☆☆☆ # general relationship !

days can switch between domestic bliss to overtly interesting dates. tengen always comes up with the initial idea for a date (like dinner or going to a festival) and kyojuro naturally likes to expand on it and plan accordingly. setting up times and places.

tengen loves the sounds of your combined laughter, it melts his heart when he realizes its happening. as the sound hashira it quickly become his favorite.

they're both very spontaneous and heart-led people, sometimes they need a reminder to slow down and think things through. . . and on the other hand its good for you to be dragged along into their antics!

whenever tengen sees you throughout the day he's always gonna give you a kiss or a hug / kyojuro will sort of linger to you, managing to rest his head on your shoulder and/or bury his face in your neck

kyojuro is the person you both kind of look to for support, he's a bit wiser and emotionally inept as a partner. In fact its easy for him to pick up on everyone's off days. the biggest supporter for you both!

speaking of which, these tall boys usually don't bend down to kiss you, they'll scoop you up right off your feet for one

when tengen cooks for you two he likes to do so alone, he's very capable of managing a fiery kitchen alone, you two would just get in the way so "sit down and wait until its done"

always communicating with you, about their schedules/work, just to talk in general or make plans. even with both of them are away at night or on missions

i also feel if you guys were ever cuddled together on a bed or a couch you'd be squished in the middle, back against tengen's broad chest and your legs being rubbed by kyojuro

there both always warm too (maybe too warm)

both tengen and kyojuro are relieved to have each other and you, having such strong partners puts their minds at ease.

tengen doing that thing where he fixes your outfits/appearances if a little thing is out of place.

tengen also brags about you two to anyone who's interested in listening to him / kyojuro's face turning bright red in embarrassment

kyojuro loves surprises! especially small ones like hugs (and it's pretty easy to sneak up on him too since his hearing is kinda shot)

kyojuro is very open about everything. doesn't hide much and tells you both how he feels / tengen keeps to himself a little more, at least the personal stuff (he thinks he can handle it on his own)

jealousy levels: tengen doesn't get too jealous, maybe frustrated is a better word. would definitely just drag you away and keep you to himself for a bit

as for kyojuro, he gets quiet and a little sulky (puts distance between himself and everything else) and would never question either of you of cheating

when you all train together tengen doesn't seem to take it all that seriously (just tries to show off his physique) and kyojuro likes advice on his form

massages for everyone after a hard day

honestly, they respect your decision to join the corps. sure. . . but they'll always worry for you.

the pride they'd feel if/when they witness you pass the final selection or become a hashira unto your own (it's immeasurable)

them just being stunned. absolutely gob-smacked at your abilities

or taking them down in training

overpowering tengen or outmaneuvering kyojuro would probably have their skin burning from the neck up. (its like the feeling of falling in love all over again)

them lowkey betting on which color nichirin blade you'll get

and they wouldn't fight over who would take you as a tsugoku (but then again . . . maybe) even which breathing-style is best for you

of course everythings your say in the end. . . but they're still gonna help

She finally had a name for the monster. He told her that her hand that could close the rifts to the fade was a disastrous mistake. She wasn't anyone special - she was a nobody who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Before she could think her plan through, she cut the rope holding the trebuchet back. The mountains surrounding Haven rumbled, with the snow quickly coming towards them in an avalanche. Corypheus fled and Aelianna soon knew no more, as she was tossed by the avalanche into a chasm that seemed to have no end.

i feel like you would say it as a passing remark; like when he’s leaving your place to go back to the dorms

but even though he says it first, he probably waits until you’re about seven months into the relationship

which could be considered a long time

but jay’s love language is quality time - and i feel like he would be with someone who also has a similar love language

so even though technically you had been dating for seven months, you had only spent enough time together as a normal couple who was dating for maybe four months would

why do i feel like jake would say it on accident on like the third date

i feel like jake is a person who is filled with love but as he grows older, he realizes how careful he has to be with who he gives it to

so when you go out to get food on the third date, jake’s rlly scared

he knows he wants to make things official (i mean come on, you’re so good together!) but also...should he?

