“Dont take too long,” Weiss said, half annoyed. “We dont have time to dawdle. We have ten minutes until Blake gets back-” 

“This is going to take longer than ten minutes with the way you dress,” Ruby retorted back as she started to undo buttons as she lifted Weiss’s shirt. “Couldnt you have dressed a bit simpler?” 

“I still have an image to keep up. Besides, you’re no better with that corset of yours.” 

“All you have to do is untie it.” 

“And then wait as you take too long to put it back on.” 

Ruby rolled her eyes as she finished unbuttoning Weiss’s shirt and pulled it off. She froze as she heard footsteps walk past the door of Weiss’s office, letting out a breath she didnt realize she had been holding once she was sure everything was clear. “Maybe now is a bad idea-” 

“Its not like we have other options,” Weiss half growled as she pulled Ruby close to her by the collar, their lips nearly touching. “So we either do this now or-” 

Ruby froze again as she heard the doorknob start to jiggle as someone tried to open the door. “We’ll talk later,” she said in a hushed whisper as she buttoned up Weiss’s shirt again, before calling out. “Just a minute!” 

“You’re both going to be late!” Yang called through the door. “Do you really want to miss our flight again?” 

Ruby rushed to the door and opened it a bit with a smile to Yang. “Weiss and I just had a little business to finish before leaving.” 

“Exactly,” Weiss agreed as she finished straightening her shirt. “Need to make sure emails are forwarded to the board, making sure shipments are correct, and to have a replacement hunter on standby in case anything happens while we’re away.” 

Yang peeked into the room. “Right. Come on you two, you’re the last ones to be ready.” 

Ruby nodded and held the door open for Weiss before following the two out towards the airship. The blush finally faded from her cheeks as she made her way to Weiss’s side, fingers slowly glancing against hers. “Maybe we’ll get some time alone after we land,” she said in a hushed whisper. 

“Cant you just tell her that you like girls?” Weiss whispered back. “Or at least that you like me? Then we dont have to keep hiding this.” 

“And what exactly am I supposed to say? What if she doesnt accept this?” 

“She’s dating Nora. I’m sure she’ll be fine if you tell her you love me.” 

“You two done whispering back there?” Yang asked as she slowed down a bit. “I swear you both still act like we’re in Beacon.” 

Weiss scoffed and rolled her eyes. “We do not. Besides, its not like you’re any better. You’re still just as reckless now as you were then.” 

“I’ve gotten better. Besides, I know what I want to do with my life now.” 

“Whatever you say.” 

Ruby sighed and gently reached for Weiss’s side, slowly letting her fingers drag against the soft fabric of Weiss’s shirt as she made her way up. She gently squeezed Weiss’s breast and blushed for a bit as she pulled away when she heard a soft moan leave Weiss’s lips. 

Yang paused and looked behind her. “You okay?” 

“I-I’m fine,” Weiss said as her voice cracked a bit. “Just thought about something my mother told me.” 

“Just keep it to yourself.” 

Ruby sighed and started to fall behind a bit. This was going to be a long trip.

Ruby sighed and looked down Weiss’s shirt. “Its not that simple-” 

“Its always that simple! Just tell them!” 

“It’ll ruin both of us!” Ruby pulled away from Weiss and started to get dressed again. “If I tell Yang, then it wont be long before others find out. You’re still head of the SDC, if anyone finds out that you and I are… you know… it’ll put us both in jeopardy.”

“We both have images we have to keep up. And we cant let yours get ruined. Not now.” 

Weiss sighed and finished buttoning up her shirt. “We cant keep being scared of that.” 

“Isnt that why you wanted us to start in secret to begin with?”

“Give me time. A-a week.”

He wasn’t a good liar at the start of your relationship, and he sure as hell wasn’t one now; sitting pretty on the Slytherin’s common room sofa with his bag a few inches away from him, the flaps open after his attempts at pulling out a quill.

You’re slightly frustrated when you find him, brows furrowed as you scan your surroundings for the small tub you’ve grown so fond off. “Theo, have you seen my lip therapy?”

Theodore cocks his head at your words, feigning cluelessness as to what your ‘lip therapy’ was. “No?” He supplies, sounding unsure of himself.

You don’t really think too much of it though, this was the third time this week you’ve asked him this very question. Each time pretending as if he doesn’t know what it was you’re looking for.

You hold the small container in your hand, looking up at Theodore suspiciously to only find him looking back at you with a sheepish smile. You have half the mind to throw it at his face and call him a filthy liar while the other half of you want to shut down and take in the utter betrayal from your boyfriend’s actions. Instead, you stay calm and ask him to: “explain yourself.”

Theodore bites the corner of his cheeks, eyeing the tub in your hand carefully. “Uhm— you’ve always had it— it was always laying around, and I knew you used it so kept it for you.”

“You kept it for me?” You ask him, untrusting. Theodore nods. “Then why did you say no when I asked you if you’ve seen it.”

“Right.” You’re nodding, and he thinks he might actually get away with it. But things are never that easy, is it? “Tell me the truth or we’re through.”

Surely, you don’t mean— nope, your face is too stern for you to be bluffing. He’s shy when he answers you truthfully: “you’re always using it I just— I wanted to know why you liked it so much so I tried it and just forgot to place it back where I found it.”

“And the other two?”

“Malfoy and Zabini saw me using it and stole it for themselves,” he grunts, clearly annoyed by his friends behaviors. You laugh and he’s the one to frown now. “What?”

“Nothing,” you giggle, “you’re just cute.”

The tip of his ears singes red, cheeks heating at your words. “So you’re not mad at me?”

You laugh again, rolling your eyes playfully as you tossed the small container in his direction. He catches it with ease, eyes shifting between you and the tub. “Just mad enough to remind you that you owe me three of these little replacements.”

