Eda has a prosthetic arm that’s gold and has abomination goo in it. There are pizza boxes on the table as well as a crystal ball. The boba is in different colors that match each character, and they have little owl stickers that resemble the golden guard mask or Hooty.

Autistic Hunter Week Day 4: Red/Gold

Everything in the emperor’s castle was so bright. Gold and white, clean colors, pure colors. Of course everything should be gold and white, it was the pinnacle of the titan’s will, it was only fitting that the seat of the titan’s power be gilded, to honor him.

The whole place shone like the damn sun.

His room was the only respite from it all, decorated in more subdued tones of blues and greens, browns on the covers of the books he was probably not supposed to be reading. The brightest colors were found on his uniform, and in the seal shining on his emperor’s coven certificate, and that was enough.

Gold, gold, gold.

Everything was shining here, except for his room.

Maybe that meant something. In the whole keep of gold and white, his room was so dull in comparison. In all the clean, pureness of the keep, his room stuck out like a sore thumb.

Hunter closed the window, burying his face in his pillow and willing the headache that came from all the shining gold to go away.

Why does it have to be so bright?!

At least in the throne room, it was more dimly lit. Of course, that just meant you were lulled into a false sense of security, only for a burst of candle flame or a sudden movement to blind you.

Do I hurt to look at, dressed in white and gold?

Is that why the scouts won’t look me in the eye?

Not that he particularly WANTED them to, but it still hurt a little bit that the people he’d trained with couldn’t look at him anymore.

Are they wincing under those masks when they see me?

Am I blinding, the way Uncle is blinding, too bright to look at?

A knock at the door made him remove his face from the comfort and safety of the pillow, and he blinked in the light, the reflection of light on his mask almost immediately blinding him. He pushed it on to disguise his disoriented blinking, squinting at the scout as he opened the door. “Yes?”

“New armor. To replace the uniform lost in Latissa.”

The scout held out the package, and Hunter held out hands that stalled maybe a little bit too much in taking it. The scout saluted and walked away, and Hunter took the package back to his bed. For now, it was wrapped up, screened from the light. He fiddled with the paper that matched the earthy tones in his room, unwilling to submit himself to the new headache that the blinding gold would give him.

If you put it on, you’ll blind others instead of you.

It’s not hurting you if you’re not the one seeing it.

Hunter took a deep breath, untying the string that held the paper in place and unleashing a small sun in his room. The headache was starting to come back, and he pushed his mask on his face, at least narrowing the space that the gold could assault him.

Don the mask.

Be the shining light, don’t hide from it.

No matter how much it hurts.

Autistic Hunter Week Day 1 - Special Interest/Infodump

Hunter always had an interest in wild magic. He just couldn't help it. At first he was interested cause it was a forbidden topic. Maybe it was a childhood rebellion or maybe wild magic was calling to him. -Considering that Hunter is a grimwalker the later could very well be it.-

At the age of 8, Hunter had been caught sneaking into the forbidden part of the castle library. After his punishment he had been sat down by his uncle and told -lied- about what happened to their family and about his uncle's curse. After that Hunter resolved to never touch another wild magic book.

That only lasted a month though.

Hunter reasoned that sense his uncle's curse was caused by wild magic then there may be a way to help cure his uncle. With that reason in his head he returned to sneaking into the library and taking some of the forbidden books to his room.

He felt awful for doing this behind his uncle's back. He didn't like lying to his uncle, but he didn't want to get punished. Besides it would be worth it once he cured his uncle.

Every time he had mentioned wild magic he would either be punished or lectured depending on his uncle's mood. As such he was careful not to talk about wild magic around people especially Kiki.

Despite having left the castle Hunter continue to keep his interests and research a secret. At first it was just because he didn't want his friends to question why he was researching grimwalkers.

Now in the Owl House he has continued to hide his interest. Which was honestly stupid. He was living with a wild witch and was surrounded by wild magic books. Yet for some reason Hunter felt an overwhelming urge to hide his interest.

Hunter was currently reading one of Eda's wild magic books on his bed. Eda and King had gone to town and wont be back for a while. This meant he didn't have to worry about any of them walking in. It was a stupid fear. None of them would even comment on it besides calling him a nerd.

"Hey, Hunter!" Luz exclaimed barging into his room. Hunter hid the book underneath his pillow. "Whacha hiding?"

"What are you doing here? I thought you were in the Human Realm." Hunter grumbled. He was happy to see the human, he just couldn't show that or she will be insufferable.

