I think I’m done with this community. Some of you are racist and anti-Black as fuck. Some of you use the Black LIs EVERY season to get to who you want. Why? The LIs share the same dialogue 90% of the time. The Black men all look different from each other, have different personalities. So, why? People even claimed Jin and Jack were much too sweet to hurt, but Oakley somehow wasn’t. Funnily enough he was the only OG who didn’t have a fit when mc doesn’t pick him. The same people then used Shawn. Wtf?!? And now y’all are doing it to Henri. Why?

Rhetorical question because I already know the answer.

I’ve even seen people say Fusebox should’ve used one of the white guys for Stefan. Seriously? We finally have a main route featuring a Black man and you want to swap him out for a white man? That’s your suggestion? Not editing him, changing him up a bit but swapping him out for a white character.

And then y’all have the audacity to reblog call out posts or posts talking shit about Reddit. Lmao. YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

And I’m so irritated which is why my post isn’t eloquent and may be all over the place. I’m just disappointed, yet another community. I’m done.

I am gonna rant for a bit here about ‘The Thunderstorm Saga,’ a new story on Romance Club. And before anyone says it, yes, I understand that I can always read other stories and that some stories on RC don't have BIPOC MCs--I just really wanted to dive into this one with a Black MC lol. I would love to hear other BIPOC players thoughts on the character design as well, which is why i am posting this here. well, that and because the reddit page won't let me post it there lolz.

As a Black person who plays these games, whether on Choices, Chapters, or LITG, I can’t help but notice when the ball is dropped in terms of character representation. Since I have yet to get past choosing my MC, you could attribute it to the genre—sure, fantasy often lacks non-white characters—but Time Catcher does exist and offers pretty decent Black and POC MC options. So, I don’t know, I just feel kind of disappointed because RC has had some of the best BIPOC MC representation by far compared to other apps. It just rubs me the wrong way that these are the options available now when they were doing SO well, in my opinion.

thoughts on todays volume ! the summer nightmare is finally over 🎉

of course, i chose to couple up ruby. reid and kane are unceremoniously dumped (FB didn't bother sending us to the front door to say goodbye lmao) we're finally free from the sad glances, the "so-and-so is absolutely devastated as you flirt with ruby, despite the fact you have been doing so for the entire season."

(i originally wrote that i was surprised dominic didn’t walk, but from what i've seen on reddit, it seems like he actually does if you choose OG LI. i guess he got lumped in with that thing where if you couple up with a girl, your rival doesn't get dumped)

next up is the final date ! apologies in advance, considering the million other problems with this season i know this is very petty to complain about…yacht ?! that is a pirate ship ! they got us searching for the One Piece as a final date 😭

i like the cave background for the gem scene though, it’s pretty !

and this scene was made for me, thee ocean nerd 🌊 (i chose limpet because shark wasn’t an option 😭)

next up is prom ! when i tell you i almost yelled when i saw the suggested dress 😭 it’s not that i think it’s ugly. i can't wait to see other ppl's MCs in it...my problem is that i was going for a MC that’s as goth as the game will let you possibly be. seeing her in that gave the same energy as allison’s makeover in the breakfast club

unfortunately there’s no suit. in fact, the only outfit that's not a dress appears to be fashion nova mummy bandages. the purple dress is fine, and i loved the black dress. i usually keep the same hair the whole season but i decided to switch it up

FB gave up on the “female LI leaving the room so our outfits would be a surprise” thing here, which is very weird because they literally just had her do that for the final date, where we wore the same swimwear as always 😭 whatever, i think ruby’s dress is very cute (i think they could've gone with something more boho, but i still like it)

up next is some dancing, and then you have the opportunity to waste gems on playing some game. the only way i could see it being "worth it" is that sonya apologises to MC, but if she's already left the villa for the majority of players, then there's no point lmfao

with maisie wearing a white (more of a cream but you get the point) dress for prom, and all the talk about kenzo’s "big plan," i was like “if this man proposes to her im putting down the phone” ... apparently i'm cursed with apollo's gift of prophecy

i'm not surprised about there being a proposal, i figured this would happen with all the weird wedding shit in the last volume. however, up until the dress & weird focus on kenzo i mentioned above, i thought it would be jace and esme. it still would’ve been ridiculous, but it would’ve made more sense with them. kenzo and maisie have barely known eachother for a week ! what do they have in common, besides the fact that their casa partners ain't shit ?

