To a human's eye, absolutely nothing was out of the ordinary between Connor and the Lieutenant, however to an android it was almost like a blaring neon sign. And it could have been, with the trace amounts of thirium that lined the Lieutenants mouth whenever he and Connor returned from depositing evidence, or from a scene that (in theory) they could have finished collecting evidence from in much less time than was used.

Crowley sees the world like a snake does. By smell and heat primarily, movement and shapes secondary. He’s never actually seen Aziraphales face in a normal way, so with a small miracle, Aziraphale allows him to have normal vision as well. And Crowley can’t stop staring at him.
