so i’ve been kinda existing and looking at your work for quite some time. ever since the hikari yo flipnote back on sudo in i think it was 2017? and ever since i was hooked on your artwork and your animations. learning about hotarubitale and how someone was just making these things and having fun was so inspiring to me.

unfortunately i was kind of out of the undertale fandom at that time and i sort of just had you as an artist i liked to look at every now and again… and then you started getting back into errink and with that i discovered rsp and treehouse and i slowly started to look at your works again. rsp actually helped me process something in my life that i realized was a really shit situation… and i got out of it. treehouse has slowly been becoming a cute comfort to me as well. the cutlery animatic helped me process things in my life. i really loved how you explored niji’s grief in it and it was such a unique take on ink and RAAH!!

now i’m back at your blog, rereading rsp, rereading hotarubitale, looking at your art or your fun reblogs every now and it. just made me rediscover a lot of the joy i had in the undertale and by extension underverse lore again. all the things that you do to talk about your favorite little sanses and of course gin has made me really happy again? your art has inspired me and has taught me “it’s okay to draw the shit you like because someone’s gonna love it.”

when you reblogged your old comic about niji seeing hotarubitale again it sparked me to revisit my old aus i made when i was 12.., and now i’m recreating it, having fun, and im being a little goober imagining ink being all happy to see those dumb names getting a brand new fresh banger coat of paint

Incredibly silly and only fits with the lore bc we have -1 information on these guys but: headcanon that the original protectobot in animated are the one from g1, hotspot, streetwise, blades, first aid and groove. The idea that those nice helpful dudes specifically accidentally caused the events that snowballed into the autobots being like that^tm during the events of animated. They're remembered as like, 5d chess geniuses but the truth is they just stumbled their way into a coup and all that.

Canon First aid was named after a well known historical figure, who would be rolling in his smelter to know what the autobots have become

okokok so I know I meme on the radiance and the pale king a lot, but I'm also kinda going "god damn what a terrible situation to be in" at all parties. Mb its just cause I haven't read the lore in a hot minute, time span? I'm having 4 am thoughts don't mind me. This may not even make sense in the morning lmao. just enjoy the ramblings if ya want yall

anyways, To have an entire group of people completely abandon one god in favor of another in such a short timespan? well usually that happens cause of stuff like genocide or cultural genocide. And maybe I just happened to miss it, but I don't think that happened in hallownest. But maybe it did and maybe thats why radiance got so fuckin mad. Or maybe the moths just slowly drifted away towards PK, which can happen over generations. But it also sort of seems like. self destructive ig. Radi destroying the people of any neighboring kingdom because she's *furious* man. so upset, and angry, and lonely even. Like, imagine being a very powerful individual with a very loyal fan base only for some weird ass fork looking thing to steal that fan base away from you. Well, more like a kingdom but ig fanbase may be the online equivalent. But here comes some fuckoff weird fork lookin man, steals your look, steals your people, and then fucks off. AND. Also stole folk away from some other nearby local gods? the fucks up with that?? fuck you actually PK. I'm gonna idk, wipe out ur cities. that's pretty reasonable for a god's reaction right?

"hold on hades, she also targeted others who weren't aligned with PK. Why would radi target them? weren't they hurt by the PK's actions?" Yes great question invisible audience. But here's the thing, people don't react reasonably all the time. Radi basically lost everything. Her people started drifting away from her until there was one singular old moth left who still seemed to care about her still. And they were alone. Her and her singular moth follower were oh so painfully alone, with nothing but ghosts to keep them company.

So she lashes out. Ignoring the fact that causing a massive plague is generally extreme cause she's a god, we can still recognize that she is very deeply hurt, upset, and angry. And normal people when hurt, upset, and angry, don't usually think clearly. They tend to say things that hurt people, or sound agressive, or even be agressive. Some people may isolate even, though different people do different things. Radi's reaction was to lash out in a way that hurt anyone around them.

"ok, but what does this have to do with places like Greenpath or Deepnest?" GREAT question invisible audience. Sometimes people react to things that are associated with a certain topic with the same reaction as the certain topic. There are certain songs I disliked until I saw a really cool video go along with it, which made me like the song. The brain is weird like that, and likes to categorize things (even if we don't recognize it as categorizing). Add in a "me vs them" mentality and it only gets worse. That is likely what happened here. Radi gets pissed off at PK, and likely also at the white lady. Well, the white lady has control over greenpath now, unlike Unn, so fuck the greenpath too cause that's technically part of PK's domain. WELL he *also* has an alliance with the mantis tribe, and control over the mushroom tribe. So fuck them too.

