i do think its kinda funny when i see someone in the year of our lord 2024 talk about vocal synth music like its all gone downhill since like 2010 because like dont get me wrong i love a good niconicodouga-ass 2008 ass vocaloid joint BUT also like. the past couple years have had the most fascinatingly creative and expressive uses of vocal synthesizers ive ever heard in my life DJFSKHJDFS dont write it all off just yet!!
#usually i only see that from people who havent actually listened to any vsynth music from the past 15 years so i understand why they got to#that conclusion. and also usually theyre people who didnt listen to much vsynth music in the first place LOL they just dont know#but it is still a little funny. brother there are things beyond your wildest dreams if u just look#like some personal highlights: the stuff by rinri - particularly their use of the meika girlies#dont carry our memories away is LIFECHANGING the whispers. the spoken parts. the BELTS#plus the haunting and unrelenting instrumentation. fantastic song#and naisho no pierced's propose + birthday + gift sort of trilogy of songs. gift especially has been unreal#again the dynamics of soft intimate whispers to belts but also those fuller high notes with edges of growlyness.#plus the songs just generally rock. and those LYRICS. absolutely intense like physically painful and frightening like#yearning and codependency and possession. and the tuning and production just amps it up more#OH and slave.v.v.r has been doing crazy things for even longer but i only started getting into his stuff recently and holy shit#love eater is like. the scariest vocaloid song ive ever heard not because of the lyrics. but because of the tuning#im like. scared. i cant stop listening to it. the heavy synthesized breathy main vocals and whispered harmonies plus the VOCAL FRY#i didnt realized vocaloid5? i think? has a vocal fry option built in i heard? thats crazy#but specifically in love eater the fry and growl is amped up so deep and loud and clear compared to everything else it like#emphasizes the artificiality of the voice while also amping up the expressiveness#its awesome. and on the older slave.v.v.r songs i heard i will hit you 8759632145 times with this piano. also so fucking cool#addicted to that song. 1) its a great jazzy rocky piano tune with this piano flourish at the end of each phrase that sounds fantastic#but also 2) the lyrics are insane. using kanji to write english??????#people are doing wild ass things with vocal synths rn you guys#this isnt even getting into some of the really unique synths themselves too. adachi rei is awesome i love that shes just like#the perfect inbetween of sample based and reconstruction based vocals. shes a sample based synth#but her samples were drawn by hand LOL shes like dectalks granddaughter to me.....#a really good use of adachi rei is iyowa's heat abnormal/heat anomaly/whatever its called ITS AWESOME thats what it is hjrkfdgfd#i think the fact that vocal synths can be so realistic and clean and noiseless out the gate now has made people really stop worrying#about like. realism all together and looking more into expressiveness. omg vocal synth modernist movement

i'm really embarrassed to make this request because I'm like, the person who least knows how to use tumblr and i've never even made a comment, but I love your writing so I'm going to try request
can you do jax, caine or raghata (whatever you feel most like writing) x a goth reader who is actually a very sweet person? (the kind of person who looks like he eats bats for breakfast and kicks puppies, but it will be really affectionate and kind) also it would be cool if the reader played eletric guitar, but that's just my ego that is proud to play speaking for me, it's not really necessary
sorry if I wasn't really clear, if the request is cringe or if my english is bad, it's not my first language so i'm trying my best
Jax, Caine, and Ragatha x sweet!goth!reader !
This isnt a weird request at all! Actually this is pretty tame/normal(????) Compared to some requests (trust me I've gotten requests that are far weirder than this that I didnt even bother publicly denying because the subject material was just so.....
You know?
Written on mobile!!
Gonna do this request then let my phone charge and then get back on requests!! Been slacking a little this week
Tumblr media
CAINE:
Honestly I think caine absolutely LOVES your style. Like obviously you may look a little funky since you know, digital world.. but I think he would still be allured by your looks... he is totally thrown for a loop when you reveal your personality though.! Not that hes complaining, though, he has a sweet tooth, you know
He WOULD use that line, too
Oooo if you're able to do your makeup and it's not just a part of your face he would love to sit with you and help you
RAGATHA:
I dont think she would hate goth fashion, but I do think she would be a little intimidated by how intense you look... I mean, you look like you're into really intense stuff
Except
You're not
I think she would feel really... really bad.. when she gets to know you and finds out you're one of the sweetest people shes ever met
Likes listening to you play your electric guitar.. sometimes makes song requests!
Loves playing with your hair
....
I think she would let you dress her up and do her makeup, if you offer
JAX:
Getting this out of the way; OUR FAVORITE HC! THE FIDGET HC!! if you have any dangling accessories jax is going to fidget and play with it
Torn between making jax the type to tease you or think it looks cool...
Both, I can see him doing both
Its thinly veiled hints of him being into your aesthetic/style
You kind of see the gears working in his head when he realizes you don't act at all how he thought you were gonna act
So sweet.. so kind...
Such a.. vulnerable target for his pranks!!/j
But actually../hj...
I think he would be into goth people tbh Idk why it just dawned on me

wibta if i asked for help from the ppl who i harassed for months?
ok so basically i (18f, at the time 16f) really like this group. but one day they just went on "indefinite hiatus" for no reason. and obviously i was really mad. so after a few months of trying to pick the right person to blame i decided it was entirely thr fault of this one asshole, who literally went and made his OWN GROUP like right after this hiatus was announced. the little turd clearly wanted out due to hating his members. and that's not even the worst part. he actually started gaining traction after this dumb little move. and after the turd made a collab with a pretty popular kpop group (and we all know how kpop stans are with their mass streaming) this loser was getting more attention than thr guy that I LIKE.
my guy was the most talented pretty and popular member of the group when it was active, and he could sell out dome tours with his solo work all the time. he just did that in fact. but now that this other bitch was using kpop stans for clout he was the one getting all the attention. and it rubbed off on his group he made and their trash music as well. but this isn't about him it's about me.
like i said i got really upset, and once i decided this was all turd boy's fault, i shamelessly harassed fans of this "person" and the dumb little group he made, mostly by way of spamming gore in their discord servers and wikis. this lasted for months until one of them eventually doxxed me back. i'll admit i shouldn't have done all of this. but i was just fighting against traitors in the industry.
but, it's been over a year since then. and i've moved on. until a few weeks ago. this third guy "came out" in a clear pr stunt. like with a whole press confrence and everything he didnt even try to hide it. and then he dropped a new song right after. somebody's jealous of the sold out dome tour!
but not everyone realises its a pr stunt. ppl are falling for it and streaming the new somg. and if the hype doesn't die down soon my guy will be in THIRD. i can't let that happen or else i'd be a failure but i have a plan.
hypothetically, i would slide back into the discord server, explain my dilemma, and maybe stans of the first turd would be willing to mass stream my guy's amazing new song and i guess i'll mass stream whatever crap their guy shat out recently. they're smart people, they doxxed my cats after all. i'm sure they'll understand.
but i fear that it would be kind of a dick move to act all buddy buddy with a server who i went crazy on and harassed for months on end. but on the other hand i can't let my idol be at only third most monthly listeners in his old group!! so i don't know what to do, wibta if i went through with this?
