I am not biased i swear- BUT LIKE SIGMA IS THE BEST ONE TO SLEEP WITH.

To be completely honest, the first time you two shared a bed he was a bit nervous to do so.

When you first cuddled close to Sigma he felt surprised but his instincts quickly kicked in and he wrapped his arms around you as well.

He felt at ease when you two first embraced each other, he felt safe… he felt at home.

As he is the manager of the sky casino, he tends to stay up really late…up until the early hours of the morning; usually around 3am, you sense someone slowly crawl into bed next to you, carefully slipping under the covers, you feel soft slender hands wrap around your body with a soft tired sigh as he attempts to not wake you up.

On most nights, you’d find yourself entangled in sigmas arms, your leg comfortably laid over his as sigma’s soft unconscious head rests on your chest.

Your body warmth combined with his makes for the perfect cozy blanket to protect yourself from the often cold temperatures of the grand sky casino.

Unfortunately, as much as his hair is long and luscious, it does tend to tickle your face or you accidentally lay on it.

(You once woke up with some of his hair in your mouth-).

So to avoid this issue, he tends to sleep with a bun or just a small braid, for your sake.

“How does my bun look?”

“It looks good! But Sigma, are you sure it doesn’t hurt keeping your hair tied up when you sleep?”

“No not really, plus it’s either this or you accidentally eat my hair while we sleep”

Tecchou

Let me start off by saying- Tecchou is so quiet and still when he sleeps, i kid you not he does not move an inch like- sir are you alive?.

(If you ask him why he’s always so still and quiet, he’ll respond with “Being able to stay still and quiet even during slumber is good for training to stay quiet when enemies attack, keeping inner peace is a maj-“ *Proceeds to rant*).

Tecchou isn’t overly clingy, he wants to respect your boundaries and tends to give you your own space.

But of course, he would never deny you cuddles if you do so kindly ask.

He doesn’t have a preference per say when it comes to cuddling or holding each other; he can be the one cuddling or the one being cuddled, really doesn’t mind either.

Tecchou will softly wrap his toned arms around your body, his hands are rough from all of his sword training and battles but he makes sure to move his hands with a gentle pace as he soothes your back.

If he is big spooning you, he has a habit of nuzzling his face into your shoulder, you can feel his warm and soft breath against your skin.

He also likes to be held by you, he finds peace and warmth in your arms after a long stressful day at work.

Surprisingly he doesn’t snore at all, his breaths are always soft and quiet.

Every night before bed, Tecchou drinks this sort of strong tea that he mixes with some spices, every night is a new mix.

(May god forbid he offers you some-)

Nikolai

Sleeping with Nikolai is Definitely an-…Experience-

I kid you not don’t even be surprised if you wake up on the floor with NIkolai spread out like a starfish on the bed, snoring like a jolly green giant as a snot bubble grows and shrinks as he drools.

Definitely starts random pillow fights in the middle of the night.

All jokes aside, Nikolai is definitely big on cuddles, he mostly big spoons but enjoys being the little spoon as well.

A cuddling position he really enjoys is when you lay on top of him like a weighted blanket as he sleeps comfortably.

Nikolai just likes being able to hold you or be held by you, he doesn’t mind as long as you two are close.

When he’s unable to sleep, he tends to play with your hair and sometimes makes little braids and such.

He radiates heat like a dang heater…like- your body gets so warm to the point it sometimes gets uncomfortable.

It doesn’t help that he sleeps with many covers and blankets.

If you try to move away, Nikolai will whine and pout like a 5 year old.

Ranpo

Sleeping with Ranpo can really go two ways, “Messy/ takes up the whole bed” or “Peaceful cuddle session”.

For example; on some nights, it starts off with you two peacefully holding eachother.

Yet by the next morning, your head would be half off the bed as Ranpo’s head rests on his own pillow, his leg would be over your stomach as loud snores fill the room.

All the pillows, except for Ranpo’s, are on the floor while the covers half cover your sleeping body and favor Ranpo’s.

(He will literally fight you for the blankets- definitely bit you once).

But on some nights (usually nights where Ranpo solved a case), it can be more peaceful and loving.

