hi! ive listened to some of chonny jash's songs but did not realize that there was really a story? Or i vaguely knew but didn't have the time/energy to get into it and with the release of the bidding animation ive realized theres like a bajillion awesome animations and art and i want to get into cccc but have no clue how. also why does soul have a trident.
OH man!
The story of CCCC has an overall seeming narrative, but much of it's smaller points are interpretive due to Jash himself leaving it up to fans of the album. But! Overall it kind of goes like:
-Jash or, what most people call Whole, splits as due to mental dissonance and waning mental health. (Time Machine Reprise).
- Whole fades into Soul (End of TMR into Dream) and from there its Mucka Blucka as a sort of introductory song. The recap for a story you have or haven't heard yet.
- (The entire album is a time loop! Which is a big metaphor for the cycles of mental health and illness people go through.)
- From there its the section called "Cacophony" which starts off with Soul, but eventually it turns to Heart and Mind + their fighting and inability to see or listen to one another or their points of view. Of course, as Logic and Emotion, they both have valid ideas or opinions, but believe themselves so contradictory that the other must be evil or out to get them.
- Heart attempts to shoot Mind, as referred to in Ruler of Everything. Literal or Metaphorical as you take this, it is seemingly symbolic for an attempt at one's own life if not self sabotage. If not then both.
- The rest up until Soul Eclectic is sort of just the Mind and Heart fighting and their own personal views each on the situation.
- Soul in The Soul Eclectic reaches his breaking point. Threatening to kill them all (A more direct attempt at suicide)
- Mind and Heart in the subsequent songs decide to get their shit together.
- (Two Wuv) Soul realizes that not only can they be happier now but that trying to force themselves to conform to society's ideas of mental health or belief or love is just plainly unbeneficial. Sort of a song about unapologetically being yourself.
- Welcome To Tally Hall is a tribute to Tally Hall themselves more than anything.
- This transfers into Concord soon after! Concord is Whole or Jash by himself, though many of the songs seem to carry themes from Cacophony in them. Self sabotage, disagreement, importance placed on the wrong thing, the idea that no one person is better off than another. It concludes with Taken for a Ride. Which is also sort of CJ's epic "im burnt out as hell" song towards the end. But exaggerated to my knowledge for lyrical shenanigans.
That is CCCC as neutrally told as best as possible. I highly recommend forming your own ideas on it, but I'd be happy to also discuss more in depth my opinion on each song should you or anyone else express interest!
Getting into the Trident: The fandom took the metaphor of "Tridential Sovreignty" and "This trident he formed (found? Lyrics.) is both weapon and motive" and said "Soul's got a trident" to which Jash responded with "Absolutely yes he does now" Same with the crown most people put Mind in, and that is referenced in the "Trident, Crown and Blindfold" line.
Soul really did get noose imagery, a trident and a mask. All Heart n Mind got were a blindfold and crown. Lmao
Though Heart is also commonly drawn with wings. Which is semi-canonical according to album covers. I choose to ignore them because I don't particularly have an attachment to the idea!
Getting into the fandom itself, I can recommend looking around for the Chonny Jash Fan Server (CJFS) Discord link. But it can be extremely intimidating and even I just stick to discussion and one other thread channel. (Sides from my au channels which pop up every once a month or so).
Important note is that only Tally Hall covers have to do with HMS. Any of Jash's other music (of which I highly recommend, always) is unrelated. There is also a fan QnA somewhere that was done like a year ago now which has some neat answers in it.
I, again, am happy to go into my interpretations of HMS and the music as a whole but skdmsm saved you the reading hopefully should that be undesired!

Pairing: Benedict Bridgerton x fem!reader
Summary: While the other ladies have grown with the mindset of marrying and having children, you, as the daughter of a man who wanted a son, grew up being both. You learnt how to embroider, play the pianoforte, fence and manage the estate. However, there were some things that not even the Duke of Burgundy could do, so after he passed and you thought there was nothing left for you, you decided to move to London for a while and go to the Royal Academy of Art.
Nothing was going to keep you from what you wanted, and you would do whatever it takes: you would lie to everyone, you would live to death, you would pretend to be a man. You had a plan and it would be a piece of cake for you. But again, when has something that she wants and should not do easy for a woman? Especially when a man like Benedict Bridgerton gets in the way in more ways than one.

"Mr. Bridgerton, welcome!" Lord Carrington exclaimed. "Lady Y/N is finishing getting ready."
"Of course, Lord Carrington, I will wait for her."
He nodded. "I hope everything goes very well on your ball. We, unfortunately, might not be able to attend as my wife has fallen sick."
"Oh, that's a shame," Benedict empathized. "I wish for her to recover very soon, and as for the ball, do not worry. I will tell my Mother."
"Thank you, son."
Benedict smiled at Lord Carrington's words.
"Antoinette, dépêche-toi !" your yells could be heard from the sitting room, making Benedict smile fondly. "We will be late!"
"My Lady, this dress is not very easy to put on!"
Lord Carrington laughed. "One could never fathom a lady and her maid treating each other like sisters, but Y/N certainly treats Antoinette like one."
"She proves to us every day that she is another kind of lady," Benedict noted. "That is probably why she and my sister Eloise tally as well as they do. These two were cut from the same cloth."
"It would be unbearable to have two of those under the same roof," He smiled. "Thankfully, my wife is not the defiant kind, she would be similar enough to Y/N otherwise."
"I am certain Lady Y/N is not that bad."
"Not at all," Lord Carrington rushed. "You will never have one boring day beside that woman. She is quite the artist, any would be surprised by her talents; and her particular ability to spend an entire day at the modiste. She returns with at least a dress each time she goes, and is argumentative enough to contradict the jeweler," he added. "I promise you will have the perfect wife by your side if you keep her."
"Well, I intend to."
He curved his lips. "My wife and I have known her since before she was born… She holds a very special place in our hearts, and we wish for nothing but the best for her. Louisa and I, we are glad it is you."
"Thank you, Lord Carrington."
"You know, Mr. Bridgerton?" He began, looking at Benedict right in the eye. "The environment that she grew up in made her the woman she is today. It took her father a while to… take a look at her, he wanted a son but ended up with the living image of his wife. When he realized that she was going to be the one to take care of everything when he passed, that's when he decided to be the father she needed... And he used to spend hours teaching her how to ride a horse and then he would talk about their home while she painted the sunset. They traveled the world together and were everything to one another, so… take care of her."
Benedict frowned at certain words of his but nodded nevertheless.
"I am here!" you exclaimed running downstairs. "Good morning, Mr. Bridgerton!"
"Good morning, Lady Y/N," Benedict grinned at the use of names while in front of Lord Carrington. "Shall we?"
"Yes, we shall," You accepted his arm. "I am starving and excited for this trip."
He laughed. "Goodbye, Lord Carrington."
"Bye, my Lord!" You smiled. "Take good care of Lady Carrington for me, will you?"
Lord Carrington laughed. "I will."
Once you were finally inside your carriage, you looked at Antoinette.
"Did you tell Théo and Laurent that we will have a long trip today?" you asked and Antoinette nodded. "So, are they rested and are the horses alright?"
"They are, my Lady. There is nothing for you to worry about."
You smiled and looked at Benedict in front of you.
"You look most ravishing in that teal blue dress." he commented.
"I believed my color was apricot orange."
"In all honesty, apricot was the same color you wore the day we met," he reminded you. "Therefore, it holds a very special spot in my brain."
"I didn't remember that," you confessed, feeling warmth rushed into your cheeks. "Thank you for saying that, I am glad that both teal and apricot are my colors."
Benedict grinned. "To be fair, every color is your color. You look equally dazzling in all of them."
"That is, perhaps, because you have not seen me in red just yet. That would be your favorite."
"Very well, you have me looking forward to it."
"Your wishes will be satisfied during the ball." you replied with a suggestive smile.
"I cannot wait, then."
Soon, you arrived at the Bridgerton House, being received by all the siblings and Lady Bridgerton.
"Y/N!" Eloise called you before you joined the rest of the family for breakfast. "I need to talk to you about something."
You frowned. "Of course, Eloise. Can it wait until we are in Aubrey Hall or at least until after breaking the fast?"
She sighed. "Yes. Okay."
You and Eloise went to the dining room and sat next to each other.
"Uh, I hear you are to return to France soon, are you not?" Anthony questioned.
"Yes, I must go back. There are issues at home only I can resolve," you replied. "There is also a visit from the Americas waiting for me."
Anthony looked at Benedict. "You are coming back to London, I assume."
"I am not sure," you said, catching his telepathic conversation with Benedict that was surely about you. "Unless I am given a reason to, I will not. At least, not anytime soon."
"That is unfortunate," Anthony added. "Just know you will always be welcomed by us."
"Thank you," you replied. "Likewise."
Lady Bridgerton sighed. "And this visit from the Americas… Can we know who it is?"
"Oh, my Grandfather," you answered. "He was shocked by my absence and wishes to see me."
"He should come here," Lady Bridgerton proposed. "I have never met him before, I would be delighted to."
"I know, but he just survived a weeks-long trip, so I do not think it is proper for him to travel more," You wrinkled your nose. "You could always join me and spend a few weeks in Versailles until I leave for the Americas with him."
Benedict almost choked on his food. "Are you traveling overseas?!"
You hummed. "I will unless I have a reason not to. Or a companion, too, would be very appreciated."
Eloise looked at you with her eyes wide open, while Daphne and Francesca looked at each other hiding a smirk at your suggestion. Gregory and Hyacinth pretended not to be aware of the conversation but gave each other funny glances. Lady Bridgerton hid her laugh as Benedict, Anthony, and Colin shared surprised stares.
The eldest Bridgerton was well aware that his brother was flirting with you. It seemed very innocent and even encouraged by him at the beginning, but once he heard his Mother talk so highly of you and after having met you, Anthony knew it was time for a serious conversation: Benedict had only met you a couple of weeks previous and already decided to court you? What were his intentions? Did he not think it was an awful idea to marry someone he did not know well enough? Was he aware of the responsibility that would fall on his shoulders once he married you?
