Hi! I just saw your post about wanting stuff in your inbox, and I’m going with the “anything option” and sharing the story of how I got into Yuumori :P

So fun story: I actually bought a volume of Moriarty the Patriot before I watched the anime/began reading the manga. It was volume 7, with Moran on the cover. I’d heard of Moriarty the Patriot and the anime was on my watchlist, but I didn’t know any specifics about it.

So I was kinda pumped to see a ynm volume in a bookstore (especially since here in India, you could only get Naruto/Dragon Ball Z manga for a long time, the manga market has only grown in the past couple years or so). But the MAIN reason I bought the volume is because I fell heads over heels in love with Moran. I took ONE look at the cover and went, “that man belongs in my bedroom” and just picked it up without a second thought (with ample encouragement from my friend, who was with me).

I ended up watching Moriarty the Patriot about three months after I purchased volume 7, and oh boy was I hooked (the same friend who was with me had just watched it and was hounding me to watch ynm lol).

Fun fact: when I saw Moran on the cover, I actually thought it was Sherlock 🤡 I sent a picture of the book to my friend and she told me it was Moran lol. Ngl I was kinda disappointed but Moran is hot too (plus I ended up buying volume 2 as well later so it’s a win)

So yeah, that’s how I got into Yuumori! I hope you don’t mind me barging into your inbox outta the blue, but I was kinda eager to share this 😅

Frickin sweet, an ask

🐌 First is of course all my smelly friends, especially with the ever-growing pile of in-jokes and bizarre circumstances in which we find ourselves. Special mentions include me tormenting someone with videos of a monkey on a toilet and a server I help run which has an obsession with lizards (and all reptiles, but all are lizards to us)

🐌DVD collecting, movie watching, etc. I have a pretty sizable collection already but I plan on one day digitizing the whole thing. It's kinda skewed in favor of TV shows rather than movies lately, which is half the reason it's taking so long

🐌Animals. Cats are the actual, yknow, pet kind that comes to mind. Others include slugs (hence the bullet points), rats, sloths, pigs, and chickens

🐌 Lots of gaming-related stuff. I've still got my childhood PS2 kicking around, and I've digitized most of my library for it. Even dumped the BIOS of it myself. I emulate a lot but stick to stuff I actually own. I don't constrain myself to just one genre or anything but I was born and raised on FPSes and play a lot of strategy. If you ever want me to never shut the hell up, just ask me about Wolfenstein lmao

🐌Homesteading and everything associated. It's always fascinated me but I started getting big into it while I was stuck in a bit of a bad situation somewhat recently. I dream of one day having a big ol house in the middle of the Virginian wilderness with a couple cats, some pigs, chickens, and lots of plants, but it'll probably never come to be lol

Ummm well I guess the thing I'm trying most frantically to get done is my gift fic for the Twitter yuumori secret santa? ish? exchange thing? It's not secret and it's not for Christmas though 😂

The fic is due the 18th so you can see how well I'm doing. 😂

I do know what's happening. I even have some edits I know I need to make. I just need to sit down with it a bit longer and actually. DO it.

41. Any advice for new/beginning/young writers?

Read and write! Reading helps you see things you like so you know what kinds of things you might want to play with. Writing is always practice, even if you throw it out in the end. (But I'm going to bad with advice about throwing things out I recycle more than I should in my writing probably.)

But most of all, have fun and write what you like. I think that writing is way more satisfying when it's something you want to think about and not something you think you ought to be thinking about.

49. Which character would you most want to be friends with, if they were real?

Oh damn. This is a cool question. ngl I didn't read all these before I posted it. Also I kinda get the gambit on this since I'm a fanwriter

And also. Interestingly enough I think I'm going to say either Marco (One PIece) or Trafalgar Law (One PIece) and not a yuumori character. Marco I think would be a fun friend, Law would be a *cool* friend. Law would be resourceful and grounded and I think he just is good friend material. Marco has like "not stoned stoner" vibes that I think would just be fun to be around.

I love love love love them to bits (and I firmly believe that Lakshmana was not a bad husband for leaving Urmila behind for fourteen years, that she loved her sister has much as he loved his brother and that she wanted him to be able to serve them as best she could [this is because I don’t want a Urmila to have been miserable]).
