Lupe had thought she had seen Addie before earlier that week but she had passed by so quickly it just felt like one of those deja vu moments. Like watching a memory in real time and as the week went on, Lupe had forgotten about it. Until she was standing at the register looking out the window and saw a familiar face walking down the block. It was unmistakable now. Her face, her walk, her everything. Lupe didn't always remember things but she remembered people. Or at least she tried to and she was pretty sure she would never forget Addie. Mostly because Lupe could never forget her time in Morocco. She had the tattoos to commemorate it and everything.
She was quick to call back to Copper that she'd be right back as she ran out of the store, hoping to stop Addie before she got to far. "Adelaide!" She called out, mostly to shock her into stopping before she was smiling in her direction. "It is you! I thought my eyes were deceiving me but look at you, here in front of me." Lupe slowed to a stop, pausing to catch her breath as she took Addie in. "I prefer looking at you under the sun but I suppose the gloomy backdrop of Cardinal Hill has it's certain charms too," she teased, still not able to believe it.

"I mean I'll start the petition, I can be very persuasive," she offered. "Mm, yeah a lot of people have been coming in to ask for some sleep time mixes. I think everyone would benefit from some meditation. I am also offering my services for cuddling, these arms are meant to do good," she told her and flexed. Lupe had of course experienced her own difficulties with sleep but had decided to ignore it and instead reach for any type of vice that would give her no choice but to knock out as soon as he was home. It made for crazy dreams though. "Uh yeah, definitely," she told her with a nod and held out her arm from Eden to take. "Coffee, maybe a little pastry, some gossip. You can catch me up on what I've missed in the...week since I last bothered you," she teased and gave Eden's hand a squeeze as they walked out of the inn. "My biggest piece of gossip right now is I think one of my regular is totally cheating on his husband. Sad but spicy."
As her blurry eye adjusted to the person in front of her, Eden allowed herself to produce a genuine smile. Shaking her head with a laugh, she went on. "I keep telling the owner we need one of those, even if it's just for me after my shifts." Closing her work binder, she moved away from the desk and closer to Lupe, her head nodding in agreement that coffee was needed. "I didn't sleep well last night, however, it seems like half the town didn't." No one knew why she came back so suddenly; possibly, if she spoke about it, it would make it real. Yet, as the months rolled on and the incident continued to haunt her, she wasn't sure how long she could keep it all in.
"Do you wanna grab some coffee with me? No one should be checking in until later today." She needed a break, some room to allow herself to not feel as if someone was watching her constantly. Her whole body was sore, thanks to the way her anxiety caused every muscle in her body to tense up.

"I know, I know! I'm late! But I come bearing bribes and apologies," Lupe sang out as she rushed into the Twilight Cauldron 45 minutes later than she should have. A bag from the Ceramic Cup swung from her hands, her sunglasses just barely on her nose as her sweater hung off of one shoulder and she tried to balance a coffee in the other. She was a hot mess but one that still seemed in good spirits as she grinned once she was face to face with her boss. "Your favorites and some sweet treats. I swear I set my alarm and then I stubbed my toe on the way out my God I thought I was dying and then my coffee maker wouldn't work so I went to the cafe but the line was so long and the guy in front of me must have been ordering for an army because shit he walked out with like four trays and three bags. Insane. Then the coffee I got spilled and so I had to get a refill and obviously flirt with the barista, anyway," she sighed and unpacked the food for them as she rattled off, not even paying attention to if they had customers yet.
She took a big sip from her coffee and slid her glasses up onto her head. "So, did I miss anything fun?"

Lupe hadn't been totally sure he was real until he started speaking. She had been partying pretty heavily earlier and had only left because it had suddenly struck her that she really wanted food. And then she remembered she lived in Cardinal Hill now so there were only so many things open late. If there even was anything aside from the gas station. She followed his line of sight and squinted. "I see something," she told him though her vision was pretty blurry regardless. So she wasn't even sure. "Is it coming closer or moving further away?" She glanced quickly back at him. "Shit this isn't a trap, is it? I'm too tired for riddles."