When you stand up, his dark eyes are still on yours; lips jutting out slightly as your warmth slips away from the sofa where you sat mere seconds ago. And when you lean down, placing a short kiss on his lips (one he was quick to return) out of pity, you can’t help but comment on how it: “seems like the stolen products were doing its job.”

How and Why?

When Mihawk had gotten with you he knew you were... odd-

The opposite of him in every way. While his hands were for killing and takinf away- yours was for life and charity. The embodiment of a Innocent Saint in his eyes- that he had in some wait tainted said innocence with his nature and desire for you.

It was hard for a killing machine like himself to gave to curve said nature when you came along. You promoting mercy, second chances and guidance for others.

It was the God damn animals that seemed to follow you everywhere!

You hum while outside- Bunnies suddently appear to shit on his lawn.

You whistle happily while gardening birds from all walks of life appear to once again shit on everything.

Goddess have mercy if you sing cause the animal kingdom appears randomly.

If he took you with him say out to a light mission or just for a vacation, suddently you'd have half the God damn forest trailing behind you and he would have to sneak a quick blade to snag a few rabbits without you noticing for a nice dinner. In fear you'd cry in knowing your abilties were being used for Mihawk to hunt dinner.

However..

Non of this mattered since he loved you, he loved you more then he had words to express and you loved him just as much- So he was willing to turn a blind eye to this all. Till the day he couldn't.

It was suppose to be a relaxed day- get some nice food, some drinks and just lounge about. Mihawk was excited for this, he had been working hard and wanted some down time.. especially with you- Stepping into the livingroom ready to shower you in attention he froze.

"What the actual hell?-" Mihawk said way louder then he ment to and seeing you turn around quickly. There in the livingroom you were on your knees petting a fully grown fucking deer that was leaning into your touch.

"You have a fully grown Doe in our livingroom- no idea were she came from and a meat locker low on venison" He tried to reason by you sat there crying and Mihawk groaned-

"Then what is your plan with it hm?" He questioned. That was what lead him outside, carrying a squirming 120 pound doe to the stables he had long since forgotten about while you set down some old hay, cut apples and nuts for feed and he releases the kicking animal into its new space.

Mihawk sighed now looking at the once empty stables of the castle now housed a doe- A Sinking feeling that this stable was going to be getting fuller..

"You are lucky I love you-" He grumbled, Hearing you giggle and jump up to kiss his cheek.

"what about her?" he asks suspiciously, already irritated because deep down, he's got his fears. Maybe you've been adopted. Then he should be happy, right?

Except he isn't.

"She's been transferred..." Hana says, sighing before she crosses her arms in front of her, a clear sign she's going to try and justify that action while also blocking his for sure incoming anger. "...to a correctional facility in Daegu."

"What the fuck?!" he loudly barks out as soon as he hears that, visibly distressed. "Do you know what they fucking do to hybrids in these shitholes?" he demands to know, fists curled tightly as hed pushed himself off the wall vehind him, walking a step towards her. "She's gonna be even more traumatized in there, good fucking job!" he scoffs.

"please, a bit more quiet-" she tries as she notices some hybrids looking. "-she's gonna be fine. They're trained in cases like hers-"

"and if she doesnt comply she will just be sent to another, and another, and a-fucking-nother! Great solution, really!" he barks out, pulling the nametag from around his neck aggressively. "I'm done participating in this bullshit."

"Jungkook-" she tries, but he's already walking.

"I've got a week left of this work and I've not taken any days off." he says grimly, turning around with angry eyes. "I'm taking them now." He growls angrily, leaving the area to go grab his things- when a young man looks at him, then at his nametag Jungkook is taking off in frustration.

"Jeon Jungkook?" The man says, standing next to him dressed in all black, a facemask covering half of his face. He looks sketchy- and has caught Jungkook during the worst time possible.

"What!?" he snarls more or less, before a letter is pushed into his hand, catching him off guard.

"You're being summoned to court." the man says. Jungkook's blood runs cold at that.

"I've done the community service shit, what the hell?" he argues, but almost weakly so- because he knows he's powerless against the legal system. If they believe he needs further, worse punishment, then he'll have to take it.

"Oh they know, it's not about that." the guy says. "Or at least, not entirely. Read it at home. I think you'll be interested in showing up." the guy almost chuckles, cat-like eyes showing his amusement over the situation.

"..huh." Jungkook doesn't say anything else, turning around to go grab his bag.

"Ah, and Jungkook-ssi." the guy calls out, making the younger man roll his eyes as he turns around. "could you borrow me some of your clothes?"

one time the two of you were doing an IHA and the topic of ants came up and you just started talking about how if ants find a rival colony they will engage in all out war in order to survive and claim the resources of the place. why did you start talking about ants? because caine conjured up an ant NPC to serve some role in the adventure

now if you have some knowledge on the digital world and its secrets and... perhaps a means of escape, then she may be more inclined to spend more time with you

RAGATHA:

sometimes she has to keep an eye on you when you guys are having an IHA, just so you dont wander off and possibly get hurt when you decide you dont much care for whats going on

"oh thats nice..! can you tell me more?" when you drop some random facts about something. imagine randomly dropping some facts about centipedes and she just. grins and tries to act casual while you have this sweet little look in your eyes

not much else to be said, i think she would indulge in your little fun facts if she thinks it will make you happy

So in the Denki Mystery au Ai's name is Akimi Tachibana and she was an orphan and lived in Akatsuka Village when she was a kid. She was childhood friends with Toshio, but when she was 10 she moved away to Tokyo with her mother, who had not been in her life after she was born up until then. 12 years later, her mother passed away, having grown very ill over the years, and 2 years after that, Akimi had gotten an internship at the news outlet that Karatsugu works at after graduating college, where she studied art history and art restoration. One day, she overhears him talking about Akatsuka Village, and asks to join him in his investigation to see if she could maybe see Toshio again after 14 years.

