#lessen debt burden

Text
Vice President Kamala Harris announced this week that the Biden administration is looking to lessen the burden medical debt has on people by purging it from their credit report. This means that even if people have piles of medical debt — one in five Americans say they do — it’s not going to affect their ability to get a mortgage or a car loan. So they will at least have a place to rest their head and a car they can drive to work every day while paying off their medical bills.
Via AP:
Harris said that would make it easier for them to obtain an auto loan or a home mortgage. Roughly one in five people report having medical debt. The vice president said the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is beginning the rulemaking process to make the change. The agency said in a statement that including medical debt in credit scores is problematic because “mistakes and inaccuracies in medical billing are common.” “Access to health care should be a right and not a privilege,” Harris told reporters in call to preview the action. “These measures will improve the credit scores of millions of Americans so that they will better be able to invest in their future.”
It only seems fair that high medical bills for an emergency or serious illness shouldn’t affect one’s credit rating anyway. It’s not like we’re talking about someone irresponsibly dropping several grand at Versace and then never paying off the credit card bill. Fifty-seven percent of Americans could not afford a surprise $1000 emergency, so the inability to pay off massive amounts of medical debt is hardly a fair reflection of an inclination to default on normal payments — payments you can budget for — on something like a mortgage or auto loan. “Way to be irresponsible by getting cancer, lady! You should definitely be punished for that by not being able to find any place to live!” seems pretty harsh, no?

my family is struggling to pay student loan debt for a degree I couldn't finish, while my ability to work has become 0.
Tumblr media
I have $655.51 of overdue balance. We have tried to work out payment plans, but it still comes to around $150 a month *just* to get back on track, and the loan amount still comes to ~$8,500.
I would love nothing more than to not burden my already struggling family with more debt, as I am unable to earn money myself.
You can donate to me via the methods below:
ko-fi
CA: $ajbkow
paypal: ask (for deadname reasons)
or tip me here on Tumblr.
I cannot stress enough that any amount helps to lessen the financial burden on my already struggling family. Thank you.

----- ⚘ -----
Quiet, like the snow
The air around him feels hazy and thick, like breathing through a heavy mist. He leans on his spear, panting lightly as he tries to regain his bearings.
Xiao’s job is easy. He clears the Liyue countryside from the spreading evil and keeps the fury of the slumbering, slain gods at bay. Today has been a day like any other, there is nothing remarkable about today that would cause him to feel as disoriented as he is.
Unless, he thinks distantly, he forgot to cleanse his karma recently.
Oh no.
The next stretch of time is a blur, Xiao only distantly remembers stumbling toward… something, and fighting more monsters along the way. There is only him, and his spear, and the screams of bygone divinity in his head as he throws himself headlong into each battle.
Before he knows it, he’s in his room at Wangshu Inn, the walls sparsely decorated with paper warding charms, lying stretched out on his bed. A stick of incense has been lit, because a faintly sweet smell permeates the air, cutting through the odor of sickly sweat he must be giving off.
There’s the faint sound of humming that soothes his aching heart, an old tune that was first sung in the time of the archon war. You.
His eyes creak open and he blinks into the low light, sluggishly bringing one hand to his forehead, where his fingers touch a cold, wet compress. A noise escapes him, and the humming comes to a fading stop.
“Xiao’er? How are you feeling?”
Your cool touch replaces his own calloused palm. You smooth over his face, moving his hair from his eyes, and he beholds you at last. One of the last remaining survivors of the archon war, and heir to one of the only peaceful adeptus clans, you’ve been by his side and tending to his karmic debt for as long as he’s ever known.
The only thing he never managed to ruin with his own hands.
He breathes your name as you stroke his cheek with your thumb, and something that’s not quite a smile blooms on his lips.
“You forgot to ease your karmic burden, silly,” you chastise him, clicking your tongue and shaking your head. You have a remarkable talent of making him feel like a child again, he thinks.
The pounding in his head lessens as you draw a fresh washcloth over his skin, cleansing him both physically and spiritually. Where normally he would grouse and complain, and you would chastise him for it during the entire process, this time he feels only relief from the overwhelming pain.
You resume your humming as you gently reattach the prayer beads around his neck, and the soothing charms on it come into effect immediately. Alertness returns to him as he realizes the position he put you in.
“My- my karma-” he mumbles as he tries to push you away, already scooting himself to the far side of the bed and trying to sit up.
“Oh, no you don’t!” You say softly but firmly, slipping the last cleansed and reinforced charm onto his belt. “I spent the better part of the last two days making sure you were properly seen to, and I feel perfectly fine.”
He lifts his arm in wonder and flexes his hand, face betraying none of his thoughts. It’s the first time in a long time that he’d allowed you to perform a full cleanse, though it occurred against his will, and the improvement to his chronic pain is significant.
He feels the bed dip as you sit beside him, watching him eagerly to see how he feels. His mouth opens and closes a few times, awkwardly trying to voice his thoughts. Instead, you give him an understanding smile and lean into him, kissing the corner of his eye delicately.
“You’re very welcome,” you murmur, and he leans into you in return, his mind quiet for the first time in months.