What are these acronyms?

ive got a one free sincere poetical diatribe coupon that expires this week so im cashing it in on waxing lyrical about my favorite band for a minute cause im stupidly sleep deprived and its gonna be a long night so
the thing is this.
the thing is that maybe there isnt quite magic in this world but theres something to be said for the pure unfettered serendipity of a million little things conspiring to have certain peoples paths cross and the way this can change entire worlds. maybe i dont believe in magic but i believe in the unshakable fucking certainty that a 17 year old joe trohman had when he met a 17 year old patrick stump in a bookstore by sheer chance and listened to his demos and Knowing that he should sing despite patrick not being a singer and not particularly wanting to sing. i believe in the stone cold rock solid belief this kid had in this other kids voice to the point where he dragged his buddy over to his house to prove he had the pipes they needed. i believe in pete wentz hearing patrick stump sing in person for the first time and realizing wait, yeah, actually hes our golden fucking ticket. i believe in the last second just before patrick was about to get on the kit to record the drums for take this to your grave, andy hurley comes swinging in fresh from recording an ep with another band and knocking out every drum part damn near flawlessly. i believe in a band of scrappy dumb punk kids who grew up in the suburbs of the midwest and took over the world and didnt plan for any of it to get as big as it did. i believe in this weird fucking band with their weird fucking idiosyncrasies, this band of four guys who dont look like they should be friends let alone making music together: a heavily tattooed vegan straightedge beefcake drummer, the ambitious visionary bassist with the 50-megawatt grin, the tattoo-sleeved lanky guitarist with an inescapable rock 'n roll bent, the pixie-pale and painfully anxious frontman with the voice of a soul singer.
i believe theres a special kind of chemistry that only makes sense with the four of them, together. its the guy with the visuals and the words, this bassist who was supposed to be a lawyer or a star soccer player but instead crafts stories from the narratives he crafts in his head. its this guitarist with his love for the interleaving of sounds and ability to seamlessly jump from front-facing to incredibly restrained and his indelible blues-rock momentum. its this singer who never intended to sing but whose soaring, clear tenor is so utterly distinct that he quickly became one of the most iconic and versatile vocalists in the genre, if not in the world of music in general. its this hardcore drummer who pulls everything together and forms the throbbing heartbeat of the band, whose grit-edged metalcore backbone not even the poppiest of all pop choruses can truly file away.
i believe in this: andy hurley's unshakable faith that the band would reform during the hiatus, despite all evidence to the contrary. patrick stump writing the song that would become "miss missing you" for his solo record but then setting it aside because it didnt feel like it was for him, again, despite every indication that for all anyone knew, fall out boy was done for good. pete wentz, moved by a miserable blog post from his split-up bands singer, reaching out and sparking what was unheard of, especially for bands like them - a renaissance, a successful resurgence, and one of the best comebacks any musical act can say theyve had in decades. joe trohman picking up the phone and preparing to tell patrick stump that he wasn't ready to go back and do the band again if he wasn't going to be writing music, only for patrick to take the words out of his mouth and insist that he should be writing more and he was too talented a writer for them not to allow him space for that.
i believe in the little things. i believe in a band that was never expected to last a summer but has become an indelible part of music history, naysayers be damned. i believe in the unique chemistry of four guys who have no monetary or logistical reason to continue doing this thing aside from the fact that they love it so - they love the process of creating with one another, and they love the car crash hearts whose hearts beat in sync with theirs. i believe in joe listening to the first pass of "fake out" exactly once, picking up an acoustic guitar, and walking into record the instrumentation that ultimately pulled the entire song together in one take without thinking twice about it. i believe in andy simply knowing that "heaven, iowa" would make the final cut of the record despite patricks reticence and his not knowing how to make the song something he could say he was proud of. i believe in pete pouring some of his most vulnerable feelings into his, fearful of how well they will be accepted but making that leap nonetheless, only for the crowds to sing every single word back to him.
maybe theres no such thing as magic or fate and maybe theres no point. but i think of stardust. i think of four guys who poured so much love and time into this record and named it for stardust and i think of them as this: fistfuls of cosmic dust who all sprang from the same etiology. i think of them and its a romantic fucking notion but i allow myself this, i entertain the thought that when the cosmos formed and the detonation of planets and the dissolution of comets created that far-flung scatter of so much (for) stardust, that starry residue liberally dotting the broad span of the black, the four of them all came from the same origin point and like magnets ended up snapping together and thats the way theyve stayed. for years. for decades.
what i guess im trying to say is this: when the universe formed we all came from stardust and we will all return to stardust and i cant help but wonder if those four guys all came from the same stardust too.
like i said. its a romantic fucking notion. i believe in the little things though. and you know what they say about believers (never die).

Sing Yourself to Sleep - Part Six - Bucky x Y/N - Secret Love Song
This part has been my favourite to write so far, which is why it is the longest. And this song is actually what inspired the series. Based on Secret Love Song by Little Mix feat. Jason Derulo.
Some people say this song is actually an LGBT anthem, I feel that more so for the version with just Little Mix. In this version Derulo clearly sings 'Nobody knows, I'm in love with someone's baby.' So I take it to be that this version is more about an affair type situation. Music is always up to interpretation, so if you feel the song is about something different, that's okay. Anyways, Enjoy!
Bucky was sad, and angry, maybe mostly angry. He had been offered a weekend pass to go to London, but he didnt want to go. He did want to go, but not without her. He could picture it clear as day, walking through Hyde Park hand in hand, sitting in a cosy little pub with their arms around each other. Nobody would know them, nobody would know that she was married to another man, people would just see a soldier and a girl, his girl. Then at night, oh boy at night... Bucky imagined all the ways he would show her his undying love for her. The way he would touch and kiss her. It would be heaven.
Sadly his fantasy would stay just that. There was no way she could come with him. He would go alone, spend his days in a bar alone and his nights in bed alone. While she would be in bed with her husband.
Today was Tuesday, and Bucky had one more mission tomorrow before his weekend pass commenced. This was a big one, more planes going up at once than they ever had before. It was dangerous from what the CO's were saying. A lot of the men were nervous, Bucky didnt have time to be nervous when his thoughts were consumed by Y/N.
As with every mission they were treated to a big breakfast the morning of. Bucky walked into the mess hall to see Y/N laying out muffins for everyone. He walked up to her, eyeing the selection of baked goods. 'You always make such tasty treats.' She jumped, not realising he was behind her. 'Good morning, Major. What tickles your fancy today? Blueberry? Or Raspberry?' He looked at her, with the ost sinful of looks. He was undressing her with his eyes. 'You know exactly what I fancy.' She looked around to make sure nobody was within earshot. 'Someone might hear you!' she whisper-yelled. 'Its fine, nobodys listening. All too worried about todays mission.' She suddenly looked worried too, like she had forgotten the reason for such a spread of food until now.
'Are you nervous?' she looked up at him. 'Ah I'll be fine doll, don't worry about me. If you want though, I could use a good luck kiss..' he winked at her. She once again looked to make sure nobody was listening. 'Our closet? Thirty minutes?' 'Its a date. Or as close to a date as I can take you' He looked almost sad as he said it. He went to sit down next to Buck, ignoring his judging look.
