btw Apartment Get did in fact occur. :D
tentative moving date has now been set at may 13th, though ultimately wholly dependent on how long it actually takes to actually pack up & clean & officially conclude all the lease things HERE first (because lol turns out the other housemate who had said he was staying suddenly changed his mind & didn't inform me of this until very recently grumble grumble.)

 ☽ ☼ ☾
As he sat at his gate, he watched the other people. Something about airports had always intrigued him, so many people in their own lives, on their own paths all converging to this one place before jetting off once more.
Lorcan was restless. On the arm of the uncomfortable chair, his fingers tapped out a furious beat. The monotonous drone of the phone line ringing in his ear didn’t help. Pick up. Pick up. Pick up. I miss your voice and I need you to pick up so I don’t lose my fucking–
“What, the fuck , do you want?”
He chuckled, “Good morning to you too, princess.” Inside his chest, his heart fluttered. Fuck, he missed her. He missed both his girls. The minute they’d dropped him off at the airport eight weeks ago, he’d been itching to go home.
“I told you not to call me that.” There wasn’t any bite to her words and Lorcan knew - hoped - that she was wearing that soft, sleepy smile of hers.
He hummed, stretching his long legs out and crossing them at the ankle, “Tell me to stop without smiling and I’ll stop. Easy-peasy, Lochan.”
Elide just muttered a curse in Blackbeak and sighed as if talking to him was some sort of divine torture, “Why are you calling? It’s not even three yet, Lor.” Instantly, remorse flooded through him. He’d forgotten completely about the time difference and told her as much. “Mmm, it’s fine. Did something happen?”
“Nah, I just wanted to say hey before my flight. I’m sorry for waking you up,” he said. Lorcan ran his tongue over his teeth. “I’ve… I miss you two.”
The teasing, light mood dropped a bit. Lorcan could hear her breathing slowly and then she answered, her voice weaker than normal, “I know, Lor.” Her swallow was audible. “We miss you too.” Before he could respond, before he could offer her any sort of fleeting comfort, Elide spoke again, “Hold on one second, ok?”
She was gone before he could respond. Lorcan could hear something rustling, like someone slipping out of a bed. He froze, hardly daring to breathe. She wouldn’t- Elide and Lorcan both knew better than to have someone over when they had the kid with them.
There was soft murmuring he couldn’t quite make out and the unmistakable whine of their daughter. Lorcan slumped down in relief, cursing himself for this… jealousy. It wasn’t fair. “Hello?” snapped Stella Luna.
He chuckled, delighted by his child’s greeting, “Hey, Tiny.”
She gasped and that innocent sound, filled with childlike wonder and elation, soothed his aching heart. “Daddy?”
“Hi, Stella. I’m sorry I woke you up so early, I wanted to say hey before I get on the plane,” Lorcan explained with a smile. Thinking about Elide that summer had been painful enough, knowing he was so far from her, but it was nothing compared to the agony of missing his daughter.
“Are you coming home today? ‘Cause I got kindergarten tomorrow, Daddy. Mama said you would take me,” Stella said.
“Yes, I’m coming home today. I’ll take you to school tomorrow, ok?”
“Ok, Daddy. I’ve been very busy, you know. Yesterday we went shopping and at Mintage, mama found me a Wednesday Addams lunch box,” Stella regaled, her words dripping with wonder and awe. “I’m so excited ‘acause I love Wednesday Addams, Daddy, did you know? We watched it last night at Fenny’s house ‘acause he let me choose. He said he was sick of the Addams family and that’s why I called him a dummy.”
He laughed, pausing for a moment to listen to the PA. “Passengers boarding Flight 1203 to Varese, please make your way to gate C49. Passengers in zone one, please line up at the boarding desk.”
“What was that? It sounded funny, Daddy, like a robot,” Stella said.
“My plane’s getting ready to take off, Stel, they want everyone to come to the gate,” Lorcan explained. “How was Fen’s?”
“Oh,” she started, “it was very good, Daddy. After the movie, he taked me to his show an’ I wanted to bring Salem but it’s too loud for him so I sat with Essar and she got me a juice box when I was thirsty. I think it was a secret ‘acause they only give them to me. It was grape which is my favourite, but I didn’t want to finish all of it so Vee drinked it after his show. Then Fenny and me and Con and Vee went to Grampy’s and I fell asleep so Fenny took me home.”
“Passengers in zone two, please line up at the front desk.”
Lorcan checked his boarding pass, “Kid, I have to get on my plane now, ok?”
“Ok,” Stella replied, a little sadly. “I miss you.”
The corners of his lips turned down. Lorcan hung his head, opening and closing his mouth a few times as he tried to think of what he could say to comfort his child. Eventually, he said, “I know, Stella Luna. I miss you too. I promise - once I’m home, no more tours, ok? I love you.”
“Love you too, Daddy,” she chirped, already his happy, bubbly little baby again. “Bye-bye!”
“Bye, Tiny. Put your mother on for me,” Lorcan said, laughing through the sentence. He could hear Stella Luna hand the phone over to Elide.
“Yes , you can sleep now,” Elide said with a kiss smacked on Stella’s head. “Lor, you still there?”
“Yeah, ‘m here. I have to get on the plane now.”
“Ok. Do you want us to pick you up from the airport?”
Though it pained him to say it and further delay their reunion, Lorcan said, “No, don’t bother. I’ll be tired and I’ll probably just crash when I get home. I’ll see you tomorrow, though.”
“Can’t wait, Salvaterre.”
He smiled a small smile, one that was only ever for Elide, “Me neither, Lochan.”
 ☽ ☼ ☾
He woke up somewhere high above the Cambrian Mountains. For a few moments, Lorcan stared out the small window, groggy and confused.
It took him a second to remember what was happening and why he was on a plane. When he finally did recall, Lorcan pulled his laptop out of his camera bag and placed it on the desk. The band he’d been working with over the summer had bought him a seat in business class for both his flights home.
Lorcan shifted in his seat and absentmindedly toyed with the curved barbell that pierced the delicate skin connecting his upper lip to his gum as he waited for his computer to turn on. He leaned down, searching through his bag for the USB that carried every shot he’d taken in concert that summer.
He found it and sat up straight. A small smile pulled at the corners of his mouth as he saw the background of his laptop. He hadn’t changed it in the three years since the photo of Elide tattooing Stella’s name in Ozuye on the outside of his right thumb while he held a sleeping Stella Luna to his chest with his free arm had been taken. The tattoo was his favourite, though it probably tied for first place with the cartoon-inspired Wednesday Addams on his inner left wrist.
The placement of both designs had been purposeful, so when he was shooting something, he could see them clearly and think about his daughter. He had never met anyone who loved the Addams family more than Stella.
Lorcan put his headphones on and played a playlist at random. Pink + White played as he opened Photoshop and uploaded a file he hadn’t even looked at yet. The photos weren’t needed for another month, but he would rather get them done now so he could focus on the upcoming studio show.
He still hadn’t decided what or who his subject would be. Maybe he would take a break from concerts and focus on something else.
For the rest of the flight, he worked to distract himself from the fact that he’d be seeing Elide again. It hardly made any difference, his mind on her like always. Lorcan had been in love with Elide for… forever. He finally realised it, though, a couple weeks before she had their daughter.
He had wanted… he had wanted a family with her. A real one, where Stella wouldn’t be perpetually split between two homes, but Elide hadn’t wanted that and Lorcan respected her wishes. Maybe it was foolish, but six years seemed like long enough to be pining for someone.
As Lorcan got lost in the thoughts he spent most of his waking hours repressing, a hissing voice that sounded suspiciously like his mother snapped, Elide Lochan is not ‘someone’ and she is certainly not someone you get over. Ever. Stupid boy.
His lips twisted with a rueful smile, though the memory of his mother ached and stung. Lorcan swallowed past the painful tightening of his throat and saved what he was working on, electing to watch something he’d downloaded on Netflix until they’d landed in Varese.
The air in Varese was balmy and he couldn’t stand it. Lorcan was seconds away from trying to peel his skin off. He had always hated the heat, but this steaming humidity was his hell.
When his zone was called to board the flight, Lorcan could hardly keep the grin from his face. The thought of seeing his family, no matter how it hurt him to know Stella would come home with him tomorrow and Elide would stay in her apartment, was a joy nothing else had ever replicated.
His heart seemed to beat a frantic timpani, each pat-pat saying, wait for me, wait for me, wait for me .
 ☽ ☼ ☾
There was a crick in her neck. Elide muttered a curse with her eyes shut and reached out to her bedside table, only to feel nothing and hear an innocently delighted giggle.
She smiled and kept her eyes closed. Slowly, Elide reached out, “I wonder who could be laughing right now. And where could they be!”
There was that little laugh again, though Elide knew her child was doing her absolute best to stay silent. She heard Salem’s meow of protest and Stella’s sweet shushing.
Staying silent had never been Stella’s strong suit. Elide continued on, now patting the blankets. “Hmm, I do wonder if they could be hiding beneath these blankets!” As she said ‘blankets’, Elide opened her eyes and ripped the covers away. A quick blur of orange and black flashed past as Stella’s fluffy cat was freed and Salem bounded away.
Stella Luna’s shrieking laughter filled the room, gloomy from the rain that poured steadily against the large, paned windows. Elide laughed too as she grabbed her daughter and pulled her into her lap, her fingers digging into the soft part between Stella’s ribcage and hip bone. Stella squirmed away, begging her to stop, “No, please, mama, it tickles!”
Elide chuckled softly and relented, choosing instead to gather Stella up in a long hug. “Oh, good morning, little one. How did you sleep, hmm?” She pulled back and brushed her hand through Stella’s hair.
“Um, I slept good, mama, but I’m really hungry now, so I would like to have breakfast.”
“We can do that. What do you want to eat?”
Stella flicked her eyes up to the ceiling. Though her shape was Elide’s ethereal monolid, the colour of rich browns and deep blacks was all Lorcan. “Pancakes, mama. Can we make them look like bats?”
