It's actually been really interesting for myself too because at my first readthrough I didn't think that much about kaladin (since I was too busy kissing the floor shallan walks on lol), I mainly dismissed my mixed feelings towards him due to the reluctant hero archetype he embodies that I don't really like. it's only after the end of wor (that fucking moash scene 😭) that I went slightly feral for his arc. *slaps his left ass cheek* this bad boy can fit so many parallels.

now I can actually pinpoint *why* Kal is my least favorite pov character (cuz I'm afraid that hasn't changed lol)! which is cool. Suffice to say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the exes to lovers idea and the premise you've laid out! It sounds like it could get pretty damn angsty, which I should never be surprised about the potential for angst when you're at the helm (in the best way) haha, but also I'm feeling like there could be a lot of fluff too (i'm manifesting). I just know the interactions between Paige and Azzi's kid will be so endearing (for both Azzi and us) but also I'm envisioning a menace duo that'll drive Azzi up the wall. That little girl is gonna have P wrapped around her lil pinky SO FAST. And well, I already know Azzi would be the best mum 🥹 (I could also be 1000% wrong with all these assumptions I'm already making about their characterisations in the fic, so feel free to ignore if I'm just spouting total nonsense).

Nobody asked me, but now that I've finished the main story of both Danganronpa games (Let's Plays, anyway, I'm going to play myself now), here are the thoughts running through my head. This post will be for the first game, I'll make another post for the second one.

(spoilers under the cut: I know the games have been out for a while but still):

1. It took me a LONG time to finish the first game after the first execution. I really liked Leon and not just because his design reminded me of Kirishima from MHA. I felt really bad about the situation he was in, even if, you know, he still killed Sayaka, his death was Brutal. I stopped watching for a few months because it haunted me, until my sister encouraged me to keep going because she wanted to talk to someone about it.

2. On that note, WHY, of all the available classmates, did Sayaka pick Leon as her potential victim? Why, if your goal was to kill, would you pick one of the Ultimate athletes? I feel like she would have had far more success if she'd chosen Hifumi or even Chihiro (sorry bb, I love you). Is there a lore reason behind it?

3. All that said, I am unfortunately interested in Leosaya content for the dramatic irony and tragedy of it, so if anyone has suggestions, let me know, and I also want to see Leon and Ibuki being best buds because she left her music group to pursue her actual creative dreams and Leon hated baseball and wanted to pursue dreams of being a musician and I can see them teaming up to be in a weird-ass band together. Someone direct me to any Leon and Ibuki platonic (or romantic, I'm down) content.

4. I think Leon is gaining blorbo status for me, but not as much as some other characters from the second game, but this is in no coherent order so bear with me, and also keep in mind, I have yet to play through all his possible dialogue in the School Mode version of the game so this is liable to change.

5. I went from waiting eagerly for Byakuya to die to being devastated that he died in the second game to REALLY HAPPY that that apparently wasn't even him (though I do like the Imposter & would like to know more about them). AND THEN to being so excited that he's apparently in a power throuple with Kyoko and Makoto, OT3s FOR THE WIN!!!!

6. Hina and Sakura were really sweet, and I Loooooove how protective Hina was, because yeah, the whole point of the fourth case was she underestimated Sakura's strength, but I also think Sakura deserved to be protected. Just because she's strong doesn't mean she didn't deserve people defending her.

7. On that note, ya'll, when I didn't know what to expect from this game, I legit thought somehow Mondo and Taka were going to die in that sauna. My stomach was in knots over it. Then they just. Were bros. And I was confused but on board with them (platonically AND romantically) and then the second case devastated me and not just because I had to watch Taka be Sad for so long.

5. I feel...so bad about the whole case with Mondo and Chihiro. They were BUDDIES. I know the whole point of the story is that people betray each other but God, imagine the "motive" you were given wasn't so much a motive as it was a fucking PTSD break and it lead to you killing someone that you were not only cool with, but who admired you for qualities you didn't feel worthy of, just FUCK--

6. If you let yourself stop and think of the Everything about these games and the stories, it really fucks you up, let me live in No Despair Land where everyone's friends with each other and there's no murder--

7. Also, the whole thing with Junko. I remember, before I took a break after Leon's execution, vaguely wondering about her last words? But it was a fleeting thought that didn't lead to anything, AND THEN IT CAME BACK AROUND??? So holy shit, that was cool.

8. Gotta say, as frustrating as a lot of repetitive stuff in the game got, I understood why it was needed for the case solving portion. As some of you can tell from my Clone Wars series with sweetiepie08, I LOVE mystery solving stuff when it's done right, and even if some of them are So SO convoluted, it's satisfying to see how they fall together.

9. The VAs in these games are fucking awesome. Even if some of the shit they had to say was ridiculous (which is par the course if that's your job), they did so damn good.

