Prince Charming

Jax took the punch to his jaw like a champ. He knew it was deserved after what had transpired the last few weeks. In his effort to bring a peace between the Sons and Mayans he had fallen head over heels for you. Unfortunately for him you were seen as Mayan royalty and off limits . Jax had ignored every warning as all he could think about was tasting the forbidden fruit that was you.

"Its fine" he stated as he stood up waving Chibs and Tig back as he met the gaze of your brother. Smirking Jax rubbed his jaw. He hadn't wanted you to be shocked when you arrived to the party. "I told him you were very pretty I promise" joked Jax making you roll your eyes as you stared down at him on the bench.

You sighed as you shook your head before shooting him a small smile. "I love you but your such a bad liar. I told you not to tease him" you replied as you crossed your arms. Jax chuckled but his attention was on the way your nipple rings poked out of the skin tight dress you were wearing. "So are you gonna kiss me or not? Make my boo boos better?" he questioned as he let his eyes roam your body.

you shift awkwardly in your seat as you watch sunghoon dance around with a woman. his hands graze against her back with each step they take, their fingers intertwined. the song continues to drone on as sunghoon glances over her shoulder at you, giving you a small smile. you let it ease your jealousy as they continue, twirling around the room. 

“they’re cute together,” a woman whispers next to you. her friend hums, leaning closer to her. 

“i wonder when the king will settle down. it’s hard to run a kingdom alone.”

he nervously bows, mumbling a quick ‘yes, your majesty’ before he rushes off. sunghoon sighs, relaxing his shoulders. you push yourself off of the wall, almost jumping into his arms. he wraps his arms around your waist as you bury your face into his chest. fresh tears threaten to fall before you blink them away. “you’re okay,” he murmurs, hand rubbing your back. he presses a kiss to your forehead, coaxing your face away from his chest. “what did he say to you?” 

you take a shaky breath, looking down at your feet. “he said i don’t mean anything to you.”

I'm a sucker for stuff like royalty and fantasy and the likes but with the characters I like which is rare to find.

20: what something that immediately makes you exit out of a fic?

Well if I literally can't read it then I either immediately exit out or decide that reading this might be entertaining so I try to read it, am unable to, and I proceed to exit out. But honestly proper formatting is the very first thing anyone notices so it's extremely important to do well. It's almost an immediate sign of whether or not it is a fic even slightly worth it's salt.

Sometimes things like references to music that dates the fic and is clearly something that the character would probably never listen to.

Misuse of a character by turning them into a blatant oc

Ooh when the tension or internal conflict is so poorly written that it makes a character sound like they are a 15 year old in highschool. Clothes tie into this as well.

It takes a lot to write good crack so I usually find myself exiting out of crack fics a lot. Really we don't discuss enough what makes or breaks a crack fic.

Making Feliks a diehard brony

There are so many little things that I immediately judge a fic by.

For example, when someone clearly is trying to use a tip or something they learned online for writing and it's applied ineffectively. Or like you know they looked up in a thesaurus, every single descriptor or adjective when it clearly doesn't mesh the level of writing (like using a synonym that is overly formal and whatnot in an otherwise fic that is written with an informal style ( note informal style isn't a bad thing you just have to make sure it's consistent and works for the story)

i'm doing b first because LEGEND OF DRIZZT. IT'S LEGEND OF DRIZZT. RP exists because I read like fourteen drizzt books in a row, then a bunch of fic, got extreme brainrot about it, wrote a 130k jartemis/descent into avernus au and then immediately afterwards wrote the first draft of RP

and then my brain went 'no more reading drizzt books. you know 1 (one) bad Thing that happens and now you Cannot Read Them :)' so i haven't read past the first third of the second sellswords book in like. two? three years? it's a Situation of Affairs, to be sure

anyway for a...i think my favourite fantasy element is probably the Adventuring Party. it's so D&D, but RP is a very D&D-style book, it's meant to be that kind of fantasy. I love a good ragtag group of adventurers who will complain and bicker but ultimately love each other

that and assassins. i am such a fucking sucker for assassins. even when the rest of the book is not my favourite, i'm still there for the assassin, or assassin-adjacent character. (looks directly at the Rhapsody books)

👑Do you like writing short fics or long fics? I do tend to go for short fics, but I currently have three longfics on the go. Two which I'm trying to finish before I start posting (a morally grey Andromeda AU and a fantasy/royalty arranged marriage AU - also Tedromeda, of course) and my Tedoire fic that's probably going to take a decade to finish because I mostly write that when the vibes are right haha.