Ranpo curls up in a small ball as you two lay in bed, he clings on to your side like a small Koala.

You play with his hair as he starts to drift off to sleep, you softly praise him for his hard work that day and how good of a job he did.

He falls asleep with a small smile decorating his face.

If you bring up his clinginess the next morning he will act so offended and say it’s absurd and just deny deny deny.

Do honorifics seem kind of silly? Well, besides the formality of them, they could work for anyone who might view them as a status. Fictives might have a certain ranking or status from their source. Otherkin might see their species as having some kind of required rank or formality based on the culture. Nonhumans in general might want to do away with any honorifics that refer to them as human, gendered or not. I think they could be useful and fun! 💙💚

I think out of all the characters from Tokyo revenges I thought of (you can see who else I thought of in the round-ups) I think Manjiro fits you best! He’s a pretty chill guy as I see in the manga and anime so he can deal with your cold and sarcastic attitude, I’d like to believe that he was able to make friends with you very well since that’s how he usually is, you’d just have to deal with the harmless pranks from him but if you don’t like it then you can probably get him to stop anyways.

I can see you two acting flirty with each other playfully, and since brutality honest you won’t have to worry about losing him if you think that otherwise… he kind of likes it, if you ever wanted to talk about any problems you have or really having you can always go to sano if you ever want to, I really think he would like to be able to get you to tell him at least 1 of your problems, he’s be delightful to fix it for you! He also likes how creative you can be when you get to business, he thinks that’s an amazing part about you he holds dearly, I think it’s gonna be a bit hard to make manjiro mad but you can possibly get him a tiny bit riled up though I doubt you can… so I guess there’s always a challenge!

I can totally see him playing video games with you! I’m gonna be genuinely honest here but I feel like it’s hard to find a good character for you here since there’s not a lot of good characters I could think of since I haven’t been in the fandom for a long time… so I think Wendy was a good choice /IMO since she seems to fit with you well and also because you didn’t seem to add what gender you wanted… but anyways here I go! And the headcanons are shorter only for this one.

Since I matched you with her I think you would genuinely go with with very chill people, when she first saw you she definitely thought of how cute you were! Even though you appeared as cold at first she still wanted to be with you! She likes that you can be able to call people out, she basically has her scary dog privileges now LOL, it was totally easy for her to get along with you since she’s also pretty polite and and kind-hearted, she’ll always be there for you whenever somethings going on and you bet she’ll be taking care of you a lot.

Whenever you isolate she’ll always check up on you, if you need time alone she’ll give you that time alone but she’ll be a bit worried, she’ll also tell you that you can open up to her if you’d like and that she’s always gonna be there for you! She’ll offer to watch your favorite shows with you, play your favorite games or get something to eat from somewhere you really love! I think she’ll also draw with you too, you guys totally give each other ideas on what to draw if you guys are ever bored.

I can really see you guys being together a lot, she definitely found you a bit interesting at first when she first met you, I have a feeling you guys were like rivals at first to lovers after, even if you saw her “true self” I don’t think she ever wanted you to go… poof from the world… there was something in you that made her feel something, something that made her heart start melting faster then the sun could ever.

I think she liked your cold personality a lot, in fact you seem somewhat similar to her, I don’t really know exactly why you guys are alike but it’s just because of how she acts when she isn’t her true self, she also likes that your at least polite so you won’t have to deal with some major problems from her, she’s also not afraid at you, why would she be? she doesn’t think your intimating at all, and nor do you which probably caught her a little off guard, she doesn’t force you to open up to her but she would suggest that your always welcome to open up to her if you’d like, she can always deal with your problems too, like if someone’s bothering you? don’t worry she’ll deal with it and no, you don’t need to know where that person went the next day…

I feel like you can somewhat get her pissed off if you rile her up good enough, which is pretty rare with the graceful and calm composure she puts out to everyone, you’ll never be only now that you have her, oh to mention this too! she always gives you money, usually on birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc, I think she would bring home some souvenirs when she gets back from a work trip, all in all I’m giving this relationship a solid 10/10.