The answer to his question was found in that glint of doubt that shone in Benedict's blue eyes, and Anthony knew he had to make his brother give up on marrying you.
Since, of course, Anthony believed it was his responsibility to dictate the future of each of his siblings.
What he did not know was that the reason behind Benedict's doubt was way worse than whatever his fate marrying you and destroying an entire region would be. The remedy was worse than the illness in this case because it involved his brother having some sort of relationship with another man. Particularly his future fiancée's —fictional— brother. And Benedict, clearly, did not want Anthony or anybody else to ever know about it.
"I could always go with you! An adventure would be quite enriching." Eloise intervened.
"I think that is a wond-" Lady Bridgerton began but was interrupted by her eldest son.
"Do not even mention it, Sister," Anthony threatened. "You cannot travel abroad with a stranger."
The dining room fell silent, and Lady Bridgerton was about to interfere and scold his son for treating you that way when you replied.
You raised your eyebrow. "Did I miss something, Lord Bridgerton? Or what have I done to cause the sudden change of attitude toward me?"
"Brother…" Benedict gave him a pointed look.
"Not at all, I just cannot help but realize that you are very insistent on marrying my brother."
"Anthony, stop."
"Mr. Bridgerton, I do not need you to defend me," you told Benedict, then looking at Anthony in an attempt to hide how offended you were. "I have never, not even once, approached your brother myself, Lord Bridgerton. As you should be aware, a woman is not allowed to. I am not desperate, it is just that I must return to France, I do not need anything from you. In case you haven't considered the possibility of me loving your brother, I could easily point it out for you: marriages based on a love match do exist and I was hoping to have one of those for myself. I believe I could find that with Benedict, I did not know you were the one to make decisions for him," You stood up, dedicating him the deadliest glance your eyes could make. "Bon appétit."
You did not hesitate nor looked back, and made your way out of the dining room with the purpose of returning to the Carrington Mansion.
However, Benedict stopped you in the middle of your way to the front door.
"Y/N, wait!"
You stopped with a sigh, trying to regain composure. "What can I do for you, Mr. Bridgerton?"
"Don't call me that, please," he pleaded, taking you by your arm and leading the way to the bureau. "And pay my brother no mind, I beg you, he… Marriage is a very sensitive topic of conversation lately, especially for him. He did not mean to say any of that or to offend you."
"You do not have to apologize in the name of your brother and I do not care for him or his personal issues, Benedict," you answered. "I love you, alright? I do. And I can think of at least ten respectable gentlemen in London, forty more across Europe, and a hundred all around the world who wish to marry me and about whom I couldn't care less when you are the one that I want. I do not want to settle for any of them, I do not care if it is a prince, a king, a duke, a count, a viscount, a lord, whatever, I only want you. If you love me, too, tell me at once or I will go back to France with no reason to return to London."
"I love you, too."
"Think it through, then," you demanded. "If you marry me, you must live in France with me, Benedict. You will have to leave your life here behind for me and while I love you so, I cannot ask you that."
"Y/N, I would follow you to the ends of the Earth, you hear me? I love you like I never thought possible," he whispered. "Don't leave, come to Aubrey Hall with us. Anthony will make it up to you, of that I am sure."
You looked around, noticing you were alone.
His eyes met yours so passionately that it hurt to even break the contact, so you just cupped his face, caressing his features fondly.
And you kissed him as if the world was crumbling down around you.
"I do not care about Anthony, Benedict," you muttered. "He could disown you and still you would have four palaces at your disposal if you stand by me, you would lack nothing, nor would our children or the children of our children or their great-grandchildren. I will be by your side until my very last breath and I will love you through Heaven and Hell. This is your choice."
He kissed you again, this time more urgently and lovingly.
You observed him as he pulled away, looking perfect as ever in his Prussian blue suit with a steel and burgundy waistcoat and a matching cravat of the latter color.
"You are the most enchanting man I have met in my life," you confessed. "And I have met many princes."
Benedict laughed. "You mean to tell me that I am more enchanting than a prince?"
You clicked your tongue. "I meant that you are more enchanting than all those rich, handsome princes and the nobles and the explorers and every man I have known altogether."
He kissed you again, smiling throughout the dance of your yearning lips.
"You are the most endearing, interesting, and ravishing woman I have ever encountered," he complimented you. "You are the only woman who has called him out in front of a crowd apart from Miss Sharma."
"Ah, he must hate me now," you noted. "I will get over it."
"But he will be my best man!"
You shook your head. "No ring, no wedding innuendos."
"Well, no wedding, no kissing," Benedict added. "Two can play that game."
"That is actually very sensible from you, Mr. Bridgerton. Can you imagine what would happen if someone was to catch us with our hands in the bag?!"
He chortled. "What does that even mean?"
"It means if someone sees us in this compromising situation: with rouge all over our faces, hair a mess, and… your cheeks are turning the color of the wine!"
"Then, meet me tonight in the garden, my Lady," he proposed. "When everyone is fast asleep."
"I never said I would still go to Aubrey Hall."
"My dear Mother would be devastated if you rejected her invitation. Not to mention Eloise, who was arguing with me about how I should not keep you to myself the whole time as she needed her friend."
"Meet me at midnight, then, Mr. Bridgerton."

You did not exchange a single word with Anthony for the rest of the day. Not when you arrived at Aubrey Hall, not when you declined their invitation to play Pall Mall, and the siblings —minus Anthony— and Miss Sharma, insisted on you to. Not during tea or dinner. Not ever.
It was now an hour until midnight, and you were on your way to Eloise's room.
"Finally!" she exclaimed in a whisper when you were in front of her door. "I thought you had forgotten."
You shook your head and entered her room. "No, I just had to wait for Antoinette to fall asleep so I could come."
"Alright, that does not matter," she replied, making space for you to sit on her bed. "I have a problem I do not know how to solve."
"If there is any way I can help you, do not doubt I will."
"I know," she muttered. "That is why I am asking you this, I cannot appeal to anybody else."
"Of course, Eloise, tell me."
"The Queen believes I am Lady Whistledown."
You gasped. "What?!"
"I know!"
"Are you?"
Eloise shook her head with a frown. "No!"
"Alright," you replied. "What should we do?"
"She threatened me. My family. I do not know what to do."
"We must find out who Lady Whistledown is and expose her."
"How?! That is what I have tried to do for so long, and-"
"Shh… It is alright, everything will be alright, Eloise," you tried to calm her down. "What if you tell her who Lady Whistledown is, except that it is someone who does not exist?"
"She will find out and it will be worse!"
You nodded. "Tomorrow night, at the ball, we will spread different rumors to every possible Lady Whistledown and see which got printed and tell the Queen it was her."
"The rumors will be spread, how will we even know?"
"Because she would want to spread the one no one else told her about in order to have one novelty! We will find out who it is, then, and tell the Queen."
Eloise sighed. "And what will happen to the real Lady Whistledown?"
"That is not your problem, Eloise… The Queen threatened your family, and they are the ones you must worry about."
"Y/N, could you… not tell anyone?"
Your expression softened. "It will be our secret, El."
"Thank you."
"Always," You smiled and stood up to look at the window. "You know? You should ignore Anthony and come to France with me and Benedict, I hope. It will help you clear your mind… we could tell your Mama that you will find a French husband there; instead, I could take you everywhere!"
"Benedict, you said?" she mocked you.
"Yes. All proofs lead me to believe he will propose before I leave," you answered. "He said that I should not be indifferent to Anthony's hate because he would be his best man. That should be enough."
She made an annoyed grin. "You will marry my brother?"
"A lady can only hope," you said, noticing how Benedict was already waiting for you in the garden. "I should head back to my room, Eloise… We can talk specifics tomorrow."
"Of course. Good night."
"Sleep well."
You practically ran to the garden until you met him standing there, waiting for you with that grin of his. "Ready, my Lady?"
"For what?" you asked, taking the hand he was offering.
"Ready to be mine for a night?"
"Always."
Benedict took your hand in his and drove you to the backyard. "Would you like to fence? I could teach you."
"Oh, Benedict, darling… I have been fencing since I was seven!"
"Yes, of course," he said sarcastically. "Me as well, and allow me to remind you that I am way more experienced than you since I am older."
"Moi, j'adore un rêveur !" you exclaimed.
He gasped, faking offense. "Are you calling me dreamy?!"
"I am indeed, dearest."
"Tu es la femme de mes rêves," Benedict said with a grin. "See? It is not that difficult to compliment others!"
"Ooh, la la, Monsieur Bridgerton… si romantique !" you teased him, getting closer to him. "I will destroy you."
"That sounds most tempting…" he whispered, turning around to get the pair of fencing swords he had left there earlier that day. "This one is for you."
You took it and gave him a look. "The dress might make it difficult for me to unleash my prime level."
He laughed. "I will go easy on you."
"No, do it as if I were one of your brothers."
"Are you sure about that? We are very competitive."
You clicked your tongue, taking a defensive position. "En garde, dearest."
"I will destroy you!" Benedict exclaimed and you chuckled as he hit his sword against yours.
And you started fencing.
You could admit you were having the time of your life, all laughter and you winning more than half of the rounds.
"It is because I have been going easy on you."
You scoffed. "I told you not to!"
"One more, all or nothing at all."
"Only if you wish to lose."
"Confident much?" he questioned. "Alright, how about… a bet?"
"A bet?" You frowned. "What could you possibly bet?"
"I win… you dance with the man of my choice at the ball," Benedict stated. "And I shall not be gentle."
You hummed, then. "Very well, Benedict. I win, you come to France with me despite Anthony's objections"
"Oh, you are serious."
"I always am, dearest," you replied. "En garde !"
You began the final round, and it was, probably, the most competitive you have been a part of.
Benedict started running as he saw you close to winning, and you had no choice but to raise your skirt and chase him down. "That is against the rules!"
"We never said anything about rules!"
"You said fencing, so we must follow the rules of fencing!"
"Once you catch me we can begin to talk about rules!"
You got closer to him, taking advantage of how Benedict lowered his speed to give you a much more fair chance to reach him. "You run too fastly and this dress is making it impossible for me to-"
Benedict, who had turned around to see you complain, felt you fall harshly on top of him as you stumbled.
