also can I just say. the difference between the joy of fit and bagi having a full day with blue, getting acquainted with the base, reuniting with their loved ones, all relieved to have more materials and more of a team - and then the absolute misery of etoiles and roier, moving the few valuable possessions red has to a new base that got immediately discovered anyway, losing all their gear, getting it back, then burning it themselves before killing eachother, is just so fucking funny. the new blues had freshman orientation while the new reds had a trial by fire canon event

I was told by someone that I couldn’t call myself a transsexual because I had to go off T for health reasons and I haven’t had any gender affirming surgeries yet since I’m poor and disabled. Is this true? What are like, the requirements to be a transsexual? /gen

This might seem too... straightforward, but genuinely, medical transition is so complex and individual that it's worthless to make it so ridged. There are so many reasons you have to stop some aspect(s) of transition, even if you didn't want to! That doesn't mean you never transitioned or that it's "lesser" now that you stopped.

Genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, I, for one, couldn't care less if you call yourself a transsexual. To my mind, it is as political as it is an identity. Being a transsexual isn't just about your identity but also your place in this world. "Transsexual menace" isn't just a cutesy little slogan but a political battle cry. It can be an attitude about changing sex, about the lucid and plastic nature of people, and so much more.

The word transsexual was made and popularized, honestly, with the idea that we are separate from others. I think we can take this back and make it ours. We can start by actually making it our own, not the cis world's own.

I wish I could tell my 9-year old self that no, growing up and getting excited about "boring" things like kitchen appliances isn't sad, because contrary to what people would have you think it DOESN'T tend to totally change who you are as a person and replace everything else you love - they add to what makes you happy, they don't replace a damned thing, and the excitement is VERY genuine

But since I can't do that I'll just put it out here for any younger people who need it

You grow to love "boring" things because they improve your life, not because it's the only thing you're "allowed" to get excited about once you reach a certain age

Also! That stage in life has nothing to do with numerical age; you can fall in love with something "boring" at any time and it feels exactly the same! Loving the new kitchen appliance as an adult is no different from loving the Easy-Bake oven or the first thing you learned to make your own recipes with as a kid! It's not "turning into your parents" (scary), it's bringing out new joy in YOU! It's fucking awesome!

Still rolling why Akari might've been yoinked in my head (mistaken for Dawn? From a wealthy family they ran away from? Clones of former hisuians that escaped and are wanted? Upset a stalker on the subway?) but Rei was with her when it happened since they live together. Akari manages to get Rei to escape with their pikachus (they both have pikachus. Twin pikachus? Maybe.) but gets grabbed as a result. Rei is obviously a wreck and tries to chase after whoever took his twin, but they vanish like dust in the wind and he's left standing in the middle of the street with two upset, sparking mice. He manages to eventually get to the authorities to report her abduction and their home turns into a crime scene. He has to stay at a hotel and he's so dumbstruck by the night that he passes out.

Neither of the younger twins show up in the morning which throws the whole gear station groove off. They've called out sick before, sometimes one and sometimes both, and they've run late, but they've never just not shown up. And never neither of them completely ghosting the station. Everybody is concerned, especially when their phones can't be reached, so someone from the station cuts early to go check on them. And then they call Ingo or Emmet frantic bc the twins' home is a crime scene??? What if they're dead???

Emmet starts blowin up Akari and reis phones while he and Ingo run out bc holy shit the babies??? The kids??? The CRIME SCENE??? They're nearly at the listed residence when Rei picks up, groggy as fuck and voice hoarse. Emmet starts demanding to know what happened and Rei just breaks down into tears, explaining that the home had been broken into the day before and Akari had been taken, had pushed him out of the way so he'd escaped. He's practically hysterical as he goes over it again until Emmet promises that they'll come pick him up and he can stay with him or ingo so he's not alone. Ingo sends a message to the group chat that Akari's been kidnapped and everyone is demanding to know WHAT THE FUCK??? WHAT THE FUCK!!!

Rei gets picked up by the twins and it's weird for all involved that there is one set of twins and not the other. There's a weird empty space by Rei's side even though both shoulders hold a Pikachu. Ingo & Emmet silently guide him out, they go and pick up some of his stuff (clothes, cause he's still in his PJs, tooth brush & tooth paste, etc) and they go to the apartment where Ingo and Emmet live. They don't technically live Together, but their rooms are right next door to each other with a connecting door. They are, after all, Grown Ass Adults who need their own space as much as they're a set. Ingo is the only one with a spare room so Rei settles his stuff there, and then he crashes again while the twins try to figure out what they're going to do (bc like hell are they going to let this go unchecked and let the authorities handle it on their own??? Fuck no, that's their family, their employee, their kid. They're gonna get her back.)

I still have a really big soft spot for ESO's class design tbh, I think having to realistically make every spec able to perform every MMO role while also having to make every one of those classes feel noticeably unique and different even in the same role was a really fun design decision

Hey here's a hot take that you might disagree with but it's in my brain so I'm sharing it anyways: there's a strong possibility that Spade King did NOT, in fact, lock up the other three kings. Like, Seam uses the passive voice to talk about the incident "...And three of the kings were locked away. The remaining king...", and the other three kings don't mention anything about Spade King either. So yes, it's still possible that Spade King locked them up, but that passive voice stuff seems intentional, and what with the fact that they're *still* locked up as well even though Spade King is very much not in power...I feel like something's up. What that is I have no idea, but fuck.

this would make the whole ch1 situation even funnier because it implies that spade didnt even contribute to the coup that put him in power. the knight had to do it for him. if this is true then king spade is canonly 0-3. has not won a single fight that wasnt against a ten year old. the knight knew his ass couldn’t beat the other kings in a fight so they did it for him. he didn’t feel like being responsible for the child he willingly had so he passed the kid off to the least competent person available and called it a day. THEN he spent the entire chapter trying to avoid having to leave his house or get his hands dirty with teenager blood, to the point of getting his own third grader son to play hitman and do it for him. this man will die kicking and screaming before he will be forced to act on his own behalf god bless