The audience is inclined to empathize with Rhaenyra being denied the Iron Throne because of her gender. The twist is, she’s an absolutely godawful monarch, as bad as the unworthy Aegon II. The second of this one-two punch is that it’s quite obvious from the beginning of “The Blacks and the Greens” that she is exactly this sort of terrible person. It plays on the audience’s sympathy. Then, you have the competing legal succession traditions (muddying the waters of the straight interpretation of the Aegon II/Rhaenyra conflict) that Viserys deliberately mucked up and the tragic nature of the Dance is revealed; it could have all been avoided had Viserys I just thought things through. The Dance was avoidable, but Viserys didn’t care enough to avoid it. It’s Martin’s views on conflicts like the First World War, where a generation destroys themselves for something that’s ultimately unworthy and futile. 

I can respect it for the attempt even if I thought the execution wasn’t up to snuff and the poor characterization and plotting of the war kept me from immersing myself.

A response to this post and all those about Rhaenyra's fall that came before.

In medieval times a woman could not bear arms; therefore a woman could not take on a role which, even symbolically, required her to carry arms. In medieval times a woman who took on an overt military role was an aberration. Lyon, A. (2006). The place of women in European royal succession in the middle ages.

I find it funny how you don't specify where in "The Blacks and the Greens" Rhaenyra showed herself truly incapable of being at least a so-so ruler. Funny how in the denial of her being at least a so-so ruler, Aerys I, Jaehaerys II, Daeron I, and Baelor I (these last two who had their uncle Viserys II and Elaena Targaryen actually be the people to spearhead and maintain much of their rule for them), you completely ignore how there have always been so-so male rulers. Funny that if your argument--by bringing up her in the first black council and Rhaenys, Celtigar, Daemon, etc were the ones mainly deliberating--you think that she's letting people decide for her instead of her agreeing to their proposals OR that other kings/heirs in the Targ dynasty have not done the same (the list of men I already gave) who were themselves so-so. I just think that is funny of you, anon.

You may not like the fact that a person who went through a stillbirth and two older children's deaths through violence. You may not like that the Dance centers on a woman pressing for power/has one as its protagonist after all the other Targ women being pushed to the side (succession or just treated as threats, i.e., Queen Dowager Rhaena) or supporting a man's claim. Or officially thought of as "subordinate" to the ruling man (Queens Visenya and Rhaenys). That she was legitimately given access to a position of power blocked from women since the beginning of the dynasty. That there is no substantial, logical reason why she shouldn't have that power or right to it. That's on you, anon.

I don't really care that you think that people feeling for Rhaenyra's plight is a "cheap" sympathy trick to "trick" us into thinking she is faultless or that she's 100% at fault for her death and loss of power. I don't live a blind life. If you can't "immerse" yourself because you cannot see the misogyny and how it overtakes and defines every action people took against Rhaenyra, you're either a woman with a lot of internalized misogyny, or a very privileged man. Or an enby who lived as either at one point and hasn't totally gotten rid of it. Privileged people or those who faced a lot of misogynist abuse, who try try to "solve" it by totally ignoring feminist critiques of patriarchy tend to have major blind spots in how society will treat a woman, diminish the reasons why she receives unfair critiques, etc.

The point of the Dance narratively was to give a historical context for Dany, show where & how Targ power truly declined, and its connection to the denigration and diminishment of female leadership. Using the personality of a woman to argue she should not rule before she actually does anything stupid or amoral and not doing the same for the men is misogynist.

Viserys yes didn't prepare her as much as a king would their sons....that should tell you how even fathers can be affected by misogynist double standards (men fight, women stay behind bc men are biologically stronger). And this definitely makes her less strategic (as a Watsonian answer). But one doesn't even have to be a fighter to be a so-so/good leader, and Maegor the Cruel proves that. Plus, if we were to stay with your argument, shouldn't this lessen the blame on her when you assigned most of it on her father in the first place?

