~ 'Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House', a very warm Japanese drama, also happens to be a favorite of mine.

When one of my favorite Instagram artists @wiwadd happened to share a drawing of Kiyo and Sumire, I knew I had to print it out and include it in my Lokta journal. 🥰

The glitter quote 'You're going to do great things' is also fitting for Sumire who achieved her dream of being a Maiko. (Equally fitting for Kiyo who beautifully shows us it is we who must define what success means to us) 🌟~

I've had this journal on my shelf for months now, but every time I tried to take pictures of it I just couldn't get the colors to come out properly. But I think I've finally managed to get a pretty accurate photo of this beautiful yellow. This is a unique handmade Lokta paper that I've only ever seen once. Mini Journal #8

HTV on lokta paper works really well, but on cardstock? Eh. It’s fine. Doesn’t look as good but it’s fine. Also, I won’t do htv across the hinge gap again. It caused just enough bulk that when I folded the paper, the paper cracked. One of these days I’m gonna get a laminator and decorate endsheets in foil.

This teal and gold Lokta paper has gotten lots of attention in the past, but unfortunately I only bought a single sheet of it. The original journal I made sold nearly instantly, and I thought I had used all of it. But recently I found a piece just big enough to make this pocket sized journal.

Blank sheets make it perfect for sketching, writing, collage, or imagine a new way to use it. The coptic binding means it lies flat when open too!