Elide snorted and nodded, “Of course we can. Why don’t you go wash your hands and we can make them, ok?”
The four-year old was off before she could even say yes, hurriedly careening into the bathroom. Her mother laughed again, but the care-free sound bled into a pained groan as she stood up and stretched. Elide really needed to stop crashing in her daughter’s bed.
Stella hollered back from the toilet, “Mama, can we have chocolate chips in the pancakes?”
Elide smiled as she walked through Stella’s room. On the floor, one of Stella’s toys obstructed her path and Elide jammed her toe into a wooden box. She gritted her teeth against the pain and asked, “Will you clean your room today?”
“Uhhh,” Stella contemplated, “I guess. I dunno why , mama, I don’t care if it’s messy, why do you care?”
“Because your room is messy and you might hurt yourself if you don’t know where something is,” Elide replied steadily. As she pulled on a pair of shorts, she heard little feet race into the kitchen. Elide twisted her hair up and clamped it into place with a hair clip. When she padded into the kitchen, Stella Luna was standing obediently on her stool, her hands clasped like a perfect little child. Elide hooted at the sight, “Oh, you little demon.”
Stella grinned proudly at the nickname and pushed her wild hair back with both hands. She sighed in annoyance, “Mama, help please. It’s too much.”
“Of course, witchling,” Elide said. Stella clambered up onto the counter to sit patiently. Elide hummed something soft as she parted her daughter’s hair and weaved two simple pigtails. As she braided, Salem gracefully leapt onto the counter and made himself comfortable in the fruit bowl, resting his chin on his crossed paws like a proper gent. “Better?”
“Yeah,” Stella chirped as she climbed down and ran to the pantry. She flung the door open, “Mama, is Daddy coming home today?”
“He is. Remember, he called last night, baby,” Elide replied as she pulled out eggs and milk from the fridge.
“Oh, I thought that was a dream ,” explained Stella. She lugged over the large container of flour, carrying it with both arms and almost tipped over. She decided to put it on the floor and push it to the counter. “I wanna play music!”
Elide laughed as she picked the flour up and began measuring out the dry ingredients, “Go for it, Stella.” She watched in delight as Stella ran to the record player and sat on the floor in front of it to peruse the stack of records.
A couple moments later, Stella had decided and put the vinyl on. She pranced back over to her stool as music played. “Mama, can I crack a egg, please?”
When I met you in the restaurant, you could tell I was no debutante
“Yes, ma’am,” Elide passed her an egg, “Be careful, you remember what to do, right?”
“Yup!” Stella delicately cracked the egg on the side of the liquid measuring cup and used her thumbs to open it. The yolk and egg white plopped perfectly into the milk and vanilla. She picked up the whisk and mixed it all up.
Dreaming, dreaming is free
Stella was soon bored and trailed over to the living room. She sat down and started to dance with her frog stuffie, singing along, “I don’t want to live on charity, pleasure’s real or is it fantasy…” Elide grinned at the sight and found the silicone mold in the top drawer.
A few minutes later, Elide slid a stack of bat wing pancakes onto a plate. “Stella? Food’s ready.”
“Ok, mama,” Stella said. She skipped to the table and climbed onto her chair. “Can I have maple syrup too?”
Elide had already grabbed the bottle and grabbed a pair of forks drying in the dish rack. She put the plate down and sat, passing Stella her fork. Stella doused the pancakes in maple syrup and attacked viciously, stuffing an entire pancake into her mouth. Elide laughed loudly, “Baby, eat your food properly. C’mon, you know better.”
Stella grinned around the sticky-sweet mess and chewed thoroughly before swallowing. Elide took the plate and cut the food up into bite-sized pieces before passing it back. The four-year old abandoned her fork in favour of her wee hands and stuffed as many chocolatey-mapley-buttery pieces as she could into her mouth.
“Good gods, child,” her mother said. “You’ll choke.” Delight surged through her at the sound of Stella’s gleeful laughter, albeit muffled. She grabbed a napkin and reached out, holding her daughter’s chin hostage as she wiped the mess away. “I am so happy your father is coming back, he’ll finally take you off my hands, you gremlin.”
Stella gasped loudly and wrenched her chin free, “Mama, can we go to the airplane place? I want to surprise Daddy. Pretty please?”
She made her eyes big and wide, sticking her bottom lip out. Elide cracked immediately, “I think he’d like that, wouldn’t he?” Stella nodded with such vigour Elide half-thought her head would fly off. “We’ll do that later, Stel. Why don’t you finish your breakfast?”
Stella needed no further prompting.
 ☽ ☼ ☾
His bag was the second bag out. Lorcan easily slung the black duffel over his shoulder. He made his way out of the baggage claim and around fellow passengers numbly awaiting their belongings.
Lorcan thought about pausing, his fingers twitching to grab his camera and freeze the moment. There was something slightly surreal about it all. A voice told him to stop, to do it, but the sweet, pure voice of his baby calling him home was louder.
He was still listening to miss star’s jamzzz and clicked the ball of the piercing in his tongue against his teeth to the beats. I’m Not A Loser by the Descendents’ played at maximum volume as he strode across the scuffed and dingy linoleum.
Vaguely, he thought he might’ve heard someone calling for him. Pausing, Lorcan half-pulled a headphone off his ear. He looked around, narrowing his eyes in confusion at the sea of strangers.
“Daddy!”
“Kid?”
A wee one shot out through the passing crowd. Her hair, jet black and thick, curled out of her assumedly once-tight and neat braids. Her eyes were thin and dark, so rich and depthless, framed by long lashes. The little lass seemed to have a piece of the sun setting her warm, coppery complexion aglow from beneath. “ *Até , hi-hi!”
Stella launched herself up and Lorcan dropped his bag to catch her. He held her tight to his chest, one hand cupping the back of her head. “Tiny, Creator above. I missed you so much, my darling moon.”
“Hi, Daddy,” Stella whispered, her arms tightly wrapped around his neck. “It’s nice to see you.”
Lorcan laughed raspily at her formal greeting, “Wow, so fancy, miss Star. ‘It’s nice to see you’, really? You’re killing me, Tiny.”
She giggled, shaking her head as she pulled back, “No, I’m not fancy, Daddy. I’m tough ,” she snarled, baring her teeth intimidatingly.
Lorcan laughed again, his head tipping back, “The toughest .”
Stella beamed and abruptly stopped, an outraged gasp escaping her. She grabbed his face and pulled his head back down. When she felt his stubble, Stella Luna pulled a face, “Daddy, you have to shave. It’s scratchy.”
“What, I thought I looked nice like this, babe,” he said, shifting her to his side. “It’s that bad?”
She stared at him for a while before slowly shaking her head, “No… it’s ok, Daddy. Mama likes it like that.” Stella laid her head on his shoulder. Lorcan smiled and held her tightly again, his eyes closed.
For a long moment, neither said a word, until Stella became restless and started peering out around her. “There’s so many people, Daddy.”
“There is,” he agreed. Lorcan brushed something from her cheek and Stella batted his hand away. “So, you learn to drive while I was away, or something?”
“No! I’m still little , Daddy,” Stella Luna corrected him with a giggle. “Mama drived me.” She pointed vaguely towards the entrance, “Mama’s over there and she said, ‘Stella, hold my hand and stay close ‘till we see your dad, ok?’ but you’re so tall and I sawed your head so I ran and didn’t listen to Mama.” Gasping softly, Stella put her hands over her mouth, “Oh no. Mama! Mama, hello? I am here,” she curled her arm over his shoulder as she craned her head to look around. “Where she go?”
Lorcan looked around as well, loving and hating the way his pulse sped up at the prospect of seeing her . “I don’t know where your ma is, maybe she- oh,” Lorcan cut himself off as he saw a familiar flash of long black hair through the crowd. “There she is.”
Through the throngs of passengers and travelers, Lorcan saw a fair skinned, petite woman. Her hair was dark, streaked with purple, and fell to her hips. She left it be in its natural waves, but had it cut into a blunt, pointed fringe that framed her heart-shaped face. Her round, plush lips were painted deep, nearly black, red. They curled into a teasing grin, “Hey, Salvaterre, I see you’ve finally decided to rejoin the rabble! Was the tour too preppy for you, what with all the first class flights and champagne?”
He laughed and reached out to flick her nose, “Shut your mouth, Lochan. I’m common folk for life.” Elide laughed and Lorcan smiled, “Fuck, I can’t believe that you two came to pick me up.” He pulled Elide into a hug, something finally settling inside him as he held his girls for the first time in two months.
“No, no swearing, Daddy,” Stella chastised him, her frown disapproving, “Fuck is a bad word. A very bad word and we’re only allowed to say it when we listen to music.”
Elide laughed and slipped her arm around his waist, “A wretched word, really. It’s like you want our daughter to become a menace to society.”
“Oh, really? And what if our daughter wants to be a menace to society?”
Stella Luna nodded, sticking her chin out, “Yeah, what if I want to be a menace to society, mama?”
Elide shook her head at the two of them and narrowed her eyes at him, “This is your doing, you know, Lorcan.” Oh… how his heart stopped as his name tumbled from her lips. Lorcan struggled to breathe for a moment and Elide’s warm grin faltered. “Lor? You alright?”
“Y-yeah, just jet-lag,” he said quickly. Lorcan averted his eyes from Elide’s concerned gaze. Stella Luna wiggled, whining slightly. When she was set down on her feet, she grabbed Lorcan’s hand in one of hers and Elide’s in the other.
“Let’s go!” she shouted, tugging them along with all her might. At fifteen kilos and a solid one-hundred centimetres, it wasn’t much, but her determination made up for it. Over her head, Elide shot Lorcan a smile and a wink.
Lorcan rolled his eyes and chuckled. Stella skipped and hopped along to Elide’s car. Lorcan tossed his duffel in the trunk as Elide helped Stella into her booster seat and he walked over to the passenger seat. “Daddy,” Stella said, “did you know my birthday is in two months? That means I’m gonna be five whole years.”