Thirty minutes later they were in the supply closet kissing. Bucky wished he didn't have to be crammed into this tiny space, but it was the only way he could touch her or hold her. 'I'm going to miss you.' She said between kisses. 'I'll only be gone a day doll. How you gonna manage a hole weekend?' 'Weekend?' she said confused. 'Uh yeah, I've got a weekend pass, going to London for some R'n'R as they say... I'd love to take you with me.' She looked down, unable to meet his gaze even in the dark closet. 'You know I want to, but I can't.' He took her chin in his hands, forcing her to look at him. 'I know Y/N, a man can only dream of getting to spend a whole day nevermind a weekend with you. Maybe someday.' 'Someday.' she said half-heartedly.
The men left no more than an hour later. Y/N busied herself by baking. She figured the men would want something sweet when they came home. And they would come home. She settled on vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting. She baked six dozen cupcakes. Perhaps a little too many, but when she was baking she could pretend she wasnt anxiously waiting for her secret lover to return from a deadly mission. When she had baked all she could, she returned to her quarters. She decided to take a bath, shave her legs, style her hair and redo her makeup. I want to look nice for when Bucky returns. Not that it would matter, its not like she could run to him when he stepped out of the plane. She wouldnt be able to be anywhere near him, less she cause suspicion. Unless...
She walked up to the control tower where Albert and the other CO's were waiting for the planes to fly in. They were due back in around twenty minutes. Albert noticed her standing in the doorway, 'Hello sweetheart, what are you doing here?' He gave her a kiss on the cheek. She showed him the cupcakes she had brought with her. 'I made far too many, thought you boys might like some.' 'Thanks darling, oh chocolate!' As Y/N put the plate down in the middle of the table, Albert and the other men each took a cupcake. She sat talking to Albert and the other CO's until suddenly the sound of planes filled the air.
She watched one by one as the planes rolled in, mechanics and medics meeting them on the tarmac. 'How many do you count?' asked Albert. 'Eleven. Were missing five.' Harding replied. Please let Bucky be okay. Please. Then she saw him. Behing helped out of the plane. He was covered in blood. Oh no.
The flak had been more intense than Bucky had ever witnessed before. Five planes went down, with many more experiencing heavy damage and injured men. They barely made it out alive. He looked worse than he was though, A piece of flak had embedded itself in Bucky's shoulder. The doctors told him if it had just been a few inched over, it would have hit his heart and he'd be gone. He was covered in blood, most of it wasnt his though. Murph got hit pretty bad, Bucky did all he could to try stop the bleeding. He still wasn't sure if his friend was in the land of the living or not. All he wanted to do was ask for Y/N, tell someone to go find her. But he couldnt. The nurses woud wonder why he was so insistant on seeing the Colonel's wife.
Once he was checked over and stitched up, a nurse offered to take him to the washroom to get rid of the blood he was still covered in. He insisted he go alone however, wanting time to himself.
After some time, Y/N was desperate to get to the infirmary to check on Bucky. She didn't know how to go down there without causing suspicion. She then remembered the cupcakes. She could take some to the injured, the nurses would appreciate them too. She quickly excused herself from the controll tower, went back to the kitchen to grab another tray of cupcakes and made her way to the infirmary.
When she arrived, it was only slightly chaotic. Most of the injuries had been taken care of, the men resting. She went to the nurses station. Looking around her frantically, nowing she couldnt ask about Bucky specifically. She then saw a nurse changing the sheets on a bed, a bed covered in blood. Her thoughts ran wild. Oh no, he didnt make it. 'Mrs Clarke, what a lovely suprise.' it was a nurse, Marie, she thought her name was. 'I.. I wanted to bring some treats down to you all. Lift the mood.' 'Oh they look delicious. Thank you!' Just then another nurse walked up to Marie. 'Marie, where's Major Egan?' 'Oh he's in the washroom, insisted he go alone.' Thank God. 'Go check on him will you? Last thing we need is someone passing out in the washroom.' The older nurse replied before walking off. 'I best get back to work Mrs. Clarke, thanks again for the cupcakes.' With that the nurse walked away in the direction of the wash room.
She knew she shouldn't, it was risky, but she had to. She followed Nurse Marie to the washroom. She watched from around a corner as the nurse went inside, no sooner had she came in than she left again. Once she was gone, Y/N made her way in. The washroom was small, just two shower stalls with a curtain each and a basin on the other side of the wall. 'John?' she called out to him. 'I said I'm fine!' she shouted back. 'John, its me, Y/N.' His head poked out from behind the shower curtain, 'Y/N? What are you doing here?' She came further into the room, just the shower curtain separating them. 'Are you okay? I was so worried! I saw you come out of the plane, and you were covered in blood..' 'I'm fine doll. Got hit in the shoulder but I'm okay, most of it wasnt my blood. I didn't realise you were there when we landed.' 'I was in the control tower with Albert. It was the only way I could see you without rousing suspicion.'
That's the way it would always be. He would never get off a plane and see her standing there ready to run into his arms, he could never kiss her in the officers club the way other men kissed their red cross girls. It would always be cloak and dagger, hiding from the world. He wanted to badly to hold her, have her touch soothe away his aches and pains. 'Join me.' he said softly. She was taken aback 'Bucky, I can't... I shouldnt even be in here someone could walk in at any moment.' The look on his face near broke her. 'Please doll, I need you.' He pulled back the curtain, revealing himself to her. She could see his stitched up shoulder, the bruises along his chest and ribs. He still looked like a Greek god. His eyes were pained, silently begging her for comfort. She slowly unbuttoned her blouse, stepping out of her shoes and letting her skirt drop to her feet. She undid her bra, pushing her panties to the floor. He looked at her in awe. Like an angel ready to guide him to heaven. It was the first time they had actually seen eachother fully naked; every other encounter they had was rushed in dark spaces, most clothing remaining on. 'You're beautiful.' he said softly. He held out his hand to her, she took it and stepped inside the shower with him, letting the warm water wash over her.
Arms around eachother, her head on his chest , they stood there silently. No words were needed. Most of the blood had been washed away, except for a few stubborn bits where it had dried in. She took the washcloth and some soap, gently moving the cloth over him, careful not to hurt him. 'That feels nice.' he whispered. Whispered, as if he was afraid any sudden movements or loud noises would shatter the dream he was in.
His dream was shattered when the door to the washroom opened. Y/N panicked, backing herself into the corner of the shower as if it could somehow swallow her. 'Bucky? You okay in there?' It was Gale Cleven. 'Yeah.. Yeah I'm all good Buck. Just relaxing.' Bucky shouted back. 'You've been in there a long time..' Buck replied. Bucky shouted, perhaps a little too forcefully; 'Dammit Buck I said I'm fine!' 'Alright, if you say so...' Buck's voice trailed off as he left the room, but not before he noticed that not all the clothing lying on the floor belonged to Bucky.