While the sky had long ago grown dark, the moon was shining bright overhead, allowing Stoker to see the figure close to him. His body felt weak with fatigue and intoxication as he sat on the cold ground, and his eyes were fixated up into the sky as if it was the most important thing to do so. Upon first glance, it wasn't easy to tell if Stoker was excited or scared; the truth was, he felt a bit of both. "There!" He suddenly pointed upwards, finally averting his gaze to face the other, eyes frequently flickering back to the spot he was pointing at despite his attempt at focusing on his company. "D'you see that? Tell me you see that, there's definitely something up there." Stoker was indeed claiming to see a UFO, and he could only hope that the other saw it, too.

didn’t want to grief post on this thread, so just venting here for my own piece of mind
digital holonet entry 112824 0714hours
I’ve been on and off coping as grief does, but after seeing that post about not thinking too long about crosshair just reminded me how much I’ve kinda been avoiding drawing him.
I know I recently had a similar conversation with Lupe about this. He will always be favorite overall, but my vision for cross has artistically changed so many times because I think deep down it’s a grief truth for me that I’m struggling with. I have so many crosshair drawings I never posted because they’re just SAD. I didn’t want to turn this to a depression blog so I refrained from posting or deleted those from here.
My husband passed this summer more suddenly than I’d like to think about. He was watching season 3 without me because I was too busy with work at the time. But rewatching it after he passed had me instant hone in on crosshair + connecting the loss of my husband with the loss of tech; which gave a different part in my grief acceptance + a secondary obsession with the brilliant minded clone. It’s a reminder to hold onto everything we created and did, + to always keep thinking about him.
Crosshair returning with his brothers + not having tech there feels twice as suffering knowing what their last interaction was like. And an even deeper personal meaning knowing I see my husband in everything. In our life around us, in how I choose things, how I respond to things. (Which we see + are reminded of that tech is apart of everyone he ever met)
Self regret that we didn’t have time to have a proper last moment. It just ended. Just because you choose to accept they knew you loved them, + vise versa, doesn’t make it easier than you’ll never have them around anymore.
Which with grief, digs the vibro-blade a little deeper because you never know when your last interaction with someone is.
watching how each of them take the notion of what tech would do, picking up where he would take over. I would imagine it would catch crosshair off guard, hearing tinkering to certain data pad beeps, only to look up + see Echo fixing something, or Omega typing away. Because I literally do this with sounds I associate with my late husband.
That feeling never goes away for a loved one. His brother, his batch twin. But omega is a huge part of that healing. And she has been a huge part in mine connecting her with my kid who isn’t giving up on me + needs me. Simple intended motions go such a long way. And the scene were they’re meditating hits hard for me.
Even more so when I’m constantly shaking out my own hand to keep it under control. It’s never easy when it hits, but every scene of cross trying to get his tremors under control, is something I do more often than I care to admit. I just have to keep going.
Not seeing tech with omega, is like realizing I won’t ever see my husband with our son growing up. He’s young, + it feels more unfair. And that hurts. Crosshair is such a dynamic clone + his guilt + hurt reaches out to many people in so many different ways. Which is why I can’t think too long about him either, but he will always be my favorite overall because I see him as me.
From grief, trauma, hand tremors, loss. (if I’m being honest, I’m pretty decent at shooting actual long range rifles) there’s so much to crosshair I personally relate to, and not just his attitude haha!
Crosshair didn’t see his brother fall, but he watched another brother die in his place. An older brother that taught him a lesson he didn’t realize he needed to know until it was too late. We confirmed that from his retaliation of shooting an imperial officer, + when they returned to the deserted base; he instantly moves to set up the memorial buckets as Mayday did. A reminder of the fallen, a reminder that they existed + lived.
A lesson I have to remind myself everyday.
So what I guess I’m also trying to convey, while I see myself as crosshair, despite the grief, the false fight some days, I’ve never felt so alone than having my soulmate gone. Going from a life of fun, banter, + life for granted, to solitude and what feels like isolation.
the clone community really gave me a second chance. At me. At reconnecting with myself, my art, my humor + wit. The friendships I’ve made + are continue to make really are giving me a new fight and a new reason to just keep going.
I never share for sympathy, I don’t want to be put in a “do not interact zone”. That’s the opposite of what I need or want. I just wear my heart on my sleeve + find comfort in just being honest about struggles + how we strive to move on.
as our boy hardcase (+ echo) quote, what I try to embrace:
“LIVE TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY”