If you truly think that Rhaenyra's fall had nothing to do with misogyny or that misogyny only played a small role in her fall, that it was all her fault, you have the option of just blocking me because you're not going to get a concession about this. Rhaenyra may have made bad choices, but most of them were either things most nobles--man or woman--would do, already have done--and mainly at an even worse time/place--or they came about because other persons intentionally made critical measures to debilitate her ability to improve the lives of the Kingslanders and herself (rumors, Shepherd's "sermons" at a time where fear was heightened, and stealing of treasury). All of this began with Alicent and the greens decision to use patriarchal feelings against female leaders who have such power through their own right instead of a son or husband. (Even male heirs have bestowed heirship through their father's words customarily. The problem was that they did not want a woman in the same circumstance.)

Her going after the dragonseeds and her decisions regarding Rosby & Stokeworth were those choices that were true errors (short term and long term) on her part while also being made under extreme pressure and conditions. It is only her blood purist/misogynoir against Nettles that truly makes her morally deserve not having power. Alicent and the greens also are morally AND made terrible choices either out of rage or spite in critical times or for merely self-serving reasons. Yet Rhaenyra is the person dragged for the accusations of such, showing a double standard.

The Dance showed the wrongness of not how one rules, but how wrong it was to block women from the same positions of power as men have had for centuries. Point blank, period.

When she got to Hogwarts, her experience was almost a bit stifling and she frequently longed for the outdoors, feeling almost beyond her peers (whether or not such a perception was truly accurate). Her father, however, couldn't have been happier that she was in an actual school and faring relatively well, as he had thought it would turn out much worse

Charis hadn't been quite sure what to make of her house placement when she first got to Hgowarts. At first, she didn't think much of it beyond it being the "ambitious House," but as she came to realize the kind of identity valuation that her peers made of her once the hat had made its decision, she felt slightly resentful. She may not have been entirely on the side of fraternizing with no-majs/muggles (and being placed in such a house felt more like a callout than an affirmation) but she had nothing against squibs or those born from non-magical parents as some of her housemates seemed to. Her placement in Slytherin forced her to call into question some of her belief systems and a sense of hypocrisy that she wasn't aware of.

Born in southern Britain, Drusilla was a pureblood from a middle-class and opportunistic family who relished in the chance to marry their children off to powerful wizarding families such as the Blacks and the Zabinis. The Northmoors were equally as good of a match, not necessarily for their perspectives on blood purity, but for fabled whispers of a power long forgotten or rather lost to time as the treasure of the united Northmoor, Fenwick, and Kenway clans was locked away under quest and shrouded in mystery.

Thus, Drusilla was arranged to be married to Elchion Northmoor a couple of years after graduating from Hogwarts. It was not a match of love, but they came to care for one another as one would care for a companion. For many years they struggled to have children, and to take her away from the prying eyes of British wizarding society, Elchion brought her to America to reacquaint himself and introduce her to the families he had been close with as a child where even their great grandfathers' grandfathers had known one another.

Charis was, unfortunately, too young to remember her mother as she had died not too long after giving birth to Amantha, an unplanned "October surprise" of sorts.

Drusilla had already been fairly old to have even had Charis, and at the time that she had to give birth to Amantha the family could not reach a wizarding hospital and so they entered a muggle one. Unfortunately, they were not able to keep her alive, and this further fueled Elchion's distrust of muggles.

Father: Elchion Northmoor (b. 1846)

Elchion was somewhat of a soft soul prone to vices, though no more so than his dear friend Terrence Kenway. Even in spite of his stern and often pensive manner, by comparison Elchion was rather gentle

Charis had never known her father to ever be cruel to her or Amantha, only ever particular about raising them with standards and grace. He himself was a man of class even when "roughing it" in the vast American countryside, but he was never above deceit as a means to an end and his perspective on muggles/no-majs was quite close-minded, perceiving them to be of a threat worth not taking lightly

Drusilla may not have been the love of his life but he was still distraught and infuriated by her passing and would partake in alcohol quite often. In spite of his sorry state he still loved both his children and wished the best for them and for that, Charis loved him dearly, even if she didn't always feel inclined to love his rules.