'Oh god, that was close.' Y/N breathed a sigh of relief. 'I wish we didn't have to hide from him like this.' Bucky replied sullenly. 'I know, me too. But its the only way.' Bucky looked at her, he wanted to shout to the whole world that she was his. 'Come to London with me.' he said suddenly. 'What? Bucky how on earth could I-' 'It will be great! A whole weekend of just me and you, no hiding, no stolen moments in closets. Just me and you.' She could see the desperation in his eyes. 'I would love that, but what would I tell Bertie?' 'I don't know, I don't know anything. I just want to be with you.'
They had left not long after, Y/N drying her hair and quickly running back to her quarters, Bucky leaving a few moments later. Bucky was told to stay in the infirmary overnight so they could keep an eye on his stitches. He wasnt best pleased. He had too much time to sit and think, think about her, think about her and her husband. It killed Bucky that Y/N was lying next to him at night while Bucky lied in a small infirmary bed. Y/N was torn. She wanted so badly to go with Bucky to London, but knew it was next to impossible. She was afraid Albert was starting to sense something was off, he asked her 'Are you okay dear?' more often than she could count. It was when she was once again baking enough muffins for the whole air force that she had the idea...
Bucky lay in his army-issued pajamas in the infirmary. He had hardly slept and was in a crabby mood, most of the nurses were avoiding him. Then he heard a nurse speaking not too far away. 'Mrs. Clarke! Back again? With more muffins oh how kind of you!' 'Well I once again baked a little too many, and I thought you nurses as well as your patients might like some.' 'Oh thats so thoughtful. I'll hand them round later.' the nurse said. 'Oh no, I can do it, its no trouble.' Before the nurse could protest Y/N was making her way round the infirmary handing out muffins.
She reached Bucky's bed and his face lit up. 'Hello Gorgeous.' he said smiling. Y/N kept looking around incase someone was listening. 'Major Egan, how are you feeling today?' 'I'm much better for seeing you.' he said with a wink. Y/N moved closer to him lowering her tone, 'Someone might hear you! I've brought muffins, it was the only reason I could think of to come see you.' She handed him a muffin, he held onto her hand far longer than necessary, the muffin placed between their hands. He stroked her hand with his thumb. Once again afraid of getting caught, she wiggled her hand from his grip. Hi face turned down in dissapointment. 'You better get going, I'm sure you still have plenty of those to pass 'round.' He said, avoiding eye contact. 'Yeah you're right, but I cant leave without knowing what time our train leaves tomorrow.' He looked up in shock, certain he had missheard her. 'Our train?' he asked hopefully.
'Yes, our train. I've found a way to come with you. We're going to London Major, together.'

i treated myself to two pairs of headphones (over ear & buds) that were relatively cheap for the sound quality they produce... it feels like the first time ive ever listened to music.
(putting under readmore because its literally a novel. i just need to talk about this rn)
i tried the earbuds first and was blown away by the quality. it sounded clearer than any headphones i had before! then i tried the over the ear ones, and at first i was a lil disappointed (i was listening on my phone using the aux to usb dongle), but figured maybe the computer would make them sound a bit better bcz the dongle makes some stuff sound a lil quieter on my phone.. still sounded okay but not great.
out of the purest curiosity, because the person i took advice from mentioned the dongle has a dac in it (which is needed for some headphones but i didnt think this one was included?), i plugged the dongle into my computer and was IMMEDIATELY BLOWN AWAY
i used a song ive heard a million times and know back and forth to test it... it nearly brought me to tears hearing it w these headphones. it feels like you can pick apart the layers of instruments and vocals.
each song that plays i keep exclaiming "IT SOUNDS LIKE (X INSTRUMENT)!!!!!" like a giant fool LMAO. you can hear them so clear im left sounding stupid.
i truly didnt know you could make instruments in digital formats sound exactly like youd hear them in person. like visualize how a classic piano key sounds. the depth it has, where you can hear the inner workings of the piano moving about to make that very sound... THATS WHAT I CAN HEAR IN THIS! im sure for some people this is nothing, but i have truly never had good proper headphones like these. i started off my search almost getting sucked into the convenience of bluetooth ones and im so glad i didnt and i did a bit of research from people who actually know better & are passionate about this stuff
i also keep needing to pause my music because ill get to a new part of a song and get overwhelmed by how beautiful it sounds.
THIS IS SO LONG AND IS LITERALLY JUST ABOUT FUCKING HEADPHONES LMAOO. ITS JUST THAT GOOD!!!!!

i think my first exposure to AI art might've been this video where somebody was testing out this new, weird thing where they automatically generate a song using AI, and i couldnt help but feel that it was an indictment of the modern music scene that a goddamn computer could effortlessly and accurately replicate the generic swill that passes for popular music nowadays. didnt have a vocalist synthesized yet but those have been becoming a thing too, or so i hear.
i saw a little article about how the newer generations of gamers are turning more and more to retro games. as somebody technically belonging to the "newer generations" this felt self evident, as frankly most of the gaming i do nowadays is almost invariably in an emulator. i think that to a certain extent, most of the best mainstream games that are going to be made already have been, at least for the forseeable future of major developers with games made scientifically perfect for milking you for the most money possible rather than as an art form. im sure it's all gonna collapse in on itself eventually, from what i hear some of the older folks who lived through more than i have we've been here before. hell, pretty much anybody who cares even a bit about gaming history knows first and foremost about the gaming crash of the early 80s, mostly spurred on by the temporal equivalent of modern cheap asset flip garbage that floods most stores these days. it's hard not to feel like we're about to see a massive crash yet again, with the ones inheriting the earth being the little fellas, and of course nintendo. which, makes sense, their earliest history is of weathering shit just like this, of course they'd know when to spot enshittification and stay clear of it. i'm in no way saying that nintendo is exempt of being a shitty corporation, but i will say that from a business standpoint they're one of the only ones i know of that actually seem to understand the idea of sustainability on a broad scale. hell of a lot better than the likes of activision, thats for damn sure. but back to what i was actually trying to get at before i adhd tangent'd, i think it makes a lot of sense that when the majority of the shit being put on the market is corporatist, design by comittee, prefab trash with aggressive monetization and a consistent attitude of fixing any problems in patches, it makes a hell of a lot of sense that we'd go back to our roots. NES mario is the same as its ever been, has been for over 30 years, and will be in another 30. you dont gotta worry about them patching it to make it actually function as advertised, or patching it from being something you enjoyed into something you hate, or having fomo marketing based microtransaction bullshit. the most that's gonna change is that every now and again, nintendo will make the only version they give not have flashing lights for epileptic folks, or patch out mike tyson because he sucks and replace him with a white guy, and the white guy's less hard but thats ok because it's still pretty hard, and either way it's a good game, fun, and you can still find the original on rom sites and also probably ebay if you dont have a vpn but do have a disposable income, so dont worry about it. getting sidetracked again, ANYWAYS-
what i wanted to get at is that i wonder if we're gonna see a similar resurgence in other old kinds of media just like, in general, for the mainstream. like why watch the 22nd reboot of ghost busters when the originals are right there. king crimson's still good, why dont you listen to them instead of bemoaning how your new favs are problematic, even though i dont think fripp can reclaim the fag slur (im gay, i can it's fine). i've recently been watching fist of the north star and original dragon ball, ilike the m. there are books. lots of those, actually,. you can read em! if you have the attention span. i honestly think we might be seeing more and more of this, now that im looking out for it. like i see just like, random people mention how much they like prog rock or 1930s dracula. relatively normals talk about how they like lemon demon these days. those stupid aestheticized classic anime accounts on twitter get sososo many likes. can you tell im sleep deprived writing this? i can, and im writing thjis. im writing this SO HARD. send poast.

