Oh my god!!! That Steve/baby sister fic!!! If you ever want to build it out more I’d be obsessed (ie the party + extended party’s reactions, hop + Joyce and how everyone pitches in)
╰(⸝⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝⸝)╯ awwww anon!!!!!
Honestly I have been thinking about it and I know I put in the tags of the original post, buuuut. Robin called Steve Bud or Buddy which morphed into Bubba when they are being particularly soft with each other, and the baby (who I am possibly leaning towards calling Tina so her nickname can be Tintin because it's cute idk) picks up on it so calls Steve her Bubba. Also because "he's my big brother" can sort of become "he's my Bubba!" If words are smushed together by baby babble
But before all that, Steve (who walked to work that day because he didn't have a baby car seat yet and wasn't going to leave his baby sister whom he always wanted and loves so dearly already ALONE or worse. With their FATHER.) goes to, of all people, Mrs. Wheeler for help. He'd go to Joyce but she's working and Karen Wheeler has the youngest kid he knows so is the best bet for maybe getting some tips and also maybe a carrier because the bjorn isn't going to cut it for long. So he goes and Mr. Wheeler immediately thinks Steve's Accidental Baby Acquisition is due to Steve's own recklessness. (Steve is a prolific lover, sure, but he's smart and safe about it! When he was thirteen his dad sat him down for a talk about not wanting the disgrace of a shotgun wedding and his grandpa gave him a run down of venereal diseases he saw (didn't mention having but. Well.) His pals have in WWII that put the fear of God in him regarding unsafe sex. Moreso than the potential babies. So. He's always very careful. For this very reason!! Except apparently his dad didn't use his own advice but Steve isn't complaining because, once again, he always wanted a little sibling.)
Anyways the wheelers are like ohhhh a Harrington Scandal not involving the boy our daughter dated? Okay sure here's Holly's old baby carseat. Hopper is just. He's like. I thought Steve and that kid I kept giving warnings to about selling dope to were a thing and Steve is like "will people stop assuming she's mine!! I know I am a bit of a slut but I am terrified of chlamydia!!! And even if this WAS my fault (which it is not and also she's a gift I love you little baby sister you're the light of my life) I am taking responsibility for it so maybe we all need to be a little less judgy hmmm??"
Joyce and Karen give him some hand me down baby clothes and books, some good tips about feeding and burping and things like that, and Claudia and Sue offer to come passive aggressively congratulate Steve's dad.
Dustin is a little jealous because this Steve Time is going to be encroached upon by This Literal Infant but Steve is like Dustin... you are my Little Brother... My silly pal...Now you have a sister too!! 🥰 And Dustin is like Oh Shit That's Right and proceeds to try to teach this Literal Infant, it cannot be stressed enough that she is a few months old and cannot stay sitting up by herself, how to build a radio.
Eddie is just trying to not have a heart attack from the concentration of Pure Longing activated by seeing Steve With A Baby and has also been forbidden from playing anything loud near them. He is fine and deals with this by writing ballads that make Gareth gag from their sweetness and Jeff have a very knowingly indulgent look when he sees the lyrics. But Gareth lets he hit his drums with he baby hands and Jeff pretends she stole his nose so they aren't that put out by it.
El is Fascinated by the tiny human and asks lots of questions and wants to play with her, give her experiences of softness and kindness right off the bat she knew she herself was denied, so she's often the official baby holder when Steve needs to do something when the Party is around.
The rest of the party is pretty meh on the baby. Sure it's exciting at first but she just kinda becomes part of regular life. They take turns doing actual babysitting for Steve so he can work or run errands or even, gasp, have some normal early adult fun times, but it's all pretty regular. Erica is glad she's not the party baby anymore.
They do however probably secretly fight over who gets to be baby's godparent. Steve isn't allowed to know.

Daddy-Daughter Podcast 2023
Tumblr media
11 years ago, my kid's daycare surprised us by announcing that they were closing for Christmas break a day before everyone else, so I ended up with our then-four-year-old daughter, Poesy, at my office for the day.
After she got bored with coloring and playing with my office toys, I sat her down on my lap in front of my podcast mic and we recorded the greatest, all-singing episode of my podcast ever:
https://craphound.com/news/2012/12/21/happy-hols/
Thus began an annual tradition. Every year since – save one, when my mic was busted – we have recorded a podcast: I interview the kid about her favorite media, apps, books, and hobbies. Sometimes, she gives a tutorial. Then, we sing a song.
She's 15 now (!), and I still managed to drag her to the mic this weekend. We discussed her musical favorites, old (Ike and Tina singing "Proud Mary") and new (Dominic Fyke). We discuss high school, volunteering at the zoo, and the rigors of dance team. She teaches us how to drive. She runs down her favorite apps, and discusses her recent name change. And then, we sing!
https://craphound.com/news/2023/12/10/daddy-daughter-podcast-2023-edition/
This is the eleventh installment in this time-series snapshots of my kid, starting in London, then moving to LA, and every year I go back and listen to the previous recordings. It's not just a wonderful moment of nostalgia for me – it's also a powerful way to put everything into perspective. Anyone who's kept a journal (or a blog!) knows, the act of regular record-keeping, combined with regular revisiting of those records, turns the impressionistic jumble of memory into a clear picture of your life and its trajectory. We remember so poorly, but our treacherous minds fill in those omissions with whatever's going on right now, so if times are good now, we remember all times as good. If times are bad, everything seems bad.
The following year sees Poesy far more confident and even funnier – and excited about working at the zoo someday:
https://craphound.com/news/2013/12/23/christmastime-daddy-daughter-podcast-with-poesy/
At six, Poesy has learned a little French, and some naughty words for Jingle Bells (and she's got a lot more vocal control!):
https://craphound.com/news/2014/12/22/podcast-happy-xmas-guest-starring-poesy/
At seven, Poesy is living in Los Angeles and my mic is very busted, but Poesy knows all the words to Frosty and she's got the barrelhouse walkout nailed:
https://craphound.com/news/2015/12/25/podcast-happy-xmas-guest-starring-poesy-2/
We didn't manage to record the next year, so we catch up with Poesy at nine, with her English accent all but gone – but her memory for lyrics is better than ever (who knew there were so many choruses to "Deck the Halls?"). This is the first time I interviewed her, for an in-depth discussion of how to make slime (remember slime?):
https://craphound.com/news/2017/12/23/reviving-my-christmas-daddy-daughter-podcast-with-poesy/
At ten, Poesy is now watching online makeup tutorials and has lots of advice for you, and is super into squishies:
https://craphound.com/news/2018/12/24/christmas-podcast-with-poesy-2018-edition/
At eleven, Poesy's no longer willing to sing, but she has lots of information about riding horses. This is the first year that she's got her own music preferences, with half of them being contemporary artists like Billie Eilish and the other half being older acts like Queen. This is also the year that she got rid of all her old toys, books and clothes, because they were "not her style":
https://craphound.com/podcast/2019/12/20/my-annual-daddy-daughter-xmas-podcast-interview-with-an-11-year-old/
Twelve sees us podcasting from covid lockdown. No song this year, but she's playing video games (Among Us), thrifting (while double-masked), and she's just discovered Tiktok, along with Tiktok dances, and she's started to find cool music that I enjoy:
https://craphound.com/news/2020/12/11/daddy-daughter-podcast-2020-edition/
At thirteen, Poe's a high school freshman and the singing is back! She's big into Drag Race and Ru Paul. And high school sucks so hard that she'd rather go back to Zoom school. She's still riding horses, and she's fallen in love with a book for the first time in years: Animal Farm (but she hates the ending):
https://craphound.com/news/2021/12/23/daddy-daughter-podcast-2021-edition/
Last year, Poesy was fourteen, and my office had just flooded out in a freak rainstorm. Poesy has discovered her argumentative nature, and she loves hiking in nearby Angeles National Forest. She's getting into hiphop – Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Cyprus Hill – and South Park (also Fleetwood Mac!). We get a lot about Big Mouth, and a long discussion of her short fiction writing:
https://craphound.com/podcast/2022/12/12/daddy-daughter-podcast-2022-edition/
These annual time-capsules are just tremendous. I may not have had the discipline to do daily, time-lapse ready photo portraits, but this corny, silly yearly tradition is more than a way for my kid and me to spend a few minutes together just before Christmas – they're a way to connect to our past and think about the future to come. I can imagine doing these over Zoom when the kid's away at university in a couple years, though who knows if she'll stand for that.