Later its revealed that Akimi's mother is actually a Furutsubaki No Rei, a youkai that is a furutsubaki tree (also called the rose of the winter) that sometimes takes the form of a beautiful woman. Being away from the village was what caused her to fall ill and die, but her love for her child was what kept her alive for so long before that.

i had an idea that since Akimi is half youkai (though she doesnt know it yet), she has a sort of distaste for Ozo, since she can sort of tell that theres something off about him, that being that hes the most susceptible to the influence of the village (she always says that he's going to turn into an oni if he keeps on drinking so much sake). since she and Karatsugu are co-workers, they get along well, and she finds it the easiest to confide in him. He was the first to find out that she wanted to be a painter instead of a photographer for a newspaper. she finds Chorosuke to be a bit of a self-important asshole, but she admires his work in arranging flowers. Chorosuke finds her line of work to be invasive and unnecessary, and they often get into a bit of banter over their conflict of interest when it comes to that. Akimi and Hajime connect on their love of history, and he finds her in-depth knowledge on the subject (without being esoteric about it) to be refreshing. though, he swears he's seen her somewhere before... (that painting at the library, it's almost uncanny). Toshio hadn't been expecting Akimi to ever come back to the village, so their first meeting after 14 years was a bit awkward. they had both changed so much. they found it hard to hold a conversation, but after a while, they managed to become close once again. Takashi's cafe ends up being one of Akimi's favorite places to spend time in, and she finds it the perfect place to do research. she likes to bounce ideas and theories off of Takashi, and they sometimes manage to find new leads in the investigation (Karatsugu worries that he might be out of a job, but Takashi assures him that he's not leaving the cafe any time soon. it was his father's).

since like i havent found many translations for the event stories and sets and stuff i have just filling in a lot of the blanks with ideas that i just think are cool hehe but if anybody is super knowledgeable on denki mystery pls tell me everything!!! i need to know 0_0

When you jump out the window he panics

He would be so concerned

Would definitely speed down the stairs so he could make it on time to catch you

depending on what floor your on this could go one of two ways

Let’s say your on the second floor and he does end up catching you

he would put you down then proceed to check for injuries while lecturing you like a worried mama bear

Once he see your unharmed he gonna take you to the bathroom and cuddle you to death 💗

If you do have a minor scar he will immediately treat it and the rest is the same

But if he DOESNT catch you, be prepared for the biggest lecture of your life bc he is not having any of it 💀

ok like i said i'll go over kust the brief basic stuff cuz I'm not good with words. but basically its sy dropped in pidw like, mid endgame ig, with already blackened protag and no system. so he's like, this might as well happen and goes to vibe and explore bc he's been dropped with the basic necessities to live for a bit. after some time he realizes he's in PIDW and after the initial outrage decides to capitalize on it and uses knowledge from his days spent editing the pidw wiki for fun. so he's running along having fun cataloguing things into several bestiaries and herbals (and cartography stuff etc just compiling worldbuilding) and decides to publish them with an actual success and he becomes a bit of a well-known author in the encyclopedia scene. so he's living out his best life, traveling from place to place, using his meta timeline knowledge to stay clear of the places that are plot-relevant at the time, happy to stay clear out of the path of his blackened blorbo.

that is until someone publishes a binghe biography that is so bad and so 'conquests' focused that he cant help but write his own (leaving out too personal things that he's sure lbh wouldn't want out there) under a pseudonym as a deliberate critique of the other one, which he even clearly states in the prologue of it (that the work is a disservice and disrespectful to the lord and wives alike and much more flowery vitriol, just letting his old angry commenter out)

so its published and it doesnt actually do half-bad because over the years of writing he has gotten pretty decent and that's it for a while. Until it gets to the demon lord. it gets brought to his attention by his court which takes care of notifying him of any possibly slanderous works (lbh doesn't actually care that much about stuff like that but they insist on it and its less tiresome to just let them do whatever than to keep telling them off) so they're like, there's one book, which isn't technically, a critique of the lord, but does criticise the other one which sings praises to him to all heavens so?? technically? (lbh knows of the first one but thought nothing of it bc it was mid and mostly inaccurate but again, he doesn't acre about that stuff rly) so they hand it over and he skims through it and slowly realizes that there is a lot of things that no-one or just a select few should have any idea about so, ok much more concerning than any bad portrayal of his person, even if nothing actually too-secret didn't get exposed in it. its about the principle. so he first conducts a search of his palace and his circle of people if the author is any of the people around because, who else could know about all this (trying to ignore the stuff that no-one except from him should be aware off) but it turns out with no results. so he orders his people to try to find them but the lands are vast and there's authors of plenty so of course that is also almost impossible.

what i think would be funny tho is if liu mingyan was like can I take a look/help, skimmed through it and was oh yeah I've seen this before and is able to trace it back to sy because he used unconsciously a modified phrase from his previous world that is not at all common here that he already used in one of his previous works (or maybe in an angry review of a novel, to scratch that forum commenter itch, that'd be maybe more probable for my to come across) so she notices that immediately because the first time she saw it she was left puzzled so she was sure it has to be most likely the same person again. and so bingge is set to go get his man hsdakhj

Three years spent to make it here. It was graduation day (N)(L) this thirty eight year old, versus this younger generation. Little did she know that was the day everything would change in her life.

~Back Stage The Auditorium~

*whispers*"Lets prank (N) shes too old to be a nurse much less a Doctor."

*whispers*

"Okay we like worked really hard we deserve to get in." The two young girls giggle as the guest doctor named Marco Phoenix overhears and sees that the two young girls hide (N)s diploma in the bottom rung of the podium.

~Back in the Auditorium~

The ceremony begins and then ends without (N) hearing her name. She had sworn she had gotten accepted to the number one hospital in Japan, Tokyo she did recieve the congratulations letter.

"Ladies and gentlemen it seems a prank was pulled. We have one more accepty. Please welcome (N)(L) to Kiba medical hospital along with your crew except. You two. Yoi" Marco points to the two girls who pulled the prank and continues.

