so i was just re-reading my reference sheet for Miraculous Ladybug AU's when i found this bit that i'm absolutely in love with. for some context, i was explaining the various nicknames characters have for each other and how they came about. also, please note that this is an AU where Stoneheart took place on the first day of their second year of lycee. Also note, in this AU, Ladybug goes by Coccinette.

Adrien's Nicknames for Marinette and Ladybug:

—Ma Cherinette (as in "my dear [cherie] Marinette" after Nino's short film, where Adrien makes an inside joke of pretending to act like their old roles but with their own names) [Adrien to Marinette]

"Agent Dupain-Cheng! Ah, how I've missed you, ma Cherinette!" Adrien swooned, draping one arm around Marinette's shoulders while the other clutched at his chest. He could feel her tense momentarily and hunch into herself before drawing on the confidence that made her a worthy Madame President when M. D'Argencourt got akumatized, and worthy Buginette when Coccinette was out of town and Marinette had to face Evillustrator herself.

Her spine straightened as she rose to her full height under the weight of Adrien leaning against her, and as every time before that they had done this little bit of improv, his admiration for his friend resurged with vigor.

"Oh, Officer Agreste, mon cœur, I have burned every second we've been apart. The next mission, won't you ask me to stay?" She turned to him, causing his arm to slip from her shoulders until his hand caught on her hip. She grab his hand from his chest and held it delicately between her own before turning her face upward so he could meet her eyes.

Her eyes… They were shining so blue, so filled with love and heartache, that Adrien himself began to feel an ache in his chest, as if he had just learned to breathe and had only ever been suffocating before.

"You know I'd follow you anywhere, if only you'd ask. Even if you wish to wander only in this little town." She closed her eyes, and the spell should have been broken, but still he found himself captivated as she pressed her cheek against his knuckles, as if they were his lips giving her tender kisses. Her words burned him deeply, echoing with his own sentiments towards a girl, and surely it must be the girl in front of him that he is so attached to, for surely no other could set his chest ablaze with as much ferocity as she.

He exhaled softly, and thought that he must be blowing smoke into her hair as the blaze burned higher. "Cherie… you are a brilliant phoenix, and I would never think to cage you at my side. You set my heart on fire, and the embers burn even when we are apart. Let us feed the flames now, so that when you must fly, I will still feel your warmth."

His hand, which had been gripping bruises into her hip, rose to the back of her head. He pulled her forward until her forehead came to rest on his collarbone, and he buried his nose in her hair, thoughts only on how his knuckles pressed into the supple flesh of her cheek, how his fingers dug into the base of her hairline, how his lips brushed her scalp, and how certainly she would remember him, if only by the watercolor marks on her hip.

It was only after several minutes that he seemed to remember that he wasn't some detective who finally returned to his distant lover when he heard giggling and the shutter-click of a smartphone camera. It was several extended seconds more when he finally brought himself to raise his head, dreading to break the scene and have Marinette leave his arms. Alya met his eyes over black hair, a sly grin on her face while she waved her phone screen from only a meter away.

He couldn't stop the glare as he reluctantly pulled away.

“Oh, drop the look, ‘mon coeur,’ you know Nino would never forgive either of us if someone didn’t get this on camera for him to use later,” Alya snorted, stepping towards the pair.

Adrien simply huffed in reply, finally letting his arms drop. His skin immediately began to feel too hot without Marinette’s soothing coolness to sap the extra heat. He noticed, with no small amount of smug, that Marinette shivered, and goosebumps raised on the back of her arms once his heat no longer blanketed her. Even better, it took her several more moments to pull his hand from her cheek, and even more after that to actually drop his hand. Once her grip relaxed, he allowed himself to squeeze her fingers before finally letting go.

All the while, Alya continued to watch, thankfully not recording this time. These soft moments with Marinette, where he allowed himself to dip into his bursting stores of love and get a little out of his system, he wanted to keep only for himself and Marinette. He wanted to keep Marinette’s soft moments only for himself. He wanted no one else to get to see how Marinette acts when indulging in affection, however unrealistic that possessive want may be; after all, Marinette was full of affection and gave it freely.

But this affection?

These embraces, these kisses of the knuckles against her cheek like a cat, this “burning” devotion (however pretend), this affection which Marinette only seemed to give to him? He wanted it all. He didn’t want to see Marinette get a partner and give these affections to them. He didn’t want others to leech off of these affections with their seeing and their hearing when they indulged in these morning rituals. He wanted it to be only Marinette’s and his, he wanted them to be done for him alone, for the rest of time.

My Re-Verse Delinquency Reasons:

Marinette: In the Re-Verse, Marinettes parents are really bad. They care about her, when they remember that she exists. Which is like, once a month. They didn’t even notice when she dyed her hair! As Shadybug, she’s able to get the attention that she desperately needs. Also incredibly touchy feely with Adrien/Claw Noir.

Adrien: Instead of Gabriel being Neglectful, He’s a Helicopter Parent. There is not a single blind spot for the Agreste Mansion Security Cameras, all of Adrien’s Clothes have multiple tracking chips, and when Gabe finally lets him go to school, the phone has a tracking app too. Adrien is still a model here, but he actually enjoys it because Gabriel doesn’t force him to do shit he doesn’t want. (Adrien only Model’s the punk clothes) As Claw Noir, he gets to run around and be able to do what he wants without his father knowing about it. (Gabriel is panicking whenever he is Claw Noir. He doesn’t want to lose Adrien, he already lost Emilie!)