Maybe Deepnest would have been safe if Herrah and PK didn't have their deal, but they did, and now Deepnest is terrible too for siding with PK. Maybe the hive or outer edges would have been safe, but the colluseum houses itself in a wyrm's body. And maybe at that point, radi was certain that it was her vs the world, so she *had* to protect herself/defend her honor.

"well didn't the PK deserve all that?" I mean, if you look at it from Radi's perspective sure! but what about PK's perspective? He starts up a pretty cool kingdom, has a lovely wife, is well loved by his subjects, and Radi's followers stsrt deciding to follow him. He can't control that, though he could certainly try to discourage it. He tried being friendly, though perhaps it is in his nature to want to consume all he can. To control as much as possible, to become the bigger enemy. Perhaps he and radi just fuckin. Poofed up at each other like chickens do and instead of anyone going "hey man, whats goin on? maybe we can figure this out with our words" they just keep poofing up at each other, mad at the other for different reasons.

So his people start getting sick with this religious disease caused by what's clearly a rival God. So he tries to figure out the source, and to find solutions with the least drastic measures. But it slowly builds to more and more desperate attempts until he discovers the void, something very opposite of what he and the radiance is. So he casts the children of him and WL into the void, and waits. Because *surely* this will work. a container to hold this fucker in. Trains up this container so they're really good at being a container. Well, the container is leaky and he doesn't realize until it's too late. The infection comes back, and he loses everything he once had, just like Radi did.

I think messing with the void might have led to his death, just like it does with Radi, just maybe less aggressively. Both were so desperate to try and maintain something that was never going to last, only to be consumed by what's nearly a literal definition of an end.

Maybe if they would've just talked, they would still be around with thriving communities. Maybe they would have been friends, or akin to siblings maybe. Perhaps PK and WL would have had children, and deepnest may have slowly crumbled apart from not having an heir of royal blood. Maybe Unn would regain their strength and join the other gods. Who knows what the possibilities could have been.

It's a shame, though, knowing such a connection could never happen.

Do you know if Ghost gave himself the callsign or is it was someone else. I've been thinking and idk if he particularly cares for the name. Or perhaps its a weird relationship with it, but its better than to use his real name?? I was thinking back to the scene where Ghost and Soap meet Alejandro and Soap goes to almost correct Alejandro when he calls Ghost, Ghost, because thats what Laswell said. I think Soap was going to say that Ghost perhaps prefers to be called Simon. Price and Soap are the only ones to call him Simon to his face and Riley is never really said. Even the scene from the 2019 reboot game where Laswell and Price are going over the folders for the 141 candidates, everyone else has their callsign along with their names, except for Simon. His folder has no picture and it just says Simon Riley. Very intriguing.

Anyways sorry for the long paragraph, I just had many thoughts and had no idea where to put them. Feel free to let me shout into the void lol, I don't mind :).

The lore we know behind Ghost's callsign is that, via the comics - he fakes his death after taking out Roba and after the death of his mother, brother, and his brother's family (wife and child, his sister-in-law & his nephew). He's found by Shepherd (2009)/Price (2022), and joins back the military, under the callsign Ghost, considering the government believes that Simon Riley is dead.

That considered, I think he definitely has a weird relationship with it?? Because he took up the name Ghost to hide his identity since the government thinks he's fucking dead. He's living as a ghost by all means, so it makes sense for him to enjoy the freedom it gives him, but resent what it stands for (everything he's lost and the fact he'll never have a "normal" life after this).

As someone who's trans, changing the name everyone knows you by is a very.... strange experience. After a while, as you grow and change under the most recent name, the names you went by in the past begin to feel like completely separate people, as if they are not you, and you are not them. Considering the extent of his trauma, I believe Ghost struggles with feeling like he (Ghost) is separated from Simon to a degree that isn't quite accurate. Especially because of the inherent mystery and dehumanization that comes with so few people knowing what his face looks like.

