it's literally so funny to me that people in the titanic fandom don't see cal and rose as a pairing.... WHO is gonna tell them that they are literally engaged to be married.....

idk of it's just me but i don't understand, the atla fandom, from all ships existing would just slander zukka out of nowhere. like mf i just want to see my boys being silly and in love in fanwork, why they need to be so mean lmao
I think it's because for close to 20 years, Kataang and Zutara were reining supreme in ship wars and fandom space. Jetko was the main mlm ship before but it didn't have nearly the same popularity. No other ship could even touch those two and those two continued arguing about what's best for canon.
Now though? Zukka's the second most popular ship on ao3- all of those fics and content showed up in 3 years. And suddenly the Netflix actors are pushing for Zukka practically every interview while actively dissuading Zutara(and hinting strongly at Kataang- thanks Gordon & Kiawentiio going "he/she's my.....family, yeah let's say family *wink* *wink*"). They're getting extremely popular and now fucking Netflix, Entertainment Weekly and Deadline are tagging #zukka in the year of our lord 2024(thank you for your service Dallas Liu, braver than the marines). Popular ships unfortunately get hate, especially queer ships, like just as a baseline regardless of if it's a canonically supported or unsupported ship, if it's "morally correct or incorrect".
This 'crackship' that no one took seriously suddenly feels...like a threat to these people??? Like we can joke about hahaha zukka gayyyy but we all know that's just silly gobbledygook right? (Not saying Zukka should or could be canon, but just the fact that people are seriously considering it as a ship option in fandom makes people act weird)
A lot of the the points made for "why Zukka is bad actually" are so funny though, that my initial irritation is fading and I'm just laughing at it. Some highlights that made me actually lose it:
Zukka is misogynist to Katara because, and I shit you not, they think that we think Katara is homophobic sdjfhbbgvh. I was shook when I discovered this was a thing.
Zukka bad because Klance bad (war flashbacks to Voltron)
"Everyone just wants a gay ship smh the chronically ONLINE FANDOM BRAIN HAS ROTTED THE SANCTITY OF HETEROSEXUAL-[EXPLODES]"
Zuko is a colonizer who's oppressing Sokka by dating him (i have no stats but this sounds like a white person trying very hard to sound like they're super inclusive and understand the plights of the colonized and oppressed. and the best way to do it is shit on a fake ship about lines on a page)
Zukka bad because it makes no canon sense
I think people who are Big Mad don't get that we're genuinely just chilling and making silly stuff without thinking too much about what SHOULD happen in canon. Everyone in ATLA fandom takes the show and the fandom far too seriously, like losing a fan discussion is somehow a slight upon their personal morals.
We coasted along without much hate for a good while but the increasing popularity means Zukka as a ship is going to get bashed ;_; I think the best we can do is block and ignore instead of engaging(very hypocritcal of me rn tbh, I'll try to stop).
I don't think you expected this....giant wall of text but thanks for sending me the ask and I totally get your frustration" Just let us enjoy our silly hcs and content!!!

Hi! I have a question, I hope I can explain myself: how would you describe Gojo on a moral level? I see the majority of the fandom (jjk in general, not just the shipping ones) considers him a good person, but I'd argue he's more on the grey side...and not a light grey. See, I can't really wrap my head around the way he blatantly ignores the fact the Suguru was completely fucked up, to the point that in chap 236 he wishes Suguru was with him before fighting Sukuna and imagining him (adult Suguro, the fucked up one) together with the same students he tried to kill in jjk0. How on earth? If I'm not mistaken Gojo never really says "yeah, Suguru was my friend but he used to be completely different, this is not the Suguru I used to be friends with". He never says Suguru was wrong. He just misses him, even though he was surrounded by people who liked him. At least Shoko clearly doesn't feel any affection towards Suguru. And let's not talk about the way he doesn't really seem concerned about the future of his students in chap 236. What do you think? Just to clarify: I do like Gojo. But I don't share the sentiment of the rest of the fandom: he's not a good person. I guess Nanami was right
Tumblr media
This is a (somewhat) fair assessment.
Character alignment wise, I think Gojo enters into Jujutsu High as a Chaotic Neutral and transcends into more of a Chaotic Good or maybe Neutral Good? It's hard to say because, if in universe, Gojo is the perceived solution to every problem then why are there still so many problems? Including Geto's 10 year stint running amok?
Morally, Gojo absolutely exists in shades of grey. He uses his power to do the lawful thing but... at the same time, could, on a whim, use his power to do what he or Geto feels to be the right thing. The biggest example being the fact that they were willing to protect Riko Amanai's right to choose whether she wished to merge or not even if the latter would have catastrophic ramifications. Based on the needs of society, Riko needed to merge with Tengen, but Gojo recognized erasure of one girl for the security of others wasn't necessarily right. As an adult, again, he does what needs doing but pushes back on elders that would rather see the likes of Yuta Okkotsu or Yuji Itadori dead.
We have to understand that jujutsu society, with all its rules and hierarchy, isn't a morally upright system to begin with. Gojo, as a Big Three Family heir, is deeply entrenched in that. But he has enough sense to, in his own way, try to correct what he perceives to be travesties.
Suguru Geto is a casualty of this imperfect system and Gojo's initial inability to recognize Geto's struggle was the fatal flaw that put the final nail in his coffin. Discovering the twins was the hand that swung the hammer and he was subsequently radicalized. Gojo wasn't the only person who still kept space for Geto. Nanami and Shoko could also understand that the slaughter of that village was wrong but not find it in their hearts to condemn Geto or hear ill words spoken against him. None of them condemn him because, even if his method was wrong, they understand why he desperately wanted to change the way things are.
Gojo's affection for Geto, in my mind, does not necessarily make him a completely bad person, though. For one, while he doesn't outright condemn what happens in the village, he is clearly dismayed by the murder of Geto's parents. We see that he does in fact understand the wrongness of Geto's transgressions. Bear in mind that, until broken by the system they all served, Geto was a gentle and just person with a noble idea of what was right. So earnestly that Gojo allowed space for Geto to influence his own morality. So this radical change in behavior is a shock to Gojo's system and, even though he was used to deferring to Geto's judgement (like not killing the Time Vessel Association), he very clearly and autonomously recognized Geto's sins. Gojo had an unconditional acceptance or love for Geto which is why, despite everything, he would still find satisfaction in closing the loop, as it were, with Suguru right beside him.
⚠️ Spoiler warning for JJK chapter 236.
The man is dead, what more do you want from him? He knew he was going to die and fought hoping that those who remained could pick up the slack of the weakened opponent. 236 was merely an echo of the same faith he had after he was sealed - that he trusted in the people he left behind. I think Gojo has also come to terms with the fact that all he can do is throw everything he's got at the situation. His failure is unfathomable to most but he's been shown the limits to his power before so perhaps that's why he's overly cavalier. In most situations, he's the first line of defense so if that doesn't cut it... what more can he do?
Bear in mind, what we see of Gojo's afterlife in 236 is more than likely what he hopes for in his heart of hearts. But I'm not really subscribed to the idea that he's Gojover. I could be wrong, especially since Gege Akutami keeps comparing other people to Gojo in his absence to fill in the gaps and explain how they could possibly hope to beat Sukuna. But I think what we saw was an extended version of what Nanami experienced before passing.
You can go left or right - Yuki to Geto about his radical ideals
You can go North to start anew or South to your old self - Mei to Nanami and actualized in his dying moments with an apparition of Haibara
These are choices and the second is as explained to Gojo as if he has the same choice. From his hope that it isn't all in his imagination and the setting therein, it would seem he's leaning toward accepting his fate but I just don't think that's the case. If anything, this prolonged ideation is possible because that brain of his is intact. Gojo even told Toji that he should have cut off his head if he wanted to kill him so, who's to say whether that applies now.
Regarding Nanami being right, I assume you mean the Nanami in chapter 236. In which case:
Hypothesis: The reason we see Gojo surrounded by younger versions of those he lost is because they are attached to the version of himself that died. Gojo will come back as a more enlightened person.
Keep in mind, in a way, Adult Nanami understands Gojo. Every version of Nanami is annoyed by Gojo but there's still a respect that goes both ways, even when their ideals differ. I think Nanami's assessment that "You live for jujutsu. You don't wield it to protect something. You use it solely for the sake of satisfying yourself." is apropos for high school Gojo. But that was before he lost Geto, developed a resolve to take in Megumi and Tsumiki (albeit selfishly), protect Yuta from the elders with his life, and protect Yuji. Empirically, there's a facet of Gojo that uses his power for good and it feels like the versions of Haibara, Nanami, Geto and Yaga that he encounters would be unaware of that. I think that's what makes the fact that Gojo visualizes Adult Geto celebrating him stick out even more. Why the mind games, Gege??
In summation, Gojo continues to exist swathed in shades of grey. He could be better but he could definitely be worse. He is a reflection of a corrupt system that masquerades under the impression of working in service of the greater good but ignores the problematic elements of the likes of Mei Mei, and Naoya Zenin.

