Started on the sixth of January and planned to be finished on the fourteenth, but landed up not doing that. Somewhere on the sixteenth, I basically said "haha whoops" and pumped out twenty panels. According to Procreate, it took 15 hours and 37 minutes to finish Panels 1-10; 27 hours and 15 minutes on Panels 11-20; and 34 hours and 8 minutes for Panels 21-30.
In total, I have no idea. I just know it took some serious time.
Unlike with She's Gone, I wrote a script. Well, all I wrote was dialogue and some minor actions for Panels 5-23, though lines were changed "in post." Everything else was by the seat of my pants. However, I can say for sure that I was planning on ending it with N being hopeful, but all I had room for was him crying. He cannot catch a break.
(also to those who suspected uzi was still in there, guess you were right all along.)
Of course you do. How could you not. But do you ever think about this exchange specifically:
“You’re not Adrien!”
Because Adrien is sweet, and forgiving, and kind. In fact, kindness is his defining quality — Marinette herself made sure of it:
“I’ll never tell another boy I love him before I know everything about him! Whether he’s kind or not, thoughtful, what he does outside of school and with who… I’ll know everything.”
But.
Do you ever think about Adrien’s development in S4 and especially S5?
Overtime, he has grown resentful of a system that exploits him relentlessly.
Of the people he gave countless chances to, only to be let down over and over again.
Of the web of lies and half-truths he constantly finds himself tangled into. A web that is only growing bigger, stickier, and trickier to escape.
And the Senticousins. Do you ever think about them?
Do you ever think about how they are each other’s reflection, identical and opposites all at once?
“When you bring a living being into this world, you have a responsibility towards them. Your duty is to protect them, love them, help them discover the true meaning of their existence. To deprive them of that… is monstruous.”
“To have a child is to help them blossom, to grow, to find themselves and to be free!”
Do you ever think about their opposite character arcs in S5 — one learning mercy and trust, the other developing a rage so strong it could destroy the world?
Do you ever think that if Felix can now have this exchange with his mum, and mean it:
“They’re all monsters!”
“Not all of them.”
Then there’s nothing stopping Adrien from saying this:
the tiny consistencies in fantasy high make me so happy like. fabian's throwaway line in sophomore year about riz always picking up immediately and then riz answering his facetime instantly in junior year. "I don't eat worms!" from freshman year. fig always destroying her crystal when anything goes wrong. like. they're so.
in light of tedtrent becoming so real, im also jumping on the tedtrent epilogue 😊
there's just no way ted wouldn't keep in touch with the others (and have weekly zoom meetings just like in the christmas special) and I just love the thought of the whole team having reunions once in a while.
and going back to trent's arc in s3, the sunflowers conversation, "And your daughter?" "She's never been happier." I think it could go the same for ted.. we've never really properly saw how henry felt about his dad being in london, it's always other people that told ted his son misses him, who's to say henry would rather see his dad happy because that in turn would make him happy too? he was there to win the whole thing, right? I just know ted’s story isn’t done yet when he still hasn’t learned to let others take care of him in return and who else to pair him with than the man who blew up his career because a man was nice to him (and also because they were so. so cruel for the fakeout tedbecca scenes for that finale) 🥺
I'm no writer so just pretend these are snapshots of a slow burn fic where ted visits london for their team reunion and slowly realizes that trent has a crush on him and they kiss about it 💛
Silver regaining his sass; one of the few people to make Blaze let out a laugh
JOKING AND TOUCHING
A JOURNEY OF SELF-DISCOVERY WITH THE BAE clearly setting up a side-story starring Blaze and Silver unlocking their memories of Sonic 06, of course (jk i wish)
My guess is this date trip is meant to keep Silver and Blaze busy while the comic focuses on other things. Then whenever they return, they'll be much closer.
"She hadn't come on purpose; the scrap of black meat had asked for it - the chain of a kiss: the ice that burnt the flesh of the mouth that had stuck to the mouth that was frozen." (NtN, 472)
"Within the incinerator, [Pyrrha] looked at you ... There was no bloom of necromantic powers, nor move to save [her]self: the third saint to serve the King Undying stared at you with something very like helplessness, lying there with [her] heart exploded, a man before the flame ... It was the first time, as a Lyctor, exploding such tonnage of bone into an incinerator's flame, that you looked upon the limit of your power: and that limit still stretched so far out into the goddamn distance that it was out of your sight." (HtN, 289-290)
"The sky was the ceiling, and the ceiling was a decrepit room in Canaan House, veiled with the hot white breath from her own throat. When the world finally landed its long wound-up sucker punch, a tangled howl came out of her throat, and she was shocked that she was able to make such a noise. Memory hit Harrowhark Nonagesimus with the inexorable gravity of a satellite sucked from orbit, flinging itself to die on the surface of its bounded planet; the world hit her like a fall ... she was not shocked, after all. She was consumed. She was the kindling for the arson taking place in her heart, her brain dry wedding for the flames, her soul so much incandescent gas." (HtN, 3879-380)
"Harrow floundered, not toward the shore, but to the island in the centre - to the black mausoleum of glass and ice ... She hauled herself to shore and lay there, skin crawling, frozen half-solid, shivering and numb in that strange heat predating hypothermic death. And yet Harrow felt no pain; she felt nothing, in fact, but a welcome sense of homecoming - the strange, tiny, pleased familiarity of finding an old book once beloved, or some other antique of childhood ... The ice felt kind and warm; the stone gave as though it were cotton. Harrow lay where the Body had lain, perfectly at her ease, perfectly comfortable" (HtN, 503 - 504)
I need to know if Scar is the Watchers' favorite and they like to stir up crap with him, or if they're pissed that he defies the order they set by holding something from a previous life game so deep in his memory
Or if they're just pissed at Grian who, to his own dismay, buried himself into someone's memory when he's the only one who's supposed to remember past lives. And if the Watchers are using Scar to purposefully punish and mock the Grian who was only ever meant to watch. Or if it's all Scar, to consciously show that he hasn't forgotten and he knows Grian hasn't either. What if the Watchers (who believe to be manipulating him), like so many others have, see him as an oblivious fool, and what if Scar plays into that notion yet again as one of his greatest strengths
I'm really grasping at crumbs here guys, but Nandor saying "we can survive quite easily without you" to Guillermo and then IMMEDIATELY saying "wait, what?!" when Guillermo just agrees with that statement and doesn't argue
he clearly WANTED Guillermo to argue that point (or at least disagree with it)
he's indirectly admitting they (meaning he) cannot efficiently survive without Guillermo
