Greeniks

Pixel art for today based on videogame Elf for computer system IBM PC MS DOS. It is something interesting walk arcade game. About interesting world. With a beautiful graphics. There are growing trees and little flowers. And such a beautiful sky. And such interesting adventure. How it is a lot of interest to explore such a game worlds with bright graphics and good imagination. As Jazz Jackrabbit, for example. Or this game.

And, this is my pixel art based on. In this world of green is everything good! It is everything ok with your friends. Ant and mole. Little ducking and chicken. Little frog is also ok. But you need to search all the time entering your world greeniks, they are masking as plants. And they eat flowers. They are such a  small and rather intelligence little humans. You need them to drive away. With jumping at them. This is makes them scary. And find a portal. And close it with a key.

Greeniks, when they come into someone’s world to eat flowers. They, in this case, they open a portal little door with a little key. And, throw a key to some place. You need to find this place and take a little key to close a portal. It is like modified variation Lode Runner. Something like that. Labyrinths with stairs. And passages. And some other characters, which are doing something like to disturb you, to find a key.

 Such a world space. And every time a new world. It is a fractal parts. That’s why, there are lots of these worlds, a lot of them, they are endless. And, you are living here with your friends. You need just to drive away greeniks, to prevent them to eat all the flowers and leaves. And prevent them to eat all the green and delicious as grass.

Greeniks are funny and positive - they like to run and to play! Just jump at them. And they get the idea that it is better for them to go into another place!

Lode Runner 3-D

Lode Runner is a long-going puzzle series that still has the odd release now, although most seem to be updated version of the original. The N64 version brought the franchise into 3D, but decided to stay true to its roots and just add an extra dimension to it. It got some middling reviews or doing so, but I think it worked out well.

The basic concept of Lode runner is that there are blocks that temporarily vanish when you shoot them, but you can only fire your gun in a downwards diagonal. You can also only jump down where there are arrows. The objective of each level is to collect gold and reach the end of the level to be transported to the next. Throughout the game, you’ll encounter deadly monks, bombs and special blocks.

It is, however, a little bit too east to mess up and get stuck, having to restart the entire level. This is more of an issue if it happens at the end of a particularly long level. There are also other things to find, such as gems to unlock bonus levels, extra lives and keys to unlock the next world.

I can see where reviewers of the time are coming from – people expect big adventures from high priced games, rather than a nice, simple puzzler. But these kinds of games can get a bit more time to shine now, and this would be a nice digital game now.

Those of you that remember the original Lode Runner will find that, despite the polygon-filled graphical flourishes, this is pretty much the same game that was first seen well over a decade ago. The rest of us, however, may wish to be distracted momentarily by an absorbing little puzzle game that still charms through an intriguing, time-defying premise.

Championship Lode Runner April 17, 1985 // Family Computer

Apparently, this is exactly the same as Lode Runner, just with way harder levels, like impossible for veterans of the series hard. Considering I only played like a dozen or fewer levels of the original game, we aren't gonna touch this one with a ten foot pole.