Transformers Ship:
One thing I noticed about the Transformers series and fandom is that sometimes the most randomly paired bots make the best couples, not just because they are gorgeous together but because they somehow FIT.
Like their dynamics match and differ in all the right places. For example: Soundwave x Cosmos, Starscream x Wheeljack, Drift | Deadlock x Ratchet, Brainstorm x Perceptor, etc.
I’ve come up with one pairing that might be a great fit:
Shockwave x Nautica
Let’s face it: Shockwave likes intelligent people and the Marvel version of him LIKED (platonic or romantic) Starscream.
If he is to have a healthy relationship, he needs someone who isn’t subservient obedience or weak. That type of person would just get used by him.
He also needs someone trustworthy (hence why it wouldn’t work with Starscream or most Decepticons).
And for his own sake, he needs someone both intellectual and compassionate enough to teach him the value and necessity of emotions and morals.
And someone who can bring out Shockwave’s already present softer side (in many iterations, Shockwave has a love for his pets / creations).
As for Nautica, she is dense when it comes to romance (just look at the number of femmes and mechs who have a crush on her). Part of it is her focus on projects, enjoying her friendships, etc. But I also think it’s her lack of confidence.
She is still very young and trying to find herself by exploring the worlds outside her birth city-state. She’s learning everyday and enjoying life, bringing sunshine wherever she goes.
In addition to her intelligence, her strength is her compassion and vulnerability. A vulnerability that is backed up by her ability to fight strategically. She also inspires others, friends or comrades.
I like to think of Shockwave becoming interested in her mind. And then her understanding of the world, her behaviors. Then it becomes an obsession. And he is confused because normally when he’s obsessed with something he takes it and puts it in his lab to figure out how it works and how he can use it.
Aside from the fact that the war is over and he can no longer do so without severe repercussions, he doesn’t actually… want to hurt the young femme.
On her part Nautica is a bit dense. She is interested in Shockwave as far as wanting to help him acclimate to the new reality of peace for their species. She also thinks he may be a potential lab buddy like she is with Brainstorm. But somehow, it’s … different.
She doesn’t understand why, and when she tries to ask her amica they get really uncomfortable and evasive.
All she knows is she likes being around Shockwave. He’s a much older tron than her but somehow he’s… childlike. Like a youngling freshly assigned to their mentor, curious and ignorant of the world but wanting to correct that. Sometimes to his own detriment.
He’s also incredibly honest. Shockwave was never one to play niceties when speaking. Many consider him rude or creepy but surprisingly to Nautica it’s… endearing. It makes her trust him and his words. (Which is incredibly strange as she knows he lied before & still does.)
The whole thing is incredibly confusing for the both of them. Thankfully they have projects to direct their focus. The fact that they work together on most of them is inconsequential.
What do you all think of the ship name “OceanWave”?

I think a reason why I'm a little critical on Marinette/Ladybug is because she doesn't think too hard on how her lies impacts others she's fine listening to others request without at least thinking too damn hard on her own if this is right or not as in the case of Fu and Gabriel. I'm shocked again because how in the world would you take a request from someone who has tormented the city people grief and hurt a lot of people and not throw them in jail?
I know it's weird to compare myself and her since it totally unrelated but like she's way too different from me to even consider the potential consequences of the future. I get she's 14 but how long will she keep this up I wish the writers bothered to at least give her a guilty conscious or contemplate the way s5 ended because how did she not freak out or be guilt ridden of lying to your boyfriend like she can't actually think she can keep this up can she?
I ain't mad I get she's nothing more than digital pixel it's more the writers that just get me annoyed if you understand because they're portraying her happily. She's smiling kissing her boyfriend while I'm just sitting down in the couch watching all this unfold and ask... Wtf was that happy ending for exactly she really allowed the bad guy to get away with no moral repercussions? I don't even care about the damn ship no more because this is more urgent the hero recklessly crossed a line and she gets a happy ending wtf?
I bet next season there's just going to act like it was a teeny weeny tiny mistake and she's sorry and Adrien the pitiful puppet will forgive her as the writers want.
Fourteen year old do know better i'm a little annoyed how people downplay their intelligence that or use it to justify everything she doesnt within the series are they making her become a villain or something. Like how much does she need to fumble the bag so hard she ain't worthy to be a guardian nor a leader from what I saw from the series after s4 and post s5.
Maybe I'm wrong is so i'm fine with being corrected. Rant over. Thank you for reading.
I agree. It's not the fact that she makes mistakes, it's that the narrative bends over backwards to justify her and pretend it's actually a good thing. She doesn't learn anything, she doesn't grow, and she doesn't change. It's a writing issue that spoils the whole show, I'm afraid.
Thank you for your ask!

Too many posts about how Chakotay would accept and follow Janeway no matter what she did for a man who was five seconds from starting a mutiny* against her in Equinox. He was 100% correct for almost doing that too but to me that means he would not be down with Janeway just doing whatever and has a strong sense of morality which is similar to but obviously not the same as Janeway’s and isn’t overridden by his affection for her.
Tumblr media
After Chakotay sees that Janeway’s willing to torture and potentially kill even one person for her sense of justice he strongly opposes her and seems ready to back up that objection with action if necessary. *There’s a vague indication at the end of the episode that to mutiny against her would be “crossing a line” and so he wouldn’t have done it but One) I personally feel that’s something easy to say after the crisis has been averted and there’s no longer any need for action. “I wouldn’t have done it” is easy when push is no longer coming to shove and you don’t want to think about whether or not you would have. “I wouldn’t have done it” - does Janeway say this to herself about the slaughter of the Equinox crew? Two) I still can’t imagine that Chakotay would have been happy, even if he hadn’t mutinied against her - he still would have strongly opposed her and did oppose her enough to be confined to his quarters.  and Three) This to me just reads as a ‘return to status quo’ easy line put in there to assure the audience that their relationship is unchanged when in reality I think such a large event would have to change their relationship in some way. Some lines require crossing. If someone you follow is doing something you consider morally wrong do you prize your loyalty to them over your own moral code? I believe it’s a very strong character choice that Chakotay’s answer seems to be ‘no.’ Until the very end of the episode it seems that there’s a limit to a ‘difference of opinion’ and he wouldn’t just let Janeway do something he considers evil unopposed because she’s the captain or he likes her. To say at the very end ‘Oh, he wouldn’t have ever gone against Janeway after all’ seems (to me) both disingenuous and weak from character writing standpoint.
In contrast, Tuvok also sees that Janeway has become obsessed with the idea of enacting revenge on the Equinox’s crew as he’s present for the ‘negotiation’ with the aliens in which Janeway literally promises the aliens that they can murder every last member of the ship.
Tumblr media
Tuvok’s answer is clear as we next see him on the bridge at his security post, actively helping Janeway with her plan despite knowing that, if successful, it’ll lead to the deaths of everyone on board. This is very interesting to me as he acknowledges that her behavior is irrational and as he doesn’t experience emotions and does temporarily oppose Janeway it isn’t as if he’s motivated by revenge or thinks this is a good plan/thing to do. However, I think his reasoning has something to do with the fact that he has so much trust in her. When she says “I know what I’m doing, Tuvok.” he believes her and is willing to follow along with her plan even if he personally might not like it. It’s a shame we don’t get more of Tuvok’s reasoning in this episode. He doesn’t have any more meaningful lines after this so we never really know why he doesn’t fight harder against Janeway but if I were to guess I’d guess it has something to do with what he says to Seven in Year of Hell.
Tumblr media
His trust in Janeway is absolute and he implies that he’d follow her and consider it the right thing to do even if he knew that her logic was flawed. That, to me, is also very interesting for a Vulcan.  Early on in the series Janeway tells Tuvok that he’s her moral compass, that she relies on him as both a friend and advisor - that she values him highly for his logic and depends on their relationship as Captain of the ship and as Janeway the person. She does this after bringing Tuvok a moral quandary which Tuvok attempts to ‘solve’ by making the difficult choice she can’t due to her ethical standards.
Tumblr media
Tuvok in this case knows that Janeway’s ‘highest priority’ is getting the crew home and that Janeway can’t accomplish this goal because she doesn’t want to break the law. However, Tuvok solves this by breaking the law for her. He acknowledges that Janeway won’t like this and says he’s prepared to lose his job and go to prison for it once they return to Federation space but to him it’s the logical choice and even at the very end of their conversation he upholds his decision as logical (as does Janeway, tempering it by pointing out how ‘logical’ reasoning is as prone to variance and the justification of wrong actions as ‘emotional’ reasoning.)
Tumblr media
I can’t help but wonder if this experience changed Tuvok since I can’t recall him ever really going against the Captain again and this sort of behavior/reasoning seems to be...not against his later stance of “The Captain is always right.” but more nuanced. He still thinks Janeway is ‘in the right’ and acts expressly so that Janeway can keep being ‘in the right’ while still fulfilling her goals. Equinox has a Maquis rebel, once considered a terrorist and now considered a dear friend, your first officer (banished from your sight) telling you that you’re doing the wrong thing, you’re hurting people out of a sense of vengeance, he doesn’t even recognize you anymore. “I won’t let you do this,” he shouts through the vents. “You can’t do this!” Meanwhile your security officer, moral compass and friend of twenty years and counting is standing at the ready, pointing his finger at the sacrificial wolf-turned-lamb (an optical illusion, it changes depending on where you stand) that wronged you. “Right there,” he’s saying though he objected to this once as well and kept silent thereafter. “There’s the heart.” I don’t know. I don’t have any grand conclusion to this, I just thought it was interesting! Chakotay-Janeway-Tuvok morality play, when?