Here's the podcast episode:
https://craphound.com/news/2023/12/10/daddy-daughter-podcast-2023-edition/
And here's a direct link to the MP3 (hosting courtesy of the Internet Archive – they'll host your stuff for free, forever):

Had to pull up the list but!! Members of soulfire as most helpful love advice to least helpful!
Lenay - actually married, even if her husband is currently MIA, would probably be a bit cryptic but all in all very solid and nice advice (give her some dirt in exchange she likes to lay in it)
Pol - old man, has seen a lot, would probably suggest something very romantic until his vex side comes out and starts suggesting bonded blood packs to make with your lover.
Niki - resident, not certified, therapist. Would probably just be very safe and say communication is key. Might give some weird advice tho if she finds it funnier and like it'll bring you closer to your love
Tubbo - he'd make fun of you but in the end sit ya down and talk about how you gotta be confident and kind. Hold em tight...don't let them go...he'd get a bit quiet but would perk up and suggest a nice dinner as a perfect first date.
Tina - will straight up tell you that your lover is a red flag and to have some RESPECT!!! get to the GRIND!!! (Especially @ missa wanting the gas mask wearing bird)
Aypierre - would have solid advice but then trail off horribly into how he fucked up with maxo and start to go a bit all over the place in anger and sadness. Please let the robot reset before asking more questions <:].
Pac - can't get his own love life for shit but damn he can give some pretty okay nudges in the right direction. Would tease and make fun but not get too involved.
Missa - would be very awkward and ask why you trust him with this??? Would say never to give up...gets really sad if you ask too much.
Rivers - probably just thinks way to hard on it, says to just go for it but overthinks, says you should fight for your love- no wait be soft- shit no buy em stuff!! Ahhh!! Stop asking her she doesn't know!
Luzu - literally 50/50 if you get ignored or told he has no idea.
Mariana - he'd suggest kissing your crush after every argument, love like the world's ending, make sure to be an asshole and they'll love you forever.
Bbh - this man literally thinks that arguing is a love language, suggests stabbing and eating the body as romantic, he's crazy do not trust any advice out of this demons mouth. It's crazy that he's so wanted on the island.
This is so funny and so right, I approve 10/10. I laughed at half of the points, also love how out of the leaders of the group the highest in the list is Tubbo and even he is only 4th🤣 You know you can rely on those 3 for anything yep.
This is awesome. I want to read a crack fic of one of the blues trying to get an adequate love advice from other teammates😭

I want to say that a new comfort character/new kinnie/new hyperfixation just walked in. He's just like me fr
Tumblr media
Welcome to the club, Marvin.
I mean, he's very relatable to me as an autistic and aroace boy. I even run like him due to being hyperactive, when I'm just walking then I just start running, I used to say that I ran like a Peanuts' character
I got to know him better while developing my hyperfixation in Looney Tunes, starting with The Looney Tunes Show. I loved how Bugs and Lola has a "love song", Daffy sings a song about how it feels to be in love using Tina as his reference (as talking about giant sirens and giant robots but even so), Speedy has a song trying to advice Porky to have a girlfriend and, meanwhile, Marvin has a song about how his heart is crumbling to pieces for feeling betrayed about his laser beam not turning on anymore. He even says that he never felt closer to anyone in his life; I know this song was supposed to be funny or something like that but I did relate because I feel more and more distant from people and the feeling is that I bond more with fictional characters or objects (mainly books), I was ashamed of admitting that but Marvin just got me the feeling that it's alright and it isn't something to be ashamed off. And it warmed my heart. By the way, when I was younger I remember saying as a joke that I was an alien because it was my way of comforting myself for feeling wrong and out of place with people in general, btw I even had an oc based on me that was an alien as well to comfort me even more. And Marvin is a martian-
I'm obsessing over Marvin and the massive comfort he is currently bringing to me; as more as I'm searching and founding out more stuff about him, the more relatable he feels to me and this is a wonderful feeling. I felt out of place for a huge part of my life, and he makes me feel that it's okay to be different and that we can be different together
Tumblr media
I started noticing this stuff yesterday, and yesterday was my birthday so it was a very meaningful birthday gift from the universe to me to my mind. It made this whole stuff even more significant.
(By the way we both are intjs 5w6 choleric-melancholic, I grew out of thinking mbti is a big deal but I will definitely make this specific fact the biggest deal ever, i mean it has to be a sign!)
I'm currently in my flop era but I'm so comfortable with this post which I wrote with my heart so open that I won't even mind if it flops tbh
Edit/PS.: another happy coincidence is that here in Brazil where I'm from he's voiced by my FAVORITE brazilian voice actor. The one that made me realize that I liked doing different voices when I was still a child, helping me figuring out my dream of being a voice actor someday. Yay. Marvin is almost too good to actually exist as a character

I originally posted this in a reblog to @melonatures, but I'ma post it here.
Since you posted this, I haven't been able to forget it. I love it, but it took a little bit to figure out why these two gifs are particularly great.
I love your gifset. Let me explain all the ways:
"No, no, no. Fak's not my best friend."
I love how Carmy's face is turned away from the camera for a moment. And he hesitates and looks towards his front door where Syd just left. But then he agrees that Neil is his best friend. Which is totally fine! But I wonder if he was pressed by say, Nat or Richie he'd say the same thing. Fak is best friends to everyone, but is he Carmy's? I dare say Carmy's best friend is Syd, considering we're shown in the show how they are quietly and steadily laying the groundwork for a long, strong and substantial partnership. A partnership that is also a relationship.
We know that Carmy is working with Syd to reach her goal of a Michelin star, stars he thinks are bullshit. This is her goal but he's more than happy to help her reach it, to the point that he's willing to give her hands-on training on how to perfect a dish. Perfection requires fine tuning and precise decisions. Syd is an amazing chef early in her career, and has the makings of a wunderkind on the food scene if she can harness her natural abilities and training. I think Carmy sees that in her and admires it. I think he's attracted to her love of food and by spending time with her on the menu and just hanging out, it's reminding him that, even if he became a chef to spite Mikey, he actually loves it, he just didn't want to do it alone.
In working together to make the menu for The Bear, which will also help Syd get the star she covets, they've gotten close (more close than sitting behind the shop and commiserating), even if it's how they each come to their ideas about menus. In Honeydew, Luca tells Marcus that he experiences life and that's a part of what makes him a better chef. Sydney already does this. We see in Sundae how Syd gets inspiration for dishes, as well as her getting ideas in dreams (shortrib and risotto). Carmy is by the book, but I think he likes the way Syd thinks. That man would have never put chips on Nat's omelette! But I think Syd craves his wealth of knowledge and experience and ability to edit himself. We see in an episode where she realizes she's doing too much to a dish with Tina. Carmy helps her by hearing the ingredients and giving advice; I love Tina and everybody else, but only Carmy can provide that for her. They really do compliment each other, and learn about each other through their cooking.
"I fe- sorry, I feel like I should have known that, or, or- something--"
Makes sense that Carmy was mistaken! I think he's gotten to know aspects of Syd over a short period of time and in this scene he's maybe noticing that Syd holds things close to her chest. Omission plays a big role in her psyche. He can't just assume that she's okay or that she's an open book, because she's not.
Like mentioned above, I think Carmy is learning a lot about Syd through their menu creating. He's listening to her stories and anectdotes, laughing at her humor and learning about what she values through the food she creates. They have such symmetry through food, he assumed (incorrectly) that he knew more about her than he did. Because Syd is bringing back his love of food and the two of them really do communicate their desires through food. Syd loves taking care of people. But so does Carmy! They both don't want to use tweezers on food they don't care about. They want to use tweezers to show how much they love people lol
I love his stuttering in this gif because this man lost the plot and thought he could substitute communicating through food with actual communication. Example: Bro really was confused when Syd wasn't happy about the wall being torn down. By his logic, he tore the wall down for her, like he's working on the menu for her, so what's the big deal? (Someone save this man.) He's very action oriented, so it flew right by him that making a menu with Claire for Syd wasn't it, because he thought doing this action was what she wanted--like he said in that particular scene. But Syd wants communication and hands-on training (😏😏😏), because they're doing this together and if he just wants to put a menu together without her, she can just go somewhere else and make bullshit no-love tweezer dishes. They're supposed to be doing this for the love of food, not to just make money.