Hi, Lupe! Sorry to bother you, but I saw you weren't feeling well, so I wanted to send something your way. I hope this little fic brings you some comfort and I hope you get some much needed rest soon! 🫶
---
Solomon was in the kitchen when he heard the front door open and close. He’d been waiting for you to return from your duties, so to keep himself occupied, he decided to sneakily prepare something special for dinner in the meantime. He half-expected you to come in and scold him for being in the kitchen; he was making quite a bit of racket with his stew gurgling loudly and him rummaging through the utensil drawer. Though when you never barge into the kitchen, he knows something’s off.
With that thought gnawing worry in his mind, he instantly turns on his heel and heads into the hallway quickly in search of you. Luckily, you’re in the first place he pokes his head into — the common room.
You’re sprawled out on the couch as if you were boneless. An arm is thrown up over your forehead, your eyes shut tight beneath it, indicating restlessness, while shallow breaths fill the otherwise quiet area. He watches for another moment just studying how worn-out you look, validating his worry.
“Are you alright?” he asks gently.
You let out a sigh while moving your arm to peek out from under it, seeing him approach you with caution. “Long day. Everything aches.”
Solomon’s expression shifts, his eyebrows furrowing as he kneels beside the couch. “Would you like to define ‘everything?’”
There’s a beat of silence as you wrestle with being honest with him or sparing him the details so he doesn’t fuss over you. Though, the moment you meet his eyes which are just begging to be let in, you relent. “I was on my feet a lot today, so pretty much everything from the waist down hurts,” you sigh again before continuing, “my knees, my ankles, my feet, even my back are all in pain.”
He hums in thought. “I see…” He reaches out to thread your fingers together, his thumb rubbing the back of your hand in a soothing motion. “Let me take care of that for you.”
Before you can protest, not that you think you would right now anyway, he begins chanting under his breath, speaking a spell into existence. The sound of the low, familiar timbre of his voice does wonders for your exhausted mind while a golden tendril of magic curls from your clasped hands snaking up along your arm to follow the shape of your body to slowly move downwards towards the areas you had mentioned before. Once the magic gathers in bunches around your waist, knees, ankles, and feet it constricts into tighter weaves before giving way to a bright rainbow glow, the color you know to be his magic. The spell then fades, dissolving into your clothes and skin until the pain begins to subside.
Solomon brings your hand up to his lips, kissing the back of it while eyeing you for any discomfort. “How do you feel now?”
“Better.” You release the deep breath you’d been holding in to help brace from the aching, and the frown you’d been sporting melts into a grateful smile. “Thank you, Solomon.”
He smiles too, feeling a weight lift from his shoulders now that you’re no longer in any distress. “You don’t have to thank me. I’d do this time and time again if it meant you peace of mind…and body.” he adds with a chuckle. You chuckle as well, giving his hand a light squeeze in acknowledgement to his sweet words.
Now that your mind isn’t clouded with discomfort and fatigue, the smell that assaults your nose makes you grimace involuntarily. Then your eyes widen in realization.
“Wait- you weren’t in the kitchen, were you?” There’s a notable wariness in your voice as you ask.
“Perhaps,” he says with a twinkle of warmth in his eyes. “I decided I’d surprise you with dinner this evening so you wouldn’t have to worry about it.”
Your eye twitches. “Solomon…”
He quickly adds, hearing the rising tone of your voice. “I think it speaks to our connectivity that I knew you’d be too tired to want to cook tonight.”
“Solomon…” The urgency grows in both of you.
“I love you?” Solomon smiles sheepishly, hoping that’s enough to mitigate your growing frustration at him.
Luckily, it works, and you let out a soft humored breath. “I love you too. But what exactly-“
A loud explosion cuts you off that shakes the whole dormitory, startling both of you. Solomon glances between the threshold of the common room and your face as he realizes his mistake. He swallows thickly. “Oops… I must’ve forgotten to turn the stove off when I left…”
You don’t even want to entertain what mess awaits you in the kitchen, so you level your thoughts into something positive. “At least I won’t have to stomach his cooking.”
“We can order takeout.” your voice is filled with a forced calmness that isn’t lost on Solomon.
“Takeout. Yes.” he quickly nods in agreement before fishing for his phone in his pocket.

