This is still one of my absolute favorite memories despite how my feelings about John Green and his books have changed over the past few years. I still can't believe I managed to work up the courage to talk to him at the airport when I realized he was going to be on the same flight as me to Boston for the og LeakyCon in 2009. But I just knew I would never have an opportunity like this ever again and if I didn't carpe that diem that I would regret it.

His book, Looking for Alaska, was instrumental in helping me process the grief of losing my paternal grandfather (Pops was my first time experiencing the loss of a grandparent) and I will forever be grateful to my roommate at Terminus 2008 in Chicago for introducing me to his work.

Seeing John Green waiting for me to get off the plane in Boston because his offer to me back in Indy to share a cab to the hotel we were both staying at was an actual legitimate offer and then getting to walk & talk with him through Logan International & during the cab ride to the hotel was an absolutely surreal experience but I was so grateful to have the chance to let him know how much his book meant to me.