Both laughed at the situation, the fencing swords long forgotten.
"You look precious under the moonlight," he noted, seeing how the light illuminated your face slightly, and how your short hair fell messy, covering both your faces like a curtain with how close you were to one another. "You certainly do."
You could feel the way your stomach fluttered at his compliments and how flushed your face was. "Shall we call this a tie?"
His hands put your hair behind your ear and then fell on your neck, driving you impossibly closer until your lips met.
"I believe you mentioned something about no kisses, Mr. Bridgerton," you mentioned once your lips parted. "Not that I am complaining."
Benedict kissed you again, this time more urgently. You could taste the craving in his lips and feel the need in his touch.
"You will not believe half the things I see inside my head," he confessed, standing up and helping you stand up, too. "Your lips are my addiction, Lady Y/N, and I long for you every second that we are apart."
"I wish to never be apart from you," you whispered, taking his hand in yours. "I wish to grow older with your hand holding mine and to watch you sleep every night."
He smiled and kissed you once more. "I love you."
The next kiss was better. Benedict pushed you against the nearest tree and you felt as if your soul would leave your body any second at how… unearthly the experience was.
An unfamiliar warmth took over your entire being, and the need for more would not leave you breathing in peace. More, more, more… your body chanted, but more of what?
"I feel…" you breathed out when he left your mouth and went to your neck, his hands holding your waist tightly against him. "What is this that I am feeling?"
He grinned. "Have you never been taught about this?"
"About what?" you asked with a whimper.
"My, my, Lady Y/N, anyone would think that with that know-it-all attitude of yours, you were aware of all the ways two people can make the other feel when they are alone." Benedict smirked.
"What does that mean?" You sighed, feeling his hand go to the bare part of your back and caress you there.
"Do you trust me?"
You nodded eagerly. "I do."
"Alright," He kissed you tenderly on your cheek. "This is something important, so you must be sure about it before we proceed."
"How so?"
"Because it is something that a lady like you only does once she marries."
You made a confused grin. "Like kissing?"
He chuckled. "It is… more than that. However, it is related to kissing. You kiss the other person when you do it."
"So it is like… advanced kissing?"
"Yes, you could say that," Benedict laughed. "It requires us both to be nude."
Your heart started beating faster and you felt your cheeks warm. "Nude? Like in the paintings?"
"Just like that," he replied. "And we would touch each other. I promise you that I will make it the most enjoyable experience if you allow me."
"Would you enjoy it as well?"
"You have no idea," Benedict smiled, kissing your forehead. "But this is not something you should take lightly, so you must be certain you want to do it."
"Why do people do this?"
Benedict pursed his lips. "Two reasons, actually."
"Two?" you questioned.
"Firstly, and that is why ladies like you only do it after they are married, so the woman can be with child."
Your eyes widened. "I do not want to be with child yet!"
"I know," he conceded. "That is why we will be careful..."
"Could there- could there be consequences?"
He nodded, stroking your hair. "Only if someone sees us."
"Then we must hide somewhere to make sure we are not to be seen." you answered surely.
"Are you completely sure you want to do this, then?"
"I am. I want to do it."
"Shall we go to my bedchambers?"
"Yes."
You kissed again, this time shortly. "You cannot tell a soul about this."
"You know I will never tell." you said, taking his hand.
Benedict drove you silently through the hallways of Aubrey Hall until you arrived at his bedchambers.
He opened the door and invited you in. "Are you completely sure, then, my dear?"
"I am," you answered. "Could you call me something other than dear? Everyone calls me dear: the Carringtons, your Mother…"
"Mmm… does my heart sound good?" he wondered between laughter.
"It is perfect, mon cœur." you confirmed, taking a look around his room.

"Shall we?"
You nodded in front of him and waited for him to do the first move.
So Benedict kissed you softly on the lips and then pulled apart. He spun you so your back was facing his front, and started kissing your neck while playing with the buttons of your dress. "May I?"
"Yes…"
He unbuttoned the dress and soon it was discarded on the cold floor. Your bare skin got goosebumps under his burning, delicate touch. Then, he undid your corset and put it away, driving his hands to your now-uncovered breasts.
You shook under his touch, resting your head on his chest as his hands did wonders on your breasts. "It is cold, why do I feel so warm… there?"
"Do you like this?"
You nodded.
"That is why, my heart… Now, do you like what we are doing?"
"I do," you answered truthfully. More, more, more… you heard again the chants of your body and decided to indulge. "Is there any way you could give me more?"
"More of what?"
"I do not know, I just… I want more." you hurried to say.
"Anything you please," Benedict left your breasts unattended to put his hands on the sides of your undergarments. "May I?"
You nodded, and he complied.
The cold air meeting your warmth was the first feeling you met with, and the way you shuddered wasn't familiar in the slightest.
"Is this normal?" you wondered while raising each leg from the floor so he could take off your undergarments while kissing your bare back.
"Is what normal, my heart?"
"It is too hot and I feel something… Can I touch it there?"
He breathed out with eagerness. "Yes, you can. Come here, spin around, my love."
You did as he told you and with the most flushed expression, you put your right hand between your thighs, meeting with an unusual, heated moisture there. A loud sigh left your lips. "Why is it wet?" you asked, feeling embarrassed without knowing why.
"It is normal, you mustn't worry," he answered, taking your hand in his and sliding your wet fingers into his mouth. He released them, kissing your knuckles before letting go, fighting the ache that hardened between his thighs. "That means that you are enjoying yourself, just like I am."
You cleared your throat. The sight, though unfamiliar, awakened many inexplicable feelings of intimacy you couldn't quite decipher. "Are you enjoying yourself?"
"Very much." Benedict said, kissing your cleavage.
"But I have not touched you yet and you are still clothed."
"But I am seeing you, touching you, and kissing you," he lowered his kisses to the valley between your breasts. "I enjoy that. I enjoy sharing this with you."
A shaky breath escaped from your lips as your hands went to his shoulders for support. "Really?"
Benedict hummed. "It is most pleasant, as I have been told, when you do it with someone you love."
You let out a soft chuckle at his words. Looking down, you met with his blue eyes and sweet smile, and when you saw his burgundy tie, you were more conscious of the fact that he was still fully clothed.
"I wish to see you." you demanded, untying his cravat delicately.
He shuddered at your command. "Anything."
He stood up now and started unbuttoning his waistcoat. His white linen blouse, with the sleeves already rolled up, came next; his black trousers followed, and soon, it was the two of you wearing as much as you did when you were brought to this tempting world.
Your finger went to his torso, focusing on his beauty marks and connecting them like constellations. Benedict exhaled with difficulty, long gone the ease one must have for having breathed their whole life, his hands resting restlessly on your hips.
"I have never seen a man quite like you," You left a soft kiss on his chest. His forehead met yours and his eyes remained closed. "Dishonor me, Mr. Bridgerton."
That seemed to be his cue, a trigger for his wildest desires because when you least expected it, he pushed you against the wall and kissed you as if he fed off of it.
Lust, just like time, turned the daylight heavens in his eyes into the dark midnight sky you loved under.
He carried you, making your legs wrap around his body and your skin merge with his, never not kissing you, not even for the briefest second.
"I am desperately in need, Benedict. Please, do something!" you begged, holding onto his arms, feeling his smirk against your neck like a kiss. "Something, anything."
Suddenly, the tip of his fingers met your core. You flinched at the intrusion but did nothing other than moan his name. "Something like this?"
He started drawing circular shapes on you: slow like torture, steady like a heartbeat, sweet like honey.
"Oh," you moaned. "What are you doing to me? Why do I… feel like this? Oh, God…"
Benedict grinned. "Are you enjoying it, my heart?"
"Yes." you replied, breathing quickly and closing your eyes. Instinctively, you spread your legs further to give him better access.
"Look at me," he told you. "Every second, you shall be looking at me."
You nodded, opening your eyes, squirming under his touch. He explored you, he loved you, he made you feel so good.
"Benedict, what is…" you whined, moving your hips at the same rhythm as his fingers. "I need more."
He kissed your forehead and increased the speed of his movements, putting one of his fingers inside you.
It was a sensation you could have never imagined, it was better than what you expected when Benedict promised you would enjoy this. You felt the need to scream his name, but knowing Colin's bedchambers were just next door, you decided to cover your mouth with your hands.
His forehead was pressed to yours and your eyes locked to each other's while your body exploded in a wave of delight, his hands didn't leave you unattended until he was certain you were done.
"What was that?" you asked him, tone a little tired.
Benedict kissed you. "That was a little bit of me dishonoring you."
"Clearly," You laughed. "Does it feel similar for you?"
"Well, it works a little differently for men."
"How come?" You frowned, getting closer to him and feeling something hard pressed against your thigh. "Wait, is that you?"
Benedict shuddered. "Can I show you?"
"Yes, please."
He nodded. "Alright, this might hurt a little, so I will need you to say no if you are not certain. You must be comfortable at all times and should not feel obliged to do something you do not want to, alright?"
"Will it hurt for long?"
"Only at the beginning, my heart, though I promise I will do my best to make sure it does not hurt," he promised. "Then, it will feel good."
"I would like to try."
"Remember to stop me if you wish to stop."
"I will," You kissed him gently. "I want you to feel good. Please, teach me how."
Benedict smiled. "You could touch me like I touched you."
"Okay," you agreed. You kissed him, and your body got closer to his. Your hands traveled his arms softly, then his chest, then going lower. Once your fingertips reached under his belly button, he flinched. "Did I hurt you?"
"On the contrary," you whispered. "Continue if you wish."
Your fingers went lower until you stumbled upon his cock, and Benedict's breath hitched. "Can I… touch you there?"
"Only if you are comfortable."
You looked down and focused on him. Under the dim moonlight, you could not see much, but you could distinguish its length, so you traced his silhouette. He moaned loudly at your touch, and you smiled proudly. "Guide me, please."
Benedict covered your hand with his and made your hand hug him, then guided you up and down slowly. Some moisture joined your movements, making it easier for you.
"Come here," He stopped you, then making you straddle him but not getting your bodies to meet yet. "I shall get inside you now. Are you still sure you want to do this?"