and he says as much to you bc he doesn’t want to trap you in a relationship that isn’t real

he wants to give you everything you want - even if that means not seeing you again

but to his relief, you just laugh and shake your head, stealing one of his french fries

yeah, you’re a passionate person and yeah, you said that you’d wait for him until he was ready

you would definitely say it first and you’d have to throw sunghoon off the eiffel tower before he says it back

i feel like he’s kinda like heeseung

where he can feel the love and he can feel safe enough to say it but somehow he can’t

like the words are stuck at the tip of his tongue

sunghoon is a private person, i think

it takes a lot of trust and time for him to open up about even smaller things so getting him to talk abt why he’s so scared of romantic love takes almost a full year

like genuinely, i feel like you would have to be so strong dating him bc you say i love you to him almost every time you see him

and he just doesn’t say it back

sometimes, he just hugs you when you say it to him and other times he just smiles and nods

but i feel like being around a person who doesn’t feel cautious around love and gives it freely to others (like you) would start to melt sunghoon’s heart

bc when you say it, you can see his eyes sparkle a little brighter and that’s when you realize the issue

he thinks you’re saying it out of obligation and not bc you truly mean it

i feel like you and sunoo are just kinda on the same wavelength on a lot of things

whether it be personality, preferences, or the way you see the world

you guys are very similar

so later on, once you guys have been dating for a while

you just kinda start saying it?

like one day, after he sleeps over in your apartment, he wakes up to you cooking breakfast

and he just slowly shuffles over and back-hugs you, making you waddle around the kitchen trying to whip up some pancakes

he’s a very careful person and i feel like he has to reason things out in his head before he says smth

like i don’t think he processes emotion in a “i feel [x] so i will act like [y]” type of way.

it’s more of a “i feel [x]. would it be more appropriate for me to act like [y] or [z]?”

maybe it’s bc he’s the leader of such a big group at such a young age but when you say it to jungwon, i feel like his first instinct is to just diffuse the situation

like how does he accept your love without saying it back, hurting your feelings, but also letting you know that he cares for you too?

and in the end, kinda like sunghoon, i feel like he ends up hesitating for so long that he just ends up hurting even though he wanted to do the exact opposite

it would kinda end up in you and jungwon having to take a short break from each other, which rlly stings bc you just confessed that you loved him

and now you’re not speaking to each other?

but as they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder and jungwon’s left staying up at night trying to figure out how to win you back

he doesn’t want to say i love you just to get you to be with him if he’s not 10000% sure that he wants to say it

idk, i feel like it would make the situation all too real for him

and for someone who hasn’t been handed the opportunity to have too much freedom (which then kinda relates to how cautious he gets to be bc of it)

jungwon kinda just starts malfunctioning

it doesn’t feed into his streamlined process of functioning bc he’s not sure if he’s right or wrong anymore

everything’s so morally ambiguous and he realizes just how much he had been confining himself to his own expectations and burdens

and he shows up at your door, sopping wet from the rain bc he doesn’t realize how freeing it is to exist out of the patterns of what he thought he had to act like

ofc he’s still careful bc he’s still jungwon at the end of the day, but when he’s standing at your door with a stupid, heartbreaking smile, all you can think abt is what he says

you know riki better than he’s willing to admit and the thought that someone who knows so much abt him can still love him is just so frightening to him

but he doesn’t know that’s what it is ofc, so he just ghosts you instead

and then two days later, he asks you to break up.

you agree bc what else can you do while he’s on tour and you have no way of communicating w him besides technology which he’s not responding to

but for the rest of the tour, riki is just out of it. his body is on auto pilot and even the fans start noticing that riki doesn’t seem to be as engaged as usual

and he realizes how much of a mistake he made when he doesn’t see your sweet voice messages and how his instinct whenever he gets good news is to txt you, only to see that you’ve blocked him

he literally doesn’t know how to talk to you and ends up resorting to calling you on jake’s phone

riki is sobbing as he tells you how much he misses you and how could you even stay mad at him when it’s so clear that you can’t be without each other?

Apple White: A Character Study (Chapter 3)

We’re back in business!