Hi! I found you through the post-chain of clones and torture (I appreciated the possibilities it means and how it made me stop and reflect) and I would love to hear more about the nuances in Clone/Jedi ships, if you have the time one of these days!!
I would think the field mine that is the power imbalance alone between a general and their commander is loads, without taking into account freedom/who is considered a person/who has the power to say no. What else would you flag? *ready to take notes*
Feel free to keep this private, as you mentioned the distinction between Public/Private -- and if you're not comfortable feel free to not reply! I understand and I will keep on thinking about this on my own! :D
Hello!!! I want you to know this is the absolute dream ask to get, you are a gem and I am so glad my meta has got you thinking. If I have to be thinking about this at least I don’t have to be thinking about it alone, lol. I’m gonna go ahead and post this publicly because it’s not targeted to any particular ship it’s more about my understanding of the Jedi.
Alright, clone/Jedi ships, where to start… First of all I do read and write for various clone/Jedi ships, I don’t have any kind of moral “you’re a bad person for shipping this” agenda here. I just find the trends of what issues fandom chooses to address within these ships and what issues fandom tends to ignore to be personally frustrating.
You are 100% correct the power imbalance is massive, and the age gaps are nothing to sneeze at either. Depending on when the couple gets together there is also the slavery to contend with. But usually these are addressed in more serious fic. When a writer takes the characters and the ship seriously and wants to do the story justice, the slavery/power imbalance/age gap trifecta tend to be portrayed as Serious Things the couple needs to navigate. This is good! This is wonderful! These are indeed Serious Things a Jedi and clone couple will need to navigate if they want to make a go of it; everything surrounding consent and life experience and what they both want out of the relationship. These are hard conversations to have and difficult differences in life experience to navigate, but not impossible.
What makes it impossible for me to completely suspend my disbelief with any and every clone/Jedi ship is not anything to do with the power and consent issues inherent to the ship. It’s the fact that my own understanding of the Jedi and their no attachment policies gives me a kneejerk NO reaction whenever a Jedi gets into a committed romantic/sexual relationship and the writer portrays this as a good thing. The NO feeling increases when the partner is a clone and the relationship starts during the war.
I know in my heart various clones and Jedi developed intense feelings for each other during the war that could definitely be called attraction, or love, or develop farther into love. I know this. I know there was much drooling and many heart eyes. What I absolutely do not believe for a second is that any self respecting Jedi would even consider for a moment acting on those feelings. That is kinda the point of being Jedi. Entering into a romantic/sexual relationship with a person who is not legally recognized as a person and therefore has no rights or protections? A person whom YOU (Jedi you) holds literal power of life and death over? Absolutely the fuck not. NO. It does not matter if this person is perfect and wonderful and your soulmate and would gladly fuck you silly every night over the desk you two do paperwork on, There Are Standards! There Are Morals! There Are Codes!
If a Jedi and a clone start any kind of Anything during the war, that is a sign something has gone very very very wrong with the Jedi. There would be consequences from within the Jedi Order if this was discovered. Doesn’t matter if the perfect clone soulmate consents absolutely, this is about what it means to be a Jedi and what it means to hold power responsibly and what it means to follow a code of conduct and what it means to be a member of an organized religion. And that toxic “something is wrong but I don’t care because this feels so good” dynamic in and of itself would be interesting to explore, I have found a few fics that explore it, but more often than not a Jedi being in a committed relationship is hand-waved as long as it’s not marriage.
And that’s it. That’s my issue. When nothing starts until after the war and when it is made explicit that Jedi-- by the their own Order’s standards and expectations-- cannot and should not be in any kind of committed romantic/sexual relationship, then I have no problem suspending my disbelief and grinning as the dashing clone Commander and the noble Jedi Knight kiss passionately in the sunset. Good for them. Let them have their moment.
Because, Anakin and Padme are kind of a big deal. Like. The problem was not that they got married, the problem was they made a commitment to each other. Marriage represented and defined that commitment but the wedding was not the start of the toxic obsession and death was not the end of it. Anakin loved Padme with everything in him and loving people is good! Loving people and serving people with compassion is part of the point of being a Jedi! But committing all of your (Jedi your) love to a specific person is very much The Opposite Of Being A Jedi. This is a long and roundabout way of saying I think monogamy is against the Jedi religion actually.
This is also why Obi-Wan and Satine are kind of a big deal. I know what fandom thinks of that particular interlude but I really enjoyed it because it reinforces the whole-- monogamy is not a Jedi Thing. If you (Jedi you) want a committed sexual/romantic relationship, that’s cool, that’s fine, but you can’t have that and also be a Jedi. Jedi cannot have both. There are no handy loopholes for that rule. Because it’s not “Jedi cannot get married” it’s “Jedi cannot be committed to someone or something outside the Order.” And that is a good and logical and reasonable rule to have for an organization of space wizard monks. And it bothers me that a lot of fans who write the Jedi in romantic relationships and especially who write the Jedi in romantic relationships with clones don’t want to engage with that aspect of Being A Jedi and would rather handwave it or find a loophole, because we had three movies already on why there is no loophole and why Jedi cannot have both.

Emerging from my tumblr slumber to reignite the ship hc discussion >:)) thoughts on fujigoe??
YES!!!! I WAS WAITING FOR THIS ONE!!!!! i have Many thoughts on fujigoe and this is more of a strange appreciative ramble than hcs, so here’s your apology right off the bat!! I’LL MAKE THOSE HCS LATER MAYBE
the interesting thing about fujigoe is the complete takedown of the chase dynamic you find in so many other places with this group. goemon never actively seeks out fujiko’s romantic company-- it just kind of. happens to him. AND HE’S CERTAINLY NOT COMPLAINING MAKE NOOO MISTAKE but conversely i think that’s what draws fujiko to him too. goemon won’t even initiate something as simple as sitting next to you on a couch, where most people tend to throw themselves at her, DENY that they’d throw themselves at her, or just outright hate her, plain and simple. of course goemon is attracted to her, but… he doesn’t make it her BUSINESS until prompted. and i think that’s what makes them work a little bit. there’s a strange unintentional understanding at play there that you don’t fully get with any of the other matchups, at the very least certainly not with fujiko matchups
IN canon, fujiko was his “girlfriend” twice, but this isn’t even a step in their actual friendship developing to me. i haven’t said anything like this before with any of the others because i didn’t. really feel a big need to differentiate but fujigoe only truly “works” for me after a certain point, because throughout the 70s, fujiko treated goemon like a tool, to be honest, the same as the writers did, but at some point in the… 80s, if i had to guess? she started having this-- not really soft spot, but this particular attachment to him. from the specials on, she’s almost always pleased to see him, she’s very huggy with him, teases him just as much as jigen, and really, you could just as easily read this as one of the actual friendships in the series they let fujiko have and it’s an equally sweet, satisfying dynamic. but also it could just come from the fact that goemon’s loyalty is to HIMSELF more than lupin so if she says “i have a huge job lol” he comes RUNNING over. SOMETIMES IT’S NOT EVEN FOR A JOB HE JUST WOULD RATHER HANG WITH HER FOR A FEW DAYS
isn’t it interesting that goemon considers himself to have the strongest morals of the gang and fujiko openly declares she has the loosest? isn’t it wild that goemon is the most easily embarrassed and fujiko is the one constantly faking being shy and nervous? DON’T WE JUST LOVE CONTRAST!!!
you could break it down to “EXCUSE me he ASKED for no PICKLES” except the he in question was kind of eating the food with pickles anyway because it’s really not that huge of a deal to him, and when fujiko mentioned that they had ignored his request he just kind of glanced in the direction of the kitchen, went, “oh.” and shrugged and kept eating. if it were an honest to god issue he might politely but firmly correct them but he just doesn’t care, and fujiko is ready for an excuse to pick a fight with that asshole behind the counter anyway!
ending on a kind of serious note, after years of being around each other and gradually earning the other’s respect and whatever form of trust you can get being cutthroat thieves, i bet it’s very… nice, on the small occasions when theyre vulnerable with each other. both of them tend to be guarded in different ways, so just unclenching for once and resting against each other is probably a big highlight of the day, if not the week, for them both. there’s only so many things that the two of them can’t just take for themselves, and this specific kind of comfort is one of them
but hey ignoring all of that fujiko told goemon to get a phone JUST to call her and her alone and he went “O.K.” so ladies if he wanted to, he would, etc etc

