Hi! May I request headcannons for John Dory and/or Branch with a Classical troll s/o :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dating an Classical Troll
Pairings: John Dory X Reader, Branch X Reader,
Warnings: None
A/N: Broppy isn’t cannon in this one well except for JD’s part. Okie dokie! Also THE CLASSICAL TROLLS ARE SO SWEET AND CUTE
John Dory
- That would be an shock when his brothers found out HE was dating an CLASSICAL TROLL
- like… everybody would be so shocked
- Classical trolls where known for being highly cultured and their music mainly focusing on the an Orchestral part.
- Their music lacks lyrics instead putting more emphasis on harmonies and instruments. They take their music very seriously…
- so when they find out THE JD is dating an classical troll they are shocked jaws to the floor and not believing so
- as the troll that likes to show off and also as one to prove that it’s true he takes them to where the classical trolls lives
- JD was greeted by some classical trolls and others just snicker when seeing JD knowing who he was searching for.
- He was in the middle of the town square
- “DARLIN! YOU HERE?” JD said his hands cupped through his hands “Dude Your lying there’s no way you would be dating an classical troll- Oh damn” “Told you Guys :]”
- When they heard an voice call out happily towards JD they were even more shocked on how you darted quickly to JD and hugged him
- Your small wings flapping as you held your instrument in your other hand before grinning towards the new trolls which JD introduced as his family and branch is girlfriend (Poppy)
- You’d happily greet them and when they left you’d chat to JD telling him you have to go back to the orchestra
- He’d follow behind and watch you in awe and in an loving gaze
- When he heard your music he keeps quiet since he knows that he shouldn’t be loud while you all play since it’s seen disrespectful.
- The first time he did it he had gotten the stink eye from everyone until you explained the proper manners and he understood quickly
- You two dance together but it's you doing ballroom dancing and him is just normal pop dance moves which is so sweet and funny
- You two share songs you both enjoy when he teaches you pop your interested and when you teach him classical he’s invested cause he loves how your face lights up when you talk about your genre
- Loves when you fly around Even loves it more when you pick him up and fly around together it’s fun for him and fun for you
- despite hour small size your physically quite strong, able to lift other Trolls off the ground and can give bone crushing hugs…
- JD enjoyed your hugs but sometimes he feels like the life is squeezing out of him
- He knows you got balancing issues when you try to walk or run cause classical trolls mainly fly so he tries to help the best he can
- He knows that Pride and Ego are important in your culture so he make sure to make your face in town the best
- but in private he loves how you act out from your ‘Classical’ mask and shift to your normal one when with him
- Loves when you cuddle and don’t try to crush him
- he enjoys your affection and the time you take with him.
- He loves you no matter what even though he still tries to get the hang of not cheering you on when preforming sometimes <33
Branch
- Branch wouldn’t talk about it at all
- He wouldn’t say he’s dating an classical troll but it got found out by Poppy who was wondering where he has been going for awhile - The only troll who DID knew was Floyd
- Branch would tell the group off for following him mainly poppy for following him but he gets interrupted when an Classical troll tackles him into an hug laughing and flying in the air with him in his arms
- Classical trolls where known for being strong yet having trouble to run and walk if they don't fly - Would ask you to put him down to introduce you to his brothers and friends - once they met you they where shocked since you were the opposite of Branch - after they left you asked if branch if he wanted to watch you play with the orchestra he'd just follow along
- He knows basic etiquette of classical troll culture, and knows you take your music very seriously you told him that the music lacks lyrics instead you add putting more emphasis on harmonies and instruments.
- He loves how you play your instrument smoothly and can't help but grin
- Would compliment you once your done with your show
- Loves when you pick him up to fly around and you two go cloud watching and star gazing
- It may not seem like it but he's the slow romantic, and passionate type of person
- Loves hugging you and cares for you so much even enjoys when you two waltz together to your music
- You and him share diffrent songs and takes not of everything you like and makes small items for you two
- he made you an new Instrument when yours broke in half
- he loves holding your wings in his hands since their soft even though he knows its sensitive to touch sometimes but he finds it so cool
- he enjoys holding your hand but he's sometimes scared you'll crush him
- he tries to help you so much due to your balancing issues he makes you an walking stick to help you
- Will adore your kisses and your fluffy hair
- let his hand go through your hair its so soft to him and would fall asleep cuddling you
- he loves how your face lights up when you talk about your genre of music.
- despite hour small size your physically quite strong, able to lift other Trolls off the ground and can give bone crushing hugs… he loves your hugs so much - No matter what genre he will always love you.

Thinkin about a Trolls au where Brozone never split. This is also under the assumption that during the scene right before going out to perform, they were not at home. They still fought, but as they're yelling at each other Grandma steps in and separates them to let them go clear their heads. Clay bursts into tears as his emotions crash down on him, and he runs out to go home. Spruce(no name change yet obv) quickly follows after shooting JD a dirty look, telling Grandma he'd go soothe Clay. Grandma picks up Branch, and Floyd offers to go gather her things so they can head home too. John Dory is still reeling, and blurts out that he's going to go stay with a friend. Before anyone else can say anything, he's hopped out the window. Grandma decides to leave him be, and heads home with the youngest two.
By the time they get back, Clay has cried himself to sleep in the room he shares with Floyd, and Spruce is dressed more comfortably while slumped over at the kitchen table. Grandma sets Branch in the high chair and gets to fixing them up some hot cocoa. Floyd grabs out the jar of shortbread cookies, and passes some to his brothers as he sits next to Spruce. No one says anything until they're all sitting and nursing a mug of cocoa. Spruce apologizes to Grandma out of habit, but she waves it off. Talks about how they're teenagers and children, that emotions are bound to explode. She talks about how JD should be back by tomorrow, and they can all try to work things out then. Eventually they all head to bed, Spruce in his shared room with JD, and Branch with Grandma.
Next morning, they all wake up late and John Dory is in the kitchen whipping up breakfast. Clay wakes up first, and just stops in the kitchen doorway to stare at his eldest brother. JD's eyes are puffy like his, and he looks like he'd barely slept. Without saying a word, Clay simply sits at the table to wait for the rest of their family. Floyd is next, still half asleep, and curls up in the chair next to Clay while leaning on the middle brother. Spruce is close behind, wearing a sweater he stole from JD's closet, but decides not to explain himself since no one was paying attention anyway. Last is Grandma carrying a sleepy Branch, setting him in the high chair just as food finishes cooking. She helps JD set out plates and dish out the food before they both sit, and the family eats in silence at first.
Eventually John Dory speaks up first, apologizing to Clay. He doesn't look at his younger brother, or anyone really, but they can all hear how close to crying he is. He apologizes to Spruce as well, and then Floyd. He tells them that he'll try to stop being so bossy, and he won't force them to do anything they don't want to. He says he loves them all the way they are, and he never should've tried to change that just for the band's image. He apologizes again, and tries to lighten the mood by commenting on his tears getting in his pancakes. It's gets a small laugh out of his brothers, and Branch pipes up with his own apology. He tries to say it was all his fault the concert was ruined, but all 4 brothers jump in to reassure him it wasn't his fault. John tries to explain that Branch is just a baby, and if it's anyone's fault it's John's. Grandma praises them for trying to work things out, and then tells them to hurry up and eat. Their food is getting cold.
Obviously all their problems aren't solved there, but it leads into John Dory announcing that Brozone is going on hiatus. They're taking a break to focus on their personal lives. He's terrified of the audience reaction, but fans were surprisingly supportive. Clay focuses more on school, and even starts sharing about his sad book club. Spruce focuses less on working out all the time, and instead convinces Grandma to teach him how to bake. Floyd starts writing his own songs, and has JD double check them just in case. John decides to ignore anything he wants to do, and focuses more on helping his brothers. Grandma notices and tries to get him to go and be a teenager, but JD refuses.
Timeskip to Grandma still getting eaten. Clay was off at sad book club, Spruce was inside trying to make lunch, and Floyd was working on songs with JD. Spruce hears Grandma yelling and screaming, and as he starts to run outside he hears Branch scream too. He barely catches a glimpse of the Bergen walking away with his Grandma, and he wants to collapse and wail but he can hear Branch crying from the ground. Spruce hurries down to his baby brother as JD and Floyd finally burst out of the pod. JD forces Floyd back inside, and crashes down beside his brothers to drag them back into the pod. He doesn't know what just happened, but he knows they're safest inside. Once inside, the older brothers see Branch's colors begin to fade and panic. Spruce explains that Grandma was taken just before bursting into tears himself. Floyd starts crying right after, and JD can feel himself start to shake. But seeing his brothers so distressed, the oldest manages to shove back his feelings and take all three brothers to his and Spruce's room to cuddle and process. Clay arrives not too long after, unaware, and JD tries to gently break the news to him. Clay is distraught, screaming and stomping before deflating into JD's arms.
FAST FORWARD AGAIN. After that JD starts helping with the tunnels to escape, and let's Spruce take on more responsibility over their younger brothers. When the time comes to escape, JD is in charge of carrying Floyd while Spruce carries Branch. Clay tries to stick close, but stops when he hears Viva yelp in fear. He glances back at his brothers, just in time to catch the horror in their faces as a pick axes smashes down between them. Clay is flung back, and smacks into a startled Viva. JD and Spruce are frozen for a moment, but rhe screams of their youngest brothers kick them into gear as they start sprinting for the exit. Floyd is hysterically crying and flailing, trying to reach out for Clay while Branch is inconsolable.
Viva and Clay end up in a similar situation to canon, the only difference is Clay is more soft and in tune with himself. He still enjoys boring stuff, but he's not as adamant about not being fun. The other four try to settle down in the new village with a new pod, but the older brothers catch Branch attempting to dig his bunker on multiple occasions. One by one they give in and help, and eventually the bunker is built with an extra room for Clay just in case. Branch isn't fully gray, but his color is severely muted, and his other brothers aren't much brighter. Floyd is the only one that really actively sings, but JD and Spruce will hum to themselves or to their brothers. Branch refuses to sing at all.