And even though they talk to each other via food, it doesn't make up for the other way they can and should communicate: straight up talking.
But The Table ™️ scene shows, in my opinion, that he's learning that. "Say more, please."
Anyway! I love this gifset melonatures. Sorry if this broke any Tumblr edicate. I loved your gifset. Thanks for making it! ❤️

Perfect To Love Part 3
Tumblr media
Pairing: Steve Harrington x FemReader!PlusSize
Warnings: fluff, bullying, body image issues, fat shaming, angst, trust issues.
Summary: Beth Walker was used to living in the shadows. She had only one friend and anyone else who paid her mind usually bullied her for her size. So she learned to keep her mouth shut, her head down, and her heart closed because she had to accept the fact that she would be nothing more than the fat girl to people. That is until Robin decides Beth needs more in life and that might just include a boy who she never would’ve thought could see her for who she truly was.
word count: 3,935
Part 2 ←→ Part 4
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Steve Harrington didn’t attend parties since high school. After losing King Steve status and Nancy stomping on his heart at Tina’s Halloween Bash he saw no reason to go. That didn’t mean he wasn’t still invited. Kids still in high school remembered the legend of Steve Harrington and that never stopped them from trying to get him to attend one of their parties. He saw no point now that he spent time with the kids and wasn’t in high school, but now a high school party would be the perfect place to prove to those douche bags that Beth Walker was a cool chick.
So after finding a perfect outfit to wear, digging up his old cologne, fixing his hair to perfection, and finally getting it across to Dustin that he couldn't go, he realized he was actually a little nervous. The same way he was nervous before any dates he went on. He tried to remind himself this wasn't a date, this was for Robin, but his heart didn't listen, it still thumped rapidly against his chest, and his palms continued to sweat. Realizing he didn't have any flowers or any clue what to say he felt like a cheap date, unworthy of Beth who clearly deserved so much.
"Dustin I need your help" he finally uttered, the panic starting to set in.
"I only help people that bring me to parties with them" Dustin shot back, clearly having the response locked and loaded since he wanted to go.
"You're not coming to the party" Steve reiterated as he rolled his eyes and Dustin crossed his arms.
"Why? Because it’s a date?" he accused and Steve groaned, his head falling back on the couch.
"It's not a date" Steve bargained and Dustin set down his walkie that he was messing with after a new battery change.
"Okay, then I can come" he said and Steve shot him a glare.
"You're not coming Dustin" he told him, a sharp edge to his voice.
"Why not?!" the boy whined, annoyed that his best friend wasn't going to take him to the first party he had gone to since they had become friends.
"Because you're a kid!" Steve countered and Dustin rolled his eyes so hard Steve was sure they'd get stuck.
"I’m in highschool" he told Steve as if to remind him that being in High School now somehow made him grown.
"Yeah for like two seconds, talk to me in a year" Steve said and Dustin finally had no argument because he was right, the year had just barely started, only a month into his freshman year.
"Fine but when the guys ask why I didn’t go with I'm saying it’s because your taking Beth on a date" Dustin told him, having already bragged to Mike, Lucas, and Will over the phone about how he would be the first to go to a highschool party. He was wrong.
"It’s not a date Dustin" Steve urged and Dustin shook his head.
"Why not? You're always asking girls on dates and Beth is like Phoebe Cates" Dustin told him and Steve furrowed his eyebrows.
"You said that about Suzie too" Steve said and Dustin shrugged.
"Yeah, that proves my point" and for the first time Steve realized that for Dustin a girl wasn't amounted by just her looks, Beth was just as attractive as Phoebe Cates to him because her personality was beautiful. He didn't notice anything else because as long as she was a good person she was beautiful.
“What do I even talk to her about?” Steve finally voiced his worries, the advice he was looking for before Dustin dug into him about not going to the party.
“Anything Steve, everything. She’s super smart and likes movies. I don’t think you have anything to worry about” Dustin told him, a little shocked Steve was looking for advice about a girl when it was normally the other way around.
“Just because I work at Family Video doesn’t mean I watch movies” Steve sighed, a hand tugging on his hair that he had perfected for tonight.
“You’ll figure it out, you’re King Steve. At least you’re actually dating a girl worth dating this time” Steve chuckled and stood to leave, it nearing the time to pick her up.
“It’s not a date” he told Dustin one last time before leaving, the nerves still prickling through his skin but he quickly reminded himself he was going on a date with a girl better then the rest of them. He wanted to make sure she knew that.
As for Beth she was absolutely, positively, freaking out from the moment she woke up. She wished she could curl up in a hole and die. If there was a way to make the entire day pass without her having any knowledge of it she would, because how in the hell did Beth, big Beth, land a date with Steve the hair Harrington. Actually it wasn’t a date at all, yet it still felt exactly like one. So since she couldn’t magically make the day pass she called Robin the minute she woke up, clearly waking the girl herself.
“I am freaking out Robin, this is all your fault. I can’t decide if I’m going to cry, throw up, or pass out. I am not pretty enough to spend time with him alone. I don’t even know how to do make up, what about my hair, what the hell do I even wear Robin?”
“Give me an hour”
And without another word Robin hung up the phone and forged a new plan to help her dear friend because she so clearly deserved the entire world. At first her plan was to just help her friends self image but Steve was her friend too. He had been heart broken, afraid to love, and struggling to find the right girl. If this whole arrangement could work in both her friends favors she’d be happier then can be, and prove to them she’s a genius after all. So that’s how a knock sounded at Beth’s door and she rushed to open it revealing her friend and Nancy Wheeler.
“Don’t be mad, I brought back up” Robin explained and Beth gaped like a fish because Nancy Wheeler was Steves infamous ex. The image of a perfect female teenager. Hell Beth had wished she was her since middle school. Nancy was so beautiful, perfectly skinny, and girly. Beth would’ve sold her soul if it guaranteed she could be her. Now here she was standing on her front porch to help her get ready for a night out with her ex boyfriend. She gaped for only a moment before recovering and stepping aside to let them into the home.
The girls all climbed the stairs to Beth’s room, getting right to work. Beth sat at her vanity, anxiously bouncing her leg as Nancy rifled through her closet, Robin unbothered as she thumbed through a magazine on Beth’s bed. Beth hoped Nancy wasn’t silently judging her for the abundance of T-shirts and jeans. They were the clothes that made her feel the most comfortable. Before Beth could let the panic set in even further Robins stomach grumbled loudly.
“Sorry Beth, I didn’t eat anything yet today. Can I raid your kitchen?” Robin asked sheepishly and Beth smiled, heart warming over the fact she didn’t stop to eat in her journey of helping her.
“Yes Rob, help yourself” and she scurried off, happy as a clam to go and find some food. Once Nancy settled on an outfit she turned to Beth with a soft smile.
“I figure we could start with your hair” she spoke carefully and Beth nodded, turning in her seat the face the mirror.
“I hope this isn’t weird for you” Beth quietly spoke after a moment, unsure she had ever been alone with the girl before.
“It’s not, when Robin came to me and explained the situation I was happy to help” Nancy said, her hands meticulously getting to work on Beth’s hair.
“Why is that?” Beth found herself asking, curious as to what situation she was referring to.
“Barb was my best friend. I never saw us as any different but she did. All the time I had to remind her how beautiful and special she was. Even though I always tried my best I still feel like she passed away not knowing how amazing she was. I may not know you very much Beth but you’re beautiful, you deserve to know that” tears burned at the back of Beth’s eyes as Nancy had told her this. Even though Nancy was perfect and popular it was nice to know kindness wasn’t lost upon her.
“I’m sorry you lost Barb, me and Robin might not be as close as you two were but I wouldn’t be able to spend another day without her” Nancy pressed her lips together in a tight smile that Beth watched through the mirror. A comfortable silence fell over both of them for the first time she had been here.
“Do you know that it’s Steve?” Beth suddenly felt a need to confess, unsure if Robin left out that minor detail.
“Yeah, that’s another reason I agreed” this time Beth drew her eyebrows together in confusion.
“It’s not a date, he never said the words date” Beth quickly added and Nancy chuckled.
“Even if it is a date it’s fine Beth. Me and Steve, we’re okay. Just friends, it doesn’t bother me one bit” Nancy informed her, trying to ease the girls nerves.
“Do you mind if I ask what happened?” Beth voiced curiously, wanting some insight to the Harrington boy she was about to end up alone with.