They try not to murder ppl, especially after that time Claw Noir accidentally Cataclysmed someone. Shadybug Miraculous Cure’d, but Claw was so Shell Shocked it led to their personal identity refeal. They do shit like ‘borrowing’ pastries, appropriating Sabrina’s property, Vandalizing Agreste posters, etc.

I know they're also re-versed but rip to Tom and Sabine they suck lmao

Future meeting

(Futures AU: Seventeen years ago the miraculous were retired. That was until the thought destroyed Butterfly returns. A story within this canon that I wrote while falling asleep lmao)

It had been seventeen years since he last transformed but some things never changed. Marinette still snored in their bed, the face of Parisian fashion stretching her arms out in a lion-like yawn. She sprawled out across the mattress, the duvet twisted to the side and a half finished sewing project lying across her stomach. Adrien debated moving her before deciding against it, instead tidying away the needles and fabric and laying the duvet across her body. Eventually she’d get too warm, wake up, and more to her side of the bed again. Until then Adrien made the rounds, checking the doors were locked, blinds drawn and lights off.

It had become common procedure since the return of akumas. The new heroes were alright, he even saw some of himself in them. Whether Kitty Bells and Crimsonbird were dating was always a subject of hot debate. He’d installed new window locks a few months ago but he couldn’t help the useless feeling that bubbled up in his chest whenever an akuma attacked. It was his fault Paris was no longer safe, his negligence that led to two more young kids taking on the impossible job of saving the world. He tried not to dwell on it, moving down the corridor to his kids' rooms. 

Hugo and Louis slept soundly, Adrien picking up the toys they forgot to clean up and putting them away. Marinette scolded him when he did that, ‘they’d never learn’ if he always tidied it for them. He couldn’t see how it would hurt. They were good kids, nothing but glowing reviews from school about how generous, caring and vocal they were. (Took after their mother).

Emma's room was next, a stream of slightly muffled music coming from inside. Awake writing again probably. He let her be, knowing how she hated to be disturbed when in the zone. She was focused, like him. 

Adrien reached the end of the hall, descending the stairs and entering the kitchen. The sound of something small moving around set him on edge. They’d had mice last year and it had been torture getting them to leave. No one in the family wanted to kill them. It had been a relief when there had been no signs of them for months.

He moved silently to the switch on the wall, flicking it on and searching for the mouse. 

Instead he saw Plagg eating Emma’s school cheese. Plagg finished it off in one big gulp as the lights switched on and their eyes met. The pair could only share dumb silence for several moments before Adrien pointed at him and yelled.

“Plagg?”

“Adrien! Hi!”

“What are you doing here? Is-.”

“No! The boss is just super forgetful and forgot my dinner. I knew you were in the area and you wouldn’t mind so I thought I’d borrow some cheese. Random coincidence really.”

Adrien approached slowly, blinking a few times to make sure he wasn’t imagining it. Plagg, his old kwami in the flesh. 

“It's so good to see you.” Tears welled in his eyes and he stumbled toward Plagg. He’d missed the little terror whispering in his ears. 

Plagg softened for a moment, drifting toward him but then snapping away. “I have to go. You were never supposed to see me again.”

“Can’t you stay. Even for a second more. For old times sake.”

“I really can’t-.” 

“I have Camembert!”

Plagg turned back, his eyes glowing with interest. “Where?”

Adrien smiled, walking past him and crouching down at a locked cabinet. “When Emma started asking for cheese I began storing extra. I almost thought- but that's ridiculous. She doesn’t know about this.” He opened the cabinet door revealing several rolls of expensive smelly cheese. Plagg’s tiny mouth watered as Adrien pulled out a roll and placed it onto the counter above. He made sure Plagg saw the rest, so he might be tempted to return. 

“I guess I can stay. For the cheese only.”

“Right.” Adrien laughed lightly. He had a feeling Plagg missed him just as badly as he did.

Plagg drifted back upstairs after a long and filling meal. Emma hardly noticed him returning, only glancing back after a second.

“Oh, hi Plagg. Where were you?”

He couldn’t say talking with her dad. He’d nearly exposed her identity because he was hungry. Instead he thought of a clever lie.

“Swimming.”

Emma frowned. “Swimming? Can kwami’s even do that?”

“Yes.”

He waited for her to call him on his lie. Adrien would know immediately. Her lips twitched downward for just one second but nothing came of it, turning back to her writing. 

“Cool. Don’t lie on my bed if you are wet.”

I have a lot of questions but this are the more important to me

1- Does Gabriel in your AU cares about Adrien or he is gonna be this cold and cruel parent towards him?

2-The Butterfly/Moth miraculous power, how it will work? Does it have a limit?

3-The power of the Peacock is still the same? (in my versión I give it the power to let blind anyone who look directly to the feathers, and the sentimonster thing is kinda now part of the Ladybug, cuz, you know, creation)

4-Adrien is a sentimonster in your AU?

5-Master Fu is in this AU?

1. Gabriel is still going to be a strict father, a bit distant and cold, but he has a soft spot for Adrien. After all, all those additional activities are for his future, for him to not depend on his father's reputation alone and build one for himself. To add to that, his son takes up appearances after his passed wife, how could he ever hate him when he cares about his wife so much?

2. The Butterfly Wonder's powers are nearly the same since I just fixed a few things about the logistics. First of all, It's worth noting the first big change: the akumas are only the carriers - the source of the power comes from the wonder itself. The Butterfly user can share his power with 5 people at once, each person weakening him as that power is borrowed to fuel the other person. The Butterfly Wonder can go beyond just 5 people, but It only has enough power for five and this is where things can get a little disturbing. If the user pushes themselves to akumatize more than 5 people, the artifact will be forced to acquire that power itself - oftentimes by draining the person using of their energy, stamina, life and all the other things. The detransformation countdown begins after the last person akumatized "disconnects" from the Wonder user. A few other things I feel I need to note is that the object of akumatization has to be alive and sentient (In order to avoid situations like Robostus). Additionally, being blinded by emotion, any emotion (both negative and positive) can help bring their form to their full potential, which is why Monarch is using people only in a state of overwhelming anger, sadness or overall negativity.