Voyager rewatch s4 ep 16: Prey
More Hirogen stuff, this time with Species 8472, but the real story is between Janeway and Seven, and Seven's refusal to follow orders.
The fact that Seven is basically allowed free rein to do whatever she wants, without being given a uniform, and a rank, and a specific job description, seemed like bad idea from the start, and in this episode it leads exactly where anyone who isn't a dumbass would expect, with Seven believing she's somehow above the rest of the crew, and refusing to follow Janeway's orders when she tells Seven to help an injured Species 8472 creature escape Hirogen hunters and get back home.
Seven has no sympathy for Species 8472 after all the Borg they destroyed, and she thinks they should hand it over to the Hirogen, who were chasing it, so they won't come after Voyager. Janeway refuses to hand the injured creature over to the Hirogen to be killed, and when the Hirogen attack Voyager to get to the creature, both it and the Hirogen break loose when forcefields go down. Seven is sent to sedate the creature with Borg nanoprobes, but instead, transports both the creature and the Hirogen to one of the Hirogen ships, who break off their attack and leave with their prey. Since their attack disabled Voyager's warp drive, they can't follow to try to rescue the creature.
Janeway is obviously livid, especially after the story she told Seven about the importance of compassion, and how it can help you connect to your humanity. Seven is totally unmoved by anything Janeway says, and declares that she made the best tactical decision. Janeway tries to explain that whether she was right or wrong is immaterial when there's a command structure to be followed, but Seven responds that she should be allowed to do what she wants now that she's an individual. Janeway confines her to quarters and restricts her from accessing key systems as punishment, but Seven simply doubles down on her assertion that she was right because Voyager would have been destroyed without her action, and she thinks Janeway is a hypocrite because she only wants her to be an individual if she thinks the same way she does. Seven's obviously still too immature to understand that thinking whatever you want and acting on it are two different things, and Captain's orders need to be obeyed even if you disagree with them. They're left with a stalemate, since what Seven did can't be undone, and they'll never know what would have happened if they'd done what Janeway decided.
On the one hand, Seven's willingness to consider the safety of the ship and crew of Voyager as the most important thing is actually pretty human, and shows how much she's come to feel at home there. On the other hand, her lack of compassion for the wounded creature shows how far she still has to go to fully embrace her humanity, and her refusal to trust the Captain's judgement threatens the command structure they rely on to function. Seven is correct that if Voyager had been destroyed by the Hirogen, morals wouldn't matter, but Janeway knows that if they abandon their principles to save themselves, it would destroy them in the end, just as surely. While Janeway is in the right, Seven's point of view isn't totally wrong either- it just betrays her immature understanding of right and wrong, and that she's acting out of fear. But that's why she's not the Captain, and why she's supposed to obey Janeway.
The biggest problem here is her lack of trust and respect for the Captain, and Janeway's tolerance of it, which feels out of character, to be honest. If anyone else had behaved the way Seven did in this episode, they'd have been relieved of duty and sent to the brig long before it got to where it did here. It's especially frustrating because I don't think they would ever write a male captain as tolerating that kind of insubordination, and I don't think they'd have let the upstart insubordinate kid get the last word in every argument in every scene if it were Picard, or Sisko. It's one thing to have an episode that raises the question of if or when disobeying orders is merited, but the moral quandary is obscured when the story itself is more focused on undermining the Captain at every turn. It's a larger problem that they were setting themselves up for for several episodes now, as they made Seven meaner and more defiant, but never showed or explained why, which just made it feel like conflict for the sake of conflict, and without a clear reasoning behind it, it makes it that much harder to resolve in a way that makes sense. Unfortunately, it won't be resolved in one episode. (Or ever, really, but that's an issue to be tackled in subsequent episodes.)
Tl;dr: An okay episode that raises some interesting questions about whether disobeying orders is or isn't justified in certain circumstances, but ultimately falls short of the mark by undermining Captain Janeway's authority too much.

MariPav Omake Ficlet - “...With Lingering Side Effects”
@driftwoodmfb drew the result(s) of what would happen if you fused MariPav's Marx and Magolor together and for some reason my mind went right to the classic "matter transporter accident" trope.
So, I wrote a little script bit exploring that very thing...!! (It’s mostly fluffy with a side of thoughtful!)
---
<On the ship>
Magolor: "Muahaha... Now THIS is interesting...!"
Marx: "What?"
Magolor: "Did you know, Marx, that the Lor actually has a matter transportation function...for people!"
Marx: "Like a teleportation spell?" "I don't see what the big deal is. I can use teleportation magic. Doesn’t require an Ancient artifact.”
Magolor: "How wonderful for you. Have you considered others for once in your life?" "Now, what's interesting about this is that it's not listed among any of the ship's main systems. It's buried deep within the code. I'm not sure I would have discovered it had I not had to make so many custom routines to speed up data processing to deal with the extreme workload I'm putting on the ship given its power supply. Isn't life is full of little miracles?!"
Marx: "Mags...? Did you stop to consider this function might be hidden because they never got all the bugs figured out?"
Magolor: "We'll find out. As I'm testing it right now!"
Marx: "...Heh! Good luck not getting turned inside out!"
Magolor: "Same to you. Heh heh heh."
Marx: "...Huh?"
Magolor: "I'm teleporting us both! Simultaneously. For safety's sake."
Marx: "S-Safet--?! Hey, hey, hey! Hold up, you mad scient---!"
---
<BWEEM to just outside the volcano>
???: "...iiiiiist.......?"
???: "Huh. We didn't end up trapped inside a rock like I feared we would. But of course, I trusted myself the entire time. No I didn't? I thought that was insane. How long have I been living on this crazy planet that I've taken to experimenting with poor, innocent, positively-fascinating-though-often-annoying creatures like myself to... Hmm?? Why am I...both of us...?!"
Tumblr media
Margolox: "Wha--ooh, hey, this is...fascinating!"
Margolox: "Also, I have...legs again. Except I've always had legs. Not...always...? Mostly, then. Mostly...?? Well, hmm, I'll just have to agree to disagree on this with myself, won't I? No, it's the hands are new. Are they really? Completely new? In this form? Yes, didn’t I explain that to myself? Interesting. Then I'd love to know what's different about them. Though I already know, don't I...? I know...so much... Two lifetimes worth..."
Margolox: "There are so many memories now. Conflicting ones. And ones that feel...frighteningly similar. And memories I don't want to touch. Are those MY memories that I'm afraid to revisit...or do I want to avoid them because they are MINE and I'm the one looking at them, not myself? Is it because I'm me and not me that I'm afraid to let myself get any closer to me? But...if I'd know that I was so much like me, maybe...I wouldn't have to be afraid to let myself in a little..."
---
<BWEEM to back inside the ship>
Marx: "...GAH!!!!'
Magolor: "...Ah..."
Tumblr media
Marx: "What the hell, Mags?!" "...Huh? We're ourselves again?!"
Magolor: "...Yes. What, did you think I HADN'T planned for the possibility of this orphaned routine accidentally scrambling our data together and fusing us into an amalgamate being? (We have entertainment programs on Halcandra. I know my sci-fi tropes!)" "I set several failsafes and some very generous rollback code to restore us to our original physiological patterns after a set period of time if any of the expected anomalies occurred."
Marx: "Maybe you’re a genius after all? Doesn't make you any less of a mad scientist though!"
Magolor: "You like the fact that I play fast and loose with my morals."
Marx: "Who said I do?"
Magolor: "...Your mind."
Marx: "...!!!"
Magolor: "Though I need to correct you on your assumptions. It's not purely thrill-seeking on my part. My choices are born from necessity--"
Marx: "I know. I...saw...the the stuff you had to go through..."
Magolor: "...Mm......"
Marx: "It messes with your head to have other people's thoughts in there, I know..."
Magolor: "Yes... And yet...as galling as the invasion of privacy was..."
Both: " "..." "
Both: ((..I found it strangely comforting...))
Magolor: "W-well...I say we break on repairs for the day!" "The one thing I hadn't planned for was the, err, let's call it a mental toll. I may need some time...to sort through things a little."
Marx: "Same."
Magolor: "...Marx?"
Marx: "Yeah, Mags...?"
Magolor: "..." "Nothing."
<They head off in opposite directions>
Both: (( ...It was maybe the first time I didn't feel so alone...))
Both: (( ...now that feeling's gone...and all that's left is emptiness...))
Tumblr media
<Later>
Marx: (My legs...hurt. My back too. Like I could never get comfortable. It hurt the whole time we were fused together. Magolor can’t be in that much pain constantly...can he...?)
Magolor: (Marx’s mind... It was so crowded with-...I don’t even know WHAT that was... But I don’t understand how he can concentrate on anything when his brain is always screaming...)