Find the Word Tag
thanks for the tag, @willtheweaver! go check out some lines from the Crow and Foxfolk series here
my words to find are chill, ford, support, and scar. i'm looking through Spark Signature for these:
chill
“No, hon, stay.” Welwi pats at Jules’s arm and signals Rune to bring another drink. “We’ve already set you up a character and everything.” “Yes, actually, you should stay.” A slow smirk creeps onto Jacqui’s face. “I’ve already written you in, anyway. And besides,” she stares sidelong at Vy, “I’m a merciful GM.” A chill tumbles down Vy’s spine. The last time Jacqui had seen fit to remind them of her mercy, they’d spent a real-time month stuck on the Island of Lost Souls. Fresh wine sloshes into Vy’s goblet. Rune shakes xir head and pats Vy on the shoulder. “Godspeed, Captain.”
ford cross
“Sorry again.” Jules’s fingers tighten around the bulging folder in his hands. “For crashing your game.” “Don’t worry about it. What’s that?” Vy makes grabby hands at the folder and snags it as soon as Jules offers it up. They unravel the twine holding it shut—Jules must’ve had to raid a vintage craft store for all this paper—and find within a thick stack of notes. Some are typeset—printed, from an actual printer—and some are handwritten. They all make Vy’s eyes cross and their pulse throb behind their optic nerves.
support
Jacqui texts again. “Bringing your boytoy home?” And Vy wants to say ‘no’ to that. They should say ‘no.’ Not because Vy’s opposed to the concept of boytoys or bringing them home—they’re an enthusiastic supporter of both—but if whiling away an entire day on pining and ruminating and ritual and non-ritual cleansing hasn’t cleared up this weird fucking feeling they still get when they think of Julián, there’s no way they’ll be able to fuck it away. “Not planning on it,” is what Vy settles for.
scar
“Behind me!” Lupe yanks Vy further into the shadows and takes off its glove. Pointed nails dig into its palm; blood wells and beads. With fingers pinched, Lupe pulls the blood through the air like thread through a needle. It arcs over their heads, slicing a scarlet line across the darkening sky. The blood hovers there, a shimmering scar, and then it grows. The red bleeds outward, arcing over them in a translucent pane. It touches the walls on either side of them, settles, and solidifies. Vy looks up; they're enclosed in a perfect dome of sanguine stained glass.
passing the tag along to @isabellebissonrouthier, @pb-dot, @byjillianmaria, @bluberimufim, @thesorcerersapprentice, and an open tag. your words to find will be mercy, snag, fuck, and glass.

Lupe actually bit back any sarcastic remark before laughing. "Smooth, smooth talker. Do you talk to all of your baristas this smoothly or am I just special? And don't lie, we baristas keep a very tight circle," she lied with a grin. "But I am known to enjoy competition from time to time."
"No I think their hearing is pretty clear. Wish you could hear your voice like I hear it. Very sexy, sultry even," she added with a slight bite to her bottom lip, letting her fingers linger on the drink a little longer so there was no choice for their fingers to brush as Linden took their drink. "You're welcome to visit me any time. Play your cards right and you might even get to walk me home some time."
"Shit, just a little over a year, I guess,"Lupe said, not having realized that much time had passed since she had not only gotten this job but how long it had been since she returned home. She had floundered a bit before finding this job but she had to admit that the routine didn't feel as suffocating as it once had and that was a bit of a scary thought. "Honestly didn't think I'd be here so long but here we are. What about you? You grow up here?"
Linden let out a low laugh, the kind that curled at the edges like smoke. “Mmm, I dunno,” they said, resting their chin on one hand, “Somethin’ tells me you’re the kind of bet that pays off in unexpected ways. High risk, high reward.” Their smile turned a little sly, soft around the eyes but undeniably warm. “And hey, I ain’t scared of a little unpredictability. Keeps things interestin’.”
The question about being demanding earned a raised brow and a slow, dramatic tilt of the head. “Me? Demanding?” They placed a hand on their chest, feigning mock offense before the grin slipped back in. “Only when I’ve got a real good reason,” they added, voice dropping just a bit.
They watched Lupe closely, a quiet kind of admiration settling in their gaze. There was something magnetic about the way she worked, focused, deliberate, full of that effortless charm Linden found impossible not to notice. When she turned back toward them, the compliment about their voice caught them off guard just enough to make their ears go pink. “Please. If that’s what’s keepin’ ‘em on the line, they need to get their hearin’ checked,” they laughed, reaching for their drink as it was placed in front of them.
“And hey, weirdos at sundown?” They lifted their cup like a toast. “Sounds like my kinda people. You ever need backup wranglin’ the evening crowd, you give me a call.” There was a pause as they took a slow sip, then added, half teasing, half sincere: “That is, if you don’t mind me hangin’ around more often.” The back and forth between them was fun, and Linden could feel their annoyance from the other night slip away. "You been workin' here long, or?"