"I got bored." Luz responded. She shrugged her head. "You didn't answer the question."

"None of your business, human." Hunter snapped. He knew it was bad. He really had nothing to hide and yet he felt like he had to.

"Come on." Luz huffed.

"It's not important." Hunter said.

"If it's not important than why are you hiding it?" Luz asked as if that was the most logical conclusion. Which it was. Hunter was just being weird. Hunter looked away and uncovered the book. Luz leaned over and looked at the book.

"Oooooo, I haven't read that one yet." Luz said. She then looked up at him. "Why were you hiding it?" Hunter shrugged. "Hunter.

"It's stupid." Hunter snapped.

"I'm sure it's not stupid. What's going on?" Luz said. Hunter sighed.

"It's just in the Emperor's Coven I wasn't allowed to study wild magic. I know I'm allowed to study it now but I still feel an overwhelming need to hide it." Hunter exclaimed in frustration. Luz placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, it takes time. No one is expecting you to be ok right away. I mean you just left." Luz said. Hunter looked at her.

"I left two month's ago." Hunter corrected. Luz waved a hand dismissively.

"Practically no time at all." Luz exaggerated. Hunter rolled his eyes at his almost little sister. "So why don't you tell me about wild magic." Hunter did a double take.

"You know far more than I do." Hunter said

"Not really. Performing glyphs yeah but other people's research not so much." Luz said. Hunter looked at her skeptically. He was waiting for her to change her mind. Though the human's face remained eager.

"Well as you are aware glyphs can be used to make spells. Most scholars think that every spell witches perform today can be made using wild magic..." Hunter started. He cut himself off. "You already know all this."

"No keep going." Luz said.

"Uhm... With your light glyphs if you do a combination than you could likely create illusions." Hunter stuttered.

"Really, that would be so cool." Luz said edging hi on.

"Yeah, after all illusions are created by manipulating light. Not to mention the creative aspect that is needed for both..."

The two of them spent two hours talking about wild magic. When Eda and King returned they made fun of the duo for being nerds. Hunter smiled excepting the two's light hearted teasing. It was nice.

I think we as a fandom need to talk more about how Hunter is a huge nerd.

Literally any time anyone brings up so much as a semi-obscure topic he’s just like ‘oh yeah I’ve read a ton about this!’ The boy does nothing in his (minimal) free time other than just read about a bunch of random topics.

I just think it would be funny if one of the Entrails got mad at Hunter for whatever reason and Darius found out abt it and essentially told them to stop being a bitch or whatever and like this is when they’re asleep or whatever and their parents just see it like “why is the head of the abomination coven messaging you?”

It took exactly three seconds for everything to crash down onto Hunter.

 Every horror, every emotion.

 And the terrifying realization that his unc- Belos, wanted to kill him.

Three seconds and he couldn’t breathe. trying desperately to get air in his lungs but it just didn’t work , he felt like was choking and he ripped his cape off- the cape he had held beloved only mere hours earlier- and just stared at it in abstract horror, the sudden taste of bile mixed with dirt overwhelming his senses.

 He needs to run.

 He needs to hide .

i’m never ganna stop crying about the fact that becuase eda never taught king to call her mom litterally everytime he just calls her her name it has the same meaning, like at least at first he probably learned her name through other people calling her it, and then her calling herself that, so little baby king was just like “:] yeah that’s eda” with the same weight as “:] yeah that’s my mom” becuase thats how kids work, to him eda is just interchangable with mom, becuase eda is his mom, and his mom’s name is eda.

and that is what she is to him, she raised him, she always looked out for him, she always protected him, she even managed to get a human to help her out when king lost his burgerqueen crown, becuase it mattered to king, so she did everything she could to get it back.

she is his mom, she just doesnt call herself it, so king never calls her it. also even once he realizes ‘yes he once had a biological parent’ he only even considers his dad, he doesnt even acknowledge that he probably had a mom too, becuase in his mind, that role’s taken already.

like shes literally just his mom, she raised him since he was a hatchling, she always took care of him, she even had one of those ‘becuase i said so’ moments in season 1 with him acting like a son would, groaning and pouting before going along with it anyways  also i know this is already probably pretty well known becuase he literally changed his name to king clawthorn which from the scene has the weight of adoption.

but still, everytime he calls eda ‘eda’ its the same as him calling her ‘mom’ and that is making me emotional.

