Gabriel frowns at the bartender’s words and glances around the establishment. Sure he can feel some love radiating from certain patrons, but nothing that particularly jumps out at him and certainly nothing which would lead an ordinary human to take notice. Typically, the statement wouldn’t give him any sort of pause, but something about tonight…
He can feel the matchbox secure where he’d put it, in his breast pocket. Every now and again its new tenant buzzes about, the vibrations against his chest feeling something like a heartbeat. (He is admittedly not entirely certain what a heartbeat is supposed to feel like, but he figures he’s probably right. He usually is, after all.)
Maybe that’s what leads him to ask, “You think so?”
This turned out way fucking longer than I anticipated LMAO. So the rest is on AO3!
3 things I associate with you: Literally the sweetest person ever, baking fucking RAD looking desserts and 911 celebratory spam - it's so funny when every episode comes out, I learn so much by osmosis.
🥺🥺🥺🥺
911 brain rot is so real right now I'm dragging you all in with me (with love)
Curious about the “Alien Parking Ticket”? (Or only hearing about it for the first time?) You’ve come to the right place!
A little background first: there were 690 tickets originally released with the Ineffable and Celestial Editions of the Illustrated Good Omens as part of the “Folio of Ephemera” in 2019.
One more was a prize in a 2021 giveaway, where it was identified as an “alien parking ticket” - https://discworld.com/seven-day-instagram-giveaway/.
More were available with the campaign for the graphic novel, though they are now sold out, https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dunmanifestin/good-omens/posts/4080374.
What does it actually look like? This is the front and back of a ticket from an Ineffable Edition, image credit to Reddit user lywinis.
The front looks a bit fuzzy because it’s done with lenticular printing (the image appears to move as you tilt it, like this:)
Interestingly, the photo on Kickstarter showed a very slightly different version of the front of the ticket, image credit to Discord user jennythepenny13. It’s still being called an alien parking ticket, and now we know it was issued to Newt by the aliens in the flying saucer.
So what does it say? Spoilers ahead!
Each symbol can be matched one-to-one to the Latin alphabet, or to a digit. After converting, it reads (with a few misspellings):
Most of the digits don’t have enough information to match them up – only 2 and 4 can be inferred from the source material.
The Kickstarter version changes “rotations of your planet” to “temporal units” for unknown reasons.
So it’s not really a parking ticket – it doesn’t even mention parking. But it is a violation ticket issued to humankind for excessive carbon dioxide emissions, high levels of atmospheric hydrocarbons, harnessing artificial wormholes without the proper permits, and insufficient planetary albedo for long-term climate stability. I guess we’ve got work to do!

I thought it might be interesting to look at my top five for the year... except, well when I tell you that Sleep Token kind of took over my music listening this year, I mean that. These are my top 5 per Last.fm for the last 365 days.
So, that's like a really solid rec for that Jake Owen song, "It Don't, He Won't and You Do" if you like country music at all. But even if I expanded my list to the top 10 for the last year... it's just the rest of the "Take Me Back to Eden" Sleep Token album.
So I just went to my most recent likes on YouTube music -
GOSSIP (feat. Tom Morello) by Måneskin
Northern Attitude by Noah Kahan & Hozier (I also like Noah's solo version)
Set You on Fire - Bad Wolves
Basic Channels - Josiah and the Bonnevilles (another good country/folk rec)
B!tch - Spencer Sutherland (if you like pop, don't sleep on Spencer's new album, it's fantastic)
For the prompt list: Confessions - any otp you wish, lovely, because you deserve it.
I’m going to be hopelessly predictable and do characters from The Old Guard whoops
The fire burns gently before them, the embers illuminating their faces in soft light, creating a comfortable atmosphere. Quynh pokes at the embers with the tip of her arrow, boredom clear through her features. They were waiting to ambush a small group of troops from an invading country and they had been delayed by some unknown force. The only thing left to do was wait.
Quynh, despite her millennia of living, was terrible at waiting.
She looks over at her two companions, watching as Yusuf shifts so he can lay his head against Nicolo’s shoulder, mirroring her and Andromoche’s own position.
"Tell me when you two first kissed,” Quynh asks, interrupting the silence between them. Andromache sits up then, her curiosity peaked.
Nicolo looks away, his blush visible even in the low lights of the embers and Yusuf laughs loudly, his whole body shaking in mirth.
“Nicolo broke my nose,” Yusuf smiles fondly, pulling Nicolo close and kissing his cheek briefly. “It was his first, poor thing.”
“Only the broken nose part of that is true,” Nicolo confesses quietly and hides his head in Yusuf’s shoulder as the others laugh.
lywinis replied to your post: There’s a fic I haven’t updated in just over three...
it is 100% fine, because everyone will whiplash and then scurry to read it if you post it, because AN UPDATE YAY. People love seeing updates. Post the thing. C:
I hope so! It’s going up tomorrow! I don’t have the energy to look through the beta notes tonight and post it, I’m still doing physics homework. Remind me never to skip the reading for this many chapters again.

