3) They are a folk band with electric guitars. I swear if you made Simon and Garfunkel do the same songs in their style you wouldn’t question the lyrics being folk music (obviously not all their songs, but I’d love to hear a S&G cover of the lemon song)

This song is actually over two years old but I first listened to it after ฟ้ารักพ่อ (DILF) went viral and she came out with her debut album that included this song. But I'm pretty sure I became properly obsessed with it after hearing the RnB arrangement that (surprise surprise 🤡) ZeeNuNew performed during the DMDLand2 concert. I think Help! is a really good Album, i feel as though people say allot of it is filler based on some of the bangers that came after it, e.g. Tell me what you see and You like me too much are Brilliant, but obviously they arn't Revolver Brilliant. I also feel People Like the Vibe of Rubber Soul because its different to what came before, but i Still will stand by Help! being the album that Starts the Beatles change in the songs they make, with the transitional albums being Help! till Revolver with Rubber Soul smack in the middle. The only 2 "eh" songs on Help! are the covers which many argue shouldnt be there, and are in the wrong place, and while yes i agree "yes it is" and "im down" would probably have been better, Act naturaly isn't the worst thing in the world and Dizzy Miss Lizzy has some ok bits (But i agree probably shouldn't have gone right after Yesterday)

I do kind of wonder, at times, if We Are Number One could be considered my favorite joke on the channel. If nothing else, I do think it's the joke that's survived the longest on the channel without really growing stale. Compare it to something like The Flintstones theme, which is so overplayed on the channel that its now primarily used ironically in reference to its overplayed status - and that trend started like, five years ago at this point. There's other memes and jokes that I'm still quite fond of, some like The Nutshack feel like they ebb in and out of relevance when everyone's just about tired of them, and haven't really worn out their welcome as a result. We've been getting We Are Number One rips at a pretty steady interval since the end of Season 1, yet the team seemingly never runs out of unique ways to use its desperate pieces and instruments in. Ska Cha Cha (Rotten Mix) is but one of several excellent examples out there.

I mean, it obviously helps to start that Hideki Naganuma music already has a pretty fantastic, easily identifiable sound to it, a funky feel-good vibe with vocal samples all over the place. I've covered three We Are Number One focused rips in the past, with Chillin’ Like A Villain, We Are Number 4 (Golden) and...ahem: The expanse of meme in past was split, A fiendish trap has now been set; Behind a tree the villains sit, Terror of sport, the Robbie's Net. Now, the former two are excellent in their own right, presenting the original We Are Number One performance's full lyrics, progression and so on but with the whole new melody behind it. But the part of WANO rips that really, really grabs me, is what the latter rips hint at - full sections of the original song used play out, with instrumentation and vocal samples from WANO used to heighten the arrangement, intentions and progression of WANO be damned. In other words, when all the pretense of a mashup feel like they've been dropped, and WANO is purely being used as an instrument rather than a co-star.

And that's kind of what Ska Cha Cha (Rotten Mix) does - sure, it still features the full lyrics and singing from the original song, but it feels here like its playing second fiddle to the vocal samples, which fit Naganuma's style in the original track like a glove. From the opening "da-da-da-da-daah!!" to the ongoing "hey-hey!"s in the beat, to the absolutely devious laughter sample playing in place of the song's titular chant. Its just such an incredible fit between the two songs, and while the ska instrumentation of WANO is of course a banger when applied to anything, it really is that creative voice sample usage that cements this rip for me. All those years later, and the team are still finding new ways to use that big box of rotten-ska goodness in.

sort of getting a handle on the volume of work i have to do. ough. writing this tuesdaypost while i wait for the initial step of a simulation to finish running so i can see if what i'm doing is correct.

listening: listening to haken's fauna album again because i'm seeing them live soon (!!)