BTS for "In This Darkness, I Have You"
Fic Specific Asks
BTS: I’ll write a DVD commentary about my personal favorite passage from [that fic]
OMG thinking about this fic for the first time since 2019. It’s been ages, so I’m just going to read through it and comment on anything that comes to mind!
So for context, the main premise of this is basically my take on the obligatory vampire period sex trope with alutegra lmfao. But specifically imagined as like a once a month no strings attached arrangement where integra REFUSES to ever acknowledge that there is like anything going on between them whatsoever. Mostly because she just can’t bear to actually unpack anything about their dynamic.
I tend to interpret Integra as just incredibly overworked and exhausted and also just. kind of emotionally stunted from having to bear the burden of acting like an adult from the age of twelve. She only knows how to compartmentalize and move on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So this is obviously scene setting, leaning into the Tropes and horror angle. I always like making clear that Alucard is scary and gross lmao, and also that Integra’s super desensitized to it. This bit particularly though I also wanted to convey that he’s trying really hard!! It’s showmanship for her, he’s trying to put on a face that he thinks she expects and will be into.
Tumblr media
So the fic takes place over the backdrop of a storm and the power going out. I think in context of the single one shot it feels a little jarring tbqh because of how things stop about twice to address it, but this fic fits into a continuity of a longer chapter fic I never actually wrote the entirety of. (Maybe one day?) And I think more mundane asides work better in that context. That being said it’s a (somewhat heavy handed?) metaphor. Integra just automatically blames him. He’s not correcting her, but it’s also like actually not his fault, and that comes up later. Idk tying into her perception of him as just more collected and in control of things than he actually is.
Tumblr media
I’m generally very drawn to ship dynamics where one character just Can Not deal with being loved. But particularly in this case I think she just can’t like morally and ethically square it, because she feels immensely guilty for the whole… eternal servitude aspect but also doesn’t know what to do about any of it.
I think conversely Alucard truly just doesn’t care. He’s being honest when he asks if it matters. Sure, maybe their entire dynamic is fucked, so what?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is condensed to see mostly the dialogue. I had a lot of fun with this back and forth! and like Alucard as a temperamental, mercurial type.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The return of the power outage subplot lmao! The Walter cameo was fun to me though. It’s really abrupt and it shakes up the mood a lot. I love writing a very over attentive Walter, perhaps because he’s perpetually feeling guilty…
I also just have a fun time writing him as a very intense mothering type. Kind of unsure how to care for Integra, especially now as an adult where she does not need caring for.
Anyway that last paragraph is a fairly crucial misunderstanding of Alucard I think. Again she doesn’t want to consider him being emotionally involved in anything! He does lash out and like deliberately fuck with her a lot but a) this would NOT be the time b) she views it as like this is just something he does as opposed to like letting herself see why.
Tumblr media
And he plays into that perception! He’s like don’t mind me, I’m just silly!! Because admitting to genuine vulnerability is fucking humiliating and also when not in the heat of the moment, being bitter about the fact that she might like actually be grossed out by the prospect of him being in love with her, he absolutely knows that if they Have That Conversation she is going to fucking dump him entirely lmao. So he’s trying to shut the fuck up and not ruin things
Tumblr media
And yeah this just further solidifies the points I was trying to make earlier. This fic is not subtle lmao. And if it wasn’t already clear, I just really like getting into Alucard being genuinely fragile.
Generally this fic doesn’t *resolve* anything between them. I don’t think anything I’ve ever written for these characters had a real resolution or solving of problems, just because there’s too much baggage to actually solve anything. But I think they end it with a slightly better understanding of each other. And Integra still has just as many issues with it rip.
Idk if this is potentially annoying to anyone who’s read it and liked the softer ending where she asks him to stay the night regardless of the dramatic conversations. But uh…. in the larger continuity that this fic falls into she’s absolutely going to start avoiding him after this lmao. Which Alucard, in turn, is not going to take well! They’re very dysfunctional.
Which isn’t the complete end of the romantic relationship either, because their boundaries are atrocious. But yeah this fic is def not the end/entire scope of that conflict.

Oooooo~
Now you got me curious about what problematic opinions you have on that show, lol (you don’t have to tell them if you don’t want to of course!)
- same anon as the one who asked “Do you watch attack on titan?” Btw
(Spoilers if you haven’t watched the show)
I guess my problematic opinion can be summarized by the fact that I like the idea of the Rumbling being the end of the show. I know technically it isn’t the end because there’s a long fight where they stop Eren or something, but personally, I like the idea of Eren simply succeeding in carrying out the Rumbling and having to live with the consequences afterwards.
Just to clarify before I continue, I’m not taking a position on whether Eren was morally correct. I think that’s a very complicated question. My only point here is that it was a fascinating twist and made a great story with an impactful (yet extremely fucked up) ending.
Here’s the thing. The show begins with Eren as a child, watching his entire world violently crumble before his eyes. He vows to kill “every last one” of the Titans—in other words, those responsible for the destruction of his home and death of his mother. And at the time, this is a perfectly heroic idea. Given what the audience and characters know about the Titans at this point, they’re nothing but mindless monsters that destroy and eat people for no reason. They don’t even need to do it for food; they literally just eat people for no reason other than it’s fun or something.
But then as the show progresses, so does the context. It complicates things. We find out along with the characters that Titans aren’t just mindless monsters. They’re people, or at least used to be people. And more importantly—that there is an entire world outside of the walls and island full of people who are in fact controlling the Titans and using them as a weapon against the people within Eren’s home.
When the characters travel to Marley, we get even more context. There is basically a race war going on; Eldians (Eren’s people) are considered subhuman monsters by the rest of the world, and that was their motivation for using the Titans to attack and destroy Eren’s home. He sees the full reasoning behind the most traumatic event of his life, and the fact that it was intentional and actually supported by the rest of the world.
So what does Eren do? Well, he does the exact same thing he’s being saying he was going to do throughout the show: he kills them all, every last one. Everyone he considers responsible for that event.
And to me, that’s the beauty of it. Eren’s character and motivations are fundamentally always the same, but the context reframes his beliefs in actions in the eyes of the audience. He seems like a complete hero at first with no ambiguity. But then as things become more nuanced in regards to what “kill them all” actually means…that line between hero and villain becomes ambiguous until we get to the point where Eren turns into a literal monster and sets out to massacre the majority of the world’s population.
Yes, it’s fucked up, and I think it’s so fucked up that the writers will never have the guts to end it there. But it’s such a fascinating narrative. Everything comes full circle with Eren ending the story the same way he started it, only this time, he’s the monster. Eren’s character not changing, but our perception of him changing so drastically. I think that’s a great story.
Also ngl something something about the guilty pleasure of a power fantasy in which someone who has been beaten down and oppressed getting the opportunity to wipe out everyone who hurt them
But I’m going to call it a problematic opinion because I know how fandom is and this take probably makes me a genocide supporter or Nazi apologist or something based on the little snippets of AOT discourse I’ve been exposed to.
As for ships, don’t even ask lmao because to me, what I just talked about is what makes the story so compelling. Idgaf about who’s fucking who; it’s just one of those shows where I don’t care about romance.

No judgment here but is the reason you're getting a lot of hate due to affiliating yourself with anti spaces (with the proship dni stuff in bio)? Im not in any of either side of that (im normal lol) but know they can be particularly brutal in bullying people out of their spaces or that they dont feel are "good" or "morally correct" enough.
Maybe you'd just get less hate specifically listing who in that vein you don't want to interact with? It seems like people get the most peace by staying out of it and just curating their spaces without those terms.
Either way i hope people chill and leave you alone about it. Dont let them get you down.
Yeh, you're right about that. Although I have seen many people without receiving that type of hate even if they have a dni in bio and liking problematic characters, or not simply a “proshippers dni”, but a large extensive specific list of dni. But I mean, like, I think that not everyone would feel comfortable having someone who ship things that are not well seen like incest and problematic things. Personally it is too uncomfortable and unpleasant. I just don't want people who enjoy content like this to interact with me.
Of course, no one is the most morally correct. But I just want to get away from those types of people. Without needing to attack or anything, I just block them and that's it. The Dni in my bio is only for that people who enjoy that kind of content understand that this blog is not a place for proshippers.
And the same goes for the people who harass me with those stuff, if people don't like my content or the simple fact that my content is based more on a character like bro strider, if it makes them uncomfortable or displeases them, there is no Nothing is simpler than blocking me or ignoring him, it's much easier than wasting time attacking. Just keep any stupid comments inside u head and move on with your life bud.
I feel uncomfortable with proshippers and it is completely valid, so do the people who dislike my blog. They have every right to not like something. The problem is that people take the fact that I “like” a problematic character just to call me a hypocrite and shit. And there have been many times that I repeat over and over again that I only like his fanon (and healty headcanons) of that character. I don't even defended actions like that or shit to be attacked like that. It's totally ridiculous. I, at least I, do not consider myself problematic to be called a hypocrite. (or also receive “KYS” on my inbox. It's fucking surreal lmfao)
It's not like I did the worst thing in the world to receive something like that. As far as I know I never did any kind of problematic action or supported problematic things. I simply “like” a character and that's it. People get mad easily or are they right? I just don't know, I'm not sure and I don't understand. I'm tired of explaining it over and over again
Regarding the list and things like that, I will keep it in mind. And thanks for the message :)

