How likely do you think it’d be to get a character in a western Transformers show called Convoy, or having that in their name?

Because honestly I think the name Convoy sounds nice and like a good name for a character, but like. That’s because it is, it’s just Optimus’ Japanese name

And it’s like for that reason, are they able to have a character named Convoy in something over here? Because then there’s the question of what you call the character in Japan if Optimus is already there and called Convoy over there

This was a joy to remake during the month of April. Life has been rough (hence why I have been quiet all month), but making plushies always makes me happy in the end cause it makes other people happy! I'm never gonna stop crafting.

I dunno why I've been thinking so much about Galo Thymos recently but I just keep thinking about how much I love him and how a lot of fan stuff kind of almost sands down his edges in a way? Like. Sometimes I feel like people miss some really interesting character details about him that I find fascinating. Like. He's great, and kind, and a dipshit, and also. Kind of an asshole sometimes? And I feel like sometimes people don't get that part and how it ties into the rest of his personality, but it's so important to me.

And like. Hey. Alright. Some of this is headcanon. But there's a reason the cave scene happened like it did.

Like. Insulting the burnish to Lio wasn't a fluke. This happens after the pizza scenes, so we know Galo understands and sympathizes with the struggles of the burnish. And he still insults the burnish to Lio's face, because he wants to get a rise out of him. And yes some of it is Galo just not thinking hard enough to unpack something bigoted he heard, but the only reason he says it is because he wants to make Lio angry and that overrides any other thought in his brain.

Because Galo is 'the good guy,' and Lio is 'the badguy,' and Galo wants to banter and be cool and make Lio mad. He doesn't even think about this implications of what he's saying, he doesn't even register that it's not just him insulting Lio, he's also insulting the injured people nearby, the scared children in bandages, the pizza guy he just tried to save.

But Lio doesn't get mad. Lio gets hurt. He gets upset. (Okay he's also mad, but not just mad.) And when he replies, he's not defending himself. He's defending The Burnish. We're people. We're human beings. And THAT'S what makes Galo realize what he said was wrong. Because in that instant, Lio goes from a sort of nebulous idea of 'cool enemy I have to one-up and fight' to a person who needs to protect the weak, just like Galo. And in that moment, Galo had failed to do that because he let his impulsive need to be cool and fight back override his empathy.

Or. Here's another telling detail. After the pizza scene, Galo just storms off. He gets angry and drives off without a word. And he goes to the frozen lake, because it's "where he goes to cool off." Because he doesn't want to start fights and get in trouble and make Kray look bad.

Which tells me...this has been a problem before? This is an active decision he's made to step away, and it feels like a coping mechanism he's had to figure out for himself. Because he's combative and hot headed, and that's not always constructive. I can see him easily being the kid in school that sees some bullying and starts swinging on the playground. I can also easily see him as the kind of kid that talks back in class, the kid that gets frustrated quickly when he doesn't understand something. The problem child that had to work really hard to direct his big feelings into something constructive.

And I find it so fascinating how these parts of him work together to create such a kind and goofy protagonist. Because he's also so fucking kind and empathetic. He sees a rampaging dragon and INSTANTLY notices that it's crying. He refuses to play by Kray Foresight's rules and decides to save everyone, even if it's harder, even if Kray Foresight tells him it's impossible. Because Galo is rude and impulsive and combative and he cares so so so so so much about everyone and everything, and those parts of him are intrinsically tied together.

And also I love him.

Inside Lio's nursery, Timo very carefully eases himself out of the plush chair he had been rocking his son to sleep in. In his arms is a full, passed out baby. Timo takes a moment as he walks across the room to Lio's crib to be grateful for this. 

Since becoming a parent, Timo knows it's the simple things that matter the most.

Like getting to be home for nap time. 

Timo transfers Lio to his crib, adjusting his sleep sack around his legs before slowly maneuvering backwards to the door. Lio shifts suddenly in his crib. Timo pauses mid-step, holding his breath. Lio’s face turns the opposite direction, then he sighs before resuming his sleep.

That was close.

With confidence now, Timo leaves the room, then closes the door softly behind him. Once done, he heads out to the main area in search of his wife. Tension squeezes his shoulders when he sees her in the kitchen, re-cleaning the counter he had already done today. She knows that. She walked in from her lunch meeting to see Timo cleaning their place. Now here she is, starting the process all over. Timo looks towards the couch, seeing that she rearranged the pillows and refolded the throw blanket too. He isn't positive, but it seems like she reorganized Lio's toys in the corner.

"Allstar level transfer there." Emma chuckles. She must have been watching on the monitor. Timo sighs at that too. 

"Well, he is my kid, so..." Timo trails off, a tinge of a bite in his words. If Emma notices, she doesn't point it out.

"I know. You're the best daddy, babe. I love how hands on you are with him. We are so lucky." She hums happily, kissing him as he moves around her to the fridge for a drink. Her hand trailing across his stomach temporarily soothes the frustration that was building in him. He relaxes, opening the bottle of sparkling water and taking a sip. 

