Sách giấy hay sách điện tử?

Có rất nhiều lý do mình không đọc sách điện tử, cho dù sách điện tử tiết kiệm hơn, tiện lợi hơn và gọn nhẹ hơn sách giấy.

Một trong những lý do đó là sách giấy luôn mang lại những kỷ niệm không thể nào quên, với mỗi quyển sách ta lại có một kỷ niệm riêng với chúng, cho dù những trang sách có bị ố vàng theo năm tháng thì dòng chữ của người tặng viết cho người nhận sẽ luôn hiện hữu ở đó, không bao giờ biến mất.

Nhưng rồi cơ duyên của mình lại không phải ba vùng đất đó mà lại là Hội An, nơi một người bạn rủ mình lên đó ở cùng và làm việc cho một hostel. Mình không cần phải suy nghĩ lâu mà đã đồng ý luôn, sau đó là 2 tháng mình trải nghiệm một cuộc sống mới nơi Phố Hội.

Tuy đó là một trong những quãng thời gian “best time” mình từng có, nhưng mình vẫn thường suy nghĩ nhiều về tương lai, về những đám mây u ám vẫn hàng ngày đeo đuổi.

Đó cũng là lúc mình quyết định đăng ký tham gia khoá thiền Vipassana 10 ngày để thanh lọc tâm hồn.

Sau khi từ Hội An quay trở lại Sài Gòn để chuẩn bị lên đường tới trường thiền tu tập, mình đã gặp lại chị đồng nghiệp cũ. Chị là người mình tâm sự khá nhiều về chuyện cá nhân nên khi biết mình về Sài Gòn, chị đã tặng mình cuốn sách này, chị nói đó là cuốn sách giúp chị tìm được lẽ sống, giúp chị biết trân quý cuộc sống hơn, vì vậy chị muốn tặng cuốn sách này cho một người đang thực sự cần, và mình phù hợp lại là người đang cần đó.

- Nếu phải đau khổ, hay biến đau khổ thành động lực để vượt qua, hãy mỉm cười và kiên cường đối diện, như cách tác giả đã kiên cường vượt qua quãng thời gian địa ngục khi còn ở trong trại tập trung.

Đối với mình, mỗi cuốn sách đều là kỷ niệm với một người hay một sự việc nào đó. Vì vậy đối với mình, sách giấy sẽ không bao giờ bị thay thế.

I repainted this painting from 2019 because the first one was purchased. I had named it “where birds fly there go I”. I’m re-painting some other paintings as well and well and have others in the works. I am not sure why I enjoy painting so much although it is completely different than the work I used to do. Sometimes for a brief moment I think that perhaps what I am doing is completely selfish and not of service to the world. But I continue because I am following my joy or heart as several “spiritual masters”? DEAR 2022: With a new planner in hand, I stare at its blank pages with wonder. As many of us do, we start each year with a greater sense of hope as we relinquish past expectations and look to the future. That is for example, the hope to lose weight, to pay off credit card debt, to find true romance, to find a dream job, to repair broken relationships, to fulfill new year’s resolutions and so on. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Well to heck with that I say. Rather than have hope, find purpose. Research shows that those who live a more purposeful life exhibit a lower risk of heart disease, have less chance of developing Alzheimer’s or diabetes, maintain better sleep, generate immune strengthening antibodies and better repair DNA that slows the rate of aging @vicstrecher ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ So that said, one can either be miserable trying to lose weight on a fad diet or find purpose in going on daily walks. One can either be disappointed by an unreliable dating app promising a “match” or find purpose in joining a volunteer program. You get the picture.