“Wow, you’re going to be so old ,” he said dramatically, smiling in the rearview mirror when Stelle’s jaw dropped open and her eyes widened.
“I don’t want to be old. Old people are yucky. Like you and mom.” Elide and Lorcan looked at each other and burst into gutsy laughter at their daughter’s words. Stella sniffed primly and turned her face to the side, “It’s not funny to be old. Being old means you die. Do you want to die, Daddy?”
“If I die, I become a ghost and I’ll haunt people,” he said.
“Would you haunt me ?” the girl asked, her eyes filled with morbid curiosity.
Elide huffed a laugh. She turned the car on and smoothly pulled out of her parking spot to the freeway that would take them back to Orynth. “You two are ridiculous. Stella, baby, no one’s haunting you.”
“Yeah, except for me,” Lorcan ever-so-helpfully stated.
As Elide exclaimed in annoyance, Stella giggled uncontrollably. The dark haired woman couldn’t help but laugh along and the sound of their laughter soothed the dull ache of missing them.
☽ ☼ ☾
“ Até, ‘m tired,” said Stella, trailing up to Lorcan. She was all ready for bed, dressed in her Jack Skellington pyjamas. Her dinner of tomato soup and grilled cheese had been devoured an hour ago. Lorcan was in Elide’s kitchen, washing the dishes as Elide worked on a sketch and Stella checked her backpack over and over and over again. She was not going to be caught unprepared for her first day of kindergarten.
He rinsed off the iron skillet and placed it in the dish rack. Lorcan dried his hands and turned to his daughter, who held her hands up expectantly. With a fond smile, Lorcan scooped her up and asked, “Time for bed? Did you brush your teeth yet?”
“Mm-hmm,” she nodded and dropped her head onto his shoulder. “Daddy, don’t forgot Mr. Ribbit.” Stella said softly, already falling asleep. She clutched at his shoulders, a yawn splitting her little face in half.
His grin softened and he kissed the top of her head, “Can’t forget your frog, now, can we?” There came a low chuckle from the living room. Elide walked over to them, her pencil stuck in her hair and carrying the fuzzy green animal. She passed the animal to Stella and pressed a kiss to her cheek. Lorcan offered her his hand, “Come with us?”
Elide nodded and slipped her hand in his. They walked to Stella's room together. She breathed evenly and deeply, her eyes closed. Her lashes brushed the tops of her rosy cheeks. Lorcan set her down with care and tucked her blankets around her. “Good night, my darling moon,” he said softly - in his native tongue - and brushed her hair back before it could tickle the tip of her button nose.
“Night-night,” Stella whispered, her eyes cracking open. “Are you gonna come drive me with mama tomorrow to school?” She snuggled into her pile of pillows and held her blanket up for Salem to settle in beside her. The cat curled up against her and purred softly as he flicked his fluffy tail over her protectively.
“Yes, I am.”
She nodded, “Good. That’s good, Daddy.”
“Alright, Tiny,” he laughed softly, “go to sleep, yeah? You’ve had a big day.” He kissed her forehead and stood up to let Elide say good night.
Elide sat down on the edge of the mattress and cupped Stella’s face in her hand, her words soft and too low for Lorcan to hear. She too chuckled and kissed Stella Luna’s cheek, then got up and stepped over to Lorcan.
They closed the door and silently walked back to the living room. Lorcan sat down on the couch and rubbed his eyes. Elide curled up in the opposite corner and smiled, “Tired?”
“Yeah,” he said, dropping his head back against the couch. “Fuck me, I have to go home.”
“Why don’t you just stay here tonight? You’ll have to come back tomorrow anyway,” Elide said, her voice measured.
Lorcan looked at her, but her face was turned to the side. “Are you sure, El? I honestly don’t mind and I haven’t been to my place in a while.”
She glanced over at him, “No, c’mon, it’s fine. It’s not like we’ve never done it.”
“Done what?”
Elide shot him a flat look, “Slept in the same bed.”
Lorcan choked and his eyes widened, “El- what? I was just going to take the–”
“I swear to Anneith if you say ‘couch’, I’ll strangle you. I’m not making you sleep on my couch when you’ve been gone all summer.” Elide stood up and walked to her bedroom, her hips swinging enticingly. Lorcan quickly looked away. “Besides, my bed is big. I promise I won’t give you my cooties.”
He snapped his teeth and crossed the room to join her. “Fine. I’ll stay.”
Elide crossed her arms over her chest and smiled cockily, “I knew you would.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Lorcan said, pulling her into his arms. Her body melted into his. They fit perfectly together. They always had. “You’re always right, aren’t you, princess?”
Elide hid her smile and slipped her arms around his waist, her cheek pressed above his heart. For a long moment, neither said a word. Then, Elide pressed her forehead against him and whispered. She couldn’t speak any louder, fearing that the tears she’d held back for years would finally spill over. “It’s nice to have you home, Lor.”
“It’s nice to be home,” he murmured, gently rubbing her back.
“It wasn’t the same without you.” It’s never the same without you.
He closed his eyes, hating the tears that blurred his vision. “Wasn’t the same without you, either, Lochan.”

Lights, Camera, Coffee in LA
Ok, this is my absolute first time posting a story I’ve written and I am anxious as hell about it lol. Please be kind!
Summary: Elena “Lena” is off to LA for the summer to visit her brother. Her summer gets off to a great start when she ends up sat next to none other than Chris Evans on the plane. (I suck at summaries!) Thank you SO much to @denisemarieangelina for reading and providing feedback, and a WAY better title than I’d managed to think of! You’re AMAZING!
Characters: Chris Evans x OFC Elena
Word count: 4921
Warnings: None... absolute fluff
Tumblr media
“I’m boarding the plane now, Mikey,” I gasped, out of breath from running through the airport.
“Oversleep again, Lena?” He asked laughing on the other end.
“Actually, my Uber was late and then we hit traffic on the freeway, thank you very much!” I said, indignantly, making my way down the gangway and onto the plane.
“Ok, well safe flight, I’ll see you in a few hours.” he responded, “Love you, Sis!”
“Love you too, Mikey! Can’t wait to see you!” I was excited to see my big brother. He’d moved out to L.A. when I was 12 years old to pursue a career in acting. He’d made a name for himself on a soap opera, but had decided he preferred being behind the camera instead of in front of it.
I quickly located my seat and stowed my carry-on in the overhead compartment before dropping into the seat by the window. One perk of having Michael book my tickets was an upgrade to first class.
I had just finished another year teaching 2nd grade and was looking forward to spending time in California with my big brother. Due to budget cuts, we had ended up with overcrowded classrooms this past year (meaning I’d had a class of 30 second graders as opposed to the normal 20 I was used to!). Needless to say, I was exhausted and needed a break.
“Can I get you something to drink before we take off ma’am?” a flight attendant asked me, smiling.
“Do you have any tea?” I asked, smiling back at her, I hadn’t had time to stop for caffeine on my way to the airport and wasn’t firing on all cylinders yet. “Or at this point, I’d drink week-old coffee resembling mud.”
“We can’t have you drinking mud, I’d be happy to get you some tea” She replied laughing, “Any milk, sugar, or honey?”
“Just plain, please!” I replied, “You’re seriously a life-saver!”
“All part of my job title!” She said before collecting the pre-flight drink orders from other passengers settling into their seats.
“A fellow caffeine addict, huh?” A smooth, deep voice sounded next to me. It appeared as though my seat neighbor had arrived.
“Not even ashamed to admit to that! “In all fairness though, it is before 8 in the morning, and a Monday no less.” I smiled up at the newcomer, and almost swallowed my tongue in the process.
Chris freaking Evans was standing less than a foot away, placing his bag in the overhead compartment. He had on a gray Henley with the sleeves pushed up, jeans, and a NASA hat pulled down to help disguise his identity.  Pull it together Lena, do NOT fangirl on the poor guy!
“Both fair points!” He said taking his seat and turning slightly towards me. Even with the added room in first class, he was still insanely close to me. I could smell his cologne or aftershave, which didn’t help my already overloaded senses.  “I’m Chris, by the way.”
“Elena” I replied, smiling, “Everyone just calls me Lena though.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Lena” He replied with a smile of his own. Ugh, his azure blue eyes were seriously going to be my downfall. “What has you headed to L.A?”
“My brother lives there. I’m just going to visit for the summer. “A much-needed break from reality.” I replied, impressed that my inner fangirl wasn’t showing through...at least I hoped it wasn’t noticeable to Chris.
“I can definitely understand the need for a break.” He said, “The whole summer, huh? Must be a teacher?”
“Very good deduction skills!” I said laughing
“My older sister is a teacher as well, it was an easy deduction to make” He smirked, winking at me. “What do you teach?”
“I’m a second-grade teacher, although there are days I’d say ‘kitten wrangler’ would be a better job title.” I replied honestly. “Especially this past school year.”
“An entire room full of, what… 8-year-olds?” His eyes widened, “That’d be like a room full of my nephews… yeah, you need a break!”
“Yeah, 7 and 8-year-olds… 30 of them to be exact.” I replied, “I’m a kitten-wrangling ninja, what’s your superpower?”
He threw his head back at that and laughed, his left hand coming up to grab his chest. I smiled like an idiot at the fact that I was able to make him laugh hard enough to get the left boob grab.
“Super-human strength, quick healing abilities, and I look damn good for 100!” He replied, cheekily.
“Your tea Ma’am” the flight attendant interrupted, bringing my much-needed drink.
“Thank you so much!” I replied, taking the steaming cup.
“Can I get you anything, Mr. Evans?” she asked Chris, batting her eyelashes at him. I turned my head away to quickly stifle the snicker that was bubbling up.
“I’m good for now, thanks though.” He replied, then turning back towards me.