10. YA'LL, I legit thought Makoto was about to be executed, so when Alter Ego suddenly showed up and saved him, I shrieked, and then KYOKO found him, and I know a lot didn't happen after that except a shit ton of exposition, but I was so psyched.

11. *sigh* I don't know what the public opinion is of Toko, but she drove me insane with the debilitating inferiority complex. And then the Genocide Jack/Jill thing happened and I mean, at least she was...slightly more interesting with that, but still, I think Toko was somehow my least favorite out of the whole gang, next to Hifumi. I also would not have predicted that she'd be one of the final survivors.

12. I legit thought Hiro was going to snap at one point after his long period of denial at the beginning. I thought he'd snap and kill someone or get killed, so when he survived until the end, I was very surprised.

13. Tbh, I did not predict the endgame survivors for either Danganronpa. I think literally all I would have gotten right was Makoto, Kyoko, and Hajime. Everyone else was quite a surprise to me.

14. Not to compare another Danganronpa character to MHA, but I was super fond of Taka right off the bat because he's so Tenya coded, those two are definitely cousins or something.

15. Someone add onto my agenda of doing a Danganronpa x MHA fusion somehow, I'll make thoughts on another post.

16. I really loved Kyoko's dynamic with Makoto, idk why, and I just fucking love Kyoko in general, she's so cool. Sherlock Holmes, step aside.

I don't really want to kill myself that much anymore. I've been having so much fun! I've been away over the weekend with people from uni to do kind of like a first semester get to know eachother kinda stuff and it was SO. MUCH. FUN. I loved it so freaking much and I met so many nice people and I had SO. MANY. fun conversations about really, really interesting topics. I can't, honestly. The people there are too cool. I mostly talked to P and M and GOSH how I enjoyed it. I'm kind of really, really attracted to P. Something about P.... something about P.

I'm just so happy that M finally did end up "accepting" me. He used to not look at me at all and now he looks at me all the time when we talked. I'm really happy about this shift. And I'm just generally so happy that everybody there is so niceeee. P.... P has an angelic voice. P reminds me a little of Snoopy but only because both smoke excessively. P is sweet, while Snoopy only tried to be. P actually isn't a racist and misoginist. P is actually very sweet. But I don't like his tendency towards self-destruction, with all the drugs he takes n such. Last night, P and I stayed up for very, very long and just talked. M was also there for a long time and L kinda joined us at 6-7 am but we stayed up until after 8. I loved that. I loved being close to him. I loved it. And it makes me kinda sad to see how touchy he gets with male people. He's straight, so yay, ig, but....... I wish he were like that with me as well. Maybe I need to start it. P is such a delight to talk to and he is just so cool, he's very funny and he knows so many things. The philosophical type of conversations happen very easily with him. M as well. M has a lot of interesting views.

I'm so attracted to P. He's so... manly but in a good way. He's a MAN. He's very respectful but not in a pedantic manner. The way he sits. The way he exists without feeling like he's constantly being watched and just being himself. The way he knows so many things and is so interesting to talk to. I feel embarrassed kind of, that I'm such a boring person to talk to. I like to ask questions and if the topic is interesting, I like to pose my position, but I'm bad at making casual conversations interesting. He isn't and I feel kind of embarrassed. I feel like he shouldn't have been talking to me as much because I'm just not as interesting.

But I'm glad that M and P thought it was so interesting that I'm an anarchist and that I have espuray paint cansu and Marcedes' estarsu hidden in my closet. Both from kind of olden times, but yeah. I'm glad they thought it was interesting, and both said that I don't really look like it. It's interesting. P and I talked about correlation of the person's looks and their personality and world views.

I don't really want to kill myself anymore, even if it's only to just be able to fully explore these people's personalities and get to know them more and more. I love these people istg. It's been so much fun talking to them. I looooooved this weekend. I want more weekends like this to happen.

Edit: I just realised this song fits so well for Alec's letters and meeting at the museum. Must resist the urge to add the same exact track twice.

So about Touch Me... Some of the lyrics apply better in other versions. Spotify just has this version tho. Touch me, just like that.

All I've Ever Known. Maurice discovered so much that night about touch and sharing and being with someone. He wants to be with Alec. Hold you tight, I don't wanna to back to the lonely life.]" Alec opened up his eyes and he'll never be the same.

Can't Help Falling in Love With You. 'Did you ever dream you'd a friend, Alec? ... Someone to last your whole life...' 'Alec, you're a dear fellow and we've been very happy.'

I'd Like To Walk Around In Your Mind was added from Maurice's perspective. Perhaps it fits Alec too...

I think Love At First Sight has the double meaning of the literal title, as well as "wouldn't you like to kiss her" perhaps being... Something Maurice would hear.

Every lyric is perhaps pulled straight from Alec's brain, to be honest. I remember seeing a post with this song in other contexts with them too. So yes, a few meanings.

Amour plastique. Alec reminiscences on the night in the Russet room. Why hasn't he come?