“When me and Steve started dating was around the time Will and Barb went missing. Me and Johnathon bonded over us both losing people. I think subconsciously I stayed with Steve thinking he was who I was supposed to be with while ignoring feelings I had for Johnathon” Beth was confused for a moment, never knowing she had a relationship with Johnathon at all before Steve.
“You and Steve were together for a year though” Beth spoke, wondering how it could go on that long.
“Yeah, I hid from my feelings for a long time. Steve is an amazing guy, like the kindest person on earth. I just couldn’t deny any longer that I didn’t feel for him the way I should have. I broke his heart but he deserves to be happy, so I’m more than content to help a pretty girl doll up for a date with him” Beth blushed at the notion that this was a date. Until she hears Steve say the word it wasn’t that.
“I didn’t know you and Robin were close?” Beth told her and Nancy chuckled.
“We’re not but her and Steve are friends and a friend of Steve’s is a friend of mine. After all he takes care of my little brother and his friends despite everything that happened between us” Beth finally connected the dots that the kids were apart of the same group, clustered in with Nancy.
“Steve is a really good guy now huh?” Beth fiddled with her hands, avoiding eye contact through the mirror so Nancy wouldn’t see her fear. Wouldn’t see that she had a secret history with the boy that she wasn’t sure she was ready to forgive him for.
“He is, much different than the guy he was when we started dating. He matured a lot and got over all that popularity shit. He also stopped hanging out with Tommy and Carol which is a good thing” Beth laughed at this, finally looking up to meet Nancy’s eyes.
“You two having fun yet?” Robin asked as she clambered back into the room with a bag of chips. For the first time Beth smiled and nodded at Robin who went right back to her bed.
After that it was smooth sailing, hair and makeup done to perfection. Nancy had done a good job of picking a nice outfit but still allowing Beth to feel comfortable. She wore a nicer pair of her jeans, tighter than she liked but still cute nonetheless. Nancy also gave her a floral blouse, low cut and fit tightly to her chest but loose around the stomach for comfort. Beth blushed when Nancy made a comment about accentuating what she was blessed with, meaning her bigger chest.
Steve showed up at 7 o’clock on the dot, shaking out his nervous hands and approaching the front door that he didn’t even have a chance to knock on before Robin was swinging it open with a mischievous smirk. “You clean up nice Harrington, is this what it’s like being on the receiving end of an infamous Steve date?”
“It’s not a date” Steve quietly seethed and Robin very visibly rolled her eyes.
“When you see her Harrington I think you’re going to stop saying that” at that comment his heart doubled in speed, realizing now he was very unprepared for a night out with a beautiful girl.
“Beth hurry up! Dingus is here” Steve instantly glared at the girl as she shut the door behind him. He didn’t have a chance to scold his friend when he spotted Beth coming down the stairs, dressed like a beautiful girl who normally went out on Saturday nights. His jaw fell, opening his mouth to say something, and closing it as soon as he realized he didn’t have any of the right words to say.
“You look amazing Beth, wow” Steve finally snapped out of it, unsure he had ever seen the girl wear makeup before. Not that she ever needed it. At his words confidence rushed through her blood and she smiled lightly.
“Thanks, I’ve never been to a party before” Beth admitted and Robin grinned behind her hand, knowing her plan was working.
“We don’t have to stay long, if you don’t feel comfortable” Steve informed her and she nodded softly, grabbing her small purse, one Nancy had let her borrow.
“Thank you, but there’s a first time for everything” Beth told him, gesturing her hand to the door. Steve opened it for her quickly, them both saying goodbye to Robin as they disappeared into the night. Robin rushing back upstairs to Nancy where they planned to wait for Beth, and get all the juicy details of the night.
As Beth got into the front seat of the BMW she realized she was now riding passenger in Steve’s car when not so long ago she was confused as to why Robin was always riding around with him. Then she worried about fitting into the seatbelt before forcing herself to push the thought away, she shouldn’t be focusing on her weight. She should be focusing on the cute guy beside her that she was about to give a chance to redeem himself.
Approaching the party after some comfortable conversation she felt her heart finally begin to pound. A party, full of assholes from her school. It was possible Steve wasn’t a big enough shield from facing their torture outside of school hours. Yet as he opened the car door for her and kept a hand on the small of her back she felt herself comforted a little. Yet she didn’t like how he was touching her back, probably feeling the fat roll there, something she hated. Steve made no notice of it as they pushed through the door.
“Harrington!” was yelled almost instantly, boys from the basketball team rushing over to greet Steve. Once they approached and realized Beth was with him they faltered slightly.
“You finally made it man” Jason Carver was the first to pipe up, pulling Steve into a bro hug.
“Yeah, figured I could make an appearance” Steve said, arm wrapping around Beth’s shoulders.
“This is Beth” he introduced her quickly and a boy towards the back of the crowd whispered Bertha and her ears burned red as they all began to chuckle. “We’re gonna grab a drink”
Then Steve was pulling her away, guilt already burning in his stomach. He led beth to the kitchen, grabbing two beers just to turn and see her already pouring herself a drink of some sort of liquor. “Sorry I don’t do beer”
Then she was dumping the liquid quickly down her throat and Steve watched wide eyed, his eyes traveling down as he watch her throat lift in a swallow, and his eyes continued to fall to her cleavage that he had already spent most of the night trying to look away from. A lot of things surprised Steve when Beth walked down those stairs but the thing that surprised him most was his instant attraction to her. Not that he didnt think she was pretty, he really did, he just never allowed himself to look at another type of girl. He realized now, feeling like a teenage boy all over again stealing glances at her, that he was truly attracted to Beth and he would not mind if she let him kiss her by the end of the night.
"We can leave if you want?” he finally spoke, his eyes holding all the sincerity in the world as she poured herself another drink to sip slower on this time.
"No, you brought me here to have fun so let's have fun" Beth held her ground, yes the comments hurt but Steve was doing a good job of making her comfortable, and she was going to allow them to have a good night together.
"Okay, let’s do it" and that’s exactly what they did. Beth ignored all the stares and whispers as her and Steve continued to have drinks, called next game in pong, and danced in the living room allowing themselves to be normal even if it was for just one night. Beth was shocked to find herself actually having a good time. laughing at Steve's jokes and admiring him in the dim lighting of the home. Steve Harrington was just so pretty and as more drinks flowed into Beth's system she was finding that harder to ignore.
"I'm gonna grab us another drink" Steve yelled over the music and Beth nodded as he moved away from her and she continued to watch classmates of hers do keg stands and laughing each time someone got dropped.
"How much did you pay him?" Beth's eyes widened as Colin Matterson appeared beside her, an evil look in his eyes, and liqour heavy on his breath.
"Not that it's any of your business but nothing, he invited me" Beth grumbled, anger prickling at her skin. Colin was the worst of them all, the meanest to her, and she never knew what it was she did to him to deserve such hatred towards her.
"Yeah right, you couldn't even get a horse to go on a date with you much less the King of Hawkins" Beth's ears burned as she felt anger begin to shake her sturdy structure she had been holdong all night. She realized she had never stood this close to Colin, him towering over her, and the venom dripping from his tongue was alerting her fight or flight.
"You're such an asshole Colin, what did I ever do to you?" Beth’s face was red with anger and embarassment. She was fighting the tears that were bound to come when she reached her pillow tonight.
"I don't need a reason to be an asshole Beth, fat girls like you don't belong in places like this with guys like him" for the first time in Beth's life she was prepared to fight back, hit Colin with all the strength she could muster as she had imagined doing it hundreds of times before. Then before she could a hand was turning him around and a fist flung into his face so hard he toppled to the ground.
"You don't ever talk to girls like that, especially my girl" Steve said, breaths puffing from his chest heavily. Beth felt her heart flip as he referred to her as his girl, towering over the boy he was glad didn’t fight back because it wasn't often he won.
"What the fuck Steve?" Colin asked, looking up from the ground as he held his eye that was sure to be black by tomorrow.
"You know what, I would’ve thought your mother taught you the cororect way to speak to women but apparently not. If I even hear of you looking in Beth's direction you better watch out, learn some manners" then Steve was stepping over top of him and locking his fingers with Beth’s. "Let’s get out of here baby"
Then Steve was tugging Beth out of the party, faces watching with shocked looks as Steve very clearly knocked Colin Matterson on his ass for the big girl who was super shy and invisible until now. Steve walked her the whole way out to the car in the empty street, standing next to his BMW, only illuminated by the street lamp above them. Beth had kept a tough face on the entire night and she had planned to keep it, but before she moved to get into the car Steve's hands were holding each side of her face and making her look at him.
