"This doesn't make any sense," Vio muttered, brow furrowed down at the book in his hands as he walked.

Blue eyed a tree branch hanging low over the path ahead, and looked back at Vio. Is he going to notice...?

"The directions are cryptic, granted, but I'm quite certain I've narrowed down the possibilities. It should be here."

The tree branch was getting closer. He's not going to notice.

"All of the other signs have matched so far. All that's left is 'the gate of the lion's teeth,' but we've been all over this patch of forest and not seen anything."

Blue weighed the amusement of watching Vio walk face-first into a branch, versus the risk of distraction in this forest that made his skin crawl with the sensation of being watched. Vio had insisted the 'lion's teeth' were metaphorical, that this was entirely the wrong part of the world for lions, but Blue wasn't willing to bet their lives on it. With an inward sigh and roll of his eyes, he reached out and lifted the branch over both of their heads as they passed. Vio didn't even flinch.

"It's a really old book," Blue put in gruffly. "Things change in hundreds of years."

"Giant stone temples don't just get up and walk away."

"Well..."

"Not without anyone noticing and making legends about it, anyway. No. It should be here. I don't understand what..." his voice trailed off into muttering as he flipped the pages back and forth, frowning at the dense text and complicated diagrams.

Blue nudged Vio's elbow to push him away from a large rock in the path before he tripped. Vio didn't so much as flick an ear in acknowledgement.

The back of Blue's neck prickled again and he scowled around at the trees. The foliage was so dense, he felt like they could be ten paces away from a sleeping lynel and not even notice it.

Vio was still following the path, muttering to himself. Blue turned back forward and—

"VIO!" he shouted, leaping forward to grab a fistfull of Vio's tunic and yank him back.

Vio's muttering cut of with a strangled urk! and he finally — finally — looked up from his book to stare wide-eyed at the steep ravine he had almost stepped right off of.

"New plan," Blue gritted out through his teeth. "No books while walking in unfamiliar and potentially hostile territory."

Vio made a vague noise of acknowledgement, the kind that very clearly said he wasn't actually listening. He was still staring down at the jagged rocks below.

"Does that cliffside look like a lion's jaws to you?" he asked.

Everyone on this list has put in a phenomenal effort to make the FSAA happen this year, so please go show them some love.

I think I would like to host this again next year, though it will depend on my circumstances. That said, if anyone has any constructive feedback, the ask box is open and anon is on! The main point so far is to make the FSAA more inclusive (because, let’s face it, Advent and Christmas are rather Christian concepts), which, absolutely — that was poorly planned by me. Hopefully I can do better next year!

Minish cap mystery box arrived from @littleleeeloo !!!

To the right of that is a tree stump with a hole in the center, a white porcelain jar with handles on either side and a blue swirl design in a band along the center, and a yellow boomerang with silver trim and a red gem. There was also a few more character stickers and some fun-sized skittles, starburst, and sour patch kids candy, but its not letting me add any more images lol. Overall such a great assortment and it definitely made my day!!

Back on my bullshit as a vaati-stan and a Minish furry, this is to cute! I obscured the possibility of the new enamel pin to keep it a surprise, but it you do make it ibwould 100% buy, I'm a pin goblin, I also had to take this picture twice cus I forgot to include the vaati kinstone magnet that is just to die for!, the second picture is under light UV conditions, the kinstone has a subtle glow!!

Let me see.. it takes 19 frames for the cat to appear completely, plus two alternate versions each for the cat’s full body and for just the face. (I knew I wouldn’t be able to prevent the imperfections that would make it “wobble” a bit while animating, so I decided to just lean into the effect and have it wobble the whole time - which meant I needed a couple extra frames to loop through during the pauses.)  Then three alternate ears for the ear-flick, and five alternate tails to make it swish down on the fade-out, so... roughly 21 images all told, if I did the math right?  The gif has more frames than that, but some of those are repeats.

It helped that I was able to use a scanner - that way I could scan several frames at once and not worry that the photos might have different lighting, angles, sizes, etc.  The drawings are relatively small, too - the whole thing fit on three 8.5x11 sheets of printer paper.