Alec really toughed it out, 2 days he spent in the boathouse, really wanted to see Maurice, really knew they had something, and doesn't want to be treated like a dog. Generally, his 1st letter.

Moon Song. My friend said they added it as a general love song. — Why do you treat me like this? Why didn't you come to the boathouse? — Alec's 2nd letter as a whole. Plus bits of 1st.

And you pushed me in, and now my feet can't touch the bottom of you. ... So I will wait for the next time you want me, like a dog with a bird at your door.

Wildest Dreams. They think a lot of each other. They share once more. But they must say goodbye. Alec saw this coming. Maurice hopes that Alec will remember him like this.

I Hear a Symphony. Alec truly opened up Maurice's eyes. Maurice was meant to be with him. He helped Maurice, changed his life. But now Alec is leaving on ship... Or is he? The symphony leads into...

An orchestral sountrack. The Boathouse. Unfortunately the Maurice soundtrack is not on spotify. It's on my personal YouTube music version. I added it because it just captures the boathouse the only way the sountrack itself can.

The Word of Your Body (Reprise). MLM people have moment of romantic tension, which culminates in confessions of love. Just had to add it. "Haven't you heard the word of your body?" perfectly describes Alec gifting and showing Maurice the wonder of truest physical affection and love. He lets Maurice be okay with himself, and again, changes everything. Every lyric is perfect.

I See The Light. Yeah. Every lyric. Maurice is Rapunzel. Movie Blond too. Both the morning at Russet room and the museum. And the world has somehow shifted. All at once everything is different, now that I see you. "By now they were in love with each other consciously."...

Suddenly Seymour. Suddenly see more, yeah? Clive = ass and someone gives him affection for once, wow! Sidenote, I want to sing this with them and their accents... Suddenly SCUDDER...

Helpless. Musical theatre songs seem to be good retellings of their love story. It's why they belong in post boathouse. Summaries and retellings. They're also good at conveying love they'd feel for each other in general, all times ever. Like loving men, retelling a story.

I'll Cover You. Cute love song feat. gays. I like to imagine them dancing around, declaring their love and devotion for each other. Walking and dancing around like in the original scene, sometime post canon. In my own imagination, I thought of Alec as Angel and Maurice (Christopher) as Collins.

Video Games. They must love spending time together. I thought this to be Maurice POV. Only worth living if somebody is loving you I mean, come on.

The thought of them getting married makes me cry. This song in general makes me want to cry, it's so romantic, tender, and exudes my favourite era...

Let us float, float, float through the clouds, and just have a lot of fun. We'll go up, up, up as two and then come down as one.

Put Your Head on My Shoulder. We Belong Together. I always imagine Maurice and Alec slowdancing to songs that come on the radio together, when the 1950s hits... Alec probably rests his head on his shoulder as this plays and they dance...

Electric Love. Fun fact: this song got me to share the playlist. Got me thinking about them and their anniversary again. The funky busy instrumental describes well their passionate love. The highs of electric LOOOOOOVE describe the intensity of them.

All the things that had to go right, all the things that had to go wrong, that lead us to the place where we were going all along.

So getting out of bed early to make him breakfast is a bit of a struggle

He does prefer to be little spoon (poor man just wants cuddles) so untangling yourself is no trouble 

It’s when he rolls over onto you things go wrong

He wakes up briefly, cracking an eye open.

“I am not waking up at this ungodly hour.” and then passes out again

A while later he wakes up (again) to the smell of eggs and cinnamon 

He panics, trying to find you, but your side of the bed is cold

Then you walk in holding a tray of breakfast, trying hard not to drop it

He’s...he’s stunned. 

And so in love with you, he is re-realizing that now

“Oh MC you didn’t have to!”

So many kisses, he compliments your cooking, waving his fork around like a wand

He’s not used to this kind of love, he’s still blushing about it

Setting the empty dishes away he grabs and pulls you close, planting loud wet kisses into your hair, making you squeal

He’s very dramatic but he does mean it

Also don’t count on getting out of bed anytime soon

Astoundingly hard to wake up, normally it’s a pain, but today you have a surprise for him so you don’t want him awake just yet

You both sneak out to get pumpkin bread and the ingredients to make his favourite kind of tea

He wakes up to the smell of pancakes, pumpkin bread and the sound of the kettle

After having a momentary heart attack at Faust being very up close to his face he relaxes into the cushions of your bed

“Oh MC all of this for me? You shouldn’t have!”

Between each bite he’ll attempt to kiss you

After you both are done he tackles you in a hug, sending you two tumbling off the bed laughing in a tangle of limbs

He kisses you so hard your cheeks squish against his mouth

She’s used to having breakfast in bed, some days she feels like taking her meals alone

She also has to get up early for work, so she’s used to getting up 

But today you gotta leap outta bed and get to work quickly

She’s a light sleeper (unlike her brother) so you gotta be extra quiet

Waffles are hard to make quietly but you make due, keeping an eye on Pepi

She wakes up to the smell of waffles and...are those pastries?!