3. The power sounds so cool! I made it so that the user can trick anyone looking at them into thinking they're not there or that they're in a different position. It's kind of like an illusion, but only for the user themselves and person they might be holding. I'd like to say It's "concealment", but I'll have to find a better name for it lol

4. Nope. And with what's going on in season 5, I say good riddance

5. He is! However, I did definitely change his character and backstory a bit AND the way the first meeting goes as well. I think It's important to note that both Jiayi and Adrien find him on their own and BOTH stay in contact with Master instead of Ladybug being the only hero allowed to talk to him.

This time, I won't say watch out for spoilers because my feed is literally filled with spoilers reblogged LOL XD 😅

So, some things on my mind after watching the ep.

1) Why is Monarch literally the worst ever dressed villain I've ever seen? Like Gabriel is a top designer so why???

2) The look on Mari and Chat's face when Andre revealed who they 'loved' before. The L word was in quotes because while we totally ship all of the love square, I think Alya is right. Mari is deflecting. When Chat asked her to go on a moonlight thing, her eyeballs were emphasized moving sideways before the screen showed her nodding.

3) That look on Ladybug's face when she came to Chat, and asked his partner outright 'So you're in love with Marinette Dupein-Cheng?' 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

I think Mari is still in love with Adrien. And Adrien is now in love with Mari. And Mari, our girl whose feelings are all over the place (ie. appreciation and trust on her partner who stands by her against all, her failure of losing the miraculous, her belief that her feelings for Adrien are to blame, etc. etc.) now thinks Chat is the one she could love only to realize she couldn't do that as well. Meanwhile, Chat has accepted that him being loved by LB is impossible so he's moved on, no longer blinded by first love.

4) Adrien is totally adorable in this ep.

5) The kisses they shared like oh my gosh 💘

6) Adrien knowing Mari loved her when she claims to have moved on

7) Chat making time to save Mari's parents midbattle ❤

8) Alya being an epic heroine even in sleepwear LMAO like can we just talk about how cool this girl is? 💯

9) Mari asking if she could be loved by someone - which just breaks my heart btw. Then Tikki kissed her on the cheek. Same thing Tikki did when she realized her holder fell in love with Adrien Agreste under the rain and outside the school (in the Origins ep)

10) Plagg being the one who gave Adrien hope that Mari could fall in love with him again through a cheese metaphor.

11) I'm worried that Gabriel knowing Chat has feelings for Mari would make him discover Chat is Adrien now that Adrien is making it obvious he's in love. Even Nathalie knows.

12) For a supposedly children's show that lasts less than 30min per ep, I am so hyped up on this drama lol.

Thank you to the writers, artists, creators and all of those who helped make ML, especially this season. We are loving S5!! Totally worth the wait.

what are your thoughts on the sentimonster theories right now? their all over my dash 😭

y'know it's been a thing for a while now and at first I was like. kind of outright against it as I felt it would just be some weird twist seemingly for no reason and while I do still feel that way a bit I've warmed up to the idea a bit more after however long since it started getting floated

so ig I'm pretty torn on it as on one hand I find the wrinkle it'd add to things possibly interesting especially with it possibly going even deeper than just Adrien to the likes of Felix and even like every rich person's kid being a sentimonster (for. whatever reason) to the point where u can kinda see some of it laced in already from Amelie's husband noticeably absent and presumably Tomoe's blindness, Audrey's marriage? ig? tho even if it's just Adrien and as bittersweet as it would surely be for him to discover and such I feel it could still have a huge impact on a much deeper level than just being a twist. it sorta kinda dips into some of my patented Kingdom Hearts Bullshit in that it reminds me of nobodies and replicas and how Xion or Roxas are no less their own people just bc they're not "actual" people - they have hearts all the same

and with that in mind it could really mean something for a show like this, aimed at the wide and all encompassing audience it's aimed at nowadays, to say so firmly that Adrien being a senti doesn't diminish him - to say that Adrien is no less Adrien regardless of if he's made of feathers or flesh - could honestly mean a ton to all kinds of people - to me! - and I think there's something very sweet in that that could speak to the bulk of the audience with a genuinely positive message that deals with acceptance of self, how to love urself in spite of everything else

on the other tho I admittedly have very little faith in it being handled well enough even if it's just Adrien if only bc of the stuff I've picked up about the behind the scenes happenings with the show and how such a thing would likely get interfered with real hard and either botched in the long run or outright nixed as a whole despite the odds and ends presented in the show meaning that there might be just...........no closure coming to any of that lmao. it definitely feels like the complex sort of storytelling that executives frown upon as it might hurt the bottom line

it's kind of a deeper twist than the show has shown before and like I respect that and wanna see where it would go if true but again there's a real high chance that like other elements/characters/etc. it just gets outright ignored or dropped midway thru and everything that might have built to it would be largely for nothing and basically ig I don't trust the ppl behind the show enough at this point to think they'll handle it well - or at least as well as it deserves - if it's even allowed to come to fruition. there's a lot about this that could speak to people on different levels and I just don't know if they know what they have on their hands enough to really come thru with it without some goofball catch attached

that leads into one of my fears if it is true and is acted on in the show as I imagine Adrien is gonna get poofed at some point and that the wish is gonna be used to bring him back and that he'll be brought back as "real" - which is the simplest possible way of taking things that would also trample all over any such deeper meanings while presumably not being satisfying and while I want to hope they'll avoid such a blatant pitfall I also wonder if such a story might not be the compromise from some upper level airheads allowing it to stay in. while I hate to say I'm expecting such a scenario it's kinda hard not to envision it given some of the other questionable choices made throughout the show that were likely brought on by management conflicts

basically I'm still a bit split on it bc while I genuinely don't know if it'll be allowed to flourish and be told the way it deserves, I think it could add to the show and mean a hell of a lot to a lot of different people if it's able to be executed largely intact and without interference