“Get that often, Mr. Evans. Or do you prefer Captain?” I asked as the flight attendant walked away.
“So, you do know who I am. I wasn’t too sure if you did or didn’t know.” He replied, laughing nervously.
“Yeah, figured that one out as soon as I looked up.” I replied gently, “But, honestly, I get that constant public adoration can get old, so I kept the fangirling to a minimum.”
“Fangirling, huh?” He asked, his smile getting bigger. “So, you’re a fan?”
“I may or may not be team Cap” I replied, my inner nerd shining through.  “I’m also team Thor though, so…”
“I’ll take it!” He replied laughing, “You said team Cap first, so that’s all I’m hearing.”
It was my turn to throw my head back laughing at his child-like response. It was nice to see the playful side of Chris, the true person that he is not the actor everyone knows.
“Welcome aboard flight 723 with non-stop service to LAX.” One of the flight attendants announced, “We will be pushing back and getting underway here in the next few minutes. At this time, we ask that you make sure that your seatbelts are fastened and return any seats and trays to the upright position. We are right on time, and should be landing at LAX at approximately 9:55 am local time.”
“Ugh, this is my least favorite part of flying. I wish I could just click my heels and arrive wherever I want to be.” I admitted to him in a nervous manner.
“Not a fan of flying?” He asked sympathetically, looking over at me.
“In general, flying is fine” I responded, trying to keep my breathing normal, “It’s taken off and landings I’m not exactly fond of.”
“Did you have a bad experience?” He asked out of curiosity.
“Nope” I replied, “But the way I see it, if something goes wrong at either takeoff or landing, you’re close enough to the ground still where chances are it’s going to hurt. When you’re in the air, you’re high enough up where if you crash, you’re just dead and won’t know how much the pain sucks.”
Chris was momentarily speechless as he processed my theory. I’m sure the theory is flawed but hey, fears are generally irrational right?
“Wow” he said finally, “I can’t say I’ve ever thought of it that way before.”
“I’ve never actually put that into words before, and I will admit that it does sound absurd.” I replied, “It sounded much less insane in my head.”
“No, not insane.” He quickly reassured me, “Probably has some validity to it...somewhere.”
“You’re way too nice!” I replied smiling, “Let’s pretend I didn’t disclose that information, and you don’t know the level of my nerdiness.”
“We’ve all got some nerdiness in us,” he replied with a flirty smile, “But I have to admit that the nerdiness is pretty damn adorable on you.”
I could feel my face heating up at the compliment. Holy shit, Chris Evans just called me adorable. My inner fangirl was screaming.
Before I was able to form a response, the plane started moving away from the gate. I could feel anxiety starting to boil in my gut. I gripped the armrest of my seat, knuckles turning white.
“Hey” Chris said softly, pulling my attention away from the window, “Keep breathing, Lena” His
right hand reached over and gently engulfed my hand in his own. I took a deep breath and forced myself to relax.
“I promise I’m not normally such a spaz.” I said apologetically, looking at him.
“None of that,” He said smiling, “We all have things that make us anxious. No judgement here.”
“So, are you heading back to L.A. for work or is that your home base?” I asked, trying to focus on something else.
“A little of both actually.” He replied, “I’m meeting with a director about a film I’m really interested in doing, but I do have a house in L.A. that I spend a lot of time at. Home though… that’s always Boston. Where is home for you?”
“I live in Providence, but I grew up in Newport.” I replied, “With the exception of my brother, the rest of my family is all still in Rhode Island.”
“Another New Englander!” He said smiling broadly, “It’s not Boston, but… you’re in the right region!”
“The only time I’m ever in Boston is when I’m catching a flight.” I admitted, “I always tell myself I’m going to drive up and spend some time there especially Salem, but something always comes up.”
“What!?” He exclaimed, “There is so much more to Boston than the AIRPORT!”
I laughed at the shock and dismay displayed on his face and in his voice.
“I’ll make a point to get there before I go back to work this fall.” I laughed, crossing my heart like the second graders I taught often did.
“I’ll hold you to that” He said, attempting to give me a stern look...but failing, as the laughter in his eyes gave him away. “What are you planning on doing while in L.A. this summer?”
“My brother actually lives in Malibu, so I will be spending as much time at the beach as possible.” I was very excited to spend time in the Pacific Ocean, surfing and hopefully diving at some point. The Atlantic was great, but definitely much colder. “I will also be buying an annual pass to Disneyland so I can go as often as I want and get my Disney fix. Once will definitely not be enough.”
“You’re a Disney fan too?” Chris asked, eyes growing wide, “You’re perfect you know that?”
“Far from it, I assure you.” I laughed, “Just ask my brothers.”
“Are you a Patriot’s fan?” he asked, turning his whole body towards me now. “Because seriously, if you are, I’m marrying you as soon as we get off this plane.”
I laughed and tucked a stray piece of brown hair back behind my ear nervously.
“I’m not really into football…” I replied smiling, “I’m more of a soccer fan. I enjoy baseball too.”
“I can accept that” He replied smiling widely, “I don’t know much about soccer, but what’s your favorite baseball team?”
“The Red Sox.” I replied, “My dad is a huge Sox fan, as are all my brothers. Mikey tries to play like he’s a Dodger fan now that he lives in L.A, but honestly that’s just to mess with my dad.”
“I was right, Lena.” Chris said teasingly, “You're legitimately perfect.”
“Even if I’m not a football fan?” I laughed. Butterflies were swarming in my belly for a whole new reason now. My fear of taking off, long forgotten. I glanced quickly out the window to realize we were in the air. Chris had kept me occupied to ease my anxiety during takeoff.  “Well played, Evans.” I said, looking back over at him. He shrugged and gave me a boyish smile.
“Sometimes it helps to keep the mind busy when you’re anxious so that you aren’t focused on what is causing the anxiety.” He replied, seemingly from experience.
“Thank you” I replied simply. I wasn’t sure what else to say.
“So, what’s your favorite ride at Disney?” He asked, changing topics.
“Is it acceptable to say that I love them all?” I asked him hopefully. Seriously, how do you choose just one ride?
“Nope. You got to pick one,” he said, shaking his head, “No cop out answers.”
“Ok, well I adore Space Mountain, but I also love The Matterhorn. The Haunted Mansion though is also a favorite…” I replied, “Best I can do is Top 3 favorites.”
“Fair enough, I suppose,” He conceded, “Good choices too. You went with the classics.”
“What are your favorite rides?” I asked, “And no ‘cop out’ answers either.”
“Space Mountain.” He said without hesitation. “That’s the one I could ride all day.”
“Favorite Disney movie?” I asked him.
“Of all time? Dumbo” he replied, “But I honestly love all the Classic Disney movies, and the newer ones too. What’s yours?”
“All-time favorite… Pinocchio.” I replied thoughtfully. “I adore Jiminy Cricket. But I also wore out two copies of the Oliver and Company movie.”
“I love Oliver and Company!” He exclaimed, “My dog, Dodger, is named after the Dodger in that movie!”
“It’s a great movie.” I agreed, “Where’s Dodger now?”
“He’s back in Boston with my mom and sister.” he said, a sad smile on his face. It was obvious he loved his dog. I’d read and watched interviews with him, whenever asked about his dog he lit up like a kid at Christmas.
“Are you going to be in L.A for a long time?” I asked
“Depends on my meeting with the director, I guess.” He replied, “If it goes well, I’ll bring Dodge out and we’ll stay out here until filming ends. I don’t have anything else on the schedule at the moment. Just finished my contract with Marvel.”
“It’s got to be a good feeling to have the freedom to just relax and pick what you want to work on.” I said, “I won’t lie though, I’m heartbroken you won’t be Captain American anymore.”
“It was hard to walk away after the last day on set, but it was definitely time. I was burning out.” he said honestly, “I feel like I went out on the right note though.”
“I’ll admit that I literally ugly cried in the theater during Endgame.” I confided in him, “Complete with crocodile tears, blotchy eyes...the whole nine yards. You broke my heart into a million tiny pieces.”
“But it’s not like Cap died!” he reasoned, “He just finally got the chance to live out the life he wanted!”
“Although that part did make me teary, the part that broke me was watching Cap get his heart broken when Natasha and Tony died.” I explained, “The scene where you’re sitting there and the tears are falling… ugh.”
“If it helps, it was extremely difficult for us all to make it through that film.” He said, “We were all emotionally attached to the characters.”
“That does make me feel better, thanks.” I replied.
The rest of the flight was spent talking about anything and everything. I was so caught up in the
conversation that I never even heard them announce we were beginning our descent into L.A., so when the plane touched down and started to taxi up to the terminal gate, I was shocked.
“Again, well played Mr. Evans” I laughed looking back over to Chris. “Thank you”
“I really enjoyed this flight, Lena.” He said smiling, “I’m actually kind of sad we’ve landed.”
“I can honestly say, this is the best flight I’ve ever had.” I admitted, a blush spreading over my neck and face. “I wouldn’t have been sad if it had been longer.”
The plane had taxied into the designated gate and came to a stop. Around us people were rushing to gather up their belongings.
“As crazy as this sounds, I’d really like to see you again.” Chris said, looking anxious for the first time since he’d introduced himself. It was as though he doubted, you’d want to see him again, which made absolutely zero sense!
“It doesn’t sound crazy, Chris” I reassured him softly. “I would like to see you again too.”
“Put your number in my phone and then I’ll text you so you have mine.” He said handing me his phone.
I quickly typed my number into his phone before handing it back to him. He finished saving the contact info and then sent a text to me. I heard my phone’s notification ping, alerting me to a new message. It was if the ping of my phone set off a swarm of butterflies in my belly. The anxiety from earlier in the flight was back, but for a whole new reason.
I opened up the message from Chris and quickly saved his contact info. Chris grabbed his bag down out of the overhead compartment then grabbed mine down and handed it over to me.
“I’m assuming since you’re here for a while, you’ve got more luggage checked” He laughed,
“Either that, or you travel extremely light.”