"Are you okay?" he asked and suddenly the dam broke, the clear concern and care in his eyes enough to push her over the edge. Without hesitation Steve wrapped her in a hug, comforting her as best he could as she cried into his chest, never even predicting she'd be holding on to Steve Harrington with dear life in the middle of the street as she cried. Steve held her for as long as she needed, until her tears started to slow and her breaths became more even.
"This is extremely embarassing. I'm sorry" Beth said as she pulled away, wiping her cheeks and nose as quickly as she could. She had probably ruined Nancy's makeup job but it was too late now.
"It's emmebrassing for him, fuck that dude B. You deserve better" the nickname tumbled from his lips so quickly he nearly missed it, but suddenly a smile broke across her face, and he gave a confused look.
"You called me B" she grinned at him and he furrowed his eyebrows.
"Sorry, if you don't like it I can stop" but Beth was shaking her head and taking a step closer to him.
"I've never had a nickname that wasn’t mean before, I love it" she told him and he smiled pulling her back into a hug that she didn't expect.
"Let's hang out again, just not at a party. If I see Colin ever again I'll knock his teeth out" Beth laughed lightly against his chest and the feeling sent butterflies to Steve's stomach that he hadn't expected.
"I know our night is kinda ruined but do you want to go somewhere else for a bit?" Steve asked and Beth nodded without really even thinking about it, she had been enjoying Steve more than she had expected. Steve smiled and opened the door to his car and helping her inside before driving off, not really sure where to go just knowing he wanted to spend more time with her. Even if he didn't prove to assholes like Colin Matterson that Beth was great girl he was going to prove to her that she was worth all the love he could give, whether it was as a friend or more, he hadn't quite decided yet.

MARGARET ADLER'S life had revolved around food since her birth. Her mother owned a small restaurant in Northern California called, Beatrice's Diner. That place was her second home up until her mother's passing.
Shortly after the funeral, her father flipped and sold the land the diner was on, packed everything up and moved back to his home town of Chicago, Illinois with Margaret.
Their new apartment was cold. Empty. It lacked the warmth that her mother provided through her paintings and photographs she had framed around their California home. There was not a family photo around the house. It hurt her father too much to even see his late wife's face.
There was never the pleasant smell of homemade food wafting through the house, just whatever canned items her father picked up along with his 12 pack that would be gone the next morning. Margaret tried her best to master her mother's recipes from her cookbook but always fell short from the lack of ingredients or her father getting drunkenly involved in her cooking process, sabotaging it without meaning to.
Margaret grew up resenting her father.
-
"God, I hope this is the right address." Margaret muttered as she approached the sign that read "The Original Beef of Chicagoland". The restaurant had clearly been established for a while or was just kept poorly.
Or both.
She pushed the door open, the hinges squealing slightly. The bell above the door rung as she stepped inside. Sydney sat slumped over the register, but perked up at the sound.
"You must be Margaret?" she asked, pointing at her with a pen. Sydney walked around counter to meet Margaret. She wore the standard outfit, a white tee with black slacks paired with a blue apron. She extended her hand out and Margaret took it, giving it a firm shake.
A loud crash came from the kitchen followed by a male voice yelling, "Fuck"
"Um.." Sydney scratched the back of her neck, "Just ignore that. That's Richie." Her pen waved around in her hand as she spoke, "Your application looked great; we're going to show you the ropes today so you can hopefully start tomorrow."
She began to walk to the kitchen and Margaret took this as her que to follow. The kitchen was bustling as everyone was getting ready for the lunch hour rush. It was loud. Exciting.
"We'll just teach you the basics today, like procedures - behind!!" Sydney called out loudly as she walked around a short woman, "That's Tina." she pointed behind her at the woman. "As i was saying, like procedures and stuff." she finished her sentence as they moved away from the kitchen.
They rounded the corner to the 2 rows of lockers in the back. They weren't very big at all, just wide enough to fit a pair of shoes side by side. There was billions of post-its and reminders on the sides of the both lockers.
"Go ahead and pick a locker, doesn't matter." Sydney laughed, "Well it does matter, don't take a locker that's obviously claimed." she smacked her pen repeatedly on her palm.
Margaret winked, "Got it." She picked the locker at the end of the row and set her worn leather coat and beige tote bag on the hooks. She closed it, but the door swung back open. She tried again and got the same result.
Sydney interjected, "Oh that one does that all the time, you just got to.." she lined her foot up with the bottom, giving it a swift kick, "kick it towards the bottom." Margaret looked down and saw the dents from others in the past doing the same.
Sydney continued to show her around the kitchen, telling her tips on how to get the clunky kitchenware to work, advice on what not to do. "I learned that from experience." she would say every once and awhile. She introduced Margaret to the rest of the family, and they all took immediate liking to her despite her being an outsider in their world.
Well everyone but one took an immediate liking to her. Except Carmen Berzatto.
"Carmen," Sydney caught his arm, stopping him, "This is our newest hire, Margaret." Carmen turned back around, irritated. The front of his apron was stained with some type of red sauce, if Margaret had to guess.
Carmen looking at Margaret through the corner of his eye. She was on the smaller side, just below his shoulder. She wore a green, knit top paired with blue denim jeans with 2 red stars on each ass-cheek. Her outfit was completed with her blonde, curly but unkept hair.
"Nice to meet you Margaret," he looked at her with his annoyed expression, then back at Sydney, "Can I go? I got something to take care of."
"Yeah, sure, whatever." Sydney spat, clearly ticked off by his rudeness. Once Carmen was seemingly out of earshot, she leaned over to Margaret, "By take of something, he means have a smoke break." she said quietly.
"I heard that!" Carmen called from the front of the store, before opening the door.
Sydney finished up her small tour of the kitchen, which ended near closing time. "You need help cleaning up? I have no where to be." Margaret asked sweetly at the doorway of the restaurant. That was a lie, she had an Al-Anon meeting to attend but if she was late, it wouldn't be the end of the world. She wanted to make a good impression.
Before Sydney could open her mouth, Carmen butted in, "No, we're fine but thank you." he called from the kitchen. She located him and watched him furiously scrub a pan for 5 more seconds.
"Thanks for the offer. Bye Margaret." Sydney waved her off from the kitchen. Margaret waved back and left with the ding of the door.
"What's her deal?" Carmen asked Sydney as he swept. He held the dustpan with his foot, carefully sweeping the floor contents into it.
Sydney stopped sweeping to look at him, "Who? Margaret?" she put a hand on her hip while the other one held the broom.
Carmen had also stopped sweeping, "Yeah." he paused for a beat, trying to gather his thoughts, "She's just too..."
"Sweet?" Sydney finished for him. Carmen nodded his head then went back to sweeping. He bent over to the pick the dustpan up off the ground. Sydney walked closer to him, "What's wrong with that?"
"She won't last in this environment." He set the broom against the wall and tossed the handheld dustpan into a bucket in the corner, "She seems like a pushover."
He walked to his locker and began to pack his things up for the night. Sydney followed his same actions then walked to her locker. "Just give her a chance, you don't even know her." she threw her jacket on, fluffing the hood up.
"I'm usually right about my assumptions." he gave a sarcastic smile as he closed his locker. He leaned against the wall, waiting for a smart-ass response from Sydney.
Sydney zipped her coat up, "Oh really? What was your assumptions about me when we met?"
"Stubborn." He pushed himself up off the wall then headed out of the restaurant, "Bye Syd!"
"Bye." she said grumbled as she flung her pastel scarf over her neck.
-
Margaret arrived on the steps on the church for the Al-Anon meeting a little bit early. She pulled out her phone, checking the time. 15 minutes early. She opened the doors quietly, peeking her head in. They were just setting up when she got there.
"Margaret!" the group leader greeted her with an embrace. Margaret offered to help set up for tonights meeting and the leader happily accepted. They set up the chairs in a large circle, taking up half of the space they were allowed in the church. The pool of people slowly started to trickle in as the start time was nearing.
The meeting began, people sharing what they needed to get off their chest for that week. As everyone shared, Margaret scanned the group, looking for new and familiar faces. She was almost through the entire group when she stopped on one.
Carmen sat directly across from her.
