Townies from promotional materials for Get to Work including the short videos "Still Life" and "Sul Sul."

CC-free (shown with my defaults + a couple pieces of CC) household of young adults & adults. Includes one of each outfit and some preferences, including sexuality and pronouns. They all have jobs, skills, and lifestyles. Place on lot then evict, or use with MCCC tags.

Finally! I started these makeovers ages ago. These are some of the first Sims EA shared on the gallery. I cobbled them together and now I get to see them getting up to shenanigans in my saves. (Writing the little blurbs for these was fun 🤭)

George L'Ernitage — One of the top scientists around, George gets along fabulously with most people who meet him. Though he sometimes goes on long-winded monologues, his dry wit and love for sharing knowledge makes his employees love him.

Coeus Leto — A respected art critic from Willow Creek to Windenburg, Coeus is a fantastic time if you're hanging out as a friend. Onsens, drinks, art, and music? Check. However, if you're an artist, you better be thick-skinned.

Cole Henson — Cole has only been a rugby player for a couple years, but they've already been scouted professionally. An asshole and, honestly, sometimes downright cruel, nothing stops Cole from getting what they want: to be #1.

Aileen Rauvu — Aileen, after landing the planet, found success working a high-level position at a cybersecurity company in San Myshuno. She quickly became bored and found herself interested in the very malicious hackers she was easily fighting off. After a meeting at the Stargazer, she's now indispensable to the other oracles. And no one even know she's from Sixam.

Brett Stubbs — He served in the Sim Air Force when he was younger for 4 years and never lets anyone forget it. He seems to have some money saved, though he lives in a cabin in the woods. But mainly he's interested in investing in some of the new technology coming into the world. Sure, he's a hunter and outdoorsman at heart, but a high-tech hunting bow never hurt anyone, right?

Bill Wu — Bill loves his job as a computer engineer. It never gets boring to him. In fact, nothing gets boring to him because everything is a game to him. He brightens up some Sims' days and annoys the shit out of other Sims. He doesn't care as long as he gets to sit down at the day with his true passion: playing Blicblock tournaments online.

Naomi Foye — Classically trained in her youth, Naomi was a singing coach and piano teacher for many years. Now that her ex-husband is out of her life, and she's in her prime, she's finally making the step to following her own dreams as a singer. Starlight Boulevard doesn't know what's coming.

Lester VanNuys — Lester is just a silly guy, you know? A goofy goofball. You new here? He'll be your friend. Come on with him down the street—he knows this place that has the best stroopwafel you've ever tasted. Not today? Well, at least come on down to his show tonight at The Blue Velvet. He promises he'll make you laugh your socks off. Tell 'em Lester sent you. (Narrator: They'll have no idea who you're talking about.)

Hello, you can call me Amber. I'm 25 and use She/Her. I've been a simmer since late 2018, when I got TS4 on a winter holiday sale for $5. Since then I have become an avid player not only of the TS4, but TS2 and TS3 as well.

I've been into tumblr and fandoms since 2011, but I've always been a bit of a lurker. However, I want to give being an active member of the sims community a proper shot.

For several years now I've on and off run a very low effort simblr sideblog, @diamondsandplumbobs, but being a sideblog, there were just too many limitations when it comes to interacting and community engagement. So, I thought it best to start fresh!

I plan on posting content for TS4, TS3, and TS2, like gameplay, making my very own Townie Lore Refreshes as well as CC makeovers, just talking sims headcannons/opinions, and maybe even posting fanfiction at some point.

The last of the revamps of the three TS2 base game neighborhoods is finally complete (Alt Pleasantview V2, Alt Veronaville V2). 

I don’t really play Strangetown that very often so I didn’t know what I could offer here. Then inspiration struck and Alt Strangetown V2 was born. Click here to view the household photos.

I know that it’s probably quite boring to see the same lot for the third time in a row, but I have only just considered it ready and that means that all premade lots that will be included in Feverfew release will have the same level of detail as this one. Almost empty on the inside, and slightly decorated on the outside. No fancy photoshop editing this time. Just pure in-game pics! I’m still not sure about how playable this type of lot is. It’s residential, but made for 3 separate households (as normal terraced, or row house would). I can’t make it into apartment, since I don’t have AL in my Sims 2 Super(-duper) Collection (the reason for the absence of ceiling too). So basically, you’ll have to decide yourself what to do with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There will be few lots like this one in the neighborhood. Pics are captioned! Yeah, as if —__—

Main facade, I’ve decided not to move mailbox and dust bin around so that everyone could decide whether it's necessary or not

This arch passage leads do the garden, well, the patio. Once the driveway was connected to the main road through this arch

The very corner terraced house doesn't have the access to the patio, but it has a lovely attic with dormer windows

The dormer windows are now have a proper roofing (it was a flat roof in earlier versions)

As you can see, all the flora is completely vanilla. I try to keep the lot mode CC at low (special Feverfew stuff doesn't count though)

Your makeover is seriously one of the best makeovers I’ve seen (not that I’ve seen a lot, Riverblossom is chronically underappreciated). The original house is just... what were they thinking?