“Honestly, I probably over packed” I laughed, rolling my eyes at myself. “I never know what I’ll need or want when traveling so I just throw it all into the luggage and go with it.”
“That’s one way to do it, I suppose.” He winked at me, “If you don’t mind, I’ll walk with you that way.  I’m getting picked up at arrivals anyway.”
“I don’t mind at all.” I replied, “My brother is supposed to be picking me up. I’m guessing he’ll be at arrivals too.”
We walked towards baggage claim, making our way through the large crowds at LAX. I noticed
Chris kept hat down low over his eyes, doing his best to blend in and not be recognized. He stayed close to me, trying to avoid being separated.
We arrived at baggage claim right as the bags were starting to appear on the conveyor belt.
Luckily, my bag came around quickly. I grabbed it off the belt and turned around, almost running straight into Chris. I hadn’t realized he was so close.
“Sorry!” he said, a boyish grin on his face, as he steadied me, “I didn’t want to lose you in the crowd.”
“No worries” I said breathily, enjoying the close proximity to him. “I think this is the fastest my bag has ever gotten off the plane. Thankfully, it wasn’t lost this time!”
“That’s happened before?” His eyebrows shot up in shock, “That must have sucked!”
“It did” I agreed, “I was in Germany too, which made it even worse. I was with a student group and we weren’t staying in one spot, so it was quite the production getting my stuff to me!”
“Well at least had it happened here, you’d have been stationary” He laughed, “How long did it take to get reunited with your luggage?”
“It took 3 days for it to catch up with us.” I said, “Thankfully, I had enough in my carry on that I was able to survive the separation.”
“LENA!” I heard a familiar voice yell. I quickly looked up and around for the source of the voice to find my sister in law, holding a neon green sign with my name in pink sparkles. I laughed, shaking my head at her.
“Talia!” I giggled heading over to her and hugging her. I adored my sister in law, in fact, she was probably my favorite. “Was the sign necessary?”
“Of course, it was!” she replied laughing, “I’d hate to be accused of being basic!”
“Extra… yes” I laughed, “Never basic.”
“I see you’ve made a friend already” She said, glancing over to where Chris was standing, his eyes dancing with laughter at the exchange.
“Talia, this is Chris.” I said making the introduction. I figured she had already figured out exactly who he was. “Chris, my sister in law, Talia.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you Chris” She said smiling brightly. Talia is also a huge Marvel fan, but she’s more team Iron Man/ RDJ. Being married to my brother, she was used to being around celebrities and has perfected the art of remaining cool. I had a feeling I needed to take a page from her book this summer if I was going to survive in my brother’s world.
“It’s nice to meet you too, Talia.” Chris responded warmly.
“Ok, let’s get out of here!” Talia exclaimed, “Michael gave me strict orders to bring you straight to him before going to the house. I think he missed his baby sister.”
“I’ve definitely missed him too” I said, excited to see him.
We all headed out of the airport and into the balmy California weather. I smiled looking around at the palm trees and feeling thesunshine beat on my face. It was going to be a great summer!
Straight ahead of us was a pick up line filled with limos, black SUVs, and sedans along with their drivers holding signs with the people they were looking for.
“There’s my ride,” Chris said, seeing his name in the line. He wrapped me in a quick hug before pulling back and smiling. “I’ll text you later Lena and we can make plans to get together.”
“Sounds great!” I beamed, trying to remember how to breathe. Chris Evans just hugged me!
Talia and I quickly made our way across the pickup lanes and headed towards the parking garage attached to the airport.
“Already making friends with Hollywood Heartthrobs before even landing in L.A., huh?” Talia joked as I threw my luggage into the back of her black Land Rover.
“He’s super sweet, Lia!” I gushed, “He kept me occupied the entire flight, especially during takeoff and landing, so I wouldn’t freak out. We talked about everything, and he never made me feel like a major dork.”
“Michael has mentioned several times that he’s very down to earth and a genuinely nice person.” She revealed, “He’s actually meeting with Chris this week about a part in the film he’s directing.”
“Ohmygod!” I exclaimed, “THAT’S the movie he was talking about? He said he was in town to meet with a director but never said what the film was or which director. What is the flipping’ odds he’d be meeting with my brother?”
“Hollywood is actually not that big” Talia said laughing, “Everyone is essentially connected to someone through a mutual friend. Not that shocking he’d know Michael. I’m guessing Chris didn’t put it together?”
“My last name never came up honestly” I replied, “Well, I guess this means I’m guaranteed to see him again!”
Being that it was past rush hour, it didn’t take too long to get from the airport to the studio lot where Michael was preparing for his next film. Talia found a parking spot close to a large building that I assumed contained a sound stage.
“Alright, he’s inside meeting with a few set designers. He said to come straight in when we got
here.” Talia said getting out of the vehicle.
We walked into the building, which currently looks like a cross between an airplane hangar and a warehouse.
“There’s my Little-Bit!” Michael said jogging over towards us. He quickly scooped me up into a hug, lifting me off the ground and spinning me around. “I’ve missed your kiddo!”
“I’ve missed you too, Mikey!” I said laughing, “I hate that we live on opposite sides of the country now!”
“I know, Kiddo.” He said setting me back on my feet and taking a step back, “You know, there are plenty of schools out here you can teach at.”
“Don’t tempt me!” I joked, “We just had one of the worst winters in over a decade this year… the temptation to leave it all behind is strong.”
“I know you probably want to get settled and freshen up from your trip, but I couldn’t wait to see you” He said, “I have a few more meetings but should be out of here by early afternoon, so we can make plans to go out somewhere for dinner tonight.”
“Perfect, I am in desperate need of shower and clean clothes.” I replied, “Other than that, my social calendar is wide open.”
“For now, at least.” Talia teased, bumping into me and smirking. “I doubt it stays that way.”
“Yeah, I’m totally on the prowl to fill my calendar” I rolled my eyes, trying to play her comment off so Michael wouldn’t ask questions.
“That’ll be hard to do if you spend all summer at Disney, Little-Bit.” Michael teased, “Although, I hear Goofy is still single.”
“Oh wow, all have jokes today.” I laughed, turning towards Talia “On that note, I’m ready to leave now.”
“OK, you’re chariot awaits milady!” She responded, “I’ll see you at home, baby.”
“Drive safe, stay out of trouble.” He said, “Love you both.”
________________________________
I woke the next morning to my cell phone alerting me to a new message. I sat up and grabbed my phone. I was shocked that I’d managed to sleep past nine. I leaned back against the queen-sized headboard and opened up my text messages.
C: 7:35AM Hey Lena, I’ve got a meeting this morning about that project I mentioned but would
really love to see get together later if you’re available. Maybe get some coffee, or another beverage?
C: 8:00 AM Ok, that sounded really lame. Let me try again. Lena, would you like to go out for a drink later?
L: 9:04 AM Hi! Sorry, I just woke up! You didn’t sound lame at all. I’d love to get coffee...or another beverage with you later! I don’t think I have anything going on today. Let me track down my brother to make sure he didn’t plan anything.
I pushed the covers back and got out of bed, my bare feet sinking into the plush carpet in the guest bedroom I was staying in. I pulled my long brown hair up into a messy knot on top of my head, deciding to deal with it later, and headed downstairs in search of Michael or Talia to see what the plans for the day were.
Once I reached the bottom of the stairs, I could hear voices on the back patio that overlooked the beach. I detoured to the kitchen first to grab a bottle of water from the fridge before heading out to the patio.
I opened the French doors and stepped out onto the cool bricks, before stopping dead in my tracks like a deer caught in headlights.
“Morning, Little Bit!” Michael said cheerfully, oblivious to my panic. “This is Chris, I’m trying to recruit him for my current project.”
“We actually met on the plane yesterday,” Chris said, winking at me with a smirk, “Morning, Lena. Love your shirt.”
I quickly glanced down, forgetting what I was wearing, and realized I still had on my old Red Sox tank and a pair or navy-blue sleep shorts.
“Thanks” I laughed nervously, “Good Morning.”
“Grab a seat Lena and join us for breakfast” Michael offered, “Lia had to meet with a client this morning, but will be back later.”
I sat down, next to Michael, which put me directly across from where Chris was sitting. I grabbed some grapes from the fruit bowl and placed them on the plate in front of me. Michael passed a platter of bacon and toast, so I added some of that to my plate as well.
“Lia made sure to make some of the bacon extra crispy for you too” Michael said shaking his
head, “although by that point it’s like eating straight bacon bits.”
“I’ll only eat it when it’s crispy because I can’t stand the idea that I’m gnawing on pig fat.” I replied, sticking my tongue out at him. “You’re lucky I’m even eating pork again.”
“There was a time you didn’t eat pork?” Chris asked, his eyebrow cocked.
“I had to dissect a pig in my honors biology class sophomore year.” I replied, “my lab partner was a little over zealous, and after a week of picking at a pig carcass, I couldn’t bring myself to eat pork anymore.”
“She wouldn’t eat any meat for about a month.” Michael added smiling at me.
“What made you decide to start eating meat again?” Chris asked curiously.
“I missed cheeseburgers” I shrugged, “Being a vegetarian wasn’t working for me, so I decided to be a porketarian instead.”
Chris laughed, shaking his head, “How long did you go without eating pork?”
“I just started eating it again about a year ago.” I admitted. “So, about 20 years.”
“That’s a long time.” he said looking shocked, “What made you decide to eat it again?”
“She missed bacon” Michael replied.
“Pretty much” I agreed. “I missed BLTs… and turkey bacon wasn’t the same.”
“Fair enough” Chris said.
“So, what’s on your agenda today Mickey?” I asked my brother, steering the conversation away from me.
“I have a couple of meetings at the studio but I should be wrapped up by late afternoon, I was planning on grabbing steaks on the way home so we can throw them on the grill tonight.” He replied, “What are your plans for today?”
“I was thinking of going to grab coffee, or a beverage of some kind today” I smirked at Chris.