I watched Spring Unsprung last night intending to write a separate post about it, but I realized a few minutes in that it wouldn’t make for a good solo post. Apple spends the majority of the special under the topsy-turvy spell, meaning she wasn’t acting of her own free will and can’t really be held responsible for what she did or said (nor can we examine her character). So I’ve decided to combine Spring Unsprung and Way Too Wonderland into one post. That one will be coming soon. For now, please enjoy my write-up of Apple’s character in Chapter 3.

CHAPTER 3

(Side note: why has it taken me until now to realize Raven’s makeup is the best in the show? Suits her perfectly.)

(Side note: if Ashlynn lateness curse is tied to noon, not midnight, how was that ever going to work with her story? Was the ball gonna be a brunch? An afternoon tea party?)

I think it’s interesting (and a good character choice) to have Apple help Ashlynn work around the rules of her destiny. While Briar is ready to yank the stepsisters off the stage, Apple uses her clever nature to make the best of the situation. But she never tells Ashlynn that she shouldn’t have to wait on her stepsisters, especially since they’re so mean to her. This also makes me wonder (a bit off topic) why Ashlynn, now a rebel, has to listen to what they say. Is it a magical constraint? Is it learned behavior that she’s having trouble letting go of?

I still don’t know what to make of Apple and Ashlynn’s friendship. I know that Apple has been close friends with Briar and Blondie for a long time, and Ashlynn and Briar have known each other since nursery (rhyme) school, but it seems like Ashlynn and Apple didn’t have a lot of interaction until they started at Ever After High. Adding the strain on their friendship that occurred during True Hearts’ Day (and Apple’s mini-feud with Briar during Thronecoming), it’s surprising to see them chumming it up so much in these episodes—and that Apple was the first person Ashlynn wanted to take with her. Perhaps she was being nice because Apple was right there?

(Side note: tbh I prefer Ashlynn’s original voice actress, but Karen Strassman still does a great job)

Bruh the way Apple is cringing at Raven and Dexter’s awkwardness is so funny. At least she’s being supportive!

(Side note: idk how anyone could hate Raven and Dexter together tbh, they’re so cute)

“I say we pitch in and do something!” Apple says. (30 minutes later) “We just have to be patient and think positive thoughts”

How did Apple still manage to go to the Forest Fest :////

Junior year! Arguably Apple’s worst. She was immature as a sophomore, but the events of Dragon Games are tough to beat. Let’s see how her character changes after summer break.

Apple volunteering Raven to work on the yearbook instead of asking her first…hm…

I can’t fault Apple for not wanting to look bad in the yearbook. Have you taken a look inside yours from high school or college? That shit looks BAD. And she’s supposed to be the future queen of Ever After. That’s prime gossip rag material right there.

(Side note: Raven’s response to seeing Poppy and Duchess flail through the air was to take a picture instead of using her powers to help them lol)

(Side note: I must point out that in my story Poppy and Sparrow used to be a thing, and now Duchess and Sparrow…Poppy definitely seems like the kind of person to be chill about those sorts of things. Not Duchess though 😂)

(Side note: Bunny and Alistair really got their own episode 🙄 thankfully Kitty has had enough of hetero nonsense and is our sole source of entertainment here)

(Another side note, I know: do Maddie and Kitty not feel any existential dread at the fact that the narrators can alter and rewind their lives? Make them do things they don't want to do? Change their relationships with the people around them? Isn't that a gross violation of their personhood?)

Why is Bunny Apple’s wicket keeper?

CONCLUSION

You can see instances of Apple slowly starting to adapt her Royal ideology to be a better friend, which is good. I don't know what would have sparked this change over summer break, but I'm sure people like Ashlynn, Briar, and Raven really appreciated it. It seems like she was on an upward trend until the Big Event of junior year, which is a little heartbreaking.

How comes Ghost gains a likeness towards Godseeker? (I wanna know mooore about the AU sorrynotsorry)

In Game Godseeker at first was very arrogant towards them and just started to show interest in Ghost, when they reached higher Pantheons. She doesn't strike me as the Kind of Person that would be interested in Rebuilding Hallownest because the Bugs there are no Gods. But feel free to change my mind!