"Is this the part that hurts?"
"Yes."
You nodded. "Alright, I am ready."
He looked you right in the eyes and used his right hand to drive you closer to him until you were kissing softly. Then, Benedict put his hands on your hips and lowered you until your bodies met.
The pained sigh was muffled by the kiss you and Benedict shared, the ache was tarnished by the growing bliss, and you couldn't contain the voices imploring for more.
"More," you begged. "I need-"
"Let me know if you want me to stop." he said, switching positions.
"I will." You nodded, looking at him in the eyes.
And then, it began.
If you thought nothing could be better than what you had just experienced, you were definitely wrong.
It was all soft at the beginning, but then it grew desperate and needy for the both of you. Your hands were intertwined and your eyes locked as he fulfilled his promise of making you feel good.
The kiss was never-ending, and it got to the point in which you did not know where you were, you just knew you were together and nothing else mattered.
Suddenly, Benedict pulled away, but you were in such a state of bliss after you felt your body shattering and coming back you were not all that aware as to why. Not that you cared with the way you felt right now.
"I will be back in a second." he promised as he stood up, kissing your forehead before leaving the bed. You looked at the window from the bed, admiring the night sky.
Benedict returned and started cleaning you up delicately, not saying a word. You didn't need to as the silence was peaceful and comforting.
Before he could lie next to you again, you wrapped a blanket around yourself and went to the window sill, where you sat and Benedict soon joined you. He was supported on the wall and you on his chest, both admiring the stars and the moon.
"I love summer nights," you commented. "And the good company makes it even better."
He chuckled. "Am I a good company, my Lady?"
"There is no one I would rather be with right now."
"I sure hope so," He smiled, giving you a short kiss on your temple. "I do not think Lord Weber would have done any of this."
"He wouldn't have dishonored me, you are correct," you joked. "I am glad it was you who dishonored me."
Benedict chortled, caressing your arm with his fingertips. "I cannot just dishonor you and get away with it, can I?"
"You cannot! What would happen to us if someone opened that door and saw us in a position as compromising as this one?"
"We would be forced to marry!"
"What a tragedy, Mr. Bridgerton!" You dramatized, turning around to kiss him on the lips.
"Marry me." he asked, an enamored sigh leaving his lips.
You looked at him with a small smile. "That sounds incredibly impersonal and not worthy of a yes from a lady like me."
Benedict trapped your lips into a last kiss for the night, doing nothing to hide that huge and adoring smile of his. "You have absolutely captivated me, my heart, and I am afraid I am irredeemably in love with you. For you, I would run from London to Versailles, swim from France to the Americas and back; I would give away everything that I have and renounce all that I am. You are my inspiration, my muse, and I am here to swear to you that I will love you, cherish you, and honor you until my very last breath. I have been trapped under your spell since the first time my eyes met yours, and I shall remain bewitched until I am on my deathbed. Will you marry me, my heart, my Lady, my love?"
"I will marry you, Benedict Bridgerton," you answered with an ecstatic smile. "And you better put a ring on my finger before you dare tell a soul."
"Cross my heart."

How fucking cool is it that you get to live while deltarune is still being released? Like i was too young to be interested in homestuck while it was coming out, and i got into amphibia right after it finished, so i never got to experience the hype around cascade or true colors. And ill be long dead by the time however many thousands of shows and music and books that i otherwise wouldve loved to see do come out. But i was there for the spamton sweepstakes!! I saw the SVN livestream! This even goes for other current media, like how i get to talk with my friends about new amazing digital circus episodes!! Ive been to many twenty øne piløts concerts, and i plan on going to many more! I watched the live premiere of overcompensate when i was staying home from school!! I watched mr samuels teatime stories for good kids and confused adults as it came out!! It hurts so much to know that i missed out on a lot of really cool things, like i wish i was a college student in ann arbor in 2002 so i couldve watched tally hall grow, how cool would that have been!!!! I wish i couldve seen all the theories around the owl house and gravity falls back in season one!!!! But there are so many experiences i have had and will get to have in tons of different fandoms that are just as beautiful. <3 <3 <3

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall - “Further Warnings”
Further warnings indeed! Let’s tally them up.
First one: Mr. Grimsby, a friend of his, but a man I very greatly disliked: there was a sinister cast in his countenance, and a mixture of lurking ferocity and fulsome insincerity in his demeanour, that I could not away with. That a man like this is Huntingdon’s friend is a warning sign.
The second one is seen in both Huntingon’s treatment of Millecent’s arts, and his reaction when Helen is actually interested in the Van Dyke painting he shows her, and tries to discuss it with him. He’s not interested in any of her interests or thoughts, or in any kind of thoughtful conversation. On top of it, he’s very disrespectful and unkind to Millicent, and Helen is aware of it though she doesn’t outright admit it to herself; the abrupt transition in I don’t know what Milicent Hargrave thought of such conduct, but I found his conversation extremely interesting, as though she’d rather switch to talking about his conversation rather than give her opinion of his bad treatment of Millicent. And immediately after that, she admits that if his mockery of the rest of the people in the room was written down, it wouldn’t look as entertaining as it felt at the time.
Third warning: he’s actively toying with her by flirting with another woman and then using that to try to get her to say she’s in love with him without having made any committment to her himself. That was not done at the time, and is a power play on his part.
Fourth, which is a bit subtler: in Helen’s conversation with her aunt, she says, “sometimes he says that if he had me always by his side he should never do or say a wicked thing, and that a little daily talk with me would make him quite a saint.” (It’s reinforced a bit by him calling her an angel in the conversation where he’s trying to get her to confess her feelings, right before her aunt cuts them off.) Helen may be, as she says, more thoughtful than the average 18-year-old of her acquaintance, but she’s still a fairly normal young woman, not an angel or a saint, and by treating her like one Huntingdon’s not only putting her on a pedestal, he’s moving the goalposts. If he holds up her relatively normal conduct as angelic, then that means he, a mere mortal, couldn’t reasonably be held to such lofty standards. Which has some implications for what his usual behaviour is like.
Helen’s conversation with her aunt also gives a good display of how she’s rationalized down her previously expressed standards, from needing a man to be actively good for her to love him, to “well, he hasn’t done anything actively wrong,” and from there down to “well, you can’t definitely prove he’s done anything wrong, and if he did it was other people’s fault”. (I want to say ‘she’s treating him like her blorbo’, but that’s trivializing.)
“I know nothing positive respecting his character. I only know that I have heard nothing definite against it—nothing that could be proved, at least”
And from that point, she rationalizes it down even further to, “well, if he’s bad then it’s especially virtuous for me to marry and fix him, it would be downright selfish and self-indulgent for me to marry a good man!”
Minor vocabulary note - Helen’s aunt describes Huntingdon as a “profligate” in relation to his supposed affair with a married woman. I’d always though profligate meant “spendthrift,” so this is a different usage than I’m used to.
I feel awful for Helen - she’s so young and inexperienced, and she’s being ruthlessly played by a man who’s about ten years older than her. It really goes to show where her first conversation with Gilbert near the start of the book - about young women needing to know more about what the world is like before they’re thrown into it headfirst - is coming from. Her aunt is doing her best, but social norms and propriety limit how frankly and openly, and in how mich detail, she can talk to Helen about the dangers.
And I do also feel terrible for her aunt, especially after extrapolating that she’s trying to save Helen from the kind of marriage she herself experiences! We see more of the “friend” of Helen’s uncle whom he wants her to marry, Mr. Wilmot, in this chapter, and he’s old enough to have a 25-year-old niece and is perving on an 18-year-old while drunk. That Helen’s uncle thinks that could be a good match for her says a lot about him! Helen’s aunt is in her worst nightmare here seeing Helen be entrapped; she’s trying her best to fight it, but she’s losing.

(...in my case, this is a song about what happens when a program is too human and expected not to act as such or lash out when hurt. this is a song about a teenager who was left believing his father betrayed him and was left wanting to hurt those he once held in such high regard.)

Not a request, but!! Thoughts on Pinkerton?
pinkerton is their best album easily. or at least my personal favourite (i could see arguments for blue and ewbaite).
pinkerton is definitely the most exciting and interesting album musically, it has a feel to it that i don’t think any of the other albums truly capture. the louder, rougher sound is unique for them and an incredible listening experience and the lyrics are truly something special. rivers writes so well on this album and it’s really interesting to hear the brutally honest wording.
pinkerton was my 2nd most listened to album last year (just after black parade) with like a full 25 hours spent listening to it it’s incredible, 10/10 album
you know what screw it, track by track opinions:
Tired of Sex - really good opening to the album, it introduces the tone of the whole project perfectly. i’m amazed at how well it translates onto pinkerton from SFTBLH, they managed to change it just enough to provide a fantastic opening. the kind of drone on the vocals emphasises rivers exhaustion with his current lifestyle very neatly and the sudden bursts of noise starting up as the lyrics become angrier is gnarly as hell i love the loud guitar
Getchoo - this one hits like crazy i love the sound of the chorus, the little ah-hAH right at the end of it when it goes slightly higher scratches the brain itch just right. the actual characters of the song feel so real, the whole album feels real, and it’s actually mint.