trolls headcanons because i’m bored!! i have a couple other posts on my @obesessedwithjohndory account however im posting this from my phone and can’t get into that account on here but anyways enjoy the hcs <3
john dory and branch hatched early, bruce and floyd were late, clay was right on time
john dory is named after rosipuff’s husband/ the boys’ grandpa who died before he was born
john dory gives branch a pair of old goggles and he wears them whenever they go to events etc
the glasses branch wears in both ‘perfect’ scenes in the movie originally belonged to john dory when he was a baby
john dory is like spencer from icarly, they always tease him for never having friends his own age etc because he lives in pop village and hangs around with branch, floyd, poppy etc and they’re significantly younger than him
bruce’s favourite song is the copacabana
bruce loves seeing his kids play with their uncles
sometimes when critics come to review his restaurant he gets his brothers to come for support because despite them always leaving good reviews he always gets really anxious
bruce would love the troll version of gordon ramsay but would definitely not want him coming to his restaurant because he’d probably pass away
his kids didn’t believe he was in a band because he was very hesitant of putting brozone songs on etc
he teaches them the old choreography
clay has made his bedroom very cosy despite it being in the admin building of the golf course like it’s got fairy lights and photos of his bros + poppy & viva
clay has had a crush on viva ever since he first met her when they were little
he rarely brushes his hair, not because he doesn’t want to, just because he forgets because he’s busy doing his cpa work
clay has 2 sad book clubs, one for his friends (even though he calls them his associates) and one for his bros, viva + poppy
floyd has lots of piercings, eyebrow, lip, ears, nose etc
he was definitely wild in his teenager years, always partying, drinking and whatnot
he’s had A LOT of boyfriends in the 20 years they were apart, mainly pop or rock trolls
hes very rebellious for the first couple months after they all reunite, he’s always like “i beat death, what do you mean i can’t go skydiving?”
floyd and barb would be best friends
he’s the one to help his brothers stop arguing after a fight, it’s almost giving “don’t be like this, this isn’t like you” (☠️☠️)
branch has a lot of collectible items he found over the years when he was in his grey state
sometimes to have a laugh he’ll steal john dory’s goggles and hide them somewhere in the bunker just to see him stress out looking for them, and they’re al air usually in an obvious spot like on top of a cupboard or something
john dory gave him an old photo album and he likes looking through it because he likes seeing all his brothers when they were younger
branch is a lightweight
sometimes when he’s with john dory, he’ll subconsciously rest his head on his shoulder and has fallen asleep a handful of times
and he had most definitely called john dory dad more than once
hope you liked these!!!! <3

I can only imagine your Branch giving the most disturbing gifts to show he cares. Ex:
Floyd: Oh man, I always worried Velvet and Veneer are gonna come back at some point
Branch: *Man, I wanna make him feel better hmm*
Cue the next day:
Branch: Here Floyd, this should make you feel safer (Man is covered in BLOOD and holding an even bloodier box) 😊
Floyd (about to pass out): Oh thanks B… what is it??
Branch: Velvet and Veneers vocal cords 😁 (He genuinely believes this will make him feel better)
Floyd: Oh… thank you Branch (He doesn’t want to reject the gift since it is one of the only occasions Branch has shown any of the brother’s affection)
His gifts only get worst from there. The brothers one time mention what happened to the Bergen that ate Grandma??? Branch puts Chef’s skeleton up in display for them to see that there’s nothing to worry about and that she’s been avenged. Meanwhile , BroZone: 🧍🧍🧍🧍
Poppy mentions that Creek betrayed the entire Troll kingdom??? Oh yeah, he tells the hilarious story about the time he was roasted alive and eaten by the village and even offers Poppy a tuff of his hair as proof.
He associates threats being eliminated as comforting and so he believes proof of that are the best gifts, he has good intentions but wtf he’s gotta work on better love languages.
anyways yeah BroZone loses their shit every time this happens but don’t have the heart to tell Branch to stop since it’s one of his main ways to show he cares about them and they’ll take anything at this point.
Honestly no one in the village is good at getting appropriate gifts ESPECIALLY Branch (he’s been living with the feral trolls(?) for years and their love language is violence) so you’re gonna have to forgive them on their very gruesome gifts.
All these situations are basically canon now because the idea is just so funny to me that Branch just pulled out all these corpse parts just to be like “don’t worry you’re safe😁”. Every time he does this his brother are just going through every emotion. It’s sweet that he did the gesture for them but also terrifying when you actually think about it (when he’s left the room, at least two of them puked and Floyd passed out four times) When Floyd is given the vocal cords as a gift the only thing keeping him conscious is the adoration that his baby brother got him a gift, but once Branch left the room, he immediately put the box in the closet and proceeded to puke on the floor. (Originally Branch got the vocal cords after he found out velvet and veneer took Floyd, but I find the idea of him going back for round two just so he can get a trophy for Floyd to tell him he was “safe” even better)
When he showed the skeleton to the brothers they were just too shocked to actually understand what was happening and kind of just went numb for a few minutes, all they could do was force themselves to focus on how happy Branch was so they wouldn’t have a meltdown.(when they later registered what they saw they just cried) When Poppy brought up how angry she is at Creek and how mad she is that he up and left again instead of staying to face his problems!! Branch laughed and said “OH, don’t worry we handled it😁” and he pulled out a tuff of Creeks hair, and hilariously explained the “funny story” of Creeks demise.
Everyone at this point just stops talking about people they don’t like out of fear that Branch Is just gonna come out with their body at any second. They like the gestures of the gift. It’s just the fact that they’re basically just corpse parts in a box that is handed to them with a smile 😊 saying, “I hope you like it” (he eventually stops when explained how messed up it is)

🍀Clay🍀
Who Fell first
There was always some sort of attraction between you two. However, the only one who didn't notice was Clay. You ended up falling for him after saving Floyd and the Brozone reunion. Clay asked you to join his sad book club. You eventually agreed.
You had Clay over at your pod to read the new book you had started to read. You looked up to ask him if he wanted anything to drink or eat. However, you breath got taken away seeing him concentrating on reading his book. He was so passionate about it. You studied his features carefully. He was so handsome. There was so much stuff you loved about him. He acted so serious a lot of the time, but when he was alone with you he let his fun side slowly come out more. You loved his passion for his work, yes he doesn't live in Putt Putt Village anymore. However, since Pop Village has been expanded so the Putt Putt Trolls can live with you, he still needed to make sure they were okay. So everyday he would make rounds to all the Putt Putt Trolls seeing if they needed anything and would do them. You often helped him on his rounds.
Clay felt someone staring at him. He looked up seeing you looking at him. "You Okay Y/N?" He asked making you snap out of your trance, going bright red. "Sorry, I just wanted to know- only if you want- I mean why would you! Do you want something to eat or drink." You panicked so much. He looked at you confused. "Maybe some Apple Juice and some fruit to share?" He asked. You nodded and ran to the kitchen.
What just happened?
Who feel harder
Clay's very dense to his feelings. He was so isolated at Putt Putt Village. He was too busy caught up with co running the place, he never experienced love before. He was so confused. Why would he be so nervous around you, want to protect you, care what you thought and more importantly why would he always catch himself staring at you? He was so confused.
He went to his older brother, JD explaining all of these feelings. "Dude, you've fallen for her. Sound like really hard." John said laughing and patting him on the back. Clay went pale. He what? He'd never felt this before. He ran away from his brother and went for a walk in the woods. He liked you? Since when? The more he thought it about it made sense. He couldn't stop thinking about, even dreaming about you regularly.
He was so deep in thought he didn't realize you were walking round the corner as he was, from the other direction. You both colided, sending your basket backwards. Also, Clay sending you back falling on the berries and fruit you were collecting, him falling on top of you. You were both covered in all different types of fruit you collected. Clay realized he was on top of you. He went bright red and was malfunctioning trying to say sorry. He sat up and was rambling. You giggled and sat up. You placed a hand on his cheek smiling. He stopped mid sentence, staring down at you. "I'm fine Clay? Are you?" You said reaching into your bag and pulling out a napkin. You wiped the bits of fruit and fruit juice off his face. Clay watched you as you did this.
Yeah he's fallen. Fallen Hard
A/N: He's so cuteeee

Trolls 3: Band Together Spoiler!
Warning: I watched the film so this spoiler has context
Jonh Dory: "We're here for Floyd. Let's just get this done and we can go our separate ways."
"Fine by me," Clay said.
"Same here," Bruce said.
Branch: "Wait, what?"
"What? The mission's the mission," John Dory said. Then he laughed. "You didn't think we'd all live together when this was over, did you? Singing songs and roasting marshmallows
_"
Poppy gave Branch a worried look. She could tell John Dory's words were hurting him. And making him mad.
"Oh, I'm sorry, is that funny to you?" Branch snapped at John Dory. "That I might want us to actually be a family again?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is where Branch's heart broke, he thought everyone was happy to be together again but they were going back to the same fights and the same arguments, he felt small and voiceless like when he was a baby and his brothers also saw this, Jonh Dory's mockery about returning to the illusory idea of a family was what ended Branch's hopes.
he finally explodes and confesses everything that saddens him, about the separation, the abandonment, the death of his grandmother and reveals that this time it is not him who will be abandoned but he who will abandon the team.
The brothers find out about the bunker he created with specific rooms for each brother, they feel bad and Jonh Dory says: I didn't know about any of this
And Poppy responds: I guess you never wanted to know
Poppy goes after Branch and tells him that she will accompany him to save Floyd
Branch despairs and says that she doesn't need to do this and asks: Forget it, won't you abandon me too? just like everyone else did
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The pain of abandonment is something so serious in Branch's life that he even thinks that Poppy, the girl he loves most in life, will get tired of him and abandon him.