Aw thanks, now I’m blushing. Truth be told I get overwhelmed with large amounts of CC, so this time around, I tried to keep it very maxis match. And yes, I love the Riverblossomians. I think that this expansion pack offers some of the most unique playables, both in appearance and storyline. Even Pleasantview couldn’t come up with something like the Viejo household. The houses are subpar, but the Sims are amazing.

(I do take lots of ugly pictures. They just don’t make the cut. And Riverblossom can look pretty nice with a bit of help- makeovers, grass defaults etc. I think my new graphics card helps. And if I wasn’t too lazy to crop my pictures, they could look even better...)

I think you create an atmosphere in your game/story that is so beautiful and specific and I was wondering if you have tips on how to accomplish that? And also how to stick with it - I find myself constantly shifting gears when it comes to how I want to tell a story. x

Aww thank you!! Strange County’s been an easy child so far to be honest. I indulge in fooling around with it only when I feel like it, keeping it as far away as possible from feeling like a chore. I just took Strangetown and sprinkled my favorite things on top of it. Leone westerns, paranormal stuff, horror, sad heroines, attempts at portraying human complexities… and then started playing, doing makeovers of the sims and lots. Giving premades roles in a setting is pretty easy: they have existing personalities you can look at for answers on how they’d behave in a given situation, but not too much so there’s some free space for imagination.

Concrete tip #1 I can come up with is get yourself in the mood you want to put out with music and moodboards! With Strange County setting the desired visual’s been pretty effortless: I make all the sims look tired of each others’ bullshit with cc, take most of the pictures at night, dusk or dawn, and when editing the images in photoshop I put a low opacity warm yellow tint on them as a finishing touch. It’s a really simple trick but it gives all the images uniform color scheme without losing too much distinction between them. I hope. The end goal is a series of portraits of a town suspended in a gloomy stagnant state right before a storm. A sandstorm? Well the moment right before shit, hitting, fan, all that. Everyone’s got their agendas and conflicts that are about to collide and implode at the slightest nudge of a catalyst.

As for the rest of the atmosphere, I have my music playlist in the background which really gets me in the right mood for the themes I want in there, whether I’m playing, building, writing or making related cc. My main keywords are usually isolation and melancholy with everything. Cheerful gal, simple zest for life, basically.

For me the thing that gets me to stick to a theme is simply to have elements I love and don’t get tired of, rather than a clear vision or outline how things should go. I don’t feel forced to follow a certain aesthetic, I love being able to just play around and see where things lead. As a story or just the process of worldbuilding progresses, it’s obviously going to evolve, even in directions that don’t at first look fit. I say let the story go where it wants and see what you can make of it within the frame of whatever atmosphere you want there to be! :)

Cahill Low-CC Makeover

George is a retired pilot who used to enjoy taking his beloved plane Penelope for long flights across the world. While passing over StrangerVille, a large flash of light caused his plane to crash. He has since set up camp in the remains of Old Penelope and has self-sufficiently lived on the outskirts of town. Although he is growing skeptical of the bizarre residents of StrangerVille, he means no harm and mostly keeps to himself.

First StrangerVille makeover! Now he has the bestest girl, Glider, as company in his bunker.

Roswell Low-CC Makeover

The Roswells are the oldest residents in StrangerVille. As mayor, Ted has aggressively pushed to modernize the town—making some shady deals in the process—but his crowning achievement has been the construction of the Crater Base & Secret Lab. Meredith has been noticing her husband acting strange and sneaking out at night—perhaps he's trying to cover something up at the Secret Lab? Or is something else going on?

Free Spirits Low-CC Makeover

Writer Maaike and artist Ulrike don't care much about material goods, but even these two roommates admit they could use a few upgrades around the house. Maaike's particularity about her writing means she often passes up opportunities in hopes for better ones. And Ulrike's perfectionism means she scraps more paintings than she completes. Will these two find success (and rent money) as freelancers, or will they be doomed to work a 9 to 5 to make ends meet?

Maaike & Ulrike have been roommates for about a year now. They're not exactly best friends, but they work well as roommates and recently signed another lease together.

Maaike is passionate about writing stories, but she writes articles here and there for money. Unfortunately, she prefers high-brow publications and doesn't want to be associated with anything less--meaning she often misses opportunities for pay and exposure. She would die if anyone knew about her secret fanfiction.

Ulrike is heavily inspired by the great painters who came before her. Her knowledge of art history impresses even the professors at Britechester. However, she's incredibly hard on herself, and most of her paintings end up in the garbage. Regardless, she's active in Windenburg's art scene, making sure to carve room for the rascals of the art world. Her roommate likens her cat, Matisse, to a witch's familiar.