hi markets how is life going for u bc basically the guy who was my best friend for years well we stopped talkign last spring completely bc long story short he was Very in love with me and i could not get myself to feel the same even though i TRIED girl i genuinely tried sohard but that just ended up with him feelinbg led on and hurt and asked to never speak to me again hahalol well yeah he just texted me out of the blue bc he got a leaked frank ocean song and sent it me. because he knows i love frank ocean and knew i wouldg love it and whAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THAT DOESNT HE REALIZE THAT NOW THIS SONG WILL BE FOREVER ATTACHED TO THE FEELING OF GUILT AND HEARTBREAK AND ILL NEVER BE NORMAL ABOUT A SONG THAT WILL PROBABLY NEVER BE RELEASED AND WILL ONLY EVER EXIST AS AN ATTACHMENT IN OUR MESSAGES????? anyway yeah. the song wasgood
ANON. anon listen to me because i literally had this exaxt same situation with my (now ex) best friend SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL almost two years ago. i also tried and i also accidentally led on and hurt them and they didnt ask me to never speak to them again and actually jsut ignored me all summer instead and likely got all our shared friends (aka most of my friends lol) to do the same so i just didnt bother trying to reconnect once school started again. im also currently on the other end of this kind of as the best friend who took that old best friends place (though we probably wouldve ended up becoming best friends even without that whole mess i hope) broke up with me after a few very good months of dating and a few very bad ones and i asked him not to speak to me for a while but then decided to reconnect with (which judging by the fact that im active on tumblr could be going better).
so yeah now that ive given you my credentials heres what you do you thank him if you havent already and tell him you hope hes doing well and then you put your phone down and go on a walk far far away from it and think about the whole thing. that isnt the best advice because there realyl is no good advice for this situation its one of those things that tears you apart and then points at you and says haha oh YOURE torn apart you say wow what a selfish asshole haha!! but honestly its so clear to me just from this one ask that you care about him so much and im sure he can see that too. if hes texting you he can at least see it a little, and if you would like to do so im sure your friendship is salvagable. the person who put me as the heartbreak emoji in their "people i had feelings for this year" tik tok last december invited me to their house last month and we laughed and joked even though last time i had been there i had been pretending to feel something i could only wish i truly felt. and i dont think theirs an effort more admirable and beautiful than trying to save something like that, than looking the world straight in the eyes and saying "you want me to leave this for dead but i wont because i CARE and that means something." i mean if he wants too of course. which if he sent the text he might thats kind of how i wnet about it when i tried to reconnect too. maybe take this with a grain of salt because im in a highly emotional time in my life but all im going to say is im sorry anon. i know how awful it is to lose a best friend. and im hoping everything goes well for both of you

thank you for tha review. it's really interesting to break the songs down into music and then lyrics. i agree with a lot of what you said: it's nice, but somehow feels like less than what they could've done with the genre and with every track (maybe their producer? mixer? editor? person is to blame). can i ask (i know you didnt get a clear story arc, but) is there a different track order you could recommend? bc i also feel like its a bit all over the place atm <3<3
Anonymous asked: just to clarify: i mean best order for musical progression, ignoring the lyrics and whatever story arc might be going on
Hi there! Thanks so much for your feedback on my review of Keep On Ramblin' -- I was really wondering what people thought! It seems like I have a lot of unpopular opinions about the album, so I'm glad to hear that it resonated with someone.
As for a track reorder, here's what I would recommend (without any consideration of the story):
Keep on Ramblin'
Forever Ain't Long
Return To Me
You Made Me Blue
Right Kind of Trouble
Every Light
Sweet Escape
Velvet Sky
Restless Man
Ain't No Tellin'
Rethinking this track order was actually really hard -- the whole album is the same tone for so long that that it's tough to create any kind of dynamic experience just from what we're given? I'm not totally happy with this but I hope it works for you.
I've added the album in this new order to my Radio Company playlist on Youtube if you want to listen to it this way! My reordered version of Vol. 1 is there too, but no one's ever asked me to re-sequence Vol. 2 so that one is unchanged. Happy listening <3

was tagged by @bungeejumpings to do this and i called in sick to work today so here we goooo
list your top 10 biases and then answer the questions under the cut. try not to look at the questions before making the list
(now i apologize in advance, i dont know that much about most of these people it’s just vibes, i tried not to have more than one person from a group)
1. han jisung
2. lee know
3. momo
4. shuhua
5. solar
6. jooyeon
7. seulgi
8. key
9. kazuha
10. ningning
1. Between 7 and 5, who did you bias first?
oh solar for sure. i didnt really get rv for like a year after i started listening to kpop, but now theyre on track to be one of my most listened to artists 🙈
2. Between 2 and 6, who are you more attached to?
ok this one’s not hard. i am here for skz first always, i cant seem to get away from them. though i am very fond of my little xdinary guys too.
3. If you were to spend the day with either 3 or 1, who would you choose and what would you do?
well i mean i gotta be honest with u i don’t think i’d vibe super well with momo. i love her but we have just diametrically opposed vibes. so jisung, and we’d maybe go to a cafe and chat (i have the feeling he is the kind of young man who will meet me and immediately have a desire to tell me his life story, which happens to me often lol) and then we could go for a walk, pick up some food and plan to watch anime but end up on youtube. he can show me the random shit he watches and i can show him mine and we would both walk away with a random new interest in an almost extinct bug species or the events of a specific day during the fall of the roman republic.
4. What is your favorite physical feature about 9?
shes only 19 so like. don’t misinterpret this but. abs.
5. What is your favorite part of 6's personality?
IDK!!!! he just seems like a sweet boy? and his voice is sooooo amazing.
6. If you were to tell 8 anything you wanted, what would you tell them?
i would ask him to tell me all the gossip he knows. ok no.
mostly i’d tell him that he has made an incredible career, that his artistic vision is so clear and unique and that his perspective is so valuable in kpop and i admire his perseverance and the strength he gives his fans. (i dont know enough about him to be funny abt this so i went sincere)
7. Between 1 and 2, whose closet would you raid?
oh its jisung. he has more fun stuff. though they do share enough and are boring men enough for it not to matter that much.
8. What is a style that you want to see 3 try?
oh i really don’t know. i feel like she embodies that twice cute/sexy/elegant intersection sooo well, the only thing i’d want is to see her personality come through more in their creative concepts.
9. Between 5 and 4, who are you closer to in height?
i was gonna say mamamoo short as hell so probably shuhua but actually it seems she’s short too. so if its official (company mandated) height it’s solar, if it’s real height shuhua. of course that is assuming cube does not lie like rbw.