The relief is only temporary. Because Emma goes over to the dishwasher, opens the door, then wrinkles her nose at the way he loaded the top rack. With a burdened sigh, she begins to pull dirty cups and bottles out to put them all back in her way. 

Emma's way is killing Timo's confidence.

"Why are you doing that?" He asks her. 

"Because it isn't spread out enough to clean the bottles and cups properly."

"Oh." Timo watches her rearrange them into what she deems best, then she shuts it, and starts to run it. "It isn't full." Timo points out.

"It doesn't have to be to start it." Emma shrugs. "We will need that space for the dinner I'm making. It uses a lot of dishes." She keeps talking as she leans down under the sink. She comes back up with more cleaning supplies.

"What are you doing now?" Timo asks as she grabs a fresh microfiber towel and a new bottle he hasn't see before. They have both cleaned the counter now and she's going after it again?

"Polishing the stone. It's looking dull." She gives the bottle a teasing shake at him. "Boys don't know what this stuff even is, huh?”

"I did live on my own for almost a decade before I married you. I’m capable of cleaning up our space.”

"Sure, but if this is how you've been cleaning, you've been doing it wrong." Her bluntness has Timo leaning slightly back like she slapped him. His eyes squint into an angry expression. He folds his bottom lip between his teeth as Emma turns back to finishing wiping off the stone counter with the magical polish.

"There! See? So much better."

"It looks no different." Timo insists, shaking his head. Maybe he could have held that comment back. Emma scoffs, turning to look at him with an appalled scowl. Then she waves a dismissive hand at him. "You're a boy. You don't understand."

"Hm. I don't think I like that." Timo says, putting a palm on the counter. Emma zeros in on it, nostrils flaring in annoyance at him marking up her clean stone. 

"Can you not?" She waves to his palm.

"Can you not?" Timo claps back. Emma's eyes go to his, narrowing with the challenge building between them.

"I like things done a certain way."

"Yeah, you like things done your way." He adjusts her words to say what she really means. "But that was before we were married. Now, we are married and have a kid. You can't be running around after me re-doing everything, yet be upset about not having enough time to get things done." Emma baulks, opening and closing her mouth, actually speechless for once. She inhales heavily, sucking her cheeks in as she does. Her dimples puncture her cheeks, distracting Timo.

"Well, then do it right the first time."

"Em, this is disrespectful of my time and yours." He waves his hand over the counter. Both palms come back to press into the stone. Emma's brown eyes squint harder. She stalks across the kitchen, hip checking him out of the way and working her microfiber cloth over where his palm prints were.

"Disrespect…” She trails off with an eye roll.” This! This is disrespectful." She snips back, rubbing extra hard until the towel squeaks across the granite. "Standing here watching me clean then ruining it within one second."

About that Blake tumblr post about patch— who are Patch’s “family”? I’ve heard about her briefly from lio convoys response (completely irrelevant, that’s also how I knew she was lily orchards MISTRESS that threw me off so bad) and how opal or someone was her online/not legally adopted son— (??) does she just adopt people? Forming an Alliance in a Nutshell

This is what makes a fight scene really sparkle for me: it's visually interesting, yes, but also the characters' opposing stances are deepened and furthered. If I'm not learning stuff during a fight scene, I'm usually super bored by it, and Promare's fight scenes are all just so good at mixing aesthetics and plot.

It also highlights why Galo's one of my favorite emotionally intelligent protagonists. He starts off with, "I understand your anger," makes sure Lio knows that he's not on Kray's side anymore, and establishes the line he won't let Lio cross.

And when Lio points out that Kray's people are using the Burnish for human experimentation, Galo counters with the very thing Lio himself taught him while Galo was in the cave with the Burnish: that they pride themselves on not killing unnecessarily (so civilians should be off limits).

It's such a fantastic scene because it shows Lio, who's completely alone and cornered and devastated, that Galo was listening to him before and takes him seriously now. And then he reminds Lio of who he is at his core, what his morals are, and why he shouldn't lose sight of them.

And the scene is TWENTY-FOUR SECONDS LONG.

This movie is so wildly, phenomenally great.

Sounds like you understand stuff better than a lot of folk out there, and that- that probably comes from experience. You happy out there? You mention people helped you learn to be a person, after HA abandoned you in the field, mention you have friends now. That's real good to hear about. People who get it make everything managable, I think. You're a good person to know, Sally- I'm real glad you and Xie got talking. I know they're happy bout it too.

Once they've got people who don't want to see them hurt. People who can actually do something about it.

More CyberWorld/EarthSpark stuff that stuck out to me.

Another page in the planning document cropped up, & it gives a general overview of what Hasbro had in mind at the time.

Two new shows are planned to come out, but this page confusingly doesn’t mention CyberWorld, just an “animated kids series” & an “animated pre-K series”.

