and today on "What Song do I associate Starbula with?":
Lennon Stella - Pretty Boy
I wanna dive
Deep underneath your depths
But there's only so far that I get
Past the surfaces
Can't get past your surfaces
I wanna drive
Through the forest inside of your head
But there's only so far that I get
Been tryna make you more
More than just a pretty boy
Pretty boy
Pretty boy
More than just a pretty boy
Pretty boy
New words
Tell me something that I've never heard
And this time would be the first
That you'll be more
More than just a pretty boy
Pretty boy
Pretty boy
More than just a pretty boy
(Pretty boy)
Do you remember when you said
If I saw your trouble, I'd be scared?
Well, you're melting my heart
'Cause you won't show me your cards yet
Is that why
You build Potemkin villages to hide?
Oh, do you think I can't handle
What's going on inside?
(Pretty boy)
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Pretty boy (ooh, ooh, ooh)
Pretty boy (ooh, ooh)
More than just a pretty boy (ooh, ooh)
Pretty boy
Not surprised lol 😂 actually a little surprised tate is in my top 3 but I did listen to wish I loved you in the 90’s, r u ok, rubber band, and slower on repeat last year.
I sometimes go to concerts organised by Sofar Sounds: an unknown lineup in an unknown location, about 3 artists each playing a set of 20-40 minutes. You sign up for a show in a city, and the specific location will be revealed to the guests about 24 hours in advance. Venues are people's homes, shops, cafes, offices etc. From each artist one or two songs are recorded for YouTube. That's how I found this song (and quite a few others), by listening to the Sofar Sounds YouTube playlist. They're based all over the world, and artist can be local, unknown artists, but also could be the next big artist (for example Billie Eilish played a Sofar show before she became the global star she is now).
Of course, with all that I also have to share the original YouTube video:
This feels like an anthem for anyone who's fought for a relationship with a partner who didn't reciprocate the effort, and then when it's over, they finally realize what they lost. It's really like conversation between someone and their ex when they try to convince you to take them back! Have a listen!!🌻