White Sheets
You get the doll by accident, really. You’d been passing by the antique shop every day for the past few weeks, and there’s just something about the poor thing sitting alone in a dusty corner of the window display that called to you. It’s almost uncanny how lifelike it seems, sitting perfectly poised in a simple wooden chair, holding some sort of japanese square-shaped string instrument in one hand. If it weren’t for the wood-grain texture, the chipped and worn paint, you would swear it’s a real person.
He’s a delicate thing, made of pale wood and dark hair that’s been carefully straightened and combed for many years, his eyes seemingly glued shut. His clothes are a little ratty, a pale lavender kimono with a darker purple obi, and a sheer veil that feels like it would crumble if you touched it a little too roughly.
He’s an iki ningyo, you learn, one of several old japanese dolls famous for their lifelike quality. This one is especially remarkable for having articulated joints. The shopkeep seems surprised to hear you’re interested in the doll, claiming that several people have bought it in the past and all of them have returned it, each one saying that the doll was too creepy to keep in their house.
He’s not creepy, you tell the shopkeep, he’s just a little lonely.
That’s how you head home with your arms full of a life sized wooden doll, looking for all the world like you’re lugging around a dead body, which earns you a few strange looks from passers-by on the way.
You settle him in your craft corner, where several of your other doll restoration projects lay unfinished. You sweep the smaller dolls aside, maneuvering your iki ningyo onto the desk and position him in a seated position. It looks almost as if he’s relaxing.
Over the next few weeks, you slowly chip away at the restoration project. First you repaired the cracks and chips with wood filler, sanding the surfaces down to perfect smoothness. Then you remove the doll’s clothes, mindlessly apologizing to it for the indignity (a habit you’d picked up ages ago, of talking to your projects as if they could hear you), and sew a brand new identical kimono with fabric that was much too expensive for your weekly budget, though you can’t say you regret it, seeing how it looks on him.
You carefully lubricate the articulated joints, and are delighted to find that its eyes are articulated as well, but they are stuck shut. It takes some time, especially being careful not to damage anything as you chip off the old dried glue. You gasp when you finally manage to pry one open after many hours of hard work, the lavender iris hidden behind the rolling eyelid shocking you with its vibrancy.
The night you open the doll’s eyes is when things start to get weird.
The area around your craft bench feels a little colder than the rest of the room, and floors creak even when you’re not walking. The buzzing of the cicadas outside ceases when you’re working on the doll, and sometimes you find your craft tools on the floor when you’re sure you’d secured them on the desk.
Your dreams are filled with images of dark rooms and raised voices and hands grabbing you left and right, being shoved from one empty closet to another, and of cold nights alone in a windowsill watching everyone in the glow of the streetlights as they pass you by.
As you’re gently painting his skin back to its proper shade, having been discoloured by time and sanded off in several places, one of his eyes rolls open. You stop what you’re doing and stare at him, wondering if maybe the eyelid somehow came loose as you were working. When nothing happens for a few seconds you quietly apologize for disturbing him, closing his eye gently with the pad of your thumb, and assure him that you will be finished with the repairs soon.
You tilt his head back and carefully drag your brush along his jaw, covering some spots that had been sanded down during your repairs. Something wet brushes against your hand, and you look up in shock to see that a fat drop of the clear lubricating oil spilled from the doll’s closed eye, leaving a shining track on his face, almost like a tear.
It’s enough to shake you to your core. You end the repair process for the evening, thanking the doll for his patience, and quickly retreat to your room. Is this what the shopkeeper had meant by ‘creepy’?
For the next few days nothing new happens. You put the finishing touches on the doll, admiring your own handiwork and moving him around, checking to make sure you hadn’t forgotten anything. You move him to the living room, seating him on one of the chairs and posing him similarly to how he was in the shop, his repaired instrument in hand.
You lean down and kiss the top of the doll’s head, thanking him for his patience and hoping he likes his new home. The doll bends slightly under the pressure of your lips pressing against him, the sound of his wooden joints rasping against each other reaching your ears, and for a moment you can almost pretend it’s a sigh of relief.
That night, you dream of a happy boy in a pale kimono, smiling at you gratefully with shining lavender eyes, and playing a gentle song for you on his shamisen.

The Only Medicine
As the apprentice of the famed Doctor Baizhu, you find yourself in high demand. You’re much more willing to travel than your sickly master, though he does make occasional house calls if the situation is dire enough, and you have sufficient training by now to handle most cases on your own.
Which is how you find yourself traveling Teyvat with your strange partner from Sumeru.
Wanderer came into your live like an avalanche, sweeping debris and destruction right up to your front step.
He came to you in the dead of night—you’d been staying in Ghandarva Ville to help the forest watchers with an influx of digestion issues related to the rations they’d eaten—carrying the tiny body of a child in one hand and securing his hat, askew on his head, with the other. You hadn't even hesitated, bringing them both into your temporary residence and tending to the child as efficiently as you could.
He’d been cleansing a nearby Withering zone, you learn, and found the child who had wandered in by accident. You commend him for his quick reaction in bringing him here, and he was fascinated with how well you treated the child’s injuries.
You were surprised, given his initial impression, that he was actually pretty temperamental. The morning after you’d treated the child, Wanderer acted as if he’d never met you at all. He didn’t greet you, didn’t bother asking how things went, and left you without so much as a ‘goodbye’. You resigned yourself to never seeing the strange traveler again.
But you did. You ran into him again and again as you toured Sumeru, and each time he would bring you a new patient. You almost asked how he kept running into injured people, and if he was the one causing the injuries, but you held your tongue and treated every patient he brought. You like to think you built a pretty good rapport with the strange man, hoping he sees you as reliable as a medical professional, and trustworthy as a person.
Unbeknownst to you, he was actively seeking ways to approach you. Your kind but strict demeanor enchanted him, and the way you cared for everyone regardless of age, gender, or status reminded him of Buer (not that he’d tell her that).
Somewhere in the back of his mind, he wanted to believe you would treat him with the same grace with which you treat everyone else. He wanted to believe he could deserve that.
Your paths next cross in Aaru Village, where he finds you wrapping a few sunburns and a broken ankle. The people flock to you asking for help for various ailments, many of which you inform them will need more extensive care, and you leave instructions with the local doctor, Maruf.
He’d been sent here by Nahida, asked to check up on the recovery of the ones who had been village keepers, and to make sure things in the Village are going well. He didn’t expect to be tasked with investigating one of the run-down shacks on the edge of the village that had been serving as a warehouse until it partially collapsed.
Surely nothing will happen to him, he thinks. Of course that’s when the other half of the warehouse decides to collapse on him.
Several things happen at once, where he feels the clay bricks bury him, and then somebody across the bridge screams, and there’s a sudden flash of green as dendro activates somewhere above him. And then everything is dark.
Somewhat alarmingly, he regains consciousness on a cot in a dim room almost entirely disrobed, which is a strange sensation because the last time he was in a situation like this he had been recovering from his defeat at the Traveler’s hands.
He sits up, uncaring of his physical state, and finds himself very neatly repaired despite knowing he must have absolutely shattered underneath that building. The magic in his body is already well on the way to fusing the pieces of himself back together. He presses on one of the cracks, and his fingertip comes away with sticky, partially dried medical glue.
He gets up and first locates his hat and his haori, choosing to forgo the bodysuit at the moment. Once he’s sure he can make it out of the room without stumbling, he heads for the door to look for the one he is sure took care of him.
He finds you outside, sitting on the ground and playing with children. They toss a zaytun peach pit in the air and you attempt to scoop up as many harra fruit seeds as possible before the pit falls down to bounce on the smooth road surface. There is a freedom to you that he only knows on the wind, when he calls for Anemo to lift him into the air and carry him where his whims desire.
He watches you play the game for a while, inexplicably irritated at the lack of your attention on him, before clearing his throat to alert you of his presence.
You turn to look at him in surprise, earning yourself the peach pit hitting your head as it comes down to announce the end of the current round. The children laugh at you as you stand up, excusing yourself from the game as nicely as possible. You pick your way through the group until you’re standing in front of him, a carefree smile on your face.
“Is this how you spend your time, doctor?” Wanderer asks, gesturing at the children behind you. “What if your patient needed supervision? Would you leave them alone in a room to fend for themselves?”
“I think most of my patients would not be up and about after having a building collapse on them,” you remark, still smiling. “I have treated gods and Adepti before, so I know when my patient will be alright on their own.”
He wonders, then, what kind of medical training you’d received under your master’s tutelage to have such a wide variety of patronage. It takes a second to realize what it is you’re not saying. He looks at you in mild surprise and points to his own chest, where several cracks in his body are just barely visible beneath the neckline of his haori.
You nod. “You must understand, I have extensive experience with treating people who do not have the, ah, typical human physique.” You gracefully avoid saying ‘inhuman’, which Wanderer thinks is impractical but he appreciates the discretion nonetheless. “So, that is to say, if you are ever in need of medical care in the future, I hope you know you can rely on me.”
Wanderer thinks about this for a bit. He knows it would be practical to have someone knowledgeable in repairing him, in the event he is unable to repair himself.
It would also, his mind whispers to him, allow him to become closer to you.
Before he can think too hard about it, he nods in agreement. It’s worth it to see the cheerful smile on your face.