next listening (against my better judgement because you can probably figure out where i live based on it): local bar had some bands this past weekend, i missed the first group (dopplepopolis) unfortunately because i am chronically late to things that don't have consequences but allegedly they did a holst mars cover ?? which sounds fascinating and i'm so mad i missed it. the second group was alright (the lunar diamonds), pretty good stage presence and they clearly had a lot of fun but their original songs were a little forgettable to me, their cover of psycho killer WAS a banger. i'm very sad they don't have that put up on spotify. but the third group (please her). oohhhh baby. i fell a little bit in love with the lead singer, not gonna lie! i went and listened to their spotify and while some of it really doesn't hit the same as the live performance it's still very fun. she had a spray bottle full of water and was periodically spritzing the audience. at the very end she was like "welcome to church, you may be seated" and had us all sit/crouch on the floor to listen to her announcements about the band over a groovy backing track. their bassist is INSANELY good too. mans be slappin that thang. they listed their genre as "scorpion core" which i still do not understand but god bless 'em.

anyways. they have one album out right now (bandcamp / spotify) and it's worth giving a listen. favorite track: 12 @ the Party, followed closely by Fellas!. i will probably buy it next bandcamp friday.

the lunar diamonds only have one track up on spotify but it is one of their originals that i found toe-tappy: Treads

i'll have to give the band i missed a chance but it will likely not hit the same as if it were live. c'est la vie

finally, haven't finished the release radar for this week yet, but i do really love ethan bortnick. the way he meshes classical-inspired piano with the alt beats is just so fun. hide n seek

reading: next mdzs book came in from the library! truly nothing like the rush of getting the notification "your book is ready to take out" before the estimated date :3 so i'm a little ways into volume 2 now, we're in yi city, xue yang is soooo much more obviously desperate to get xiao xingchen fixed in the book than in the show. loser (affectionate)

watching: next verse same as the first. dungeonmeshi and kill la kill with boyf. the kelpie animations were really fun and also the kraken !! good shit. there are other posts that have explained this better but i love the way trigger is animating the backgrounds. as for klk, we're on ep15 now! i have forgotten sooo much of this show, nui harime showed up and i was like oh SHIT i forgot about her !! entirely!!! so it's been a really fun rewatch.

playing: ran dnd saturday and played dnd on monday! saturday dnd defeated the mdzs dancing fairy :b at some point i will probably design something that involves finding a haunted arm pointing in a direction to reuinite its body a la nie mingjue but we've got some very strong anti-undead characters in this party so that may not go over very well. monday dnd involved getting hunted by a spooky fey hyena and getting robbed by a goblin group. something something goblin microaggressions. still fun even though i was VERY sleepy by the end of it.

making: pottery that i FORGOT TO PHOTOGRAPH ... i was like "i'll take pics at open studio saturday" and then the kiln was running so, on one hand, yayyyy kiln! on the other, no pics for this tuesdaypost. so. more pics next week. i did make some hopefully-teacups for my bf, depending on how severe the shrinkage is, but these are the smallest items i've been able to make (0.5lb clay) and it's sooo much harder than i thought it would be. pics with ruler for shrinkage measuring purposes

you might catch in the first photo that the top cup has noticeably thicker walls than the others ... don't worry about it ......

eating: coconut fish and tomato bake thing that i added too much lime to by accident but still tasty... sheet pan tofu and brussel sprouts!!!! so this is an elite one, adding to the arsenal. literally just halve the sprouts and cube the tofu, drizzle w olive oil and salt and peppy, roast at 450 til its. done. whenever. while that's roasting make rice. the sauce is 1:1 ratio of tahini to hoisin sauce with minced garlic to taste. it is To Die For and SO easy. last night roommate made turkey meatballs with couscous and even though the couscous burned just a little bit it was still yummy!

misc: turns out ... if your body wants ~9 hours of sleep a night but you make it live off of 7 for weeks on end ....... eventually you will get sick LOL. probably partly alcohol ibs stuff but still. sunday was a total wash for me and i went to bed at 10pm and felt normal monday morning. so. i need to just be going to bed earlier (pain). work this week not as terrible at least. i am doing my shit that i need to be doing and it's going okay! which is good because i'm calling it an early week kinda for that concert hehe. oh valentines day! boyf got me a little leatherman multitool keychain and it's so cute and i love it, and i got him a bird scope phone holder so he can take bird photos easier!!!

Concert 5 is in the books for this year. Probably will be my last one for the year too. Tonight, well Friday night, it was Emo Orchestra with Hawthorne Heights.