Okay so I saw some prev tags on the art you just shared that said something to the effect of: “I am desperately trying not to ship obikin but I so get the general appeal” And I am frothing at the mouth!!
Do you have any thoughts on why Obikin is viewed as this ~taboo~ ship when there are literally thousands of hetero romance books and ships out there with older man/younger woman, teacher/mentor, daddy kink, etc, etc tropes?? Like even tame hetero romance books (yes I know I am Showing My Whole Ass here) feature wider age gaps or far less equitable power dynamics with seemingly no issue?? Maybe I’m over sensitive? Maybe a combo of the fact that it’s a homosexual relationship set in one of the most popular fandoms of all time?
I’m just trying to live my life!! I need to stop reading tags and mind my own business! Sorry for dragging this to your door step!!
This has very much been a hot topic as of late where a lot of us obikin content creators are getting a lot more general attention than normal from outside our little corner of fandom. And I think it really just boils down to homophobia. Yeah people would get hella offended by you saying that, but the allowance of problematic tropes or icky power dynamics or questionable morality in Heterosexual romances while not allowing it in queer ones is an issue! It’s this societal expectation that’s been drilled into people’s heads that,oh you little gay house pets,we’ll accept and allow you and your representation, but only if you fit within an approved narrative or a dynamic we see as uwu cinnamon roll pure babies. I hate it,I hate it so much because it’s a policing of queer spaces to make them palatable to westerners who view queerness through a very specific lens, aka a colonial, white,Christian one.
@binaryeclipse made an excellent point on @intermundia ‘s post about this very issue.
Statistically speaking, queer relationships tend to have larger age gaps than heterosexual ones. This can be for a variety of reasons but usually people are gravitated towards people with different life experiences so that we can experience a broadening of our horizons and thus more fulfillment in our romantic lives. You can find that in a generational gap. So when people begin to point to the age gap as part of the source of obikin's "problematic" nature, they run the risk of treading into homophobic territory. Are you uncomfortable because there's actually an "abuse of power" going on, or are your biases for queer relationships to be only "wholesome" and analogous to heterosexual ones showing?— @binaryeclipse
We have a history, specifically in the United States,of large age gaps in queer relationships because of the AIDS epidemic. It’s built within queer culture here, and is a well known dynamic from that era on top of a dynamic well established through human history. Which only further infuriates me,because people say they “accept” queerness, but when queer relationships exist outside of their narrow world view of acceptable and non-problematic than it turns into a policing of morality from a very specific, white, western,Christian point of view. It’s a similar problem to the extreme policing and schisms in the present queer community, where you have gay youths who say if you don’t use the correct terminology or the correct flag or the correct form of expression or identity, than you’re problematic. The trans women at Stonewall who called themselves transsexual and those surviving STILL identify that way would be branded homophobic or a bigot for what some consider to be outdated language and views.
This is all to say, that it comes from a perspective of queerness that demands and expects it to fit within a perfect, whitewashed, clean and unproblematic wholesome mold in order to be accepted and tolerated. The expectation and demand for queerness to meet a perfect standard of acceptability and cleanliness is inherently homophobic. It stems from the same belief system that gayness is inherently sexual, that gay men are inherently pedophiles, and the belief that queerness is only palatable if perfectly pc and within the confines of acceptability.
Does this mean you’re homophobic for not liking obikin? No of course not that’s an absurd statement. But the vitriol people react to it,with calls of it being disgusting and based in power imbalance and incest is. Because the tunnel vision view of queer ships only being okay to ship if they’re unproblematic,is saying that heterosexual romance is allowed to exist in its base and complicated and gray forms, but queerness must be held to a stricter and higher standard in order to be okay. It’s the same as any marginalized group only being accepted if they’re the smartest, the most well behaved, the top 1% while the majority get away with skating by because of who they are. You don’t have to like obikin, you don’t have to like obikin shippers, but the assertion that the ship is dirty and wrong for a dynamic that queer people have loved one another in and engaged in all through human history? Maybe you should self evaluate to examine why you feel that way,and if it’s out of discomfort from going against what you’ve been taught as acceptable love, than I think you should further examine that.

a/n: if i offend or misinterpret anything in this hc, please feel free to message and correct me otherwise. i will always try to correct or delete this post if asked so <33
sending my love to all those who identify as bisexual <33
wc: (1.5k) - m.list
Tumblr media
dream -
considering his prideful personality sometimes, you probably wanted to play with his ego and drop subtle hints
not anything too obvious, but enough to make him kick himself when he realizes
though it was admittedly difficult since he plays into the dnf ship so much that he thinks you’re also joking more than half the time
imagine you two were in a voice call one evening and randomly discussing the recent fanon and what would be funny to turn into canon (to mess with the fandom)
you’ve been recently shipped with two other content creators, both of opposing female and male gender, separately and together
“Honestly, I wouldn’t mind hitting that.” “Which one?” “Both.”
He’d laugh, but you didn’t.
“Wait, you’re serious? You actually identify as…?” “Bisexual. Yeah, I’m pretty sure anyway.” “Y/n, that’s amazing.”
takes pride in the fact that you trust him, but would feign being upset that you messed with him for as long as you did
be jokingly offended if he found out someone knew before him
“Wait…” “Yes?” “You told Bad??” “Yeah, he was one of the first.” “W— Why??”
It was your turn to laugh while he gawked in disbelief.
“It’s Bad! Of course I told him.” “… Fair enough.”
hate is a given, and he’ll always be there to support and defend you
he’ll always ask your permission before taking any action, however, because he respects you too much and knows you can fight your own battles
dream is someone will show relentless support, whether that be through words or moral support, he’ll always be there for you
c!technoblade -
i honestly feel like you never officially came out to techno
as you began to recognize yourself as bisexual, you slowly expressed yourself around him more openly to the point where he unconsciously knew
it’d probably would have hit him in the most random moment after months of assuming he knew
imagine you’re in the midst of battle when techno paused entirely with wide eyes
“Y/n!” “What!?” “Are you gay??”
you would tease him when discussing your love life in one-sided conversations with him; him basically choosing to ignore you when you talk to him
“Honestly, Techno, how could you not want to hit that?” “Please, just stop.”
(i’ve written this before but will stand by this that) he truly doesn’t care for your sexuality
you’re a friend, someone he trusts and relies on, he doesn’t need to consider who you’re attracted to since he sees you for your skills and friendship
the only, and only time he is mindful of your sexuality depends on others unnecessary comments about it
the smp is a known judgement free land, but there will always be someone with ignorant opinions that he is always quick to shut down (or kill)
nothing much can be said besides the fact that you’ll always be y/n to him: a loyal friend and someone he would fight the world for
ranboo -
oh sweet ranboo, dear ranboo
considering how openly supportive and kind he naturally is, you didn’t question the idea of telling him
i’d like to imagine that unlike most where you planned or waited to tell, the moment you knew, he would know soon after
imagine you called him before he began his lore stream to hype him up
you both were talking about more mundane things to calm his nerves as people joined when you brought it up
“Oh actually, before you start, I wanted to tell you something.” “Sure, what is it?” “Well, I— I’m Bisexual.” “…You’re tELLING ME THIS WHEN I’M ABOUT TO START MY STREAM??” “Y/n! I’m so happy for you, that’s amazing!”
he’s incredibly patient concerning how you wanted others to know or when you were ready to be completely out
similar to c!techno with the same beliefs you’re still y/n, and nothing has changed besides you coming out as yourself
he’s your go to when days are rough, because he knows how to help you understand you’re still loved as the same y/n and nothing less
“Hey, hey, listen to me. I love you, y/n. We all do, and you’ll never be alone when things get rough, alright?” (love /p)
knows how to silently deal with hate in his chat unless it becomes evident enough to address it (doesn’t want to bring attention to meaningless words until it becomes serious)
ranboo’s your rock and makes show that he’ll never believe anything other than that you deserve love
tommyinnit -
as someone who took pride in defending the LGBTQ+ community, you had no hesitation when coming out to tommy
if any, your reluctance would come from accepting yourself to the point to be open with other people
it’s not as if he didn’t accept you, he could never imagine doing so in the slightest, but he probably wouldn’t know what to say initially
imagine you both were in the midst of playing bedwars together in a recording for a video
he had been busy gathering emeralds while you remained at the base, and the comforting silence gave you the confidence to blindly address it
“Hey Tommy?” “What, y/n? I’m in the middle of something right now.” “Oh, um, I’m pretty sure I’m bisexual.” “…” “…Tommy?” “…” “T— Tommy?”
it’d be dead quiet for a few seconds before you heard the noise of him rustling in realization
“Wait wait wait, you’re serious? You’re bisexual?” “Haha yeah, yeah, I am.” “WHA—!”
he was happy for you, to say the least
tommy loves to joke, and one he loved to make would be your attraction to both genders
you like women? pog!
you like men? a shame, honestly
if you were publicly out, his favorite bit would be to include you in his obnoxious swooning
imagine he was streaming while talking about his love for women
“Boys, honestly, the ladies just can’t resist me.”
The ding of discord notified you entering the call, the sound of your laughter immediately coming through.
“I agree, Tommy, I definitely agree.” “Y/n! You are attracted to women, and I am also attracted to women. You can agree women are amazing, yes?” “I can, Tommy. Women are indeed amazing.” “Good lad!” “Tommy, you do realize I’m not only attracted to w—” “Shush, we don’t speak of that.”
he showed his support by normalizing your sexuality, his acceptance quick and easily integrated into your lives
(this is getting long but—) tommy was well aware he lacked some knowledge when being in the LGBTQ+ community, but openly voiced his ignorance as a sign of awareness itself
he was always quick to correct either himself or others, he refused to accept slander of any type in his streams
would probably try to keep it light heartedly, but scold nonetheless
tommy was your figurative cheerleader, always there to include and uplift you, whether that be through the smallest gestures or loudest cheers
tubbo -
poor tubbo
since he wasn’t the most careful with secrets, you probably withheld telling him till you were ready for most to know
this isn’t to deter anything of not trusting him, he’s still supportive and loving tubbo that wouldn’t dare do anything purposeful against you
if anything, you might have forgotten that he didn’t know when you were casually taking about it within a group
imagine you and Ranboo were trying to get him to sleep one early morning but gave up
you started talking about personal stuff and the topic of your love life came up, specifically the attraction to someone of the same gender
“I don’t know, Ranboo, I mean, I think I like them but at the same time I’m not sure.” “That’s fai—” “Wait, y/n. You’re gay??” “Bisexual, actually.” “WaAA—”
his very sleep deprived state was extremely happy and emotional for you
he’s like the little duckling with a knife, like he loves you completely but will try to hurt anyone that offends you
like tommy, he has no personal knowledge when being in the LGBTQ+ community but will solely learn for your sake
whether you’re younger or not, tubbo never fails to remind you that he looks up to you
he gives his all and won’t hesitate to provide in any way he can if needed
“You matter,” he’ll always say, “you’re important and no one else’s opinion matter.”
is proud to be your friend and expresses his platonic love in full, for you’re you and are so brave to be yourself despite all