greetings! i heard that you are looking for genshin fluff requests, so i am here to deliver: perhaps headcanons on how genshin characters relax on a day off? like staying in or just being able to do stuff they usually wouldn't? if you'd like some characters: kaeya, ayato, thoma, childe, neuvillette, kaveh (feel free to take this as more of a prompt than request!)
hello anon ! thanks so much for your prompt/request :)) i hope this is okay <3 side note, why are half of the names blue T_T /lh
genshin men relaxing on a day off - kaeya, thoma, ayato, childe, neuvillette, kaveh
spoilers for 4.2 archon quest and kaveh hangout.
Tumblr media
Kaeya is often kept quite busy with paperwork, and with helping lessen the burden of the acting grandmaster. days off for him aren’t common, so he finds himself catching up with acquaintances, often times over a drink at angel’s share or a meal at good hunter. of course, he drinks a lot of wine during this time, so the other knights know that if the calvary captain has a day off, he’ll be late to work the next day.
Thoma is usually occupied with housework or with helping others around the city. when he’s given some time off, he likes to have hotpot at komore teahouse, catch up with friends and give snacks and treats to the little animals he sees while out and about. when the months start to get colder, he willingly knits tiny sweaters and scarfs for his animal friends, even making a sweater for taroumaru.
Ayato is a very busy man. being the head of the kamisato clan means near constant work, so it’s extremely rare that he gets a break. if he does get a day off, you can thank Ayaka for that, she sees how hard he brother works and so takes over his responsibilities for some time while he rests. he spends this time visiting his favourite boba stand, and sampling some food served on the streets of inazuma city.
Childe may not be an office worker, but he spends his work time training or scheming for the fatui. when he has time off, he loves to fish, specifically ice fishing. of course, when his main mission is complete, he keeps his promise and returns to his family in snezhnaya. with gifts in tow, he spends precious time with his loved ones and enjoys his time away from work.
Neuvillette is a man devout to work. being the iudex, leader of the marechaussee phantom and the hydro sovereign means he practically never has time to spare for breaks. if he ever has a short time to spare, he enjoys water tasting and visiting the melusines. when he does, he often brings them small treats from a local bakery, though this is quite rare because of his work. the melusines very much look forward to seeing their father whenever he is free.
Kaveh regularly has both new and returning clients, and so has many priority commissions to work on. this leaves him working late at night, much to the dismay of alhaitham. whenever he’s finished with the most pressing commissions, he takes some well-earned time off. with this time, he usually drinks his sorrows away at lambad’s tavern, opting to drown in wine rather than his debts. at times, though, he instead wants to spend his free time surrounded by love from his friends. he seldom plans it, instead hinting that he wants to get together but saying he has a day off soon. while he might not get drunk, he knows in his heart that dinner with friends is the best way to spend his time away from the stress of work.