AAAAAAAAAAH!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! i'm so pissed that neoboard messages auto-delete after a certain number of days because a garland-themed christmas intesteen was MY suggestion on the December Pet Day Suggestions thread and i have no proof of this. it's everything i could have hoped for!!!
i am hoping that it's a glitch that it's unpaintable right now, because my christmas lupe has a 19 year old intesteen attached to it and i will lose my mind if i get my dream petpet added to the site and have to sacrifice my aged intesteen to have it

Yo Aqui, you'll really get a kick out of this. You remember that one "Pat Allee was an expert on Native Americans and based the Wolf Pack on Eastern Native American tribes" tweet? Because, oh man, I fell down a rabbit hole of research after reading the follow-up tweets claiming that Ben Hurst and Pat Allee rewrote a "critically acclaimed" play based on Cherokee history, which the tweet claimed was called "Until These Hills." Just to get everyone up to speed, the tweet thread says: --- Did you know that Lupe and the Wolfpack were created by Pat Allee and patterned after Eastern Native American tribes? Pat Allee was an expert on Native Americans, and she decided to pattern the wolf pack after Eastern American tribes. The 2 had intended to develop Lupe and the Wolfpack further in the 3rd season, but it sadly never came to pass.
This wouldn't be Pat and Ben's last time working on such a project. They ended up being the lead writers, conceptual designers, and would provide voice overs for the Museum of the Cherokee Indian in Cherokee, North Carolina. They would also write a new script for the 2007 performance of "Until These Hills," a critically acclaimed play going over the history of the Cherokee of the Eastern region up until they were forcibly removed by US forces in 1838 via the Trail of Tears. Find out more about the works and lives of Ben Hurst and Pat Allee, along with the many works and people which influenced SatAM, in the upcoming book! --- Firstly, hilariously enough, wrong name; the play is called "Unto These Hills," which is easily found via Google search. While looking for sources describing the extent of Hurst and Allee's contribution, I found a thesis paper detailing the history of the play. Despite the tweet suggesting otherwise, the play was not "critically acclaimed" due to Hurst and Allee. Instead, credit goes to Kiowa playwright Hanay Geiogamah, and later Linda West, who is not Cherokee herself but who works directly with the Cherokee Nation. In fact, Hurst and Allee's version seemed to have bombed with critics. Unto These Hills has a long and storied history. It premiered in 1950 as a white pastiche of Cherokee history and culture, where white people would literally dress up in redface and act stereotypically Indian. Nonetheless, the Cherokee were interested in reappropriating the play to reflect their stories more accurately, while also appealing to the general public as a piece of performance art that generates revenue for the nation. In 2006, the Cherokee Historical Association hired Kiowa playwright Hanay Geiogamah to rewrite the original script written by white playwright Kermit Hunter, whose version was characterized as "schoolbook history," and whitewashed. Critics lauded Geiogamah's script for being literate and for reintroducing Native sensibilities, but general audiences found it difficult to relate to and follow. Due to this, as well as somewhat exaggerated issues with tardiness and plagiarism concerns (as in, he... somehow plagiarized his own work), the CHA wound up dropping his version. And in spite of their apparent goals of reappropriating the play for Cherokee sensibilities, they hired Ben Hurst and Pat Allee to punch up the script for the 2007 production. The pair basically got introduced as "Hollywood writers," despite the paper noting that neither Hurst nor Allee had had any writing credits to their names since 1999. Furthermore, the guy who vouched for them, John Tissue, claimed the two had had ten years' experience of writing Cherokee history, but conveniently neglected specifics.