Unnamed Extremely Bad Plan to Defeat Darth Sideous AU - SW AU NO 9
Hopefully writing down this star wars au will help me exorcise the cringe demon that helped midwife it. Time travel au where obi-wan and Anakin come up with an extremely SPECIFIC and UNCOMFORTABLE plan to defeat Palpatine because it unfortunately, would actually work, as it capitalizes on one of Palpatine’s easiest to reach political vulnerabilities. This is not a unique plan- there are other au’s like this, but this one is mine. When searching for ways to explain exactly why this anti-sith strategy inspires such cringe and delight in myself I realized, with sinking dread, I have seen this in an Always Sunny episode...which yeah. I might be over reacting but hey, cringe is a personal phenomenon, everyone’s different.
Anyway! Uh here’s a bunch of plot that will eventually culminate in the plan.
*Too much plot, aaaah*. **All plot actually.** ***Its 1 am and this is still a draft*** ****It’s 2am**** *****This post will be just be background I guess.*****
*******STAR WARS AU NO 9 LAZILY OUTLINED CHAPTER ONE*********
Force ghosts Darth Vader and Ben Kenobi have had time to yell at one another without need for breath, and have more-or-less come to terms with the trainwreck that was their shared life. I wouldn’t call them well adjusted, but they’re more stable then they were the last decade or so of their living existence.
In haunting Luke, they end up encountering an artifact in an ancient Willis temple that offers spirits the chance to fix the mistakes they made in life. It doesn’t truly unwrite what’s been done, but it lets you create an alternate timeline. So this galaxy will still be what it is, but some alternate galaxy somewhere could at least have it better. Its almost never been used, because becoming one with the force usually lets you accept the past, but viewed objectively, Vader and Ben’s lives involved an extreme amount of yikes. They say goodbye to Luke and are flung backwards and sideways.
Anakin is holding his mother as she dies. Obi-Wan is landing on Genosis.
Vader just barely manages to avoid slaughtering the tuskens. To be honest, he doesn’t really get why he shouldn’t- his moral compass is still pretty f-ed up. He’s fairly certain the force is just torturing him, but still he controls himself (for Padme for Luke for Leia).
I’m gonna say well-adjusted!Vader sees murder in general as more of a vice than a sin- on par with having a beer. And really well adjusted Vader is willing to admit to himself that he’s an alcoholic, he seriously cannot regulate, its a problem. He really can’t let himself go, because he’ll just end up spiraling. And so he restrains himself and only seriously maims a few of the adult raiders.
Vader figures he can always come back later and slowly torture them to death if this whole ‘save the future’ thing doesn’t pan out.
Obi-wan leaves his shuttle and hides under a rock for 30 minutes. He calculates thats just enough time for him to pretend he went on an extremely effective and sneaky fact finding mission- just in case anyone checks R4′s records. Gets back in shuttle and gets the fuck out of there, much to Dooku’s chagrin, who lost sight of him after the shuttle landed and is now going to have to switch to one of his alternate start-the-war plans.
On the flight back he reports everything to the council- fallen Dooku and the separatist leaders, the trade federation and the massive droid army, Jango Fett the clone template of the republic army (?) working for the separatists. He briefly comms Anakin, but anyone hacking into their conversations would hear only a nonsensical, rambling conversation. Later, a hacker might turn over the idea that they were speaking in elaborate code, but why would Jedi invent such a thing during peacetime?
The war still starts; at this point in the timeline it was inevitable; the artifact was only designed to give them the chance to correct their own failings, not the galaxy’s. Palpatine still gets his emergency powers.
The same day the armies are discovered, separatist war ships take off to engulf Ryloth. The Jedi are instructed by the senate to lead the clone army and provide immediate relief-this will not be a repeat of the republic’s inaction on Naboo. It’s both better and worse than the first Battle of Genosis. So many more civilians are caught in the crossfire. The first titanic battle is not contained to evacuated droid factories, but rages across an entire populated world. The battle lasts for weeks.
The main reason this fight is less deadly is solely due to the fact that General Kenobi manages to maneuver his way into high command of the entire army.
“I believe assumptions were made since I was the first point of contact with Kamino, Masters,” the Knight explained apologetically to the arriving high council members. “I realize its not quite appropriate, but for right now I am the Jedi most familiar with our forces and the enemies. I would, of course, prefer to cede the role to someone else.”
The assembled Jedi can feel the truth in that statement.
“For better or for worse, advance troops were directed by the senate to land planetside and have met heavy resistance. I managed to redirect them to a more defensible position, where they can provide surface based cover fire for incoming reinforcements. The battle has already begun.” He received a grim nod of approval from Master Windu.
“I feel the need to say now, that if there’s one thing I learned from my time as a general on Melida/Dann, or in working against Death Watch on Mandalore, its that having a clear chain of command is vital for a military to succeed. I don’t need to remind some of you that leadership breakdowns were what ultimately ended both the Stark Hyperspace War and the Yinchorri Crisis,” Masters Koon and Tiin exchanged looks before deliberately sending forth a small force wave of approval, understanding where this briefing was leading.
“I believe that unnecessarily restructuring command before the battle is won here could do far more harm than good.” The reminder of Obi-wan’s unusually militaristic apprenticeship put some of the assembled knights at ease even as it inspired a twinge of guilt in the older masters.
“In command you are, General Kenobi,” Master Yoda finally acknowledged. “A Jedi Master you will be, once done this battle is. Have us do, what would you?”
The battle lasts for weeks, and when its over, the commanding Jedi and Troopers involved will openly acknowledge that had anyone else been in command, it would’ve lasted months, if not years. Facing down logistical, strategic, and tactical problems on a scale unheard of for a thousand years, High General Kenobi does not falter.
Enemy reinforcements seem unending. For all their preparation, every single trooper is new to war, and secretly concerned that should they fall, they will be replaced with cadets who hadn’t even finished their training.
Obi-Wan is putting out fires before they can start. Much to their shock, clone commanders are informed that they will, for the time being, remain in charge of their troops. With a handful of exceptions, Jedi ‘Generals’ were in fact, to be treated as a cross between highly skilled commandoes and advisors with abnormally sourced field intelligence.
“All of you have spent your lives training to lead your brothers into combat. The Jedi Masters and knights who are being assigned to your divisions have not received such training.”
General Kenobi addressed the division commanders, some in person, some over holocomm. All focused in rapt attention as their General reordered the shape of their lives using language they could understand.
“The command structure I am issuing is designed to maximize our ability to utilize our respective strategic capabilities, while minimizing potential loss of your life. It will be our great privilege to serve alongside such an army, and while I fully expect a complementary exchange of knowledge in time, for now, focus on survival.”
The Jedi received similar briefings, tailored for their broader array of combat and military experience. Some, including Jedi Master Pong Krell and Grandmaster Yoda, were pulled aside and tasked with the essential mission of infiltrating and destroying the Droid factories on Genosis. If they were to have a chance of winning this war, they they would need to cut off the seemingly unceasing flow of droid reinforcements.
An elite squadron of Arctroopers and Jedi field operatives were covertly dispatched, Grandmaster Yoda himself in command. Considering Count Dooku had yet to appear anywhere near Ryloth...the grandmaster had the best chance of bringing in the fallen separatist leader alive for questioning.
Shortly after they left, Anakin arrived, having finally turned over Padme’s protection to her regular guard. With the military creation vote past, the assassination risk was considered minimal. The real delay in his arrival came from her repeated attempts to join the Grand Army of the Republic on Ryloth with the intent of coordinating humanitarian assistance. Eventually he managed to convince her that she could do more good in the senate.
After all, he pointed out, someone would need to followup the military creation act with a bill to grant clones equal citizen rights. Otherwise, the legal grey area that cloning fell under and their non-republic origin would inadvertently make the clones slaves.
His borrowed Nabooan cruiser entered the warzone with the grace and efficiency as a small neutron bomb.
Those close enough to see its flaming descent watched in horror, realizing that the high generals own padawan would likely be a war casualty before he ever engaged in combat.
The legion nearest to soon-to-be-ground-zero, under the command of Captain Rex of the 501st, were distracted by heated combat, as the temporary barricade they had put up to defend the civilian population gave way to droidika artillery.
