if you have ADHD and struggle with cleaning/keeping things clean, I’m going to offer some aggressively practical advice that may or may not work but has been so helpful for me to keep a base level of tidiness without losing a whole day to cleaning hyperfocus or ending up stressed to the point of crying about how much stuff I have to deal with.

(It’s best suited if you’re in your own apartment/house and have multiple rooms to manage.) But just start moving. Walk around your place. Put on some music or a YouTube video or whatever floats your boat in your headphones and go for a stroll. See some scissors on the coffee table? Snag em on your way by and drop them off where they go. A dish in your bedroom? Bring that bad boy to the sink as you round the corner. Going room by room or breaking tasks into smaller chunks honestly just stresses me out more lmao but wandering around aimlessly emptying trash bins and tossing socks into the hamper as I notice them?? Now I’m just playing one of those object spotter games babey. No pressure there. If I’m feeling extra ambitious I’ll carry a trash bag with me. Can’t get overwhelmed by a room if I leave it two seconds later. Something doesn’t have a place to go? Make one! Or leave it! Who cares!

A bonus tip is to go to Target or Goodwill or Homegoods or any place that has cheap bins/baskets (little ones that you’d keep pencils or rolls of tape or something in not large storage totes) and keep a few sets on hand. If you realize you’ve accumulated a comical number of sharpies you can go grab a little pencil tray for them and suddenly they have a place to go and now when you find a sharpie on the ground you can toss it in the sharpie bin. Doesn’t matter if the sharpie bin is still on the ground, I’m not going to slip and die in a marker-based Looney Tunes incident and I know if I need a sharpie I go to the spot on the floor next to my bookshelf.

And if you go for a walk and don’t pick up anything that’s also fine you at least moved around a bit. Familiarized yourself with the landscape.

It also tricks my brain into seeing “moving from one room to the other = picking up a few things to put away” which just generally helps keep piles from getting out of hand.

Once I’ve made a few laps things are generally tidy enough to do the same thing with vacuuming/wiping down surfaces/dusting etc.

(side note but if you’re in HS/otherwise living with your parents and being constantly squished under a hydraulic press of shame and pressure about your inability to keep your room clean without actually being given coping skills or help, I see you and I love you and I was you and having a messy living space is not actually a moral failing it’s just a thing that happens sometimes)

Big fckn redesigns here. Well mostly Charlie but Vaggie somewhat too 🥰🥰

Blue fits Charlie soooo much and I cease to see that many redesigns with this color. I still want red to be used in most of their designs because well. They are in hell, but not too present so to make way for other unique colors. Charlie has several physical traits from her parents but also she has some details in her clothes that match with them. When I uhh, introduce their designs you'll see lmao. I also tried to make her have a more roundish design, I jst LOVE those typ of designs omg. I just want the characters with not too many sharp corners pls Viv bro... 😔 oh yeah she's mixed cuz her mom's are darker in their redesigns. Alot of their genetics went down to Charlie so she doesn't look like an exact copy of Lucifer, I kind of hate that trend with hh and hb characters, like did the moxxies dad give birth to him bro 😭 also I kept her bow because it looks so cute and silly on her it just fits, I wish they made it bigger in her show design because it would fit her silliness so much. She has a cape with stars because morningSTAR smh why didnt they do something fun with that, missed potential but whatevs yknow I still love og designs no matter what anyone sayss. Did you know I love Charlie, I could ramble for days. I think I love Charlie guys. Maybe jst a hunch idk... also... s-snake fangs.. jeepers anddd..... snake tongue.... shiver me timberz

The wife ever. I had animation in mind more when I designed her, not like in a "How easy or hard would this be to animate" way. But I like to imagine when she's shocked her hair kind of fluffs out plus her actual fluff, when she's mad her bow turns into kind of horns and then her jacket expands like wings. Gave her a more hotel like outfit, she likes to work for fun (ew). Her socks are socks but she has some fluff under them she just tries to cover it up because she hates herself 🤪 (she doesn't hate her bigger body she actually feels much more comfortable chubby than when she was skinny with Adam. She was burdened with the weight of Adam's image of women... In this sorta rewrite she gained weight when she goes to the hotel because she's more happy. I'm dying I love chub Vaggie so much guys please) headcanon: she kind of likes fashion, it's like a fun hobby of hers to stitch together clothing and go out and buy clothes she'll never wear. She taught Charlie how to stitch and she SUCKS so you can jst see it on Charlie's pants.