You walk in a tray piled high with eggs waffles and homemade pastries 

Portia is so touched you’d go to such extremes for her

“Get back in bed my dear! I’m not gonna finish this myself MC!”

She’ll feed you some of the pastries, laughing when you get cream on your nose

Pepi did enjoy the food you left out for him too

Portia will kiss the cream off your nose every time you get messy, making the both of you laugh

Like everyone else, she will spend the day in bed with you

Unlike Nadia he gets a big head about breakfast in bed

EEEEE i just finished up the G5 movie and i LOVED IT! everything about it felt super well thought-out, perfectly executed, and it just put the biggest smile on my face. it was a great little well-rounded package of delightful ponyponypony. 10/10, got me hyped for the new gen. super long wall of stream-of-consciousness thoughts and favorite things about it behind the cut ^_^

-of course seeing the G4 mane 6 in the intro was a blast, and so sweet. LOVED the little foray into 2D they started with, it felt like a great way to transition not only into the new generation but the new animation style

-and speaking of the animation style, WOWEE did it look amazing. i kind of have an obsession with cgi musicals and this scratched that itch and then some. everything was a delight to look at-- I loved the fluffy fetlocks, the bright colors, the bigger snoots, the hoof shape, and the slighter longer bodies (which i read was to accommodate for the transition to 3D!). the environments knocked my socks off.

-the humor was super on point and it got a couple real chortles out of me. just a charming, well-intentioned, sweet movie-- I've always loved that MLP tends to keep away from jokes that are mean-spirited or cruel. the serious delivery of "the queen has been arrested for being a phony pony full of baloney" right to the shot of her posing gorgeously in the mugshot killed me

-the plot wrapped up soooo nicely! it really made me sad to see Sunny's ancestral home being destroyed and of course we finish off with a little speech about the real magic being the friends we made along the way. absolutely darling.

-SUNNY ALICORN!?!?? HUHWHUHHH?? if i hadn't been spoiled for that via twitter i would have been knocked absolutely off my rocker. the updated designs for the wings and horns are gorgeous too. just a real visual treat with all the glittery glimmery effects!!

-ok i looooooved the songs. I have been watching izzy's little Fit Right In song and seeing it in action was great. Pipp's song is great (and i really felt for her when she got exposed for the royal lie, her little hurt face, omg). i'm definitely gonna be humming sunny's little Be My Day song to myself while i powerwalk to the bus lol

-PONY DDR WAS SO AWESOME. Alphabittle was so awesome. i wanna be his friend and listen to him explain his collection of N64 emulators. also i think he and the pegasus queen should have a cute lil romance.

-Sprout was a weird villain, but funny too. the whole mommy's boy thing was uhhh. strange

-WHO IS BEST PONY? well, hard to say at this point. I'm fond of Izzy as i'm sure everyone is-- she reminds me of myself and she's just so darn tootin' cute. I also adore Hitch and his heart of gold though, though, and Pipp is so darling, and Zipp is so smart and reliable, and and and....

OH MAN!! ultimately, i just really had a blast watching this movie. i highly recommend it to anyone who likes ponyponypony. I'm curious to see how the show will look (hopefully good), and i am psyched to see all these horsies go on more adventures :')

i feel like everything has built to this tbh...... this is my first original release on my four years as a fan and excited is an understatement. here have all my thoughts on the album (most of them first listen) right under the cut!

happy now:

overall this song is like mid-tier for me. i do love the lyrics (”it is okay if i drop some of the pressure / have an adventure, give me the keys” is my favorite part!) and i like the changes they did in the recorded version - like, adding mitch’s adlibs at the end. it’s a really charming song! 6.5/10

love me when i don’t:

this reminds me of one part of their home medley... can’t remember what song that was lmao (edit: it’s phillip phillips’ home!)

be my eyes:

EASILY one of my favorite pentatonix originals of all time. listening to this song for the first time was a burst of happiness i haven’t felt in a long time and it’s very dear to my heart for that same reason. there is NOTHING that i dislike about this song, it’s simply perfectly executed. kirstie’s voice sounds amazing on that range, mitch’s harmonies and then his part by the end really make the entire thing. i love how unique the sound is and how insanely good the production turned out to be. the lyrics are also very heartfelt and i love the metaphors (especially the camera one!!! kirstie said yes i’m in love with ben hausdo and what about it!). if you listen to ANY song in this album, let it be this one. 10/10.

i feel like this is such a well structured song. mitch’s voice is so perfectly emotional in this and i can feel every word he sings. i love how the bridge transitions so naturally in the last chorus and keeps the feeling on the song right up until the end. also it’s such a change of pace from the first ones!! 8.5/10

it’s really interesting seeing what the titles of the song actually mean in the context of it. i thought this would initially be about not being fooled in a relationship and merge into a break-up anthem but this is way more about starting a new relationship after being hurt by a previous break-up. and knowing that kirstie wrote this is :( it’s so beautiful!!!