Yeah, theyre not gods to a "Higher being" degree, but she considers them "holy" in some way....? you can actually see statues of vengeflies and husks in the hall of gods Which is kind of funny knowing how lowly she thinks of the knight at first lol

my interpretation is that the "holiness" these bugs possess comes from being under the influence of a higher being, be it Radiance or pk in Hallownest's case (mantis lords being the exception for being cool as fuck), which would explain why she doesn't want to have anything to do with the Knight, as it probably has its own thing going on that she did not understand at the time.

In this case she probably wouldn't care much for the bugs at Dirtmouth since most are new to the kingdom. But now that tk ascended into "godhood", maybe she wouldn't mind them much for being it's friends…? idk

As to why Ghost ends up liking Godseeker, i think that her call for powerful beings might have unintentionally pulled it into godhome, getting it to complete pantheons and, subconsciously, getting interested in her. even through all the insults and everything. i mean who doesnt like a big mean woman am i right  haha *SWEATING*

THOUGH, as to why i believe it feels affection towards her i'll be talking about that below the cut (post got a bit too long sorryy)

ok just to be clear, the knight barely gets any sort of indication of personality in game, this is all just me overanalyzing Every single little crumb of possible person(bug?)hood I could find. which is kind of nothing honestly since all of this could be intentional or not, but i'm feasting on that shit like crazy

1: One thing (and its kind of the main thing that funnily made me descend into this rabbit hole) is that canonically, you can only gift her a delicate flower AFTER completing p2, which by this point it very much knows what she is like. Now i am aware that this could mean literally anything, but i highly doubt it would gift her a flower out of hate or indiference. That shit is hard as hell to deliver.

2: So a while ago i made this gifset about its walking animations. Something that, as I've noted in the post, it normally does when confronted with something important to it... For some reason TC felt compelled to program that for whenever it encountered Godseeker in between pantheons, despite the slight inconvenience it might cause for gameplay, so it was probably not added for that. at the very least i assume that theres a sort of respect it has for her

remus grew up working class, he was in SJ (sozialistische jugend... is that a thing in germany too? either way, i think the name is pretty self-explanatory), they had a karl marx reading group there and he actually enjoyed reading marx.

he hates pretentious academic leftists who have read karl marx and get their university degree financed by their parents who are upper middle class, you know the kind that study philosophy or sociology and will spend hours debating you on gramsci, lenin or bakunin but have never once tipped a taxi driver or greeted the person cleaning the hallway of their university building. remus hates them with a fiery passion.

sirius grew up rich rich. like, his family doesn't just own the appartment in whatever is the most expensive district of berlin he grew up in, they own the whole fucking building and they have a villa on sylt. sirius and regulus have spent most of their summers there. idk anything about sylt except that's where rich people go on holiday in germany and that it would actually be beautiful if the rich people weren't there.

anyways so sirius grew up with conservative ideas all around him and had to educate himself on everything left wing in secret. obviously james had a big influence, he introduced sirius to lots of new ideas and encouraged sirius's curiosity about social justice and left-winged politics.

sirius has also read karl marx, in his 2nd semester at university, in a pretentious student reading group with other pretentious students. sirius is a radical antifacist, and he fights with so much passion it sometimes consumes him. he has had to unlearn all the things he was told by his family and the people they surrounded him with, and he fights with every fiber not to be like them.

sometimes, especially in the beginning, he still slips up. he makes mistakes, forgets that the way he was brought up is not the norm for everyone. sometimes he even tries to hide how he grew up, especially because he doesn't have any access to his parents money anymore, but then he also realises he shouldn't hide the privileges their money let him have access to in regards to education etc. when he was younger. it's something he spends a lot of time thinking about, and having working class friends, and friends from different backgrounds, and friends who are immigrants is so eye-opening to him, it's like this whole new world has opened up once he entered university. he's doing his best, he's still learning, and sometimes he messes up and assumes everyone has done a spontaneous trip to a different continent to visit a friend or spent 200€ on a night out because they were too drunk.

2. Ramble about your favorite character of all time as much as you want. We're listening

Ohhhh boy. Oh man. Oh geez. You play a dangerous game, starting out with the kicker.

