WAAAhh thank u !!! tbh as fond as I am of the design I came up with for him in this au there's.....really not much to say abt him either....he's a pretty minor character but because of the nature of the role he /does/ play there's not much non-spoiler material involving him that isn't just . the same as canon :'<

WE DID THE HILL A DAY EARLY

For context at band camp there's a really steep hill and when we march on the streets we go up and then down said hill, while playing etc

I'm not kidding it's probably a 70 degree angle and I know math stuff

I hate it so much because I have snare drum and I can't lift my knees very far without hitting the bottom of the drum so the entire percussion section is just struggling for like 30 feet

Honest to god i've been having real trouble figuring out how to depict relationship between fanny and ortensia and ortensia as a whole, because the first idea i had for them was to have ortensia be very scared of fanny since she is quite intimidating in my ver and ortensia is easy to scare

Then I thought ortensia could have a crush on both oswald and fanny and be very and clumsy obvious about it yet insist no one knows (the entirety of america and switzerland knows)

Then I thoght maybe it can be just oswald and fanny since they kinda got drilled into my head and i've been having real trouble figuring out how to write/depict ortensia and i dont want her only trait to be "she's kind" bc ok shes kind but...what else? Like a character being kind isnt enough to be intresting and thats the only point i can solidly imagine about her

Idk I know many people care about ortensia and i've been trying to get into her lore and characteristics more and seriously i've been trying to care for her more but It seems like everything slips through my fingers and I don't wanna forcefuly characterize her or force myself to liking her because it just never ends well for me but also I dont wanna just leave her out because people like her so much :/

I had an issue like this with minnie but I got over it in few days with ortensia i had this issue for over a month good god idk what to do anymore

My previous guess as to his number to direction sense (as shown when he rolls two dice, gets a 7, and says that means he should go "South") was that it may be the numbers are laid out as on a clock, since two dice can roll up to 12. The problems with this are: 7 should not be directly south, it should be South-Southwest, and also, you cannot roll a 1, so it's impossible to get North-Northeast (Unless you take snake eyes as "roll one again and even number is 2, odd number is 1" but that changes your probabilities so 1 and 2 are half as likely as any other number.

I would guess it's like this, but they're fast and loose with it in the show because it doesn't really matter.

Lucky is doing good!!! She's currently only allowed in my room/bathroom so she knows this is her space and where she'll eat and stuff. My siblings cat is a known bully of her.