No Other One - same deal with the characters, this is gonna mostly just be me reiterating that Rivers killed it with the songwriting here. absolutely love this song, the long, winding intro kicking in suddenly with the bM-bm-Bm-bm-BM is heavenly, it’s a truly lovely melody (i have no clue how music actually works) and makes for a fantastic song, one of the best on the album
Why Bother? - this one makes me go bananas it’s so quick and fast and speedy and other synonyms and it just mmmmm good track good song everything explodes and i love it. also you guys know Rob Cantor from Tally Hall did a cover of this song for a Pinkerton tribute album and it’s really sick
Across the Sea - oh boy this is it this is the track where my opinion gets the account shut down. it’s good man it’s really good this song really hits. like obviously the lyrics are- they’re fucked they’re fucked up, but they’re honest and the fact that this song even exists at all and weezer put it on the album means a lot and made huge strides in musical lyricism as a whole. i honestly really enjoy it. and like it sounds good instrumentally as well the little piano noodles are so funny and chimey and cool and the repeating of the actual “i got your letter, you got my song” tune by the guitar immediately after it is nice it makes me happy
The Good Life - fucking insane track blam blam blam i love it i love it i love it. it’s time he got back. the actual historical elements of Rivers life that tie into this track is very interesting in regards to the weezer lore. this is a loud song and it’s a crazy song and everything about it is good and everyone should go listen to the good life
El Scorcho - now this is the song of all time. the lyrics are so silly goofy i adore them, he’ll bring home the turkey if you bring home the bacon man (the sudden slam i tot he chorus from that line is so good as well). Matt Sharps back in vocals are really nice to listen to, it isn’t his best vocal performance in the songs he was on but it’s very nice, and Brian Bells first ever vocal performance on a studio album (pretty sure he sang on the longtime sunshine recording earlier) is slaying honestly. that whole section of the song slams me violently back into the wall with some invisible force everytime i listen to it i mean how stupid is it i can’t talk about it i’ve gotta sing about it and make a record of my heart. anyway el scorcho good song ay carumba
Pink Triangle - funny funny gay song. unironically though this one is pretty perfect the instrumentals throughout the entire song is completely solid and i mean the lyrics are- they put my kind in the weezer lyrics. (actual history element of this is one of my favourite pasty’s of weezer lore, girl it’s about heard the song and it turns out she isn’t even a lesbian)
Falling For You - this one is my favourite weezer song. in my top 3 songs of all time alongside MCR - Mama and Komm Sußer Todd. it is, and it doesn’t feel like it the first time, but it is genuinely one of the greatest songs ever made. just listen to it. listen to the album. every little detail from the japanese voicelines in static at the beginning to the perfect melody and loudness of the chorus to the way all of the verses flow like that to the way he says little old three chord me (such a good line such a good line i am so normal) to the screaming the title in the final chorus. it’s immaculate. i love weezer pinkerton
Butterfly - this track is divisive. most people either think it’s the only good part of the album or it isn’t worth listening to after the rest of it. these people are incorrect. it’s a perfect closer for the album, after all the bangers, this is the mash to make, the full- bangers and mash. i actually do love the concept of winding it down at the end of the album like this and butterfly is really exactly how to do that. it’s beautiful and a really profound and perfect way to call back to the rest of the album and reflect on all the beautiful themes and concepts touched on. and hey, if butterfly doesn’t do it for you, you always have…
THE BONUS TRACKS ON PINKERTON DELUXE
oh baby those bonus tracks
i won’t talk about all of these specifically but Devotion, I Just Threw Out The Love Of My Dreams, Longtime Sunshine and Tragic Girl are all favourites of mine. blast off! too even though that’s not actually on pinkerton deluxe. Songs From The Black Hole was an incredibly interesting concept and a lot of the unused tracks from it or parts that were worked on to pinkerton also stand as incredible pieces of art

Okay, so recommendations. It's...really quite difficult to recommend stuff from Will because a lot of his music is quite varied and it kinda just depends on what music you've already listened to. If you've gone down the Jack Stauber, Tally Hall, or Lemon Demon path, chances are you're going to be somewhat on board with his music.
Will Wood is an experimental music artist who never exactly sticks to one sound. He said he doesn't quite like it. Self-Ish, his second album, he considers a concept album due to the fact that it's mostly grungy and rough vocals with frantic and wild instrumentals all with lyrics spouting stuff relating to a singular theme. However, if you ask me there are some things about him that stick out as being "Will Wood".
Piano. A lot of his songs have piano. In some places, what other songs would have as a guitar riff, is a piano bit. Piano (along with the baritone ukulele and also occasionally glockenspiel) is his main instrument.
Jazzy instruments. Saxophones, trumpets, all that. In his latest main album, In Case I Make It, Will forgos that sort of jazzy tunes a lot in favour of more calm and folk songs, but they still linger.
Tons and tons of lyrics. Will's lyricism is one of the main draws of his music to me. He often writes about his own experiences with his mental health and struggles in his songs. Themes of mental illness, being loved despite being human, and generally just being a person trying to get through this messy, cold world.
Yeah that's about goes for the constants.
Okay, so, depending on your music taste, I don't know how to quite recommend stuff. His newer album, In Case I Make It, is a lot more folksy and softer than his previous work. It still has that Will Wood flare, but just with less loud screaming matches between Will and an alto sax. His earliest albums (Everything is a Lot and Self-Ish) are more edgy and dark with those grungy and gravely vocals. The Normal Album is a middle ground.
I personally believe the best way to experience Will Wood is to listen to the albums, but for individual songs? Here's some ordered from softer to more intense.

analysis/description (in some cases) of Chonny Jash’s Tally Hall/Joe Hawley/Miracle Musical covers because apparently the new hyperfixation has emerged. Most of these are just my interpretation, and there’s many ways someone can interpret these! (I would like to say i am no academic genius or anything, i get Bs in english, at best an A- every so often, this is nothing professional so i’m not trying to make it sound professional, this is just me rambling about a thing i like a totally normal amount)
Let me know if there’s anything you’d like to add to this analysis
TW: Talks of suicide (i mean it when i say let me know if i missed any TWs! I can be incredibly dumb sometimes and miss/forget them)
Analysis under cut
Spring & a storm + Never meant to know:
It's a bit difficult to relate these ones to the CJ’s narrative, since there’s no added or changed lyrics (aside from an added line in S&aS that goes “So observe these blues and greens, and embrace this harmony, all you see and you and me, we came from the stars …”) you also can’t find heart or mind (and potentially soul?) in them.
We do know that this may be intentional though, seeing as not long ago CJ redid the “Spring & a Storm” cover. They might be made to make the covers look relatively normal, just of a guy covering a band he likes, until it's not that of course.
Hidden in the sand:
This is where it gets a bit more like the Chonny Jash we know and love. From what i’ve gathered this one is about a man who gets rejected by a woman. The man tries to write her a song to try “win her back,” but his frustration at her and life in general leads him to make the lyrics sound angry and resentful, maybe not intentionally. Even when the frustration went away, he couldn’t make the lyrics work.
This is a fun one, and one of my favorites of CJ’s covers. Still no immediate sign of Mind or Heart in this one, though there is some speculation this one is sung by Heart instead of Soul, since in the Mucka Blucka cover, he’s the one to make the reference to Hidden in the sand, as well as the reference to the Haiku cover — which is most likely based on the same or similar situations.
Ruler of Everything:
Now THIS cover is where it gets good. It starts off with the usual lyrics of “Juno was mad, he knew he’d been had, so he shot at the sun with a gun …” Until it quickly shifts into the usual CJ sound, also with our first traces of Mind! Right away when listening to the next part talking about how “Juno” in this situation missed, and so he “got what he deserved,” you can easily hear Mind singing along with Soul. Even in the beginning you can very barely hear Mind singing, until you can hear him much better in the next part.
The paragraph immediately after that doesn’t include Mind, although the next pre-chorus you can very easily hear our bestie again.
“Juno” in this situation is most likely to be Heart, when you listen to Mind’s attitude towards him as well as the evidence in Mucka Blucka: “And right is he (i) missed, my eyes in a mist, i finally realised, i shot at myself …” Here Heart is the one to say “I” instead of “he” in that first line, as well as the rest of that verse.
Speaking of this next pre-chorus, the lyrics go as follows: “You understand, mechanical hands are the ruler of everything …” Now as we know, Mind is VERY commonly referred to as an “automaton” or “robotic”, most often by Heart. This is probably due to his habit of using logic and reasoning instead of his emotions. Knowing this, makes that line very interesting! Going back to Mucka Blucka YET AGAIN we are looking at the reference to Ruler of Everything where the lyrics go: “But mechanical hands decided where the heart would be: Just apathy.” This also includes CJ’s cover of Just Apathy, which we’ll get into later. This probably means that, as a result of Heart trying to shoot Mind, they end up having a chat where Mind explains his reasoning for never using his emotions to dictate decisions, or something like that to be honest I got a bit lost on that one.
Now we get to the “do you like how i walk” part, which is sung by both Heart and Mind, Heart of course doing the “goofier” lyrics with Mind butting in to sing the “consequential” line, i'm not typing the whole verse out. When Heart sings the “disintegrates into chalk” line, this may be an allusion to his blindness, it clearly has a bit more importance seeing as Mind also joins in when he sings this, who knows though.
The first half of the flibbity-jibber-jabber verse (yes, that one) seems to be sung by our boy Soul, with the second part sung by Heart and Mind. The lyrics don’t really change from the original here, but my bets are they’re all going through some sort of either identity or existential crisis.
And finally, the last verse is sung in a duet by both Heart and Mind, both singing specifically about mind, with the only lyrical variation between the two versions being Heart says “you” while Mind says “I”. This is probably Heart accepting that Mind does have the high ground in this situation, and there’s not much he can do about it.
Variations on a Cloud:
This cover is a doozy! Mainly just a trio between Heart, Mind and Soul with some lyrical changes (mainly being from Soul). This is excluding one of the last parts, where the three start singing all at once completely out of harmony.
In this part Soul’s lyrics are almost completely original, where one of his lyrics is: “They say we're not worth the time, they wouldn’t spare us a dime, while they spend all their days devouring cocaine and wine,” This seems to be a jab at people who don’t do anything to help others who need it, such as people mental illnesses or physical diseases, even though they have the funding to do so.
This also includes another one of Soul’s lines: “I’ve suffered agony, relentlessly, helplessly since you came,” He’s probably saying this to Heart and Mind, for obvious reasons.
Also on that last line, “Join if you wish,” it might say something if Heart’s was the one to stick around the longest before all the texts disappeared, idk just something to point out.
I’m sure there’s more to this one, but I couldn’t find much for it apart from that last section.
Bad Day:
This one’s a bit more complicated, it doesn’t seem to directly include Mind or Heart in it.
There’s a good chance this one isn’t involved in the narrative being built here and was just a song about CJ’s health, which is what it most likely is. Though there are a few lyrics that feel a bit off, such as the repeated line of “let us sing,” as well as “you want me to sing? Fine,” But it’s also very easy to tie this to Chonny’s fans requesting songs so often, who knows.