Poppy doesn't let herself be shaken and confesses: I've been on your side since the day we met, and you're on mine, I'm not leaving, give us both a little credit
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was the most important film for Branch's journey, he and Poppy love each other very much and although she knows her boyfriend better than she knows herself, she knows that there is still a part of him that still needs to be healed, she wanted there to be no obstacles for a sincere relationship with Branch, that's why they only kiss in the third movie, there are no more secrets, he confirms this and she accepts, when Poppy sees that she finally knows Branch completely she doesn't wait a single minute and kiss him, because she already knew that she loved him and that he loved her.

In Love (a Trolls fanfic)
Summary: Clay's got a not-so-secret secret
A/N: Based on an idea given to me by @chipmunkfanno1love
__________________________________________
“Hmmm…” Viva hummed, taking a step back, and admiring her handiwork so far. “Something’s missing…”
She was thinking, and then snapped her fingers. “Ah! I got it! We need barrettes!” The pink Troll rubbed her hands eagerly and giggled. “I’ll be right back!” She skipped along to the next room over, leaving Poppy, Branch, and the remainder of BroZone - all decorated with adorable varying styles of braids - sitting in the living room of her sister’s pod.
Poppy giggled to herself at how happily her sister had been in giving them new hairstyles. She sighed. “I like Viva,” she said, stroking the dutch braid that was now on her head.
“Oh, me and you both, girl,” Clay piped up, tossing the crochet braid he had behind his shoulder. “I tell ya, she’s cool, and pretty, and, like she says, super fantast-amazing.”
Branch raised an eyebrow, forgetting about how silly he might look with his double-braids and instead noting how enthusiastically he was speaking of his girlfriend’s sister. “Oh, really?”
“Yes, really!” Clay replied, as though Branch should have known this. “I can’t tell you how many times we used to stay up late and swap stories, and read and go over finances…” He sighed fondly. “It was great. She’s great.”
He spaced out for a second, daydreaming about those gorgeous fuchsia eyes, enhanced with just the perfect touch of makeup, framed by beautiful golden curls… But when he came to, he noticed how his brothers were all eyeing him with knowing smirks.
Clay blinked. “Um… why are you looking at me like that?”
“‘Cause you don’t like her, Clay,” Bruce cooed. “You love her!”
The lime-green Troll blushed. “N-no I don’t,” he stammered.
“Oh, yes you do,” Branch agreed. It was so obvious, especially with how flustered Clay was getting.
“Clay loves Viva! Clay loves Viva!” John Dory laughed, the fishtail braid bouncing on his back.
Poppy giggled along, too. “That is so sweet!” she gushed.
Only Floyd wasn’t joining in on the bantering. He timidly stroked on his exquisitely crafted French braid and then cut into the conversation. “Now, now, you guys,” he said, “let’s lay off of Clay, okay?” He gently patted his lime-green brother on the back.
Clay smiled at him. “Thank you, Floyd.”
Floyd gave him a reassuring smile in return. “It’s okay to show your sensitive side… especially when you’re in love!”
Clay pressed his mouth into a thin line while Poppy and the brothers burst into laughter. “Real slick there, Floyd. Real slick.”
“Yeah, that was a good one!” John Dory laughed. Suddenly, he got up, standing in the middle of the room, back facing towards the others, while he hugged himself, making loud smoochy noises and pretending to be locked in a heated makeout session. “Mmm… OH, Viva! Viva how I love you so! Mwah, mwah, mwah!”
Though, he didn’t hear laughter in response. He heard his name being hissed urgently by Clay.
“John Dory!”
JD rolled his eyes. “Can’t ya take a joke, Clay? You used to be the ‘Fun Boy,’ sheesh!” he groaned, turning around, but then getting embarrassed himself, when he saw that King Peppy had entered the room. The old Troll had been intent on not disturbing the bunch and head to the kitchen for a snack, but was unable to help stopping in his tracks upon hearing BroZone’s former leader. He was now staring at him with wide eyes.
“Oh! Mister King Peppy, sir! Or, um, Your Highness!” John Dory stuttered. “My bad, I was just pokin’ fun at Clay. Did you know he’s in love with Viva?”
Clay wailed, dismayed.

Hi, Hello, I need to talk about Bruce
Tumblr media
This beautiful man right here <3
IDK how much of this to consider spoilers for Trolls Band Together, so I'm doing all of it!
♠️ - ♣️ - ♥️ - ♦️ SPOILERS FOR BAND TOGETHER ♠️ - ♣️ - ♥️ - ♦️
Y'know, Branch's purple haired brother who's my favorite of his brothers for a few different reasons that I'm about to spew onto Tumblr at an unreasonable hour?
Okay so, Bruce is my favorite, and I think it's bullshit that the wiki calls him Spruce despite that not being his name anymore.
Trans headcanon? Maybe. Anyways!
I love how Bruce is written for many different reasons, I also love how he's handled when it comes to his body type.
Tumblr media
1 minute before going on stage, JD says he expects 100 more crunches before show-time, which is insane considering Bruce (I know that's not his name at this point, but that is what we're calling him) has already done over 500, and 100 crunches in 60 seconds? I don't think that's even possible.
Ofc this is who JD is as a character, BUT THIS POST ISN'T ABOUT HIM, he's just a walking ick.
I can't imagine this kind of treatment, which is implied to have gone on for quite some time...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...would give anybody a positive view of their body. I'm not going to add things on to make JD a worse person, even if I don't like him, but from what bits and pieces we do see, he puts more emphasis on Bruce's physical body than any of his other brothers.
For his other brothers, it's more about their clothing and personality presentation. Bruce? The emphasis was his body, abs specifically.
Tumblr media
It's not like he wasn't proud of them, but I feel as if they were another thing that still connected him to JD. All the brothers changed things about themselves that JD put emphasis on (Except Floyd, ig?).
But I'm straying away from the point I was trying to get to.
Tumblr media
By the time we see Bruce again, he's lost the abs and put on some weight. However, this is not treated as a bad thing. Which I absolutely adore.
Tumblr media
He's still perceived as attractive!! No jokes about "letting himself go" or even any jokes about putting on weight because he got married or whatever.
He's not muscular anymore, he's more laid-back and lives on VACATION ISLAND FOR FUCKS SAKE! He doesn't appear to have such a rigorous work-out routine anymore... Except his kids. I'd say having children 3 times your size would be intense.
Speaking of his children...
Tumblr media
THIS MAN HAD THIRTEEN CHILDREN??? My man, why
But I digress.
Also, not only is him being plus-size not treated as a joke or a negative thing, but
Tumblr media
HE STAYS THAT WAY!
Genuinely he makes me so happy, you guys have no idea. I love him.
Anyways, some smaller tid bits that I love about Bruce~
Tumblr media
THIS MAN'S HAIR <3 <3 <3 <3 I will explode. ALSO THOSE BANGS AAAA
Tumblr media
Him and his wife ughhhh <3 They're so goddamn cute.
Also we have a similar taste in women, which is "tall".
There are too many screenshots of his kids I could share, but I love dad Bruce.
Tumblr media
This fucking quote.
It lives rent free in my brain and I laugh like a child every time I hear it.
Probably my #1 favorite quote from the entire movie I laughed so hard
Tumblr media
Look at how cute he is here
Tumblr media
Him looking so proud of his baby brother
Anyways it's 1 am and my alarm is set for 7 so ima go to bed. I have negative points about Bruce too that I do wanna touch on at some point, but I just needed to dump all my love for him.
This is my coping mechanism for finals week.

Chapter One | Chapter Two | Chapter Three
Tumblr media
Branch spends the next few days trying his best to enjoy what time he has left. He stomps down the bitter sting every time his brothers get together to talk about the future and tries to bask in the little moments they allow him. Branch makes breakfast for Bruce and tries to wriggle a recipe out of him that he can cherish during the gray days. He spends an evening with Clay talking about novels and getting as many recommendations as he can so he can know what kind of books his brother likes. He even lets John Dory pick at a few of his projects so they can bond over their shared handiness born from their survivalist pasts. Branch has never gotten to know much about his brothers, he was so young when they left he can barely remember any of the little details, so he clings to everything now. Clay's ears flick when he's irritated over something insignificant, like a bent page in his book or the uneven amount of pencils at Branch's workspace. John Dory sleeps with that stupid glove on, and he cleans off his goggles every night because the routine helps him relax. Floyd hums rock songs in the shower even though he doesn't like the lyrics because he loves the melody. Bruce isn't a huge fan of seafood after so many years serving it back in his restaurant on Vacay Island but he loves Country Troll cuisine.
Branch gathers every little detail he can and he tucks it away because he knows that soon enough these few fleeting memories will be all that he has left to hold on to. Soon enough they'll be on their way and he'll be alone with only their ghosts to haunt him. He thought that he was finally done grieving. He thought that maybe he was finally ready to let go of the family that didn't want him. Now he can already feel their absence like a gaping wound even though they're still here sitting in the next room over.
Today is the day. Branch takes a fortifying breath and brushes nonexistent dust off his vest before slipping out of the kitchen to go gather up his brothers from the living space around the corner. He plasters a smile on his face as he steps through the entryway, leaning up against the arching entrance like nothing could possibly be wrong. John Dory has Clay tucked under his arm and is violently ruffling the younger troll's bright green hair. Bruce is cackling, nearly doubled over, and even Floyd is hiding a few loose chuckles behind his paw. Clay's hair admittedly doesn't look any different than it did before but that doesn't stop him from spewing protests.
"Are you guys done yet or should I give you some more time?" Branch teases, raising an unimpressed eyebrow that's betrayed by the amused smile spreading across his face.
John pauses his assault to look over at Branch and his grip seems to have loosened just enough for Clay to make his hasty escape. "I guess we can cut this short," John Dory shrugs, smirking while Clay grumbles and Bruce wipes tears from his eyes. John looks proud, smug in a way that Branch thinks only an oldest brother could be. His heart aches wondering if this is the last time he'll see that expression and he struggles to keep his smile in place.
