Okay I need to write something abt Ivy's brain overheating n starting to cook her head bc it overworks and there's no way there's enough space in her super computer brain for an efficient cooling system combined with Tim involuntarily salivating and feeling hungry when he smells burning flesh as a hold over from eating corpses during the Moon War. This is no longer a want it is a need.

Thank you to the WONDERFUL artist @sm-baby for drawing my beautiful girly Keira <33 Please go follow them!!
SOME BONUS SILLY ASS DIALOUGE UNDER THE CUT
"Hmm..." Keira hummed quietly. "Only one way to find this book."
"And that is...?"
Penelope watched Keira as she paused, and stared down at the bottom of the shelf. Contemplative. Then, she kicked it harshly. Sending an almost comical amount of books on top of her. Penelope watched in shock.
"Ms. Keys...!"
But it wasn't more than a second later that Keira popped back out from the mountain, book in hand as others tumbled down in her movement.
"This it?"
"Ms. Keys, I highly doubt that's any sort of way to..." Penelope was about to scold the other woman, but looking down at the book in her hand....
Unbelivable.
"...This is exactly the book I'm looking for." She sighed, defeated.
"Good." Keira replied, unbothered.

What if both Reader and Binah saw themselves as Xiao and Lowell, and Reader gets that bitter taste in their mouth, because it could be both of them in that situation, and they just turn to Binah and say ''Don't do anything stupid if something happens to me. ''.
Birbna Mind: I will do something stupid if something happens to them.
"Of course not," is her immediate response, calm as ever. "I am no fool." Binah holds out a hand to help you up, the cold metal of her rings pressing gently against your skin. her gaze reveals nothing but a spark of affection for you as she looks you over, adjusting your uniform and brushing away imaginary specks of dust as she does after every reception. the other librarians are tending to each other; you're the only one Binah personally sees to, tilting your head towards her until she nods in satisfaction. "Back to work." she tenderly swipes a thumb over your cheek- progress. in the corporation, any public affection was strictly off limits- before turning away like usual, leaving you to help the others
"I am no fool."
Binah lied through her teeth, for she is a fool. a fool for you. she hunts for you so desperately when the Library falls, clawing at her skin as she feels pinpricks of feathers beginning to grow and her mind warping into static, only stopping when she hears your familiar voice break through the haze. her form slumps against you, a mess of blood and eyes and black wings, talons desperately gripping your face. the sound she lets out is painful; a strangled, mechanical screeching; but it bubbles with relief as Binah shifts and curls around you, pulling you deep into her feathers so you, both of you, can finally rest

I’ve been both a tma fan and a literature bitch for long enough to realize that, as much as it pains me to admit, I’m kind of Jurgen Leitner. Evidence:
- I collect books. The area where this is specifically relevant is that I have a penchant for texts that caused a huge stir, horror or gothic fiction (particularly if it’s a 100+ year old text or edition), or I’ve heard first/secondhand accounts of it being in some way haunted or really off-putting.
- In my free time, I enjoy appraising my books (my antique Shelley anthology and my 1st ed. hardcover 13 Storeys will be protected with my LIFE <3)
- I’ll make things up about myself and feign accents just because I think it’s entertaining to see how long I can keep it up
- I don’t have a healthy sense of danger at all, and fail to realize the gravity of whatever I’m doing until after the fact
- I’m blonde
Do with this information what you will, I realized this in a cold sweat in the dead of night and it’s haunted me ever since

re-reading Mal’s Spellbook
Evie should be meaner, actually??? But also, a) Jay has totally fine handwriting in the spellbook, the font they chose for his writing is way more legible than the one they chose for Mal, and b) is this what the kids are mean about these days???

