i get that karl urban is a beefcake but bones is not a fighter, ok? he's not violent, he's not getting into bar fights, he's not physically strong, he barely knows how to shoot a phaser, he's not working out at the gym, he's not punching people. it doesn't matter if bones is being played by deforest kelley or karl urban - he'd lose an arm wrestling match against an eight year old.

leonard mccoy is barely passable in a fight and fighting would be his last resort anyways. the man is a staunch pacifist. don't let his grumpy nature fool you into thinking otherwise.

some aos fics tend to write mccoy as a badass action hero-esque army doctor and that's just not him. leonard "just an old country doctor" mccoy is not john wicking it up in a crisis. he's gonna throw a wimpy punch that's gonna miss and then get his ass wiped. i'm sorry. it's just how he is and i love that about him. literally every other tos character throws down more than bones.

Today I went to a ttrpg-themed bar to run a oneshot and the vending maching had a bunch of cool geeky stuff and I ended up getting two pairs of d20 earrings and a colorful little LED flower crown

Was doing some research about what the Copley would have looked like when Armand ordered the entire menu and found this:

Assuming the Copley refers to the Fairmont Copley Plaza (which it must, all of the old articles I can find refer to it as just The Copley), the dining room was dominated by a rotating merry go round bar until 1978. The merry go round would finish a rotation once every hour, and you could eat dinner and sip cocktails while it went around.

There were even postcards of it that you could mail home:

By the time Daniel and Armand visited the decor had been updated, and looked something closer to this:

(this photo is from the 1960′s, surely by the 70′s it was even tackier)

So just imagine the surrealism of Daniel downing glass after glass of wine and having Armand have to help his drunk ass down off this thing, all while he goes through an emotional crisis over finding Armand hot when he laughs.

It’s no wonder they ended up together, Daniel is the only person wild enough to decide to go to dinner alone in the kind of bizarre place Armand would be attracted to.

Let's go with a character who only appeared in a few scenes but who I wouldn't exactly call minor: Breezy.

“Nope. The four of us all just kind of nodded off as we were cruising along. Woke up in the middle of a field on the mattress we’d had in back. All our stuff was accounted for too, including the three ounces of weed we’d brought for the festival.”

My brain has decided that it wants to start a new fic even though I’m currently writing one 🤷‍♀️

A Captain America AU popped into existence in my brain today and I will be writing it but for now, here’s the character list

Steve is Steve Rogers: this feels self explanatory but only child with a desperate need to help others, pushed into the spotlight with a forced persona, deeply lonely

Eddie is Bucky Barnes: this is mostly because of the Kas theory but also because Bucky is headcanoned to use a lot of pet names too

Chrissy is Peggy Carter: there won’t be any Steve Peggy romance but Chrissy feels like such a perfect match for Peggy

Vecna/Henry is Redskull: duh

Robin is Sam Wilson: I was torn between her being Nat or being Sam but I decided that her personality matches Sam better

Nancy is Natasha Romanoff: see above reasoning

Jonathan is Clint Barton: I’ve decided to just make a big polycule so I can have all my marvel ships be happy

Argyle is Laura Barton: see above lol

Hopper is Tony Stark: dude was held captive by a foreign power for information, that feels like enough

Joyce is Bruce Banner: she just has the vibe I guess

Murray is Thor: vibes

Brenner is Alexander Pierce: duh

Dr. Owens is Nick Fury: this one was tough but it feels like a good match as both of them compartmentalize a lot

I don’t know if I’ll include the kids at any point but I do have them casted

El is Wanda Maximoff: again, duh

Will is Pietro Maximoff: I couldnt separate the wonder twins

Max is Yelena Belova: she just fits so perfectly

Dustin is Peter Parker: he’s such a nerd

Lucas is Kate Bishop: this is entirely because of the slingshot