"I'm sure the balloon is already set up so we better get this over with." Branch pushes off the entryway and tucks his hands deep into his trouser pockets in a hopefully subtle attempt to hide how they've started to shake. Bruce's laugh is still ringing in his ears and he can't help but ask himself if he'll be able to remember it so distinctly a year from now. He swallows thickly, eyes flicking from sibling to sibling and drinking in the easy smiles on their faces. They look so happy right now, joking and laughing and roughhousing like brothers are supposed to. Branch feels so out of place. Do they even care that they're leaving him behind all over again? Have they even noticed that they're ripping his heart to bits and stealing away the tattered pieces so he could never hope to be whole again without them? Do they think he's being childish because he's so heartbroken over something inevitable?
"I guess you're right," John Dory agrees, stretching out and popping his back. John throws Branch an easy smile and motions for the rest of their brothers to gather up so they can head out. Clay rolls his eyes and helps Floyd up from the armchair while Bruce stands from the couch. This is it. This is really it. Branch's heart flutters pathetically beneath his ribs and dread thrums through his veins. He wasn't ready to say goodbye. Not again. This wasn't enough time. He wanted more time. "Lead the way, little brother."
Branch is helpless to do anything else but swallow down the vile, bubbling emotions climbing up his throat and walk them out of the bunker towards the clearing Poppy arranged for their departure.
The pit in Branch's stomach only grows with each step and he listens with mounting irritation as his brothers chatter excitedly behind him. They're all excited to get back to their lives and Branch wishes he could begrudge them that. He wants so badly to be angry but he can't. They deserve to go back to their lives, their homes, their families. He doesn't want them to be miserable, he just wishes that he could be part of their happiness. He's well acquainted with loving others more than he's loved but the hurt never quite fades.
"Hey, Branch, you're quiet up there." Bruce calls and Branch looks over his shoulder curiously. Bruce smiles back teasingly, his eyes shining with bright mirth that Branch doesn't think the situation warrants, "Got something on your mind?"
"Or someone," Floyd joins in with a playful wiggle of his eyebrows that makes Clay cough a poorly concealed laugh.
Branch frowns, eyebrows furrowing, "What?"
"Poppy's going to be there, right?" Bruce asks like it's obvious and the pieces slot into place. They thought he was distracted because Poppy was going to be there to see them off?
"Oh. Not really," Branch shrugs. He turns back around when he sees their expressions shift, smiles dropping while they share confused glances. Branch figured it would be obvious why he was so quiet but maybe that was a bit presumptuous of him. He's been eagerly spending as much time with them as he could these past few weeks despite how obvious they were about their plans to exclude him. He guesses his silence now could be seen as a little odd, all things considered.
They don't say anything else for the rest of the trip. At least not to Branch. He hears them muttering but he doesn't try to listen in or even turn his head to look back again. He does his best to keep his eyes straight ahead and tune them out. Before he knows it he can see the large burgundy body of the hot air balloon growing steadily larger in the distance and the dread burrowed in his gut spikes. This is it.
John Dory lets out an impressed whistle, "It's bigger than I expected," he admits but he sounds excited about it. It hadn't even occurred to Branch that his brothers wouldn't really be familiar with traditional Pop Troll transportation anymore. Branch offers a noncommittal hum and scans the area around the balloon's basket for a splash of pink. He spots her quickly and some of the hurt in his chest dissipates. He can breathe a little easier knowing that she's here.
It's only a few moments before Poppy notices them, Viva a bundle of energy at her side. Pink eyes find them from across the clearing and a smile breaks out across Poppy's face like the sun after a rainstorm. She bounces on the balls of her feet and waves excitedly, calling a loud hello instead of waiting the thirty seconds it would take for them to reach her. Branch can't help but chuckle, shaking his fondly with a roll of his eyes while John and Bruce yell back their own greetings. Viva rushes over at top speed, twirling around Clay before falling into step beside him like it was second nature. She's rambling excitedly about something that Branch doesn't have the energy to try and follow but Clay is smiling brightly and nodding along.
"Hey," Poppy greets him softly, sliding up to him and gently grasping the front of his vest so she could pull him in for a swift kiss. Her eyes scan over his face and a frown tugs at her lips, "Are you okay?" She whispers, ducking in close for some semblance of privacy.
Branch tries to offer a reassuring smile but it feels bittersweet and tired, "As good as I can be," he sighs, lifting a hand to rest it softly over hers, "Better with you here." He confesses and bumps their foreheads together. She smiles, though the worried furrow between her brows remains. Branch wants nothing more than to smooth out the creases, chase away the concern she's wasting on him, but he knows that there's nothing he can do to convince her that he's fine. She wouldn't believe him even if there was.
She presses another quick kiss to his cheek before pulling away to properly greet his brothers, sharing a few warm hellos, "So, is everyone all set?" She looks between them, hands on her hips, like she expects them to have luggage despite the fact that they arrived empty-handed. She doesn't wait for a response before she turns on her heel and gestures to the small grassy hill next to the balloon that would give them easy access, "You guys should have plenty of room and there's a bunch of blankets if it gets cold, I also packed a lot of snacks just in case you got hungry. Oh! And there are some games--" "Okay, okay, sounds great Poppyseed," John interrupts, eyes wide when he realizes that Poppy had no intention of stopping her ramblings. He raises his hands in an attempt to slow her down, "What about a manual?" He presses curiously, the shock bleeding away to a fond amusement that made Branch's heart pang.
"Here," Branch reaches up into his hair and pulls out the pilot's manual. He refused to give it back after Poppy'd thrown it out just a few months ago. It's been haunting him these past few days but he hadn't dared to forget it on the way out of the bunker. He steps forward and passes the thick volume to John Dory, trying not to look at his brother's grateful smile, "It's pretty extensive but you only really need to read the first and the fifth chapter for a quick trip." He clears his throat awkwardly, trying to keep up a lighthearted attitude
"I'll take that," Clay reaches over and plucks the book from John Dory's hands with ease, grinning as he completely ignores John's protests. Viva giggles by Clay's side and even leans in to get a better look at the manual while Clay flips through it to see the table of contents. Branch watches the two self-proclaimed Putt Putt Trolls and hopes that maybe Clay will come along when Viva inevitably decides to visit. Branch has come to really enjoy having another level-headed, fact-oriented troll around and one brother would be better than none. If he's lucky, which he can admit isn't likely, maybe Clay will even keep him updated on their other siblings.
"So this thing is all ready to go?" Bruce looks up at the large balloon, admiring the structure with muted curiosity. He doesn't look too interested but rather intrigued by something unfamiliar.
"Yep!" Poppy chirps, bouncing over to stand back and look with Bruce despite being well-acquainted with Pop Troll travel methods. She's already flown out to visit each of the other Kingdoms at least once since the end of the Rockapocalypse. "All the prep work was finished last night so all you need to do now is climb aboard." She explains with a curt nod, clearly proud of herself and her work.
"Well!" John Dory claps his hands together drawing everyone's attention back to him, "Sounds like that's that then, let's get this show on the road, huh?"
"We shouldn't drag this out any longer," Floyd agrees with a sad smile and a small nod. John moves first, stepping forward to ruffle Branch's hair before walking over to climb up the incline. He vaults over the lip of the basket easily and quickly begins looking around. Floyd follows after him, shuffling forward with a clear exhaustion weighing down his limbs. He walks right past Branch without even glancing back, hiking up the hill and accepting John Dory's help into the basket with whispered thanks. Branch swallows convulsively, trying to push down the lump growing in his throat. Did Floyd not even want to say goodbye?
A hand lands lightly on his shoulder and Branch turns around only to be wrapped up in Bruce's arms. Instinctively Branch hugs back, squeezing tightly and nuzzling into Bruce's comforting hold. Bruce's arms envelop him in a warm, secure embrace and Branch mourns the fact that he'll likely never get to feel safe in his brother's arms again. "It was really nice seeing you again," Bruce murmurs into Branch's hair with a soft sniffle.
Branch's own eyes burn but he forces out a small laugh, "Yeah, you too, man." He doesn't think he'll ever forget the joy he felt when Bruce first told them that he was a father. He was terrified and elated at the idea of being an uncle. Bruce pulls back and wipes his eyes, a bright and happy smile on his face before he, too, leaves. It's getting harder and harder for Branch to keep his expression neutral and he finds himself desperately wishing for Clay and Viva to make their leave before he starts to break again.
Clay, thankfully, steps in and pulls Branch into a side hug with the manual tucked neatly under his other arm. Viva detaches to go say her own farewells to Poppy and Branch is pitifully grateful for the modicum of privacy. Clay presses their temples together with a lop-sided grin, "Take care of yourself, okay?" He extracts himself quickly but also reaches out to ruffle Branch's hair like John Dory had and Branch doesn't even try to push him away.
"Yeah, you too." Branch tries to smile back but his world is starting to feel dark and desaturated again. He wonders if Poppy would notice. She insists that she can see his hues shift with his mood even when Branch himself couldn't tell. He wonders if she can see the color draining out of him the way it feels like it should be. Watching Clay turn away and stride confidently over to the balloon stirs something deep and anguished in Branch's chest and he stomps down the urge to reach out and ask them to come back. It was too familiar watching them leave and being powerless to make them stay.
Viva and Poppy wrap up their own muted conversation and share a tight hug before Viva rushes off after Clay. They climb into the basket together, talking excitedly about something or another, and it makes Branch's stomach churn seeing them all so content while his world crashes down around him again. He realizes with sudden and startling clarity that he has to say goodbye. He can't let them leave this time without saying something.
He scrambles forward before Poppy can make her way back to his side and looks up into the basket with wild eyes. Floyd spots him first and his merry expression drops immediately but Branch speaks before Floyd gets a chance to question him. "I know it probably doesn't mean much," Branch starts hesitantly and has to take a calming breath when his brothers' attention shifts unwaveringly to him. "But I'm going to miss you guys." John shares a confused look with Bruce and Clay while Floyd's frown only becomes more pronounced. Floyd moves back towards the edge of the basket with a shake of his head.
"What do you mean? Of course it means something," Floyd assures softly, leaning over the rim to better meet Branch's eyes. Floyd's scanning him over and it makes Branch feel exposed.