HONESTLY. Even worse when you wanna move houses a smidge over.
me last week when I kept mucking up one house placement in my neighborhood area even with paths and fences set up as guides, ugh
I appreciate Nintendo does want this game to be something you can set down and easily come back to tomorrow, but god that instant gratification gamer thing has me spoiled XD
Court I have never played FarCry 5 but watching you go through it is both hilarious and also makes me want to play, this game in snapshots is UNSETTLING.
sfdgfdg HONESTLY the game in-play can be plenty unsettling at parts, so i’m not surprised that just getting glimpses of bits has the same effect. although. dare i say it....some of the stuff that i haven’t mentioned specifically already? might be even better/worse (depending on how you look at it). so, of course i 110% recommend playing for yourself :’D
52: Do you miss the way things were six months ago?
Strong no!
Six months ago I was fresh to new city, house-sitting for my brother, trying to convince my mum to start house-hunting. We have very little furniture, and I couldn’t turn the light on in the room I was sleeping in, so I either had to go to sleep when the sun did or else get hella eye strain living by the light of my laptop. I was in the first month of training for my new job, so I was working long hours and didn’t have a lot of spare room in my head. I was also recently broken-up-with, and hadn’t had the time to process that beyond going “yeah, okay” and dealing with more pressing things. I didn’t have any friends in new city, and my cat was peeing on the one computer chair we had.
So, it was a bit like the “change happened and now everything sucks” montage in a female-led comedy film. There were good moments (finding a restaurant I like near work! the weather was great!), but in the 6 months since then there have be a lot of long-lasing, meaningful improvements. I’m happy where I am now.
@boston-strong-forever tagged me! Say three things that you're proud of in 2022.
1. ✨🏳️⚧️ TRANSED IT UP 🏳️⚧️✨
After years and years of thinking about it and worrying and questioning, I bit the bullet and made an appointment at Planned Parenthood right after my birthday in May. I've been been on HRT since then. Change is always really hard for me, even if it's a change I know will eventually make me happy, so it's a choice I'm proud I made for myself.
2. I WENT TO THE MCR REUNION TOUR CONCERT BY MYSELF.
I don't have a problem doing things alone, but going to big sensory things like a concert or a hockey game or something alone can be really overwhelming for me. I love MCR but I debated going (even though I had already purchased the tickets) up until the very last minute because it was a work night and I was already very tired. While I did end up being sick for about a week after, I'm proud of myself for going and I'm so glad I went. It was an amazing experience that touched me at the core of my being.
3. I WROTE SO MUCH THIS YEAR.
I wrote like three or fours novels-worth of fic this year; basically exclusively Ted/Trent! This show and pairing made me excited about writing again, after I hadn't been in a long while. It made me think that my vague idea of having a career writing might be possible someday. I'm proud of the work I put into those fics. They may not be the best of the best, but they're mine and I think they're worth being proud of.

Daisy is one with the force okay? maybe she isn’t a formally trained Jedi but she just has this sixth sense and has survived the impossible and it isn’t until she gets trained under Jedi Master Melinda May that she realizes her potential
Jemma is a scientist IN SPACE and she’s trying to figure out the biology of Jedi’s, how they’re one with the force and stuff, along with other things, basically the same but nerdier and with more COOL space stuff
Daisy is a stowaway on Jedi Master Melinda’s ship, it's a small team of rebels/good guys filled with Coulson, Mack, Trip, and Bobbi
Coulson is the one who finds Daisy in the bowels of the ship, and after the group decides that they can trust Daisy she ends up being roommates with Jemma
basically, Daisy and Jemma fall in love while Daisy grows into her role as a Jedi padawan and Jemma comes into her own as a renowned scientist and they have a big gay space wedding
send me an au and i’ll give you 5+ headcanons about it