Optigami Review + A big rant on Cat noir in season 4

Alright, I haven't been really active on Tumblr lately mainly because of school and all the work I've been receiving, but this is the one time I can post so just bear with me lmao.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

Optigami Review:

Honestly love Ladybee, her transformation did look a bit rough, but her suit looks stunning. Too bad Cat noir didn't get to see it.

Kind of lost as to why there's only Luka, Kagami, Max, Chloe, and the other miraculous holders that Shadowmoth knew the identities of, did Gabriel just ask Adrien those specific people, and Adrien just, did not find anything suspicious about that?

Did Adrien just not question as to why Kaalki, the kwami of teleportation, was there with Rena Rouge?? And why Kaalki even teleported him somewhere so far to the Montparnasse Tower even though he's literally Cat noir and needed to fight??

Why were the kwamis magically able to be heard on the phone?? I thought they weren't able to be seen in technology, the phone is technology... So why were they heard??

Now for Alya. Honestly, she did seem a bit suspicious earlier because she wanted to be a permanent holder even though it's not the wisest decision and then completely acted like everything was fine after saying "It's your choice tho" and then immediately got to be a permanent miraculous holder... Seems like she wanted to cover her plans up by seeming sincere and then got her chance. Foreshadowing? Even if I love Alya in general, I do love some betrayal plot twist stories.

Mari is not making the right decision because, it will be okay for a moment, but Shadowmoth literally knows who Rena Rouge is. And at the end of the episode, we see him wanting to get to know Alya better. Alya is going to be in danger. This is going to affect Ladynoir. I mean, yea, I want angst but still.

Overall, I rate this episode a 7.5/10. It was impactful, we got to see Cat noir upset about not being needed, but there were also some questionable things in this episode like I mentioned previously. Other than that it was a decent episode and for once I liked Shadowmoths plan tbh.

So there's been a ton of people talking about "Cat noir is being replaced by Rena Rouge!" and all that... I just have one question, why? Why are you so upset over the fact that Rena was here for like, what, two episodes? And then saying she's replacing him? It's as if you're living in Cat noirs mind lmao. I swear I saw at least 12 videos in the span of two days after the release of Optigami saying how upset Cat noir is and how they're bashing Rena for it as if it's entirely her fault for getting to be a permanent miraculous holder and about to be replaced as the next Guardian of the miraculous box. Look, if you despise any girl that's getting more screentime over a DEUTERAGONIST, just say you're misogynistic and go. I don't mean to sound controversial, but what's up with you hating and bashing on girls that "Get in the way" of something that you cherish and baby (Ex. 'Kagami gets in the way of adrienette, Rena is replacing Cat noir, Vesperia is a replacement of Chloe and gets in the way of Ladynoir' who, may I remind you, is a racist rich girl and Cat can like anyone he wants so shut it)

Now back to the main subject, yes, you can be upset over what's happening to Cat noir, but that doesn't give you the right to completely bash the girls who have nothing to do with hurting him unintentionally (BTW, Ladybug is the one who is hurting him by not telling him anything, still doesn't mean you should hate on her, you can talk about it but bullying her over- dramatic; this is a kid show for god's sake). I am upset about Cat noir, but it's clear that the writers are planning something with him, as I will talk more about in the rest of this post.

There have been tons of foreshadowing in the past episodes about Adrien/Cat noir, so let me talk about it.

I'll start with Truth. In Truth, Cat noir gets hit by the spell, and Ladybug asks him his opinion on her role as Guardian of the Miraculous Box. He then says "If it doesn't change things between you and me, then I'm good with it!". But things are changing, and he's clearly not okay, this was some good foreshadowing I did not notice earlier lmao. This was a good part on the writers job.

In Mr. Pigeon 72, the end card is quite interesting. Practically all the photos of Adrien in this end card are of him wearing his blue scarf. When it wasn't even mentioned in this episode. Even if it wasn't said, it actually is still there. In Bubbler, when Adrien arrives to school, Nino says "Wow dude, guess adults can really change!" This line is effective to Adrien. The moment he got the scarf and apparently it was from his father, he was so happy. From the scarf, he thinks his father can change. He thinks his father is just demanding and over protective. He thinks his father just "Doesn't know how to show his love for his son" Even though, us, the audience, knows thats not true. Adrien is not blind. From the scarf, that's what's making Adrien keep on thinking his father isn't bad. And in Mr. Pigeon 72, he literally tells Marinette the moment he wants to walk with her in the rain and then sees the gorilla, "I can't, you know my father, he's demanding." Even though that's not the case. So why was it included in the end card? Foreshadowing that there will be a scarf reveal. Foreshadowing that Adrien will find out the truth. Even if the truth isn't always great.

Now for Solecrusher. I picked this scene because, I find it really upsetting. When Zoe was opening up to everyone talking about how she made different roles to please Chloe, and when Ivan hugs Zoe, Adrien is upset. Why? Because he relates to her. He makes different roles of himself or different personalities, to please everyone. That's why he's upset.

