I find it odd how people are really critical about autistic people NOT getting diagnosed or choosing self diagnosis over professional, especially in a society/economy that does NOT like us.

If you don’t want a diagnosis, thats fine. if you do, thats also fine. stop letting (most commonly privileged) people who can only think of their personal situation tell you what’s best for you.

you guys ever think about how shadow was manipulated and used by people his whole life. not just that, but almost exclusively used by people who are technically his family. constantly having his emotions preyed upon and being tricked into doing terrible things. being told his whole life who he is and what his purpose is by other people. being dehumanized and treated as just a weapon rather than an actual person, to the point where that's how he viewed himself. identity and autonomy are soooo fucking integral to shadow's character and it makes me crazy

you GUYS i am officially enrolled in my degree i am so unbelievably happy!!!!! i have been fighting for my life to get here. i had to turn down all my uni offers when i was a teen (had to move out independantly bc of domestic violence and disability/health complications). i've always known exactly what i want to do with my life but everything got put on hold whilst i desperately tried to sort my shit out. BUT IM DOING IT NOW!!!!!

i schwear to god ur not gonna find someone who enjoys working in the grocery store against their better judgement more than me, i am so fucking autistic about this job and everyone knows how good i am at it all, but nothing kills it like the dumb corporate overlord bs. the work can be grueling, the customers can be horrific, but i have got to serve- even the irritating mystery shopper score can be coped with- but when you start picking on me about the stupidest dress code shit that’s when you lose me. like now a new manager is saying they may force us all to wear those chunky nonslip shoes within the year. i have a pair but man they hurt my fucking feet. i cant do that shit every day thats why i wear converse. i said these are nonslip man they used to play basketball in these. he said “lets spill oil on the floor and see how you do” ok girl yes! try me!

my best advice to anyone who's still in middle/high school is to make your teachers think you are the nicest sweetest purest little goody two shoes on the planet so that you can get away with breaking rules fairly openly bc your teachers either won't believe it or will view it as a very minor issue since you're the perfect student