Broken Hearts Make Broken Worlds
Tumblr media
Read on AO3
She stumbled upon the oasis after a month of walking.
The cracked earth giving way to softer soil, the brown monotone giving way to flickers of green; the only warning of the blinding vibrancy to come. The blades of grass turned from individuals into a lush fur that made Lena whimper, her callused and hardened soles lovingly stroked with each step. Colours came fast and quick, popping pinks, intimidating purples, royal blues and burnished golds patterned the landscape.
Lena knew after spending her entire life in the Shadowlands - where the only brightness came from the flash of white teeth set between snarling lips and the drips of crimson that followed from whoever had faced her brother’s twisted smile - that she would never get used to the vividness of this new world she had stepped into.
She came upon the lake after four days; pale, grubby fingers with chipped nails having tenderly touched each new plant and piece of life that wouldn’t recoil from her dark semblance. She’d gratefully licked the moisture from leaves and sucked the nectar from the fruit that had fallen. She tried not to take anything more than she needed; she knew the cost that would inevitably follow and she’d learnt from a young age to keep her debts low else face having to bargain with the little she had to her name.
It was hard though, the entire oasis was a symphony of sirens, offering her safe shelter under wide leafed trees, and unbroken earth to sleep on.
The lake was the most tempting thing of all. The water clear and cool, but not glacial. A place to truly quench her thirst and try to wash away the lifetime of stains that marked her. She slipped off the ragged cloak she’d been wearing eagerly, dark breeches and loose shirt following after until she was bare under the sun that previously was unforgiving but was now warm and invigorating. She slid into the water, feeling the marrow-deep ache lessen and the burdens that weighed her down float harmlessly alongside her.
The dirt in her hair and skin coalesced, leeching to freedom but marring the clarity of the water. She laid back, allowing buoyancy to raise her worn body to the surface, saturating in the sun. She stayed there, watching her once enemy move across the sky, until her skin shaded pink and the dangers of sleeping came close to being realised. She lowered her feet to the underbed, hair slicked back out of the way as she turned to the shore.
There was a figure standing by her discarded clothing, someone bright and shiny to match the world she’d fallen into.
Lena shoved down the fear that rose in her chest, clawing up her throat and trying to seize control of her tongue.
This was not a cracked and broken world.
This was not the Shadowlands where each crevasse you created by destroying the lives of others was an emblem of victory and distinction.
This was not her once-home where she slept between scars of the earth and was expected to add to her family’s trophies.
The fear retreated back and her screams went unvoiced. Her body moved on instinct, arms cutting through the undulating water, head dropping down between each stroke. Upon reaching the shore, she found herself alone.
Her clothes were untouched.
Instead, there were replacements. Brown trousers, loose and fitting, light and quick to dry. A shirt crisp white - an impossible achievement in the Shadowlands, scarlet seeping into and overwhelming any flash of purity. There was even a cloak, green and embroidered by a delicate hand.
She considered the offering, hesitant to use the term gift.
Gifts were a myth; a dream the Shadowland disabused you of quickly enough.
A gift requires no payment and no such thing existed in Lena’s once home.
The new clothes were high-quality, and her old ones would not last much longer.
She’d already indulged in the oasis and would be charged, adding the clothes seemed paltry in comparison to how it had saved her life and fed her spirit. She pulled them on, letting out a helpless sigh of appreciation as she wrapped the cloak around her shoulders.
Once dressed she used the rags that were her old clothes as kindling to make a fire by the lake-shore, aware that her visitor would likely return once she was settled.
She didn’t have to wait long.
A fish - still flopping and gasping for breath - in a well constructed basket was placed by her side.
“Hungry?” Asked the oasis keeper, voice melodious and cheerful with the barest hint of melancholy.
There is nothing more beautiful than something damaged, Lex’s voice whispered inside her head.
“Always.” Lena replied far too honestly - this place had bared itself to Lena, it only felt honourable to bare herself in return. Not that Lena knew much of honour, having to carve out her sense of morality by reaching into the unknown, taking roads no one in the Shadowlands would ever consider treading on.
“Well, that won’t do.” The oasis keeper hummed, stepping into the light cast by the fire, providing Lena her first true glimpse of the woman.
If the oasis could take human form, there is no doubt it would be this woman’s handsome appearance it would claim.
She was tall, with eyes like the brightest summer day and hair like the gleaming rocks her family would demand poor souls retrieve from the caverns of night. She stood at ease, safe in her surroundings and unafraid of what could be lurking in the darkness - a confidence that could only come from someone who had never seen monsters or had vanquished more than her fair share of them. She smiled quickly, there was an earnestness to her defined features that her brother would have paid an arm and a leg for - there is nothing more dangerous than a trustworthy face.
Lena pulled the cloak tighter around herself, wariness keeping her on edge - the woman was too beautiful to be real and too handsome to be kind.
The oasis keeper kept her distance as she gutted the fish with practised ease, pulling a sharp blade from beneath her blue cloak. She didn’t watch Lena, or even shoot her furtive glances, she turned her back without fear of reprisal whilst Lena’s hands clenched into fists at her sides awaiting a sudden strike.
The fish was cooked to perfection and Lena consumed it without care for formality, finally dropping her gaze away from the other woman to grant her unfettered attention to the fulfilling meal.
“Here.”
Lena glanced over, the oasis keeper was watching her with a curious expression, holding out the other half of the fish.
“Eat it.” The oasis keeper gently insisted when Lena hesitated.
Lena wasn’t strong enough to refuse, grabbing the offered flesh with both hands, consuming each edible flake. Her stomach felt distended and heavy afterwards and her eyes drooped without prompt.
“Thank you.” Lena mumbled quietly as the oasis keeper poked at the embers of the fire, stoking life back into it and encouraging it to catch on the newly added logs.
“You’re welcome.” The oasis keeper said simply.
Lena wanted to curl up, pull her new cloak around herself and drift off into what will inevitably be the best slumber of her life; but whilst her guard was down, it was not entirely absent. She eyed the oasis keeper, wanting them to either lay out the terms of her indenture or leave her in peace until the morrow.
She did neither. The oasis keeper merely continued to tend to the fire.
xxx
She woke the next morning to another refreshingly bright day, having unintentionally fallen asleep the previous night; the ashes of her fire were still glowing with residual heat indicating that it had only recently died. There was a parcel of food, fresh fruit and nuts to break her fast placed by her head.
There was no sign of the oasis keeper, so Lena spent the morning getting to know the surrounding area. She ventured around the lake, but it was so wide she could not see the other side nor how far it extended. If the water hadn’t been fresh and free from salt, she would think she had discovered the ocean that her father once claimed to have raised a tsunami from by killing a woman who was so dearly loved by an entire clan that a canyon inadvertently cleaved the sea bed to contain the grief.
With survival no longer her only motivation, Lena could explore and study until her heart’s content. She made note of the trees, the conditions that they seemed to thrive in, which ones grew closer to the lake shore and which preferred more sheltered inland locations. She returned to her once-fire late in the afternoon, mind buzzing with new knowledge to find flames already rising and the oasis keeper standing up to the waist in water nearby, cloak abandoned, and shirt sodden - clinging to defined musculature as a curved, rigid arm held a spear aloft.
Lena felt a rush of heat that the fire could claim little responsibility for. Her cheeks pinkened with the realisation and she hurried to pile up a stack of kindling whilst the oasis keeper caught them another meal.
The oasis keeper returned, two large fish in hand, and a proud smile lighting up her face.
Lena took over cooking this time, keen to chip off a small part of her debt even if it barely impacted the total.
“Do you have a name?” The oasis keeper inquired, as Lena half watched the cooking fish and half watched the stranger.
“Names are dangerous where I come from.” Lena answered, pressing her lips into a flat-line.
A crease, far prettier than those that tore up the ground, appeared between eyebrows. “Why?”
“Names can be used to identify attachments. They show familiarity. Affection.”
Lena remembered a man with flaming hair, a traveller who sang pretty songs and told tall tales, he’d made a joke at her brother’s expense. One of many over a long evening, and the only one directed at Lex was so minor it would have barely prickled at anyone else’s pride. But it was a slight, and even a pinprick of a needle required extreme retribution by the King of Shadows. He’d tortured the traveller, his screams echoing into the litany of crevices. He held tight to his name for longer than most but gave it up like everyone else eventually. It was all Lex needed; seekers traced the name back to a village, back to a woman with two sons with flaming hair. The shadowlands grew in size that day and Lex added another piece of broken earth to his fearsome reputation.
“What if I gave mine in exchange?” The oasis keeper asked seriously.
“Why would you do that?” Lena paused, gaze narrowing as she tried to parse the hidden reasoning. “You could demand mine and I would still not have paid off half of the debt I have incurred.”
“What debt?” The oasis keeper murmured, the crease deepening to a crevasse which would have made Lena’s family consider her worthy enough to take her back.
“What debt?” Lena repeated, jaw clenching and attention fully removed from the food.
The oasis keeper nodded.
“Your land has provided me with nourishment and shelter when I was on the verge of extinction.” Lena explained, chin raised as she laid out the items she had bought without care for the price. “You have clothed me and allowed me to bathe. This oasis has expanded the horizons of my mind, where it once was pressed against tight walls. I owe you a life debt.”
“This land is as much yours as it is mine.” The oasis keeper said with a dismissive wave of the hand. “I do not own it, its gifts are available to any to claim.”
Lena breathed harshly through her nose. “That’s not how it works.”
“Maybe it is in the Shadowlands, but not here.”
Lena flinched; the oasis keeper raised an eyebrow at her.
“Did you think I do not know what exists beyond this place?” The oasis keeper asked. “That I have been eternally sheltered here?”
Lena pressed her lips tight together, keeping her expression blank.
“I know the horrors out there.” The oasis keeper whispered. “My grief has split the Earth asunder and left behind bottomless pits.”
Lena inhaled sharply as blue eyes shifted to reflective chasms.
“If anyone owes this place a debt it is I,” The oasis keeper confessed, “and yet… I find this place continues to give without a single request for something in return. You owe me nothing, I can assure you.”
“Not even for the clothes?”
The oasis keeper’s mouth ticked up at the side in amusement, “They were too small for me anyway.”
Lena bristled at that which merely made the oasis keeper release a chuckle - a sound that Lena could live off if allowed to.
“Clearly you have developed kinship with the plants and learnt to gain height with the aid of the sun.” Lena remarked.
“If you are to mock me, do me the kindness of using my name as you do so.” The oasis keeper requested, still smiling broadly. “My name is Kara.”
There is danger in a name, but that is only because you wish to grasp it despite the barbs that encompass it, and Lena wanted to hold on with both hands - one syllable in either fist.
“Kara.” Lena repeated, tasting it in her mouth, how her tongue formed it like it had been saying it for decades. “Lena.” She offered once the sweet taste of Kara’s name had started to fade.
“Lena.” Kara whispered, and Lena couldn’t help but hope she was savouring it too. “You are burning our dinner, Lena.”
Lena jolted, head snapping round to discover the truth of the declaration.
They ate their fish accompanied by a bitter, ashy aftertaste. Kara made no comment on the less than satisfactory cooking but Lena was acutely aware of her puckered lips which revealed her distaste.
“If I offered you a roof and a bed would you insist on unnecessarily paying me back?” Kara asked once dinner had been consumed.
“No, especially considering you could have offered it to me the previous night.” Lena shot back, earning her a bark of laughter as Kara stretched and got to her feet.
“You’re not the only one wary of strangers.” Kara explained simply.
“And we are no longer strangers now?” Lena questioned, accepting Kara’s hand - their rough palms brushing together with pleasant friction - as she was tugged to her feet.
“We have exchanged names.”
“And that makes me trustworthy?” Lena mused, raising an eyebrow as she found herself standing within Kara’s personal space, breaths almost mingling.
“Well, I can’t imagine you hurting me any worse than your cooking.” Kara smirked.
Lena frowned but held her tongue… for now anyway.
Kara’s home was a short walk from the lake, nestled on a hill. It was clean and well-built. There were two mattresses filled with straw and an array of blankets to stave the chill that would inevitably come with winter. A small chimney was nestled into the corner of the one-room abode and there were trinkets tucked here, there and everywhere, allowing the colours of the oasis to seep in the under dour construction materials.
“There’s a village nearly a day's walk away from here, I trade with them for the little I need.” Kara explained when Lena eyed the fabrics and tools.
“I’m surprised more people don’t live near the lake, taking advantage of the oasis’ bounty.” Lena remarked.
“It’s relatively new.” Kara replied, moving to straighten the blankets on the mattresses.
“The village?”
“The oasis.”
Lena’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “It… underwent rapid expansion?”
Kara hummed, “Rapid, indeed. I was stumbling through the desert and collapsed, when next I opened my eyes I found my feet dipped in the shallows of the lake, and a bed of green beneath my head.”
“That’s impossible.”
Kara turned to face her, “You live in a world where the Earth shatters itself in sympathy when a heart is broken. Is it so absurd to think that it can blossom to show its compassion?”
“Yes.” Lena said simply.
“Why?”
“Because…” Lena licked her lips, thinking about a traveller who begged for death if it meant saving his sons, about a mother who sent her children away before they could be used as weapons against her and about a brother that sneered at his sister who was yet to make a single chip in the ground. “Why would sympathy extend to everyone but compassion to only a few?”
Kara deflated at the question, shuffling towards the mattress that was clearly her own and sitting down, “I don’t know.”
Lena sighed, claiming the unoccupied bed, and slipping under the blankets - her entire body losing years worth of tension as she settled in.
“Kara?” Lena murmured, as Kara readied herself for bed.
“Hmm?”
“I’m glad it showed compassion to you.” Lena declared, causing Kara to go still.
“Goodnight, Lena.” Kara said eventually.
“Goodnight, Kara.”