The concert was a wonderful look at the makings of the band before they got signed. Each cover song, or emo hit, had a connection to them whether it be feeling like a poser for not knowing there were 2 albums before the banger you discovered or wise words of encouragement to keep touring.

And the orchestra was phenomenal. They performed one song without Hawthorne Heights, because as they put it, they weren't touching that legend. It truly was a glorious thing to witness -even with an 8-ish hour round trip.

But 15 year old me is screaming inside. I loved Hawthorne Heights since I was 13 and obviously still do. What made all of this even better was seeing Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights, and The All-American Rejects this year, 17 years after the first time I saw them all play at the "Black Clouds and Underdogs Tour".

This year, I made a dream come true and it was wonderful.

1) Describe one creative WIP project you’re planning to work on over the summer.

Just one? Well shit, that's tough. I have so many ideas percolating in my noodle, both in terms of writing and art.

Let's see...aside from my current ongoing march of ESO fic which is very likely to continue through the rest of the year, I do have a cyberpunk novel I've been wanting to continue working on. It's currently titled Ars Voltaica, and it's set in Detroit about a hundred years from now. It's about a young woman fresh out of college who gets into a corporate sponsored debt relief program in which she has to sign a contract to work in the data entry department of said corporation for five years and also live entirely on their campus. While she's there, she becomes privy to some information she shouldn't know and oops! suddenly she has to flee for her life. And that's just the beginning! There's a lot of stuff to do with androids in there. One of the central characters, the personal assistant of the corporate boss, is an android, and he's got wild shit going on with him. A lot of my motivation for this story comes out of me being mightily salty about how bad Detroit: Become Human is lol.

Anyway! In terms of art, the main thing on the docket is doing the final player character portrait for my DnD group. He's a Fallen Aasimar Conquest Paladin who's getting his holy power from Bane but doesn't realize it yet. He's played by my friend Jim.

Aw shit I'm not the reader I used to be, and unfortunately I've disliked more of the books I've read lately than I've liked. I can always go back to reccing the Starlight & Shadows trilogy by Elaine Cunningham for the DnD novel inclined who want to read about a drow other than Drizzt or Jarlaxle who is also a lady. The story actually explains why drow magic works on the surface when it didn't used to. Also a good series if you're a fan of fancy wizard/scruffy barbarian romances.

Once again, I'm not the reader I used to be, but every now and again, when I'm thinking about my love for Perc'ahlia from Campaign 1 of Critical Role, I remember AFK: a critrole MMO AU and how fucking good it was, both in concept and execution. The premise is that the characters are living in the modern world and all know each other through playing an MMO together.

Kill the Alarm's album Fire Away is nothing but bangers (especially the title song) and tastes of distilled 2008 to me. Been listening to those songs for a looooong time.

5) Share one piece of advice!

Let me share a writing secret from your friendly neighbourhood linguist: in fiction, grammar is your bitch, and anyone who tells you different is trying to sell something. Obviously it's good to know grammar rules, and a certain amount of obeying those rules is necessary for coherent and clear communication, but everything after that is fair game. You can have your characters speak in run-on sentences, because people do that all the time in real life, and it doesn't even always sound awkward. You. Can. Put. Periods. In. Improper. Places. You know why? Because bending and breaking the rules can convey something that following the rules can't. Think of the way people convey tone and cadence in their posts online or in texts. You can totally do some of those tricks in your writing to get the vibe you want, especially in dialogue.

Related: "don't split your infinitives" and "never end a sentence with a preposition" are fake rules literally made up by some asshole scholars during the Renaissance because they thought English needed to be more like Latin. Don't pay any mind to that shit. You can quote me on that.

If it was up to me, we would get an autumn or winter EP. Since it’s not up to me at all, here, enjoy this post with everything we know so far of LT2, which is to say, not much at all. Everything here is hypothetical. I’ll be updating every time I see something relevant. A little disclaimer that while this is a masterpost (kinda), it could be read as discourse (duh, it’s also a theory), AND it’s also by me, and you shouldn’t expect me to be serious at this point.

Due to me restraining myself, there’s no reference to any of the times he’s mentioned his guitar skills and him improving but I hope you know I cried every single time.