Now for the end card. Here's a little close-up. We see Adrien, Ivan, Juleka, Luka, and Rose. However, Adrien is farther from the others. He stills feels isolated and stuck. While everyone else is happy. He stills feels the need to pretend. Which is making Adrien feel worse.

This isn't specifically about Adrien, but I kind of see a little pattern here. Solecrusher shows Andre is the one who made Solitude. Queen Banana shows a movie being made. What's the next episode? Gabriel Agreste. This episode will probably be all about flashbacks. About the movie Solitude. About Emilie. Showing Gabriel, Emilie, and Adrien younger. I honestly think that Gabriel and Adriens relationship is still as bad, I just think that even if Adrien claims it was better before.

This was honestly the episode I felt the worse for Adrien. He nearly killed himself and Ladybug didn't even talk about it after. Now, I know Ladybug wouldn't know what to say, but she should at least speak up?? I mean that's all I want tbh. The end card seems.. Off. Adrien is not included even though he had a big role in comforting Juleka in the beginning of the episode. Cat noir is shown to be, smiling.. But the smile doesn't even seem genuine. He's still upset. He's still not okay. Foreshadowing that he's feeling even worse than before.

Optigami. Holy this episode. Well I already rated it before but yea. Take a look at his facial expressions. He's upset he wasn't even in the battle (Meaning he wasn't never happy with the fact that he's sometimes not even needed in fights like Style Queen), he's angry, shocked/disappointed, then pretends he's the same old Cat noir with the flirty jokes, but the moment Ladybug leaves with her superhero allies (Still questioning why she even left tho; Shadowmoth knows those identities yet Cat noir doesn't..) And Cat noir is just upset. I couldn't take the exact frame of him alone but I see him looking all moody and sad. He's now pretending to be fine as Cat noir. Which is not getting any better, but more angsty lol.

As I saw all the foreshadowing in this season, the writers seem to be isolating Adrien even more. And after the scarf reveal, I'm pretty sure he's going to pretend to be fine with that too. I feel like a lot is going to happen to him. Maybe even him possibly becoming a.. Villain? What? In Queen Banana, it shows the hero of creation, and the villain of destruction. Could mean something. Other than that, I've been thinking about a lot of angsty fake scenarios of Adrien lately lol.. Back to the subject, the possible breakdown or conflict between Ladynoir would happen in season 4. It's the most logical time.

Hi everyone! I'm Imbri, I made this sideblog earlier this month when I got super into MLB and DCU from a more fanfic-esque perspective and wanted to try my hand at fic writing. I've since been pretty sick and I'm only just getting better, so I wanted to throw some possible story arcs and headcanons on here so I could preserve them somewhere and hold myself accountable for writing them. If this gets long I'll make separate posts but for now enjoy my tired ramblings

1. To All the Vigilantes I've Loves Before (TALTBILB AU)

We're starting with a fluffier one bc I'm in that kind of mood. You know how in To all the boys Lara Jean writes her letters when she has a huge crush? To her, the letters are a way to immortalize that feeling, to preserve it forever. She locks her love away until she wants to acknowledge it again, preserving it and ensuring her feelings are never tainted by the reality of these people. I don't think Marinette would do that. No, Marinette gets too caught up in the rosy side of love, especially when she's younger. She doesn't need a constant reminder of the good things about her crushes, she needs to be reminded of the bad, of the harsh reality of these people. Young Marinette dives in too deep too fast with Adrien, ignores his character in favor of her fantasy, and she never forgets how much it hurt. So in a moment of clarity, when he tells her not to stand up to Lila and abandons her, she writes him a letter. It's not mean, or attacking, and she doesn't intend to send it (she still addresses and stamps it, of course, because she's extra like that, and makes sure not to seal it so she can reread it, but she plans to keep it locked away). It's just an honest reflection on how he's not who she thought he was. How her affection for him was toxic, how she can't go back to being the Marinette who's obsessed with him, but he will always be the first boy she ever loved. Loved, past tense. And she intends to keep it that way.

Luka is the next one to get a letter. She writes his in the middle of the night. She couldn't sleep, had randomly decided to design a new stage outfit for him, and was quite impressed with her work until she found herself coloring his eyes green and his hair blond. She stops herself before she adds black cat ears, but the damage is done. Mari realizes he had always been a distraction for her, that she was trying to use his affection to bounce back from heartache. She rereads her letter to adrien before taking out a clean sheet of paper. Luka's letter is about how she can't hold on to love or the idea of a relationship so as to ignore her feelings and her hurt. She writes about how she was lucky to make new friends when her class turned her back on her, but she was trying too hard to pretend nothing had changed. Luka was filling the void Adrien had left, and marinette knew that she couldn't fall back on her unhealthy habits. She mentions that she still loves Luka, of course she does, but not like that, never like that. The next day, she tells him, in no uncertain terms, that he means a lot to her, really, and she doesn't want to lead him on, but he's honestly just a friend. Luka smiles and hugs her and tells her that's fine, and they remain close.

Chat noir gets his own letter when she starts to see herself with him but he won't stop flirting. She writes that as much as she can get caught up in the daydreams of their superhero power couple, he never wants to give her space or let her figure anything out. When they defeat hawkmoth and she finds out who he is, she pens an short paragraph about how hypocritical it was of him to tell her to back off Lila and let things work themselves out while being so insistent in his relationship with ladybug. She puts all three letters into one envelope and seals it. She knows now she can never love Adrien, that she will never look at him the same. She's learned her lesson, and she wants to leave this chapter in the past.