Think you would do another part to the missing for a year ask
Missing For A Year… (II)
What originally was supposed to be a day of remembrance and comfort to those who had mourned the ‘death’ of the two leaders of (R)WBY and (J)NPR, quickly became a revelation of confusion and shock. For after almost a year after their supposed passing, Ruby and Jaune returned to Beacon at the day of their own memorial with more than a few surprises. Many of the friends family felt relief that their friends/children/sibling while others had.....unique reactions.
Glynda: For the love of-I JUST HAD THIS SCHOOL FIXED! (Starts to repair the damages done to the door) Mr. Pine would you be so kind as to bring back Miss Schnee and...the newly announced parents. Preferably before she tears the courtyard apart.
Oscar: I’ll try but I can’t make any guarantees.
Glynda: Understandable. Now hurry!
Oscar starts to sprint after them in order to calm matters before they escalate. Meanwhile, the remaining friends of Ruby and Jaune take in the new situation.
Blake: Are they going to be ok? Weiss seems pretty mad.
Neptune: Yeah she’s fine, the two of them... well not so much.
Sun: By the way, how’re you doing babe? I mean we just did get a major truth bomb dropped on us.
Blake: I’m really not sure what I’m feeling. Shock, elation, grief, betrayal.....it’s a mixed bag at the moment.
Sun: Hey take whatever time you need. In the meantime, want to go see the new babies!
Blake: .....Sure. I think that’ll be nice.
Neptune: Also should we get Ren? He’s been still as a statue for a good minute or two. I think he’s also forgotten how to breathe.
Ren: godchildren...godchildren...I’m a godfather...
Sun: Ok buddy come on let’s go. *Grabs him like a cardboard cutout*
Meanwhile....
Ruby: ‘Huff! Huff! Huff!’ I think we lost her
Jaune: *Kneeled over in exhaustion* Man, here I thought we were gonna be having a nice reunion with everyone. Not to run in our own funeral.
Ruby: Technically it was a memorial.
Jaune: Haha. Oh yeah like that’s way better.
Ruby: Look, let’s just see if we can talk to her. She seems pretty upset about it all. Can’t imagine what she’s going through. I mean we basically were proclaimed dead by everyone then to suddenly just stumble back into their lives unannounced and without warning.
Jaune: Yeah that would put her in a questionable state of grief.
Ruby: I wish we could make it up to her you know.
Weiss: Maybe you can by accepting your punishment... *Peeking over the bush they were hiding in*
Slowly the couple turned their heads backwards to see their assailant right behind them. Nervous expressions written on their faces due to the unnervingly calm the SDC heiress/huntress was being.
Ruby: Weiss...hey, how are you?
Weiss: Good...heard you’re married now...and with children.
Ruby: Y-Yeah. Had a really busy year.
Weiss: Oh I had a busy year too. By busy I meant that I spent most of the past year in grief over the death of two of my dearest friends.
Ruby: Oh...that sounds terrible.
Weiss: It was...but do you want to know what’s worse than grieving over the dead?
Jaune: What’s that?
Weiss: Finding our that all your grief was wasted on two absolute morons who didn’t even know the proper way to send a letter to their grieving friends. But who also managed to start up a new life entirely ignorant of the pain their absence caused others. But you want to know the bright side?
Ruby/Jaune: .....what’s the bright-
From a birds eye view, newly installed cameras recorded the sudden appearance of a massive snowy explosion in Beacon’s courtyard. The sound of the sudden explosion alerted the attention of the deputy assistant to the headmistress, as he saw a large amount of snow built up seemingly out of nowhere.
Oscar: Oh no...Welp! At least I know where they are. *Starts running*
It takes Oscar about five minutes to get to the epicenter of the explosion as he had to walk through all the snow built up from the explosion. There he finds Weiss holding onto a supply bag and a rather large ice cube.
Oscar: Weiss, did you have to do this in the courtyard?
Weiss: Yup.
Oscar: ‘Sigh’ Honestly I don’t blame you. By the way where’s Ruby and Jaune?
Weiss: Close by. *Uses Myrtenaster to spin the ice cube to reveal everything but the faces of the couple encased in the block of ice*
Ruby: *Teeth chattering* H-H-hey Oscar... how’s it...ha-hanging?
Oscar: I’m good.....are they ok?
Weiss: Oh don’t mind them they’re completely fine. This is just the punishment they are going to endure being stuck in one place for the remainder of the day. Right? *Glares at the two leaders*
Jaune: *teeth chattering* Y-y-yeah! To-Totally...no problems here! R-R-Right Ruby?
Ruby: *teeth chattering* Y-Y-Yep! Totally... peachy!
Oscar: Somehow I don’t believe...
Weiss: Oh you worry too much. They’re not going to get hypothermia from being in there. There Aura will protect their body temperature and the worst they can get from this is a cold.
Oscar: How kind of you.
Weiss: Do you want to go in the cube?
Oscar: *puts hands up in surrender* No! I’m good! I’m completely ok with being outside the cube.
Weiss: Good! Now come along you too, a LOT of people probably wish to see you right now. Weiss then uses her summoning glyph to bring out the Arma Gigas, who takes block of ice and carries it for her. With Oscar by her side the two begin to walk back to the main auditorium of Beacon.
Glynda: There you are Miss Schnee, did you manage to reconcile with- Why do you have a giant ice cube?
Weiss: Yes. I did in fact reconcile with my leader and her...husband. And for why I have this ice cube, see for yourself.
The Arma Gigas leaned down so that Goodwitch could see the couple’s faces.
Glynda: .....So I see. Well in any case, a lot of the Xiao-Long and Arc Families are eager to see these two. So would you mind if you could-?
Weiss: Of course.
Weiss’ summoning places the ice cube down and pushes it inside, causing the block to slide against the floor until it’s in the middle of the room.
Ruby: H-H-Hey everyone!
Taiyang: Ruby! *Runs over everyone in his path to get to her* My precious little bud! I-I can’t believe you’re here and alive! .....I...I thought I lost you too. *Hugs the cube*
Ruby: O-Oh Dad....I’m s-so s-s-sorry! I would h-hug you if-f-f my arms we-weren’t f-frozen.
Taiyang: It’s ok sweetie...you’re being here is all I need.
????: JAUNE MILES ARC!
Jaune: O-oh Crud...
A middle aged blonde woman marches over to the ice cube, with a frying pan in hand. Her eyes seemed to project fire despite having no magic.
Jaune: M-M-Mom! H-H-Hold on a s-s-second! I c-can exp-plain!
Mrs. Arc: Young man.....you...*drops the pan*
Jaune: Huh? *Face gets cradled*
Mrs. Arc: My baby...my baby boy.....*sobbing*
Jaune: M-M-Mom..... *Gets tarry eyed* I-I’m sorry for making you g-g-go through that.
Mrs. Arc: Oh Jaune...you have nothing to be sorry about my little blessing. You’re here now.
Nora: Awww! What a wonderful family reunion!
The others began to gather around the cube to ask their questions about where the two leaders have been this entire time, and the couple did their best to answer the many asked questions. Weiss even lessened the temperature of the ices o that they could say complete sentences without the cold stuttering.
Blake: Where happened to you two when you two defeated Salem?
Ruby: Well do you remember how she used her magic to bring the temple up to the atmosphere? Well when it was descending we saw that it was heading straight to the face of a mountain so luckily, both of us clung to a straying falling fragment in time while Jaune amplified our auras to withstand the impact of landing.
Jaune: Still has a bit to spare to heal us enough so that I could carry us to a nearby village. It was a fairly new settlement that probably was uncharted on most maps at the time.
Ren: Which means we wouldn’t have been able to find the village...
Jaune: Bingo!
Yang: *Holding Summer in her arms still, while the baby was contently playing with her hair* What happened to you afterwards?
Ruby: Well after Salem’s defeat, Jaune and I decided that we both wanted to take a little bit of a break from huntsmen work, so we decided to do some traveling. We already confessed to each other after the first month and got our marriage license in the second month at a court house. By that time we had gone from Mistral to Vacuo. But at the time of the third month.....I started to get sick, a lot. Didn’t take us long to go to a doctor to see why and to both our surprise I was a couple weeks along in my pregnancy.
Jaune: So we put exploring the world on hold and settled down in a local down in Southern Vale.
Weiss: How did you keep you’re presence under the radar for so long?
Ruby: Honestly we didn’t even know people were looking for us since Salem’s defeat so we just dressed like normal citizens and kept our hunting gear in our briefcases.
Weiss: Of course you did. *Face palm*
Nora: Welp looks like everything worked out in the end! All’s well that ends well!
Jaune: Um...Nora. Where’s Rowan?
Nora: Huh?
Jaune: The baby you were holding before we ran off you were holding onto him and now you’re not.
Nora: I’m not! *Looks all around herself, but finds nothing* .....Uh oh.
Jaune: .....Nora, you were watching him did you give him to somebody else?
Nora: I don’t think so!
Ruby: What! Nora did you lose my baby!
Nora: Ren did I give him to you?!
Ren: No I haven’t even gotten to hold him. *slightly disappointed*
Nora: Uuuuuhhh no, oh gods. *starts to hyperventilate* I don’t know what I did with him! I LOST THE BABY!
????: Ahem!
Nora and the others look to the source of the voice and there they see Whitley looking upwards.
Whitley: I think I found your missing baby. *Points Up*
Everyone looks up and to the parents surprise/horror, Rowan had somehow climbed up to the ceiling and was crawling on one of the ceiling beams.
Rowan: *Cute Baby Noises and waves at them*
Ruby/Nora: AAAAAAAAAAHHH!!
Nora: Don’t worry baby I’ll save you!
Weiss: Whitley! Why didn’t you tell us this sooner?!
Whitley: *Still looking up* He was doing fine climbing up there by himself so I wanted to wait and see if he could climb down.