He had lost the apron but kept the black slacks and white tee, which was covered by a fleece-lined corduroy jacket. She noticed the red sauce from earlier stained near the collar of his shirt.
The 2 made eye contact by accident, causing both looking away quickly. A minute went by before Carmen suddenly grabbed his backpack and stood up to leave.
"Thank you for joining us Carmen!" The group leader called out. Carmen let out a quick "yup", pushing the church doors open and leaving in what seemed like a hurry.
Why did he leave?
-
Syndey used the slow morning to show Margaret the system they had installed. She was a quick learner, making mental notes throughout the entire training process then eventually put in charge of prepping the vegetables for tomorrow. Sydney was stationed next to her, in case she needed to ask any immediate questions.
"You know what you're doing, you got it." she reassured.
Throughout the morning, she continuously kept making awkward eye contact with Carmen. When 3:30 rolled around, Margaret excused herself to take her break. She walked out the back door, unaware of Carmen's eyes watching her as she left. He noticed her white shirt was too big for her, most likely one of the extra ones from the back.
If they were on speaking terms, he would've ridiculed her.
Margaret sat down on the wooden crates near the door drawing in a deep breath. She rested her head in her hands as memories of her mother played through her head like a movie. Being back in the kitchen like that reminded her all too much the diner. She lifted her head up, blinking rapidly to hold back the tears welling in her eyes, repeatedly smoothing her apron to try and calm herself down. She stood up just as Carmen had walked out to take his smoke break.
"Hey." she greeted him. He swiftly walked past her, mumbling a "hi" back as he pulled a lighter out of his pocket. He flicked it a few times before it finally caught. There was a long beat of silence before Margaret spoke, "Who was it for you?" she asked, one hand on the door. Her question certainly caught Carmen off guard.
He turned around, wanting to confirm what he just heard, "Excuse me?" he took in a long draw of his cigarette as he waited for her to ask the question again. He watched as she delicately tucked a piece of floppy hair behind her ear.
She cleared her throat, "I saw you at the meeting. Who was it for you?" she asked again, but with less confidence.
Carmen shook his head and turned back around, "Can't a man have a fucking cigarette in peace?" he said, blowing the smoke from his lungs. Margaret huffed and went back inside, annoyed by his response.
Once he heard to door shut, he relaxed. Carmen could feel his heart beating faster as memories of his brother ran through his head. He lifted the cigarette to his lips with a shaky hand, taking one last inhale. He flicked the butt on the ground, exhaled and crushed it with the toe of his shoe.
He ran his hand through his hair, breathing deeply and counting down from 10.
-
"Why is Carmen so complicated?" Margaret asked as she washed her hands. She grabbed the striped towel above her to dry her hands.
Sydney sighed, "That's just Carmy. It's always a guessing game when it comes to his mood."
"Carmy?" she recited as she returned to her station, picking up her knife. She delicately diced the remaining onions on the cutting board, pushing them aside to put away later.
Sydney turned around to stir her boil, "Yeah, Carmy is his nickname. Pretty much everyone uses it. Except Richie. Richie calls him 'Cousin.' I would suggest calling him Carmen for now, I don't think you're at the 'Carmy' level yet." Sydney added, making finger quotations.
Richie's voice cut Margaret off before she could answer, "Margaret, register!" he called from somewhere in the front. Margaret walked to the front, almost bumping into Carmen, who was coming back from in his smoke break.
"Sorry chef." she apologized and kept walking. Carmen just shook his head at her, walking back to his station. He was still ticked off from her question from earlier.
"Who asks a complete stranger that?" he thought to himself, as he took the meat out from the oven. "Fucking ridiculous." he said outloud.
Margaret sped-walked to the front, but Richie stopped her before she reached the register, "Can I call you 'Marge'? It's just that 'Margaret takes too long to say and 'Marge' is just easier, you know?" Richie asked.
"Um yeah, that's fine." she said as she walked over to the register. She turned back to the customer, "Hi, what can I get you?" she greeted him with smile.
"I didn't like my meal, I want a refund for it." he demanded. He was a larger man, both in weight and height.
"Well, you finished the meal sir, we can't give you a refund." she said, starting to grow anxious.
The man slammed his hand down on the counter, "Listen bitch, I asked for a refund so I'm getting my refund."
Margaret felt her nose sting as she looked over at Richie for help. He shook his head and silently encouraged her to figure it out herself. She turned back to the customer, "If you had something to give back to us, we could've given you a refund-" her voice wavered as she was cut off.
"I want my $9 back, fucking now!" he yelled. Richie set down the label maker and walked over to the register.
“Sir, you can’t get a refund. You ate the entire meal.” he stated, clearly annoyed. His italian accent grew thinker with each word.
The man looked at Richie, then Margaret, then back at Richie. He scoffed, "I don't have time for this," and turned around to leave.
Margaret sighed, resting against the counter. "You okay, Margy?" Richie rubbed her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her.
She looked up at him, brushing her hair out of her face, "Yeah, I'm good. Thanks Richie. But a nickname for my nickname?” They both laughed at that as Richie backed over to whatever project he was working on.
Carmen had watched the whole incident from afar.
"Margaret, a word." he called her back to the kitchen. She excused herself from Richie, then went to follow Carmen to his office. She walked into his office, which seemed like a large closet with shelving. There was piles of manila folders with papers sticking out of them that read "overdue", "rejected", etc.
"Sit down." he motioned to the chair in front of her. He stood against the wall, with his arms crossed. She timidly sat down, not knowing what to expect from him. She picked at her fingernails as she waited for him to finally speak.
"Why'd you get into this buisness?" he finally asked her. He kept his hard stare on her the entire time. She parted her lips to speak but nothing came out. "What was that?" he asked. She cocked her head slightly, not understanding what he was talking about. "At the register." he clarified.
"There was a customer-" she started but was cut off by him. She bit down on her lip to refrain from saying something rude.
Carmen pushed himself off the wall, "You let him walk all over you. Richie had to fucking step in." he said as he walked to the doorway.
"He didn't walk all over me." Margaret disagreed. Her back was turned to him, so she was not able to see his reaction.
He stopped, turning around to look at her, "If you can't hold your own, maybe this isn't the place for you, California." he said. He hit the doorway twice then left, leaving Margaret with her thoughts.

absolutely begging for you to talk about “28. jimmy jr and bob”
OH THAT ONE LOL as a tinimmy fan I'm not sure how interested you'd be but it's about jimmy jr coming out to gay to bob after a fight w/ his own dad. because bob feels safe as a queer adult in his life :( it's really sweet I wish i finished writing it
(on a similar note I always wanted to write about the MANY many similarities between bob and jimmy jr in terms of working in a restaurant from a young age, fighting w/ their dad, being named after their dad but failing to live up to the legacy etc even their speech disorders!!! this fic would have probably played into that later in their conversation)
"I don't know. Everything is—Ugh! I did something stupid, and my dad is angry at me about it. I couldn't think of anybody else to talk to about this. I know my mom wouldn't understand, and I don't… really want to tell her about it," Jimmy Junior started.
"What did you do?" Bob asked.
He knew that Jimmy Junior was a responsible kid and it was unlikely, but the first thing that his mind jumped to was that Jimmy Junior had accidently got somebody pregnant. There weren't a lot of stupid things that a teenage boy could do that their father wouldn't expect of them. Bob knew that, because he'd done quite a few stupid things when he was a teenager, and his father would never let him forget it.
Jimmy Junior took a deep breath, and Bob waited patiently. Even if he had gotten somebody pregnant or did something else equally stupid and irresponsible, it was obvious that Jimmy Junior trusted him and he needed support with whatever was going on. Bob promised that he would be there for his kids regardless of anything that they did, even if it was reckless or irresponsible, and that promise to himself applied to any other kids that came to him for advice or help with something.
"I told my dad that I think I'm, uh—I'm gay," Jimmy Junior said. His voice was so quiet that Bob almost couldn't hear him at all. "He didn't really… get it. He didn't kick me out or anything, but he said that I'm too young to know what I'm talking about, and that I'm just doing this to be rebellious and get his attention. Zeke said that I shouldn't tell him until I was ready, but I thought that if I told somebody it would make me feel more… confident, I guess? I feel like an idiot."
Bob didn't know what to say. He hadn't expected this. He knew that Jimmy Pesto was an asshole, but he hadn't expected him to be homophobic or to not accept his own son's sexuality.