Friday 28th of January 2022. Almost two years after Walls. It’s a Friday. It’s a 28th. What else can I say?

2020

He said back on May 2th 2020 he wasn’t writing anything new yet.

Interestingly enough, he’s said many times after that that the album’s not ready cause he has no new experiences to drawn from. I won’t call him out because he does it himself.

May 4th. He liked a tweet from DMA’s Johnny Took saying they had to go write together again. Louis has been credited as an influence for them and (kind of) participated in their previous record, so I’m assuming he meant for their music and not his, but you never know.

Nothing(literally nothing??? how did we survive) until 11th of July. We all know what happened that day. We all celebrated it. Nonetheless, that’s not what I’m talking about here.

(x) So, by the beginning of July 2020 he was working on concepts and ideas for the new album. That was fifteen months ago. I know perfection takes time but…

Brief summary of important things that happened from then until the next mention of new music:

Louis left Syco!!!! 10 days later he rescheduled the tour for the first time. He followed Matt Vines on Twitter, probably so we could publicly shame him into doing something. Also, the 10thanniversary. He followed more people I wish he hadn’t.

Then more nothing until September. Not even a single tweet. The first merch drop was on the 28th of August but he just RT’ed the tweet. He first mentioned Free my Meal on the 25th of September. Then on October 1st Walls hit #1 on a lot of countries and Louis was incredibly happy and excited about it ^^

And then, that same day, October 1st, 2020, he dropped this bomb:

And, obviously, this tweet which is actually what made me start this whole post. I would hope you know mate.

He also told us he was cooking "banger after banger" and that he was incorporating more social themes into his music (x)(x) (I believe any social issue is a political issue but that’s not the point rn).

COPY OF A COPY OF A COPY?!?!

These next paragraphs are brought to you by my mind not remembering things and me not having any links. I’m assuming COACOAC came from those writing sessions that supposedly happened in October. Or in LA but I have no idea if he actually was in LA at any point other than a Daily Mail article putting him there on December which would have been too late, but I do remember that someone said he was in the studio in LA last autumn???? A rumor. Maybe. IDK. Did I mention already all of this is very hypothetical?? Well, this is it. I can’t even remember if this was October or November or what. So, take this with a grain of salt.

I’m also… taking the liberty to assume, if you must, that Copy wasn’t meant to be a Walls reject because it sounds more mature and darker and it has a vastly different tone that Walls songs. I know he’s said that song probably isn’t getting into the album, but I want to have faith (in the future) that I’m getting a studio version. (But also, Louis, if you’re reading this, first of all GET OUT OF MY BLOG second of all, please don’t ever feel pressured again to add a song to the album because we have already heard it before. It’s your art and it should always be under your own terms).

So yeah, I believe that Copy is either one of those four songs (then imagine the other three??!!) or was written around the 1st of October date.

Then not much important (other than sharing more about Marcus Rashford fight against food poverty and the 2nd merch drop) until he announced the livestream on the 24th of November. (x)

It wasn’t until a few days before the livestream date we even thought again about new music (jk, I know we’re always thinking about new Louis’ music). So, December 9th/10th, 2020. Nine months ago. We got our first taste of new music!

2021

Another Summary: Louis third tweet of the year was telling the UK government off. So was the fifth. What a good beginning. On the 26th of January, he said he prefers pancakes over waffles. I hope he meant pancakes other than his own. More importantly, he tweeted the infamous “you lot read into things too much”. Don’t get me started, Tomlinson. Don’t. Then the 31st came around and Walls was one. He tweeted this. How wise. And Project Defenceless happened!!

15th of February!! Who cares about Valentine Day when the next day we got this? ♥

So…AN EP?? AN EP?? PLEASE RELEASE AN EP.

“I’m sure I will have something out this year but unlikely that will be the album”. Unlikely but not impossible. Also. A single would be good. This is the second time he mentions releasing something in 2021 and he sounds surer about it than the first time around.

He also said that he isn’t sure we will get a studio version of Copy. And that the best bridges from Walls to LT2 are Walls, OTB, KMM and Copy. Can’t wait!