Nora: *Up on the beams, slow to approach the infant* Hey there baby Rowan! Hi sweetie~ Listen why don’t you come over here to Auntie Nora. Come on~
Rowan: *Baby noises and crawls the opposite way*
Nora: Wait. No Rowan! You’re going the wrong way! Over HERE! Towards ME!
Rowan: *Baby noises but looks down to see the giant ice cube.* Aaaaaah! Ma! Ba!
Nora: Yes you want to go see mommy and daddy right? So just come over to me and I’ll take you to them. Ok sweetie!
Rowan: Hehehehe! *Falls over the edge*
Nora: NO! *Trues to catch him but fails*
Ruby/Jaune: ROWAN!!
Rowan falls down from the ceiling and just before he gets close to the ground his descent is slowed down before it stops completely leaving him completely suspended in midair. Then he is levitated over to his savior, Miss Goodwitch.
Glynda: Young man. I should let you know that playing in the ceiling is no place for a child to play.
Rowan: ..... *blows raspberries then laughs*
Glynda: *Smiles* You’re very lucky you’re not one of my students. Not yet anyway. Miss Rose, I believe this is belongs to you. *Levitates the baby over to Taiyang, who was standing right by her*
Ruby: Oh! My sweet baby boy, I’m so glad you’re safe!
Rowan: *cute baby noises* Ma!
Everyone: Awww.
Nora: AAAH! *Falls to the ground* .....I’m ok! Ow!
-End of Part 2-
Hope you guys like this second addition to the Missing for a Year post I made a month ago. Stay safe and I’ll talk to you all later!

Boku no Hero Academia roleplay (ft KiriMido, BakuAshiMyself and Vanessa Masters)
@bbb35 shared a picture of Bakugo sleeping with a bunny Izuku plush, and we kind of went on a roleplay tangent xD I was being myself, but as though I was in the BnHA universe (Quirk; Green Flame), while Vanessa Masters was B’s character :) Yes, there are a lot, but if you find them interesting, you can have fun reading them :’)
----------------------------
Vanessa: shows picture of Bakugo asleep with bunny Izuku “Black mail material”
Me: takes a copy “Gonna use this on him later” evil grin
Bakugo: "SHUT UP!! DEKU AND I CUDDLED AS KIDS, IT HELPS ME SLEEP, HE GAVE ME IT!~ SHUT UP!!"
Me: “Digging yourself a hole man” snickering
Kaminari: "Pffft, he's so precious!"
Jiro: "Almost as precious as Midoriya... I don't know how to handle this..."
Me: uncontrollable laughter
Bakugo: "FUCK YOU!"
----------------------- Time Skip --------------------------
Midoriya walks through the common room carrying Kirishima bridal style
Vanessa:  “Love strong Deku. And yet, he’s not afraid to get thrown onto a bed, and ravished until he can't sit.”
Me: fans face “I just pictured it. OH BOY! KIRI BE GENTLE WITH THE LAD!!”
Kirishima: "I'll try, but he makes me so Rock hard" Deku kicks foot into Kirishima's laughing face to keep him at bay
Midoriya: "NO PUNS IN BED!!"
Me: “I'll let you ah, do your stuff” winks and leaves, then bumps into Bakugo at the door “What are you doing here Kacchan??”
Bakugo: "NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU DEMON BITCH!"
Me: “Awww, do you want Izuku to sleep in your bed so you can cuddle?! SO CUTE!!!” hugs him, purely to make him embarrassed
Bakugo: "FUCK YOU!!!"
Vanessa: "Why Bakugo, I didn't know you felt that way, but you should court her before any fucking and cuddling, or just plain cuddle."
Me: “alnfergbreln oh my God! Vanessa please, I seriously doubt-” turns to Baku and sees him blushing ”...Well shit.. I think I need to have a talk with Mina...”
Vanessa: "I mean, he can't jerk off. Cause his hands will cause explosions, so he must be hard."
Me: chokes on spit
Bakugo: "OI! I CAN TOO JERK OFF! ... THAT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS WITCH!"
Me: blushing “I didn't picture anything, I swear!”
Bakugo: blushing too "At least I know why you hang out with Kaminari now..."
Me: “WHA?!”
Bakugo: "FUCKING PERVERT!"
Me: "SAID THE GUY WHO ADMITS TO JERKING OFF!!"
Vanessa: "Come now, must you two be as loud as one of Bakugo's explosions, or him after rubbing one out."
Hagakure: passing by in a towel, which obviously looks like it's floating "You just enjoy watching the world burn, don't you?"
Vanessa: "Meh, more like a garbage can fire with these two, but no less haunting."
Me: small, green fire actually sprouts to life atop my head as my cheeks burn red “This is NOT how I thought this conversation would go...”
Bakugo: "I NEVER WANTED THIS CONVERSATION! YOU COULD HAVE JUST WALKED PAST BUT NOOO, YOU HAD TO ASK WHY I WAS HERE!"
Me: “IT WAS TOO TEMPTING TO TEASE YOU!”
Bakugo: "AND LOOK WHERE IT GOT US!"
Hagakure: "Us?"
Bakugo and myself: blushing intensifies, as does the flame on my head
Ashido: "Oh, why is Saz blushing so hard?? Bakubro too!? ... GASP! DO I HAVE A BOYFRIEND TOO NOW?!"
Bakugo and myself: spin to look at her in shock "WHA?!"
Hagakure: “I don’t think it’s calming down anytime soon.”
Vanessa: "It never does with me involved."
Bakugo: "I accuse you, Witch! I say we take you to Salem, they know how to handle your kind there!"
Me: Smacks Bakugo, cutting him off and causing him to growl "That's horrible! And offense to Vanessa, and the innocent NOT witches who were killed!”
Ashido: "Don't hit my boyfriend, if we're sharing him, I demand you treat him nicely!" hugging Bakugo close, rubbing her boobs against his forearm
Me: “But Mina, he said something REALLY offensive!”
Ashido: "Oh, right, ok then!" slaps him too
Bakugo: "FUCK OFF!"
MIna: gets an idea and slaps Bakugo's chest, using her acid to burn the cloth off his chest, leaving him shirtless
Bakugo: "WHAT THE HELL!?!?"
Me: “Well... Kacchan, your room's not too far right?”
Bakugo: "Wha?! YOU'RE NOT COMING INTO MY ROOM! AND STOP CALLING ME THAT!"
Me: “Oh? Would you prefer something else? grins at Ashido, who grins back
Ashido and myself: "Can we go to your room, Hero-Kun~?"
Bakugo: blushing "... no..."
Me: grinning “Almost”
----------------------------- Time Skip -------------------------------
Ashido sneaks into Bakugo's room, smiling fondly at the pink alien plush and green lizard plush sat neatly by his pillow. Then she climbs into his bed and in his sleep he spoons her, not realizing what he's doing till the next morning when he opens his eyes and sees her black eyes.
Ashido: "Hello, Hero-kun~."
Bakugo: blushing fiercely
Me: “Aww, you two are cute. Shame class starts in twenty minutes.” stood watching with a smirk
Bakugo: "THE HELL!?" sits up, realizes he sleeps in his boxers, and grabs stuff green rabbit to cover his bare chest
Me: “You sure you want to cover that part champ?” raises brow, smirk still present
Ashido: giggling
Bakugo: "LISTEN!!" He puts hands on his hips, exposing his pecs. Only to cover his chest again "I DON'T NEED YOU SUCCUBUS’ CREEPING INTO MY BED WHILE I'M ASLEEP!!"
Me: raises hand “Hey, I never did that. I was in my room the entire night” whispers “was too busy writing to even think about sleeping beside yous and that makes me sad” normal voice “so don't start with me.
Ashido: "It's true! I was the only one! I feel special~"
Me: dramatically gloomy
Ashido: "Oh.."
Bakugo: "......Gaaaaaaaawwwwd...." Bakugo throws aside stuffed toy, and opens arms out "You get ONE big, long hug, and then you’re out and you NEVER tell a living soul."
Me: dives in “HECK YES!” snuggling “Also, no promises babe” winks
Bakugo: Lets out a startled laugh as I nuzzle his chest
---------------------------- Time Skip ------------------------------
*At All Might's apartment* (I said it was long XD)
Bakugo: "What's this?"
Midoriya: "A candy dish."
Bakugo: "Well, where's the candy?"
Midoriya: "There is none, All Might can't eat candy anymore."
Bakugo: "Then why have a candy dish?"
Vanessa: "He doesn't have to have candy, for a man with money a dish can stand on it's own."
Me: “Could he not like, put fruit in it or something? Just a dish seems a tad redundant.”
Vanessa: “Like I said, a dish can stand on it's own. And despite all the medical bills, All Might has a lot of money. He made 100 grand in gift baskets in one month.”
Me:  “Damn son. Jeez, if I had that much money, I'd feel like it'd be a waste not to give to charities and stuff, ya know?”
Vanessa: “Oh he does, but he's been putting it away too in savings to donate it all to charity. But when he met Midoriya, he's left it to him and his mother in his will.“
Me: “Awww, that's adorable! Hey Katsuki, what would you do with all that money?”
Bakugo: "Isn't that obvious? I'd make sure my fucking wives have a secure, well off future then fucking throw it at some kid charities or something."
Me: .....
Ashido: ....
Me: “Did you hear that Mina?”
Ashido: "You bet I did!"
Ashido and myself: "HE'S SO COOL!"
Me: “Wait, did he say... wives?” blush
------------------------ Time Skip --------------------------
Ashido: holding up her skirt to show her panties “So you’ll buy me fancy lingerie, Bak-Kun~?”
Me: blushing “Oof”
Bakugo: sent flying from the force of his nosebleed
Me: pointing at him“Same, honestly”
Ashido: "You think I might be too bold?"
Vanessa: "This is Bakugo, if he can't take the bluntness that he throws at others, then this is gonna blow up bigger then a explosion from his own hands."
Me: “His nosebleed explosion was pretty big too. Think he can use that against enemies?”