The obvious choice would be Luz, right? because she's like, the perfect main character. Lovable, relatable, flawed, believable (mostly; those fireworks were a bit much), clever, emotional, funny, the list goes on.

But.

However.

I have to go with Vee.

To me, Vee is all those things and more. She's still relatable, but for completely different (some unaddressed by canon, some completely made up by me) reasons. She's the cutest sweetest little shapeshifter we actually got the chance to get to know (sorry Stringbean). She's flawed, she'd completely given up on Luz's return and was ready to throw away whatever parts of her life she didn't jive with, and then even after most of a day of hanging out with her, she was STILL kinda mad at her! She's got confusing emotions and she was able to admit it! She's a tortured and traumatized kid who's trying maybe a bit too hard to put it all behind her, and even her more fantastical struggles are made to make perfect sense in that context. She's clever and observant enough to blend in with humans (and even convince Camila she was Luz for a while), and she was instrumental in solving the rebus. She's funny not just in her sense of humor (which is anywhere from awkward to earnest to dry, all hilarious), but also in the dichotomy of being one of the more "normal" "human" characters in the show, despite not really being either of those things (part of a thought-extinct species, and unique even among others of that species. said species is a kind of magic-eating shape-shifting demon from another realm, and here she is in suburban connecticut, idly learning spanish with her friends).

She's my precious baby blorbo and I love her. She's chubby (I'm chubby), she's awkward around her crush (I'm awkward around my crush (and also in general)), she likes to wear warm colors and big boots (I like to wear warm colors and big boots (not that I have any that fit well enough for daily wear)), she's got a bit of an overbite (I had one when I was young), she is (or, I guess, was?) kinda sorta something like a twin (I'm a twin), her hair is poofy and long (at least in her epilogue design) (my hair is poofy and long), augh, she feels basically tailor-made for me. I'm not exaggerating when I say I learned to love certain parts of myself by loving them first in her.

She's perfect.

8. Any headcanons? If so, which are your favorite?

Soooo many. Like, enough that I'm writing a whole ass barely-even-canon-divergent AU just to give myself the excuse to explore them. Actually, kinda writing two if you count MatVNN, but it's more of a post-canon affair.

Probably my favorite, though, is Vee being trans (and a bunch of other flavors of queer). I'll admit, a lot of the things that make me like Vee so much are just Sorta Plausible Shit I Came Up With, and chief among them is my trans Vee theory.

So, I'll start with the canon stuff:

Vee is rather unique, even among basilisks. Her tail has 3 fins rather than the other basilisks' 1 or 2 fins, her eyes have a different structure (and more individual colors) than the others', and she has a distinct head and neck that the other basilisks don't have. She's also a lot smaller than the other basilisks: about half the size of III and IV, and even smaller compared to the "greater basilisk" which attacked Hexside (we'll call her the Inspector). In the epilogue, Vee's size doesn't appear to have changed much, if at all (hell, even in her human form, she doesn't look much taller), nor have the sizes of III and IV. The only change any of them appear to have gone through is that Vee has more/longer hair, some of which is a lighter cyan than the previous navy blue, which still remains at her roots and on her ears.

Those are the facts. Now, there could be any number of reasons for her unique traits.

The doylist reason is the easiest: she was designed to look smaller and more humanoid to appear to the audience as more sympathetic. Her strange eyes could just be a bit of fun character design, something to make her stand out on screen. No biggie.

The watsonian reasons are a lot more compelling to me though.

She could very well be quite young for a basilisk. Perhaps their eyes change shape and lose some of their color as they grow up. Perhaps the neck becomes less distinct as they get older. Perhaps even after the 3+ year timeskip before the epilogue, Vee was still prepubescent for a basilisk.

Perhaps the various basilisks are representative of different species within the same family (ex. the Inspector is called a "greater basilisk", but the others are just referred to as "basilisks"), and Vee's unique traits are staples of whatever specific species she is (I first came across this theory in A Blight on Bonesborough, by GeminiAlchemist, and they proposed "fat-tailed basilisk" as the name of Vee's species, mostly for the sake of a gag)

One of the more interesting theories is that she's only half basilisk. I wasn't the one to come up with it, but I don't remember who was, so for that I apologize, but basically, there was a theory going around for a little while after her introduction, that Vee was actually the bastard child of one of the other basilisks and Warden Wrath. The biggest point of evidence was the yellow pupils, a trait only shared between Vee and Wrath, as well as the fact that Wrath was clearly involved in the basilisk project, as shown in Vee's flashbacks in Yesterday's Lie. It's not my favorite theory by any means, but it's a super interesting one, very angsty.