Then we jump to March 6th when he announced he was going to create his own management company. “Sometimes action is needed first to encourage the motivation and belief”. As we can tell he was already manifesting some stuff which will lead us to the numerology stuff/Tesla… kidding. Or not. We might never know.

On the 22nd of March he answered some questions:

On the 25th he left for Mexico until April 10th. You could assume it was just for the documentary where we got ten seconds of footage or admit the obvious: LT2 its a Mexican baby!!

On the 26th (so, not so far apart from that first 369) we got the first Faith in the Future mention: (x)

Back then we were innocent people who had no idea what was coming upon us. We still have no idea because what the fuck does he mean with these. Please explain. I have one braincell and I don’t use it enough for this. I’m linking some theories.

On the 30th of March he confirmed he was already working on the documentary. So AFHF was already on the works. Will it take this long for us to get the Veeps numbers? We also got this tweet: "Got a decent chorus idea down" (x).

Same person that got the “something out this year” exclusive. If you know something share with the class. Also. Is this Change? I feel like this could be Change but I also assume he wrote Change after hanging out with his friends or being in Doncaster. But who knows.

On the 19th of April he announced that he had something BIG for us later on the year which turned out to be the Away From Home Festival ♥♥ (x) I love him so much.

Then on the 28th he announced the 369 merch drop (which it’s probably the Walls drop? Except that the TOU and KMM ones were “drop 1 and drop 2” and this was drop 369 which, again, makes no sense) but we still don’t know what 369 means.

Into May’ 21 we go.

He rescheduled tour again. And dropped another bomb (x).

He announced he has signed with BMG as an independent artist by RTing this tweet on May 10th. The article also says that he’s already working on writing and recording LT2. The timing… we don’t know. What this deal involves… we don’t know either. Bear with me here because I have a lot to say about this.

I think the deal is only a distribution one, but that BMG are interested in Louis and what he (us) could bring to the table. They were either present at the festival or watching it, but officially they had no involvement at all with it (everything is credited either to Louis own company, 78 Productions, or Charlie Lightening’s company). That’s the case for both giveaways too; the vinyl one and the tickets for the festival.

I think it would be an unbelievably bad move not to test the waters with BMG now or soon-ish. At least a single, to see how it performs. Due to the circumstances, it’s obvious there’re certain limitations on place but I want to see how they push it, whether the radio play exist this time around and if the song is playlisted and promoted and all that… I would also love to know, since it says he signed with BMG UK, but it also states it’s a global deal, how things are going to go on the US and other countries.

Yes, yes. I know those are all questions and no answers. But I know the same as you, sadly. If any of you know more than you’re letting on… again, share with the class.

Where was I? Yes, on the 25th of May Louis had a great day writing (x). Since the first time he had mentioned he was officially writing to this date there’s almost eight months. And I believe he was writing before October’ 20.

He followed Robert Harvey that day and, on the 28th of May (why is it always the 28th???) he was spotted at the studio for the first time.

June was an interesting month for the fandom ♥. Lots of LHL content which I will love and cherish for the rest of times. On June 4th, June 9th, and June 10th he was spotted at the studio, but I believe he was there more days.

This was posted on June 6th and captioned Studio. Charlie also shared it with “Mega tunes being put down, can’t wait for this @louist91 #louistomlinson #LT2” as the caption. This gives me 2019 (Elton-Joint) vibes. I like it. Feels like we’re getting closer to something.

He added the Milano date on the 9th too which I’m mentioning because I’m going alone. Anyone wanna go with me please? I’m nice and I never eat anything before a concert so you can have my food. On other news. It didn’t come home.

During July he was at the studio at least three days too. Probably more. Feels like more with all the fan pictures we got. Or was that June? Anyway, July 1st and 9th we got some videos from Robert Harvey and wearesuperhi, which is who Louis has been working with the most, that we know of. I don’t know for sure they’re from that day. And on July 5th we got an article and lots of pictures of Louis looking really good outside the studio.

On the 12th of July the first fans started getting the free, 369 bucket hat and print. We still don’t know what the purpose was other than to thanks fans. Maybe that was it. I want answers and I still think it relates to a future project (see theories above), but it could also just be a bridge with the Walls breaking.