10. Between 10 and 9, whose music do you like the best?
thats rough too bc i dont listen to many songs from either group. just a few of each. i’m gonna say lesserafim.

Alrightyyyyy, I just watched the 2018 JCS Concert version and its probably my least favorite version of this musical so far and, unless theres another 'official' proshot of it that Im not aware of yet, I have little doubt that this will be my least favorite professional version. Its not bad, theres certainly things to enjoy but theyre mostly smaller details and I dont really think the whole managed to be greater than those smaller parts, yknow?
Something that I enjoyed overall as someone whos watched and analysed three other versions of this musical before watching this one, is that there were a lot of points where I could tell that the people behind this were inspired by previous versions but still trying to put their own spin on it and not directly copy certain ideas, that was fun
The camera work was fine, there were a few shots that felt kinda awkward like one where Pilate or some other character I dont really remember, just stares dead into the camera with such a weird expression, it made me cringe a little, but otherwise I dont have much to say about it. I unfortunately dont have a whole lot to say about the staging or lighting or costumes either when I usually talk a lot about those so Im expecting this post to be on the shorter side just for that lmao. Like with the musical overall, those elements arent bad theyre more just lacking or dont quite come together as a whole. I did really like the set though, that sort of under construction cathedral looks really cool and it fits this more abstract telling of the story. It kinda reminded me of the 2000s version, which was also a lot more abstract than either the 73 or 2012 versions but was bogged down by these weird occasional half-hearted attempts at more modern political commentary, which this 2018 version doesnt have so I think its an improvement in that way. And just to be clear, I dont have an issue with newer versions of JCS trying for more relevant political commentary at all, I think its actually very appropriate, they just didnt do a very good job at it in the 2000s one and it honestly seemed like they were going to have the same issues in this version at the very start but they didnt, so that was good. The direction in the 2000s movie is wayyyyyy better though and I found it more enjoyable overall despite that and despite really disliking the lead actors
Speaking of which, I actually didnt really like most of the performers in this one. Judas started out great, he reminded me a lot of 73!Judas which is high praise from me since thats my favorite version and when I rewatched it I was metaphorically laying on my stomach with my head propped up on my hands kicking my legs back and forth like a middleschooler with a crush whenever he was on screen. Unfortunately I do think he got a bit worse over the course of the show to the point where he was 'just' good, which, hey, thats still not bad at all and pretty enjoyable to watch and listen to but still a bit of a disappointment because I honestly thought he did an amazing job with Heaven On Their Minds and even in Strange Thing, Mystifying (although that song had a bit of a weak start imo) and his part in Everything's Alright so the decline was still pretty noticeable. I did like his body language and the way he characterized Judas though
This Jesus was kind of a funny one because based on his appearance and vibes alone he probably has the most Just Some Guy energy out of all the Jesuses Ive seen which is saying a lot and yknow, I enjoy that. And then he opens his mouth to sing for the first time and its absolutely amazing and Im like WOAHH because his voice instantly makes me Get why people would wanna listen to this guy and follow him and stuff. Like, I think Jesus is a very difficult role because you have to balance coming across as detached from the people around him because hes experiencing stuff they genuinely cant understand with coming across as charismatic enough to make it believable that this cult of personality would form around while not making him come across as too much of a holier-than-thou asshole, and I think casting a pretty unassuming guy with a kind of stiff but fairly unremarkable way of holding himself but whose voice is very powerful wouldve been an excellent way to portray him. Im saying 'would have' because while hes great for his first few lines and has some moments where I think he really shines sprinkled throughout the musical, but overall he just kinda gets worse from song to song imo. Its not even like hes good for the entire first act and then gets weirdly bad in the second one, like the reverse of 2012!Jesus who was pretty weak in the first act but then randomly got really good in the second one, he just gets progressively worse its a real shame. But I still wanna mention those moments where he really shines, spoiler alert theyre mostly when he gets angry; when hes yelling at Judas in Strange Thing, Mystifying, hes pretty good in The Temple, both when hes yelling n shit and when he has that short quiet verse between the two parts and during his parts in Trial Before Pilate. Funnily enough those parts are also all parts I really liked in the 1973 german version and his delivery is very similar to that Jesus but thats just a coincidence lol
I also have a lot of things to say about like, the non-singing parts of his performance but in the interest of not talking about Jesus for too much bc I still have a lot of other stuff to talk about, Im just gonna talk about something I noticed during Simon Zelotes in this. In the other versions Ive watched it was pretty clear that Jesus was uncomfortable during that part and I noticed that he really wasnt in this 2018 one, which I initially found interesting (in a positive way) because I hadnt seen that interpretation before but then I thought about it some more afterwards and I was like, ohhhhhh yeah, theres a reason I havent seen that interpretation before huh. I think him being perfectly comfortable during this scene makes him feel a lot more, idk if this is the right word exactly, thoughtless ? he feels very No Thoughts, Head Empty, is what Im trying to say. And it makes him come across as less complex and kind of undermines a big running theme in this musical which is that no one really understands Jesus because hes mentally ill on a mission from god. Also, Simon Zelotes very much feels like its trying to comment on the hollow nature of praying to a guy whose actual teachings you dont really follow and that really loses its impact when Jesus just like. agrees, basically. On top of that it makes Poor Jerusalem kinda come out of nowhere so that makes for a weird experience
So, since Ive talked about Jesus and Judas individually I also wanted to spare some time to talk about what theyre like together since their relationship is a pretty big focus. I dont have a lot to say about the kiss that I havent already said in my first post about this version, its awkward I hate how the hug thats supposed to happen afterwards comes in weirdly too late, I did not like it. at all. And after I made that initial post I realized that part of the reason it felt so weird and awkward is probably because they have basically no physical contact with each other before (or after) this and like. Theres a lot of physical contact between Mary and Jesus and Mary and Peter and I think there was atleast an attempt from her to reach out to Judas and touch his arm at some point and when you pay attention to the extras theres a lot of touching going on too, especially during the The Last Supper which is yknow, the scene that almost directly procedes the kiss so its like, extra noticeable. And its extra weird because theres a lot more physical contact between Jesus and Judas in other versions and in this one its like they wont even stand too close to each other for some reason.
Anyway, moving on to a character that I usually dont have a lot to say about: Mary. I like her but shes not that complex and while her songs definitely definitely arent bad (bc none of the songs in this show are bad imo) theyre not necessarily songs I would listen to on their own, but again, I like her and I think she usually manages to seem interesting even when the play doesnt really focus on her. So it surprised me that they could make her so bland in this one. Ive thought about this for quite a while now and I still cant quite get a handle on why exactly she comes across like that, but I think its because shes lacking that bit of edge that Mary had in the previous versions Ive watched. Like, in the 1973 movie shes kinda grimy because everyone is kinda grimy (I think 70s movies are just kinda like that) and I remember her voice having a bit of roughness to it and she did come across as a bit cold on my first watch, like, I was obviously expecting her to be a pseudo-love interest for Jesus but thats just because Im aware of certain conventions that dictate that any piece of media needs some kind of romantic subplot, not because she actually came across as romantically interested in him. Then in the 2000s version she was pretty passive agressive towards Judas and they did some stuff to make them more obvious foils of each other and Ive talked about this before, this ended up making Judas come across as really weird and bad there but I do think Mary came out of it as more interesting so that was neat. In the 2012 version I'll admit its mostly just her outfit that makes her come across as interesting to me but idk, I also really like this actress and it was neat to see her do stuff with the rest of the ensemble in the background sometimes and she definitely never came across as generic in the same way that 2018!Mary did.