It might also be a way of speaking the truth about one’s health instead of just the normal lyrics, which I got from the last part of the song where it goes: “Fine I'll play the happy version, free from sadness and perversion, eyes be blocked from devastation …” but who knows with this one.
Haiku:
Haiku!!! Love this one, really nice and wholesome amirite haha. Anyway, going back to Hidden in the sand, there’s a good chance this cover is likely based on the same story as Hidden. The first half of this song is about a man trying to figure out how to write a haiku for someone.
The next half is the actual haiku, which seems normal at first, until in typical Mr. Jash fashion, it turns out our subject has been stabbed, where at first he thought the love-interest had stabbed him, saying “i swore that i smelled your smell” until it goes on to say “but i stabbed myself,”
From what I've gathered, he asked a lady out, and she rejected him, so he tried to write a haiku/song for her, which he struggled to write for a while, until he finally did it, but it still wasn’t enough for her as she turned him down again.
Let’s see if this relates to the Heart, Mind and Soul narrative. At first glance it doesn’t seem like it does, but when you look more into it (as well as the Mucka Blucka cover referencing BOTH songs), you might be able to see it at least has some symbolism to Heart and Mind’s fallout.
Banana Man:
This one probably doesn’t have as much to do with our narrative we're analyzing here, mainly meant to criticise the issues with the original song, so I won’t be saying too much about it.
I suppose It CAN still be debated that it DOES include Mind and Heart, seeing as you do have a voice with Mind’s lower octave, as well as a few lines that might reference them, such as the part that goes: “forget about the voices lying deep inside, the one that’s screaming screaming and screeching, proclaiming wrong and right,” although that line can also very well be interpreted as someone’s morals that might say “hey this is kinda weird,” so we’ll see.
It states in the cover’s description that the song is meant to over-dramatize an argument Jash may have been having with a “past version of himself as well as people who refuse to acknowledge things that can be good but have problems” so this cover is most likely just that, not really much to do with our narrative and more about the problems with the song.
There is still some evidence of Mucka Blucka briefly referencing the song in the cover, as well as some of the lyrics and of course, being able to hear a voice similar to Mind’s in it, so maybe they’re vaguely involved, idk.
We’re Gonna Win:
Now THIS is a good one! I’d say this cover is where it really starts getting into the narrative of our favourite guys, with the “plots” of each song being a bit more clear.
This cover, as we know if you’ve heard it, is a combination cover of Rob Cantor’s “I’m gonna win” and Tally Hall’s “All of my friends”, and it’s definitely one of my top 5 fav covers!
The song starts with the first verse and chorus of Cantor’s “I'm gonna win,” seemingly being another trio between Heart, Mind and potentially Soul, though the chorus does sing a bit of “all of my friends” sung by Mind.
There’s a brief intermission with a distinct “click” sound, similar to a finger click or a light switch, before the second verse and chorus switches to the lyrics of “all of my friends” with a bit of “im gonna win” in the background also sung by Mind.
It then goes into the bridge, where the first actual lyrical change happens, where instead of saying either song’s actual lyrics, it goes “but we’re not so different, you see” before it goes back into both of the songs’ respective lyrics sung by both Heart and Mind, until they start singing at once, “but it’s just you and me, it’s just myself and I, we are all that we need, we are all that survives,” Now i don’t normally bring up the actual music video here, but it might be important to mention that this next part i’m gonna talk about here, up until this point as usual, Mind and Heart’s sections have been split up as black and white, but here it is entirely black, with the funny little face you see so often appearing coloured. Coolie!
In this section they are almost singing in harmony, with only the lyrics being different and some parts being dragged out a bit more. Here is possibly one of the few times they’ve been in agreement about something, basically singing about how they’ve harmonized their tones, but they’re not done, they’ll keep singing no matter what until they're “dead in the ground.” fun times!
So one can depict this as the boys finally coming to an agreement about something, at least (most likely) temporarily. That’s how i’m gonna depict it as there’s not much else to see it as.
Welcome to Tally Hall:
This is the one where we finally got the name for this little narrative, “Chonny Charming Chaos Compendium” quite a mouthful! And why i’m just calling it CCCC.
This one mostly seems like an introduction to the Jash himself, at least for the first half. When we get to the second half, we hear our first glimpses of Heart and Mind, who sing their own parts for a bit, with yet another reference to mind being some sort of robot. Whereas the first half seemed fairly normal and was just him covering the song normally, the first bit of the second half is much more like Chonny Jash’s usual style, until it goes back into the ‘normal’ cover.
Like i said, seems mostly like an introduction to Jash himself, admittedly I don’t listen to this one as much (im so sorry) so i haven’t had as much time to hyper analyse it, but maybe i’ll come back to this one day and look more into it.
Just Apathy:
I love this one! It’s so good! Definitely an underrated one compared to the others, for both Chonny and Tally Hall!
This one is fairly easy to understand, it seems to be an exchange between Mind and Soul, (or Mind and Heart, it’s a bit hard to tell) with a bit of Heart/Soul appearing at times. It seems to be highlighting their apathy to things in general, and trying to justify it.
“I’m sick and tired of holding fire, when all I feel is violence,” Wanted to single this line out, firstly, because i want to MARRY it, it is AMAZING, and also because, it being sung by Heart, can also allude to the grudges he holds.
Greener:
This one is mostly a metaphor, the “yards” being mental health. And Soul is either experiencing mania, delusional or is actually doing a bit better here. Mind also briefly shows up in this one to state that he doesn’t think this better mental health state will last, so thank you Mind appreciate it.
This one seems to be our subject, potentially Soul, seeing someone’s mental state is pretty bad and being like “same bestie,”
I haven’t got as much to say about this one either, this one is a bit clearer to me than others have been, so that’s gamers champion.
The Whole World & You:
This one is always gonna be in my top 5 favourites because it’s actually the one to introduce me to CJ in the first place! That’s right, not the mind electric, so there’s a few bragging rights for me.
This is a very funky one, with Mind very prominent in it, not so sure Heart is though - still unsure if this is Soul or Heart singing in this, but it seems like Soul so i’ll say it’s Soul. This one seems like, partially, a eulogy to Tally Hall, while also bringing our favourite CCCC lads into it.
As usual with some of the covers Jash does, it starts off sounding like a “normal” cover, before it goes into the narrative we’re familiar with. I should mention, they’ve been mention “Blues and greens” a lot in these recent covers, including greener, and this one, probably as a reference to the first cover he did, Spring & a storm.
We also hear a small tease to the mind electric when he says “Love, duality” at 1:29, ain’t that fun, speaking of this part. An interesting line would be when he says “So when the darker side had found out about the songs, i’d hidden for so long, i finally had the courage to say say ‘this is what i can do’” While Mind is heard singing in the background the whole time about him passing his “test”, this might be him talking about or TO Heart, but it’s a bit dubious.
The next part, when analysing the lyrics, seems fairly passive aggressive, with Soul (or Heart) saying “I hope you’re happy now, I've merged dark and light,” And Mind adds in “I must admit you took your sweet time,” in response. He then says “This slope I'm headed down has turned to a slide,” and mind’s line is “I always knew that we could be intertwined,” and finally Soul/heart says “So i’ll throw my hands up high and enjoy the ride,” while Mind says “You played Dr. Jekyll so I played Mr. Hyde” and the back and forth goes on for a bit, until they finally say at once “But at least now i’m mine,”
It then goes on for both of them to start singing “Please don’t just laugh and clap right now, this is serious, i'm not delirious,” which is most likely in reference to that last line, and how others may not believe it, perhaps the other side that wasn’t featured in this song.
After that the eulogy for Tally Hall happens, we know this because he says “consider this a eulogy to the colourly band that used to be” (And colourly is definitely a word trust me The Jash said so)
Be Born:
This one is a big one, and definitely a cover i need to listen to more often
This one seems to be sung by Mind, directed at Soul, saying there’s no good or evil here, they’re both just fucked up individuals who rlly need some therapy (paraphrasing), “But what if I told you, I am not the villain? What if I told you, you’re the same as I? …”
Also included are the first glimpses of their names (since we haven’t had any mention of their names til this point) by mentioning Heart and Mind a few times.
It also repeats how at one point, Mind was the one in charge, but not anymore, probably due to our buddy Soul.
So basically Mind humbles Soul THOROUGHLY in this song. Including the end, where Mind states, directed at Soul, “these facts entwine to form a sign, to craft your voice in heart and mind. So make your choice, and make it right. Will we be ours? Or will you die?” So basically, Soul has to choose between the two of them, or else he’ll just run himself into the ground from depression. Yay..!
Going back to the idea that Mind used to be the host, now run by Soul or Heart, it seems like whichever one is “running the vessel” is, consequently, getting very tired of it, as Mind says “So if you’re sick, and if you’re tired, then soothe your heart with songs inspired,” This seems to also be directed at Soul, due to that last point of him saying that Soul has to make a decision.
Special:
From Soul’s perspective, it mainly seems to be about his struggles in terms of his morals and how ‘special’ he is.
One line that is definitely in reference to Heart and Mind would be: “If there’s one person in this world that I can’t trick it’s myself,” It’s pretty self-explanatory. Soul can’t lie to Mind and Heart, they know about him too well.
He later goes on to say “And anyway, who am I to fret like this? Maybe a keychange can pull me out of this abyss.” The tone of the song changes significantly, going on to say with a more hopeful tone to it “Sooner or later I shall find myself and make amends with the me left on the shelf,” Soul wants to make amends with Mind (we can tell the “me left on the shelf” is Mind thanks to our bestie Mucka Blucka cover, where it references this, and the “me left on the shelf” part is sung by the one and only automaton man)
They eventually go on to sing 4 different lyrics at once, two being the usual special lyrics (one of which uses we/us pronouns instead of i/me pronouns, and also fades into the lyrics of Time Machine by Miracle Musical) and the other two being two different sets of lyrics from Variations on a cloud.
This is also the cover where he starts using live action more instead of just the funky little face with lyrics and blacks and whites.
Two Wuv:
Again, from Soul’s perspective, but more about the public’s opinion of his duality. Specifically, parents, family, as well as churches and whatnot.
