What I love about this sequence of pages is that, we get to see Mitsumi in Sousuke’s POV at honestly her most stunning. She’s glowing in the sunset, the wind is caressing her hair, she’s got this soft smile on her face... and Sousuke is so shook that when he gets pinched by that crab he isn’t even processing it because he was so taken aback by that moment.

Furthermore, we don’t immediately see his face when it happens. We just see the back of his head as he goes “Oh, ouch” “I’m good” “Yep” but then we do see his faceー and dude is so red because it’s finally hitting him that he is absolutely gone and probably has been for a while.

Then Mukai, post romance-talk, is like “So how was the crab bro?” and Sousuke is basically like “Huh? What crab?” because he is so shook and you can tell just from that panel that Sousuke’s eyes are on Mitsumi and Mitsumi alone.

No offense but I feel like among IDW1 Megatron fans you can lowkey tell who's read multiple series of the comics (namely, phase 1 and early phase 2) and who's only read MTMTE by the way they talk about, headcanon, or write Megatron. And like it does genuinely make a huge difference because I feel like MTMTE Megatron in general is a different flavor of Megatron from the rest of the series..... not OOC, that's the wrong word, but like....... more as if JRO had a very specific vision of him and janked the reins of the series to drive Megatron down a specific interpretation of his character, which is still in-character but is very different from the way he was characterized early in the series.

But in terms of Megatron fans, you can really tell the difference between MTMTE-only readers and other-parts-of-IDW readers.

oki sooo they are very androgynous and have kinda short fluffy black hair, they are around 5’7 ish and they always are kinda dressed corporate goth and have like librarian glasses if that makes sense- and they have two heart shaped birthmarks (one of the palm of their hand the other on their cheek)

ok so they had to learn their abilities through their mom who is a witch and very lovely but most of their abilities were taught by their mom and their familiar (found him in the streets took him in and found out he was both their familiar and also like a shapeshifter sense he can turn into a human)

they are non-binary and their mom is super accepting their dad is a toad- (mom turned him into a toad by accident when she found out he cheated on her so they keep him in a cage)

loo is dating their familiar who’s name is Alice (he’s not actually a cat- he’s like a ghost/spirt who takes the shape of a cat to blend in and get free food :3)
