Favorite thing about mad scientists?

thats a tough one. Other than the general aesthetics?

For me it's all about the drive. the obsession. The one-track-mindedness of it all. The best mad scientists, in my opinion, have one single goal they'll stop at nothing to achieve. If you just have a guy who's willing to ignore morals and ethics to make a weapon, do a surgery, surgically turn you into a weapon, but doesn't really care about it? that's just a regular shitty person scientist and that's boring.

It's not about just doing fucked up things for fun and profit, it's about the PASSION. It's why medic tf2 is such a good mad scientist because he's just so fucking passionate about putting exotic animal organs into his teammates. It's why I don't really care about faceless evil government scienctist villains in movies you know? If it's just a day job who cares? I want to know about the guy who's life goal is to make an alive fleshy cell phone because he's deeply fucked up as a person not the guy who's doing it because his boss is paying him to make an alive cell phone because the shady government org he works for thinks it will be useful you know?

Background information: neteyam couldn't help but to grow up hating humans he couldn't help it he really took after his mother that way and syulang (the gender bend version of spider) was barely an exception.

Lost in the moment (part one!)

It was a usual morning everyone woke up and washed in the river and of course spider came running up with a smile, while the rest of the family splashed in the water and had fun neytiri and neteyam watched from a slight distance glaring at her.

Neteyam couldn't help but find humans disgusting from the way they look to the clothes they where but spider wasn't as bad I guess.. he thought to him self as she would wear navi clothes and attempt to paint her self as a navi it was kind of funny to watch her try to hiss like a navi.

But any time he found him self thinking any kind of nice thought about her he felt horrible like he was betraying his mother and his people so he was just cold to her

But it never worked she always tried to talk to him she's so sweet and innocent it makes him mad but shes so sheltered how couldn't she not be she spends all her time either with norm or Jake and of course there not gonna tell her anything bad

And as neteyam was in mid thought y/n runs over "nete!" She shouts with a smile, neteyam hates being called this but knows he would get scolded by his father if he expressed this as it would hurt her feeling and he just walks away saying nothing leaving her there sad and disappointed but when she hear the voice of Jake calling her back into the water to swim with him her face lights back up

She is fourteen and not even as tall as tuk that's another thing neteyam hates about humans there so short and fragile if ever accidentally bumped into her could fall and break any of her frail bones

But still he tolerated her more than any other human he's met any time he sees a scienctist he is rude and makes remarks about them in navi not caring if they know what he's saying.

With her he just tried his best to ignore her he doesn't want to insult her as shes so fragile and didn't want a scolding from his father he sees lo'ak get enough to know there not fun

One thing he likes about her is that she always manages to get lo'ak out of trouble Jake has the biggest soft spot for y/n so she helps him to not be so angry.

Jake even named her syulang the navi word for innocent flower and nature representing purity and life

This is after they run in with qaurch and in this story qaurch is not her father and she does not get kid napped and Jake and neytiri decide they need to leave and they make there way to the metkeyina with syulang I'm sorry if it's confusing

It was hard to get the metkeyina to say yes to giving the family sanctuary with a so called demon with them but ronal said that eywa was giving her a sign that she should say yes so she does and the last couple of days have been hard for her neteyam can see it she can't hang out with the family like she used to as they all have to train and she can't train with them she tried to come but got mocked and bullied so bad by ay'ong it actually made her cry and honestly it made neteyam's blood boil to see the tears roll down her face as she ran off and cried that whole right he felt horrible that he didn't defend you in that moment she thinks of him as family and when she needed him he did nothing she would've never done that to him.

So when he came back into the mauri and hear the sounds of her crying he felt a tightness in his heart and a pit of his stomach wondering what happened now maybe he wasn't there for her before but maybe he could now..?

So he goes to find her and he takes a deep breath trying his best to wipe off his usual cold face and sits down next to her where she's laying down curled in with her tears and she sits up looking at him before looking away as if she was hoping it was some one els "I'm sorry" he says and she looks shocked as this is honestly the first time he's ever spoke to her she always thought he either didn't speak English or hated her guess it was the secound she thinks as she lays back down in her ball "i-its ok i-im a demon i-i know I -im horrible even though I've never d..done a..anything wrong to anyone!" she says tears rolling out of her face she's never had to deal with negative emotions quite like this before coming here so this is all new to her she's shaking a bit and looks like she's struggling to breath and neteyam feels his chest tighten again and a tear rolls down his face

Oh my God how could he have never noticed her she's so sweet she's literally never stepped on a bug on purpose she loves neteyam and everyone who meets her eyes so much how could he have been so cruel to het ignoring her making her feel like an outsider he left her to defend her self against people being mean to her who are twice her size!

And when he REALLY looks at her she's beautiful her slim soft figure and and when he reaches his hand out to stroke her cheek her skin feels so...so soft her eyes being so green like the leaves of his favorite plant trees and man he was lieing to him self she looks great in navi clothes how could he have over looked her

And he smells her her sent is like pine trees and fresh water not nasty like the rest of the humans he's smelt how could he have never smelled her before it's intoxicating and he starts to feel in tranced with her and pulls her face towards him and kisses her deeply completely lost in the moment.
