things, cancelled vacations, not eating in restaurants, the general all around trash fire called life.  One of the hard ones, especially for fans, has been the cancellation of conventions.  This however, had been both bad and good.  The good part being that many of the conventions have gone virtual this year, which means that people who normally haven’t been able to go (time, money, availability) are getting a taste of what these conventions would normally be like.
This past Saturday one such convention, The Left Coast Sherlock Symposium, went virtual and offered me, being in the Midwest and on the heels of what would have normally been my local annual convention last weekend, an opportunity to attend a convention I wouldn’t normally be able to go to. The entire Symposium, lasting about three hours between all the panelists with a four-hour social hour afterwards, pulled in speakers from around the country to host lectures.  While there were a few hiccups (because what is a Zoom meeting without a few hiccups) and a cat loudly expressing their displeasure early on (again, what is a Zoom meeting without a cat), the symposium was entertaining, informative, endearing and all around perfectly wonderful. The symposium, opened by a speech by Elinor Gray, who gave heartfelt thanks and acknowledgments of the indigenous people who lived on the land before the us, hosted five speakers, Bonnie MacBird, author of Art in the Blood series of Sherlock Holmes book as well as an actor, teacher, and artist.  She hosted a wonderful panel on “The Observations of Baker Street”.  Her lecture included wonderful pictures that showed Baker Street and Marylebone beginning from Regent’s Park and going down to Wimpole Street.  Some of the places along the virtual tour mentioned were the Holmes Hotel, which was the original spot of Bedford College for Women, the place where Charles Babbage met Ada Lovelace, the old and new pictures of the Baker Street tube station, Madam Tussauds and of course the home on Wimpole Street where Arthur Conan Doyle lived for a time. Most of the places she mentioned were listed on the Booth maps of London which she mentioned in her lecture.  https://booth.lse.ac.uk/map/14/-0.1174/51.5064/100/0The second lecturer was Rob Nunn, author, and teacher of children.  His lecture was entitled “A Friend of Mr. Sherlock is always Welcome”. He spoke of teaching a Language Arts curriculum to fifth grade students as well as how to encourage children in a forever love of reading, not only Sherlock Holmes but any books.  He gave us eight core lessons of how to not only encourage students to read and to nurture interests but to encourage and nurture fellow novices and people who express an interest in Sherlock Holmes.  Out of all the lessons he gave us, the one that needed to be repeated over and over was his final lesson: Sherlock belongs to everyone. The third lecture was Angela Misri, author, and journalist.  Her lecture was on “The Responsibility of Writing about Baker Street”.  She discussed writing pastiches while still being accurate with the canon. Writing in someone else’s world as opposed to creating a world from scratch is that the author must keep to the canon that the original author created.  She listed five of her rules that she feels an author writing pastiches in Arthur Conan Doyle’s world should follow.  Out of those rules the one that stuck out was her first; Respect what Conan Doyle wrote but don’t copy him.The fourth lecture was with three student filmmakers: Mina Huffman, Caroline Duessel and Taylor Dolniak who wrote, produced, and created a student film called “Sherlock Holmes and the Furtive Festivity”, now available on You Tube. The film was a screen writing project about an older Holmes and Watson that focuses on a relationship between the men.  The project was created for those who follow and appreciate a Holmes and Watson romantic relationship. They discussed the process in which they worked through the making, the hiring of the actors and how they found the place that ended up becoming 221B.The final speaker of the symposium was Les Klinger, Annotator, Editor, World’s First Consulting Sherlockian, as it says on his website. Mr. Klinger finished the day by reading letters, correspondence between Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Dr. John Watson.  The correspondence details how Conan Doyle became the unofficial literary agent of the case studies of one Mr. Sherlock Holmes.  The chronology of their relationship as well as the stories, the pub dates, up to and including the final
letter to Jean from Dr. Watson follows the dates and story lines accurately.  Klinger discussed the copywrite issues that he defended as well as the current copywrite lawsuit regarding the Enola Holmes movie. For their first virtual symposium, the Left Coast Symposium was professional and expertly done.  The speakers were entertaining and educational and interesting.  The virtual social rooms, after the symposium, hosted by the speakers and a virtual performance by the historical conjurer Professor D.R. Schreiber, held a mix of extended question and answer sessions, general mingling and relaxed fun with a bit of show and tell at times. For people who wouldn’t normally be able to attend this symposium as well as the regular attendees this was a bit of fun, a perfect way to spend a Saturday with Sherlockian friends and colleagues, to meet new people, learn new things and have a rousing good time. My thanks to the organizers of the Left Coast Sherlock Symposium, Patrick Ewing, Elinor Gray and Beth Gallego as well as the speakers for making this a fun and memorable event. For anyone wanting to look into their symposium for 2021 or want to know more about them, they can be contacted at https://www.leftcoastsherlock.com/

Hey girls n gays I’m gonna be quarantined for the next two weeks so send me lots of asks please- I’ll have plenty of time to answer them!
Im gonna try to keep up with the books/characters that I always keep up with digitally. Most LCSs, mine included, are small businesses, and so are the artists who rely on conventions to make a living. If you’re living in an impacted area, or had plans for a con that’s been cancelled, please consider ways to support those vendors and artists thru online sales, commissions, ko-fi tips etc. and go pick up your pull as soon as it’s safe!!!
I live in Boston and things are pretty serious out here but I’m not very worried about myself— I’m young and typically healthy. I hope you guys are able to stay safe, and act responsibly for the safety of your community.

