I'm going in for a kinda-complicated dental surgery tomorrow morning (Thursday the 12th), so though I'm going to be around through this evening, I'll be offline for a while afterward.

I'll be fine, back in my bed by midafternoon, and while I'm very afraid, I am also very grateful to at long last have access to some of the health care that I should have been given as a child. I am looking forward to having the appropriate density of teeth for my gene-disordered mouth, and to perhaps no longer bite myself every three days or so forever.

I have instructed the Magical Flying Husband to retain control of my cell phone and computer until he's quite sure that I am sober, and then I expect to be tired and in pain. I'll hopefully be back online inside a couple of days, but it may be some time longer. Wish me luck, darlings.

Good news: we have food and toilet paper!

Bad news: I got a temporary crown right before all this financial shitassery kicked off. I've been gentle and careful and it's lasted a lot longer than the original month that it was meant to. Tonight, it cracked. The dentist already has my permanent crown ready and waiting, but it's going to cost like $600 to have it put in.

I had to ask for donations to buy toilet paper. I do not have 600 bucks for my tooth.

There isn't one in my county or in either of the neighboring counties

Which means I've gotten $1100 of the $1400 I need for the dental appointment tomorrow morning. This whole thing has been so very stressful, without the consideration of having to ask for more help than i should have to.

Surprise! Hiatus over soon

We had to go to the dentist today for @its-voxid and after our insurance, we will have to pay $3500!!! Our insurance is paying for about half of it, so thank the gods, but still that's a lot of money to come up with as quickly as possible - this is not including the root canal he has to have before they can do this other work.

So I am literally ordering soap supplies and will be doing a small store update on Etsy - since I don't have to pay a sub like I do with shopify - and there will be 6 fragrances, both of which will have dice and no dice options.

I'll have my supplies by the end of the week, and will be opening next week sometime. More details soon.

As last year’s project was 22 in ‘22, this year’s is, apparently, going to be Twenty Twen-Teeth.

To wit: my luxury bones are borked. I have a 100% overbite, which is wearing my front teeth, top and bottom, down. They’re already several millimeters shorter than they used to be. This can be fixed! With braces!

…which is going to run me $6.5k.

Sooooo I am going to be pulling out various completed projects to sell, as well as making new ones for the same purpose. I figure if I sell a hundred things at $65 I’m golden. Or 65 things at $100.

Which means I’m setting my base minimum for all the things until further notice at $65, and happily entertain higher offers.

First up:

Crocheted in a 50/50 wool/silk from Juniper Moon Farm, this piece works great as a shawlette on the shoulders and even better as a scarf. I wore it to work today to hold off the chill of a 40F drizzly New England morning because I didn’t want to bother with a sweater. It is soft and comfortable against the skin, and has enough different colors in it to pair well with a variety of outfits.

I hate to let it go, actually, but as the closest one at hand it is first on the block. If you’re interest, please send an offer!

Add something else to the dumpster fire that my life has become.

I've been putting off the dentist. If you've followed for long at all, you already know I have a ton of medical stuff going on at all times. Well, because of all of that, and with the bullshit of covid causing appointments to be ridiculous, I've neglected going forward with a whole lot of the work I've needed to have done.

And now...its not something I'm going to be putting off for much longer. Actually, I'm going to be looking into a dentist that will be able to work with all my issues and somehow, take out the rest of the teeth that I do have left, and fit me for dentures.

I cannot even begin to afford implants, nor can I manage to get what's left fixed to the point that I could save them.

There was a point when I was getting sober that I thought I'd hit my lowest point in my self esteem. Here I am, 5 years later. I wish I could have the same mindset I did then. There wasn't anything I couldn't do. Every single day I am reminded of things I can't do.

Today, it was biting into a piece of pizza. I actually have to use a fork now because I broke one of my lower front teeth a couple days ago. I only have 9 teeth left on the bottom, and they all happen to be up front. (I've made all the hillbilly jokes about not having many teeth, but at least I had the ones that counted when I smiled).

Whatever. Point is... life sucks. It's not getting better or more enjoyable and I'm wondering where the rose colored shades are because I'm really sick of the view I've got on this shit I keep getting handed. Life didn't pass me lemons. Nah. Passed me the dried up peels after everyone else made lemonade. I've been trying to juice them this whole time thinking I was just doing it wrong, when reality was I didn't have the whole fruit to start with.

I'm tired.

I'm so incredibly tired. Of everything.