“Father, saint and Mary, I hope you understand … I think that you’ve been playing this wrong, I've come around a thousand times but I'm still singing this song,” This line is directed at the churches, how he’s gone there so many times but praying has never worked, he’s still making this music, he’s still got issues.
“I wrote a couple rhymes, over tunes I didn’t write, In an attempt to reconcile what keeps me up at night,” In reference to the last song, where Soul tried to make amends with Mind.
You can also use the next line, “But as ideas began to grow, and the tracklist followed suit, the halves I once reviled had finally settled their dispute,” the songs and ideas are a metaphor for Soul’s mental state, and when it started deteriorating, Mind and Heart decided to “settle their dispute”. This is also told from Mind’s perspective in "Storm & a Spring,” where he sees a “soul so deep, and dark, and eternally cold, and an oath formed from us both that it would stay whole,” Mind and Heart made an oath to keep Soul together.
“The person you see is a dark, divided man, but the fact is that is just who I am, and I can’t keep selling this facade when I know that it’s a scam,” This one is fairly self-explanatory, his family knows that he is suffering like this, but he’s come to accept it, and he can’t keep acting like he’s okay when everyone knows he’s not.
“But I think for the first time in my life, that these oddities that bonded me aren’t worth the fucking strife,” Despite Mind and Heart making an oath to keep Soul bonded, he can’t deal with them and the constant alienation from society they bring him.
“Fog so thick and hazy” may be a reference to Heart’s blindness, as well as the one quote from Mucka Blucka “… My eyes in a mist, I finally realised I shot at myself …” though it feels a bit out of place, so possibly not.
This is also the cover where CJ brings the boys signature colours into the videos, the electric guitar having a blue edge, likely to symbolise it’s Mind playing the guitar.
This can also have two meanings to it, obviously the one we’ve just covered, but also the idea of being queer in a christian household or town, and having to deal with the issues that brings. “I refuse to be the person that my parents eulogise,” and “… But i’m an egoistic queer under any definition of the word,” these are normally interpreted as coming out to your parents and them not accepting you or being different to what they wanted you to be. The line “Fog so thick and hazy, calls for holy light,” can be in reference to how people might say he needs “God’s guidance”.
The Bidding:
This is a good one! First song I was there to experience be released, it’s also in the favs list. This is mostly Mind and Heart arguing while Soul suffers in the background. I'm not gonna go hugely into detail with every little line in this one for Heart and Mind’s parts because it can all be summed up as “they fightin’” but i’ll go more into detail for Soul’s and whatnot.
Mind seems pretty much tired of the arguments, but still adding to them and egging Heart on. He points out how Heart keeps “putting in his dimes” or, contributing to the argument.
Heart’s part is him pointing out Mind’s hypocrisy, and how he is doing the exact same thing he is, yet he acts so much higher than Heart.
Soul’s chorus is him trying to get them to stop arguing, saying “time is short, life even more, yet you wage this silly war,” they have these petty arguments so often they’re letting life pass them by. He then threatens to “tie the rope” if you catch my drift.
The next part of the chorus is Mind and Heart singing in harmony about how they have been in “total agony” ever since the other came around, they then lose the harmony, going back to insulting each other.
Soul obviously notices that temporary harmony, and urges them to try again, saying that even if it is just from them insulting each other like children they harmonised none-the-less, saying even if they won’t do it for each other, he wants them to do it for him, that he doesn’t know how much more he can take of their arguing, but if they can harmonise maybe he can finally be himself.
In this section they are briefly able to harmonise to say one word, and then say the last sentence “this dissonance could disappear” in harmony. Let's go girlies!
Mucka Blucka:
Hooey! finally the song i mentioned so much! to be fair it’s absolutely littered with references that are really useful for evidence, soooo…
This one seems like a sort of recap of Mind, Heart and Soul’s characters, with several references to past songs as well as the very much more in-your-face reveal of our boys' names (though technically they were revealed last song, but I didn’t notice that until 20 minutes ago soo… shhhh) and also the plethora of chicken puns.
We also get a retelling of Heart and Mind’s fallout, where Heart shot at Mind, which led to Heart going blind, and him realising that he kind of brought that upon himself.
Time Machine by MM also makes a reappearance in this one, at the very end using the melody of the original song.
The state they’re all in is often described as a “personal hell” or the likes, they’re all trapped and suffering for eternity here.
“It’s painful to admit, but even I can see through my bullshit,” can be seen as a reference to the Special cover, where Soul mentions how he can’t really trick himself, aka Mind and Heart.
Dream:
Mind and Heart’s fights have gotten worse, seemingly physical, and Soul seems to be getting increasingly paranoid, thinking they’re trying to take control and probably kill him.
You may have noticed, Mind and Heart have not been trying to do this, they’ve been far too busy being mad at eachother. Outside of them arguing, they’ve still been trying to keep Soul together (as far as i’m aware) so them trying to kill him is a bit contradictory, isn’t it? But maybe they don’t realise that their arguing is slowly breaking Soul down, mentally and possibly physically, so he may be assuming they’re doing this on purpose to usurp him.
Still they’re arguing, and it seems in this song Mind and Heart are possibly getting ready for another fight, and Soul is having a breakdown over it because he wants to live, so he decides to try one more time, what this is? I have no clue, it’s probably obvious and i’m just stupid and sleep deprived, maybe something like giving them one more chance to sort their issues i have no idea.
The Heart Acoustic:
Yeah that’s right i’m splitting them up. You’ll catch me dead before I put the TWELVE MINUTE SONG into it’s own section. Fuck that.
Anyway, here’s where we first see Heart’s face with the blindfold, as well as his perspective on things. It seems He wants everyone to stay alive, but he knows that “one plus one can’t equal two if happiness is both our truths,” He knows that Soul will have to pick ONE of them.
It’s also where we first see signs of Heart’s chest pains, since he’s seen several times holding his chest in the way someone would if it was hurting.
“… And you beg for it to stop, but you’ve already dug your lot in the ground,” This line is likely in reference to later on in the song, during Mind’s part where he mentions how Heart “fell into a hole he dug for him”
He antagonises Mind saying he tricked Soul into becoming what it is, and while he certainly had a part in it, if we’re talking about the constant arguments wearing Soul down, we know that both of them had a part in that.
In the last verse of Heart’s acoustic, he once again calls Mind an “automaton freak” and saying he doesn’t care anymore, the “vessel” is becoming worn.
I also noticed how Heart barely gets that last “fare” out before it immediately switches into Mind’s perspective, how kind.
The Mind Electric:
Mind is a really good one, although it’s the shortest, he certainly uses the time well to give us the good ol’ tiktok audios
As stated previously, Mind switches in and is IMMEDIATELY singing, like a millisecond intermission before he’s insulting Heart. You go dude, I think.
The first paragraph is pretty much a diss track on Heart, insulting him CONSTANTLY, before it shifts to the second paragraph where he keeps insulting him, but also saying his logic is the absolute!
Third paragraph is a little different, he mentions how Heart probably sees him as just a “simple, cynical machine,” (which he does, admittedly), but despite that, he still has Soul’s best interests in mind (pun not intended).
He goes on to say he doesn’t enjoy covering these songs — likely because he’s the one most often there in the covers, maybe not the main focus but he’s THERE. He then says he’s knows its “hard to see my rhyme behind the entropy, but if he’d just once humour me, he’d see we need to live life logically,” The “he” in this situation is most likely Soul, but it might be Heart.
He goes back to insulting Heart, saying he sounds profound but it’s “insincere,”
“See how his feet miss the ground, and he falls inside a hole he dug for me.” This line is in reference to Mind and Heart’s fallout, which we all know by now.
He then goes on to say “Though I seem harsh in all my assessments, we each seek a life lived in the light …” Yeah no shit half the song has been you insulting Heart, anyway, he goes on to say that they can’t live in this “light” because Heart has been hella resentful and stubborn.
And now unlike the transition between Heart to Mind, the transition from Mind to Soul is much different. Mind gets PLENTY of time to say that last word, in fact he gets to enunciate the T iin “akaryocyte” before it switches, lucky him!
The Soul Eclectic:
Now unlike Mind’s part, Soul waits like a whole 10 years before singing, adding distortions and instrumentals for a whole 5 second intermission before the “Yo”.
He introduces himself to the audience as The Soul, his name (which he promptly doesn’t say, thanks man), your host or insane. The whole range!
Mind and Heart then butt in briefly to once again try to persuade Soul to make a choice on who to pick, through insults at each other, ofc.
Now Soul is much different in this song, he’s aggressive and snippy, probably at his limit, saying “you seem to forget, you answer to me,” reminding them that they can’t be too pushy or smth idk.
He still goes on to say however, that neither Heart or Mind is wrong or right.
“You must be so arrogant to think that either of you can control The Soul so wholly, when to be one whole you can’t hold solely” This one’s pretty self-explanatory. He’s reminding them that it needs to either be BOTH of them in harmony here, or that it would have to be shared with Soul himself.
The next verse is another reminder of his power over the two, he’s the “lord” in this situation.
After an intermission, he goes on to say “‘Cos I’m not nearly kind enough to leave you parasites inside me …” Fun times! Surely I don’t need to explain that one, I am very tired.
There’s another intermission, with some additional lyrics that i don’t need to get into bc we get the message, before they bring in the next section with all three saying “I am me”, not quite at once.
We then get to the serfs work the ground verse, where the lyrics remain mostly the same, except for a small shift saying “See how the brain plays around, and it splits what once was whole down into three,”
We then get to the Demo 4 section, that’s right WE GOT DEMO 4 IN THIS BITCH i literally screamed when I heard that part not even joking. Anyway, you know this you’ve probably heard the song. The first part of the Demo 4 section is sung in unison by Heart and Mind, as they pretty much insult each other repeatedly.
The next part is sung by Soul, and how they are always fighting, never hearing what the other has to say.
And then the last verse. God help me. It pans to a clip of Soul singing the last part, with his usual red lipstick, but with Heart’s nail paint and Mind’s blue guitar. He’s given Mind and Heart one last chance to sort their shit out, or else he’s gonna “take them down with him” if you know what I mean. Yeah. Fun times!