My personal theory, however, and the theory on which I base a few of my other Vee headcanons, is that all the myriad differences between Vee and the other basilisks can be explained away by a simple case of sexual dimorphism in the basilisk species. "Number 5" was simply the only "male" basilisk shown on screen.

Now, what's the evidence for this theory? There is none! As with all the best headcanons, there's no real reason it should be true, but there's ALSO no definitive evidence it isn't true.

So, Number 5 escaped the labs, wandered into the Human Realm, took the form of the only human he'd seen, and spent 3 months at summer camp incidentally trying out being a girl. Turns out, she liked it! So when the time came to give Luz back her identity, Vee made her own new form a girl too.

Now, this headcanon comes with some... caveats? Complications? Sprinkles of realism? I like to imagine some extraneous silly little plot points surrounding this.

Gonna mention 'nads & stuff in purple, so skip past it if you're squeamish about people having body parts or whatever.

When Vee took on Luz's form, she didn't really know what was going on under all those clothes, so she improvised, and kept things as close to her basilisk form as possible. It was partly to conserve magic during the shift, and partly just because she couldn't imagine what to put there. This meant she had a dick, and probably a pretty funny-looking one, too, until she came across a human health textbook and got a better picture of what that whole situation is supposed to look like.

Eventually, during an accident with someone in the Cabin 7 crew (probably standard "woops, didnt realize you were changing in here" shenanigans), someone catches her with her pants down, and she accidentally makes them think Luz is trans. A silly little mixup, definitely no consequences in the future, for sure.

After this, Vee ends up learning about pride flags and their meanings, and starts collecting those things like trading cards. She is staggeringly queer. I tend to think of her as bi/pan/demi-rose, genderqueer, genderfluid (usually on a sliding scale between fem and neutral, but outside that range often enough to be noteworthy), and polyam (in theory, anyways, but even by the epilogue she's still only had one partner, Masha. Granted, she's only maybe 18 by then, so she's got a LOT of time left to try things out), but because that's So Many Labels, she tends to simplify down to Queer. Am I projecting? Yeah, a little. Maybe a lot. So what?

Anyways, when Luz comes back and Vee picks out her own human form, she mostly performs a 1-1 translation from her basilisk form to her human form (matching her standing height, size, approximate face shape, etc), and in so doing, takes on a few typically-masculine characteristics (like a mostly-flat, somewhat-wide chest, bodyfat mostly at her belly, and of course, a (normal, human) dick (most of the time, anyways; she is a shapeshifter, and can do whatever she wants forever)), resulting in her rather androgynous appearance. If her human form is gonna be her, it's gonna reflect her truth: she wasn't always a girl, but she is now. In the epilogue, her human form looks a bit more feminine/less androgynous than before (most notably with wider hips), as if she'd been on HRT for long enough to see some changes.