Now let’s say it’s not Varys who goes to him but reader…he might thing she’s there to free him but no! Dungeon Sex!
@dorkybimbo dayum!!!! so much ANGST!!!!

It's been three days since the Hand of the King, Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell, has been accused of treason and thrown into the dungeons under the Red Keep. Y/N misses him, predictably, and curses herself for her stupidity. She KNEW he was beyond saving, and yet she's made enough place for him in her heart to let herself be wounded by his downfall, and that's being fucking weak. And she hates that.
Since Lord Stark is gone, she's lost her most generous patron, and so Baelish has been using her as his personal cumdump of the week. One time, when she's sucking his dick, he's feeling talkative.
"You know the poor idiot tried to pay your debt? He wanted to buy your freedom, he though I'd let you go if he just asked nicely".
Y/N chokes on his cock. Lord Stark did WHAT?
"Yes," Baelish snorts, misinterpreting her reaction. "I thought that was funny too," he muses. "I only regret that I didn't get to fuck you in the ass with him as our audience. Maybe I'd even invite him to join us, if I was feeling cruel enough."
****
The only things Ned's had for the past five days were moldy bread and water from a puddle in his cell. But the worst of the worst are the constant thoughts of his daughters. Are they safe? Is Catelyn, and everyone in at Winterfell safe? And... What became of Y/N? Was she named his conspirator? Will she suffer too, more than she already has?
One of his questions, at least, is promptly answered, when the lock on the iron door ratles, and next thing Ned knows is no other than Y/N herself that enters his cell. She looks good, no worse for the wear, and that lessens his burden some.
"I doubt Littlefinger's courtesy extends to this prison cell," Ned says bitterly, "so tell me, on whose behalf are you here?"
"The Queen's," her answer comes. "She means to offer you mercy if you bend the knee and don black," she pauses and sighs before continuing, "and I, for one, think you should agree."
"Why?" asks Ned. "What good will it do? It'll only perpetuate her lies and strenghten her position."
"But you'd live," she says quietly, and Ned feels something warm in his chest at the thought that she cares whether he lives or dies. He can no longer hold back from spilling his thoughts. "Tell me, what of my daughters? Are they safe?" he asks quietly.
"They're wards of the crown now, and Sansa is still betrothed to Joffrey," Ned scowls, hearing that. "They're safe as can be, given the circumstances, but that may yet change. Which is why you should take the deal."
"Promise me you'll get them out," he pleads, past caring for any dignity of his. "Please, grant me this one thing. They should not suffer for my choices."
She doesn't even hesitate that long bofore aqueiscing, and that's another surprise for Ned. He's not known her to be self-sacrificing. "I'll try," she simply says, and takes a tentative step in his direction. "Ned," she says, and he thinks his name sounds lovely on her lips. She's never called him simply Ned before, but then, much has changed since he's las seen her. "Did you try to settle my debt with Baelish?"
It pains Ned that she sounds so surprised and disbelieving. She had so little faith in him, and still he managed to let her down. He's disgusted with himself.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I have failed you," he drops his head to hide his shame. "I... my assets have been seized, but Ser Jory still has some of my coin. Go to him, he knows that a part of it was meant for you. It's not that much, but maybe it..." he stops only when he feels her graceful finger touch his mouth.
"Shhh," she soothes him, cradling his head in her arms. When has she gotten so close?
He shies away from her first kiss. He's had only rats for companions for some nights and he's... not his best self at the moment. Even so, she starts unlacing his shift, undeterred. He covers his embarrassment with sarcasm.
"And on who's bidding you're acting now? Who do I thank? Baelish? The Queen? Is this some new torture of their design?" Ned did not mean to sound so bitter, but he's at his wits' end. He knows he's going to die soon, and that she's in the employ of his enemies, and that for Catelyn's sake alone he should refuse her. But he's only a man, and he's wanted her for so long, and her touch... it feels heavenly.
She kisses him on the mouth, then. And he just can't help himself.
"No, Ned," she says softly against his lips, as she snakes her hand into his breeches. "This one's for me. For us."
listen I'm sorry for being horny in your asks for the past few days I just caught the hots for the wolf man its a condition pray for me ya'll. that and your blog feels like a safe space to fantasise <3
I adore everything you bring to me; it's amazing and you write so well and just perfection!!! So glad you come over here <3
Since Lord Stark is gone, she's lost her most generous patron, and so Baelish has been using her as his personal cumdump of the week. One time, when she's sucking his dick, he's feeling talkative. Oh we can be so dark here..and i love it more than i should.
Poor ned! Bless his little heart..he gets one last treat before he goes