Choice quotes include:
"The CHA replaced Geiogamah the following year with Pat Allee and Ben Hurst, who made their living writing cartoons." "Choosing Allee and Hurst to write the new script showed that the CHA sacrificed its desire for a fully Cherokee story, to use 'veteran Hollywood writers.'" "Their credits, however, consisted of mainly children's cartoons such as 'Tiny Toon Adventures' and two separate 'Sonic the Hedgehog' series. Neither one had any writing credits to their name since 1999." "Tissue, defending his choice, wrote [...] that 'Ben and Pat did write cartoons among many other things including the TV show Taxi but they also have [ten] years experience writing about Cherokee history. I needed that mix.' Tissue did not divulge the details of their work on the Cherokee [...] or strangely enough to newspapers." "Their background in cartoons showed in the very childlike script that played for laughs. The play is more a series of vignettes than a cohesive story with a unified thread running throughout." "Whereas [the original white playwright] Hunter denied the Indians any sense of humor, Allee and Hurst made the Indians cartoonish, filling the script with bad jokes in English." "Instead of using the Kanati and Selu [Cherokee sacred figures] as narrators, Allee and Hurst used a grandmother and grandfather telling bedtime stories to their grandsom and granddaughter, an idea more accessible to white audiences." "Allee and Hurst also added the Cherokee Sequoyah to the script. Though they do address his achievement of creating the Cherokee Syllabary, they also play the situation for laughs. In Sequoyah's first scene, Cherokee warriors mock him for his 'talking leaves': "Junaluska: And how go your efforts? Sequoyah: My writing system? (sighs) It is proving to be most difficult. Junaluska: Well, my friend, I have no doubt you will succeed with the talking leaves. Warrior #3: (laughs) Talking leaves? (picks up a leaf) Hello? (to Sequoyah) There must be something wrong with this one. It doesn't answer. (Warrior #3 shakes the leaf) Hello? Warriors: (laugh)" "After soldiers remove a family from their house, white men come in, bag Indian belongings and take over the property. The main focus of removal here, however, does not occur in Cherokee, but in Nashville, Tennessee. White citizens line the streets to watch the Indians pass through their town. Upset by the occurrences, they bring out blankets, food, and clothing, and some begin crying. Kamama, a small Indian child, mentions this to her grandmother, who responds 'never forget Kamama, there are always good people, no matter what color they are.' Throughout this scene, Cherokees sing the hymn Amazing Grace, and 'after a few stanzas, all the whites join in. The orchestrated score swells, filling the house, and the song is sung in full harmony to a huge dramatic finish. This picture of harmony between the races took the focus off of the impact removal had on the Cherokee people, and showed how the playwrights imagined whites and Indians interacted." "The Association believed that audiences would overwhelmingly enjoy the play."
"Very few newspaper articles or other sources exist detailing the success of the 2007 season, but the few that do discuss the show do not paint a positive picture. The reviewer that felt Geiogamah's piece literate felt that with the return of the traditional stories from the Hunter script present in Allee and Hurst's version brought with it 'the trite storytelling, static staging, and grade-school history lessons' of the original show." "In summation, he called the drama dull, and ended his review saying 'personally... I would rather have watched 'Sonic the Hedgehog.'"
Gee, it's almost like Ben Hurst and Pat Allee got off by being known by people. And I'm also not surprised that someone thinks they can edit history with those two.