Honestly I haven't thought about that scene a whole lot? Between Soap switching around and calling Ghost different names and titles (sir/Lt/Ghost/etc) and Ghost being very consistent (using almost exclusively Soap or Johnny to refer to him), I always thought that was us almost getting a silly nickname for Ghost from Soap, but y'know what? I think you're right. Price and Soap knowing him by Simon, since he's clearly worked with them both in close proximity before, whereas Laswell has a more professional relationship with him, would make Soap almost saying Ghost likes being called Simon pretty sensible.

But. Yeah, about Ghost's file not having a picture - that's because he faked his death and the gov. thinks he's fucking dead LMAO. His very existence is probably pretty confidential tbh, which imo just goes to show how much Price trusts Laswell. (they're besties, ur honor!)

Dottore is so arrogant and talks about the TRUE values of what it means to be a scholar and a researcher but his ass was kicked out the Academiya yet he is so obsessed with it and the students of it like tighnari + nahida's whole role as someone who rules it in a way like.,, his ass can't let it go aaaa. and he has all this vast knowledge and he did what he did to extend his life yet he has no plans to learn knowledge of emotional intimacy and anything similar.

One of the most interesting pieces of lore about that ugly but beautiful man to me personally comes from nahida's story that serves as the allegory.

i hope the screenshot is good enough,, anyway. He is called a lone monster and i always wonder is it the fact that he was the only one on that mission the reason why or because he feels no particular need for the Fatui. Sure the they became friends part can be seen as something just used to simplify the story but the thing is, later on he goes and removes his disguise and looks at his REFLECTION and calls himself a monster. Like, he is willing to ADMIT IT. It makes me think that what Dottore wanted was for someone to recognize him as a monster and for them to love him anyway because he was so different. He WANTS acceptance of some kind but hates when it is not the kind he imagines.

And the word SOLACE !! DOTTORE FOUND SOLACE !! when he saw this ugly kitten who was in no way a human. I partly think this was because Dottore could cling to some humanity in him that scara lacked completely but thats too.. i want to give him some benefit of the doubt that he was finally GLAD to have someone different like him; someone he wouldn't have to pretend around.

And all of this suffering he had waiting for his true reflection and all to be shown and accepted just made him MORE angry when this ugly cat had no issues with being different; when he didn't have to PRETEND to be something he isn't to be liked,,,it gives me,,, i don't know I just can't help but to cling on to this specific part when it comes to my dottore characterization and yes people can call it theory and wishful thinking but I think it will amount to a lot more.

but yeah, it's pretty eerie when you think about it because he just plopped into [godtongue]'s universe and stayed there for who knows how long, definitely witnessed the celestial war from down below, and then suddenly everything goes quiet. there's no communication, there's no check-ins, it's just him. he may as well assume all of the other archons & denizens abandoned him 💔 (or dead but yk)

and he was seeking them out! i didn't include this bit, but the second he felt that they were (about to be) born, he'd go and visit them. a lot of the times, he'd visit as they were growing up until they couldn't stay in their respective homes any longer, taking them in with him to keep them safe & "hidden". in [godtongue]'s case, he knew both of her parents beforehand, particularly her mother. after she took her leap of faith, he made sure to notify her father when he could!

and like. you'd imagine that [godtongue] would be traumatized after losing so much.. and she was! her teenage years consisted of her learning patience & how to forgive herself. before, she would impulsively confront 'in the name of justice', but she hadn't stopped before to think what that was. she didn't realize it, but she'd grown snarky & bitter in the face of everyone who was against her family.

tbh she was pretty much a well-meaning shithead during those next couple of years (mostly towards lemnis) lmao, all the while she grew into a very admirable and compassionate person, and especially a warm-hearted older sister you could depend on. she'd sneak into lemnis' secret studies and work twice as hard just to be able to read through his archives & books and once her younger siblings came more into the picture, she'd often aid them in their own interests & inspire them (both in a bad and good way) <3

as an adult she's respectful & fairly curious, going as far as managing to eavesdrop on RAD's student council in season 1 only to quickly be caught by barbatos, who would invite her to tea during every meeting to keep her occupied. unfortunately (or fortunately? hue hue) for barbatos, she'd ask questions that were both clever & thoughtful in nature--she isn't so easily quieted down lolol, but barbatos is probably the ONLY demon thar rivals her wit in his manner, and in a teasing sort of way, too. no matter! because she also successfully teases him back (•́⌄•́๑)૭✧ they are good friends, your honor