BEFORE THE BEGINNING
For one of the fics that I subtley pushed my influence on you in writing 😎😏
the prequel to salt flat blues, my teyla and rodney saltmates story, from teyla's pov this time
Teyla missed her sister.
It had been years since she had been culled, Kusi had been gone longer than she had been alive and Teyla still felt the hole in her heart. She missed the times when they could sit and talk about everything, gossip about the boys and what they had seen off world when they had accompanied. She remembered the sly smiles as Kusi would lean forward and whisper something she had seen and it took all of Teyla’s strength not to start laughing.
Kusi had pushed Teyla out of the way of a culling beam, sacrificing herself to save Teyla. It was a debt Teyla would never be able to repay. The pain lessened as time went on, but the loss was always there. Only hours apart and now years separated them. Teyla could see Kusi whenever she looked in the mirror and it helped, being able to pretend her sister was still alive.
Especially when the burden of leadership came, and she was separate from the others because of it. And stretched even more distant as she spent time on Atlantis, doing her best for her people, helping a man she had saved the same way Kusi had saved her. A debt paid forward.
But she was still lonely, still missed the way Kusi would smile and lean in, ready to tell Teyla some piece of gossip, a smirk on her face, mischief in her eyes.
She glanced up when Rodney slammed a tray onto the table and sat down, looking pissed off and scowling at his food.

do you have any advice for someone going to an expensive university and dealing with loans and student loans and the biden forgiveness plan and explain how that not working is going to affect us ?:( everything just seems so bleak and hard to understand even though it's literally going to affect the rest of my life :(
So the good news is that despite the Supreme Court's recent decision, the Biden administration is proposing a new student debt relief plan, so people who have federal student loan debt may still end up seeing some amount of debt be forgiven. However, that new plan may take time to implement, at least a year or more.
So for now, there are a few things that are important to understand:
The Saving on a Valuable Education, or SAVE Plan, will cut down the amount borrowers have to make on monthly payments by half — to just 5% of their disposable income, down from 10%. This new SAVE plan will replace the existing Revised Pay As You Earn, or REPAYE, plan and “will go into effect this summer,” according to the U.S. Department of Education’s website.
When payments resume in October, the Department of Education will not refer missed payments to credit reporting agencies for 12 months. This means that missed payments won't negatively impact a person's credit score, cause them to default, or cause the loan to be sent to a collections agency.
Before loan repayment starts:
Make sure your contact information is current. Go to studentaid.gov — part of the Education Department’s website — to update your contact information. You want to make sure you don’t miss billing statements and due dates.
Connect with your loan servicer. You want to make sure your loan servicer also has your most up-to-date contact information. Your loan servicer may have changed over the past three years or you may have moved. To find out who your loan servicer is, visit your account dashboard at studentaid.gov and scroll down to the “My Loan Servicers” section.
Apply for an income-driven repayment plan. Many borrowers are already struggling financially. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau estimates 1 in 5 borrowers are at financial risk of being unable to resume repayments. If you are trying to figure out how to afford those bills in October, apply for an income-driven repayment, or IDR, plan. You can find out more about IDR plans, including the new “SAVE” plan, here.
Estimate your monthly payment and sign up for auto-debit. You can compare repayment plans and get an idea of what your monthly payment will be by going to the “Loan Simulator” tool here. This is also a good time to review whether you have signed up to auto-debit enrollment to ensure your payments are made on time. Contact your loan servicer directly to sign up to automatically deduct your monthly payment from your bank account. Even if you had auto-debit before the pause, confirm that you are enrolled once again with your payment plan.
Open a high-yield savings account. Start making loan payments to yourself now by stashing money in a high-yield savings account. You can go here to find financial institutions offering the most competitive savings rates. Putting money in a savings account, earmarked for student debt payments, can be good practice to see how you’ll handle paying those bills when they’re due again in October.
Check to see if any other student loan forgiveness plans apply to you. If you work in public service (firefighters, law enforcement officers, librarians, military servicemembers, nurses, etc.), if you're a teacher, if your school closed while you were enrolled or within 120 days of your withdrawal, or if the school falsely certified your eligibility for the loan, you may be eligible for debt forgiveness.
If you're currently in college:
apply for grants and scholarships and to continue to apply for them throughout the time you're in school. This can help to reduce the amount of money you need to take out as a loan and lessen the burden of a loan once you graduate.
Look into getting a paid internship. Internships can give you valuable experience and connections that will help you get a job when you graduate, and it will also give you the ability to make money while you're still in school.
Look into working for a company that will help you repay your student loans once you graduate; this link has 20 that will help you out.
If you currently have unsubsidized federal loans or private loans, do your best to start paying them now. These loans accrue interest while you're still in school, which raises your balance on the loan before you even have to start paying it. By paying just the monthly interest charge, you'll keep your loan balance from growing.
If you're someone who's currently applying to colleges:
Do the first two years of college at a community college.  It’s a much less expensive way to get your general education credits out of the way, so that when you get to the more expensive university you want to go to, you’ll only be focused on your chosen field of study.  Set up your community college classes as carefully as you can from the beginning- try to ensure everything you take will transfer over, saving you credits and by extension, money.
Apply for all the scholarships you can.  They’re  a great thing to have, both in terms of the financial benefit they provide and also the prestige that can go along with having one.  There are tons of them out there, so think about what specific groups you might fit.  There are scholarships for all different ethnicities, genders, interests, major, activities you’re involved in…there are even scholarships for people with red hair, people who are left handed, people who are really tall or really short, people who are proficient in calling ducks.  Pretty much anything that makes you unique is a scholarship opportunity.  There are also bigger ones that are just merit-based and worth applying for as well.  Try here, here and here for a place to start looking for scholarships that might suit you.
Apply to schools that have a good financial aid program.  Here is a (supposedly complete) list of all the colleges that cover 100% of need based financial aid.
Look into is going to school in a different country.  There are several countries where American students can study for free or very low cost in English.  These countries include Germany, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Slovenia, Czech Republic, France and Brazil.  There’s some good information about those options here.  The caveat there is that you’re still responsible for housing and cost of living, but it’s still an option that could be more cost-effective than having to take out student loans in the US.