Second outfits! Charlie's hotel uniform for. Well. Hotel stuff. She usually only wears it when new people come to the hotel, which.... isn't often, if at all. She still likes to keep it just in case. Also she goes really cartoonish when it happens, she does the looney tunes run and changes into her clothes in like 2 seconds. Can you see my vision? 😭😭

Vaggie's is in her armor. She has several pairs of armor lying around in the hotel in completely hidden spots. It's kind of surprising uhh. Yeah she wears it alot more than Charlie wears her alt uniform but still rare to find her in it. I don't get the whole thing with the exterminators and them not being able to fight according to Carmilla. Which is kinda stupid, I'm not gonna lie. So, instead of that, Vaggie has just let her guard down and has gotten much more comfortable in her surroundings so she feels like she doesn't need to fight anymore, she's just gotten rusty 's what I'm sayin. I have no idea how to draw armor. You can tell...

BABY CHARLIE!!! With the heads of my redesigns for Luci, Eve, and Lillith. Haha you still cant see them. Uhh, ill definitely finish the thing one day. Its not even that big of a project thing, i think i jst keep going to other drawings so im like not focusing on one thing lmao. Lucifer has heterochromia because he was cursed to forever be reminded of his betrayal. I only explained that because Charlie has it too, it's kind of a curse on the entire blood line where at least one eye is red. This is like. Slightly older Charlie than the baby Charlie in show? I jst wanted to put her in overalls cuz omg that's jst so cute ughhh 😭😭

I will be running a session of eat god for looney toons action. I was thinking about gags at 2am and have some questions. Where would the bit in roger rabbit of him getting out of the handcuffs be? What about when popeye socks someone a mile away? Lastly where does seduction resulting in heart eyes end up?

Thinking about traits i can only think of cute (puppy dog eyes sustained action?)

For arts i find it rly interesting there isnt one for sneaking on your tip toes and hiding behind objects

Another is when a character get serious and eat their spinach or booze and get really good at punching things or very strong and buff for a few minutes more than mighty might be needed

Another that i want your take on is like You refute the lie of typical social procedure which reflects the ability to radicly change tone from serious to funny or to calm or getting mad and riling people up i think of bugs distracting elmer and then they end up laughing forgeting about there animosity for a bit Feel free to split this all up. Broadly, quick sight gags don't require an Art – they're just the sorts of surreal details you might describe after rolling a successful test that's been enhanced by the expenditure of Obstinacy. The forthcoming 0.3 revision of Eat God clarifies what those effects actually do as follows:

When you spend Obstinacy in this way, you may optionally include surreal details in your description on a success, as the laws of God briefly loosen their grip on you. Such details might include bodily distortions, moving in impossible directions, or the literalisation of figures of speech. These manifestations won't allow you to accomplish anything you couldn't without them; however, with a suitable description, they may allow you to ignore effect penalties that would ordinarily apply to your Result. This can't push your final effect modifier higher than +0, and it's up to the GM how large a penalty – if any – your description offsets.

Offsetting the effect penalty for trying to hide somewhere it shouldn't really be practical to hide is a good example of what using a surreal description to ignore an effect penalty might look like in practice.

More pointedly, remember that player characters in Eat God are not literally Looney Tunes characters; they're sword-and-sorcery fantasy monsters whose powers just happen to operate according to cartoon logic. You're not obligated to describe their operation in terms of Looney Tunes tropes; like, you can if you want to, but don't let yourself get hung up on cases where that doesn't hold true.