Though he never remarried, after Charis and Amantha grew to adulthood and left his care, he settled into a small estate in southern France and took with him a few of the Fenwicks that had grown tired of traveling around America

Severus Snape (A bad Character Analysis Essay)

When we first meet Severus Snape in class, potions professor at Hogwarts, he quizzes Potter on his knowledge. Such as,

"Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

It might seem like a throwaway comment, something we won’t ever think about again. And you wouldn’t be wrong not to, it isn’t that hard to dislike the character.

But it has quite an interesting meaning in truth, one that I think would help you see him in a different light. A different side of him, to say, that we never really get to see with our own eyes as Harry Potter.

I believe that Severus Snape can properly show the theme of which, ‘trying to fit in and conform to a person’s beliefs can lead to consequences’.

I cannot say I can truly explain why and how Snape is, but what I can do is show you a part of him that we don’t get to see often in the books, in which, I will assume you have read the series, as the following will contain major spoilers, many from the installments later down in the line.

My main source of course, will be the fandom wiki for Harry Potter, for I do not own the books myself, and therefore cannot quote word-for-word. When referencing something else, it’ll be mentioned explicitly.

I will also be noting blood status of mentioned characters, and using the fanmade term ‘wixen’ as a gender-neutral word for both witches and wizards. I’ll also be using first names and last names interchangeably.

To start with, we must look at the man’s past.

Severus Snape was born to Tobias Snape (a muggle, otherwise known as a no-maj in the universe’s America, or non-magical) and Eileen Prince (a pureblood witch) as a halfblood.

His father was abusive (likely what would later nudge him to the muggle-hating purebloods), and he grew up in Spinner’s End, where he would meet a Lily Evans (a muggleborn, or a wixen born from muggles), alongside her family.

Snape would notice that she had magic, and would lead to a friendship and a growing crush that would follow them to Hogwarts.

Of course, one James Potter (a pureblood wizard) would fall in love with Evans at first sight, and disapproving of Snape’s friendship with the female, not to mention awful first impression on the train to Hogwarts, would antagonize him and act as a huge bully under the guise of a troublemaking pranker (not that anyone would notice, considering Snape was in Slytherin, with its infamous reputation of a dark wixen ‘breeding ground’. It’s likely James didn’t even realize he was being so cruel).

Since the two were in separate houses, Gryffindor and Slytherin respectfully, they ended up in different friend groups. Snape, in his desire to fit in despite his halfblood status, started following their example, albeit reluctantly.

This would come to a head when one day, Potter would pull an awful ‘prank’, “turning him upside-down to reveal his underwear in front of many students, including Lily.”

Lily would come to Snape’s defense, but as he was horribly humiliated and absolutely furious at James, would lead to him calling Lily a mudblood (an offensive term against muggleborns).

Snape would regret it immediately of course, apologizing profusely, but Evans wouldn’t accept it, and it would cause a drift in their friendship, and they would fall into their own friend circles.

(It also may not help that due to a nearly lethal prank by Sirius Black, a pureblood wizard, in which he was saved by Potter, thus owed a life debt to him.)

Lily would end up befriending the Marauders (James and his friends), and later in a relationship with James Potter, while Snape would be proving his worth to the Death Eaters (followers of Voldemort, a muggle-hating and muggle-killing dark lord), later becoming one himself.

Now that we’re mainly caught up, we’re now out of Hogwarts, and headfirst into the First Wizarding War, where Voldemort (a halfblood wizard, not that anyone besides his old and deceased classmates knew of his status) is at his peak.

Snape, as a follower of Voldemort after his subsequent falling out with Evans, had overheard a part of a prophecy from Sybill Trelawney (a halfblood witch), in which she was at an interview for the position of Divination Professor for Hogwarts, supervised by Headmaster Dumbledore (a halfblood wizard).

"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches… Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies…." (Rowling. I cannot be sure which book it was, but I believe it to be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.)

Regardless, Snape would tell Voldemort of his findings, although it couldn’t have been known who was meant for the prophecy until later on.

When it’d been narrowed down to either Harry Potter or Neville Longbottom, Voldemort would choose the former, and Snape would feel immense regret (but the Death Eaters were a ‘join or die’ group, a life commitment so to say), even going so far as to beg Voldemort to spare her, who would agree.

