Jealous Will fic potential

per @parkitaco’s post on jealous Will which I have been thinking abt nonstop, Will being jealous over Mike getting a bf would be such a juicy fanfic bc of the different reasons as to why Mike and Will don’t think the other returns their feelings:

Mike is skeptical bc of his own poor self esteem. Despite sometimes having his suspicions, he genuinely doesn’t understand how someone like Will could love him. I don’t think Mike thinks Will is straight, or that it even matters that much to him, bc he thinks love is transactional and that he himself doesn’t have much to offer Will (he’s of course, wrong on both accounts lmao).

Will, on the other hand, is now convinced Mike is straight. He probably used to think Mike could be queer (season 2 and probably pre canon even), but he was “proven” wrong in an extremely painful way (rain fight, season 3 in general, etc) and now despite Mike sometimes showing clear signs that he returns Will’s feelings (bedroom scene) Will simply doesn’t allow himself to hope. Will thinks Mike doesn’t return his feelings because he thinks Mike is straight (it’s also bc he believes that he doesn’t deserve to get what he wants but yk that’s another post, Will is complex guy), I def think he would have more hope if Mike never got a girlfriend and they never had the rain fight and everything building up to it lol.

So just imagine, if it Will finds out that Mike is in fact queer via getting a boyfriend that’s not Will. I don’t think Will would do his whole “I’m just gonna sit back and let Mike be happy, even if it’s not with me” mentality this time. No, Will would be petty. Petty and jealous and if he ever interacted with said bf when Mike wasn’t looking he would use the full scope of his WillByersSassTM, and Even better if this is Will and Mike in college and they’ve rebuilt their friendship so they’re close again, so Mike’s bf gets jealous of the byler friendship and it’s a petty feud between him and Will and Mike is extremely confused, and ofc Mike had sworn up and down to himself that he wasn’t gonna push Will away just bc he was dating someone so he tries his best but he didn’t account for how jealous Will was gonna be and AUGH the drama potential I can see it so clearly—

Parker srsly if you don’t write this I might have to ngl, it’s too good of a premise it needs to come into existance one way or another 👀

helloooo~! You know, I've been thinking about Leumin for a good few hours. I wonder how crazy he can be. I believe he would kill the entire world for the love of his beloved. but what would he do with his beloved if they rejected him? Would he kidnap them? Would he keep them chained in a basement and tell them they could never see the light of day just so they could just be with him forever? (honestly, my dream. Maybe I'm as crazy as the yandere characters😈)

Hey again, friend! 😊 Mmm, honestly, Leu's pretty chill when it comes to his beloved! He'll tolerate rejection as long as he can still be around or close to them... But even he has a breaking point- if he noticed that his beloved was seeing someone else (or someone was flirting with them) then he wouldn't hesitate to get rid of the competition. Leumin is the type that prefers to swoop in and offer his assistance and shoulder for his beloved to cry on in order to get closer to them. He prefers if they fall in love with him of their own choosing, so kidnapping and stuff would be too counter productive for Leu. HOWEVER... IF YOU WERE TO MAKE IT KNOWN THAT YOU'RE INTO BEING CAGED OR CHAINED UP OR YOU DON'T MIND IT?? YEAH, THAT'S FREE REAL ESTATE- He'd never let you go ☺💞 He wouldn't mind seeing to all your needs

ooooooh nikolai clearly has trauma related to freedom. not just his whole Thing with it, but the fact his ability gives him a quick and easy escape and especially a way to go around rules - even the rules of physics! and going by the assumption that your ability manifests in relation to past trauma, i really wonder what made him this way.

my first thought would be imprisonment of some sort. being chained somewhere, unable to leave. perhaps in a cold place, thus his idea of escape is also tied to an overcoat? it seems a bit too on the nose doesn't it?? esp with the bird in a cage metaphor

@/creantzy's fyolai comic made me think of brainwashing of some sort. definitely works with how terrified he is by it

i think a spicy take would be. that he was just a normal guy. just kind of Off, brain wise. so the monotony of a normal life drove him insane. or maybe his parents(/some other guardian bc everyone in bsd is an orphan fr) had great expectations of him that he failed to meet, and he felt metaphorically chained by that. maybe they were very protective of him and didn't let him out or do things he wants, so he felt caged by that

actually the more i think about it the more i like this idea, of a very grounded, realistic, common trauma for this character that's anything but normal in a series where everyone has these tragic larger than life sob stories. it can be a very nice subversion of expectations and imo make him even more interesting - because a backstory like that is so common even for us real life people, if he became That, there must be something wrong with him. and i think that's really poggers