"I-I'm sorry," Bob said awkwardly. "Did… why did you want to talk to me about this?"
"Tina told me that, uh, you're not… I know that you're married to Mrs. Belcher, but she said that you aren't straight. I thought you might understand, or at least, uh, you would kind of get it."

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is the best day of my life, getting people's re-reading thoughts is the best experience of my life AND FROM YOU TOO LU!! LOVE YOU!!!
ANyways. CHAPTER 1 THOUGHTS BUT WITH C O N T E X T now.
I can't remember if I always planned to mirror the intro line with Mikey. I'm pretty sure I did? I think I went back and forth a couple times on whether or not it was stupid-- And it very well might be, but I know it makes everyone rereading mad so I think it was worth it and good and cool of me.
Everyone gets so hung up on the love confession line now it makes me so happy. I'll be so fr I didn't plan Squidink to happen in the beginning-- Though I did originally concept this whole series as x Syd before switching lanes, I don't remember when it locked in for me that I was going to be gay about it. Probably Zero Pulse? Yeah probably.
carmen's gonna crash tony's credit score on purpose so she has to move out: canon-- canon i said it it's canon! kidding
THE DOOORKNOOBBB this I always planned-- I don't know if they go over it in canon but fr why the fuck did the inner knob break off so easy that's so deeply concerning man.
RICCHIEEE, he IS powerful stuff bro.
"lowkey hot tho😁" so tony is now a character and it's Tony x reader now, i see?
DONNNAAAAA, it only makes sense for Tony to be in a rush and avoid Donna in this opener, but I do also wonder how violently different this night would've gone if she listened in on their convo for like even two seconds.
It's extremely funny to go from "i need to be so nice to this kid, he meant everything to my best friend" to "what the FUCK are you yapping about?" in two seconds.
I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE USED TO THINK RICHIE SAYING COUSIN WAS FOR CARMEN, I remember for chapter 2 so many people going awe he calls her cousin-- baby, always has! Also were you a handyman in those dreams be HONEST!!!
smh chip if you simply just followed big bros advice you could probably be living together by now but NO Carmen had to get with the ACTUAL DOCTOR instead of the EMT!!!! bro loves women in healthcare
JUST COLD!!!! JUST COLD!!! man if i had a hat i'd throw it and i literally wrote all this. The little descriptions Mikey gave of his siblings were also honestly some of my favourite bits to write from this first chapter. Had to look at me and my two brothers and go how would I honestly describe these two and how brutal would I be about it? 100% older brother Mikey has to humble Carmen's ass with a ALWAYS EMPHASIZED R E T A I N I N G. He's proud but like. come on you didn't get them, carm.
i miss the days of short chapters. though I think we're kind of going back to it if not taking a brief pitstop of short. This next one I pray to god is under 10k i'll 86 myself i swear to god. LOVE YOU!!!

More Q!Tallulah Headcannons!!!
Tumblr media
(707woii on twitter)
Our girl Tallulah is back because I have more to talk about, so let's go!!!
• Tallulah can't cook, but can bake, her favorite to bake are cookies, pies and mexican treats
• She's a healer...well at least WAS before purgatory. She used to heal and be a dragon focused on life...om everything good...but trauma made her powers, energy and trust bitter and dark
• She 100% crochets, making little trinkets all over the house and loving to gift them to everyone in the island
• Definitely qualified as the weird kid, a Tumblr girl and a wattpad girl, reads and writes fanfics.
• She loves to garden with Niki, Tina, Bagi, Phil and Missa, often talking how she needs to explore for more plants and makes a diary only with plants, flowers and seeds she finds and how her garden is growing
• Learned how to nest with Phil
• we already discussed how I believe she sees ghosts and deities, but, Tallu also has the ability to see... Techno, often asking him for advice and stories with her father...
• Before she moved on from Wilbur...she would write songs about missing him...now all her songs are more lively because she found her family and place finally
• Her drawings before were getting grayer and darker, now they are an explosion of color
• In her emo phase definitely listened to my chemical romance
• She has a fragile health, yet that never stops Tallu of calling others for adventures especially if it's for cheering someone up

Some angst with Steddie fluff.
TW use of homophobic slurs
When Steve was 13, he realized that he may be into other boys. Sure, he thought plenty of girls in his 7th grade class were pretty, but he couldn't help that he also thought some of the boys were pretty, and he may even have a crush on one, namely Tommy.
Tommy had been his best friend for years, it made sense. Their dads were business associates and they were often stuck going to the same stuffy events. They just ended up spending a lot of time together.
The summer between 7th and 8th grade, they spent nearly everyday together, playing basketball, running around town, and just trying to past the time on those long hot days. One day in particular stands out in Steve’s mind. They were sitting by Steve's pool, drying off in the sun. Even at that age, Steve's parents began leaving him home alone, gone for days at a time, not even bothering with a nanny anymore. Needless to say, they were there by themselves.
He doesn't remember how exactly the topic came up, but he does remember asking Tommy. "Hey, do you think it's like possible to like boys and girls?" He was trying gage his reaction, playing dumb.
Tommy looks confused, but not...angry. "Yea, I mean, I guess. Why?"
Steve hesitates, still nervous but reminds himself that Tommy is his best friend. "I don’t know. I mean, like I kissed Tina R. last year at the Snowball and that was great. But I've been thinking about kissing boys too." He quickly looks away, afraid to meet the other boy's face.
After what seems like an eternity, Tommy responds, "That makes sense, I guess. I thought about kissing a boy before, you know..." He pauses, "Just to see how it feels."
Steve risks eye contact. "Really?"
"Uh, yeah." Tommy fidgets nervously.
A burst of bravery comes over Steve as he scoots a little closer to his friend. "Do you want to, um, maybe try it then?" Steve holds his breath once the words leave his mouth, bravery leaving him.
But Tommy nods and starts leaning in, and before Steve knew what was happening, his lips were against Tommy's. The kiss was chaste and awkward, but Steve loved it. When they pull apart, he can't help but smile.
Tommy, though, suddenly stands up, panic covering his face. "I gotta go."
"Wait...please..." Steve tries but Tommy is already running out of his backyard, leaving Steve alone.
After that, they don't talk about it. Steve tried once, only for Tommy to say "Look man, I'm not some faggot. I'm sorry you came onto me, but I'm just not like you. And if I were you, I would keep this whole thing to yourself. Try being normal. Wouldn't want your old man finding out."
And that feels like a knife in Steve’s chest, he knows what he saw, he knows Tommy wanted to kiss him too. But he just nods, never mentioning it again.
Tommy starts dating Carol the following year, and Steve takes his advice. He tries being "normal." He becomes the stereotypical high school popular boy, good with the girls, and no one knew his secret.
Even today he keeps his secret from all but Robin. He had a word for it now, bisexual, but that doesn't mean he goes out announcing it. He liked guys and girls, though is crush on Tommy had long since disappeared. But he does like someone new, Eddie.
He'd first realized he liked Eddie after they had saved the world together. He still remembers the terrified feeling in his chest as he ran with Eddie’s body out of the Upside-Down, praying to whoever might be listening to save him. And he made it, and Steve couldn't be more thankful.
Now, Eddie has become a permanent fixture in his life, often hanging out with the larger group. Sometimes, they even hang out alone. Steve likes those times a lot. Eddie makes him feel comfortable, like he can be himself, well for the most part. He still isn’t ready to tell him he is bisexual, and he definitely is not ready for the heartbreak of telling he likes him. He isn’t even sure Eddie likes guys, let alone him.
Tonight, is one of those times where they are alone. It is a few days before Thanksgiving. Steve and Eddie are at the only diner left in town, grabbing a bite to eat before going to a movie. Everyone else was busy. Steve doesn’t know when they started doing it, but when it is the two of them, they find themselves squeezed together on the same side of the booth. Eddie insists it’s so Steve can hear him better. Steve won’t admit it, but the various head injuries have started to affect his hearing, and Eddie seemed to be the only one who noticed. Steve just likes being close to Eddie. Their heads were close together, laughing over something Steve said.
“Steve.” A voice behind them calls out, its Tommy. He must be back in town for the holiday, home from college. Steve instinctively grates his teeth as he walks up, arm wrapped around Carol’s waist. “How’s it been, man?”
“What do you want, Tommy?” Steve says, not hiding his annoyance. It’s not like they hung out sense that fight in the parking lot, only talking to Steve to fuck with him.