the transition from the strong bridge to the beautiful melody of the verse..... oh my GOD

the lucky ones:

not particularly crazy about this one, tbh. it’s a nice 5-part harmony song for them but i can’t really connect with the melody and i don’t like the lyrics either :/ 5/10

wow! okay! i am simply so starstruck thinking that i spent so much time wishing and waiting for an original album and it’s here. it’s beautiful. you can tell they’ve matured so much from their first release!!! it shows in the sounds, their voices and their lyrics. my favorite part of it might be how different every song feels from the other, they’re all so individually unique and unforgettable. i think kirstie shines here the most, both lyrically and vocally-wise, and it’s a well-deserved spotlight since my favorite songs off the album are the ones where she played a major role into. i’m so proud of every single one of them and i wish them SO much success with this. i’m gonna be enjoying this album a lot in the future and i’m so honored to live through this era of their careers!!!!!!

Okay I was gonna do another SG:WoT post anyway because we’ve got a new King interview but THEN, he released the cover to issue four so you KNOW I gotta geek out about this.

Okay, so!

First! The interview!

It’s on (ugh) screenrant so I’m not gonna link, I’m just gonna nab the interesting bits:

On the different direction of the book, and if he wanted to go back to the original Adventure Comics vibes: “So, the idea of this thing was to strip her story down, because Supergirl has a majorly weird history in terms of continuity. At least 13 writers have rewritten her origin over the years. Her dad has 13 origin stories; sometimes he's evil, sometimes he's a robot, sometimes alive, sometimes he's dead. She's changed dramatically in the last 10 years, between coming back to life to the New 52 to Rebirth. She's gone through so much that it's hard to get a hold of her. Not to mention in the '90s, when I was coming up, she was like an ectoplasmic space angel. There's so much there, and I just wanted to take all that stuff off and get to the core of the character; get her out of her normal environments and her normal conflicts. It seems like all our stories are about her dad or her relationship to Superman. Instead, let's see the purity of that character.”

On starting the book the way he did: “...I wanted to start out with a very human moment of a person turning 21 and getting drunk. And a person who is getting drunk because they want to be alone, and they just want to forget about the shit that's happened in their past. That's such a human moment. And the fact that she's Supergirl, so she waits till it's legal - because these super people, they follow the rules. She waited, and now it's legal and she can have this moment. She goes off by herself, with her dog that always follows her, and she has a moment where she can be free. For a lot of people in the US, whether you've been drinking since you were 14 or started that day, your 21st birthday and the day after are days you remember for the rest of your life. It's a day of freedom and consequence, and I wanted to show Supergirl going through that.”

On rising to the challenge of helping Supergirl perform better, sales/popularity-wise: “ When I first got on this book, I called Steve Orlando, who had just written a Supergirl run. And he was the one who opened my eyes to how good the character is. He had such insight into her. He was like, ‘There is a difference between Clark and her, and what she's gone through.’ He just laid it for me.”

On starting the book off with Ruthye’s journey, and gradually building to Kara’s: “ I was like, "Okay, this is going to be from the point of view of someone under Supergirl." And so I switched the point of view to this new brand new character, whose name is Ruthye. And we went from there: we start with Ruthye's story, we see her discover Supergirl, and she's our audience. She's our way in, the way Robin has always been the way into Batman.”

On whether or not other characters will show up, outside of Supergirl and Ruthye: “It's like my Superman: Up in the Sky, where it's a distillation of the character. You'll see other characters, but the focus of every issue will be on Supergirl. And it's something where at the very end, you can be like, "Why is Supergirl great? Why is she important to the DC Universe? What is her future in the DC Universe? Here, read this one trade that can answer all three of those questions at once."So, there will be other characters in the Super universe. But the focus will always be on her; on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. It's her finding out about herself and her own strength.”

On Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow vs. his other titles: “Supergirl is my first 2021 book, or my first book of the 20s. That wrapped up my books of the teens, and now we're in a new generation. God willing, from the moment I started this book, I was like, ‘I'm gonna take a risk, and I'm gonna write books that are a little brighter.’ I know that's coming from me, and it's not to say we're going to avoid conflict or we're not going to explore the depths of the human soul. All that stuff will be in there. But these books are made from a place of joy, not from a place of anger; from a place of hope, not from a place of despair. It very much contrasts to those other books, in my mind.”

On how he thinks folks will react to the Krypto cliffhanger: “I mean, they're gonna think it's a good cliffhanger. That's how I think they're going to react. They're going to say, ‘I want the next issue.’ That's literally my job as written in my contract. Something where at the end of an issue, someone says, ‘I want more.’ So, that's how I hope they react.”