"Dont be like these two (-) and (-). They deliberately were going to let one of their own suffer just to get ahead. That could have been the difference between life and death today. Yoi."

"Were very sorry" the girls respond on stage as (N) our main character walks up on stage slipping behind them along with her graduating group.

"Sorry, doesnt save lives. That is why I have decided to reject your applications to Kiba. We need doctors like (N) who want to be good doctors who do the right things not step on others. Yoi" Marco then allows the school board to continue their announcements as they agree with him to save face as everyone knows hes the number one doctor at the number one hospital in the country. The two girls go back to their seats semi crying knowing all their hard work was flushed down the toilet now they must tell their parents what they've done.

~First Day Of Training (N) POV~

You walk in to Kiba hospital after your thirty minute length trip on the train from the flatlands where your apartment is and meet up with your group.

"Allright since everyones here. Lets start with introductions. After everyone else has gone it was your turn

"Hello im (N)(L) I hope we can all be friends" you say nervously chipper for the sake of it, then the group moved from room to room as it was touring day. At a short break you go to the vending machines and grab an iced coffee. Then you see your supervisor Marco or Mr. Phoenix to you, grabs the same coffee.

"Looks like we like the same coffee. And whats that? Yoi" he points closely near your heart to you golden Phoenix feather pin on your staff lanyard.

"Oh this, it was a specialty item there were only two hundred in the world made. Its from Uno Piece the anime and manga. Mines engraved it was from my father" you say excitedly. He leans over the smallish table to show you.

"I have one too, not engraved but also the ultra rare enamel pin of him in the anime Yoi" Mr. Phoenix says.

"Oh wow thats so cool Mr. Phoenix" you say politely geeking out with him drinking coffee. After half a day you felt the urge to use the bathroom once done it seems your group has passed on. Seeing a nearby doctor you ask.

"Excuse me do you know where Group A went? I stepped out for a second now their gone." You ask politely and he nudges you two feet over to see down the hall.

"Sure you go straight then a left the straight-" right before you can react a gaint tools bucket fell from the ceiling of the hospital cracking the doctors skull but he was still breathing.

In shock but able to function you call for help while trying to keep him conscious.

"Can you hear me blink once for yes twice for no" he blinks once. Suddenly You see Mr. Phoenix running with the group.

"Stay back wait all of you! Yoi" He yells as your on your hands and knees trying to keep the doctor conscious. Mr. Phoenix runs to you and the doctor.

"(N) did you see what happened? Go to the wall and wait! Yoi" He calls on his radio for emergency code red.

"I saw what happened I was right there!" You say loudly to him. Now everythings in slow motion the doctor and the emergency team roll him away to emergency surgery. Your looking at the wall hands on top of your (C) hair while your bright purple scrubs were soaked in red blood. While all that happened, you take time to calm down breathing in and out. Once they take the doctor away Mr. Phoenix walks over to you to recount the tale.

"Are you allrigh-"

"(N) your bleeding too on your forehead. Yoi" he says.

"Most of it is his blood. It should have been me" you say lip quivering.

"What? What do you mean? Yoi" He asks.

"I came out of the bathroom asked him where the group had gone and he nudged me over from the spot that would have hit me. Then the bucket fell right where I was supposed to be. I looked up and saw the construction worker but hes gone now he was wearing overalls and a flash yellow long sleeve shirt and yellow hat." You explain.

"Listen its not your fault its like the butterfly effect things happen. Go have that bandaged up while I deal with the police. Yoi"

~After Awhile~

'So I ended up having to get stiches oh well. I wonder how that doctor is doing hopefully alive its been hours' then you hear a familiar voice.

"Gather round Group A! Yoi" Mr. Phoenix says. As everyone gathers he says

"Everyone we will convene tomorrow. (N) I need to talk with you. Yoi" as everyone leaves Mr. Phoenix goes over to you and asks.

"How are you doing? (N)? Yoi"

"What? Im fine just tired. How is he?" You say calmly.

"Their still operating on him. And well your strangely calm do you feel -,-,-,-,or -? Yoi" He asks a series of questions about being in shock to which you respond no to all.

"Why are you so calm? Yoi" he asks worriedly.

"My parents are dead and my adoptive dad is dead I grew up and saw some people die in front of me not knowing but knowing. Its just me now, its why I wanted to be a doctor one day to help people like me get and feel better at least." You long windedly say. He raises an eyebrow.

"In other words you have the experience that all these new bees dont have. Its really hard but valuable. You know Soji threw up after seeing all that blood. Yoi" he states.

"I suppose. And really? I only do that or faint when I see my own blood" You reply.

"Why dont you take a shower before heading home? Ill have Sui show you the womens showers and give you a change of clothes. Yoi" he suggests.

"Thank you Mr. Phoenix" you say respectfully.

"Please just Marco I never liked formalities. Its gonna be okay. Yoi" he finishes saying then shows you to Sui who showed you the shower then gave you new clothes.

~Six Months Later (Third) POV~

The doctor had survived but had to retire due to his injuries. (N) and Marco like to have breaks chating about the Uno Piece universe which has all different characters. Over the months (N) has developed some feelings for her supervisor but squash them because its illegal. Little did she know that he may feel the same.

~One Day At Work (N) POV~

Walking into work you felt sluggish today.

'Marco isn't in yet, strange, hes always on time' you think as you go to your station and clock in. After five minutes you spy Marco walk into the building. The same blonde hair lidded eyes and tallness. Doing paperwork for doctors you continue your pace not interfering since that would be over the line. On your break you head to the vending machine you got your normal coffee but Marco got juice.

'Strange he never got juice not once in all the time ive been here but maybe hes changing it up?' You think.

"Whatsup with the juice? Trying something new today Marco?" You politely ask as he looks at you then slowly sits at your table across from you.