Snape would then turn right back around, unable to trust the dark lord who could switch moods at the turn of a dime, Snape would turn traitor and ask Dumbledore to protect Lily.

Lily and James would be hidden under the Fidelius charm (meaning they couldn’t be found, and no one could say where they lived either unless they were let in on the ‘secret’, in which the secret keeper, someone other than them, would be able to control who knew, but it could not be forced), and in exchange, “Dumbledore agreed but insisted that Severus serve him as a spy”.

Regardless, the Potters (excluding Harry) would die, as the secret keeper, Peter Pettigrew would sell them out to Voldemort.

Snape would be devastated, and firmly now against the dark side, as if rose-tinted glasses had shattered at their deaths (although he wouldn’t know that technically the dark lord did do as he asked, giving Lily a chance to let him kill Harry instead, not that Lily would let him, and she would die anyway).

Due to the previously mentioned life debt owed to James Potter, due to his death, it would then be owed to his heir, Harry Potter, not that Harry would know of this, in which he would make sure the child was ‘safe’, although the fact that Harry looked so similar to James sparked an anger within him that would make him increasingly petty and antagonistic towards Harry.

We’re all caught up now. So let’s turn back around and finally take a look at that quote.

"Tell me, what would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" (Rowling, Chapter 8, Philosopher's Stone)

First off, according to the Wizarding World website, the asphodel is a member of the lily family, and means “remembered beyond the tomb”, or “my regrets follow you to the grave”.

Following that, the definition of wormwood is regret, or bitterness.

So, what do you get when you infuse asphodel with wormwood?

A lily, remembered beyond the tomb, infused with regret and bitterness.

Otherwise along the lines of what could be seen as, “I regret”, or “I apologize — for Lily’s death”, or any other mix of regretting and being bitter about Lily’s death, and how he remembers her. It could be ‘translated’ into so many different words that would ultimately mean the same thing.

Therefore, it was believed by fans that the first thing Snape had said to Harry was an apology for Lily’s death, ultimately until it would actually be confirmed, not that Harry would notice, or likely even remember the exact words.

And that is the exact reason why I believe that Severus and his story embodies the idea that attempting to fit in and conform to a person’s belief you don’t believe in, can lead to consequences, of the following would be regret and pain. ..Or wormwood (which, hey, you can come out of this learning a new word, hurray).

Because he wanted to fit in with the Slytherin crowd, which would eventually all be for naught as his friendship with Evans would ultimately shatter due to his muggle-hating company, and she would die before they could ever make up.

The quote’s meaning outright shows another side of him, a regretful side of him when he first speaks to Harry.

..Don’t get me wrong though, he was still rude with his cold exterior compared to a softer yet bitter inside.

thinking about how fucked up it is to be raised as a woman (who is now nonbinary and aroace)

something that always upset me was the fact that my own mother constantly hammered in the idea that whenever people were nice to me, it was because i was a pretty young girl, that in some cases, grown men were trying to flirt with. (disclaimer; i know fair well that people being more polite to 'pretty' people is very much true, and i am a very fair-skinned, skinny and petite white person that fits all the bills of being conventionally attractive, along with having a mom whose got some issues. this comes from the 'pretty' perspective and i am very aware of that.)

i was 11 for some of this. 13. and yet, every time the deli man smiled at me, or some real estate guy made a joke with my friend and i on the street, it's because they thought i was a pretty young girl. looking back at it, maybe they were right. but i couldn't believe any type of kindness didn't have some ulterior motive to it. that grown fucking men weren't trying to flirt with a 13 y/o girl.

and the fucked up thing is that my own mom was the one enforcing this most of the time. by taking what i thought were just nice, human kindness, be put in the frame of "it's because you're a (pretty) young girl)." because they were being nice to me, it should be a privilege, and not as weird as that concept and that type of attention seems???

it's really fucked up. to be actively told as a then-young-girl that the kindness came with strings of people wanting something from me. and my mother's insinuations of this didn't stop (despite me saying framing it as flirting made me uncomfortable) until i came out as nonbinary and was very adamant about not being attracted to people, nor being a girl at all.

i still had it easy, i know that. but it's still fucked up.