And now, as always, SOME THOUGHTS:

I love that he brings up the fact that so many Supergirl stories focus on Zor-El and Clark, and how he was like, ‘let’s not do that.’

That’s my big gripe with modern Supergirl comics; they are trying so hard to make a statement on why we need both a Supergirl AND a Superman, that they end up spending ALL THEIR TIME talking about Clark, instead of, you know. Telling a fun Supergirl story.

Same thing with Zor-El! I know folks love Rebirth--I like it quite a bit myself--but I think the nostalgia goggles prevent folks from remembering that the whole first arc of that book was re-doing the ‘Cyborg Superman’ garbage from the Nu52. 

Speaking of Rebirth, really like that of all the recent SG writers he coulda talked to, he talked to Steve Orlando.

Like, if ya can’t get Gates on the phone, get Orlando.

(I get the sense that Gates doesn’t like this book, actually, based on a vague tweet. But don’t quote me on that.) 

Looks like Ruthye is gonna be our POV/audience insert character for the whole run. I’m...mmmm. I don’t love it, but I understand the logic here. Especially since he compared it to Batman and Robin--how you use Robin as your entry point for a bat book. 

And you know what? Kara’s supporting cast needs some help, so. Welcome to the Superfam, Ruthye.

I also love the explanation behind the drinking thing, as well as the fact that Kara waited until it was 100% legal for her to drink because OF COURSE SHE WOULD.

I am so worried that Krypto is gonna die b/c of what we saw in Future State. I’m over here with my Pepe Silva board like, ‘Well, what if Kara agrees to help Ruthye because Krem MURDERED HER DOG?!?! WHAT IF THIS IS JOHN WICK IN SPACE?!?!?!’

So I am DISMAYED that King does not reassure us AT ALL.

Thus I am forced to cling to this tidbit here: “ But these books are made from a place of joy, not from a place of anger; from a place of hope, not from a place of despair. It very much contrasts to those other books, in my mind.”

Killing the dog would not be joyful. XD So, like. I’m REALLY HOPIN’ HE’LL BE OKAY.

AND LASTLY, (Except not really)

I have some additional, miscellaneous thoughts unrelated to the interview b/c I’m me and I’m loving having a Supergirl comic back on the shelves, however polarizing it may be.

Something I realized, when details started to come out regarding the book, and that other folks have now noted as well: Kara was 16 when Rebirth launched in 2016; she’s just turned 21 in 2021, making her one of the extremely few comic characters to age in real time.

I don’t think that was planned, but it is cool.

It occurred to me on a re-read that Ruthye never calls Kara Kara in her narration, only Supergirl. And I was a little sad! But then I remembered that Kara wouldn’t necessarily reveal her identity to people she’s helping, she would just be ‘Supergirl’ to them. 

I really do love how, so far, there has been NARY A MENTION of Kara angst-ing over being in Clark’s shadow, or being Superman’s cousin.

It appears that her drinking alone on a remote planet is more related to trying to forget her trauma/grief related to Krypton. MAYBE. We don’t know yet.

The Clark thing could still come up. I hope it doesn’t. 

(Interesting to note! Kara recently appeared in Action Comics, helping Clark and Jon investigate some Kryptonian refugees; IDK how closely these books will necessarily ‘work together’ in terms of continuity, but! It’s possible that the discovery of those mysterious refugees was triggering, thus sending her on her way to her own solo title.)

(Well. That’s gonna be my headcanon, anyway. XD)

AND LASTLY, (for real this time)

ISSUE FOUR COVER!!!!

Okay, some immediate thoughts:

GOOD LORD IT’S STUNNING.

I loooooove the fire motif, reminds me of a part from the Rebirth run, where Kara met the Super-Man of China, and they visually referenced All-Star Superman, having the Kryptonians kind of...become the sun.

Also STAR CHART?!?! PIRATE MAP!?!?!?! 

The VIBES I tell you, the VIIIIIIIBES.

Also I love that it’s just Kara.

Don’t get me wrong! I like Ruthye just fine so far! But yeah, yeah, give me some more solo-Kara focus, even if it’s just in the art.

Just realized that once this thing gets collected as a TBP, we might get some Evely art backmatter. OhHhhHHhhH YESSSS.

Mini Fanfic #652: A Bit of an Unexpected Introductions (Super Smash Bros Ultimate)

12:50 p.m. at the Sidewalks of Smash Town......

Kyoko: (Sitting Next to her Girlfriend and Boyfriend While Looking Up at the Blue Sky) You guys ever thought about what kind of cloud you want to be?

Misako: (Turns to Kyoko With a Confused Look on her Face) The hell kind of question is that?

Kyoko: Just a bit of curiosity is all. For instance, I would like to be a pink, puffy cloud.....(Eyes Suddenly Starts to Glitter in Joy) Filled with Cotton Candy~

Dark Pit: Bright and sweet....(Smirks Playfully at Kyoko) It's perfectly describe you already.