He didn’t tweet about anything interesting for a while, mostly because he lost his phone (he either throwed it in the air or smashed it who knows). Then on the 29th of July he announced the festival!

I’m glossing over it because there’s already been a lot of talk about it (rightfully) and while it was a wonderful thing, it doesn’t have much to do with LT2.

Let’s talk Change!

On August 3rd he tweeted this about the setlist.

We didn’t get it, obviously. Because who was going to get that. But we read too much into things. Alright.

On the 16thof August Dave Gibson shared this post tagged #LT2 with the eyes emojis 👀👀👀. I believe this has to do both with Change but also with whatever else came out of that Mexico trip.

So, on the 30th of August we got Change and we cried, and we know that Change is going in the new album. He said it. With those exact words. He also said he was “getting a feeling for it”. This has to meant he already has a general idea of the vibe of the new album and what’s going in it!!!!!! (Right? RIGHT?).

Anyway, let’s go back a few weeks because some other things happened on August. He was at the studio a few more times. Or it was suggested that he was there. On the 17th and the 18th. (Why was it so time-pressing to be at the studio instead of rehearsing for the festival? There was no studio at all on the documentary. Which makes sense, but again, then why?).

On the day of the festival we got another mention of Faith in The Future that made me feel part of a cult ngl. The words were flashing on the screen for less than a second. Okay.

And then he tweeted those words again after watching the livestream/documentary on the 4th of September (x). This is what makes me suspect it's either the name of the album or of the single.

On the same day, we got some interesting quotes about LT2 on the documentary.

“Soon I’ll have to think about me second album, which in my head I’ll get the tour out of the way and then I’ll address that. So, I hadn’t really given it much thought, to be honest”.

“When every day is the same is hard to feel creative and it’s hard to have any kind of proper inspiration”.

“As season started to come back, I started writing again and it was great and some of these songs turned out alright”.

And I think this is it. I might be overlooking some important details but that’s what we know and what we don’t know.

So. Conclusions. That’s what you missed on Glee. I do believe the album is, if not mostly done, partially there. And yes, this post is pointless and never-ending but it’s all in here if you need to tell Louis “Hey, you said this, mate”.

First Impressions on ADIAML New Songs

Happy Loner - huh guess I never mentioned this on my blog before. I adore this song. The lyrics, production and melody all come together so well. I’m very glad Marina chose to release it. This is one of a very small number of her songs that genuinely resonates with me and I relate to, and I can’t get enough of it. I think I cried the first time I heard it.

Pink Convertible - I saw some people complaining about this one and I’m kinda surprised? I really love it. I assume part of the reason it was left off the album initially is that it was written before the pandemic (whew! incredible foresight lol) but if you don’t have that context it can come across as privileged to a fault. I mean obviously the narrator (Marina) does not actually believe that everything will be fine and that’s kinda the point. She’s romanticizing this carefree mindset of the wealthy elite while accentuating how they are contributing to current issues like the environmental crisis etc and mocking the flaws of this outlook. I like how it feels float-y, kinda reflects the ungrounded aspect of the lyrics. I enjoy this one a lot.

Free Woman - Darn this song is also incredible. The chorus is fine, though there’s nothing stand out about it imo, and it kind of reminds me of the chorus for Cruel Rule. Maybe parts of Cruel Rule were repurposed after it was leaked? But. THE VERSES??? Holy shit insane. Especially the second verse my gosh. What a banger.

All in all I love all the bonus tracks! Better than some of the original album lol. I do think these three songs contribute to the cohesive theme of ADIAML well. While I can appreciate the original album as juxtaposing societal change with interpersonal change I think the album would have been more cohesive if these songs were on it from the get go, and 2 songs from the second half-ish, instead of 5 breakup songs (I actually like all of those songs, and I admit they cover different emotions in a breakup, but it began to feel repetitive.) With the other songs on the deluxe. That being said I’m glad we got to hear these at all! I like all of them quite a bit.

I made my own K-pop Supergroup (female)

So this has been on my mind for a long time really - I think it would be so coOL if this actually happened.