I just picked the dirty beige i put on the inside bit of Hunter's cape, used it as shadows and put it on multiply, and then i put a low opacity layer (also on multiply) of the same color through everything with a watercolor brush

I can show it better tomorrow

Edit: as for the shadow placement, i basically followed how it was on the screenshots plus some little more i added for fun

Autistic Hunter Week Day 4: Gold & Red/Free Space

Rating: Teen (child abuse, blood [the prompt has red I had to do it], manipulation, gaslighting)

Characters: Hunter, Belos, Flapjack

Hunter had failed again.

It wasn't that long ago that he had been forced to stay in the castle. He had finally managed to get back in his uncle's good graces. Now he had screwed up. Hunter kneeled before his uncle. Prepared to face any punishments that Belos deemed worthy.

"I thought that you were better than this." Belos growled. Hunter barely managed to stop himself from flinching.

"I am, Uncle. I looked I couldn't find..." Hunter started.

"I'm not interested in your excuses." Belos's voice boomed. Then he lost control.

Belos's arm elongated and changed. It began to be covered in a green slime. It reached towards Hunter and the boy didn't move. The long spear arm pierced the side of his arm cutting his side. Just as quickly as Belos lashed out it was gone. Belos grunted in pain and doubled over.

Hunter's head became cloud not registering the pain. All the while he felt warm blood flow down his side. He looked down and saw his gold armor was soaked in his red blood. He reached out and touched the wound. It still didn't hurt. He removed his hand and his glove was coated in his life blood.

"Look what you made me do Hunter." Belos sighed. "You know how I get when I am angry. When you upset me."

"I know." Hunter said robotically.

"I am disappointed in you. The Titan has big plans for you but I can find another." Belos said.

Disappointed

Replaceable

Belos's words pierced through the fog in Hunter's mind. He looked up in horror. He wanted nothing more than to curl up and rock himself.; comfort himself in a way that no one has ever done, but he knew that that would anger his uncle more than he already was.

"I can do better. I will do better." Hunter begged. He felt tears prickling his eyes but he refused to let them flow. Blood continued to pool under the boy. The pain nothing compared to his heart ache.

"I know Hunter." Belos reassured. "It is why it angers me so much when you fail. Now go seek to yourself."

It was a dismissal.

Hunter stood up a little shaky from blood loss. He placed a hand over the cut to apply pressure. The teen walked as quickly as he could through the castle to get to his room. He felt the eyes of the scouts that he passed on him looking at his blood soaked cloak and armor. He paid them no mind.

Finally, Hunter reached his room. He entered quickly and shut the door. He collapsed against the door and hugged his knees. Finally he allowed himself to rock and the tears to fall.

It was unbecoming of the Golden Guard, Hunter knew, but he couldn't stop himself. He could only keep it at bay so long before he gave in. Truly he was lucky that he didn't break down in the halls or Titan forbid in front of his uncle. It would have truly been awful. Hunter would have likely been replaced on the spot. After all, this was the behavior of a baby not Belos's right hand man.

Flapjack's concerned chirping finally entered Hunter's brain. This caused Hunter to slow down his rocking and look up. The bird was flying in front of him with clear concern in the palisman's movement. Seeing that Hunter has been snapped out of his trance they rushed forward and snuggled into the teen's neck. Hunter let out a wet laugh and began to pet them.

"I'm fine, bird." Hunter said weakly. Flapjack moved from the teens neck to in front of the boy. They gave him a skeptical look. They then pulled on Hunter's hair causing him to look down.

At Hunter's feet was his first aid kit. Remembering the wound, he began to remove his gold and red armor. He then began to treat the wound all the Flapjack leaned against the witch's foot to act as some sort of comfort. After he was finished stitching up the wound he took a blood replenishing potion. Even with it though Hunter felt woozy and weak from the blood loss.

Flapjack pulled on Hunter's hair strand. The witch sent a weak glare before weakly trying to wave them away. The palisman ignored him and made a gesture towards Hunter's bed. The boy wanted to protest, say that he had too much to do. He had paper work and various other things that he needs to do as the unofficial head of the Emperor's Coven.

Honestly tho, Hunter was exhausted. He hadn't been sleeping well and the blood loss wasn't helping matter. Sighing Hunter got up and stumbled towards his bed. He then collapsed into bed without even removing his boots.

Flapjack flew over and covered Hunter with a blanket. They then landed on Hunter's head and began to make a nest from his hair. The boy wanted to protest but it honestly felt nice.

Hunter finally allowed himself to fall unconscious.