💘Is it easier to write angst or fluff? Fluff, definitely all the fluff

I do write angst on occasion, but It's always followed by fluff.

Soulmate Aus:

I love soulmate aus, but I feel like not many people actually know how to write a soulmate au well, so I don't read them as often. However, when a soulmate au is written well, it is easily one of the best tropes in my opinion.

Rich x Poor

Again, this trope can either be done very well or absolutely horribly. There needs to be a good sense of balance between the two, and nothing can be too one-sided. But it's such a cute idea in theory, and when people pull it off, it's a very fun trope.

Friends to Lovers

I'm a sucker for wholesome fluff, and childhood besties to lovers is the ultimate form of fluff. There's nothing better than watching two kids who have known each other since childhood slowly develop feelings for each other. It's the cutest.

Villain x Sidekick

This is a very particular trope, but it's always lived in my head rent free. Imagine the sidekick to the hero is injured or something. You think the hero is gonna go and save them, but instead the hero decides to sacrifice their sidekick and leave them to die. The villain sees this and is horribly angered and decides to defend the sidekick, taking them in and treating their injuries. Romance ensues.

Shy x "They asked for no pickles"

Basic but adorable. The one who's scared of confrontation, and the one who handles all social situations for them. It's a perfect combination and it's just really wholesome.

All Powerful Deity x Some Dude

Just the image of an all-powerful being who can control literal universes falling for some rando mortal is so funny to me. Bonus points if the mortal is super oblivious to the whole thing as well.

T4T

As a T4T myself, I love it when other creators write T4T content. It doesn't matter if it's queer or het T4T, as long as it's two (or more) trans people vibing and being in love with each other, living out my dreams.

Cinnamon Roll x Would Kill You

Extra points if their aesthetics are swapped. Ya know, a big, beefy, scary looking character who is secretly a big softie with a heart of gold, and a small, adorable character who is super violent and has probably killed a man before. It's entertaining, especially when their personalities are mixed up by others.

Royalty x Bodyguard

The potential is real with this one. There's so many ways a trope like this could go, and I just love that versatility. It could be angsty, it could be fluffy, or it could be a glorious mixture of both, but they're all wonderful options.

Flirty Extravert x Nerdy Introvert

Really, I love any kind of opposites attract, but this one might be my fave. I just find it funny, and a lot of my favorite ships fit into this trope well, so it had to be mentioned. It's fun, and the amount of stories it could lead to are basically endless.

And I'm sure there are plenty more, but these are the only ones I could think of at the moment. Thank you for asking!

XD Speaking of AUs, now you have me intrigued about the arranged marriage AU that you mentioned. I would absolutely love to hear more about that as well if you're willing. -An absolute sucker for various outcomes of various situations known as AUs 🍂

So anyway, this AU isn't actually that well developed, but that's fine because talking about AUs helps me brainstorm them and develop them further (FaaF for example was a WAAAAY different AU before I started telling my bestie about it) so this is very convenient for me (so yeah this is also the first time I'm talking about this AU publically, no tag for it yet)

Excuse my rambling, I'm pretty much going to brainstorm in this post LMAO

Originally, Petunia was going to be related to Vespa, either her bastard child or grandchild that she marries off in exchange for training the Pure Vessel, but I was very, very unhappy with this idea from the get-go. With how opposed Vespa is to the entire plan in the game it would have been very OOC for her to do this in my opinion, and while I am a big advocate for "canon is just a suggestion" and am not too pressed about accurate characterisation, changing a character only to prop up the other is the only thing I cannot vibe with. Truly, the only reason Vespa even came to mind in the first place is because she's the closest and most convenient bee royalty, which...isn't a great reason to change her Singular Canon Trait, in my opinion.

Instead, I think I'm just going to have to plop down another bee kingdom reasonably nearby Hallownest but not a part of it. This does mean I could get to explore Petunia's parents as characters, which I've been meaning to do for a while (I don't talk about her past often because it isn't fully finished, but her mother wasn't a good parent. It's something they and Flower bond over in main FaaF AU).

Pale King, looking for any opportunity to sharpen his Pure Vessel's skills, works out an agreement with them. Their "problem child" will be married off to his vessel and he'll accept them into his family and they will be treated as such even post-sealing, and in exchange, her bees will help train the vessel.