"Yea decided to try something new" he replys back.

'Okay somethings off' you got the chills as you ask

"Hey wheres your pin?"

"Pen? Haha you mean this pen?" He pulls out a golden pen.

"Um no,... pin see we have match limited edition ones remember? Dont tell me you lost it?!" You say a little loudly as you hear the receptionist say

"Marco? But your right there next to (N)"

You look at his eyes and suddenly feel shaken. You hear the door open to the hospital and Marco on the phone then hung up and is now talking to the receptionist about security. As you look at Marco then flash back to the man in front of you. You couldnt move it was a deer in headlights kindave feeling.

"Your not Marco..." you say as he nods as the man clasps his hands together finishing the juice with a straw.

You could hear the real Marco calling your name to get away

"(N) get away from him Yoi" but you couldnt move the mans icey glare held you down in place.

"Sharp miss (n)" the man says quietly. Finally Marco reached you and grabbed your arm getting you to stand up as he put himself inbetween you and the man.

"Juzo what are you doing here?! Yoi" Marco asks loudly as you could hear the faintness of security Marco still holding your arm and you behind him.

"I knew you seemed too happy last visit to mom and dad. Got yourself a little bird there?" Juzo said raising an eyebrow.

"That is none of your concern im calling the police and our parents to let them know you broke the restraining order Yoi" Marco slightly yells loosing his cool causing some people to look. Marco gets his phone out and calls the police telling them the whole situation as Juzo starts walking out of the building.

"Hes leaving the building you can find him at Taizo Medical his work." Marco talks to the police.

'Taizo Medical is the second best hospital in Japan. So Marco has a twin brother?' You think as you start to put it together. After he gets off of the phone with the police he says

"(N) are you okay? Oh sorry about your arm... Yoi" he says and lets go of your arm.

"I knew something wasnt right!" You say as he raises an eyebrow

"And how did you know he wasnt me no one could ever tell us apart" He questions staring at you. You were caught. Blushing slightly you admit

"Well he got juice instead of coffee and he didnt have your pins. He didnt talk like you either. He didnt chat like we usually do. When I said pen he pulled out a golden writing pen not the Phoenix feather pin." You explain. You could see a small blush creep up on his face as he says

"Sharp as always (N) Yoi" and turns to call his parents.

"Hello father Juzo came to my hospital today and broke the agreement just thought you should know ---- yes I called the police-------allright goodbye." *click*

He turns to you and asks

"What did he say to you? Anything? Yoi"

"Um not much but I asked him about the juice and pin now he knows about the pin at least if hes a problem then here lets trade pins, mines engraved so if it happens again we can identify you" he looks shocked as you undo your pin and hold it out for him. He puts his phone away and takes his pin off and trades you. He looks at the engraving then puts it on.

"Thank you (N) ill keep it safe. Yoi" he smiles wide then chuckles putting a hand on the back of his head says

"Sorry to cause a scene Yoi"

"Its fine but I didnt know you had a twin he gave me the shivers totally not you" you say pondering. As security come up to Marco your break ends you say goodbye to Marco as hes telling the security to check his badge from now on.

~Four Months Later~

You and Marco grow somewhat closer having nicknames now due to the anime and manga Uno Piece.

Your oblivious to his advances like him saying,

"Maybe the crew should get together and eat out sometime? Yoi" but you are always polite and decline and make him fall flat. At least your following company policies but he still tries to advance regardless, trying to find out more about you. In turn you find out more about him too like how his favorite fruit is pineapple and his birthday is October fifth.

Your writing up papers as you glance up to your water bottle you swore Marco was staring at you.

'Its just my imagination theres no way anyone knows what today is for me' you drink some water and notice Marco glance at you again as you continue to do paperwork. Once break time, you head to the vending machine only to see

"Oh hey Marco your early today" you say as you put your ¥ into the machine and *clank* drops the iced coffee. You pick it up and sit across from him, you both smiling.

"For certain obvious reasons we can't light the candle but happy birthday welcome to thirty nine Yoi" he says as he also places something in front of you.

"Welcome to? What how old are you Marco?" You question quizzically.

"Me oh im forty four now Yoi" he smiles. Looking down you realize its the extremely rare main character pin from a even more limited release of Uno Piece.

"Awee I cant accept this I know how much these go for!" You say blushing as he chuckles and smiles.

"Haha I insist that way we both have two pins of him Yoi" you could see a very light blush on Marcos face as he continues smiling with lidded eyes.

"Happy birthday (N) Yoi" you look up meeting his eyes yours all sparkly

"Thank you so much Marco I suppose I can accept it then, ill take extra good care of it!" He blushes slightly drinking his coffee as he seems to try and not to blush.

'Hes so cute when he tries not to blush- wait! Hes just being friendly this is just what friends do. Hes my superior. I better get him something on his birthday too' you think as you pin the enamel pin on your lanyard.

~Two Months Later~

You and Marco are quiet fond of eachother you both have eachothers numbers now. And text out of work mainly about animes, about work, likes, dislikes etc. Over the year you went from timid and quiet to happy and peppy kindave like Marco or is it because of Marco?

~At Work~

"Allright gather round everyone! Yoi" Marco yells after our small section.

"Everyone here good. Were doing our yearly dine out and karaoke to celebrate those who have become nurses! Everyone is invited let me know whose going and whose not to make a reservation Yoi"

"Sui is a yes, Soji is a yes. What about you (N) coming out with us this time? Yoi" he asks seemingly expecting a no but you respond.

"Sure Marco sounds fun!" You smile at him making him double take chuckling.

"Well look at who bloomed over this year. You going out now excellent! Good for you. Yoi" Marco says as Sui says to you

"Yay finally (N)s coming out with us!" Sui chirps.

"Its about time (N). Allright I gotta get back to my wife and baby" Soji says.

