“No buddy, without me there is no you” ARGGGHH it kills me how Rust even under all his nihilism and peculiarities, still seems more aware of their relationship, as if he’s been waiting for years to Marty to catch up on his own, to face, accept and give in to his real feelings about each other.
The best part is how Marty can’t say anything after that and just let him goes, as if he knew too but wasn’t AGAIN ready to face his feelings.
It’s amazing how time being a flat circle works with them as well, taking to know the other so well and develop their bond trough years, even those they spent apart to of course, circle back to each other.
Marty is Rust’s heart and Marty is rusted from the inside without him.

'You really just can't fuckin' quit me, can you?'
Vitali scoffed, nostrils flaring on exhale and the smoke of his cigarette stung in his nose as his eyes followed Nick's frantic pacing back and forth through the tunnel.
'Assuming I ever was addicted to you in the first place,' he said in return, tilting his head up in defense when Nick's gaze snapped in his direction.
'It means nothing anymore, Nick— you ruined everything for me. There is nothing left for us now.'

I've always believed Danny to be a more casual smoker (compared to Legion who could chainsmoke all day like hooligans) considering he's lived through the 70s/80s/90s. Definitely a "cigarette after sex" kinda guy, one after he finishes a kill to come down from the adrenaline, maybe one or two when he's doing a task over several hours (stalking, driving cross country, writing an article). Probably more frequently if he's particularly stressed over something, but otherwise it would take a couple weeks for him to finish a pack.
Anyways that's just to say it's very funny to me to realize how much I've drawn him smoking almost exclusively when he's being annoyed by Legion. Especially baby!Legion.

Does jason smoke in canon?
quick response is here is him post-crisis shown lighting a cigarette in batman #408, so yes he did smoke. can't recall a panel of him post resurrection smoking but wouldn't be surprised if there is one, if i remember later I'll add it on. smoking isn't a BIG thing with him, not like fanon can emphasize, but there is an origin to him smoking when he was younger
[ID: two images of young post-crisis Jason Todd. First image is a panel of him sitting on a mattress in the apartment he's squatting in lighting a cigarette to his lips as Batman watches in the doorway. Second image is a close-up of the next panel where the cigarette has fallen from Jason's lips in shock and there is a little swirl of smoke. End ID]