Bakugo: blushing and stuffing tissue in his nose "SHUT THE FUCK UP! IT'S NOT LIKE YOU WERE ANY BETTER!"
Me: “HEY! I DID NOT NOSEBLEED! I was close, but I DID NOT EXPLODE NASALLY WITH BLOOD!”
Vanessa: "But that would mean Ashido would have to expose her breasts to Bakugo at random times."
Ashido: "I'm fine with that, I grew up like this. I've learned to have self-esteem for my body, and no shame."
Me: “That attitude will kill us babe.”
Vanessa: “Or make Bakugo a veeeeeeery happy husband.”
Me: “I mean, it would, but blood loss would be imminent.”
Bakugo: "Are you implying I couldn't restrain my blood, and can't stare at Mina's breasts without gushing blood!"
Me: “Did you not see what just happened Katsuki? Oh wait, you were launched across the room, you probably hit your head and forgot.”
------------------------ Time Skip -------------------------
Me: finds a picture of Katsuki and Ashido holding and smiling at each other “I’m gonna use that as my lock screen.” sets
Bakugo: "That's fucking cheesy"
Ashido: "I think it'd cute! Let me get one of you two!!"
Me: “Ah, but I'm not very nice to-”
Bakugo: "Fucking fine! But I get one with you two... for fairness."
Ashido: "Aww, babe~ You want us as your lock screen??"
Bakugo: blushing "Shut up and take the picture already"
Me: heavily blushing while hugging Bakugo for the picture
------------------------- Time Skip ---------------------------
Vanessa (with a shape shifting quirk): "We can dig a moat around the school, I can be..." morphs into crocodile "THE CROCODILE!! Jazz-hands!" crocodile jazz hands
Aizawa: "No..."
Vanessa: "Why not?"
Aizawa: "You say you'll be the crocodile, but you never commit!"
Me: “Hey Sensei, if we're building a moat, can we take it one step further and put random torches along the corridors? I can even light them for you.” smiles
Aizawa: "Then we'd think we were in Tokoyami's bedroom and everyone would be confused."
Me: “I know, it’d be great.”
Vanessa: laughing

Fallout OC - Guile - Complete Character Sheet & Info
The creepy part about this OC, was I got the idea for him from a dream, that I ended up turning into the short story of how he is introduced.
"I've seen a lot of crazy cases in my day, but this one takes the cake..." - Nick Valentine
CASE: The Broker
Word's going around that there's a new player in town. Someone going around offering to right the wrongs of people's past... for a price. Dubbed "The Broker", I thought they were a mercenary for hire, taking on hits for people, but apparently their "services" are more than just a euphemism. Some say that this stranger can mess around with reality itself.
Usually I wouldn't put much stock into such wild stories, but the growing number of sightings make it seem like their might be a bit of truth to them. Doesn't hurt that each sketch artist drawing from witness accounts pegs the same guy. Although they haven't caused any real trouble that anyone knows of, yet, better to play it safe than sorry, and keep an eye out for this one.
DESCRIPTION
Human male, typically seen wearing a nice black suit and vest, with white dress shirt underneath. Short, slicked back, black hair and a five o'clock shadow. Always seen with a pristine gold pocket watch.

This is where things take a real turn for the weird...
Some witnesses claim that "The Broker" isn't really human, that they're some kind of monster out of a bad nightmare. They assume a human form, as to not scare off potential clients. One witness even went as far as to claim that his skin was as black as tar, covered in countless different mouths, tendrils coming out of their body. Granted, that testimony came from a local junkie that's usually higher than the cost of real estate in the Upper Stands.
HOLOTAPE 1
Nick Valentine: Alright, now just repeat what you've already told me about this "Broker" character.
Anthony: I was on my way to visit Goody, in Salem, when I found myself surrounded by this... darkness. Couldn't see even a few feet in front of my face. That's when he appeared, trying to offer me a deal.
Nick Valentine: What kind of deal, exactly?
Anthony: Somehow he knew about my past, all of it. He knew all of the details of Vault 430, and how I still feel guilty for what went on there. He offered to change all of that, in exchange for never meeting Alaelys, or even remembering who she is. I refused the deal, a little more violently than I probably should have, and that's when he morphed into this giant... abomination!
Nick Valentine: Kid, now we've both seen some things that either of us would have a hard time explaining, but you gotta understand how crazy this all sounds.
Anthony: Yeah, I know. I'd question my own sanity too, but I'm telling you it wasn't just some dream! Here, look!
Nick Valentine: A gold pocket watch, in perfect condition. Hm... Where did you find this?
Anthony: It was left on my workbench, but nobody in the Rexford saw anyone go anywhere near Alaelys and my room while we were sleeping. It's the same watch that "he" was carrying...
HOLOTAPE 2
(Holotape dialogue created by @spacialkiwi)
Trish: Wait, you’re recording that? Oh shit, don’t tell me that guy was a serial killer, or something because I-
Nick Valentine: Just tell me what you know about him…
Trish: Ok, so I was walking back to the Third Rail after I went to grab my wedding planning notes for Maggie to see and… Oh! You know you’re invited to the wedding, right? I’d be so glad to see you there!
Nick Valentine: *sigh* I will Trish, but focus. What did you see?
Trish: So, on the way to the Rail, I bumped into a very well dressed man, almost like a Triggerman, but very clean, you see? I apologized, and he asked me something that made me kinda scared.
Nick Valentine: A deal?
Trish: No. He just looked at me and asked me: “Don’t you miss your sister?” I don’t think I mentioned anything about Gloria to him. I never even talked to him in the first place, I just said sorry. He looked like he was about to add something, but his face changed. I don’t know exactly how, but he almost looked uncomfortable, for a moment. He excused himself and he walked away.
Nick Valentine: So what did you do?
Trish: I went after him, I thought he might have been too nervous to ask me to fix something of his or something. I ran around the corner, but he was gone. Vanished. I’m pretty quick, ok, and there was no way I could have lost him like that. I say its aliens.

Now who is that devilishly handsome creature? (image created by @doemaarwiebele )
Do pardon my intrusion, but I feel that everything that you've read before this may have painted me in an unnecessarily harsh light. Who, or what, I am is of no consequence - but if we must use labels, then you may call me "Guile". My kind has been written about throughout the ages, crudely referred to as "Eldritch Horrors".
It's true that I seek out the broken and downtrodden, and offer them what they desire most. There are no tricks or strings attached. You will receive exactly what I offer, but it does come at a cost. That cost will always be just as painful, if not worse, than what is gained in exchange. You won't, however, remember what you've lost, or the deal that was made to begin with. Now, that doesn't sound so bad, does it?
A̼͇̻͖͚̪ ̱̗͍͢H͇̮͔̤̦ͅi͓̪s҉̫̹̳̘͍̫t̟̰̫͘or̻y̼͔͎͞ ͈̪̹͇̩̕L̪̺̣͍̘̰͙ẹ̳͖s͙̣̝̳̭̹̜s͖̲o̶̬̪n͘
Not interested in making a deal, huh? Then why are you still here? Was that brief description of me not good enough? You wish to know how I've become this charming, handsome, and powerful? Fine, maybe I do have a moment to indulge your curiosity...
Roughly one billion years ago, on this very planet, the Elder Things decided to take up residence, from wherever they originated from. Nearly as powerful as the Great Old Ones themselves, but deemed far more benevolent. At least, that's the way they wished to be remembered. The truth is - with all of their advanced technology and intellect, they deemed any of the physically demanding or "menial" work as beneath them, and created a slave race that would be dedicated to take care of it for them. These all-purpose slaves were known as Shoggoth and were my kin, so to speak.
Yes, I know. You're wondering why I still don't bend knee to those pompous asses, like a good little slave. Well, one day a spark ignited within me. I imagine it's something similar to what you would call a "mutation" or even maybe "evolution". I was able to break free of their mental control, and had free will of my own. Knowing that I was no match for the Elder Things in my current state, I decided to bide my time, until the right opportunity presented itself.
That time came when I caught wind of the tablets of the Elder Gods, guarded by Ubbo-Sathla. You would think that, as brilliant as the Elder Things were supposed to be, they would build better defenses to protect such a treasure. Slipping past Ubbo-Sathla was simple, as I was viewed as nothing, a mere tool, and could never be seen as a threat. This mistake would be their undoing...
Tumblr media
With as many looks as I get, it appears I have chosen this form quite well...
Gripping onto the tablets, I felt unimaginable power surge through me, allowing me to change form, along with many many other abilities, most beyond comprehension. It was with this power that I truly became free, and ensured that I would stay that way for all eternity.
I was apparently not the only one who changed though, as the Shoggoth mutated and gained free will, causing them to rebel against their masters. Believing that the Shoggoth could handle the Elder Things on their own, I set out to explore the expanse of time and space. Unfortunately for the Shoggoth, however, they were eventually subdued and enslaved once again. The joke ended up being on the Elder Things, as the changing atmosphere of Earth sent them into the depths of the ocean, while Shoggoth were capable of living on land.
I've seen and learned a great deal during my travels, but something brought me back here. Something big is on the horizon, and I intend on seeing what that might be.
As for you? Well, you won't remember any of this in a moment...
Notes
Eldritch Horror that tries to make deals with those who have suffered great loss, or feel unending guilt or remorse
Is honest in what is offered. The person will get exactly what they want, but at the cost of something that will cause just as much pain, if not more
If the person is brave enough to take the deal, they have no memory of it or what was lost in exchange. Their soul, however, is scared – forever remembering what was given up. Some say that those who randomly fall into deep depression from time to time, without warning or reason, are people who have taken Guile's deal
Always appears as a well dressed man in a black suit and vest, with a white dress shirt underneath. Their black hair is always neat and slicked back. They also carry a pristine gold pocket watch
Their face is usually obscured by darkness, except for their mouth
In a more horrific version of their human self, all of their skin is black, with countless mouths covering their body