I have such a massive student loan balance that the 20k in forgiveness Biden is putting forth will literally mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. Relating to forgiveness, I am essentially getting nothing because of how severe my debt is. (Now, the proposed changes to the IBR situation are much different. 👀)
But you know what? I still think this was a great plan. I’m still fucked, but I can look at the way things are right now and realize that this forgiveness at this amount will unburden countless of my peers. They will feel more secure starting a family, they might be able to buy a home if the markets calm tf down. They can actually participate in the economy instead of just doing their best to get by year after year.
Prior to COVID when everyone was stuck inside with nothing to do but shag their SO the birth rate had been declining every single year. I hate to boil people down to labor but it is a reality that if people now don’t feel comfortable having kids, who do you think will be there to staff the hospitals, the nursing facilities, the grocery stores, the bus lines, and more that you will rely on when you are older? We need our peers to be unburdened so that, in the end, we are all unburdened.
I’m so excited for those whose lives this will impact, and I can’t fathom all the people whining about it.
It’s like you’re going on a field trip, and you and your classmates are going to climb a mountain. You packed light, just the essentials: Good shoes, bottle of water, a snack.
Jimmy, Rick, and Susan back there? Their parents didn’t get to go on field trips like this, they have no idea what field trips are like, they just know that their child is going to climb a mountain. So Jimmy, Rick, and Susan show up with through-hiking packs, three different ways to start a fire, a 10-person camping tent, enough food for 5 days despite it being a day trip, bear spray, a bear canister and line to tie it up with, a -30F sleeping bag despite it being summer, and so on.
They didn’t make the best choices, but they were doing the best they could to succeed given their limited understanding of the situation. And you know what? This hiking team only goes as fast as its slowest member. You can sit there and bitch and whine about how Jimmy, Rick, and Susan don’t deserve anyone’s assistance because they chose to bring all that stuff, and in some ways you might be right. But they didn’t make those choices with a full understanding and the guidance you had, and they made those choices last night when packing at home. They’d probably make a lot different choices now, and their own children will be properly equipped for sure based on their miserable field trip experience. But, again, you will only reach the top of the mountain at the rate of your slowest hiker. So it benefits you for them to have their burdens lessened, regardless of if you think it’s “unearned” assistance on their part. Don’t lessen their burden for them, lessen their burden for yourself so we can all reach the top of the mountain and enjoy the view before the sun goes down.

Navigating the Financial Maze: Tips for Financing Your MBA
Tumblr media
Are you considering pursuing an MBA but concerned about the financial burden it may entail? You're not alone. Financing graduate education, especially a prestigious MBA program like those offered by top MBA college in Jaipur, can indeed be daunting. However, with careful planning and the right strategies, it's entirely possible to afford your MBA without drowning in debt. In this blog post, we'll explore some practical tips to help you finance your MBA and embark on your journey to academic and professional success.
1. Research Scholarship Opportunities:
Begin your MBA financing journey by thoroughly researching scholarship opportunities. Many organizations, universities, and even companies offer scholarships specifically for MBA students. These scholarships can significantly offset the cost of tuition and other expenses. Make sure to explore both merit-based and need-based scholarships and apply to as many as possible.
2. Consider Employer Sponsorship:
If you're currently employed, inquire whether your employer offers sponsorship or tuition reimbursement for pursuing an MBA. Many companies invest in their employees' education as it enhances their skills and contributes to the company's success. If your employer doesn't have a formal sponsorship program, consider negotiating a customized arrangement that benefits both parties.
3. Explore Financial Aid Options:
Don't overlook traditional financial aid options such as federal or private student loans. While taking out loans should be approached with caution, they can be a viable option for covering a portion of your MBA expenses. Research different loan programs, compare interest rates and terms, and choose the option that best suits your financial situation.
4. Save and Budget Wisely:
Start saving for your MBA as early as possible. Cut unnecessary expenses, create a budget, and set aside a portion of your income towards your MBA fund. Consider taking on part-time work or freelancing to generate extra income that can be dedicated to your educational expenses. Every penny saved today will lessen the financial burden tomorrow.
5. Explore Alternative Funding Sources:
Get creative with your funding sources. Consider crowdfunding platforms, educational grants, or fellowship programs that support graduate students. Some MBA programs also offer assistantships or teaching opportunities that provide tuition remission or stipends in exchange for work.
6. Choose a Cost-Effective Program:
Not all MBA programs come with the same price tag. Research and compare the costs of different MBA programs, including tuition, fees, living expenses, and opportunity costs. Consider factors such as location, program length, and reputation when making your decision. Opting for a more affordable program doesn't mean compromising on quality; it simply requires careful consideration and research.
7. Leverage Networking and Alumni Connections:
Tap into the power of networking and alumni connections to uncover potential funding opportunities. Reach out to alumni from your desired MBA program or professionals in your field who have successfully financed their education. They may offer valuable insights, advice, or even direct you to funding sources you hadn't previously considered.
Conclusion:
Financing an MBA may seem like a daunting task, but with careful planning, research, and perseverance, it's entirely feasible. Remember that investing in your education is an investment in your future. By exploring scholarship opportunities, leveraging employer sponsorship, exploring financial aid options, saving diligently, and making informed decisions, you can embark on your MBA journey with confidence and financial stability. Don't let financial concerns deter you from pursuing your academic and career aspirations. With the right approach, you can turn your MBA dreams into reality. Consider exploring programs offered by Arya College Jaipur, which may provide excellent opportunities for your MBA education and future career prospects.