Storm & a Spring:
Mind slays yet again in this, and once again it is directed at Heart!
“One time I tried to sing … But it was nothing fucking new.” Ironically enough, this one DOESN'T seem to give much new information, but instead reinforcing some old information we got from Mind’s perspective, such as the oath and seemingly the idea that Heart can’t/won’t let them “live in the light” (likely a metaphor for healing or letting go of old grudges).
It DOES however, proposes the idea of Mind’s headaches for (I think) the first time, (at least visually) seeing as several times throughout the song he’s holding/rubbing his head.
“You thought they were listening? …” This is most likely talking about Soul, maybe both Mind and Soul, never actually listening to Heart’s laments.
“I’m sure you really sang your Heart out, … that’s how it seemed. … Looks can be deceiving.” This line might be one of the few new bits of information we get, or not and my brain didn’t connect it to anything idk. It seems like Soul/Mind tried to ‘kick Heart out’ (possibly kill him) but it didn’t work. It might also be a reference to Heart and Mind’s fallout, which resulted in Heart’s blindness, but that's a theory.
There’s also hints that Heart may have tried to off himself, but Mind stopped him because it would’ve also killed Soul, but I admit I cannot find much evidence for this outside of the song.
“So if you insist on crying, while our host is slowly dying, then i’ll cut you loose and spare this noose the deadweight,” as well as “if i left it to you, you’d fall under its weight and kill it too,” are some key points, it might also be a new event that happened between TMA and S&aS, so who knows.
Part I: Night:
Fun fact about this one, for some reason I thought the song was started by Mind for so long. Like as of writing this the song is about a month old right?? I only realised a couple of days ago that it was started off by Heart. And I'm sure you can tell by this entire post that I probably listen to Chonny Jash a bit more than the average person, right? So why the hell did I not notice it till now? My brain works in mysterious ways dawg.
Another thing I noticed when drawing them once that has absolutely nothing to do with their lore (as far as i'm aware) is the fact that Heart is absolutely DRIPLESS. Like Mind and Soul have these cool jackets going, Soul with the fur and Mind with the hot-topic, but Heart just has his hoodie and sweatpants, and I find that hilarious. I think I will draw that.
Anyway, within the first 30 seconds, as I just mentioned, the song is started off by our bestie Heart, and we can also see two fairly brief clips of Mind and Soul sitting down, facing the camera. Very interesting! Maybe they’re finally having group therapy (wishful thinking)
“Open the window, look out and see me,” This quote is started off by Heart, but then fades into Mind by time he says “out”, this is clearly meant to give the image of Heart opening the window, looking out, and seeing Mind! wow!
“Tonight, I’m arriving alive and alight, … All the black, and the gray, and the white,” The boys have finally made up! They’re “in the light”, and harmonising!
The next verse, sung by our boy Soul, seems to be him inviting Mind and Heart to “look out through” his eyes.
Basically this one seems fairly upbeat, right? The best outcome, everyone’s united, Soul doesn’t want to kill Heart or Mind, Heart and Mind don’t seem to want to kill each other, they all WANT to unite, it’s a good outcome!
Although, from what i’ve gathered of the bridge here, they’re not fully sure it’s real, something feels off, Heart and Mind still seem to be at least a little passive-aggressive, but we don’t get to hear much else about it as it fades into the last chorus.
Part II: Light:
So I'm not the greatest at expressions, especially reading them but I figured I could do it this time seeing as their faces are there this time.
Something I noticed in the first few seconds as it switches between Heart and Mind is Mind’s expression. Not really sure how to describe it, but I find it very interesting. In the first shot of him it’s pretty unreadable, he’s just staring ahead into the camera, a little stoically maybe, the second time is pretty much the same, only he blinks slowly, but the third and fourth times seem VERY interesting to me. Now it might just be the autism misinterpreting facial expressions here, but he seems almost solemn? maybe regretful even. In the third part he looks away from the camera, his eyes downturned, and the fourth is him in that same expression, looking down away from the camera.
Now that previous analysis is very interesting considering what Heart’s lyrics are going to be about. “Sitting in the sight of that which blinds [sun], tore me at the seams. Harsh palpitations that tunneled my view, eyesight grew warped, distorted and skewed.” Now anyone with a brain (That of which i certainly have and noticed the first time I heard the song yes certainly) would know that Heart is describing how and why he went blind. Heart’s eyes are extremely sensitive to light, and considering the other two want to live in the light, that is a problem! It’s likely why he wore the blindfold previously if he wasn’t blind then. Now as we established in the Night section, we know they’ve all managed to start living in the light, and so I'm sure I don’t need to explain any more.
Now the next verse is also very good (this whole song is ngl), it’s sung by our bestie Mind once again, and it seems like he’s finally having some empathy for Heart here, at least a little maybe. possibly. “Striving to be right, I fight this sordid fight against the other one,” He says, it seems like he’s finally admitting that these arguments with Heart have not been justified in any way, they’ve been stupid and infantile, simply looking to win the arguments.
“Transmute the pain to kinetic energy,” Now if you’ve taken your science classes children, you’d know that kinetic energy is the action of movement. He probably got physical with Heart at times, which we do have some evidence of in Dream, where Soul describes them as “covered in their blood and sweat,” which is not usually something that can be achieved just verbally, unless you’re in an anime maybe but I don’t think this counts as an anime.
“Tonight you’ve survived out of pity and spite, all night you have vied for your place in the light,” slay Soul, you go, clearly he’s speaking to both of them here.
“But I won’t be split in two, won’t be him or you, we will be combined whether that be dead or alive, let’s blur these lines,” He doesn’t want either of them to become him, he wants them to be combined, all sharing a place if u know what I mean.
“Please help decipher this life that we lead, for each step that we take, the answer takes three,” I got a feeling this one is directed at Heart, seeing as he would probably be least willing to figure things out or go into the light (if they’re the same, i’m not totally sure), and also the fact that Heart’s part is immediately after, and while it’s not a response, it feels like a response, yk?
After Heart’s verse, Mind and Heart then go on to sing the chorus in unison one more time (altered at the beginning to fit Soul’s “split in two” segment from before), two halves of their faces have been split to form one full face, and our boy Soul appearing at the very end with “mine,” all three then go on to take turns singing some lines about how “something must feel lest they rot,” and how things ARE different. They’re understanding each other more. “Something has shone,” seems like the best line to use.
“All of the else will fade away” they then all sing in unison, Mind and Heart’s faces split to form a whole new face, with Soul’s layered over the top.
And now this last verse sung by Heart is about him accepting the others and his own humanity. “That sad, sulking mess. This human you’re being,” FUCK OFF /pos
And finally, the second last chorus sung by Heart at first, “tonight i’m arriving alive and alight,” im sure i need not say anymore about that. It then transitions into another mix of all three faces, saying “with doubt consigned to drought let ardour sprout cos …” This brief statement basically means, even in doubt, let passion grow. Normal-wordified.
And finally, the last chorus is sung by all three mixed together still, where basically they sing about how they’re going to combine, they’re all onboard, they’re letting that “ardour sprout,” “fuse the moon, and sun, change your point of view, let us variate these hues” or, more familiarly, “blur these lines,” you go girls!
A theory I have is that Night & Light is more based on the same experience, night being the more upbeat “wow everything instantly turned out great!” ending where we’re kinda left “in the dark” about it perhaps. While Light is the more realistic approach, where they had their own struggles to go through, and still have more struggles to go through, but they’re trying now, working together, and that's a REALLY big step.

- Randy's jacket is torn to hell and back, and he refuses to get rid of it
- Oliver likes fnaf, and he explains the lore to the people hes closest with. Mr.Dickens didn't understand any of what he was talking about, Norm got lost like 5 minutes in but didn't have the heart to tell Oliver, Randy somehow understood him, and Gingi wasn't paying attention the whole time
- Mr.Dicken's wife's name was Julie and she owned a flower store
- Randy is autistic
- Gingi ate a rock once while Norm just kinda...watched
- Billy owned a fidget spinner. I say "owned" because he threw it at someone and never got it back
- Randy doesn't know how to cook for the life of him, but he does know how to make pancakes so at least he has that
- Callum and Marla are very affectionate towards each other to the discomfort of everyone around them
- Oliver has ADHD
- Gingi named each of their kids after the person it reflects. The horse is Carmel, the raccoon is Stromboli, the emu is Olive, the monkey is Squatch, and the eagle is Norman
- Gabby has a ton of candles around her shop that she changes for the seasons
- Norm absolutely despises winter and will spend all of it angerly sitting in front of the fireplace
- Karen clicks her pens when she's trying to concentrate, and it drives everyone crazy
- Gingi has bits of fur around their neck that grows as the seasons change and it gets colder. It's shortest in summer
- Pierre, Stabby, and Shooty are all friends
- Oliver lets his friends go through the scareshack for free sometimes
- Hobo was once paid to do a cartwheel, fell on his face, and was knocked out. He woke up a day later in some random dumpster near the center of downtown Dialtown
- Mingus is transfem
- Karen and Randy sometimes draw together. Karen is good with realistic things while Randy's style is a lot more cartoony
- Tango's favorite song is Living Island by Pogo
- Gabby loves talking with her customers, especially young teens who come into the store
- Oliver and Hobo watched a cheap rom-com they found in the dollar store once, and the night ended with Hobo breaking the disk over his knee and frisbee-ing it out the window. Oliver was just...too stunned to move. They don't talk about that movie.

- Gingi acts a lot like a cat
- Callum and Marla met during one of Callum's early campaigns. Marla showed up to all of them and after a few, she slipped her number into his pocket.
- Randy's father was a priest and his mother ran the church he preached at
- Gabby hates the smell of cigarette smoke because she was around it so much as a kid
- Mingus has a pearl necklace that belonged to Marla that she wears a lot
- Oliver's music taste consists of: Lemon Demon, Will Wood, IDKHBTFM, Two Door Cinema Club, Brittany Spears, and Tally Hall
- Gingi behaves and is nice around Karen, but the second she leaves it goes back to being a gremlin

- Finnaly, Mingus and Gingi act a lot like siblings