Branch tries to laugh it off, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, "I guess I wanted to make sure that you knew this time." He cringes the second the words leave his mouth, "That came out wrong--" He immediately tries to backtrack before he ruins any chance he has at ever seeing any of his brothers ever again.
"Back up," John Dory cuts in, appearing at Floyd's side, "Why is this starting to sound like goodbye?"
Branch freezes, dumbfounded, and blinks up at them. His anxiety is drowned out quickly by his confusion, "..isn't it?" He asks only to be met with two startled faces. Branch cranes his neck to look at Bruce and Clay so he can see if they're as confused as he is but they look just as upset as John and Floyd do.
"Hey, Viv, maybe we should give them a second." Poppy chimes in from somewhere behind him and he watches distractedly as Viva climbs back out of the balloon and walks off somewhere with her sister. He's sure he'll be grateful to Poppy for this later but right now he's just trying to get his thoughts sorted. Why were they so shocked? Did his brothers really think that he was that oblivious? He wasn't blind, it was easy to see that they were keeping him away from their important conversations.
John Dory hops over the rim of the basket and lands neatly in front of Branch, "Why in the world would this be goodbye?" He asks urgently. There's something desperate in his eyes that Branch can't quite discern but he doesn't understand why they're the ones making such a fuss about this. He was the one who had a right to be upset but he was trying to let them go.
Branch tilts his head and scoffs, sparing a glance at the hill where Bruce is carefully helping Floyd back out of the balloon before turning his attention back to John, "Aren't you guys leaving?" He raises an eyebrow, crossing his arms to keep himself from fidgeting with the hem of his vest. John Dory gestures to him frantically, making an exaggerated noise of disbelief before turning to the others like they could possibly help him.
"Yeah, for now," Clay looks at Branch like he's grown a second head and it was really starting to piss him off. What right did they have to be so flabbergasted? They were the ones who made plans to ditch him, not the other way around. This wasn't his plan.
"Where in the world did you get the idea that we weren't coming back?" Bruce adds on, asking the question that was apparently on all of their minds as he lowers himself down from the edge of the hill to drop down beside John.
"It's not like you've been subtle," Branch snarls, taking a sick pleasure in how his brothers jump away from the sudden tone shift. Good. If they wanted to play dumb they deserve to face the consequences. "You've been here for almost two weeks and every time I happen to walk into the room the conversation dies. A few days ago you were talking about just how much room Vacay Island and the Golf Course have for everyone without even a single mention of Pop Village. Are you kidding me! Why the hell would I think you were staying?" Recognition is blooming across Floyd's face and he can see the realization dawning for Clay like it was happening in slow motion. The green-haired troll's eyes widen just a fraction and his mouth drops open into a soft oh and it'd be funny if it wasn't because Branch had known all along that they were planning to abandon him again. He was so tired of being thrown away like he was nothing and they had the audacity to think he was too stupid to catch on? Maybe Poppy was right and he should just cut his losses and accept that they didn't want him in their lives. He was better off without them anyway.
"You got it all wrong!" John reaches out and places his gloved hand firmly on Branch's shoulder but Branch jerks back with a growl. There wasn't any guilt on their faces but instead a soft, bitter understanding that was starting to make Branch feel cornered. He was getting real sick of being left out of the loop.
"Branch, please, just let us explain," Floyd implores. Branch huffs, glaring, but some of the tension falls away at his brother's plea. Floyd looks at him with desperate lilac eyes that are starting to fill with rising guilt and Branch loathes to see his kind-hearted sibling so hurt. He doesn't want to cave, he wants them to deal with how they've hurt him and feel the weight of their actions, but it's Floyd who's asking and that's enough to break his resolve. Branch waves a hand with a sharp exhale, silently urging them to continue before he changes his mind.
His brothers sag with visible relief and John Dory quickly scrambles to take the reigns once more. "We thought you were uncomfortable," he tries to explain and his face his twisted apologetically with such genuine regret that Branch wants to believe him. "Whenever we started talking about our plans for after we went home you'd start to get all fidgety or you'd just kind of…"
"Leave," Bruce finishes off. John Dory's eyes flick back to Bruce before nodding.
"We thought that you didn't want to talk about it, which feels really stupid in hindsight." Clay admits with a disappointed sigh. Like he's realizing he should have known better but he'd been so caught up in the moment that it hadn't even occurred to him.
Branch can only stare at them in disbelief, waiting for one of them to laugh and tell him this was some sort of stupid joke. "Are you serious?" He seethes, paws closing into tight fists that shake at his sides. "The first few days you guys only talked about how eager you were to go home," Branch had been a bit flighty at first and, in the beginning, his heart would jump into his throat every time they started talking about how excited they were to go back to their lives. He was scared. Scared to lose them, scared that despite everything they just went through for each other it still wasn't enough to hold them together, and he didn't want to ruin their happiness with his own catastrophizing. "You laughed in my face when you thought I wanted us to be in each other's lives and you think I'm jumping to conclusions thinking that this is the last time I'm going to see you?"
Floyd looks horrified. Branch realizes that there's a decent chance that Floyd didn't know about that part. "Branch, I'm moving to Pop Village." Floyd says in lieu of any empty comforts he could've offered. What's done is done, they couldn't take it back.
"What?" Branch breathes, hesitant joy bubbling up and peeking through the anger still burning bright in his stomach.
Floyd smiles and it's bright and contagious, drawing similar expressions from their brothers, "I wanted it to be a surprise but after everything I really don't want to go back to Mount Rageous. I still need to talk the details over with Poppy but I wanted to move here to be closer to other trolls again. To be closer to you." Floyd looks like he wants to close the distance between them and Branch is glad that he doesn't. There's a tentative trust being built but Branch is still wired from the roller coaster this conversation has become and he's sure that one wrong move will send him tumbling.
"I'm coming back with him to pick up Rhonda but I plan to stop by often now that I know where this place is," John Dory gestures back the way they came towards Pop Village. It's plausible, it's all plausible, but Branch is still hesitant to believe them. He doesn't know what he'd do if all these reassurances were empty and meaningless.
Bruce steps forward slowly, raising his hands in surrender when Branch takes a hasty step back. His face is soft and open when he speaks, "I'm sorry we weren't really thinking, Branch. And we never should have implied that we didn't want to be a family again. We were frustrated and angry and tensions were high but adding everything up it's not too hard to see how you came to these conclusions," Branch wonders if this is what a dad voice is. He never met his father and he never really had the kind of friends that would introduce him to their parents. He imagines that this is what Bruce sounds like when he soothes his kids and tells them that everything is going to be alright and that makes something small and broken buried under his ribs yearn. "We want you to visit too, B. I want you to come to Vacay Island and meet your nephews and niece." "And I'd love to show you around the Golf Course!" Clay chimes in brightly, eyes shining with unshed tears that contrast with the fond smile on his face.
"Have you seen your bunker? You'd be amazing at camping." John Dory agrees warmly.
"We just got you back," Floyd murmurs but it's loud in their close proximity. "I don't think any of us want to say goodbye."
Branch feels the last of his protective anger drain out of him and sucks in a shaky breath. He smiles, uncertain and thin, but it seems to be enough to reassure his brothers. "Okay."
"We're really sorry, Branch," Clay insists, blinking away the wetness in his eyes and staring over at his youngest brother with blatant worry, "We really just weren't thinking, man. We never wanted to exclude you or make you feel like this was it."
"It's okay, really, I have a bad habit of overthinking this kind of thing," Branch sniffs, trying to be casual despite how his heart was still racing. He was already upset that he'd accidentally made a big deal out of nothing but it was admittedly nice to be reassured so sincerely. It soothed his frayed nerves in a way that was strange but welcome.
"It's not," Floyd disagrees quickly and Branch startles, "It's not, not really, but we'll have time to make up for it, okay?" And isn't that everything that Branch ever wanted? He'd wanted more time and miraculously they're giving it to him. Maybe this isn't the end, maybe it wasn't time for goodbyes after all. His heart starts to calm and a fragile hope begins to bloom where the anxiety was nestled under his sternum.
"Yeah," Branch nods, his smile shifting into something lighter, "I'd like that."
John reaches forward and snags Branch by the wrist, tugging him forward before Branch could even think to ask what was going on. John Dory's arms wrap around him in a bone-crushing hug, "I'll be back, got it?" He says firmly into Branch's hair. Branch nods into John Dory's shoulder, arms raised with shocked uncertainty. He gives in after a few beats and hugs his brother back as tightly as he can.
Branch lets the hug linger, grasping tightly to the leather of John Dory's vest until the contact starts to make his skin itch. He detaches himself stiffly, shaking out his arms with an awkward chuckle, "You guys really should get going, though. You're burning daylight." It still hurts to see them go but it feels different than it had before.
"That's probably for the best, huh?" Floyd agrees, reaching out a hand to Clay in a silent request for help that the older troll quickly jumps to oblige.
Branch uses the time it takes his brothers to hoist themselves back into the basket to compose himself. These past few weeks have been incredibly jarring and he thinks that he's seen enough of his emotions for the next few months but… it's also been surprisingly rewarding. He turns to scan the treeline hoping to spot a flash of pink but he doesn't even have to go looking before Poppy and Viva pop into view already making their way back over. They had to of been watching from a distance but Branch is confident that Poppy would have dragged them far enough away that they couldn't have overhead anything so he's not worried.
Viva bounds back over to the balloon and practically tackles Clay in her dash over to him. They immediately start talking quietly and this time Branch can admire their dynamic without any clouds of resentment hanging over him.
"You got this thing figured out?" Branch asks. "Totally. No need to worry," Clay assures, raising the manual and wiggling it for emphasis. Branch is glad that there's someone on that thing who'll actually read the instructions.
"I'll see you around, then, I guess." Branch smiles.
"Soon," Bruce promises.