The other pages still reference CyberWorld, so mostly going by what we’ve seen, CyberWorld is meant to be the kids series, but it’s a big question mark on the pre-k show. Rescue Bots ran its course, I got the feeling lil’ kids weren’t interested in RBA since it didn’t last as long, stories were both too preschool but also trying to tack on IDW centric ideas by forcing Laserbeak to be forgiven and becoming an Autobot, for reasons. Stuff that’s not interesting to lil’ kids or their parents.

When RBA ended, a new toyline took over but I don’t think it sold super well, nor did it have any fiction.

As well as only including Optimus Primal & BW Megatron Gator…? It was a random line, and clearly just filler to eke out RB style toys longer. I don’t see the new Pre-K show being this, but CHT did sell Decepticons as enemy characters unlike RB/A, so the Pre-K show might be based on the Great War this time? Or at the very least, stuff like the Decepticons robbing banks and power plants, lol. Or some gag about Soundwave illegally downloading music, only to be put in his place, but with a contradictory gag about the human kids and Bumblebee doing the same from time to time.

It’s pry too late to ape it now, but a modern pre-K show I could see being Spidey & His Amazing Friends tonally with toys similar to Paw Patrol’s. Like say you have the standard Optimus toy partnered with Spike (Skybound or G1 doesn’t matter), and the trailer transforms into a big jet for Optimus and Spike to ride in. Something like that.

As for CyberWorld.

The current assumption based on the toys, is it might be a return to vehicles vs animals that both RiDs, Beast Machines, Beast Wars II and ROTB (kinda) did.

The Decepticons seemingly being animal themed supports this (plus if Meg Bull IS Megatron, Megs trying to push off road Optimus off a cliff in bull mode is hilarious), though Galvatron is the odd one. The only one with a beast form is the BWII version…

Hasbro might be more open to Beast Wars again but they’re still a bit dodgy about the Japanese cast despite Lio Convoy and Magmatron. I could sooner see a G1 Galvatron than BWII Galvatron, but the fun approach would be an Armada Galvatron inspired design that borrows from G1, Energon & BWII.

Toy speculation suggests the line might be a repaint line like the old TF Universe series made up of Cyberverse, RiD15 and EarthSpark molds.

A possibility. Cited speculative examples of Sky-Byte being his Cyberverse toy, Chomp & Stomp Grimlock being another go at the AoE toy of the same name, & Mirage being RiD15 Blurr make sense, but I dunno. Scorponok and Galvatron stick out, as I would think they’d have to be new molds, though an argument can be made for a G1 colored version of RiD15 Scorponok… Similarly, they might repaint TFP Predaking into Galvatron if he’s a repaint and they wanted to homage BWII, but I’m leaning towards new molds for now.

CyberWorld ISN’T a cartoon, but a toy only subline or size class meant to replace the abandoned Core/Legion class.

Inconclusive. The tiny toys don’t seem to sell well as it is, Legacy just stopped being restocked my way so no BM Cheetor or Energon Megatron for me. Also guys like Iguanus shelfwarmed HARD. Rungs were still clogging Ollies until recently. CyberWorld is also shown to be the successor to ES in most of the documents that we can tell.

The CyberWorld cartoon will have a half of a half shoe string budget like Cyberverse and possibly be similar to it.

Inconclusive but not out of the realm of possibility either. Hasbro has been having its own problems lately, while Paramount is practically on fire right now. A lot of people mostly just seem to be clinging to how similar World & Verse sound, with the logo also looking slightly similar but still different enough. A lot more people also seem resistant to the idea of more Cyberverse either way. CV didn’t perform well either, the toys clogged store shelves from start to finish, heck the first wave went on clearance immediately after Christmas, and the series JUST came out, the messy, lackadaisical approach to the show’s (lack of) story, the bad voice acting, etc. It’s not a fondly remembered show as much as some make it out to be. And even then, you’d sort of expect, if it was directly related, Hasbro would shove Bumblebee front & center, despite the CV cartoon wanting little to do with Bee as it went on. Like let’s be real, if it was a CV sequel, Bee, Windy & Shadow should be here right out the gate. They’re not. At all. Windy is practically benched in favor of Elita now.

Mirage is the focus (seemingly) instead, presumably due to the ROTB version’s popularity. He’s certainly more fun than the rich snob that may or may not be a traitor the G1 version tends to be. Not that you can’t make the G1 version interesting but boy has Hasbro not really had any interest in doing so beyond his invisibility gimmick.

So really until told otherwise we know very little. All we know for sure is EarthSpark is being slowly phased out in favor of CyberWorld & a potential Pre-K show. The Slag Podcast host has given a knowing wink, and has a show planned that will presumably lay these Snaketicons out straight, as people have been calling him a lying liar again for sticking to what he knows. Similarly some have pointed out Nick Roche may have also been lying, giving false hope EarthSpark is continuing on when it’s pretty clear it isn’t. S2 is it people, one way or the other, and the new CyberWorld order is coming whatever it ends up being.
