I love it when Linux is just like "you want to update 277 packages? no problem. I gotcha fam"

takes like 8 minutes max due to download size. meanwhile windows updates makes my machine do fuck all expect show a spinning circle for 3 hours and then randomly fail because I didn't pass the vibe check and now my hard drive is corrupted.

I know I'm gonna disappoint a lot of Arch users by saying this, but I just can't use a tiling window manager. Most applications just aren't designed to be tiled, the tiling system works best with terminals and CLI software (which I am, admittedly, not the best with), and it's just kind of uncomfortable and difficult for day-to-day usage in my opinion.

I've only really used i3 because the other ones either didn't work or required too much configuration. If you think I could have a better experience with a different one, then be sure to let me know.

Everyday I get closer to switching to Linux on the desktop for daily driving again

I am at the distro picked and a rough idea of what I wanna try and customize it to be like, stage

(although I need to find a USB stick and pray my internet will cooperate as it's been acting up and haven't been able to get much discord bot development done as a result because when it does work i end up playing Minecraft. sorry donutsalmi lol, I swear I'm almost done I just have to like upload my update to my server)

I just hope I can figure out a good setup for my vr.

Because I really like virtual desktop, but id prefer to run everything under proton rather then in a vm.

We'll see, worse comes to worse, I could try putting all of my VR games and anti cheat games in one VM, now that you can virtualize consumer cards. (and I don't play siege so that'll probably work fine)

me when updating nvidia drivers completely hard breaks my linux install. And even recovery mode can't save me.