The most interesting things she did were, in this order: go up to Judas after Jesus yelled at him in Strange Thing, Mystifying and he walked away, her touching everyone and calming them down at the start of Everything's Alright and her sitting down between Jesus and Judas and holding both their hands for a moment before leaving to put a candle on the table at the start of The Last Supper. And one of those things wasnt even really interesting! And honestly, shes essentially the Token Girl Character of this very male-centric play and those almost always play this kind of mediator role, so this doesnt really help in making her feel less generic to me. Also, like, idk if this really makes sense as a complaint but I feel like encapsulates my issues with this Mary and its that, when she was doing I Don't Know How To Love Him and she got to the line "I'm the one who's always been/So calm, so cool, no lovers fool" I was just like "sorry girlie, I dont believe you, youve got massive Lover's Fool vibes" yknow. Moving on
I dont have much to say about Caiaphas, Annas and their goons, they were all pretty good. My main issue with them was that they were oddly quiet during This Jesus Must Die but honestly thats an issue with the entire production. Like, idk if something went wrong or if it was meant to be like this bit I was watching this on my computer with the volume wayyyy louder than I usually have it and it was still really quiet for some reason. The fact that the audience would applaud whenever a song ended or whenever a character entered or reentered the stage didnt help bc its like, most of these songs come one right after the other with nary a break inbetween bc they obviously didnt accomodate for that and it doesnt make for a very pleasant viewing experience. But back to the priests, I wanted to give a special shoutout to that guy that sings the line "A rabbel rousing mission that I think we must ABORT" I think hes great, hes absolutely insane, hes a white boy off the shits and I love him for it
Speaking of off the shits white boys, I also really liked Simon. I dont actually remember what his singing was like or if I thought it was good or not, I just remember him going wild on stage while looking like the older version of a Die Wilden Kerle movie villain (if youre not german or didnt watch those, please google "Die Wilden Kerle Gonzo", "Die Wilden Kerle Fabi" and "Die Wilden Kerle Darkside" to understand this joke) and sometimes thats really all you need. Also, during The Last Supper everyone is being very effectionate with each other and I love that Simon is included in that. Like, hes this horrible little man whos done nothing except advocate for violence and look, hes got a friend who hugs him, hes got a woman who hugs him and hes got a guy friend who comforts him when their spiritual leader/maybe friend? has a mental breakdown and starts yelling at all of them all of a sudden. Love that for him
I didnt like Pilate though. He did a good job I guess, but idk the vibes just werent right with him. Funnily enough I had the exact opposite of that issue with Herod, whose vibes were absolutely impeccable but whose singing was just kinda strange and underwhelming. I did like him going up to the audience during that dance break to be like "Whos your king?" or whatever, thats was neat
Thats it as far as my thoughts on the cast go, it wasnt great but I did really like the ensemble. I dont have too much to say about the individual musical numbers which is why I didnt split this post up the way I did my 2012 JCS post. I dont think they did anything particularly noteworthy or striking with the chereography or the lighting that wasnt done better in other version, the most interesting part was really the fact that there were two 'audience-walls'. What I mean by that is that, usually when you have a stageplay you have your set which has three actual walls and then one non-literal wall that the audience can see the story through, but this one has two, its like a rectangle with two sides missing essentially. But they still dont do too much with that, the staging of certain numbers is a bit more dynamic than it would be on a traditional stage (like Damned For All Time/Blood Money for example) and it seems like the performers have a bit more freedom to move and turn around and whatnot but thats about it.
One thing that I did really enjoy was the use of these white scarves. They show up during Hosanna for the first time and the ensemble members and Jesus all wave them around, they look cool and I like how actually wear them and put them around their heads during Jesus' second verse. Soon after that we get The Temple, which I think couldve been better, especially the first part, but during the beggars part the ensemble is also wearing scarves (I think theyre more of a light gray but its kinda hard to tell with the lighting) and I know its a stretch to say that this is supposed to be some sortof parallel or whatever between the two scenes because theres only so many ways you can wear a scarf but idk, I really like the idea of contrasting these two scenes where Jesus is surrounded by his followers. Im pretty sure the next time they appear its during The Last Supper scene where they all have them around their shoulders and then when they all use them as blankets when they go to sleep at the end, I thought that was really cute. Also, Mary puts a scarf around Judas' shoulders and Im pretty sure its light gray instead of white which could be a nod to The Temple scene earlier but I actually think its meant to kindof tie in to Jesus' outfit. I just realized I havent talked about the costuming at all but Jesus is wearing all white with a light gray jacket over it, so yeah. The next time the white scarves make an appearance is during Pilate And Christ, all the ensemble members wrap them around their chests like some sort of faux toga and then they take them back off for that mini Hosanna reprise and wave them around like they did during the song proper. The last appearance of these scarves is during Judas' Death, they're scattered all over the floor and he picks them up and hangs himself with them. I think I wouldve preferred it if he just kept that scarf Mary gave him and hanged himself with that but at the same time this is really good and interesting too, yknow, hes hanging himself using whats essentially a symbol Jesus-worship while telling god its his fault that hes doing it. good stuff
I was getting close to ending it here but remembering that I forgot to say anything about the costuming earlier caused me to remember all the thoughts I had about it but Ive already spent too much time writing this and Im starting to forget stuff, so here are my basic thoughts about the costuming in a quick bullet point list:
the outfits do an overall better job at actually looking cool and/or punk than they did in either the 2000s or the 2012 version, although i might just feel that way because theyre the most up-to-date fashion-wise
Pilates outfit was really weird and I still dont know what to think about it, I wouldve probably liked it more if they cast a different actor with better vibes
Herods outfit was great, no notes
I didnt like those background dancer outfits, they looked like bird-themed strippers and they wouldve felt more appropriate for the first half of The Tempel (that part was also in desperate need of some dancing, basically all they did there was rub their faces against a table full of glitter for about two minutes)
Judas outfit feels like an upgrade of the one from the 2000s version, he actually looked cool, h wore red and he showed some cleavage!! Not as much as the 73 version but still
JUDAS GOT TO WEAR WHITE AGAINNN well, he got to wear an outfit covered in white rhinestones which really looked more silvef but I dont think Im getting anything better than this at this point so I'll take it
I like that Mary wore orange like in the 1973 version and her dress was very beautiful but the lighting was kept very cool/neutral throughout most of the show so it made her stick out when she wasnt supposed to and it was really distracting
I like that all the ensemble members wear white and gray outfits for the crucifixion again, to tie in to Jesus' outfit
So yeah, Conclusion Time
I'd give this one a solid 6.5/10, for reference I thought both the 1973 movie and the 2000 recording were 7/10s and the 2012 version was an 8/10. Maybe thats a pretty high score for a proshot that I didnt have a lot of kind things to say about but idk, at the end of the day I still had fun listening to and watching a musical I really enjoyed

Okay im actually NOT dome talking about how big this is
Tucker was like, the LYNCHPIN of the conservative radicalization slide! See, radicalization in conservatism depends HEAVILY on propaganda. Radicalization in either direction relies on taking an individual who is unhappy with how they view the world, and giving them an explanation which leads them to demand change in a given direction. But we live in an already VERY conservative country, which means that most people, when they feel dissatisfied with how things are, left to their own devices will go further left, because progressive ideals present the most obvious change. To counter this, conservatism must push some song and dance to pull them right instead; saying that "Oh its not capitalism that is the problem, its all those pesky regulations", or "Oh thats because of woke people", or their most common play since the 80's, rallying you behind a boogeyman. Right now thats trans people. Tell the dissatisfied masses that they COULD live a fair and decent life, but gosh, those pesky [insert marginalized group here] are in the way!! Better get rid of em!! And then you start going to the right instead of the left. Then you propagandize some more, providing talking points to parrot in case anyone dares challenge your hatred of the boogeyman, and pull people to the right more and more, and eventually they believe outright impossible shit like reptilians or demons, and then they push away everyone who disagrees with them, and enclose themselves in an echo chamber of equally radical people. At that point the propaganda writes itself, literally! If this sounds a lot like how cults work, yes, you're right, because it's all based on literal death cults. The nazis believed openly in bizarre prophecies that they were fulfilling, and so too do the evangelical christians in this country.