Misako: (Nodded in Agreement) Yep.

Kyoko: (Starts Blushing While Giggling Softly) D'awww~ Thanks, you guys~ Now it's your turn, Misako. What's cloud you wanna be like?

Misako: ('Psh') I dunno. I guess....Mines would be.... purple and junk?

Dark Pit: (Chuckles Lightly) Real original, babe.

Misako: (Pouts at Dark Pit) Well, what about you, Mr. Smartass? What would your cloud would be if mines are sooooooo original?

Dark Pit: Simple. Mines would black and dark, which could shoot out killer lighting storms and everything.

Misako: Dark a.d fierce.....Yeeeup. That's definitely you in a nutshell.

Dark Pit: (Nodded Proudly) ('Hmph') Damn right.

Kyoko: That maybe true, buuuuuuut there is one feature of that cloud of yours that is missing.

Dark Pit: Which is......

Kyoko: (Smiles Brightly) It's cuteness~ (Gives Dark Pit a Big Kiss on the Cheek) ('Mmwaaah')

Dark Pit: (Gives Kyoko a Deadpinned Look on his Face While Blushing) Seriously?

Kyoko: Yes, seriously! You are our adorable edgy angel boi after all~

Misako: (Starts to Smirk Playfully) I gotta agree with our girl on this one, babe. (Begins to Pull on Dark Pit's Cheek) Cuteness is an important factor for your "Black and Dark" style of a cloud~

Dark Pit: H-Hey! Knock that shit off already!

Misako: Not a chance, angel boi-

The trio couple stops what they were doing, look up, and see it was none other than Ren and Makoto staring down at them in a bit of a surprise manner.

Ren: Is that you?

Dark Pit: (Crap.) In the flesh.

Makoto: Who are those two girls you are sitting with?

Kyoko: You know those two, Pitto-Kins?

Dark Pit: (Sighs as He Gets up From the Bench) Didn't think I would do this so soon, but...(Turns to the Girls and have his Hand Pointed at the Couple Behind Him) Girls, I wanna Introduce you to my older brother, Ren, and his girlfriend, Makoto.

Ren: (Wave his Hand Up at Misako and Kyoko) Hey.

Makoto: (Bows at the Girls) Please to meet the both of you.

Dark Pit: (Turns to the Couple) And guys, I like you two meet Misako and Kyoko...(Takes a Bit of a Deep Breath) My girlfriends.

Ren/Makoto: (Eyes Widened in Genuine Surprised) (Girlfriends!?)

Misako: (Got Up from the Bench with Kyoko and Wave) 'Sup.

Kyoko: (Happily Waves at Ren and Makoto) Hello!~ (Turns to Ren) So you're really Pitto-Kins big brother?

Ren: (Tries His Hardest Not to Burst Out Laughing at the Nickname with a Straight Face) Adopted Big Brother. But we're still family nonetheless. (Puts out a Playful Smirk at the Trio) So I take it you two girls are responsible for sweeping Pitto-Kins here off his two feet of love, am I right?~

Kyoko: (Happily Nodded) Yep!~ He's our precious edgy angel boi after all~

Makoto: (Already Intrigued) Oh really?~ (Begins to Smirk Playfully as Well) Well, if it's no problem, would you two mind telling us when and how the both of you met our "edgy angel boi" here?~

Dark Pit: (Glares and Silently Growls at Ren and Makoto, Hoping they Would Get the Message to Shut Up Already)

Misako: Well, if you must know, the three of us first met in Oct-

Kyoko: ('GASPS') MISAKO!!

Misako: (Turns to Kyoko) What?

Kyoko: It's already five minutes close to one!!

Misako: (Takes a Look at her Phone at Eyes Widened Once She Sees the Time on the Screen) Holy shit. You're right. (Turns to Rest of the Gang Behind Her) As much as we would love to stay and chat, we gotta get back home fast.

Kyoko: Young & The Restless is about to start at any minute! We can't be late!!

Dark Pit: (Rolled his Eyes) You guys still watch that low tier trash?

Kyoko: (Glares at Dark Pit Intense While Grabbing Him By the Collar) HEY! Don't you DARE insult that romantic masterpiece, mister!! YOU GOT THAT!?

Dark Pit: Okay! Okay! I won't insult it anymore! I promise!!

Kyoko: (Takes a Deep Breath Before Letting Go of Dark Pit's Collar and Smiles Brightly) I'm glad we have an understanding Pitto-Kins!~ (Kiss Dark Pit on the Cheeks Again)

Dark Pit: (Starts Blushing) Y-Yeah...No problem...

Misako: (Chuckles Lightly) Alright. We're about to head off. Be sure to text us when you get back home, 'kay?~

Dark Pit: Will do. Be safe out there.