While reloading, several dozen troopers happened to look up to see a speck detach itself from the hull as at spiraled in the lower atmosphere. Hope spread that the Jedi had managed to activate some sort of eject hatch. A skilled shocktrooper could probably control and and survive such a fall with luck, which mean a Jedi almost certainly could.
A few tactical scouts charged with watching the skies confirmed that the speck was indeed a humanoid. No chute was visible, but even 8 days into the war, rumors had already spread about how Master Windu had passed off his chute mid-air to a troopers who had been damaged by suppressing fire, cushioning his free fall solely with the tank he crushed upon landing.
Only one trooper, stationed in the town clock tower specifically to track the Padawan’s arrival and issued with a high-resolution farscope, saw the whole thing. Fortunately for his credibility later, in its current setting, the scope automatically logged photos every 5 seconds, ensuring that for years to come Obi-Wan would have a flipbook as evidence that he was not the crazy one.
CT-3609 or Blink (as he was named after winning the division wide staring contest on Kamino two year prior) forwarded the trajectory of the vehicle to command, who confirmed his analysis that it would impact two clicks out from their makeshift fort and not present a risk to civilian or trooper lives.
As it traversed the stratosphere a figure (desperate repair droid, Blink assumed) emerged from the cockpit to perch on the nose of the ship. As it entered the troposphere, it became painfully obvious that the figure jutting out from the hull of the ship was in fact not a humanoid droid, but an unarmored human. The Jedi stood on the prow of the ship, seemingly impervious to and oblivious of:
air resistance
centrifugal force
normal space gravity
Blink’s slack-jawed bewilderment
the flames engulfing the ship below him
At this range, the smirk on the man’s face was visible (man? boy? kriff is he even through puberty?). Several miles above the surface he leaped, diving towards the ground like a bird of prey.
To the west, the ship made impact with the ground, sending a shockwave that shook the tower just enough for Blink to lose visual in the final moments of descent. Cursing, as while he was confident the Jedi would inexplicably survive, he really wanted to see how. The trooper scanned the droid-engulfed farmland to the north for a crash site, to no avail. Lingering smoke from the burnt countryside negatively impacted visibility low to the ground.
Rather than trying to articulate his report into words, he sent the 50-odd frames the farscope had saved, as well as the coordinates for the jedi’s projected radius of touchdown. A quick radio over to long range electro-ballistics ensured that his landing wouldn’t be marred by friendly fire.
He awaited follow-up questions on the absurd entry method, which, when they came, mostly consisted of variations on “...Is this for real?” and eventually “Can you set the scope to video for a little while?” and finally “Do you think that’s how he got the name Skywalker?”
There was a temporarily lull in fire from the west, likely a ripple effect from the ship’s explosion. From his vantage point Blink could see his batchmates using the opportunity to try and plug the holes in their barricade with broken droid pieces. Regardless of the itch to join them, he knew he couldn’t leave his post until the Jedi actually arrived in camp. Finally, a distant explosion and thick pillar of smoke gave the Jedi’s position away.
He tried to make out details, but the scope had a difficult time focusing through the haze. Manually trying to fine tune the scope’s settings, Blink caught a glimpse of what looked like half a hover tank sailing through the air to impact with a trade federation troop carrier in a fiery explosion. Several more explosions, flying droid artillery, and plumes of smoke were caught on record before visual contact with the source was established. He was mostly visible as a blue blur, lightsaber mowing a meandering path towards their location.
It wasn’t until Skywalker braced himself in place to punch a droidaka into pieces that Blink caught actual sight of the man. Only his eyes were visible, nose and mouth covered by layers of cloth. He blurred, then reappeared on top a massive missile launcher attached to an absurdly heavily armored vehicle. A minute or so of rapid blue flashes passed, the longest he had seen concentrated in one area. Then Skywalker was gone, movement clearly visible as he for once he moved in a straight line, plowing a rapid path away from the launcher.
Less than 30 seconds later, Blink had to wince away from the scope, as a burning white explosion temporarily overwhelmed the direct light filter. The trooper panicked for a moment, thinking he had gone both deaf and blind, but the abrupt, sucking silence ended after a moment with a deafening sonic boom. The shockwave rattled the farscope, nearly knocking it over, but Blink managed to steady it and himself in time.
A cheer emerged from pleasantly surprised vod below. The entire droid legion that had been guarding the missile launcher and apparent ordinance bay was flattened.
It took a moment for the realization to set in that the background noise of missile and and anti-missile collisions directly overhead had slowed pace. With the northern flank gone, artillery were able to redouble efforts to the east, and a second white hot shockwave ensued, signaling that the tide of battle had shifted. It was almost too easy for the republics electro-ballistics to tactically devastate the surrounding forces.
Eventually some sort of win/loss programming must have set in and all forces outside of a certain radius began retreating southward, conceding the scorched land to the republic army. It was cadets work to clean up the final suicidal droid charge.
A commotion ensued as Skywalker leapt the barricade with a mid-air flip. The vod greeted him with cheers, as they correctly assumed his appearance had something to do with the skirmish’s decisive victory.
Blink sent the video of the battle to command and quickly packed up his scope and assorted equipment. Hurrying down the battered tower, Blink thought to himself that this Anakin Skywalker was the best sort of Jedi a trooper could ask for.
uh sorry i got really sidetracked there moving on
Kenobi and Skywalker quickly become the face of the war once again
they grit their teeth a bit, but when they finally have a moment to really plan they eventually agree that to take down Sideous they have to cut off his political power in addition to everything else, and taking advantage of their public personas was the most accessible way to do so (*evil laughter*)
While Dooku wasn’t captured, Yoda heard the truth in his old student’s cryptic warnings about a Sith in the Senate, and the council begins carefully editing their release of tactical plans to the Chancellor’s office in the hopes of ferreting out the spy in their midst.
Pong Krell looses two arms in his duel with Dooku. Obi-Wan successfully hides his smug pleasure at the news. Anakin enjoys makeing comparisons between him and Grievous.
Kenobi doesn’t allow the origin of the clones to go unexamined, although he agrees that if the public were informed that they don’t actually know who ordered them it would probably cause panic.
The ‘inhibitor chips’ are ‘discovered’ early on and Anakin leads the effort to ensure that they are phased out and removed immediately. This consists of reminding every Jedi who even hesitates about how how he as a child slave had some experience with control chips and unless you want to take a leaf out of the hutts books lets start doing brain surgery chop chop mmmkay?
(This isn’t to say that Vader doesn’t still a twinge of shame at acknowledging his slave roots. But it is eclipsed by the burning guilt that he knowingly acted as slave master to his troops for decades after Sideous wiped their minds. He tried to rationalize it to himself, after all he didn’t immediately understand what Order 66 had done to the troopers. But while the morality of murder was more of an intellectual concern than a personal one, treating people as things...)
The Kamonions are a little harder to budge, referencing contracts that they refuse to allow the Jedi to see
Finally Vader snuck into the Chief Medical Scientist’s home while she was sleeping and straight-up threatened to murder her and burn down her lab. At the risk of losing her life’s work, Nala Se complied.
Vader left with the final threat that in the event that Darth Tyranus caught wind and activated Order 66 prematurely, he would kill 100 Kamonians for every Jedi felled by troopers. Shaak Ti was pleased by the cloners sudden change of heart. Tyrannus, and by extension, Sideous, are in the dark.
Obi-Wan frequently publicly confronts Palpatine about the troops citizen status, urging him make use of his emergency powers to grant them citizenship and full pay, with the option to leave the army should they so wish.
Anakin manages to play off his avoidance of the Chancellor as disappointment in his perceived lack of dedication to anti-slavery efforts
Finally Palpatine gives in- regardless of what happens next, the troops will be looked after.
With 2/3rds of the troopers dechipped, Vaderkin is eager to kill Sideous again, but after several intense screaming matches and sparring sessions, the time travelers come to the agreement that even if they succeed in their duel, with things as they were, the perception of the Jedi military coop would cause mass civil unrest. The scattered sith apprentices, while individually weak, were more than capable of magnifying that fear and anger until the galaxy breaks. Darth Sideous wanted to ensure that if he couldn’t have the galaxy, no one would.
(Vader knows this. Sideous enjoyed monologuing, and much of his plotting couldn’t be safely bragged about until after he had decisively won, leaving Vader as the unwilling receptacle for years of pent-up rants and self-satisfied gloats about the inevitability of his victory)