As Marinette grows up, finishes high school and her Guardian studies, as she gets her business degree, the pile of letters only grows. But Mari has become too hurt, too cautious with her heart. Her letters, once testaments to her growth and maturity, are now filled with excuses. Too scared to let anything develop into more than a basic crush, she pens a letter every time she lets her guard down, every time she feels even a sliver of non-platonic affection for anyone, and stashes it away with the rest of her unresolved feelings.

When she pins Kim down for a second too long during one of their sparring matches, she writes that she cannot jeopardize their friendship. They train together less frequently after that.

When she finds herself laughing too hard at her seatmate's whispered jokes in Intro to Business, she reasons that they're probably a player and sits somewhere else from then on.

On a visit to Paris, she loses herself in Kagami's eyes and her letter is about how stupid it is to even try long distance. So on and so forth, until her letters are nothing but quick notes and her reasons become meaningless.

This post is too long so I'm gonna rush through the next bits I'm sorry. She finally moves to Gotham, opens up a little boutique, and ladybug accepts an invitation to join the League. Soon after, she meets the Robins (it's hard not to come in contact when everyone enjoys jumping off the same rooftops in the dead of night), and she has a new, albeit secondary, team/family (because of course they know each other's identities).

At this point, Marinette has over twenty letters, all wrapped in twine and stuffed into a small box she keeps at the back of her closet. Her kwami try to push her to date again, insist this terrible habit needs to be broken, but she insists she's fine alone. Most are okay with this, but Plagg and Trixx? Not so much. One day, while she's down in her Atelier in the middle of a fitting, they rifle through the box, pick out a single letter, and convince kaalki to (begrudgingly) open up a portal straight into someone's PO Box (p sure Plagg used cataclysm by himself once so it's possible. If not let's ignore that and pretend it is lmao). Tikki is not impressed, but she doesn't do anything to stop them either.

It's three days later when Marinette finds out it's missing, a flirty encounter with red hood sending her rifling through her stash for Jason Todd's name. She needs to remind herself that he's too much of a bad boy, too flirty, too dark, that she’s too close to the bats to ruin it with feelings. She decides she misplaced it until Jason stops by her flat two days later, letter in hand.

Now, Jason technically comes over to confront Marinette, but he’s not sure about what, exactly. she seemed to have liked him at some point, but was convinced it wouldn’t work out. Part of him wants to prove her wrong, part of him is wondering why she’s so mistrusting to have written him off so soon. Marinette, upon seeing her letter, panics, but she ends up having to explain everything. Jason isn’t sure if he should be more concerned that literal gods have decided to take her relationship into their own tiny hands or that she’s so scared of loving she’s got this stash of letters about nearly everyone in her life. Eventually he convinces her to pull them out, and Jason is so shocked by the sheer number of them that he almost wants to wrap her in his arms and show her that love isn’t all bad. Instead, he slips and offers to help set her up on dates, and before they know it they have a contract: he’ll plan a new blind date for her, with anyone from one of the open letters, every two weeks. She promises to go in open-minded and do her best to actually make it work. In exchange, he’ll model for her newest line (something she’s been begging him to do for ages). When she says the contract is all in her favor, he throws in that she can be his date to the Wayne Christmas Party at the end of the year. They shake on it, and the pieces begin to fall into place.

Cue six months of a heavily pining Jason setting Marinette up on dates she progressively wants to go on less and less. Cue them meeting for fittings and clothe designs in Marinette’s atelier and grabbing coffee together. Marinette starts to open up to the possibility of love, but with Jason, who’s obviously not interested or else why would he still be setting her up on dates? it’s all incredibly messy and complicated and a little angsty but just a ton of fun.

Idk I feel like this idea low-key sucks now that I’ve written it out so uhhh let me know what you guys think? I have other ideas but I’m gonna put them into other posts bc this is too long as is.

And thirdly, that would explain her rather territorial and possessive vibe when it comes it adrien.

I mean, for Gods sake. In desperada she comes over to lukas clutching and hanging on adriens arm as if theyre dating....when they arent....

Look if you like kagami, thats cool! Glad to hear that there are people out there willing to give her a second chance. I for one, am just not so ready to jump on the kagami fan-wagon quite yet.

I dont hate her and I hope one day, I am able to like her character. Because as of late, she for sure has gotten better. I just hope it continues that way despite her getting akumatized again in season 4.

If she ends up being just a jealous and bitter antagonist in the show after all that redemption since her shitty introduction to the show, Im gonna be pretty pissed. SHE DESERVES BETTER, HER AND LUKA.

But until shes no longer a love rival/love triangle tool...

Don’t you know? Every villain evidently has a sad sob backstory that relates to parents in some shape or form. I bet even Gabriel will have a sob backstory related to his parents too. 

And yeah, parents can play a big part in how kids come out, but, we’re getting so much of it, its hard to really care anymore. 

Adrien its hard for me to care anymore. That’s become a lot of his character, “I love LB and want to be with her and sad about my distant dad”. We know this. We’ve known this since s1, where’s the change? Jackady and Volpina we got to see Adrien being a little spiteful with his father and that was great. He has a right to be upset with Gabriel, to make his frustrations known, and by s2 should’ve been expressing that more. It doesn’t have to change much of anything, but Adrien shouldn’t be so complacent with his father and willing to do whatever Gabriel wants. I really miss s1 Adrien in this regards… 

Chloe didn’t need the sad parent backstory. It can be there, she can miss her mom and want to impress her mom; but don’t have her mom be the reason Chloe came out like she did. This can play off the factor that her father’s been the mayor since Chloe has been born. By the start of Darkblade, he would’ve been mayor for 18 years, and Chloe is 13-15 years old. Her father has been mayor a few years before she’s been born; her spoiling father has been in power since she’s been born and that was enough to explain how Chloe turned out. She didn’t need sad sob parent backstory, especially  to make us pity her and forgive and forget. That’s not enough, especially when she’s still being mean on purpose. 