Misako: You too, babe. (Kisses Dark Pit on the Lips Before Sprinting Away with Kyoko) See ya.

Kyoko: (Wave Goodbye to her Boyfriend While Sprinting) We Loooooove Youuuu!~

Dark Pit: (Waves Back at the Girls) Love you idiots too!~ (Turns to Ren and Makoto, Who Are Still Smirking at Him) ('Sigh') Alright. Get all your dumb questions out of your systems now....

Makoto: Pitto-san! Why didn't you tell us you got yourself two girlfriends?~

Ren: Let alone dating at all?~

Dark Pit: (Rolled his Eyes) I was planning on telling you guys about them sooner, but apparently the universe has other plans....

Ren: (Chuckles Lightly) And it definitely shows.

Makoto: So how exactly did you three met?

Dark Pit: We met two in a half months ago. I was walking by, minding my own business, when the girls was getting rallied up by a bunch of jocks and preppy guys. So I decided to help them out.

Makoto: (Being Hopefully) By having a calm and nonviolence conversation among each other?

Dark Pit: By kicking all of their sorry asses to the group.

Makoto: Oh. Figure you would say something like that.....

Dark Pit: Yeah, well, they started first, sis. So afterwards, we decided to hangout, get to each other a lot more than I thought we would at the time and then eventually, we....(Starts Blushing a Little) Decided to start a three way relationship with one another.

Ren: That's sweet and all, but...How exactly did you ended dating two of them at the same time?

Dark Pit: Well, during our time together, they both told me that had feelings for me and want me to choose between the both of them. And honestly, that was pretty much the most hardest decision I've gotten myself into in my entire life.

Makoto: Seriously?

Dark Pit: Yep. I mean...On the one hand, you got Misako, who's tough, witty, can kick ass on her own, and is pretty cool to hangout with, despite her smartass remarks. And on the other hand, you got Kyoko, who's overall cuteness could literally rival that to Kirby's. I'm not even kidding on that statement. So, instead of choosing, I made up a third option and told them that I want to date the both of them. And....to my surprise, they.... actually agree to it. But not like....right away. It was after they confessed their feelings to one another first, since they're best friends since kindergarten and everything. And after all of that, we all became a couple.

Makoto: Awww~ That's actually really sweet, Pitto-san. We're glad it worked out for you three in the end.

Dark Pit: So.....Does this mean that you approved in our relationship?

Ren: (Smiles Softly) Yeah. I mean, we have been since the moment you introduce us to them. (Chuckles Lightly) We could already tell that those two are perfect matches for you.

Makoto: (Smiles Brightly) And all it really matters to the both of us is that you three are happy with another. But, if you like, Ren-Ren and I could give you some pointers of being in a relationship.

Ren: You know, since we're a power couple and all.

Dark Pit: You mean like an old married couple?

Makoto: (Blushes Herself) S-Somthing like that.....

Dark Pit: (Sighs While Smiling a Little) Well, either way, I'm.... kinda thankful for you guys.

Ren: No thanks are necessary....(Smirks Starts Forming on his Face) Pitto-Kins.

Dark Pit: (Eyes Widened in Complete Shock Once He Heard that Nickname) What did you just call me?

Ren: Oh nothing. Just your nickname. What was it again?.....Ah. I know. Pitto-Kins.

Dark Pit: No...(Slowly Starts Glaring at Ren) No. No. Nono. No. No! We are NOT doing this right now, Ren!

Ren: Doing what? Giving you a taste of your own medicine? Need I remind you all of the times you called me "Ren-Ren"?

Dark Pit: What the hell are you.... EVERYONE CALLS YOU THAT!?

Ren: Yeah, but more or less, they have privileges to do so. You, on the other, kept calling me that out of spite.

Dark Pit: ('Groans im Annoyance') Whatever. All i know is that you, are NOT allow to call me that! Only Kyoko and sometimes Misako can do so!

Ren: You say that. But when I tell the whole gang about it at the mansion, you're gonna wish you kept it a secret sooner.

Dark Pit: (Got up Into Ren's Face) You wanna go right now, Joker Boy?

Ren: I like to see you try, you little Edgelord-

Makoto: That's enough! (Pulls her Boys Away from One Another) Both of you, no fighting on my watch, understand?

Ren/Dark Pit: (Points at One Another) But hr started it-

Makoto: (Immediately Gives the Duo the Cold, Old Fashion Niijima Glare) Boys.....

Ren/Dark Pit: (Sweating Bullets in Fear Before Sighing in Defeat) Yes, ma'am.... We're sorry.....

Makoto: (Smiles Brightly While Placing Both of her Around Ren and Dark Pit's Backs) Good. Now, how about we head back home already? I'm pretty sure everyone is wondering where we are right now.

Ren: (Shrugged) Fine by me. (Turns to Dark Pit) What do think, kid?

Dark Pit: (Shrugged) Eh. Let's go home already.