Now, I've also got all manner of general Basilisk Biology Headcanons, such as how shapeshifting works (magic is used to perform transformations, and reverting to their natural form doesn't use any; holding a transformation only burns calories, not magic; transformations are holistic, inside-and-out, with the two exceptions being the brain and whatever organ stores collected magic), how magical hunger works (it doesn't quite exist, they're not vampires, eating/draining magic is just a thing they Can do in order to transform, not a thing they Have to do to live; however, when a basilisk is hungry, it begins burning through its magic to stave off malnutrition, causing them to seek out magically dense food (really just magic in general, kinda maladaptive like humans' sugar cravings)), how mass distribution works when they transform (they retain their weight when they take on new forms, which limits their transformed size by how far they can compress/decompress their mass. this is part of why the Inspector was so hungry; they were near the limits of how far they could compress, and burning through calories like crazy to stay that way), their natural habitat (fins on their tails suggest they're at least semi-aquatic, but the fact that they stayed on the Boiling Isles as they fled from Belos suggests that they're not immune to (and thus not native to) the Boiling Sea, therefore I propose that they were native to lakes, the only bodies of water shown not to be boiling all the time. also they use their shapeshifting to change their bouyancy as they dive for mollusks or whatever), reproduction (internal fertilization, followed by egg laying; they can change their physical sex pretty much at will, because they're shapeshifters, but if it's not their "natural" form, it still consumes magic to get into that form and burns extra calories to hold the form; fertilization and pregnancy tends to go quite poorly if a basilisk changes/reverts to a form that doesn't have the proper equipment for whatever child they're currently bearing), and so on (basilisk eyes are adapted for underwater, leaving them relatively nearsighted unless transformed to be otherwise, and they have a short-term photographic memory to make assembling accurate disguises on the fly easier/possible), but I don't really feel the need to go tooooo into detail with all that >.>

12. What do you consider the most memorable scene? Why?

That's a very tough choice, between the graveyard fight in Thanks to Them (Very intense. Very beautiful, very powerful) and the Lumity dance in Enchanting Grom Fright (Very romantic. Very beautiful, very powerful). They both basically defined the fandom brainrot after their respective releases, and unlike the various season finales, there was little else cutting in to interrupt and distract from them. Just tasty, tasty action, one at the breathtaking height of fluff, and the other in the soul-crushing depths of angst.

A close third, to whichever one of those is only second-best, would be the duel for the portal key in Eclipse Lake (Very dramatic. Very beautiful, very powerful). Another big action scene, who'd'a thunk it, and another angsty one, too.

Her snakebites were a big start to her body modification journey, so definitely at #1!

Her sternum and clavicle was the first project she started tattoo wise - it was for her, reclaiming her own body. after her breast reduction there was scarring she wanted to in a way cover, and this allowed that to happen. leaves, roses and poppies feature heavily in her tattoos because she loves foresty designs. this in #2

#3 you see those little bug looking designs on her back and stomach? little fireflies. her favourite little design across everything! they are just so cute! but also, the night is her domain, and she found a lot of solace sitting on poppy hill at night, watching the fireflies dance.

will there be more?

most likely. she has plans for more tattoos as the years continue, and certainly gets advice from Baxter for them too!

(Baxter adores all her piercings and tattoos; He loves tracing the tattoos when he can see them, the clavicle one being his favourites for important reasons >.<)

the utter strength i needed to not just ramble until i had no more characters to use was hard. all her tattoos have a significant meaning, its basically her story craved into her skin, every part of her that she wears with pride. can you tell i love them with all my being?

What's your total Ao3 word count? Holy...! Uh, 1,700,611. (I should've guessed, I've got some ultra-long fics on there, but Jesus Christ on a cracker.)

What fandoms do you write for? These days, mostly The Magnus Archives. I've also written for Star Trek (primarily the AOS/Kelvin films), the MCU/Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Cut & Run, and RQG. I've got a couple of very, very old Sherlock fics, a couple PJO fics from some ship week challenges I took part in back when the Heroes of Olympus books were still coming out, a couple WTNV fics, a few Star Wars fics that never made it to AO3, and three one-offs.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Ooh...that's a toughie, actually, but I'm going to go with Where the Road Waits to be Taken because it's the only one where the ending focuses on the people left behind.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Also a toughie! But I'm going to go with Love Will Find Out the Way.

Do you get hate on fics? Not so much anymore. I've been around long enough that I definitely used to, but I write for saner fandoms now.

.Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Not these days. I'm asexual and, while I'm personally sex-averse, my tolerance for it in fiction kind of goes in cycles. I think the last time I wrote an explicit sex scene was in 2016 or 2017.

.Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? Heh...I do, on occasion. Most recently the WTNV/TMA crossover (the full extent of which hasn't been published yet), which isn't that crazy. I think the craziest one I wrote was the Sherlock/Star Trek crossover that was also (sigh) a HP AU...which I have deleted, so sorrynotsorry.

Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not as far as I know, but I don't exactly go looking.