“We’re adults now, can’t we just put that stuff in the past and catch up?” He puts on a condescending smile before scooting into the booth across from them, Carol following behind. She quietly adds “Hi, Steve.”
Steve only glares at him, ignoring Carol. Before he can say anything, Tommy gets a look at who is sitting beside him. “Eddie Munson?”
Eddie not phased, just gives a cocky grin “In the flesh…”
“Wow, how the mighty have fallen.” He laughs towards Steve. “I had to see if the rumors were true, some of the guys told me you were hanging out with the town freak, and I guess you were.”
Steve sees anger flash in front of his eyes, pissed off that Tommy thinks he can come in here and just treat his friends like that. He doesn’t even give Eddie the chance to defend himself. “You better watch your fucking mouth.” His voice in angry, a shakiness to it like he is about to lose control.
“Or what? You going to fight me? You didn’t last time, and I doubt you can now. All I am doing is telling the truth. He’s a freak.” He smirks. Steve balls his fists at his side.
He is about to stand up, ready to make his way across the table and kick Tommy’s ass, when he feels a hand on his thigh. Eddie softly says “It’s okay, Stevie. Let’s just get out of here.” Steve takes a deep breath, before nodding, beginning to walk away when Tommy opens his mouth again.
“Listen to your boyfriend, Stevie!” Tommy mocks as they are halfway to the door. “I’m glad you found yourself another faggot to hang out with!” The restaurant is quiet now staring between the boys now. Steve is so focused on Tommy, he does not even notice the panic look in Eddie’s eyes when Tommy said those words.
Suddenly the conversation from years before plays in Steve’s head, and he feels stupid for ever liking the other man. He doesn’t know what comes over him but before he can think better of it, he looks Tommy in the face and says, “I may be a faggot but at least I’m not an asshole!” He raise his voice even louder, making sure everyone can hear him. “And just for the record, everyone, Tommy let the faggot kiss him.” Steve smiles, ready self-destruct and pull everyone down with him. Eddie stands behind him mouth ajar, not sure what to say or do.
Tommy is fuming, and before anyone registers what is happening, he lunges at Steve, knocking him the floor and landing punch after punch to his face. Steve was unable to react in time, knowing he’s not the best fighter. He does get a good few punches in, landing one that cracks the bone in Tommy’s nose. In the background he can hear Carol screaming stop, and it isn’t until Eddie knocks Tommy off of him that he is able to get up. He walks out of diner, bloodied face, without a word. Eddie follows close behind. In the distance they can hear police sirens.
They get to Steve’s car, where much to Eddie’s surprise he gets into the passenger seat. “I’m not feeling too good, Eds…” He says softly. “Can you please just get us out of here?”
Eddie nods, taking the keys and driving them back to his trailer. Neither of them saying much, but Eddie periodically looking at Steve to make sure he is alright and still conscious.
It isn’t until they pull up to Eddie’s home that Steve says, “I’m…I’m sorry.”
“What? Why?” Eddie is confused, he has nothing to apologize for.
“For Tommy… and for pulling you into all that bullshit. I don’t want to make things harder for you…you know since my grand announcement inside the restaurant. It’s a small town, I’m sure word will spread.” He laughs sadly to himself. “Steve Harrington, into dudes. I’m sure my dad is going to be happy with that one. What I am saying is I would get if it’s easier for you not to be seen with me.” It hurts to say, not wanting to lose Eddie, even as a friend but he would get it. He looks down.
“Steve, the last thing I want to do is stop hanging out with you. What you did in there, standing up to Tommy, was pretty metal. Even if you got your ass kicked.” He laughs, but his eyes are kind.
Steve hides his face in his hands “Ugh thanks for reminding me.” Steve says, embarrassed.
“That’s not the point I am trying to make. I just think it’s cool how you were able to be open, even if not the best circumstances.” He pauses. “I wish I could do that.”
Now it is Steve’s turn to look at Eddie confused. Even with the bloody nose and black eye, Eddie still thinks he is the prettiest person he knows. “What do you mean? You are one of the most unapologetically you person I know, Eddie. You don’t have all that fake bullshit everyone else has. You’re just you….and I love that about you.” He voice shifts, sounding shyer.
“Being a freak is easy.” Eddie jokes, Steve cringes at the word that he himself used to describe Eddie months earlier. “But um, I’m not ready to come out…like you did. When Tommy called us…you know, I just assumed he was only calling you that because you were hanging out with me. To be honest, I was terrified that someone saw through me, knew I was one.”
Steve is not used to the lack of confidence in Eddie’s voice. He tries not think about what this confession could mean for them, tries not to get his hopes up, focuses on helping Eddie instead. “You don’t owe anyone in this town shit. Eds, if you aren’t ready to have a pride parade in the middle Hawkins, that’s fine. You could find a boyfriend, get married and live happily ever after and it still wouldn’t be anyone’s business if you don’t want it to be.  It can be our secret.” Steve puts his hand on Eddie’s shoulder, squeezing gently.
“Thanks, sweetheart…” Suddenly Eddie’s face is bright red, realizing what he just said. He calls Steve little nicknames all the time, but never in serious moments, and never so sincerely. Eddie expects him to freak out. Sure, Steve just said he liked guys, but that doesn’t mean he like him.
But Steve smiles, moving his hand from Eddie’s shoulder to the small of his neck, shifting in his seat so he is staring into Eddie’s eyes. “Can…can you call me that again?”
Eddie can’t believe this is happening, but he goes with it. “Sweetheart…” he puts his hand on Steve’s thigh, leaning closer. “Can…can I kiss you?”
And Steve gives him the prettiest smile he has ever seen, loving the way his nose scrunches when he smiles too big. Its adorable and Eddie has been hooked since the first time he saw it. Steve leans closer in response, resting his forehead against Eddie’s. Steve is inches away from his lips when he says “Only if you promise me you won’t run away from me after…” Steve doesn’t think he could handle someone…Eddie, changing his mind on him.”
“Oh princess, I could never.” Eddie says in breathy voice, desperate for Steve.
Steve’s face tinges pink at the sweet name, but he doesn’t hate it. Instead, he closes the gap between them, lips connecting with Eddie’s, his hands twist in the other man’s hair, the kiss is desperate and needy and everything Steve wanted.
When they break apart for air, Steve notices that he got some of his blood on Eddie’s face. “Oh god, Eds…I’m so sorry.”
Eddie just laughs before pulling Steve close. “Doesn’t bother me…” Before connecting their lips again.

I want to hear about your Henry and William’s relationship. Doesn’t matter which AU I just want to hear your thoughts on them?
Well.. They met in college and became quick friends. William loved Henry's genius how he could make those hunks of metal look alive and Socially awkward Henry was happy to make a real friend.
As both of them got into romantic situations together they did their best to help each other out. William giving terrible dating advice and Henry helping with the whole Tina situation
The friendship really got interesting when Fredbear's family diner started, That's when William's love for Henry really begin. As he settled into marriage and recovered from the Spring lock failure life grew boring. William had done everything he was supposed to he had a beautiful wife who would do anything he said, 3 wonderful children who would with his harsh instruction grow up to be just like him, And a community in town who loved him. Was this all that the world had planned for the great William Afton and Henry Emily Mundane stupid lives? William hated the fact that Henry didn't understand how trapped he was. That they were meant for so much more than taking care of a couple of sniveling brats. Henry couldn't see how beautiful and smart and wonderful he was??? If only Henry could understand then they would be amazing they would be God (obviously this makes perfect sense)
Well William was doing that... Henry was having the best part of his life taking care of Sammy and Charlie
So William killed Charlie and hopes that Henry would understand. Instead Henry melted collapsed into a pile of sadness and depression. This made William feel bad. This wasn't what was supposed to happen Henry was supposed to wake up and they were supposed to build their Empire... William really started to consider if he had done something wrong. But it was nice to comfort Henry to be henry's only source of stability. Only source of joy it seemed like Henry was starting to understand what William already knew.
Henry for his part felt like garbage and felt like William was the only good thing in a sea of more garbage. every time He was with William he felt like life was going to be okay.
There's a lot more that happens after that like a lot needless to say everything gets Worse for both of them as time goes on. Their relationship together is incredibly co-dependent and really really toxic. William sort of views Henry as a God for being able to create perfect life unlike him who just can create horrible monsters. And Henry views William as the only person who can really understand him
