tbf Daan moved a lot further away and emotionally checked out, neither Viv or Beth are the type to do that.

I also truly believe Viv and Lisa just grew apart and that is was inevitable for that to happen. Lisa leaving the club may have accelerated it but it would have happened regardless.

Trigger warning for loss of a child

Alden can’t stand country music. Whenever it comes on the radio it feels like someone is driving an ice pick right into his brain. He becomes reserved, short tempered, abrasive. You’ve never been able to decipher the reasoning behind it not until the night he tells you about Bonnie.

“We were coming back from swimming club when it happened.” He finds himself saying as the two of you sit on the chocolate brown Chesterfield in the greenhouse. Your fingertips stroke along the underside of his forearm, tracing over the Eagles lyrics tattooed there. “Bonnie was asleep in the back seat. She always used to drop off after those sessions...”

He smiles at the memory. Bonnie’s unruly dark curls falling across her dainty features, her cheek pressed into the side of the car seat. She’d been wearing a black and white striped dress that day, a silver barrette clipped into her hair.  He still carries the damn thing around in his wallet, despite the fact it’s rusted. It’s the only thing he has left of his daughter because Viv had purged the nursery in the aftermath, she couldn’t stand the sight of anything that reminded her of Bonnie.

“When you have kids, you have all these dreams for them.” He tells you, his voice getting a little rough as he watches your fingers trail over the ink. “I thought she was going to grow up, go to the Olympics, bring home a gold medal...It seems so stupid now.” 

He trails off then, swallowing hard against the build-up of emotion in his chest. It’s getting hard to breathe because he’s back there in that place fiddling with the dial on the radio as Viv focuses on the road ahead, her hands gripping the steering wheel.

“Things get hazy after that.” He sighs as his hand captures yours. He holds on tight squeezing your fingers because the road he’s about to go down, it’s not one he wants to walk alone. “They tell me I hit my head in the crash. I remember fragments. Viv was driving, there was a Willie Nelson song on the radio, it was Pancho and Lefty. We were singing that hook, you know the one? ‘All the Federales say…’”

He's there now, right back in that car with the taste of metal in his mouth and smoke filling his lungs. Viv’s slumped over the air bag, blood trickling out of her nose and he’s trying to wake her but Viv, her eyes, they just won’t open.

All the Federales say…

That song, that damn song is still playing and he realises that underneath the lyrics he can’t hear Bonnie, she should be awake now, she should be screaming but there’s just this silence, this horrible, empty nothingness and Alden knows, he just knows.

He forces himself to look anyway and what he sees...

Christ it still haunts his dreams.

“Car seats back then...” He hears himself telling you. “They weren’t as robust as they are these days. My daughter…”

He chokes because all of that anguish, all of that guilt, it’s like he’s feeling it for the very first time. He breaks then, his entire being shattering into a million pieces. The noise that comes out of his mouth, it’s raw, animalistic, a violent sob that wracks his entire body. He hasn’t grieved for Bonnie, not really. There was never any space for it. He was the strong one in the aftermath, holding Viv together and then that had fallen apart. By that point he’d shoved it all in a box because he didn’t want to face it, he’d convinced himself he’d moved on but in reality, it’s always been there, sitting just under the surface waiting.

Your lips chase over the tears that leak down his cheeks, your body pressing against his and Alden feels that rush of heat, that urge to feel anything but the agony that eats him up inside right now.

“Lisa?” He questions, his breath a little ragged and you know exactly what he’s asking you. “I need…”

You know exactly what he needs, you always do. You climb into his lap and his hand threads  through your hair, gripping it tightly in his fist. He pulls your head back, baring your throat and you make that noise, that sweet whimper as his lips ghost up the curve of your neck.

“It’s going to be rough.” He warns you, tugging a little harder, keeping you in place, flush against him. “I don’t have it in me to be soft with you tonight.”

“You don’t have to be.” You whisper as he thrusts up against you. “I mean it Alden, I won’t break.”