But I digress. The point is that the entire system on their end is based around giving people bizarre justifications for all their reactionary beliefs until they entrench themselves in those echo chambers. Theres a bunch of stable voices in the mainstream conservative world, and they just talk about how much money you can make with conservative policy and not much else, and thats actually the bulk of what shows on Fox News. And then you have a slide of people who feed you the far-right propaganda, pushing you further into that echo chamber. And Tucker? he was the point guy for this. He was the guy who stood up on mainstream conservative media and showed you all the entry-level far-right ideas and voices, and from there you listen to folks like Alex Jones or Marjorie Taylor-Greene and end up in echo chamber land (aka Gab). But now TUCKER IS NOT THERE ANYMORE. And because of the reason he got kicked off Fox, theres not a single mainstream news source that'll take him! The chain has been SEVERED, and there IS NO MORE CLEAR PATH INTO FAR-RIGHT VIEWS. The only other voice in that space is Joe Rogan, but he's in a position where you have to go elsewhere to listen to him, and he also keeps away from the REALLY risky far-right stuff.
So what happens to those people who are into the mainstream conservatism, now that theres no Tucker? Likely that they become libertarians/ancaps. This is because the type thats there is driven by greed, and once they realize there isnt a surefire way to make money in the conservative world (lol) they will question the system and let their greed guide them into that sorta ideology. We saw a major boom in libertarians around the post-Dubya era because of that same reason, the fascism slide didnt really exist at that time outside of complaints about "illegal aliens" (their most common boogeyman), so everyone just complained that they couldnt get rich and became libertarian. So I predict we'll see a similar boom. And if so, that can only mean one thing: the fascism train is slowing to a halt. (for now. its never gone forever).

annoying guy at work keeps targetting me and bothering me about my music when i play it while we are working in the same room. he doesnt do this with anyone else and will even be like “but x will play the radio!!”
e once again asked me to put the radio on instead of my music, even tho i even made a new playlist that was a mix of CURRENT RADIO HITS that i dont hate--like stuff literally on the top 40 AS WE SPEAK!!!!--oldies hits from the 20th century, and some older pop hits like lady gaga and britney spears.
literally like limited rock (and again only stuff that actually did well) and like one or two indie stuff (which id purposely queue up for when it was just me and harshal in the room lol) and i even told him like ok one.
the radio im using is fuzzy on most FM stations anyways and the stations i do know are either gonna be playing the EXACT SAME MUSIC or be all alt. stuff that he didnt like before (Since before he asked me to change it to pop hits)
. and he tried to spin it as oh he doesnt really care he likes all music (But also doesnt listen to music, apparently) and its all about the people in packaging..... the people in packaging who. where literally. singing along. to a lot of the songs!!!! and were clearly really enjoying it!! hell one of the Quality Assurance guys came in to do paperwork when Helena by MCR was on and he started singing that!!
Like. this dude is CONSTANTLY lying to my face but hes SO bad at it and its annoying. its clear he is the one with the issue but he doesnt want to be confrontational but also he NEEDS me to change it so badly.
I told him that if he wants something--even a goddamn genre or a specific radio station--he can tell me, but just "change it to the radio" is really rude bc it reads as "i would rather listen to anything but this" (even tho again. most of it was. stuff. currently. on. the fucking. radio.) and i was using my spotify bc i dont like listening to ads lol  but whenever i ask him “okay what radio station do you want?” he never has an answer bc again its not about actually listening to something he likes its about making me feel bad and causing me issues over goddamn petty shit.
AND THEN he was also like, as further justification for why the packaging people clearly did not like my music, was that they were talking about classical music at one point.
which ok 1) what fucking radio station is playing mozart?
2) i can tell you exactly WHY they were talking about mozart. it was bc 99 luftballoons and rock me amadeus came on in my playlist (They were both hits in canada/the us and ive heard BOTH on the radio in german here btw). yknow. as in. amadeus mozart? and the connection was mostly bc one of the packaging guys knew a lil german bc he had wanted to learn to play mozarts music. but yknow i actually listen to people when they talk unlike this dude
and its just *grabs him by the neck* shut the fuck up and listen to my music, boy

hi idk if anyone else answered ? or if you actually wanted a run through of the lyrics/one interpretation so feel free to ignore but:
this aint a scene: first phrase is a play on the fact theyre not stealing from you (taking ur trash at night) theyre making you admire (painting gold) subconsciously by listening to them (as you sleep). the crashing bit is like, we're not stuble about it we're crashing - not a disaster kind of crash, like car crash or broken hips, but a fun kind of chaos (crashing a party)
kids arent alright: fall to your knees bring on the rapture is likening this feeling/tragedy/loss to being raptured/the apocolypse. blessed be bit is . idk how to phrase this. people from your past who were Too Much to be contained? like a photograph or a film doesnt do them justice but they're still memorable? (idk tbh this line confuses me haha) . i always fall from your window to me is like i want to be let back into your life but i always fall away from you again and again.
jet pack blues: (ive never been a big fan of this one tbh so i havent listened as much? so my take is gonna b a little more vague). make june feel like september is saying this thing/relationship is instead of making me feel hopeful about our future i feel like the good part (summer) is already over and im looking at the end of smth instead or the start. peace of mind/behind highway lines is just going for a drive to clear your head . city goes silent/get violent is like with no distractions im reminded of the anger/grief/emotions im trying to run from
sorry for any typos or things badly written its 1:30am,,, again this is just how im reading it you might vibe w the songs differently and therefore see completely different feelings in each line. thats the fun of it! hope this helped and if it didnt . pretend this wasnt sent ig haha
no no i dont wanna ignore it its really cool thank you!