With that they cut the ropes holding the balloon down and start the ascent into the open air. Branch and Poppy wave with vastly different levels of energy and their siblings wave back. There's no pit in Branch's stomach as he watches them get further and further away and no crushing sorrow when they say their goodbyes. It's not goodbye this time, not really, it's see you later. That makes him feel lighter than he has in days.
"You're looking blue," Poppy admires at his side, slotting her paw into his like it's meant to be there. You're looking happy, she means.
"I am." He admits quietly and is surprised to find that he means it.

TROLLS HOLIDAY OF HAVOC- A VALENTINES FANFIC: Part 1 (warning, rlly long)
only read this story if you are like REALLY bored and have nothing to do for the next bajillion minutes cuz ITS LONG
Its a mix of Broppy with a bit of Cliva!
I wrote this on Wattpad if you would rather read it there. 😘
"UGHHHHHHH," John Dory groaned as he and the rest of the BroZone brothers fell onto the couch the morning after one of their shows.
They were in Branch's bunker living room, where all of them except for Bruce lived now, though Bruce did live there when he was planning on staying in Pop Village for a while for shows, like this last week.
And there was only one way to describe what the brothers felt now: EXHAUSTED.
"I can't believe we did six shows in five days last week!" Clay groaned.
"I don't think I've slept since Monday," Branch sighed.
"At least we were all together," Floyd suggested. "It's better than when we were all apart, right?"
They all stared at him. It was obvious from their faces that they didn't really agree.
"I miss Brandy," Bruce sighed sadly, taking a picture of his wife and kids out of his hair.
"You always miss Brandy," John said, annoyed. "Why don't you enjoy hanging around us for a little while at least?"
"Because you guys never tell me how much you love me," Bruce shot back.
Floyd touched his shoulder. "Bruce, we love you a ton."
Bruce stared at him, then shrugged Floyd's hand off of his should. "Ehh, it's not the same."
"I'd be concerned if it was." Branch stood up. "Guys, we're all acting weird and mopey. You know why?"
"Because you didn't make us pancakes for breakfast like we asked?" John asked.
Branch frowned. "What? No. I told you; I don't have all the ingredients!"
"Well, I offered to go to the store for you, but nooooo you said--"
"It's because we all need a break!" Branch interrupted. "We've been working our butts off ever since we got back together, which is good, but we deserve a break sometime. Which is why--" He turned and grabbed the BroZone Planner book from off of the breakfast table, "--I completely emptied all of our activities this week." He placed it in front of Clay.
"What?! No way!" Clay opened the planner to the week that it was. It was true. The whole week had nothing written anywhere on it.
The brothers stared at it for a while.
"Omigosh, yes!! This is what I've been secretly wanting for the past two months!" John gave a sigh of relief.
"That means we can do whatever we want all week!" Floyd smiled. "This is gonna be so much fun!"
"Guys, we should totally go bowling!" Bruce suggested.
John gave Bruce a funny look. "Why?"
"Cuz I haven't been bowling in forever! Last time I went bowling with Brandy, I broke my left pinkie toe!" He lifted his foot to show his toe, which was hanging in a weird way.
"Eww, that is disgusting, put that down!" Branch shrieked, covering his eyes.
"Dude, it's just the way of nature. Things break. Including toes," Bruce explained.
"That doesn't mean we want to see it!" Floyd gagged.
"Okay, okay!! If you put that foot down, we'll go bowling!" John compromised.
"Okie!" Bruce put down his foot and gasped. "We can call it-- browling!!"
"Haha!! Yes! I love it!" John laughed, nudging him.
Clay had been quiet. His eyes were so wide they looked like saucers. Then he gave a relieved sigh. "Oh my gosh, it is so satisfying to open this planner to this week and see nothing in it."
"There's not nothing in it," Literal John pointed out. "It says 'Valentines Day' right there."
Clay gave him the bro, are you kidding me?  look. "Thanks."
"You're welcome! 🤗" John answered.
"Ahhh, Valentines Day," Bruce gave another sigh, this time full of relaxation and enjoyment, as he sat back. "You know, Brandy and I met on Valentines Day."
His brother turned to him, annoyed.
"Yah, we know," John grunted. "You tell us every Saturd--"
"It was exactly ten years ago," Bruce began suddenly.
The rest of BroZone groaned.
"I was new to Vacay Island and the Islanders, and watched them party in the evening of Valentines Day, all partying like they were never gonna stop. I watched sadly, wishing that I had my own Valentine to party with."
"And then that's when you saw her," Branch predicted.
"By the snack stand," Clay continued.
"All alone," Floyd reminded.
"Looking kind of depressed," John finished. "Maybe a bit like us right no--"
"And then!" Bruce didn't wait for JD to finish. "I decided now was my chance. So I walked up to that beauty. Her eyes were shining like bits of heaven itself. Her skin as yellow as a really ripe banana. Her hair as stringy as the cheese in a cheese and spinach ravioli."
"Why do you always describe her like that?" Clay asked. "It absolutely disgust--"
Bruce ignored him. "And I walked up to her and said, 'Hey, you must be today's special cuz you're making me hungry!"
All the brothers winced, just as they always did whenever Bruce got to that part.
"I'm really surprised she didn't punch you after saying that," Branch remarked.
"Oh, she did," Bruce chuckled.
"Wait, what?!!" Clay gasped.
"Dude, how come you've never told us the one interesting part in this lame story?!!" John gaped.
"I don't know. It didn't really matter," Bruce shrugged.
"What is wrong with you?" Clay asked.
Floyd laughed.
"Well, anyways. After I said that, she--"
They all groaned again.
"BROOOOOZOOONNNEEEE!!!" came a high but sweet voice from the hallway.
Queen Poppy burst into the living room, her face full of excitement and joy. She waved a pink envelope in the air before twirling excitedly in the room. "I'm sorry that I just popped out of nowhere, but I had to tell you--!!"
She stopped, noticing Bruce's mouth open, mid-story. "Oop, am I interrupting something?"
"Nope, you just saved us," Clay said gratefully.
"Yes, please continue. Even your news may beat Bruce's story," John pleaded.
Branch smiled and rolled his eyes. He was completely grateful to Poppy for interrupting though. Hearing the same story every week wasn't very fun.
"What'd you want to tell us?" He asked, walking toward her.
"Well, you know how Valentines Day is in two days?" She sang in a happy voice.
"Ugh, don't start Bruce all over again!" John said, alarmed.
Bruce crossed his arms. "I don't get why you guys don't enjoy it. It's absolutely lovely."
"Sure, Bruce. If you say so." Floyd patted his shoulder.
"We were just talking about it," Branch informed Poppy, who looked a bit confuzzled.
"Oh. Well, good!" She grabbed his left arm. "I wanted to invite you all to--"
"Wait, invite us to?" Branch stopped her. "Poppy, I thought I told you, we were taking a break from parties and everything else all week!"
Poppy looked at him, remembered, then blushed. "Oh. Well, uhhh--" she scratched the back of her head. "It's not really a... party."
Branch sighed and took the pink envelope and opened it. Inside the card said:
YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO POP VILLAGE'S FIRST ANNUAL VALENTINE'S DAY DANCE!!
Formal Dress Required. Snacks Provided! 6pm to 9pm.
"Popppyyy," he gave long groan.
"I'm sorry, I didn't-- I forgot, you don't have to go!" Poppy's face flushed even more.
"Another party?!" John moaned, leaning back on the couch.
"But I was hoping to go back home that day!" Bruce said. He sighed. "Well, I guess..."
Clay also gave a sad sigh. "There goes our empty week." He grabbed a pencil and tried to bring himself to write in the planner Valentine Dance.
"For the second time, it's not empty! It already says 'Valentines Day', right there!" John pointed out again.
"DUDE HOW LITERAL CAN YOU BE?!!" Clay shrieked.
"Guys!" Poppy yelled.
They all turned to her.
She turned back to Branch. "Look. You're right. You told me not to invite you to a party. I thought the ball would be alright since it wasn't really a party, but I shouldn't have taken you so literally, and I'm sorry. You all don't have to go, no pressure." She gave him a kind smile and turned around and left.
They all stared after her.
"That was really sweet of her," Floyd said.
"Wow. Branch. She practically got on her knees, begging for forgiveness, and you just stand there like a doofus!" John said.
"Yeah, Brandy never would never have done that for me," Bruce said, impressed.
"Mostly because she doesn't have knees," Clay smarted.
The Clay and John snickered.
"I don't find that funny!" Bruce shouted.
Branch sat down next to Floyd.
"Penny for your thoughts," Floyd said gently.
"I think I'm gonna go to the dance," Branch said shortly.
"What?!" John turned to him. "What happened to browling?!!"
"We have all week to do that, it's just one day, guys." Branch shrugged. "Besides, I kinda want to make this Valentines Day perfect for Poppy. The past few haven't gone-- well, very well."
"What do you mean?" Floyd asked.
~~~ THREE YEARS AGO~~~
"Happy Valentines Day, Branch!!!" Poppy held out a Valentine's Day card to a grumpy Branch.
He took it with a plastered smile then stomped on it angrily.
"😱😱!!!" Everyone gasped.
~~~ TWO YEARS AGO~~~
"Happy Valentines Day, Branch!!" Poppy held out another Valentine's Day card for a grumpy Branch.
He took it and stomped on it.
"😱😱!!!" Everyone gasped.
~~~ONE YEAR AGO (Branch has his true colors now, y'all)~~~
"Happy Valentines Day, Branch!!" Poppy held out her annual Valentine's Day card to a now happy Branch, sure he wasn't going to stomp on it.
Glitter sprayed in his face.
"EEEWW, I GOT GLITTER IN MY MOUTH!!" Branch shrieked. "I THINK IMMA PUKE-" runs away gagging dangerously.
 "😱😱!!!" Everyone gasped.
~~~BACK TO PRESENT TIME~~~
"Oof, yah, you do owe her a good Valentines Day," Floyd completely agreed.
"And maybe this is my way of doing it," Branch said. He got up. "I'm going to go tell Poppy. But none of you guys have to go."
"Oh, don't worry, we've got that in mind," John said, annoyed.