haikaveh... save me haikaveh...
i KNOW it's been talked about to death but. the haikaveh research project. it literally haunts my mind. i cannot get over the implications. alhaitham going through his school life as someone that most people dont even really know about because he keeps to himself and doesn't socialize, with kaveh being the one exception to that, finding his way into his life as his Best Friend, and then leading to alhaithams one and only time he participated in a research topic. his bio says he only ever did ONE joint project!!! one!!! the one with kaveh his best friend and i think also his only friend at the time!!!! and then it ended in not only the project falling apart but also alhaithams only friendship. kavehs best friendship. they were each others closest person. they had no family around - alhaithams parents having died when he was young and his grandmother dying before he joined the akademiya, and kaveh's dad dying when he was young and his mom having moved to fontaine. like even if you dont look at it through a romantic lens it's still undeniable how important they were [and are] to each other..........
i'm getting off track but my point is very specifically for alhaitham, the one time he got close to someone, made a friend, even agreed to join one(1) group project ever, it ended in disaster. it led him into a fight so bad that his one and only friend said he regretted that friendship!!!! it was so bad alhaitham left the project and he and kaveh didnt speak for ages until they just happened to run into each other again at the tavern!!!!! like obviously it has to be incredibly awful for both of them but i just think how this probably had alhaitham in the cynical mindset that friendships and collaborations like that might just never work out for him because the one time he let someone into his life, it blew up on him and he was all alone again. even though alhaitham never seems to care much if people dont like him, that clearly cant still apply to someone he was exceptionally close to. like if he didnt care he woudlnt have been the one to take his name off the project and mutually not speak to kaveh...... kavehs words are the ones that hit the most significantly to alhaitham.......... kaveh is said/implied to have had at least some other friends while at school / people knew who he was, but not so much alhaitham. people didnt know him and the ones that did just knew he didnt socialize/he was not easy to get along with. he only had kaveh and then, for a while, he lost him too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adventures in Librarian-ing
Grade 4 Library Volunteer: Hi Ms. Alice! I brought you some of my Halloween candy!
Other Grade 4 Library Volunteer: Can I have some?
Grade 4 Library Volunteer: No, I'm giving it to her because she can't trick or treat.
Other Grade 4 Library Volunteer: Neither can I! My parents won't let me because I'm Christian.
Grade 4 Library Volunteer: But you can get candy at a store!
=-=-=
I love the implication that the fellow 10-year-old has the ability to purchase stuff at a store but I, an adult, do not.
Kid logic.

I will think I am being totally normal about the silly little disaster wizard made of pixels...
...then we'll get into a fight and someone will cast Hunters Mark on him and I'll have my Tav send her dire raven to gouge their eyes out instead of attacking the person who's right next to them on one HP.
...or he'll go down and, rather than wait and send the cleric - who is closer to him in the initiative order and has more spell slots and is therefore by every metric a way better pick, I'll send my Tav to go and pump one of her very few spell slots into him as a cure wounds. Only to have the enemy that she could have killed instead immediately hit him again and he's back bleeding at her feet.
...or there'll be an arcane turret firing energy blasts and, even though she has way more movement than him and has already lost half her HP, while he is still on full, I'll literally have her use herself as a half-elf shield and stand between him and the turret.
Totally normal about this silly little disaster wizard made of pixels who can't actually die because he's not real.

▷"Nothing is pleasanter than exploring a library."
The quote by the english poet Walter Savage Landor was one that Devin had always found truth in. Although most people thought all libraries to be the same, Devin couldn't disagree more. He felt that each library was different. That each library not only held the stories of the books they shelved but the stories of those that chose to read those books. Much like the quote Devin had always taken pleasure in exploring the libraries of all the places he had been but his love and belief in that quote had been thoroughly tested amongst the shelves of the Helltown public library.
It's not that there wasn't a decent selection, there was, maybe not the newest titles but there was enough to keep a regular reader interested but much like the rest of the town the library was a little run down, the books weren't as cared for as they should have been, the shelves creaked and groaned and dust swirled in the air, weighing heavily on the lungs of anyone who had spent far too much time there. It only added to Devin's curiosity within the town and he had found himself spending a few afternoons there after classes, not only to do research but to grade papers or write if the mood took him in that direction.
He sat at one of the tables in the middle of the library, books piled and scattered around him. His notebook was half filled with notes and comments and he'd honestly forgotten what he had initially come in here for, his mind had been side tracked on numerous occasions onto a variety of topics and now he tried to piece it all together. The shelves creaked and he cast his eyes up from the page he was looking at to spot another person in the library with him, they were scanning the shelves which he had taken a few books from. He cleared his throat ❝Apologies, if ive taken something you're after. Feel free to come take it back.I'm just...well im not even sure what im really doing.❞