"Okay see you all later I gotta cetch the trains goodnight everyone!" You wave to everyone and Marco seeing him with a wide smile on his face.

~Once Off The Train Viewing Your Apartment~

You see a very tall, blonde hair, man in a doctors coat.

'But Marco left after me. Does he have a car? I better call him to see' you think as you wait at the station across the street from your apartment.

*ring ring* *ring ring* *click*

"Hello (N) is everything oka-" you cut Marco off.

"Are you by chance standing at my apartment door right now Marco?" Panicked he replies.

"No call the police! And give me your address right now ill come there! Try and stay hidden. Yoi"

"Im thirty minutes away hes sure to notice me just sitting at an empty station" you say upset.

"Just send me your address now! Yoi" *click* you quickly type your address in link form so he can google maps it as you wait at the train station and call the police and explain whats going on.

'Okay the police will get here after Marco does. I just hope Juzo doesnt recognize me first' you think as you see after 18 minutes he notices you and it takes a couple minutes for him to walk over as he staggers a little. He approaches you.

"Hey there, Marcos sharp little bird~" Juzo sings as you get a whiff of booze off him.

"What do you want Juzo? Why do you smell of booze aren't you a doctor?" You question him, having no way to defend yourself.

"I want to take that happy smile off Marcos face starting with you. I lost my job due to malpractice so what? Hes always first at everything! Ever since we were children! Hes always gotten the best everything, while I was cast aside!" He grabs your wrists with his strong hands and starts pulling you to towards your apartment as you resist. He uses one hand to subdue both of your hands and pulls out a taser as you hear a fast approaching car and a screech to a stop you felt a rush of electricity in your neck as your body convulses then falls limp as you hear a car door.

~Marcos POV~

You screech the car to a stop eject the key as you see in the dimly lit parking lot a spark of electricity that is unnaturally blue. Getting out of your car you see Juzo and (n)s body fall limp as he lets her fall on the concrete of her apartment complex carpark. You chase Juzo down and tackle him punching him in the gut then hand locking him as you hear the sirens of the police. Once the police arrived you let them take Juzo as he had the weapon and you explained the situation.

~(N) POV~

You come too realizing your in an ambulance you say

"Dont take me I cant afford it!" You slightly raise your voice to the paramedics as they sigh and help you out of the ambulance. You see Marco and Juzo who, you assume is in the police car. Walking over to who you assume is Marco and the police

"Miss are you allright? Can you identify this man" the policemen ask.

"Im alive. I was tazed by Juzo Phoenix. Umm let me see your pin?" You say to the policemen and assumedly Marco takes off his pin and hands his to you. You smile at the engraving and give it back.

"He is definitely Marco Phoenix. The one in the police car is Juzo Phoenix who tazed me, hes way over the alchohol limit as well." You say as you cross your arms.

"Miss please explain everything that happened as you remember it for the record" the police say and you explain everything.

"Allright do you want to press charges miss? We can grant a rush restraining order as well due to the violence of this crime." You bite your lip as you and Marco both say at the same time

"Id/shed like to press charges Yoi" you both look at eachother then back to the policemen.

"All right fill out these forms miss (N)(L)" filling out the forms you could only think

'How much is this gonna cost me? I dont have that much saved up' After you finish filling out the paperwork they take Juzo and the ambulance away.

"Sorry about this Marco..." you suddenly burst into tears. As he immediately hugs you rubbing your back.

"Shh its not your fault (N), come on lets get you inside so you can let it out. Im just glad I got here in time. Yoi" Marco comforts you as he *beep beeps* his car locked. He side hugged you all the way to your door helped you unlock it then you slip off both your shoes and sit on the couch as Marco lets you cry into his chest, hands resting around his waist feeling his abs, until you could cry no more.

"(N) im so sorry about Juzo. I understand if you dont want to be friends anymor- yoi" you cut Marco off for once and say

"Its not your fault either your brothers an asshole! I dont wanna stop being friends I like you Marco" you blabber out as you readjust yourself and sniffle your tears seemingly have stopped as you sit up.

"Thank you for letting me cry it out" you say as you both sit there.

"I like you too (n) probably more than I should. And your very welcome. Yoi" You hear Marco whisper looking at the table in front of you both.

"Huh? What do you mean Marco?" You question him. He blushes fidgeting a bit.

"I didnt realize before that you liked me!" You say somewhat loudly blazing across what Marco had said. As you roll the sushi and top the two rolls what he asks next cetches you off gaurd completely.

"I know this isnt the right time but I wont have the balls to ask any other time. (N) will you do me the honor of being my girlfriend please? Yoi" Marco looks at you as your looking at him. You finish dinner thinking to yourself and place everything on the table. With a blushing Marco fidgeting with your couch the entire time. Then you speak.

"What about the hospital policies?" You ask as you go to look in your fridge for drinks. Marco seems to understand your hesitation and replies.

"As long at theres no PDA or going over the line at work we would be fine. After all Sojis wife is a doctor and Sojis still a practitioner nurse and they make it work. Yoi"

"Sorry theres only water and Dr. Pepper here" You ask in a statement.

"Dr. Pepper is fine thanks Yoi" he says as you grab two D.Ps and walk back around the table setting the drinks down.

"But Sojis wife works at Taizo so they dont even see eachother. Do you think we would really be okay Marco?" Before eating or drinking Marco replys with a chuckle.

"Yes it would be fine just act normal silly Yoi" you both open your cans of Dr.Pepper.

"So would you please become my girlfriend miss (N)? Yoi" he reiterated. As you ponder you finally reply

"As long as we wont get in trouble. I'd love to be your girlfriend Marco" you stare into his eyes smiling. He grows a gaint smile then hugs you under your arms as you hug around his neck smelling his scent it was musky and clean. You brush a hand through his hair as he says

"Hmm feels good Yoi" after a soild couple minutes he lets you go.