"Poppy!" Branch ran out of the living room smack into--
"Hiii!!" Poppy gave him a giddy smile.
"Poppy, were you standing there the whole time?" Branch asked, lifting an eyebrow.
She shifted uncomfortably. "Mayyybeee."
He couldn't help smiling.
"I was hoping you'd say you would still come! And you did!!" Poppy gave an excited squeal and jumped onto him, giving him a big hug.
"Okay, okay, but I don't think the rest of them are coming," Branch gently pushed her off of him.
"That's okay." She waved her hand carelessly. "As long as you're there."
He grinned.
"Viva and I are so excited, we're planning on decorating it all by ourselves and we're ordering the biggest cake you've ever seen and--" she gave an excited gasp. "Branch!! You'll have to come over tomorrow! I have so many ideas for your tuxedo!"
"Well, I-- uhh." Branch wasn't sure if he wanted to wear another tuxedo in his life. He had worn that all week so far.
"How about around 11am tomorrow?! Okay, good!" She kissed his cheek, not waiting for an answer. "I'll see you then!!!" And she danced toward the elevator.
Branch gave an exasperated sigh.
~~~ The Next Day~~~
"I'm off to Poppy's to see about tuxedos, guys," Branch said.
"Ouch, good luck with that." John lay on his back on the couch, covering the whole thing.
Branch rolled his eyes.
"Branch, do you have a mailbox?" Bruce asked from the breakfast nook. "I haven't had mail in forever!"
"Pfft, who'd send mail to you?" John asked. "You aren't a thrilling teenager anymore, Bruce."
"As a matter of fact, I get tons of fanmail, Mister I'm-Jealous-Cuz-I've-Never-Gotten-One-Fan-Letter-In-My-Entire-Life. But I was talking more about my family," Bruce said defensively.
"Mmm." John had no comeback.
"As an answer to your question," Branch finally managed to cut in, "No, Bruce, I do not. Poppy's working on that. I can go get your mail at the post office if you want."
"Ooh, and while you're there," Clay handed him a letter to mail.
"What's this?" Branch asked.
"Well, it's--" Clay began in his I'm-about-to-blab-about-serious-boring-and-important-stuff-for-about-fifteen-minutes voice.
"Ya know what, doesn't matter, I'll take it." Branch was not about to stand here for fifteen minutes. Not when he could be talking to Poppy. "Anything else?"
"Oh! I have a grocery list!" John got up and handed him a five-foot-long list.
"John, I'm going to Poppy's pod. I'm not going anywhere near the grocery store."
"Well, you asked 'anything else' and I told you!" John went back to the couch. "You're welcome."
Branch rolled his eyes.
"Here, Branch. I'll go do that stuff." Floyd got up from the breakfast table. "You can go on ahead to Poppy's pod."
"Oh. Thanks, Floyd." Branch gave him a smile.
"We're off!" Floyd announced.
"Hmm."
"They don't care, let's just go before they order us to go pick up something somewhere else," Branch whispered.
"Good idea," Floyd agreed.
They started off toward the direction of Poppy's pod (the post office was on the way).
"Soooo...." Floyd said in a singsong voice.
"Soooo?" Branch asked.
"What's your gameplan?"
"For what?"
Floyd laughed. "Asking Poppy to the dance!"
"What?" Branch gave him a funny look. "I have to ask her? She's not just gonna assume we're going together because we're dating?"
"Well, of course she does. But it's more fun for the girls when they get asked." Floyd grinned. "You know, you'd think you've never been in a famous boyband."
"Yeah, well, girls weren't always my first priority, you know."
"I can see that." Floyd's grin turned into a gentle smile. "Branch, I want you to do how proud I am of you."
Branch shifted uncomfortably. "For what?"
"Getting along. Without us. Even before you had your true colors back. You dealth with Grandma..." Floyd gulped. "Well, you dealt with that all alone. And you still went on."
"Barely." Branch shrugged. "If it wasn't for Poppy, I don't know where I'd be right now."
"Well, it wasn't just Poppy." Floyd looked straight into Branch's blue eyes. "Poppy isn't in control of you changing, Branch. That's almost all you. She may have changed you, but you let her. And that's why you're here now, dating the Queen of the Pop Trolls."
Branch flushed.
Floyd chuckled. "I remember the day you were born. Clay made ten lame jokes about you right away, laughing at them by himself, Bruce seemed to be grumpy because you had blue eyes when he had always wanted them, and John looked like he wanted to die because he now had four brothers instead of three. But I knew right away, you were something special, Branch."
"I'm not that special," Branch said. But he couldn't stop smiling. "Oh, there's Poppy and Viva!"
They were in front of Poppy's pod, doing backflips in the grass, giggling like crazy.
"Oh, man, they're gonna break their necks!" Branch rushed to them. "Poppy, wait, don't--!!"
Floyd laughed, watching. Then he looked at Viva. She was laughing at Branch as well, giving him a teasing push, and he turned on her and tweaked a blonde curl, grinning, something he had grown to do lately as he as now as close to her as his brothers.
Branch knew a lot about Viva already because he hung around Poppy so much. Floyd wondered if he was close enough to her to be able to jokingly tweak a curl.
No, definitely not. But it would be fun to have a friend like that. And he hadn't had very many since he went to Mount Rageous.
Suddenly, an idea popped in his head. It sounded alright. Would Viva think so?
He smiled and walked toward her calmly, on a mission.
Jackie and Wilson.
A/N: so, i was reading @bloodweep 's (go check them out) fic about John Dory and reader babysitting and other trolls that the kid was theirs. then, Jackie and Wilson by Hozier came on, and i got this idea. and i thought it was super cute, so i immediately came here to write it.
pairing: John Dory x male reader.
warnings: none. just fluff. :)
Tumblr media
you were an absolute ray of sunshine. you were carefree, youthful, easy-going. you were the complete opposite of your boyfriend, John Dory. that's what confused his brothers. though, they were beyond excited for the two of you. especially John. John had finally found someone who could deal with his antics.
you were running around and playing with Bruce's kids. giving him and Brandi a much-needed break from the chaos. John and his brothers, along with Poppy, Viva, and Brandi, were all gathered around a table at the restaurant on Vacay Island. John had been making heart eyes towards you the whole time. much to the amusement of everyone else.
"so, John," Bruce started. John quickly turned his head, snapping out of his loved induced trance.
"what made you fall for yn? i mean, we've all seen the you look at him," Bruce ponders, smiling as he speaks. he raises his hand slightly, waving his pointer finger in a circle.
"oh my gosh, you guys are adorable," Poppy excitedly states. flapping her hands up and down.
John rolls his eyes. as they land on you he smiles, "i know this is cliche, but everything." his hands grip the zipper flies of his jacket, trying to think of what else to say. in truth, he really did love everything about you. he knows he's not good at showing it. hell, he has a hard time showing his brothers that he cares. but, with your help, it's something that he's getting better at. you make him a better man, as he does for you.
"John," Floyd speaks, and taps his shoulder, taking John out of his head.
"i mean, i don't even know where to start. i love him for reasons wretched and divine," John sighs. "and man, he found me just in time." John speaks about you with a fondness that his brothers rarely saw. it was obvious that you made his life a million times better. that was something that everyone was eternally grateful for.
Poppy and Branch share a glance, knowing how this story goes. Poppy is the same thing for Branch, as you are for John.
"he's gonna save me. he has saved me," John states bluntly, though his eyes gleam with pure happiness. "calls me baby, and runs his hands through my hair."
Clay smiles widely, unable to contain the excitement at the opportunity to tease his older brother. "ooh, someone's in loooovvvveeee~" Clay teases, good naturedly.
Bruce lightly slaps Clay's shoulder, to quiet him. John laughs, shaking his head. John crosses his arms, turning to the smiling group.
"he knows me crazy and soothes me daily. and better yet, he doesn't care. we'll take Rhonda places and be detectives. ride 'round picking up clues," John trails off. he thinks back to conversations you've had.
you had planned so far into the future together. you both wanted to get married, have kids. the future was bright and hopeful. you were so excited to get to spend the rest of your lives together. it gave John a reason not to disappear again. not that he wanted to, he promised himself that he would stay with his family. but, you were the solid reason he wanted to stay.
"we'll name our children Jackie and Wilson, raise 'em on rhythm and blues."
Part 1/?
Trolls Au fic
When a mysterious troll comes to town dressed as a tiny tree costume, Branch is bewildered to find that it’s someone completely new but unfortunately not unfamiliar.
1808 words
Warnings: extremely close to the third movie this part is. But it changes as it goes on in other parts. Dad’s an asshole.
A/N: please don’t be mad that only Branch and Poppy are going on the adventure, I really struggle with some of the Brozone brother’s personalities (mostly Floyd and clay) and I just genuinely think that Bruce would be too upset to even look at their dad so. Yeah. Anyways enjoy! Also dad is insufferable I don’t want anyone to like him :)
Plenty of years ago, The troll tree stood tall, and trolstice was on the horizon, but Willow and Barry had a family to take care of, especially a new egg. Willow sat in her pod humming to the egg in her nest of hair. Barry was dealing with their oldest.
“Johnny, buddy, you can handle taking care of your brothers can’t you, besides my mom is here!” Barry grinned down at John and patted his head. Fixing the goggles on his face. John Dory seemed appalled at the idea of taking on such a responsibility.
John shook his head. “No! I’m still a kid! I have a life to leave, and you’re just running away?”
“Don’t call it running, it sounds less cool.” Barry walked away from John, not wanting to see him upset.
“It’s not Cool, it's totally not cool!” John yelled, trudging after his father.
While they argued. Willow cradled the egg with a frown, staring at the two of them. Her heart broke as she saw little Floyd walking up to her.
“You’re leaving?” Floyd’s voice cracked tears piling in his eyes. Willow pulled him up into her lap.
“Well, yeah, but not because of you or any of your brothers, but your dad and I have to find a better place for us to live. Instead of living at risk every day.” She brushed his hair out of his face. She kissed his forehead gently.
