Dorian led Link up the stairs.

He knocked on the big double doors. “Lady Impa!” he called in ringing tones, easily heard even over the pouring rain and howling wind. “Presenting His Highness, Prince Link of the Zora, the Hylian Champion and Knight to Princess Zelda!”

That’s a mouthful, Link thought blankly.

Knight. Champion. Prince. Link's had a lot of confusing titles thrown at him, all given by a dead king. Maybe the answers he seeks lie in Kakariko village...

Another writing-frenzy hit last night. It must have been hanging out with such cheery-fun friends on the Zelink discord server In part of. 😁🥰 Chapter 2 of Divine Right is out! Just a short chapter of Kakariko-welcomes for Link and Zelda after the fight of their lives.. and lots of wholesome kisses. Here’s a little preview-snippet of the chapter!

"A.. A chair, Sir Link- " Her tone tugged at him like the warble he had heard from her over dinner the night before, and he nodded solidly before running to the cooking area to borrow a bench. Already she had the burgeoning need to find a bed, a pillow, or a simple nook behind one of the sweeping homes to recuperate, and she tugged the knitwork sleeves of the tunic set she had loaned from Link to squeeze and fret them in her palms.

Even when her eyes trailed up one of the smaller trails between the houses for a neutral place to avoid eye contact, a vibrant spray of overenthusiastic white hair grabbed her attention. A young woman was rounding a corner with a basket full of folded clothing, her shape familiar, and Zelda wandered away from Cado just as Link put the bench down in the grass. Paya was a familiar sight for the world-travelled knight, so he sat down patiently to look on with Cado near the jolly statuettes lining the front fence of Impa's residence. Instead of hiding her face with her palms, Paya stared in stock-still fascination as Zelda walked right to her and began to talk, out of earshot of the men, her mouth ever so much agape. Zelda's voice started to rise in volume, oddly giddy, and Paya promptly dropped her basket as the fabled Princess of Hyrule grabbed her by the cheeks and rained kisses on her face. The agile, warrior-trained chieftess-in-training stammered and grew vibrantly red when she was hugged without restraint, helpless.

Link startled when Dorian set Impa down on the bench beside him on her cushion, holding her hand as she got comfortable in the sun without her traditional wide-brim hat. Her face was awash with bemusement through the exaggerated crinkles of age and she shared a well-preserved toothy grin with him before calling out to the young ladies in with healthy lungs,

" My dear Princess, when you're done with my granddaughter, will you have any left over for me? "

Paya was visibly relieved and flustered as Zelda twisted around in place, whimpering wordlessly when the unexpectedly affectionate stranger locked eyes and started walking to the old woman. Her basket was promptly gathered up, the folded clothes hugged with the whole carrying-container sideways to her chest; she ran across the greens and up the stairs into her home.