Although she's not a good parent and pretty much just wants an easy way out of her problems with her son, she still loves him in her own weird, problematic way. So she only agreed to this because she was filled in on the basics of the Pure Vessel's nature and with the promise that they're not actually alive, in her mind marrying Petunia off isn't a problem if the said spouse is barely above an object. In her mind, Petunia will still get to live her life and date and do whatever she wants and won't have the obligations of a normal political marriage because nobody's actually expecting her to be loyal to an object, but now she's not her problem but the Pale King's, and maybe the two of them can have a normal relationship now that they don't constantly bicker and fight.

This of course doesn't go according to plan.

Petunia's mother's opinions of her daughter and their relationship couldn't be further from the truth, and if she thinks dropping them off to be a part of some other family will fix their problems then she's deeply mistaken. Petunia is not the kind to forgive easily and she sees this as just another slight from their mother, that she demands that Petunia respect her and be nice to her but doesn't actually want to put any of the work into fixing her wrongs and their relationship. So this entire situation just infuriates Petunia, who hates his mother even more now, and on top of it they feel alone and scared in a new kingdom, surrounded by strangers - and man are the nobles here complete assholes.

Petunia and Flower meet as teens and are married off shortly after they both turn 18 and then Petunia moves to Hallownest. They share a room and everything, and at first, Flower is very, very unhappy about their arrangement. They didn't want to get married to this stranger, that wasn't how they imagined their wedding day, and now they lost one of the very few safe spaces for them where they could be themself and relax in private.

But the more they live together and interact with one another, Flower starts not minding Petunia as much. They're always so unusually nice to them, despite knowing of their nature. And, okay, they'll admit it, they're actually kinda cute.

Flower finally reveals themself to Petunia when they one day return to their room after training and find her crying on the bed. They want to comfort her somehow, she was always so nice to them and they want to repay them.

Instead, they damn near give Petunia a heart attack. On the plus side, he's not crying anymore? It's hard to cry when a supposed statue is talking to you

They eventually calm down, and then they're just bewildered, honestly

"Why- why would you reveal your secret to me?"

"Because you were sad, I hate seeing you sad... And also no one will believe you."

So after this, they actually start to develop a friendship. Flower can actually act like themself at the end of the day again, and honestly, it's actually kind of nice to be able to talk to somebody who isn't their little sister.

Petunia can vent to them about their life and they always listen and try to support her, and similarly, they finally have somebody who they can rely on and vent to.

Petunia eventually started going out with them and Hornet, and sometimes he even managed to convince the Pale King to let him take Flower along to the city whenever they didn't have any other duties.

Petunia eventually settled into Hallownest nicely with their and Hornet's help, and aside from occasional hiccup with their mother whenever she'd remember their existence and write a letter their life was pretty good.

Over the course of the next few years, they grew extremely close together and naturally eventually started catching feelings. Cue the good old secret romance. Petunia even tried to convince them to reveal themself and not be sealed, but he knew that if Flower's anything it's extremely stubborn and there was no changing their mind once they set out to accomplish something.

This all went to shit the second Flower's knighting ceremony goes awry

Instantly, Petunia's mother treats it as a break of their deal and demands Pale King return her child home and for the marriage to be broken. She of course doesn't ask Petunia's opinion even once. Meanwhile, Pale King is busy trying to, you know, save his kingdom, so he essentially tells her to suck it and wait until after he deals with more pressing issues because he doesn't have the time now to handle their divorce.

On the plus side, Petunia's presence does mean Flower feels more comfortable and safer around the palace. Their spouse is literally the last saving grace in all of this.

Though to be fair, I am not happy about this version either. It honestly would have been better if I could get the Vespa version to work, but currently, I have no idea how to do that. Aside from it being just way more convenient, I also greatly prefer political drama within Hallownest rather than bringing up a distant kingdom into this. So I guess if you have any suggestions, feel free to hit me with them!

hi goose this is a few days old now but finally getting around to answering this!

aaa thank you I'm so glad you like my descriptions :D it was definitely a bit tough getting back into the glass writing groove with the style I use for the descriptions and stuff so I'm glad it turned out ok

YEAHHH TATTOO TIME. every single time I see fanart of the tattoo I freak out (/pos) so much because all the interpretations are SO cool. I love seeing what people come up with because I myself have no artistic ability, I can only describe what's in my head through words, so when people are able to actually put that into art form it just makes me so happy

yes exactly that's why I wanted it on his pulse!! I wanted it to sit right over the reminder that he's human! that he has blood pumping through his veins! everyone has that blood and that heartbeat and I wanted the tattoo to sit right above that both because of the connection to his heartbeat, but also because it's the place other people can feel your pulse. it's the connection point almost between your pulse and others, if that makes sense.