"I promise to treat your heart with the upmost care, doctors honor Yoi" he says and kisses your forehead making you blush deep red at the realization. He chuckles and says

"Itadakimasu Yoi"

"Itadakimasu" you say also as you turn on the TV to Uno Piece, and you both eat and drink. After finishing you clean up.

"Thank you very much (n) it was delicious Yoi" Marco says with a huge smile on his face.

"Oh dont you have to tell your family what happened tonight?" You ask him. He looks at you displeased but answers.

"Yea ill have to do it tomorrow. Unless Juzo allready called to complain to them drunkenly but they know im always right so its fine whenever I call. Cant believe he lost his job though cant imagine what for if hes willing to taze you Yoi"

"How are you doing by the way? We sort have gotten side tracked Yoi"

"Well im glad we got side tracked otherwise I would have never known that you liked me hehe" you giggle as he pets your head and you sit there taking it then lean on him cuddling some what. He wraps his left arm around you as you wrap your arms back around his waist and lean your head on his chest watching TV.

"This is-"

"Nice? Yoi" Marco adds cutting you off blushing deep red but so are you.

"Yea it is nice" you agree feeling slightly off about cuddleing with your superior but loving having someone to hold especially your crush.

"I have to get going in a couple hours Yoi" he says as hes rubbing your shoulder with his thumb. You get up and say

"I have to use the bathroom ill be back" he replys

"All right Yoi" he removes his arm from your side.

~Marcos POV~

Once you heard the bathroom click you looked at the prescriptions on the table in front of you where you had just ate.

'Hmm Clindamycin and Rifampin heavy antibiotics at 300mg, Vraylar 4.5mgs for MDD Major Depressive disorder or bi polar one, oh shit shes done' you try and hurry and put back the bottles but notice you put them back wrong.

'Will she notice?' *gulp*

'Thats what I get for being snoopy.' You think as you hear footsteps.

~(N) POV~

You walk back into the living room and immediately notice the prescriptions out of order. You giggle slightly and he looks at you about to say something but you cut him off.

"Shh.. what do you want to know my dear boyfriend?" You blush at the thought and he blushes hes been caught.

"I was just worried about your health seeing so many bottles." He admits.

You laugh and sit down next to him.

"How many did you get through?" You ask.

"Two...." he winces looking at your facial expressions.

"Okay well next ones Diazepam 5mg four daily for anxiety, next ones Trazodone 100mg once every night for sleep, next is Bupropion XL 150mg for depression once a day, then theres birth control which ive been on for years. The antibiotics are for Hidradenitis Suppurativa a disease which can eat away at skin and muscles and makes holes in the skin and muscles it has active and dormat phases. His beautiful stranger who he met once a century, who had skin fair like snow, and hair as dark as a raven's wing. Who wore black like he was in mourning, and wore a grand ruby around his neck.

And then, Eleanor knew only half of her husband's heart belonged to her. But she did not mind.

She bid him well the day he was to meet him, and held him as he told her how he'd gotten up and left.

"I just wanted to impress him, Ellie, show him what I've done this century." He sulked, head on her breast as she ran her fingers through his hair.

"You say he's otherworldly, not human," she started, and he hummed in agreement. "Perhaps he isn't interested in humane wealth. Perhaps you would impress him somehow else." she told him, and he'd agreed, as there was always next time.

And today, as she made her way through the marketplace, observing two tablecloths with intricate patterns chatting politely with the artisan behind them, she felt the air change around them. Like the feeling before a storm, the air went still, and she turned to see the man, matching her husband's description of His Stranger, walking with a dark skinned woman who radiated warmth, he looked rather uncomfortable. He even had the ruby. There was no doubt in her mind that it was her husband's Stranger.

She buys one of the tablecloths from the artisan and sets it in the basket she's brought along with her. Walking up to the man, who fretted at an apple his companion tried offering him.

"Excuse me, sir?" She calls, being able to get a proper look of the two as she approached. And for a second she almost thought she recognized the woman with him. But the recognition left as fast as it came, so she assumes the woman just had a familiar face.

The man turns his gaze to her, piercing blue eyes she thinks can pierce right through her, but she keeps her posture, she's been in the presence of royalty before, and can withstand the most piercing of gazes.

"..Yes?" The man replies, the deep baritone of his voice is nothing she expected, his voice was velvety smooth as if it could lull her to sleep if he so wished to.

"Pardon my rude interruption, but are you, by any chance, a friend of Robert Gadlen?" She asks, deciding to leave out his title from how little it impressed him from his and Robert's encounter just months prior.

The man's eyebrows rise slightly, and before he can answer, his companion does, smiling;

"Why yes, he is. How do you know of him?" She beams, nudging at the Stranger, who glares at her.

"He is my husband. I've heard much of you, my lord." She smiles at the two, and the Stranger watches her, a gaze that seemed to see right through her, burning in her soul.

"Why don't you go walk with her, little brother?" The woman suggests, her smile widening when he turns to her, looking almost offended that she'd suggest such a thing. She proceeds to do all but shove him and turn away, suddenly very interested in the apples they were looking at before.

"Why do you wish to speak with me, Eleanor Gadlen?" The man says, walking alongside her as she begins to move.

"Because, I know of Robert's situation, of your meetings, and he speaks of you often." She replies, in earnest.

"Does he now?" He muses. Coming to a halt at a stand selling a few books, mostly bibles, and one or another story. Printed crudely on thin paper, bound with leather covers, titles pressed onto it without any care. The corners of his mouth drop at the sight, Eleanor has seen better books nowadays, yes, but she wonders why he seems so upset at these in particular.

"He does, he is very fond of you. He was not happy with the way you left this past June 7th." The man does not look at her. "He wished to impress you, you know." She lets out a soft chuckle, remembering the words she'd told him once he got home. She could now see what he meant by 'otherworldly' there was no doubt. Anyone who saw him would think of him as such.

"I have no interest in mortal wealth."

