I'm not saying you are wrong about the bibliomancy being heresy when it is taught as doctrine, but how could that become so common if it was, because it was also something I've heard of a lot when I was younger.

It’s a misrepresentation of using scripture as a form of prayer. If you wanted to use the Bible to enlighten you, it should be more like.

Person: hey God, I need some help figuring stuff out. I’m going to utilize Lectio Divina to hear your words and enlighten me on what you want me to do.

A lot of people need a tutorial on prayer (me included). But it’s just easier to say “open the book and see what God says”

The Bible cannot be just the heritage of some, much less a collection of books for the benefit of a privileged few. Finishing up on the Bible in a Year and I gotta say...

It turns out I already read it all, minus the more boring parts of Exodus, Numbers, Joshua, Chronicles, and Kings. There are parts where I started reciting it alongside Fr. Mike because I already have it memorized from songs or being the reader at mass.

But now I can say that I have officially read it all.

e quando se sentir abandonado...

há momentos na nossa caminhada de fé que, se quisermos provar a Deus o nosso amor, é necessário que sejamos provados — porque é daí que vem a nossa purificação.

se você sente que suas orações não estão sendo ouvidas, suas preces não estão sendo atendidas, seu clamor está sendo ignorado, que sua dor é irrelevante ou até o seu arrependimento é indiferente para Deus... possivelmente você esteja vivendo, chamado assim por são joão da cruz, a noite escura da alma.

ele narra esse místico como momentos de tristeza, solidão, medo, angústia, desespero, em que a alma passa para, assim, se aproximar de Deus.

mas é preciso lembrar-lhe: você não foi abandonado.

> “Até quando, Senhor? Para sempre Te esquecerás de mim?” — davi clamando nos salmos (sl 13)

> “Clamo a Ti e não respondes.” — jó (jó 30,20)

> “Meu Deus, Meu Deus, por que me abandonaste?” — Jesus no alto da cruz (mt 27,46)

até os amigos íntimos de Deus passaram por essa experiência. você não está sozinho. a ausência sentida é parte da amizade verdadeira com Deus!

o diabo quer nos fazer acreditar que, porque caímos, Deus nos largou. e muitas vezes, o que dói não é só a culpa do pecado. é também a saudade da pureza que você sentia. mas saiba: você nunca foi mais amado do que é agora.

e sabe por quê?

o verdadeiro abandono é não sentir mais nada, é a alma fria, indiferente. você sente? você luta? então Deus está contigo! se você sente dor por ter ofendido a Deus, é porque o Espírito Santo ainda está agindo em você.

uma alma abandonada por Deus não sente mais nada. você sente dor — e a dor é a língua do amor em purificação.

e veja bem, almas abandonadas, não no sentido de Deus rejeitá-las, mas no sentido de que, pelo endurecimento do coração, elas nem sentem mais falta Dele.

é o abandono mais triste que existe — quando a pessoa já nem percebe que perdeu algo essencial.

você acha que seria mais amado se Deus te deixasse viver no pecado, sem remorso? ou se Ele te permite sentir a dor para te purificar?

o coração humano é como um campo.

quando Deus trabalha no nosso campo, Ele arranca as ervas daninhas, cava fundo, tira as pedras, planta sementes.

nas nesse processo, a terra parece machucada, bagunçada, até feia. mas dá frutos.

já um campo abandonado... é bonito à primeira vista: cheio de flores silvestres, verde por fora — mas é estéril. não dá fruto. não dá vida.

se sua alma dói, se sente machucada, bagunçada, é sinal de que Deus está trabalhando nela. o que está abandonado por Deus não sente dor — sente prazer vazio.

Deus está te conduzindo como conduziu Israel no deserto.

Ele não está ausente. Ele está te ensinando a caminhar na fé, não mais pelas emoções, mas pela confiança no que você já sabe do Coração d'Ele.

não é que Deus tenha se afastado. é que Ele está te purificando. e olha só: a maior purificação não é no corpo, é no coração. e o coração é purificado pela ausência sentida, não pela ausência real.

Deus se esconde, para que você O ame por Ele mesmo, e não apenas pelo que você sente. Deus não desistiu de você. você está mais vivo e mais precioso aos olhos Dele agora do que quando tudo era fácil.

antes, sentíamos uma felicidade tão grande depois da oração, depois da confissão... era uma alegria que nos levantava, nos dava gosto de rezar, de trabalhar pra Deus... agora, Ele esconde essa doçura. não para nos castigar — mas pra descobrirmos que amar é mais do que sentir.

o que sentimos é: “Senhor, eu rezo e não vejo nada... eu choro e não ouço nada... eu peço e não recebo nada...”

mas o que Deus vê é: “meu filho está amando mesmo sem recompensa. ele está perseverando mesmo sem consolo. ele está me buscando mesmo no escuro.”

eu sei o que é rezar de joelhos e sentir que o teto é de ferro. eu sei o que é clamar e não ouvir nada em resposta. mas hoje eu posso ver: Deus não me abandonou. Ele apenas me amava demais para me deixar presa à necessidade de sentir. Ele queria que eu O amasse no escuro, na fé, no puro amor.

e se você perseverar nessa confiança, mesmo sem sentir nada... meu irmãozinho, você vai ser capaz de um amor a Deus que nem os anjos conseguem ter!

porque os anjos veem Deus. mas você, vai amar sem ver; vai amar no escuro. vai amar por pura fidelidade.

e não existe nada, nada, mais valioso para Deus do que um coração que diz:

“mesmo que eu não te veja, eu Te amo.

mesmo que eu não Te ouça, eu creio.

mesmo que eu não sinta, eu espero.”

isso é ser santo.

e eu posso te propor algo?

vamos fazer assim, nos próximos dias, toda vez que você sentir que “Deus não me ouve”, você vai dizer pra Ele assim:

> eu te amo mesmo assim.

> eu te busco mesmo assim.

> eu espero mesmo assim.

três atos de amor puro, três passos no escuro.

você não precisa sentir que Ele ouve. você só precisa continuar confiando. e aos poucos, o sol vai voltar a nascer sobre o seu coração. não um sol de emoções, mas uma luz muito mais profunda, de fé madura.