 I mean, remember the Wow Thing collab? Yeah, I wish that was a permanent thing too. In this post I’m gonna take you through the lineup, give the group a name, and also maybe give them a debut album

Before I start, I want to introduce the group's concept. I kinda want my group to be versatile and they should be able to pull off many concepts. I would describe their main concept as "Girl Crush and Badass". I also want it to be very aesthetic and appealing to the eyes. Through their songs, this group conveys messages such as Self-Confidence, Female power, etc.

Group Profile~

Group Name : Meraki

So since I want these girls to show themselves through their music, and inspire people, regardless of age and gender, I think this name works really well. It means that they pour their heart and soul into their work, for their fans. 

Fandom Name : Elysian(s) [nick-name : Elise(s)]

[(adj.) Beautiful and creative; Peaceful and perfect; divinely inspired]

In the eyes of the group, their fans are beautiful, perfect people, just as they are. This ties together with the overall message they share, and I though “Elysians” would be a good word for the fandom name. I think they would give it a shorter form or a nick-name, like “Elise” [pronounced “el-ees-ay”, or however you like it].

Taeyeon ('89) - Leader, Lead Vocalist, Visual

I want Taeyeon to be the leader, simply because she already has experience, plus, she's the oldest. She's gonna be our Lead vocalist, because, well, she has a beautiful, soulful, golden voice, that can convey a lot of emotions. Plus, I think Taeng can fit the badass concept well, like, I wanna see more of the Taeyeon from the Something New MV.

Amber ('92) - Main Rapper, Vocalist, Visual

Amber's a total badass, breaking the grounds of gender differences. Other than that, Amber is a really good rapper, she can make her voice low and husky, which is what I'm looking for. She also has such charming vocals, like they are so soothing. She's also fluent in English, which helps if the group is promoting overseas. 

Jiwoo ('96) - Lead Dancer, Rapper, Vocalist, Visual

I decided to add Jiwoo because she is made for this concept. Her singing voice is quite husky, and I really like the vibe it gives. She's also such a good rapper, she adds some rasp, and makes it really low so that's super cool. She's a great dancer, like her moves have so much swag and she kind of adjusts her dancing style to match the vibe of the song.

Dami ('97) - Lead Rapper, Dancer, Vocalist, Visual

I think Dami really fits the badass concept, she has a really string image, and her rap is fire. So obviously, she is our group's lead rapper. She has this amazing, hot husky voice that really fits the badass part. Nevertheless, Dami also has really nice, somewhat breathy vocals, with a very interesting timbre, and I'd definitely like to hear more and more of that.

Jamie ('97) - Main Vocalist, Dancer, Visual, Sub-Rapper

Okay, first, STAN JAMIE. Anyways, she has such angelic vocals, that are honestly so rich. But the girl can make it seductive and raspy, like she can GROWL. I think she's got some really good moves too. She could totally fit in the badass vibe, like, check her out on the show "Good Girl". Jamie's a fluent English speaker as well, so she's a part of the English line too hehe.

Soojin ('98) - Main Dancer, Vocalist, Visual, Maknae

To start with, Soojin is a really good dancer and I want her to be the group's main dancer. She has a unique style, and I think her visual fits the Girl Crush concept very well (what I mean is, she's hella hot). About her vocals, I think they're SUPER underrated. They're quite gentle and high, which I think will add some contrast to the songs.

Now that we’ve seen the members, I want to show you the album they’re gonna put out. It has a total of 8 tracks, and the title track will be “ME” (originally by CLC), because this song exudes self-confidence and self-love, which is exactly the concept I want these girls to have. Plus, the song is a banger, it’s perfect for a debut track :)

So for their mv, I’m thinking of a dark concept, showing feminine power. Kind of like a mafia vibe, except it’s run by strong, powerful, women lol. It shows a story, of how the girls unite to become one strong force, together overcoming the hardships they’ve gone through alone, in this world of harsh standards. They learn to love themselves and share the same message to their viewers and fans, through the lyrics. I made a mood board so you can get the picture [at least I tried to, sorry if it looks bad hehe].