Relocating on These Terms Can Be Regret for Your Decision
Migration or shifting to new home or office is not a child’s play. It is very tedious and laborious project when undertaken without any help can leave you in worries. There are several reasons why people choose to move from one place to another, most of them includes- achievement of career growth in search of better job or education opportunities. Sometimes individuals opt to change their place of living due to personal reasons also. Shifting includes- packing and transportation along with all the personal belongings to a new place that is totally unknown for you. Few days of relocation can disturb your life but by having proper planning and the help of some professional Packers and Movers your half of the problems will get solved. It will lessen your burden too. It is rightly said that not every change is good. With just a change it doesn’t mean that it will definitely give you positive results. A hassle free move should be a calculative decision by taking into consideration of its pros and cons as well. There are many articles that you must have read about why you should opt to move or what are the disadvantages of not having packing and moving company for help, but very less is known about the information to be kept in mind while moving.
Tumblr media
Through this post you can read some of the situations that can arise when you have made strong decision to move and suddenly any unwanted situation has made it the most regretful decision of your life. They will really going to help you before starting the process.
Do not take decision when you are in financial debt
For getting any services, it becomes very much important to check on the financial expenses that are involved in it. Similarly, financial independence is a mandatory thing to keep in mind when relocating. You should not move to a new place without knowing how much amount it will require to pack and move into the new place. Sometimes people take decision in hurry even if they are not well off to spend on the relocation services. It makes them unhappy at the end. Therefore, to avoid such scenarios if you are in financial debt then moving with the help of movers is not a good idea. If you fail to do so, you will be in stress.
Do not move if your health doesn’t allow
Moving is definitely for a change that of course you will be choosing to do but it will not cheer you up every time. When you’re physical and mental health doesn’t allow you to go ahead with packing and transporting your expensive goods then you should eliminate the thought of relocating by yourself instead hire Packers and Movers Mumbai, for relocating to and from this city. At times if you are suffering from any trauma, then it is not a correct decision to change your place. People think that moving to new place will refresh their mood but that’s not the case every time. The place can even haunt you more.
Do not shift on whim
Individuals who consider that shifting is such an easy going task without any issues, make a decision based on their desires and then later on regret for the same. It has been always discussed in many posts related to packing and moving that it requires good planning and organized steps to do. Missing out on any step will fail to provide you the best services. If you really want to shift your goods in peaceful environment then you should avoid relocating just because of fulfilling your desires.
These pointers which are highlighted in this post will turn out to be a better decision when you are planning to move to distant places. These are important to be understood from the view of an individual who is willing to shift his or her place of living or work, so that no feeling of regression is left at the end of the process.
Thus, choosing of reliable packing and moving company will not leave you in pains because they have solution to each and every problem. They are equipped with wide range of services along with insurance coverage whenever your goods are on the verge of being getting damaged or lost during the process. You can pick your services according to the requirement from the wide variety of key services they offer-
Residential Relocation
Commercial Movement
Office Shifting
International Moving
Domestic Relocation
Vehicle Pick up

Smart and Effective Money-Saving Tips and Habits
Tumblr media
If you cannot keep track of where your hard-earned dollars go and you are wondering why you cannot save anything, then it is time to control your spending and put a stop to being controlled by money itself. Do not wait until you lose your business, end up with insurmountable debts, and eventually go bankrupt. If you struggle with keeping records of your expenses and income, then it is time to reach out to a certified public accountant in Kearny, NJ, and avail yourself of business financial planning services.
Here is a list of smart and effective money-saving tips that you can turn into a positive habit.
Evaluate and Cut Off Your Spending Habits It is time to sit down and evaluate what went wrong. If your evaluation finally came down to your spending habits as the reason why you cannot earn or save money, then it is better to cut them off to save you from having debts or going bankrupt. As people often say, do not go broke trying to look rich!
Find Alternatives to Cut Off Reckless Spending After evaluating your spending habits, it is time to put them into action. It may be difficult at first, but here is how you can cut off your reckless spending. Find alternatives! You can divert your thoughts to activities and rekindle the passion or hobbies you used to have. Explore new things and do DIYs that may be beneficial to your business.
Additionally, you should also cancel subscriptions and memberships that you are not using anyway, especially if these automatically renew each time and are consuming your hard-earned dollars.
Track or Record Your Expenses If you are aware that you are not good at recording your expenses, then it will be beneficial to you if you have someone do the math for you, especially if you have a business you want to grow and be successful in. However, if you feel like you do not need an accountant and you want to learn how you can keep your record by yourself, you can start by writing your expenses on a notepad or using an app.
Automatic Saving Make automatic savings whenever you have income. Most banks have automated transfers, so you can already make the necessary transfers for your savings and only have a portion for your and your business needs. In that way, you can already save without computing. This can also lessen or help you reduce your spending habits.
Set Your Priorities Determine your priorities and goals, and make sure that you are saving for a purpose. If you are using your car as a part of your business, you might want to save up to have it replaced for something more efficient in the future. Moreover, you also have to prioritize your retirement and healthcare. To maximize your retirement plans, avail of tax services in Kearny, NJ.
Stop Your Bad Habits If you want to work things out, identify what is holding you back from earning and saving effectively. If you do not have spending habits but are into smoking or drinking, not only are these unhealthy for you, which may cost you a lot of money for treatment, but they also consume a lot of your hard-earned dollars. Evaluate how many dollars go to sustaining your smoking habit and calculate what you could have saved if it went to your savings instead.
Settle Your Debts If you want to start a debt-free journey and finally set out your saving goals, settling your old debts is the first step. Do not be burdened by your debts, and let them haunt and hinder you from enjoying the things you deserve. Settling debts can also empower or motivate you to start your debt-free journey. Seek help from a certified public accountant if you need to.
Always Make a Budget When you are going grocery shopping, remember to always make a budget. Avoid buying unnecessary items that are not included in your budget. Remember that you have to commit to your budget. You can spare some money if you want to buy something, especially if it will be a part of your business and investment.
Create Your Meal Plan and Avoid Restaurants To save money, you should also try creating a meal plan rather than constantly eating out or ordering food. Make a thorough yet quick evaluation. Your money that goes to expensive restaurants can be equal to your meal plan, which can feed you for days or a week. So, start by checking out some cheap lunch ideas. In that way, you can also discover ways to make yourself healthy and fit by preparing the right foods.
Set Your Saving Goals Whether you have short-term or long-term goals, either way can make you commit to saving money. This can ultimately make you turn it into a habit and make you prioritize what needs to be prioritized. If you want to set your saving goals, start by identifying what you want, like buying a new vehicle or going on a vacation, and committing yourself to it. Or if you want a long-term goal like buying a new house, remember that nothing is impossible if you commit to it and take action!
However, remember that these tips will be ineffective if you are not going to commit to them and learn to control your luxurious purchases. Save up for a better and more financially stable future with the help of the most sought-after certified public accountant in Kearny, NJ.