Floyd nodded. “Yeah but why do you both have to go?” He asked, looking up at him. Her eyes softened.
Willow played with a little bit of his hair. “We’ll cover more ground and be back in no time, and don’t worry, I have you all in my heart. Always. I’ll find you in due time.” she placed her hand on her chest, pointing to her Hugtime necklace.
Willow frowned when Floyd didn’t smile at her back. She sighed softly then got an idea “Floyd, I need to ask you to do something, it’s a really important job you understand?” She tilted her head and pointed at Floyd with a stern finger.
He nodded. Stepping closer as she gestured to him to do so. “Promise me, that you’ll always take care of your brothers, you’ll always show up when they need you, and you’ll always tell them you love them. Stay understanding and brave, yeah?” She caressed his cheek and then kissed it softly. “One more thing, always be there for Bitty B. Understand?” She hands the egg to Floyd.
Floyd tears up and nods his head. Barry calls her name and Willow stands, giving each of her boys a kiss to their heads then grabbing her bag. She followed her husband out of the pod quickly.
She was determined to find a place to keep her kids safe, and if she couldn’t find one,
She’d make one
Present day:
Queen Poppy was having an annual troll reunion party, where every troll from every tribe came together and had a big party! Poppy was absolutely thrilled about it. Shaking Branch violently in her pod as she let satin and chenille pick her dress for the celebration.
“The first Annual Troll reunion! Oh this is the biggest party I’ve ever planned for. I'm so excited I could explode!” She squealed, pulling Branch in for a bunch of butterfly kisses.
Branch laughed and waved a hand at Poppy “Woah, woah, yeah this is big, but have we figured out a guest list? What if someone walks in and they’re someone we’ve never even met?” He placed a loving hand on Poppy’s shoulder. Poppy grinned wider
“The more the merrier!” She exclaimed as she fixed her crown in her head. Stepping behind the screen to change into Satin’s pick for a dress. She steps back out and the twins instantly shake their heads, pulling out another dress, Chenille’s choice, for her to try on. Poppy takes it and tries it on.
Branch smiled sweetly, her excitement infectious in the situation he can’t help but feel socially paranoid towards. “Poppy, I love you, and I’m really excited for you, but you have to figure out the best way to protect the village when there’s new trolls coming left and right.” He felt Satin putting a bow on his vest, he didn't fight it.
Poppy giggled softly. Walking out in the new dress and twirling as she grinned at her boyfriend. “Then what do you think we should do?” She asked before getting shoved back behind the screen for another dress, their duo pick.
Branch laughed softly, standing straight up. “The simple option is to give everyone scalable cards that say their name, so we can prove they are who they say they are.” He smirked, crossing his arms, waiting for her response.
When Poppy walks out in her new dress, it matches her crown perfectly, Satin lets out a loud squeal, while Chenille simply claps and jumps up and down. Branch’s eyes soften as he sees Poppy in a big pink, yellow, and orange dress that perfectly resembles her personality, firey, but absolutely beautiful to be around.
Poppy walked up to him. Placing a hand on his cheek. “Branch I love that Idea, but I don’t want to scare off potential friends, and besdies if anyone sees anything suspicious they’ll alert you immediately. Now I need to finish getting ready, I love you!.” She kisses his cheek but he’s suddenly pushed out by Chenille, as Satin begins on Poppy’s hair.
He laughed softly, walking away from the pod and making his way to his Bunker. As he walked he heard other Trolls discussing how excited they were, he smiled feeling a warmth spread through his heart. Pride? Love? Either way it reminded him of how much he looked up to her.
While on the way he caught sight of Floyd being absolutely babied by Holly, a country troll, he chuckled at the sight watching her trying to do his hair in any other way possible. Then he saw his other brother, Clay, with Viva. They were talking about the evening, when Viva spotted Branch she waved, prompting Clay to do so as well.
Branch waved back and looked at the ground thoughtfully, a natural smile forming on his face. He placed a hand on his cheek. Sighing softly. He couldn’t believe the progress he’d made since he and Poppy stopped the Bergens together. He was happy; Really happy, and nothing was going to get in his way now.
He thought so, until he ran into a tree. “Oof! Ow…where’d this tree come from?” He stepped back, looking the stump up and down, he gasped when the tree turned around and faced him. “AAAAAAGH” he yelled, the tree began panicking and sprinting away. He flung his hair toward the small tree. Wrapping around it, and finding out it wasn’t a tree at all, but a troll in a tree costume. “Who are you! Why are you in a tree costume, you’re not good at disguises.”
The troll mumbled. “Sparky said the tree costume would work.” He slowly turned to Branch. “Well, this is awkward, but I was looking for a troll named Johnny…no that wasn’t his name it was John Dory! Yeah! Him!” He shot up from his place on the dirt Evan as Branch still had him tangled in his hair.
Branch shook his head. “John Dory, what do you want with my brother?!” He threatened him by squeezing him in his hair. The opposite troll yelped softly. Followed by a groan.
“Why do I have to explain myself to you?” Branch didn’t have a second to respond before he was being thrown to the ground with his own hair. The tree troll laughed triumphantly. “Hah! You’re strong for a Troll who’s so demanding.” He pulled the tree costume off, his blue hair fluffing up and him fixing his leaf adorned pants
Branch grumbled as he stood up. Patting himself off. “Who are you, and why do you want to talk to John?”
“Well now that you ask, it makes me feel like I’ve gotten wrinkly, he had my face! I mean come on!” The man laughed. He stepped forward to be better seen in the light, Branch’s judgmental confusion made him shake his head, placing his hands on his hips “aren’t you a ball of sunshine, I’m Barry! short for Barberry? his dad! Obviously!”
Branch’s world stopped, it was then he realized there were so many eyes on him and the troll. He grabbed his hands, pulling him off to the side. “What do you mean by his dad?” Branch asked with his head against his.
“Uh…his…papa? His padre? What else could I mean?” He snorted softly. Pushing Branch’s shoulders away from him
“You…prove it.” He looked up and around, wondering if it was not worth the fight.
“What? How do I prove that I’m the DNA of another- ugh fine,” Barry reached into his pocket and handed out a small Polaroid picture. In it was him with a much younger troll beside him, holding a big fish by his head. “He was really young when he caught his first.” He grinned at it, as if it were a distant memory.
Branch took it from him, taking a closer look to be sure. “Wait…that’s…where have you been?” His voice lowers and his eyebrows furrow. He stepped back crossing his arms as he turned away,
“What? What do you mean?” Barry asked before snorting softly. Branch cringed at him, he does look a lot like John. Which does not help with Branch’s accumulating anger.
Meanwhile, Poppy walked up to Viva, running her fingers through her styled hair. “Hey, have you seen Branch? Viva’s eyes sparkled at Poppy’s dress “1: you look incredible! I love everything about it! 2: He grabbed some random guy and took him into that bush over there.” She said pointing toward the Bush Branch was in. She walked up to the bush slowly. Hoping he was okay.
Branch throws his hand in the air. “John Dory is my older brother.” Barry stared for a moment, before circling him. Then stopping he reared up slightly wrapping his arms around his shoulders.
Poppy pushed open the bush and Barry lifted Branch into the air. “I’m your dad!” Branch yelled out struggling to get out of his grasp.
Poppy gasped, punching Barry with her hair. Causing him to fly away and hit a tree. She rushed to Branch and hugged him. “Are you okay? Are you injured at all.did he say he was your dad?” She deflated slightly at the realization. Branch nodded, looking at his defeated father.
“Yeah, but it’s no harm done. We have to get John Dory, he has some explaining to do.” Branch said, walking up to his dad’s body. “So does he.” He said glaring down at Barry crossing his arms,
A/N: I wrote this on a whim one evening because I can, and now this is taking my life. I'll most likely also post this on wattpad or ao3. But I really wanted to test the waters and see what I could do with this. Follow me for more! I don't wanna do a tag list lmao
The Fleek Family
Tumblr media
Floyd please to stop crying for two seconds you're ruining the updated family portrait-
FLEEK FAMILYYY!! Don't worry Floyd's only crying cuz he's not ready for both his babies to be grown up he wants them to stay babies forever!
When Floyd and Creek were down in the Depths, the two didn't think they were ever getting out. So when their relationship progressed rather quickly, and lived briefly with the Original Trolls, the two actually eloped! So when they DID find a way out, Floyd not only had to reintroduce Creek to Troll society, but had to introduce him as his newly-minted husband! Yeah that was rough day lol
Floyd and Creek were actually the first of the fam (aside Bruce) to start having kids. When Floyd found out he was carrying an egg, the two were over the moon about it, but scared as well. With Floyd's weakened physical state, his hair couldn't wrap around the egg properly, requiring him to manually incubate it, along with Creek's help. Rosebud did hatch a bit prematurely, but with lots of care, she grew up to be strong and healthy.
Now Snowdrop is where things get interesting. When Rosebud was eight years old, she found a small, white egg abandoned out in the woods after a huge snowstorm. When she brought it into the house, Floyd and Creek immediately raced it to a hospital. The egg was weak and cold, and the doctors told them outright itd be lucky to survive. But Floyd and Creek were stubborn, and did EVERYTHING they could to save it. And it worked! The egg hatches, revealing a solid white, Original Troll. They're not sure how an original egg made it to the surface, but they scooped them up anyway and raised them as their own, naming them Snowdrop.
In present day, the whole family still lives together out on the outskirts of Trollstopia, in the more rural areas of the city on a large ranch (think stardew valley). Floyd is a motherhen from hell who's constantly doting on his babies, making sure they dress warmly when they leave, asking if they ate breakfast that morning, fussing whenever they come home with any injury whatsoever (Which is mainly Rosebud cuz she's out there fighting criminals lol), while Creek just laughs in the background. He'd say something but he knows his kids love the attention and worrying keeps Floyd happy so he just let's it happen
And that's the Fleek fam!! I'll be posting a new OC tomorrow, who's not an only child, her siblings will only be seen in the family portrait~