And Kagami has one to, and she fits having it more than Chloe. Its a good way for her to connect and relate to Adrien, but there’s enough difference there that they aren’t the exact same. Both have controlling strict parents, but Gabriel’s hardly around and fills Adrien’s schedule up with activities, Tomoe though is always there and has Kagami focus on one activity. This works for both of them and can be aspects of their character, just, hope it doesn’t become a defining trait to who Kagami is like it has become with Adrien. 

And Lila, much like Chloe, doesn’t need sad parents backstory. Not when, from what I hear, she wasn’t really that upset that her mom was busy, and we see her mom love and care about Lila a lot. If Lila wants attention, I can see her mom giving it to her. Maybe they’ll pull a Chloe and its Lila’s dad who she really cares to get the attention of. But its not needed and its hard to pity her at all. Despite Adrien wants to think, Lila isn’t doing this as a way to make friends, she doesn’t care about having actual friends, she made that clear when she threw his offer of friendship back in his face. Her reasons could be as simple as that she likes attention and the control she gets when she lies and manipulates people. If you want something a little deeper, could be that she wanted to make friends at first, but because she moved so much, she couldn’t keep anyone as a friend, and turned to her deceptions to help form a circle of friends, a flock to be apart till she leaves again. And she really enjoyed this. She enjoyed having all the cards, having people eat out of the palm of her hand, having blind devotion and fondness directed at her. They boost her ego and in return she’ll make sure they’re happy by letting them hear what they want to hear. She doesn’t need friendship when she has everyone at her beck and call, when it can be all about her. 

And I just really went off. So yeah, Chloe and Lila, they really don’t need distant/neglectful parent as their backstory to explain their behavior. Even if it did, this does not excuse what they have done. And it never will when they don’t make an effort to improve, when they don’t apologize for all that they have done, especially to the people who deserve this apology most. The factor that the writers are pushing for this is getting really annoying, even more so with an underline message to forgive your bullies that have made you feel terrible and did awful things to you. They made you feel bad because their parents made them feel bad and you should give them a break. 

Gtfo with this. Kagami and Adrien can have this set up, they just don’t need it to become a big defining aspect of their character and left stagnant. Lila and Chloe do not need this, especially as a way to excuse all they’ve done and to be forgiven just like that. It doesn’t work that way, it won’t work that way.

Okay. So, before my actual answer: technically speaking, I’d say I ship both equally, in terms of how much fanart I look at, how many words of fanfic I write, how much I like them, etc. But since this ask game involves picking one over the other…

Gah, I think I have to go with Adrienette/the Love Square. I shipped them first, I’ve shipped them the longest, and their ship has the most canonical development. Plus, they’re literally two halves of a whole–yin and yang, creation and destruction, good luck and misfortune…like, their love is cosmic, y’all. As enjoyable as non-canon pairings are, Adrienette is what really got me into the show, and I’m still watching it to see when they finally get together.

Like, of course you can have the love square dynamic with other ships–actually, you can have a square with any two characters who have an alter ego–but Adrien and Marinette are The Love Square. They’re two blind idiots who are madly in love, and yet somehow, they still can’t manage to get together. In fact, at this rate, I’m pretty sure they’ll be dancing around each other for years, but in a way, that kind of makes their get-together even more satisfying. (And frustrating, lol. But nothing’s perfect.)

And even when I ship them with other people, I can’t completely ignore the bond that they have. To me, they’re soulmates in any universe–not always romantic soulmates, depending on the ship I’m writing/reading, but still soulmates. They’re partners who have been through thick and thin together, and I honestly love that about them. When two characters fight so many hard battles together, it’s hard not to appreciate their bond.

So, yeah, I guess Adrienette. But I honestly love both ships equally and how DARE you ask me to pick my favorite child ship 😂😂😂

Kagadrinette headcanons.

We all know crack ships are a dangerous adventure because sometimes it's really difficult to find works about them. But OT3s?

So I'm gonna show some of my headcanons for Marinette x Adrien x Kagami. How is this ship named? Kagadrinette? Adrinettgami? Maridrigami? LuckySwords? Last one is quite cute, maybe. I'll go for that and Kagadrinette.

Kagami fell for Marinette after they started hanging out. Mari invited her to her squad. At first it was difficult since the only one who liked her besides Marinette was Rose. Alya thought she was mean, Mylène was scared of her, Juleka didn't want her to hurt Rose and Alix didn't really care. They were so wrong! Thanks to Mari's effort they started warming to her. But Kagami kept being close to Marinette.

One day Kagami notices she was jealous. Jelaous of Alya. Why was Marinette still thinking so high of her? She trusted Lila!

Kagami talked to Adrien, her closest friend and crush. He informed her of Lila's situation and all.

Adrien liked Kagami since Frozer, but was always so blinded by Ladybug. The day he discovered Mari was Ladybug he was ashamed. He didn't know Marinette would be his type! Yes, Adrien likes strong, harsh women.

After the reveal (not only them, of all the team), Marinette at first didn't want to talk to the cat, she never considerer not knowing her crush. She realized everything she knew about him was just his reprimed self.

Those days Kagami was there to help her. She was also surprised, but didn't really care because she knew Adrien in a more personal level, she always knew Adrien wasn't that perfect boy (I don't care about what she said in Oni Chan lmao). So she encouraged Marinette to keep searching for the real Adrien, even if Ladybug was Adrien's crush and Kagami knew it.