"Thank you!" Selene laughed right back, though she did take the compliment. With one more flourish, she finished the last card, leaving them in a nice pile. They bundled everything up per department and ready for the next day to be sent. She nodded at Lupe, putting on her coat as well, throwing a few things back into her Mansur Gavriel bag. Giving herself a once over in the mirror she hung on the back of her office door, Selene smiled at herself. "Yes, I'm ready. All bundled up for the weather. It's not like I was planning to drag you all over the city. I was thinking we could go to that Lounge, on the next avenue." With that, Selene linked her arm through Lupe's and led her out the revolving door of the hotel.
"Oh I'm sure you will achieve just that," Lupe said with a laugh, trying not to get too lost in imagining Selene in the outfit they described. "You got it, boss. And perfect because I'm actually starving and the more you talk about fries the more my stomach is rebelling." She did exactly as Selene asked, actually taking it seriously and not just throwing envelopes around because she wanted to leave. Once they were done though, she was quick to her feet to go back to her desk to gather her things. "I'm just gonna close up at my desk, meet you by the door in five?" And she did just that, shutting down her computer and packing up her bag before she was at the exit waiting for Selene. "You ready? Got your coat on tight enough?"

Thread: Mail-Order Lioness
@leah-the-lioness
“This one isn’t gonna fall out all over me, is it?” Anders asked, pausing with the crowbar wedge underneath the lid of the wooden box. “Cause i had bruises on my shins for weeks after that last one.”
“It won’t.” Mike promised his day shift coworker. “Lupe made me verify that she was stable for travel before she agreed to let me bring her back here. A loose piece or two might have fallen off in transit, but that should be the worst of it.”
“If you say so…” Anders adjusted his uniform cap before putting both hands around the crowbar and pulling back with a strong jerk. The nails holding the box shut popped outbid the wood, and after one or two more from the corners, he and Mike were able to lift off the lid and set it aside.
“Thanks, Anders.” Mike moved to stand in front of the box, and the animatronic within. “You’re good to head out., now. Thanks for the help.”
“It’s the least I could do, with how many shift starts you’ve covered for me.” The taller human put the crowbar down on a nearby work table and headed for the door. “You sure you don’t need any help getting her out?”
“Yeah, it’ll be fine.” Mike shrugged, already reaching up to check on the integrity of his duct tape hold from a few days before. “I’ll get Sam to help me move her, if needed.” Anders made a noise of confirmation and left, closing the door behind him. Mike waited a few extra seconds for his coworker to leave before standing back and looking up at the animatronic.
“The coast is clear.” He said. “How was the trip? Did anything get too knocked around?”

a needle pulling thread
Summary: Jess and Lupe mend Esti's skirt. Or, rather, Lupe does. Characters: Lupe García & Jess McCready, Esti mentioned Word Count: 2.7k A/N: another one from my old WIPs - was originally meant to be part of a larger work on lupe and her relationship with traditional domestic work. title from...well. yeah <3
Jess measures her out a fresh span from a bobbin that she’d tucked in her shirt pocket. She clips it with her teeth and passes it over.
Lupe takes it. Automatically, she sucks the broken tip of the thread, preparing it for the eye of the needle. She registers what she’s done when she feels the slight damp on her lips, the place where it had touched Jess’s mouth. Her eyes flick up. Jess’s gaze meets hers.
Heat flares in Lupe’s stomach. A smirk tugs the corner of her mouth. Not breaking eye contact, she licks her fingers, wrapping the loose ends of the thread around them. Jess’s teeth whiten her bottom lip.

Location: Lupe's Place Starter for @livrelcvande
"Poor guy," Lupe said with a shake of her head as she got the delivery from Emerald Dragon at the door. "Delivery guy clearly has a crush on me and he has no idea I slept with his sister last summer. Which is a bummer because I really want to ask how she's doing and if he has her number but kind of feels like I probably shouldn't," she admitted as she set the food on her small dining table. "I just wish I could give off a bigger gay vibe, you know? Stop men in their tracks before they even open their mouths but alas, I must suffer." Lupe let out a dramatic sigh as she said it and started to take out the cartons to set them aside the food and utensils she had laid out. Her place was still a little bare but she had finally put up some art and pictures from her trips, she had found a dining table at a garage sale and a set of chairs at the thrift shop. With a little help from some friends she had been able to clean all of the wood pieces up and painted them, creating a fun vibe for her dining room space. "If I hold a little dinner party, would you come? I know you don't totally love being around a bunch of people but I'll keep it lowkey," she promised, though Lupe was a bit unfamiliar with that word in practice.
Lupe grabbed her chopsticks and sat back with one of the cartons. "How was the library today? Was anyone a dick to you? Give me their names and I'll take care of it."