So that’s it :) I put a lot of thought into this, and I made sure I don’t include two members from the same group. Tell me what you think about it, and also feel free to send in requests (lowkey asking you for ideas here). I might also continue this, maybe a boy-group version, idk :/

From The Shad​-​slows (Plains of Des​-​passing​-​tú)

Season 4 Episode 2 Featured on: SiIvaGunner's Highest Quality Rips: Volume for Wii U

Ripped by UUN4

Exactly one week ago, I covered what I believe to be one of the most legendary rips in the channel's life - Plains of Des-passing-to. In that post, I tried to explain just what makes Despacito such a fun source for SiIvaGunner to use - that its overexposure paired with its genuine good qualities as a catchy tune makes it something every SiIva viewer will immediately recognize and begrudgingly vibe to. Paired with the infectiously fun instrumentation and overall style of Shovel Knight, it resulted in a banger many still return to frequently.

Two years later, though, UUN4 would return to that very same concept for a rip and make what's effectively its direct sequel. In the same way that From the Shadows sought to reimagine the original Strike the Earth! into a more sombre, melancholic piece, From The Shad​-​slows (Plains of Des​-​passing​-​tú) takes a similar approach to the original Despacito arrangement. Its slower, moodier, almost atmospheric in a way, despite still using Famitracker and a lot of similar instruments as its base and despite still, yknow, being Despacito of all songs. Yet it follows through on its concept from start to finish and is, just like the original From the Shadows, in my opinion a much more interesting listen - even though the original in this case was already one of the most fun listens on SiIva. Every note placed is perfect, every cue from the original rerendition is translated in such a purely authentic way - its all so good and so natural, its as if it was produced right alongside the original rip back in Season 3.

My affection may also be in due part to how recently I discovered this arrangement: the original track sits at close to 200 thousand views, wheras this sits at barely over 25 thousand. Its not a rip I see shared around nearly enough given its quality, and I'm hoping this shoutout will do it at least a little bit of justice.

Quality of From The Shad​-​slows (Plains of Des​-​passing​-​tú) aside, it plays into a part of SiIvaGunner that I really do love - that these kinds of becks and calls even exist within the channel to begin with. It wasn't as if Plains of Des-passing-to was a momentous occasion in the channel's life that would therefor obviously be paid tribute to in the future - UUN4 simply realized on his own how fun it would be to expand upon a joke he told amidst hundreds of others during Season 3. The deeper you go into SiIvaGunner, and indeed the deeper you'll go on this blog, the more fascinating examples like this you'll find on the channel - rips paying tribute to one another despite releasing several years apart, and despite sometimes not even being as popular as Plains of Des-passing-to was.

amy hiii [spidey meme] how are u doing!! what's some new music u've been listening to? i checked out 2 rlly good albums recently, "you signed up for this" by maisie peters and "collapsed in sunbeams" by arlo parks. also!! i'm rlly obsessed with a cover of "my my hey hey" by the chromatics right now. and equally to, if not more than, the song i'm in love with the cover art of the album it's from. here, take a look:

i'm not quite sure why i like it so much, but i distinctly remember thinking for a long time that it was a painting?? and then i looked at it closely very recently and realised that oh :0 it's a photograph! i LOVE the red-pink light effects (leaks?) in it!! what do u think?? alsoo what's some art that's caught ur eye recently? hope u have a great day and december!! <33

Apologiiiies for the rather belated(tm) answer! It's so cool that you mention Maisie and Arlo Parks because I had some songs by them on my rotation recently! "Trying (Not Friends)" is suuch a banger, 2019 heartbroken me would have RUN that shit into the ground. I personally have been listening to "Bad Karma" by Miley Cyrus a lot (hiii @kaylor <3) after listening to Miley's Zane Lowe interview that I thought was really cool. The rest of my current rotation is... the usual tbh, but I will probably get into the Christmas music swing soon. And I REALLY dig the album cover! (And of course the Neil Young/Kurt Cobain reference in the title) It's giving me my "Long Lost" redesign vibes; just like you, I am obsessssssed with the red and pink. Such a lovely effect! Sadly, I can't really think of anything visual that inspired me lately :/ there is a ~vibe~ I am thinking about for a possible Lover redesign but we shall see. And I started watching euphoria which obviously looks cool but uhh many thoughts on that show.