(random fun fact, I can't feel my own pulse on my wrist. doctors and nurses can't get a pulse from my wrist either. like there have been many times I've gone to the doctor and the nurse has tried to take my pulse and they frown and readjust their hand and then they try the other wrist and no matter what it doesn't work and I'm just sitting there. the only place you can get a pulse off of me besides straight up feeling my heartbeat is on my carotid artery on my throat)

aaa I'm so glad you enjoyed!! I had so much fun with the format of this chapter. I plotted it out a bit before my trip, and I specifically wanted to finish ch 25 before my trip because I knew ch 26 was going to be the one I'd most want to write after I got back. I needed a REALLY good exciting chapter to come back to and the alternating format was going to be the way I sucked myself back into the story after being out of that headspace for 3 weeks straight, and it worked. it was just so cinematic in my head y'know? I can perfectly picture the flipping between past and present with like different color grading and lighting and music and all that

She stared at the heavy wooden doors in front of her, frozen in dread. She was deaf to Tikki’s chidings of how ‘princesses are not supposed to be late’ and ‘Marinette, you’ve already kept him waiting long enough.’ Because behind those doors was another suitor. Another prince. Another potential future. 

She couldn’t move. 

“Marinette,” Tikki hissed, nudging her with her elbow. But she ignored her handmaiden. How was she supposed to go through those doors? How was she supposed to meet another prince who she was sure was ready to charm her. 

How was she supposed to let herself be charmed when she had already given her heart away?

The tiara that sat on her head suddenly felt heavier. It was the reason she had to let herself be charmed. Or at least, go through the motions of being charmed. Because her marriage wasn’t about love. It was about her duty to her people. 

And Lucas… 

She shook her head. She could never be with Lucas. It didn’t matter if her heart belonged to him, because she belonged to her kingdom. And her kingdom needed an alliance. Her kingdom needed trade routes and security. And despite the peace and reassurance, and the understanding he provided her, he could not provide what her kingdom needed. 

Besides… Lucas loved Marie. Not Princess Marinette.

She swallowed down the hard lump in her throat, though try as she might, she couldn’t still her trembling hands. She clasped them in front of her, hoping the draping of her sleeves would hide the display of nerves, and nodded to the pages standing by the doors. 

Her breaths were shallow and shaky as she stepped into the receiving room. She ignored the unimpressed look Tikki, who was serving as her chaperone for the meeting, was giving her. Silently, turned to face the man who could potentially be her future king. 

Her breath caught in her throat, almost choking her with shock. 

“Lucas?” his name was barely recognizable, the way her voice came out as a squeak. 

But it was him. The groom, who had accompanied one of the delegations, was standing right in front of her. 

Except… he wasn’t dressed like a groom anymore. The plain, threadbare shirt and mud-splattered breeches and boots were gone. Replaced with a silver and sapphire brocade doublet and immaculate black breeches and boots polished to a shine. And sitting on his midnight hair was a silver coronet set with sapphires that flashed in the light. 

“Ma- Ma- Marie?” She had never heard Lucas—was that even his name?—stammer before. But his face was a mirror to the storm of emotions brewing in her. They stood there, frozen, blinking at each other. She could feel the ghost of Tikki’s watchful eyes on her, but her mind and heart were racing too fast for her to care. 

Hope—the most dangerous thing to her heart—began to bubble up inside her. And before she could quash it down with… with some reasonable explanation for what was going on, Lucas’s eyes began to shine. And then a quiet, heart-stopping smile slowly curled across his face. “But I suppose it’s actually Princess Marinette?” 

“Y-yes,” she managed to get out as she nodded. A timid fool’s smile was tugging at the corners of her lips, but she didn’t dare let it get far as she gazed into his eyes.

Pre- Starhunters Veni used to live in a kingdom far away from Hallownest! They had a big family, mostly consistent of cousins and close uncles/aunts. He also had a twin brother, they loved each other very much! Practically glued to each other growing up.

He lost all of them after his kingdom was attacked and burned to the ground.