Ngl I feel like a fact from the pilot era that people should lose their minds over is the fact that both Alastor and Charlie like pineapple on their pizza. (Lilith too but this ain't about her)

Idk, there's so much thought behind their shared sense of humor (Viv once did a drawing to lonely island's Mona Lisa stating that was how she saw them) but the pineapple on pizza thing really gets me. It's such a weirdly specific detail that the two of them share and I feel like we have not given this fact it's due.

Just imagine the possibilities of a scenario where those two get to share an entire pizza with each other!

I’m confused as to how Hazbin/helluva boss fans think that you could be sued for libel/slander??? Literally everytime I’ve seen you post potential leak info you always make it clear that whatever is being said is alleged, and even if it is from a solid source that you can’t reveal or post proof for, I’ve noticed you also make it clear that even that may not be 100% fact/you understand that not everyone will believe you, and this is just what someone told you.

You either say “wow, I don’t know if this source is legit but wild if true” or “this came from a legit source but I don’t have proof I can post so I guess we’ll see what happens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ “ and then Viv’s Stan’s turn around and act like you went on national news and falsely reported that Vivienne stole the Mona Lisa or just shot Madonna in the shoulder or some wild fucking shit. I just don’t get it.

I'll tell you, I am not looking forward to season 2 just because it doesn't matter how many times I emphasize that the Rosie/Lilith leak is very likely to have changed over time -- if it deviates even slightly, they'll never shut up about how I post fake information and deserve to be in liar's jail.

Hell, that Adam Neylan screenshot was confirmed to be real by Adam himself and they immediately pivoted to "Well, just because that one thing we insisted was fake Discord screenshots was actually true doesn't mean the rest of it wasn't obviously faked!"

I keep on thinking abt how Viv said that Charlie and Alastor would both like Mona Lisa by The Lonely Island

So I was watching this bonkers roller coaster of an analysis video that bounces from topic to topic with a psychological thriller plot playing out in the gaps between them (though it does arrive at a point eventually). A bit before the 18-minute mark, it brings up the infamously bad movie "The Room" and how one specific character is written as unrealistically malicious, with no clear motivation or logic behind her behavior. It's as if Tommy Wiseau purposefully crafted a sadistic monster with no redeeming qualities in order to make the audience hate her.

Then it hit me. That sounds terribly familiar.

I can't believe I can say, with zero exaggeration, that the characterization of Stella from Helluva Boss is on par with that of Lisa from The Room. And yet, here we are.

The video speculates that Lisa and Johnny's relationship could be based on an actual breakup Tommy Wiseau went through, and that this is his perspective of how things went down. Johnny (a fairly transparent self-insert) is portrayed as the innocent hero who's practically perfect in every way, while Lisa is cruel and vindictive for no good reason. It's obvious viewers are meant to see Johnny as the good guy and Lisa as nothing but a loathsome villain to boo and hiss at, much like Helluva Boss's narrative wants us to sympathize with Stolas and curse Stella's name.

Fun fact: One of my own characters is also unsympathetic by design. He's an obnoxious sleazeball who constantly hits on women and has a hair-trigger temper. But he's also witty, an ardent defender of his beliefs, and individualistic despite the strict, conformist environment he was brought up in. Every time he sees a loophole to exploit, he will, for better or worse. It would've been the easiest thing in the world to make this character a one-note asshole with no substance, but where's the fun in that? How would that be interesting?

But how a writer develops characters isn't just an indicator of their work ethic, their commitment to quality, or their enjoyment of the act itself. It also says something about how they see the world, or more specifically, the people in it.

I'm just wondering what the hell it takes to be okay with writing strawman villains like Lisa and Stella. How misanthropic and/or sheltered do you have to be to view anyone, even fictional characters, as this thoroughly monstrous?

mommy kim definitely has her girls she deals with and i feel like it would be the like older arsenal girls who are less scared of her ex. leah, katie, beth, viv, jordan

whereas i feel like lia’s a bit more approachable and probably has less of a scary rep going for her so she deals with all the newer girls who might be a little bit intimidated by kim

Oh yeah, Lia just takes to the newer girls and probably is the one that they come to before Kim. She also kind of shows the girls the reigns, showing them what they should and shouldn't do while also being the comforting hand that the older girls might need.

They just have very different approaches
