there sure are a number of transfems extremely comfortable with talking about transmascs and their experiences like they get to be the arbiters of our oppression because they are also trans. i don't think that's how that works. trans people as a whole do have a lot of overlapping experiences, and transfems are oppressed under transmisogyny, which involves plenty that i don't relate to or understand. like there aren't hordes of caricatures of trans men in the media used as a punchline (i don't think i can even think any frankly), so i have no idea what that would be like. i don't get to be the one who defines what that experience is or means. it would be nice if those people (and i do mean those people because it certainly is not every single transfem on this website) could also do that.

i think the community would be a lot healthier if everyone just stopped talking over one another all the time, cause there sure are transmascs doing the same shit in reverse. there will be transmascs hopping onto a trans woman's post to 'debunk' things that i know we as a group do not experience. erasure operates differently from hypervisibility. i also know i have my own blindspots inevitably because i can only be me, but i dont think that transmascs doing this (bad) means that transfems don't and it isn't like. also a bad thing for them to do.

idk. this community feels fucked six ways to sunday. half the time you go into any trans tag ever to keep up with the entire community you not only have to block actual terfs on their perpetual bullshit but you also have to read 60000 posts made by trans people indirectly arguing with and talking over other trans people with some of the most bad faith reads of your own community imaginable. like. real 'i like pancakes' 'so you hate waffles' energy. the idea that a trans person who is different than you might say something in a clumsy way, or made a typo, or was half-asleep, or was uninformed about a particular nuance, or just maybe has natural, obvious limitations in how they can understand or experience the world because a person can only ever be the person they already are, none of that can ever happen! if someone says something and i don't get it, or i disagree, or whatever it is, it is malicious attack on my dignity and principles, they are the real enemies trying to oppress me and keep me down and they must be destroyed.

this place sucks. i hate it here.

Im rewatching Junior Year and it could not have been more obvious that Squeem, Duggan, Balthazar, etc., all the new npcs, was a bit. The cast are all effusive, laughing, sarcastically going “Oh! Of course! Everyone knows Squeem!” while cackling loudly.

What’s more, Brennan also says the words “in media res” several times, explaining fully that we did not see any run up to the final battle.

On top of all of that, Brennan also explains multiple times that the bad kids met those characters during the on going months long battle against the ight yorb, meaning we as the audience do not know them, but the bad kids do.

I truly fail to understand how some folks were so stymied by this bit.

Aoi and Teru are in an arranged marriage set up by their parents. They aren’t just engaged in the “high school sweethearts” sense, they are arranged to be wed. Wether or not they both want it (which I’d assume they probably either are apathetic or don’t) is up for debate.

Aoi is a Kanagi, Teru is an exorcist. My assumption as to why they are engaged is probably just a rebake of the sumi6 set-up. Aoi may be the new kanagi, Teru might’ve been guised as her husband the same way Hakubo was, only for her to get sacrificed.

That’s just my guess, idk why else a marriage plot would be mentioned other than to relate to Sumire and the kanagi. But hey I’m not AidaIro don’t quote me on this

Not for nothing, but if more people in this online Stranger Things fandom had media literacy, knew how to close read scenes, and listen at the actual lines the characters were given...you wouldn't need a script to confirm or deny your interpretation of what characters were doing or what would/could happen next.

It's all there in the text/episodes, from Jonathan not wanting to "chase a dream that isn't mine," and Steve's "You're there. You've always been there," to how both Jonathan and Nancy look when she admits that Steve "has actually grown up a bit."

None of us know what's going to happen next, but the writers are going explore this triangle one last time. That's obvious. It's also pretty damn clear Nancy will have to sift through her feelings for Jonathan and Steve along with fighting evil and dealing with her own unresolved trauma (hopefully). They're setting up Nancy and Jonathan to be together in s5. However, if they'd broken up at the end of season 4, I'd say s5 could possibly see J*ncy reunite, but as they ended it similarly to season 1 (with Stancy together and Jonathan alone), I think the writers are saving the possible J*ncy break up for next season, as conflict/secrets slowly unravel things between them. They have shared history, but they're clearly not communicating about what their future looks like. That's a red flag. And they're not admitting there's a festering problem between them either, which isn't a good sign.

Steve...I predict will have some stuff with Dustin perhaps as he going through his anger/grief about Eddie and maybe something with Robin and Vickie, since they all share final scenes together at the high school. Perhaps Vickie will get wrapped up in the teen group dynamics next season, too. I also think Steve will get a chance to disprove Jonathan's dismissive "who would have been in charge? Steve?" comment (although he's already disproved this multiple times over multiple seasons). I haven't rewatched Vol. 2 yet, but I think the last lines he spoke were to Nancy about her always being there, right? If so, that's really interesting. Because although he is momentarily dejected about Nancy and Jonathan reuniting, he sees Robin with Vickie, which I think is a callback both to the beginning of season 4 where they both admit that they're "hopeless" and to their scene in Vol. 2 where Steve tells Robin says he still has "hope" for her and perhaps for himself). Basically, that scene ends with hope for Robin, which imo gives Steve some for himself.

If you don't like what you see and hear, create or read fanfic. Create headcanons etc. But if you're going to analyze what's happening onscreen, stick to what's happening onscreen. No additional props are necessary.

It's a federal holiday (presidents' day) and so there are hardly any new jobs, like a weekend amount, and the recruiter has not Gotten Back To Me, no have any of the other jobs I applied to (because of the holiday, not because they don't want to hire me or anything. no one in their right mind wouldn't want to hire me).

Anyway what's so great about presidents anyway? the old ones were slave owners and war criminals and the new ones are tax felons and war criminals. when can we actually get a president worthy of a whole ass holiday?

Hello, everyone. I hope this blog can bring some well-needed laughs in really trying times. That's why I've gone back into the archives of that precipitous year 2007, a year where the McMansion was sleepwalking into being a symbol of the financial calamity to follow. We return to the Chicago suburbs once more because they remain the highest concentration of houses in their original conditions. Thanks to our flipping predilection, these houses become rarer and rarer and I have to admit even I have developed a fondness for them as a result.

Our present house is ostensibly "French Provincial" in style, which is McMansion for "Chateaux designed by Carmela Soprano". It boasts 7 bedrooms, 8.5 bathrooms, and comes in at a completely reasonable 15,000 square feet. It can be yours for an equally reasonable $1.5 million.

Every 2007 McMansion needed two things: a plethora of sitting rooms and those dark wood floors. This house actually has around five or six sitting rooms (depending if you count the tiled sunroom) but for brevity's sake, I'll only provide two of them.

With regards to the second sitting room, I'm really not one to talk statuary here because beside me there is a bust of Dante where the sculptor made him look simultaneously sickly and lowkey hot.

Technically, if we are devising a dichotomy between sitting and not sitting (yes, I know about the song), the dining room also counts as a sitting room. The more chairs in your McMansion dining room, the more people allegedly like you enough to travel 2.5 hours in traffic to see you twice a year.

Here's the thing about nostalgia: the world as we knew it then is never coming back. In some ways this is sad (kitchens are entirely white now and marble countertops will look terrible in about 3 years) but in other ways this is very good (guys in manhattan have switched to private equity instead of betting the farm on credit default swaps made from junk mortgages proffered to America's most vulnerable and exploited populations.) Progress!

Okay I really don't understand the 50 bed pillows thing. Every night my parents tossed their gazillion decorative pillows on the floor just to put them back on the bed the next morning. Like, for WHAT? Who was going in there? The Pope?