With the Starhunters she's like everyone's grandparent! Even with the oldest ones, a very loved leader

🚆 TRAIN - what is their answer to the trolley problem?

Uh, they don't care tbh HWKDHWKFNDNFN For Tari is get rid of just one person while Ruk is like "whichever ends up in more carnage" (he's on his edgy teen phase)

Oh Vris is like, very asshole- ish, especially with people who doesn't know him, always looking intimidating and not fearful of raising his voice. With the gang though? A total loser lmao, he's like your annoying older brother who will put you on a chokehold but also beat the hell out of anyone that annoys you

With his partners is a complete different change of attitude though! In the story I'm writing about my ocs they're not officially dating yet but he ends up in a relationship with Tigo (Tiger beetle) and Laki (damselfy), and while he's still a bit of his annoying self he's also such a sap, cheesy mf in private (he's also dating my friend's oc Oren @frolicinq in another timeline (?)) (pspspsps if someone wants to ship ocs pls do tell me I'm a sucker for oc ships)

🎀 RIBBON - how would they fit into other worlds / aus? what aus would you like to try out? what fictional world would they fit / not fit into?

I wanna play Bug Fables just for the fact I wanna make an au of them in that game too! As for other worlds/aus I haven't given it much thought, but in a human set au they would be like a gang of motorcyclists that set down in a community and are like, very intimidating to whoever dare threaten their friends/neighbors

Sheepi: She's a blacksmith! Mostly focuses on weapon repairs, a big nerd about weapons and stuff!

Veni: Uses any pronouns! I mostly exchange they/he/she with them but anyone can use anything to refer to them. They wear charms, (Twin Soul) A reflection of the sibling they loved so much, a memory of their fighting abilities. It creates a sort of physical manifestation of soul that looks similar to a younger Veni, it fights alongside him. (Pleads of Hope) A charm born out of the bugs that died in the war that took Veni's kingdom, waiting for their Queen to save them, it grants them more energy when they're close to being defeated.

Minos: The gang's medic! Despite his intimidating looks he's not much of a fighter! A peaceful kind of guy

Tigo: They used to be more beastly before getting a mask, still got beast traits as they still hunt for food and annihilates them with their mandibles

Hachi: Is dating Ignis

Ignis: Is dating Hachi

Vris: Covers the tip of his tail because he doesn't want to accidentally poison anyone, doesn't even use it in battle unless it's a life or death situation

Ruk: Tries to act older than what he is, kinda sounds goofy when he does

Tari: She was a Stag from Hallownest, though her time outside the kingdom messed up with her memories so she cannot recall much of that time (when she goes back her memory starts to slowly coming back)

Laki: She was royalty in her youth, but hated his family and ended up escaping with a mercenary group (was dating the leader back then) but also started to hate that lifestyle (mostly cause his ex's ideals were getting more corrupt with time), joined Veni's gang later

Cymo: Grumpy old man! Veni's closest friend and confidant (and maybe something more?) He's quite the artist too!

Dusa: I have the personal headcanon that jellyfish aren't... Well, they don't really have much going on there (they're just a jelly bag of nerves) but she was given a mask by someone a long time ago (she forgot about them) and gained focus because of it (I also think something similar happened with Monomon, but it's a personal headcanon so don't @ me)

alright so the thing is. i’m a sucker for getting together fics. which is why i dont love established relationships, i just need to see all the action as it happens. i have both angst and humor listed under S tier because when either of them is done right i literally cant get enough. but also bc i need fics for different moods. crack fics are very hard to get right, but when they are good they are Great imo. and like sometimes i just need to see my silly blorbos in silly situations. coffee shop au is A tier and ngl that’s probably because i read A Lot of zukka. and tbh i havent read a time loop fic but if you know one pls tell me! the concept is just so appealing. pwp is there bc i like it better when there’s a plot but yk. sometimes you gotta. amnesia fic is listed there bc im a dramatic bitch and also like. well. theres this one amnesia fic that changed my life idk if youve heard of it

so i dont love high school aus bc i guess im just not that interested in high schooler’s lives anymore lmao. college aus are fine but theyre not my favorite, also they stress me out bc they remind me of. college. missing scenes and fix its are not listed higher bc i feel like you need to be Really Good to get them right and most of the times there are no missing scenes and the thing doesnt need to be fixed.

my c tiers include tropes that i highly highly dislike, but they don’t make me cringe or actively repulse me lol. either that or i just dont read them because theyre sad and im weak.