..save for the times she'd always look a little too deep into his eyes thanks to her curiosity, which would always be responded with “you see too much, my friend.” ..which has proven to be true all her life tbh so it's a haunting line for her

ANYWAYS THANK YOU FOR THINKING THIS IS INTERESTING!! yes casteus was the chosen descendant for the great old god, tian! and nazeli falling to her death was meant to parallel aurelia (hehe) leaping off the cliff. in a way, the fact that the original godtongue chose her makes you wonder if she was meant to live out the life she would've wanted for nazeli. she outlived her daughter, and now the new godtongue would outlive her own mother.

ok so given dibella is worshipped in many different cultures (and given that realistically there would be massive variation Within this) this has to be a huge generalization so my headcanons here are mostly for dibella worship within the nine divines religion/imperial cult (since thats the context for most of the lore on her worship) rather than All Worship Of Dibella Everywhere

main thing is.. its not Super well defined to begin with, and the sex aspects are kind of a 'hey gamer man target audience! we will describe the goddess's worship as a thing where theres TONS of sexy women who fuck and know secret erotic techniques!! no men allowed tee hee!! (i sure hope no men intrude to our hot sex chambers tee hee!!!!)' forbidden fruit sorta thing rather than being like. particularly well thought out. it also seems to be playing heavily on (possibly entirely false) concepts of 'sacred [sex work]' in aphrodite worship in ancient greece that is fairly often made into this kinda fetishized thing in media.

and i think a lot of fans try to 'fix' all this by just like downplaying the sex aspects entirely which i dont think is necessary

heres my headcanons

-her place within the nine divines pantheon is pretty nebulous, but the core facets of her worship center around beauty and pleasure. music and dance, natural beauty, and sex specifically tend to be focuses.

-music is CENTRAL to her worship. song and dance is the primary way she is prayed to. her worship spaces are almost always filled with music (bards can make a living of of playing in dibella's temples)

-sex is very significant both as part of her sphere and as a facet of rituals, but its not a 'you go to her temple and there are sexy big BOOB ladieys who want to fuck YOU' sort of thing. you are generally expected to find a sexual partner for yourself. certain cults of dibella are more sex focused, but access to these groups tend to require initiation and devotion.

-sexual instruction is a facet of certain forms of worship, mainly irt stuff like positions deemed favorable for ritual magic, or aphrodisiacs or shit like that

-i would want to develop the relation of sex work to dibellan practices, (based on similar historic gods related to sex work) but its something that literally there would be absolutely no chance of it EVER being handled well lol. but she likely has some associations with sex work in imperial society, (which if its anything like its irl historical precedents is a normalized facet of society, tho with class connotations)

-the love/affection aspects attributed to her tend to be considered more abstract and non-interpersonal love- a lover as a concept, not as a practice and not with the struggles reality entails. less abstract forms of love are considered more the territory of mara, though there is some variation or merging of the two, context depending (as in like. gods in polytheistic religions dont always have Well Defined Mutually Exclusive Spheres, especially not in the context of a state religion of a continent-spanning empire)

-class plays a huge part into how dibella is worshipped. worship among the imperial upper classes/nobility tends to have a decidedly more pleasure-focused tilt (as they have more leisure time than the lower classes) and frequent indulgence of feasting, drinking expensive art, etc is involved. worship among common folk tends to center around immaterial aspects (particularly music and dance) aside from dedicated festivals and feast days in her honor.

-dibella shares a place with zenithar as sometimes being seen as the 'rich mens gods', given the poor in the imperial hegemony dont tend to reap their claimed blessings as often.

-her depiction in the imperial cult leans towards androgyny, though with significant variation. she tends to be cast as a woman specifically in colovia due to heavy nordic cultural influence (where in the nordic pantheon she is squarely a woman).

-her face is usually depicted as obscured, (at least partially due to disagreements on how she should be shown) but she is inevitably depicted in line with the dominant beauty norms of the place and time (which even within the imperial cult will obviously vary tremendously from region to region)

-'dibellan' is a common term in imperial culture for transgender individuals, relating to dibella's varying gender in tales. this term isnt quite analogous to 'trans' irl and is more of a catch-all term for people existing outside of conventional gender norms, (thus sometimes used to refer to gay men/lesbians as well). this is most common in imperial dominant culture in cyrodiil, as other regions and cultures have their own terms, and different norms and definitions.