i chose the diamond option just to get away from that mess, only to realise i got myself into yet another LITG finale treasure hunt. thankfully, it's pretty brief. my MC got a candle, because that’s what i chose for an anniversary gift in the love in the fast lane challenge.

i’ve lost count on the amount of times we’ve had the opportunity to “go all the way” in this volume lmao

next up are the final declarations ! it ended up being underwhelming af, but at least we’re girlfriends now (i don’t think anybody cares about what happens with dominic and sonya, but for those who are curious, they agree to just be friends)

our LI asks us to pay 29 gems to go to paris ?! mon dieu ! (i wish i kept track of diamond scene totals, it felt like this volume reached a thousand)

finale time, we won !🎉 jin’s the host. he mentions his wife that he met in the villa, which is cute if you romanced him but my s8 MC is with claudia (i don't even know who he'd be with then, sienna ?😭)

love or money time, i picked love, of course. honestly i’m curious what happens if you chose money and you also bought the “going to paris after the show” diamond scene, but i'm too lazy to replay this episode to check

if you bought that scene, you get a little epilogue in paris. we have to split one pain au chocolat despite having £50,000...we also talk about meeting ruby's loved ones, which reminded me that this finale didn't even have a family phone call this time around (i guess FB gave up after all the LI parent inconsistencies in winning hearts lol)

all that this season "filled my world with" was "doubt that i'll even bother playing the next one" lmao ... speaking of the next season, i was surprised that i didn't see a giant advertisement when i first opened the app

overall, this ending wasn’t as much of a disaster as it could’ve been. with that being said, this season is complete garbage and this ending was absolutely rushed. why on earth are the final recoupling and the finale happening one in-game day apart ?? not to mention that kenzo proposing was deeply unserious, i have no idea why FB even included that (apparently this proposal can happen with ruby and reid ? which makes even less sense) i’m just glad it wasn’t dragged out

Secondly, hi! It's been a while since I've been actively involved with any fandom, I was 16 when I left a fandom and haven't really ventured into it since. However, I signed back up to AO3 in October and have been writing fics in my spare time, especially after the original LITG were removed. I've been lurking a lot, though, I keep forgetting to kudos, and I really need to learn how to comment again.

The Reddit prompt has actually triggered me to sign up here - I know the main community is on Tumblr, at least the good one, as I logged into my very dead account to check it out but I didn't want to start a new account without something to show for it, and I won't start posting my fics until they're finished as they're all multi-chaptered and the idea of posting before is genuinely terrifying.

Anyway, I'm already working on the pride fic and I'm hoping to finish it in the next few days so once I've figured out what it's called. Now, off to spam-follow all the accounts I've been lurking on.

I know there are some other discord servers out there for Romance Club (somewhere... I searched on reddit but all the posts about them are old and the invite links are expired), but I also know a lot of my mutuals and others in the LITG fandom are into RC as well.

Honestly I still really love this season so far, I think I just like the story of this season so far, I could see myself replaying it more then any season since s4, it’s not perfect and has some flaws but overall I have been pretty entertained and actually excited for each volume so far. I like this season way more especially since there is no Amelia. 🥹

I feel like the odd man out cause the litg discord and the reddit seem so annoyed about this season every volume. I get the season has problems but some of the issues people have with it is hyper critical? Like being stolen all the time, it is annoying but like in this season it does actually make sense we are supposed to be like Priya level bombshell. We are the weather reporters. 😭 Even though we have been stolen we also are in control with who we spend time with, I’ve spent no time with Travis because they let us spend the time with our OG LI or someone else if we want. Their biggest problem is the fact they can’t branch well. It’s just people act like this is worse then s6 when I think it’s improved from s6. If this was s6 we would be stuck with Bonnie forever. 🥹

I want to go back and play s2 because I enjoy this season so much because it’s made me happy? 😂