What nobody expected was that Marinette started liking Kagami. She never thought of herself as bi, so at first she thought it was just strong friendship and devotion. But thinking about Adrien and Kagami confused her sooo much.

One day after an Akuma attack, both Chat Noir and Ryuko noticed Ladybug was evadind them. Yes, she kept leading the team but wasn't strong as always. They chose to talk to her.

Aaaand that's when Ladybug confesed she liked both of them. Even if things were so akward with the cat, she still liked him. And Kagami... oof.

Ryuko coldly said a "me too". Chat Noir blushed sooo hard and nearly vanished. Both. Girls. He. Liked. Liked. Him.

Things started really akward. They didn't know what to do. Marinette was the one who talked about that thing... polyamory? She was so nervous. Adrien thought it was okay, he didn't have all that much contact to the world so he didn't see nothing wrong. But Kagami at first didn't like the idea. That was wrong. Love is between two people! What would her mother think? ... Screw that. It took some work, but finally she wanted to be with them.

It was difficult. At first they started hanging out as a group of friends, sometimes they took each others hands but nothing more. When they came out, ppl were really divided.

Mari's parents never thought of the possibility of a loving triad, but they supported her daughter no matter what.

Gabriel didn't like it. He didn't want Adrien with a girlfriend, so with two?? One day Adrien got really angry and made things clear to him: It was time for his freedom. Gabriel realized he could do nothing about that. At least he liked the girls his son got...

Tomoe never agreed. She was a traditional woman. She thought it was just a silly game, but soon she realized Kagami was serious about it. Tomoe didn't think her daughter was prepared to be in a relationship, and she didn't agree with it not being a couple. It was soooo hard but finally they made an agreement about it.

Surprisingly Kagami is really shy. Marinette is always the one to start physical contact, Adrien is usually flustered but likes ir and Kagami is just a blushing mess.

Marinette's ice cream represents both Adrien and Kagami, she didn't realise it till the day the three went there on a date. Peach represents Kagami's lips, mint represents Adrien's eyes. Same for Adrien; strawberry with chips represents Ladybug's suit and Kagami's civilian attire, blackberry represents Kagami's hair (I like to think it is darker than Mari's) and blueberry represents Mari's eyes. Kagami's ice cream would be something like black chocolate (Chat's suit and Mari's jacket), raspberry (Mari's color scheme) and lemon (Adri's hair).

When they have to patrol around alone, they usually start cuddling. Sometimes Rena catches them and laughs while taking pictures.

Ryuko is very protective about her lovers. She's usually circling above them while Air Dragoning.

Chat likes that his two girls both wear red. He can find them easely.

They work really good as a team. Ladybug isn't the lovey dovey type who would like them to stay away from battle; she feels safer with them around. Chat is always protecting her and Ryuko always takes the offensive for her while she makes the plan.

Ladybug is the brain, Ryuko is the brawns and Chat is the beauty. Everybody agrees.

Adrien and Kagami both try so hard to sneak Mari into the fencing team. Their dates usually end with them doing matches.

Kagami ended threatening Lila. Nobody's gonna do trouble for her Mari.

Their friends are ok with them, nobody really has problems. Sometimes Kim makes silly jokes about them, but they're innocent. They like to double date with Ninalya and sometimes other pairings like Julerose.

Mari and Adrien are more open about their feelings, Kagami is colder. So they usually tickle her to get her to relax. Kagami hates that and they end up silly fighting on the ground. They're so loud.

They like to have sleepovers every two weeks. Tom and Sabine are ok with it, Tomoe at first didn't let Kagami but after agreeing to conditions she lets her. Adrien doesn't want to tell the girls, but he actually shouldn't be there. He escapes.

They like to see movies together. Kagami always goes for horror movies. She doesn't hesitate, she's never scared. But she likes to see Marinette scared, holding her tigh and hugging both of them. Adrien doesn't have time to be scared because he's always laughing. This usually ends up in a silently silly fight on the ground.

When they sleep, Mari is always on the middle. She's a cuddly person, so she wants to be in the center. Adrien's in the right, next to a window usually. He likes to sleep seeing stars (or clouds at least). Kagami's on the left, she doesn't really like light while sleeping. As they are separated by Marinette, Kagami and Adrien try to hold hands to also be together.

When they awake, they are nearly dead because Marinette is a bear. She sleeps in a weird position with her arms and legs threatening Kagami and Adrien's breathing. They both think she's so cute.

Kagami is the first to awake. She's a light sleeper. If she sees light, she can't sleep. Adrien is the second, he always finds the dragon holder awake being bored. Marinette is soooo hard to awake. They start kissing her to not upset her.

Aaaand I think that's enough for this ship! I think it's a really cute ship. Since I am both Adrinette, Adrigami and Marigami shipper, I though this could work.

My review on ‘Stormy Weather 2’:

Despite what other people are saying, I personally absolutely loved this episode, and I honestly don’t have really any complaints. I really really like all the flashbacks, I think it added a cool element to the episode, and it was cool how they changed the episode up in that way.

My feelings for Natalie changed kinda, since we never really saw that sentimental side of her, and also we’ve been knew Natalie is in love in Gabriel.

NOOROO IS A FREAKING SAVAGE OK. I AGREE WITH YOU LITTLE DUDE GABRIEL LISTEN TO HIM.

I LOVED Ladybug’s cat pun, and Chat’s reaction to it sksksjdjs his immediate response to basically anything is that he loves her and that’s adorable.
