Wizarding World - Mancers

Within the Wizarding World, there are 2 types of magic users. The typical sort that we see everywhere in the movies & books, then there are mancers who have a certain predilection to a certain element &, via studying said element, are able to learn how to manipulate it with a great deal of mastery without needing a wand. Of course, they start out needing a wand, but with repeated use & familiarity with a spell, they become able to use it without one.

Those able to become mancers are very rare & is thought to be a dying art. Godric Gryffindor was one of the last known pyromancers.

Now, being a mancer doesn't bar one from using other spells via their wand, but depending on the element of the spell, may find certain ones unusable due to being in direct opposition with their prime element. So, a cryomancer would not be able to use fire spells very easily.

Part of the reason why there are practically no mancers these days is because there is no concrete way to determine if someone is one.