I actually agree with you that for the most part this season is actually still enjoyable and I def want to replay when it’s over. The writing has improved from previous seasons and it feels like there’s a lot going on in the background that doesn’t necessarily effect MC and the drama isn’t only happening to us - which I appreciate. I didn’t even mind being stolen especially since we had full say with who we shared the bed with multiple nights! My biggest gripe I think has to do with continuity. For example - we are currently coupled up with Travis. Even if you have a girl chat saying you’re sleeping with alex (my li) I still feel like there should’ve been a short chat where she talks to Travis about it and lets him know as well. Then we get flowers in our bed and instead of chatting with the guy who’s standing right there!! We run off to the dressing room and have to guess who gave us those flowers and confirm with uma?? Like why couldn’t I have just said alex, hugged him and ran off to get dressed for bed?? Then this week when we’re getting ready for bed they made it seem like mc was waiting for alex to climb into bed with her. You’re not coupled up!! He would’ve been going to bed with Estelle! I think that cliffhanger should’ve happened in the hallway or living room. Because why would MC be waiting for him in the bedroom when she’s literally just ran up on him outside for multiple days now. Another thing that isn’t related to us but a continuity issue.. in my playthrough after Mc and alex come back from their date Uma is straddling and attempting to kiss Raf and Daphne catches them. And then later when they’re sent home they completely brush off what happened earlier. Like Uma trying to kiss Raf is one thing, but STRADDLING him lol. I’m sorry but how do you get in that position with no objections? And then you’re all yea can’t wait to be together on the outside and perfect couple? I just feel like there should’ve been more tension with raf and daphne on their exit. (Also did they leave on everyone’s playthrough or was I just a savage when I picked them to leave lol)

Babe if you can't complete Kassam route before the deadline, someone called Sound something covered every single scene of his route. Anyway, congrats on getting the 🦄 I tried it but alas.

yes, SoundNo3485 on reddit ! i have mad respect for their dedication in covering so many different routes. especially with the bugginess of the OG app (and all the damn ads, because the airplane mode trick doesn't work. that's the only thing i like about the new app) they've posted scenes i've never come across before, it rlly amazes me how detailed season 2 was.

kassam was my LI while s2 was airing, so i managed to unlock him back in 2019 ! (time flies, doesn't it?) after that, i couldn't get it to open again , i've always just dragged him back to the villa. so i'm like, ridiculously happy i unlocked his route again lol

if you (or anyone reading this) want to unlock kassam's route: there is a guaranteed method of getting him . unfortunately it's extremely time consuming (FB is so trifling for only giving us two weeks notice) the game is glitched out so the "actual" way of getting him (being a shy/chill MC) is pretty much impossible, but we can use those glitches to our advantage. what matters is the casa guys' heart scores, nothing else. hearts from previous playthroughs get stored in the game's cache, so:

before casa amor, play however you want, seriously, you can do anything. (if you're wondering what i did, i was with rocco until he gets dumped, then i was with henrik. unlocked marisol's route, fixed all the drama, didn't participate in operation nope)

once you're in CA, wear the free outfits to prevent getting hearts from arjun and felix . pick all the mean options for them too, you'll need to get a bunch of frowns (when it comes to carl, i think he always likes MC ? at least in my playthroughs he does, but i pied him off as well just to be careful)

flirt with kassam and elijah at every opportunity. yes, both . their routes are connected for some reason. more importantly, elijah has to be your bed partner if kassam's route isn't unlocked. if kassam rejects you, you'll most likely be stuck with arjun or felix, whichever casa guy has been hounding you the most. it's way easier to get on elijah's route, even if he doesn't say your name. as long as you pick all his heart options, his route will open during the speed date . (i like elijah too, he's such an underrated LI)

pie off elijah when he eventually starts talking about bringing him to the villa (sorry luv) choose kassam for brunch and then drag him to the villa, keep increasing his heart score for a few days. another important thing, if you care about scenes being out of order, don't kiss, don't do bits, don't take gem scenes for alone time. blah blah blah. his first kiss is where he reads your palm. his first alone time scene (on the swing) he talks about taking in the moment/meditating (imma be real, idk what the steamy scenes look like cus i don't pick them lmaooo🖤🩶🤍💜)

the unfortunate and time consuming part, you have to hit the "restart show" button. one time! no more than that. some people on the LITG subreddit have had luck with just restarting to day 14, i'm not one of them . you can try it ofc, but it's very finicky. restarting the show works 100%

again, play however you want. (i pretty much did the same stuff as my 1st playthrough, except i was with lucas after rocco leaves) while you're at it, check for signs that heart scores carried over. one immediate way i was able to tell is: in my completely brand new playthrough, i picked the shy and neutral options, so bobby didn't step forward for my MC. second time around, with thee same exact choices, he did.

once you're in casa, kassam and elijah will be the ones that say your name ! yay ! wooo. i cheered when it was elijah staring at MC instead of felix . there's a funny scene during the speed date when you're on their route. elijah lingers after the buzzer goes off, kassam walks up to yall and tells him to move. anyways, ask kassam to share a bed and he'll say yes . unicorn acquired