"Exactly what I told him that day." Her husband's Stranger turns to her, his gaze undecipherable as he lets out a small hum and starts walking once more.

Eleanor takes that as approval.

"He did not seem to think about how you, an otherworldly creature, would possibly not care for objects as humans do." She smiles, her Robert, who's affections she shares with this being beside her, that her husband sees merely once a century, and only has done for three, but already loves ardently. He's not said so, yet, but she can see it in his eyes whenever he speaks of this quiet stranger.

To her surprise, the man lets out a small chuckle of his own.

"He does not seem to think much of it, he has much to learn, still."

"I'd like to say he has plenty of time for learning." She says, as they circle around the end of the marketplace, not really interested in any of the stands around, heading back toward the man's companion (sister? She'd called him a little brother).

"As long as he wishes to live, he will." He replies, a small smile now playing on his lips. "He will learn, somehow, of one thing or another."

"Hopefully he will," She does not fully understand how her husband came to achieve his immortality, nor how powerful beings as the one who walks aside her exist, but she does understand one thing, "It's incredible how much he loves life. So much to wish for to keep on living forever."

"Immortality is not for all."

"You know, I believe there are very few things he loves more than his life, and I think I know what one is."

"You?" He asks. "Your son?"

She smiles, "Possibly, yes. But not what I was going to say."

"Then what would it be?"

"You, sir."

The man stops, his brow furrowed ever so slightly, the most emotion he's shown apart from the chuckle.

"Me?" He inquires, the single word charged with so much disbelief she almost wants to comfort the man.

"You've never seen him speak of you before. He's never said it, but I know, I can see it in his eyes, he loves you."

"And you are. Not bothered by this?" He looks at her, eyes clouded with doubt.

"Hm, no. Not really" she ponders, and starts walking, the stand where the man's companion waits by coming into view. "He's bound to outlive me, I honestly have no interest in immortality as he does."

The man stays silent.

"All I ask of you is when he does," she turns to face him. "Watch him for me? I am not sure if his affections toward you are in any form reciprocated. But if they are, I wouldn't want to see him suffer by my death, or any other lover of his' death. Take care of him for me once I cannot, please?"

He looks into her eyes, for the first time, seeing her and not seeing into her.

"I will, consider. Eleanor Gadlen. You are good for him."

"Thank you, and it was lovely to be of your acquaintance and walk with you."

"Likewise, yet we will not meet again."

She nods, "I understand" she looks behind her to see the woman from before approaching, a small basket filled with apples and a few other things hanging off her elbow.

"I suppose you two will leave now?"

"Yes. We shall. Goodbye, Eleanor Gadlen."

She's barely able to wave a farewell at his familiar-faced companion before turning to find them both gone. Vanishing as if they'd never been there in the first place, no one else seems to notice their sudden absence.

She does not tell Robert of her encounter.

 

Years later, she finds herself standing beside her own bed, staring blankly at her own pale, lifeless self. Wearing nothing but a bloodied nightgown, the excruciating pain she'd been feeling only moments prior a distant memory between her legs, now. She watched Robert hold her body and howl like a wounded animal. And she was confused. She was right here, why was he crying?

"Hey there, love." A familiar voice calls from beside her, a tender hand placed on her arm. She turns to find the woman who'd accompanied her husband's Stranger those few years ago. And she knows.

"Ah." She says, "I've died, haven't I?"

"I'm afraid you have." Death replies. "Your baby had no life to begin with, so you bled out."

Eleanor feels her eyes sting. The baby she and Robert had been so excited to have. A stillborn who ended up killing her in the birthing process. And now Robert will finish raising Robyn all alone. Tears roll down their cheeks, and Death pulls her into a hug.

"Oh, love, I know… I know, it'll hurt for him. But now's your turn to rest. And Dream will look after him like you asked. Okay?" She says, soothing her blonde nest for hair that tangled from hours of writhing in pain.

"Dream?" She says, in between teary breaths. "Is that his name?"

"Yes," Death replies, pulling back and holding her hand, a sense of calmness washing over Eleanor. "It'll take a while, but he's gonna be okay."

Eleanor nods, and Death spreads her wings and takes her into the Sunless Lands.

For a very long time Nyx for some goddamn reason considered Thanatos one of her favorite golden children, so perfect and respectful 🥺 and she without fail all the time believed all of his sweet little lies and - even when time and time and time again he was caught bullying Hypnos/his siblings, surely it wasn’t ALL THE WAY his fault and she. was able to make excuses for him which of course Thanatos manipulated the hell of. Also I think she was mildly afraid of him subconsciously?? Nyx, like Seph, is absolutely delusional and just wishes all her kids would get along, nevermind the fact that some of them are trying to maul the others

His own twin brother. and you know what for that matter AND Maci, who’d essentially spent half her childhood and teenage years seeking refuge in Nyx’s house and THIS is how Nyx stands up for her??? By saying fuck the both of you I choose my piece of shit son?!?!?! after listening to HOURS of Maci and Hypnos painstakingly describe everything Thanatos had done AND WHILE THEY WERE BOTH ACTIVELY BLEEDING ON THE FLOOR THIS ENTIRE TIME FROM WHEN THANATOS HAD TRIED TO MAUL THEM AND GOTTEN CAUGHT EARLIER IN THE DAY??????

This is truly indefensible but I’m obligated to say in Nyx’s defense that yes Thanatos was manipulating her too, the second Hades and Maci had left them alone he’d turned to her like 🥺Mama help this all got so out of hand🥺; and that Nyx for the longest time thought this was being fair to ALL her children, how could she turn her back on any of them even if he’d done bad things?? but it’s like, you’ve got a little girl now. and having her in there opening all the windows and shit, replacing the curtains, it’s like, you get to live in a house again. but you also gotta live with the fucking crater, you gotta look at it all the fucking time. especially because your new little girl really likes to sit at the damn edge of it.