With respect to punching things at a distance in particular, the forthcoming 0.3 revision of Eat God includes revisions to several Rebellious Arts (mostly powering them up a bit), including the following rewrite to the Art of Ubiquity:

You refute the lie of separation. For as long as this Art is sustained, you may act upon creatures and objects at Near or Far range as though you were at Touch range. You may act at Near range in this way as you wish; doing so at Far range causes the Art to end once that action is complete. Acting at a distance in this way doesn't cause you to move, but you suffer the consequences of your actions (marking Stress, etc.) as though you were actually within Touch range of whatever you acted upon. The GM is free to invent an explanation for this, but isn't obligated to do so.

It's not quite punching things from a mile away, but then, God-eaters are very small, so it's operating on a similar relative scale.

With respect to being supernaturally cute, that's just an off-label version of the Trait "Striking Mien".

Finally, regarding the proposed Art, the problem there is the same as with having an Art for breaking the fourth wall: making doing tonally incongruous shit a special ability with a defined cost creates an implicit obligation to stick to a consistent tone whenever that ability isn't in play, which probably isn't a reasonable expectation for many of the sorts of groups who would be interested in playing Eat God.

I was making an inspiration chart for a Looney Tunes AU, so I could better organize myself and be able to further develop what would happen in this AU, but I ended up giving up on continuing halfway through because I thought it was getting ugly and Tweety was the only one with the full chart on the end (I was going to do some Ducktales/Duckverse characters too).

I don't know if I'll ever actually go through and pull panels to illustrate this, but art design and framing has a huge impact on how sexist a comic feels, and that will impact whether I bother reading it, regardless of the writing.

Costume design is part of it. Does this fit the character's personality and history, and is it practical for what they do? Original Dick Grayson Robin fighting without any leg coverage is not practical, but it fits with his backstory. Helena Bertinelli Huntress, who is also a normal human fighting the mafia but with a very different backstory, fighting with no leg coverage and often compromised torso coverage is neither practical nor in character. So I'm more likely to read Huntress comics from eras where her costume does fully cover her than when it doesn't.

Within costuming, we also have "Does real clothing work this way, or did they just color over the body sketch?" For most superhero costumes that's fine because everyone is drawn that way (boob socks aside), but if it's supposed to be civilian clothes? I'm sorry, t-shirts don't work like that, and very few people tolerate their jeans giving them constant wedgies.

Beyond that though, there's framing. What is the focal point of the page? In what way does the layout lead your eye? Does the focal point flow serve the story, general comic book spectacle (check out this roundhouse kick! look at that robot's cool design! isn't this monster weird!), or is it blatantly a pin-up?

How is the character posed, and why?

Sometimes the camera angle and character pose giving us a butt or boob shot actually does make sense. Generally you can tell by asking "If this was a guy character, and we assume the artist is not attracted to guys, would this be drawn the same way?"

Unfortunately, in a lot of older comics (but not, I'm pretty sure, the earliest ones?) it's really blatantly obviously just for wank fodder. Not as a flow of action, not to set a scene's mood, it's just to titillate.

Titillation can be fun and has its place in entertainment...but so does hard science fiction, and I'm not coming to superhero comics for that, you know? Incidentally getting some cool science facts is different from the story bending itself into a pretzel to justify why this character operates under Real World Physics while this other character is basically a Looney Tune.

From what I've seen, superhero comics are getting a lot better about this! But it can still be a problem, and for fans getting into older works, it can be a genuine hurdle.

And with a backlog of thousands of stories? I'm not gonna spend time on the ones where the art skeeves me out, not matter how good I'm told the writing is.

i would have to say one of the most humiliating public moments of my life is me walking into a local bar that advertised weekly "come drink and draw in coloring books with us!! unleash your inner child :-)" events and it was. completely dead fucking empty except for the one bartender who gently explained to me , in my carebears shirt and looney tunes socks That their website is really outdated and they dont uh... do that anymore... sorry... and i was like oh ok... well i saw you guys have iced lattes can i at least do that. and she was like oh we dont do that anymore but if you want i can make you a french press and pour it over ice and that idea was just such a sad far cry from my original intent going there i awkwardly told her no thank you maybe ill be back some other day and left. and then havent come back. i reiterate that nobody was there except for the sole bartender and i think it is that level of personal intimacy that really made the whole thing much worse for me
