as someone oin their fourties who has worked in customer service over the phone and in person: they did not get the correct training.

It's a problem from both ends; with customers actively on a call and service workers not greeting at all.

I'm there anyway, might as well greet with a simple "hello", so the other person knows I'm there and not busy.

And this is not a new issue, but it has been amplified by today's loss of public behaviour. That is the core issue. People have forgotten that some things are not done in public. And i am not talking about wearing sweatpants.

It is not enough that you be attentive and do your job, you must also pay obeisance to me as a customer! If you fail to do this, you are actively victimizing me. BE PERFORMATIVE HAPPY FOR ME OR ELSE!

I'm very firmly a millennial and have been through really extensive customer service training. I DO automatically greet people with 'come on in' or 'I'll be with you in just a minute, please have a seat'

But I honestly completely understand and accept the GenZ stance of 'I presume my mic is muted until you address me' and 'I do not want to bother you; I am here waiting for you to interact with me'

How to make me hate you while flying:

Step 1: Make sure you are on the aisle seat and I am in the middle seat of a 5+ hour flight.

Step 2: Do not respect the "middle seat gets both armrests" rule, because this is the only dignity afforded to those of us flying bitch, and use the arm rest for the majority of the flight.

Step 3: Intermittently play audio on your phone without any form of headphones. I have been irritated with people who do not use headphones (type doesn't matter), but this is the worst place this has occurred (hospital waiting area has now been bumped to 2nd place). Even though nosie-cancelling ear buds, I can hear your bullshit and multiple crying babies. This is not helping with flight-based anxiety.

Step 4: Call your friend while we're stuck on the tarmac after a long fucking flight ON SPEAKER PHONE, NOT EVEN REGULAR PHONE MODE, FUCKING SPEAKER!

Step 5: I politely ask you to be quieter because my headphones are dead and I - UNLIKE YOU - am now being quiet and polite, and you thankfully end your call. I detest you slightly less until you start scrolling through TikTok WITH SOUND ON on minutes later.

I so desperately need to see more folks write abt the inherent dynamic of how Cygate is like. a very much mutual, back-and-forth protective relationship. They protect /eachother/ and I think that thats such an important part of it all. Tailgate gets dumbed down a lot but he’s soooo far from stupid or plainly naive, his naivety comes from his optimistic attitude and lack of experience with more extreme situations. But he’s so fucking smart, and hes a stubborn lil’ shit, and he’s gathered every bit of how Cyclonus works and keeps it all in mind for whenever something happens and the guy /needs/ someone who /gets/ him to step in.

The “See, that wasn’t so difficult.” line speaks soooo many words. He’s so fucking patient man, if there’s one thing he has oodles of experience with it’s the passage of time having to be spent for a Good Outcome. That’s sorta what the whole arc of that development was about, showing what /he/ is willing to do. They are equal in what they give and take. They’re anchors for eachother and I NEED more of that it’s like my favorite thing to see in art and writing of them. They’re going to make me so ill i genuinely teared up writing this wtf

I saw someone on reddit a while back say that Toriyama wasn't a very good storyteller because he's more interested in jokes and I haven't stopped thinking about it.

I can't imagine people who think like that practice critical analysis or creative endeavors, least of all creating comics, and I'm going to explain what I mean using one of my favorite panels from the manga:

Toriyama introduces two new villains who were only mentioned off-screen as being much stronger than Raditz. This one panel both introduces these characters and tells you right away:

The smaller of the two is the superior, based on his attire, the fact that he's in the foreground, and he's the one eating

The superior is callous, both because of his dialogue and the fact that he is the only one eating, despite his meal being larger than he is

The superior is monstrous based on what he is eating (my favorite set of details) -- at first glance some kind of insectoid creature, but upon closer inspection:

This is an intelligent, technologically advanced life-form that used both a gun and a ship

2. Neither Saiyan is damaged, telling us even advanced alien weaponry does not harm a Saiyan (but Vegeta's armor is scuffed while Nappa's isn't, implying there was a physical if not futile attempt to stop him)

3. The arm is still bleeding, implying this kill is relatively fresh

4. The gun is next to the body, implying that Vegeta sat down on this person and starting eating them right where they died

5. There is a second body in the background that is significantly smaller despite being very nearby, which may imply that Vegeta is eating the adult but did not spare the child -- and if you're really into parallels,

6. There is smoke in the background, Nappa is sitting on inorganic architecture, and the ship is on it's side, making the sixth most brutal detail that these two beings were fleeing from the saiyan attack on some kind of community, and not only did Vegeta not allow them to escape, he also punished them for trying to by EATING the one in charge.

Like what do you mean Toriyama isn't a good storyteller. This is a Debut Panel. He tells you how scary this new villain is without having to say anything at all.

Its fine if you see Kanji as straight or use she/her for Naoto. I appreciate how Kanji's storyline is about accepting that its okay to not have masculine hobbies and how queerness and toxic masculinity are linked. I appreciate how rooted in a Japanese subtext Naoto's story is and how your going to have to understand it from a different perspective of a different life. Both of these characters I like and find interesting.

But I swear, if another Youtuber or other says in some variation "Thinking Naoto or Kanji's stories are queer means your MISSING THE POINT OF THE THEMES OF TRUTH IN P4" or that as they are in canon their arcs are perfect and not needing any sort of change and are not at all at least a little dated or problematic" I am going to start screeching.