Warship evolution….
PACIFIC OCEAN (February 27, 2019) -- United States Navy Independence-variant littoral combat ships (LCS) USS Tulsa (LCS 16), USS Manchester (LCS 14),  and USS Independence (LCS 2) sail in formation....as they train together.
These are high-speed, agile, shallow draft, mission-focused surface combatants designed for operations in the littoral (coastal) environment....yet fully capable of open-ocean operations. As part of the surface fleet, the LCS has the ability to counter and outpace evolving threats independently or within a network of surface combatants.
A total of 35 LCSs are planned to be in the Fleet by the mid-2020s. The LCSs are roughly half-Independence-variant....and half Freedom-variant.

                                                *          *          *          *
Interesting note: Later in 2019, the two variants/classes of LCSs will, with increased firepower and heavier armor added during upcoming maintenance periods, be reclassified as fast frigates (FF).
Fast frigates are smaller than a destroyer (which is smaller than a cruiser)....but highly-capable and efficient warships....
....and these two classes of new fast frigates will be able to operate closer-in to shore than most other Naval warships due to their much shallower draft (only 14.1 feet / 4.3 meters)....adding important capabilities and flexibility to the U.S. Navy Fleet.

How LCS Squared Works?
How LCS Squared Works?
Now that you know what LCS Squared is and the brains behind the operation, let’s get to the meat and potatoes of it all. How does it all come together and work for you? Think about the current CRM that you are using at the moment for your sales funnels (like Clickfunnels).
LCS Squared allows you the ability to build a system that will allow you to collect high-quality leads. This includes a sales pipeline, automated follow-ups, a tagging system, and a follow-through system that uses text messaging. But that’s just a small sample of what LCS Squared offers.
Not only that, but it will also give you the ability to put together a high-functioning landing page that will help you collect high-quality leads. This will also be useful if and when you need to build an email list so you can email your subscribers on a regular basis. You can be able to put together a list of high-quality subscribers that can become hungry, loyal customers then you’ll be in great shape.
You can even be able to leave personalized videos for your new leads as part of the onboarding process. It brings that personal touch between the business owner and lead, which may seem like a lost art in today’s business world. In a world where there is a sea of generic proposals and marketing pitches, this will give you the opportunity to rise above the boring and mundane and make your leads feel more important.
Tumblr media
Want 1,000 high-quality leads a month?
Have we got news for you. You get a pre-trained virtual assistant that will help you generate those leads.
Think about it, 1,000 high-quality leads to potential customers or clients. That might catapult your monthly income to new heights. If you have struggled to find leads, then LCS Squared might just put that to an end.
Simply put, LCS Squared is your “business in a box”. You get the products that you want to sell, a sales funnel that will help you make the money you want, and generate the leads that you need. And that’s all in one sleek-looking package.
One of the best features is the follow-up system that allows you to reach out to your leads using multiple channels. After all, following up is a must-do task if you are serious about converting leads into customers. Plus, it will be easier than ever before.
How Much Does LCS Squared Cost?
Since LCS Squared has yet to be launched, there is no price that is mentioned at the moment.
Is Lead Conversions System Square i.e. LCS Squared Legit?
hile the software has yet to be launched, it has undergone a “test run” of sorts. So far, the reviews are mostly positive. Considering that it is backed by some of the biggest names in digital marketing including Anik Singal, Ryan Levesque, and Dan Dasilva (among others), there is a likely change that this system is legitimate. Plus, the testimonials appear to be the real deal and have come from real people who were a part of this test group.
What Is Lead Conversion?
To give you a good idea of how it works, let’s start from the beginning and work our way through the process. Let’s say a potential lead stumbles across an ad on Facebook. It’s targeted towards them since they fit a certain demographic or they like a certain page.
That lead will click on your ad and will be taken to a landing page. From there, they’ll be offered a free lead magnet. In order to receive it, they’ll put in their information such as their email address.
Once they receive an email double-checking their confirmation, they confirm the subscription and will receive the lead magnet as promised. From there, the lead goes to another stage of the funnel. This time, they are considered a subscriber.
This is still a lead even if they are subscribers up to this point. Now, it’s time to convert them. One of the ways to push them through the next stage of the funnel is an email campaign. Email marketing campaigns will work in so many ways.

When traveling I make it a point to visit at least one local comic shop. This week we're in Dallas so I visited Titan Comics and am I glad I did! I found two absolute gems for just a few bucks each.
The book on the right is an old hardcover Marvel Intl reprint of X-Men #56-57. The one on the right is a Taschen Little Book of X-Men. It's not quite an index but covers highlights across most of the x-books until recent history. They'll never be worth a lot of money, but they have incredible nostalgic value for any long standing fan of the X-Men franchise.
If you're ever in Dallas, stop by Titan Comics (https://titancomics.com). It's easily one of the cleanest and well organized LCSs I've ever been too. They have a wide selection of products and the staff were very helpful.