-> technoblade chooses mortal heroes that he blesses with the ability to hear the voices in battle and call upon the blood gods strength

phil's wife is the goddess of death. is she kristin, is the the samsung smart fridge, idk but shes married to phil. he comes to see her and brings her the souls of the dead as like a romantic gift, we know the deal

-> lady death has a soft spot for dead babies but shes not like. their mom? she doesnt really have kids or mortals that are "hers", shes not super interested in them. i think shes actually p cold and reserved, except to phil

drista is a trickster god, comes to earth and causes chaos until she is once again banished to the heavens- dionysus in pjo got grounded to camp half blood, drista gets grounded FROM camp half blood or whatever i end up calling the camp

-> drista picks out a mortal she likes and smacks them over the head in their early-ish childhood (before the age of ten) with her mark, thus labeling them as Hers. they may as well be a demigod at that point tbh shes technically their patron not their mom but the only difference is the dynamic lol

dristas older brother is dreamXD. i dont know anything about canon!dreamXD but im gonna make him a god of reality? bc as i understand it he comes to c!gnf in dreams or smth idk. hes probably the most powerful but idt he cares to be king of the gods- unless someone was claiming to be more powerful than him which theyre not dumb enough to do.

-> if gnf is a god, dxd never has mortal children, only blesses young adults and teens. if gnf isnt a god, dxd sometimes does blessings n sometimes has mortal children. his blessings work like how dristas do

foolish used to be a god of death before phil was, but when phil married the samsung smart fridge, he stepped down to become the god of life instead. he doesnt reign over births in any way, i think the ender dragon does that, but he like. u know. hes the totem of undying guy, ppl come to him when theyre trying to avoid death. or like, if theyre afraid someones gonna die- hes ya man

8. where and when do they seem most and least at ease? why? how can you tell?

tbh…mals the west coaster from that “my body melted into the sand” post. he takes these fucking like “mal days” he calls them where he sets up a chair on the roof of the l38 and has cas mix him a drink (mal can cook but he cant mix to save his life) and tans for like 4 hrs while listening to music. and ur not supposed to bother him on mal days but sometimes rex comes up and licks his hand which he begrudgingly allows. like its terrible and boujee and his honored ancestor wu hongqi would never approve but sometimes uve gotta relajate.

ive totally talked abt this before but mals extremely claustrophobic esp w being underground so he literally cant stand it. in most cases ud have to drag him kicking and screaming to get him underground but in a situation (this is like a nightmare worst case scenario for him btw) where he just like wakes up underground hed pretty much immediately start panicking, sweating and hyperventilating and looking for a way out.

mal lives for like adrenaline rushes in a modern au hed so be into extreme sports and shit so hes constantly looking for/setting up thrillseeking opportunities, all of which have to be approved by a council of arcade, boone, and raul (lily cant do it bcos she encourages whatever he comes up w it to see him happy, cass cant bcos shed totally say yes to something to see mal look stupid doing it, and veronica cant bcos shes right there doing it w him)

the worst thing u could ask him to do would be nothing. he cant meditate, way too restless. he needs something engaging either physically challenging or intellectually stimulating or at the very least something to fidget his hands with.

most of mals dreams are pretty normal, talking to ppl he knows and doing stuff, sometimes w weirder elements mixed in, but the worst ones are his like memory dreams. he gets dreams where he suddenly remembers everything he forgot when he got shot, everything about his past and the people and stuff and then he’ll wake up and forget all of it. and he’ll be left feeling like somethings been taken from him all over again.

ok can i just start by saying that im totally tossing out th window norn lore abt how they all wear tiny fur underwear in this freezing snowy climate. norn culture has a lot of emphasis on feats of glory and strength and honor, so i think typical clothing would be very utilitarian, blends in w the environment, doesnt make that much noise when stalking prey. i definitely think it would come in a lot of layers, given the variation in temperature we see in locations ingame and just in general the idea of adaptability in a combat environment. im totally gonna do an outfit layer sheet for her someday.

mugras a good tailor, but thats got more to do w quality of make and stitching than any real ingenuity in design. she makes really solid clothing, but i wouldnt describe her as having a real eye for fashion. she rarely dyes pelts, keeping them mostly in the shades of brown and white they come in. she really likes skirts tho, but ofc wears them like over warm leggings. shes got a giant fur coat/travel blanket w a bear head for the hood. the story of where she got the bear from changes every time she tells it.