Have you ever had a fic translated? Again, not as far as I know.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Uh...technically? My brother had an idea for a fic, but he wasn't old enough to join any fanfic websites at the time (we were probably the only two kids who never lied about our age on the internet to join websites), so he dictated it to me, I fleshed it out and posted it under my username.

What's your all time favorite ship? I love so many, but I have to say, the only ship I love that I genuinely can call an OTP in that I cannot fathom them in a relationship with anyone else (even adding anyone else to the equation) is Cecilos. JonMartin is a close second, but, well, I can see (and frequently enjoy) them also having other people in their relationships. Cecil and Carlos? Nuh-uh.

What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Ooh. There are...a couple. But I have a WIP sitting in my Tumblr drafts that was a sequel to Hurry Up and Slow Me Down that I would very much like to finish someday...I just, yeah.

What are your writing strengths? Angst and heartbreak. I've got a gift for descriptions, and I'm really good at conveying emotion in text. And I think I have a knack for putting together a tasty sentence.

What are your writing weaknesses? I do tend to get hung up on irrelevant details, and I frequently think myself into a corner. I also think I tend to obsess sometimes about things being perfect...and if I'm being honest, a big weakness of mine (not just in my writing, but in general) is that I often feel like it's something I need to apologize for, which is not helpful.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? Oh, I love doing that! I try to put a translation in hover text, and also in a footnote for benefit of screen readers, but I also try not to burden the actual text with translations. It's one of those "trust the reader to know what you're trying to say, and if they can't figure it out from context, you have failed as a writer" things to me. (This may have something to do with the fact that I used to write Star Trek fanfic, and conlangs are a thing.)

First fandom you wrote for? If you want to get technical, Power Rangers; I used to tell myself stories about the Power Rangers to put myself to sleep at night when I was a little kid, and once I wrote one down and read it out loud for Show and Tell. (The opening line was "One night, when Kimberly and Trini were sleeping, they were stolen," which should tell you everything you need to know about it. In my defense, I was seven.) I didn't know that's what it was at the time, though. If you're talking fandoms that I wrote for knowing it was a fandom and published on the internet...well, I grew up in the '90s and turned thirteen in the early '00s, so it probably shouldn't be that big of a surprise that it was HP.

Favorite fic you've written? It's like asking me to pick a favorite child. I am deeply in love with to find promise of peace (and the solace of rest) even if the next chapter is currently frustrating me a bit, because I am always deeply in love with my current project, because I love the way it showcases how I've grown as an author. That being said, I think my favorite fic that is currently complete might actually be Tomorrow When the World Is Free.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for all your fanfic stories. The amount of thought, detail, depth and imagination you put into them are just *chef's kiss. I thought I was a full blown Kotallo fan but my god, the Drakka ones... they have blind sided me. Especially the most recent one. I saw a while back that Galoo had found the other character (Yef) that uses the same face model and thought I'd make the image below to show Drakka being all lovely without his facepaint. I made one without the white markings but his blackeye became too prominent. Anyways, thank you again for being amazing. x

Annie my sweet, sweet love. 💗 Everytime I need to talk about my oc even if I feel shy about it (for no apparent reason?) I just start mindlessly RAMBLING because... I never stfu enough. 😭

Okay so I actually have 2 OCs... or 1, depends. 🤔 One of them is just how I portray myself skldkfid with black hair and dark coffee eyes and random ass clothing, that if I eventually learn how l draw for myself I will post it for the mere fun of it &lt;3

And I also have a HOTD OC, my dear Verynia Targaryen, whom I like to think as the younger half-sister of Nyra (and my girl Nia absolutely adores her & sticks up for her). She’s the rider of Silvermoon, and she adores her nephew Lucerys (sorrynotsorry😳), and she has long wavy platinum hair (like every Targaryen 🤭), dark eyes, and pale skin.

I love thinking of her as a girlboss who loves to wear jewellery (especially with dragon imagery sometimes, like brooches that are dragon shaped), and loves wearing either black or crimson dresses. I often make piccrews of her but can’t find any of them now! 😫

I also have tons of things to talk about her BUT if I keep going I won’t shut up about it for sure!! Thanks for letting me talk about her! 💗
